I know this probably won't go anywhere unless I start talking about it, but I've finally started writing this story I've been plotting for ages. I'm currently calling it Starships and Sh*t takes. I'm just looking for more people to read and give me feedback on my story. I'll be posting it on Tumblr on my side blog, and I already have a first draft of part of chapter 1 out.
It's about a group of different species in space trying to get to earth for different reasons, but ultimately come to find home and family bonds in each other. Deciding that no matter where they end up, they'll be happy together. The main lead is Aymia, a 20something Slyvian cyborg, looking for her dad. The last known location of his is near the Milkyway. Jeff is a 50ish yr old human from Earth. He was a science professor at a college and was working with NASA to build a portal for quicker access to the moon. The portal worked, but the end location somehow wound up way out in the back alley of the city of Shaylia on Merion. Several galaxies away from home on an alien planet with no way back, he runs into Aymia. They form a deal that if she helps him get to Earth, he'll help her find out what happened to her dad. On the way, they come across some old friends and enemies as well as making new ones! (I really want their dynamic to come across as a flipped version of young and curios with old and gruff to young gruff with old curious.) Jeff often causes problems on accident by just being curious about his new surroundings with no real sense of danger, wanting as much information as possible to take home to his fellow scientists. Meanwhile, Aymia is constantly trying to avoid people who either want to own or kill both of the 2 of them.
There will be 4 supporting characters who join them and help further their journey. I know this is a lot on one post, but please read my read my story. I really want others to enjoy this grand adventure with me.
Sorry for the long post. Please enjoy these opossums eating fruit.

Ora conterò fino a dodici
e voi starete zitti e io andrò via.
Restare in silenzio - di Pablo Neruda

Tumblr media
Are you considering taking the next step in your construction career? Whether you’re currently employed on a construction site or seeking to advance your career, the SSSTS course could be the key to a more fulfilling career. As the construction industry’s demand for qualified site supervisors develops, obtaining SSSTS course certification can considerably improve your employment chances and earnings possibilities.
At SafetyMark Training, we recognise that becoming a site supervisor requires more than just experience. It also necessitates education, leadership, and a thorough understanding of safety procedures.  For this reason, we have designed the SSSTS course in Luton to exceed all of your expectations. In this blog, we’ll look at the top ten benefits of taking the SSSTS course in Luton and how they may help you take control of your construction career.
1. Unlock new career opportunities.
The SSSTS course in Luton will prepare you for a supervisory career in the construction industry. Employers often favour hiring supervisors who have completed this course, as it demonstrates your commitment to safety and leadership. Applying for higher-level positions and securing projects with greater responsibility and remuneration will be easier with this qualification.
Consider this scenario: You’ve been working as a general labourer on a construction site for several years.  You’re ready for a new challenge but don’t know where to begin. By completing the SSSTS course in Luton, you can set yourself up for a promotion to site supervisor, thereby unlocking new career opportunities that were previously unattainable.
2. Become a safety expert.
Safety is a very vital part of any construction site. With the SSSTS Luton course, you’ll gain a better grasp of how to create a safe working environment for your team. The course covers crucial topics such as hazard identification, risk assessment, and safety implementation. As a site supervisor, you will be responsible for the safety of everyone on site. This course will provide you with the tools you need to manage that obligation effectively.
Let us think about safety for a second. Imagine being in charge of hundreds of workers on a busy construction site. Every day, you will make decisions that affect the safety of those around you. By finishing the SSSTS course in Luton, you will be confident in your capacity to make sound decisions and keep your team safe.
3.Maintain compliance with legal regulations.
Stringent safety regulations govern the construction business, and failure to comply can result in serious consequences such as fines, accidents, and even legal action. By completing the SSSTS course, you will learn about the most recent health and safety laws.
Imagine a scenario where a corporation disregards safety procedures due to inadequate briefing from its supervisor. It may result in fines, delays, or possibly a severe accident. The SSSTS course in Luton guarantees that you are completely prepared to face these problems, so you never have to worry about legal noncompliance on your site.
4. Develop leadership skills.
The SSSTS course in Luton focuses on both safety and leadership. As a site supervisor, your duties will include overseeing the daily operations of a construction site, overseeing teams, and guaranteeing timely and cost-effective completion of work. This course helps you acquire the leadership abilities required to successfully manage a team and keep projects on schedule.
Consider a situation in which a supervisor lacks outstanding leadership abilities. It might result in confusion, delays, and even disputes within the team. By completing the SSSTS course in Luton, you will strengthen your capacity to deal with difficult situations, manage a team, and motivate others to complete tasks efficiently.
5. Master Risk Management
Construction sites are full of potential risks, including falling debris and dangerous gear. Learning to properly detect, assess, and manage risks is an important component of being a supervisor. The SSSTS course in Luton addresses these critical risk management principles, teaching you how to reduce possible dangers before they cause a problem.
Let’s look at the significance of risk management. Consider a scenario in which you, as a site supervisor, notice a possible hazard, such as a worker not wearing sufficient protective gear. You may solve the issue immediately by putting what you learnt in the SSSTS course in Luton into practice and preventing accidents and injuries under your watch.
6. Build Your Confidence
Completing the SSSTS course in Luton will give you the confidence to lead a construction team successfully. The training imparts practical skills and hands-on experience that you can immediately apply on the job. You’ll feel more confident in your decision-making because you’ve been trained to handle job site issues.
Imagine walking onto a building site, confident that you are perfectly prepared to take on the role of supervisor. Whether it’s making a rapid safety choice or leading a team through a difficult assignment, finishing the SSSTS course in Luton will give you the confidence you need to succeed.
7. Improve communication skills.
A competent site supervisor must interact effectively with a wide range of people, including workers and project managers. The SSSTS course in Luton emphasises the significance of clear communication, which will help you become a better leader who can effectively relay information to others.
Consider a scenario in which communication breaks out on a building site. It could cause confusion, delays, and even safety hazards. By improving your communication skills with the SSSTS course in Luton, you can ensure that everyone on your team understands their roles, responsibilities, and the overall project goals.
8. Increase your earning potential.
By obtaining SSSTS Course Luton certification, you establish yourself as a highly valuable addition to any construction organization.  Generally, supervisors with this accreditation earn more than those without. This training will help you negotiate a higher pay and improve your financial chances in the long run.
For instance, after completing the SSSTS course in Luton, you will qualify for more senior positions with higher salaries if you are currently working as a labourer. Investing in this course is an investment in your future profits.
9. Increase your knowledge of construction practices.
In addition to safety and leadership, the SSSTS course addresses a wide range of construction issues. This includes comprehending construction methods, materials, and techniques. This enhanced knowledge will make you a more successful supervisor because you’ll have a greater understanding of the tasks your team is completing.
Imagine being able to converse intelligently about the construction process and materials. This will allow you to manage projects more efficiently, respond to employee questions, and handle problems more quickly, making you a more successful and respected supervisor.
10. Join a network of professionals.
When you take the SSSTS course in Luton, you’ll become part of a community of experts who share your commitment to construction quality. Happy New Year!✨
Enjoy some New Year's Wolfstar Fluff😃
1430 words
“If, in the upcoming year, you actually manage to convince Lily Evans to be your girlfriend, then I promise that before the year is over, I will get up on a table and loudly proclaim my feelings for Remus Lupin for anyone to hear.”
May We All Have Our Hopes, Our Will To Try
Happy New Year - Abba
“I swear this is gonna be the year.”
“Mate, for Godric’s sake, just give it up.”
James shakes his head, not taking his eyes off of Lily. “She's warming up to me, I swear.”
Sirius rolls his eyes. “And what gave you that idea? That she called you an arrogant pillock just a moment ago?”
“Her tone is changing,” James insist. “It may sound exasperated, but as of late, there's a hint of fondness underneath.”
“I'm not trying to rain on your parade,” Sirius says. “Really. I'm not. But I want more for you. You're a catch, mate.” Sirius clasps James on his back. “Best in every class, maybe except for me sometimes, absolute Quidditch hero, master of pranks, together with myself, of course. Do you have any idea how many girls are always looking at you? Who would give up half their house's points to be with you? There's so much more out there for you!”
“But I want her,” James says curtly.
Sirius sighs. “Yes, you've made that evidently clear over the last few years. Aren't you at least getting tired of constantly being rejected?”
Now James turns to Sirius. “At least I'm putting myself out there, putting my heart on the line. It's by no means a guarantee that my love will ever be reciprocated, but it sure as hell gives me more of a chance than you have, with your strategy of always keeping your feelings hidden for the object of your affections.” He turns his head to look at Remus.
Sirius cheeks colour and he slaps James’ arm. “Don't look!” He hisses.
“Really, Pads,” James says, looking back at Sirius. “It might not exactly be where I want it to be, but at least I know where I stand with Lily. You have no bloody idea how he feels about you, because you won't bloody tell him how you feel.”
Sirius crosses his arms over his chest. “Some of us are not quite as fond of rejection as you are.”
“There's a chance of rejection, by no means a certainty. If you would just take the risk…”
“Him and I have a close friendship that could be ruined,” Sirius reminds James. “Excuse me for not being willing to risk that.”
“Okay, fine,” James says, throwing up his hands. “Let's forget about reciprocation or rejection for a moment. I think Lily simply deserves to know she is loved, regardless of whether she loves me back or not. So I tell her, as often as I can. Don't you want Moo-”
“Ssst!”
“Don't you want the object of your affection to know that?”
“It'll probably just make him feel awkward,” Sirius mumbles.
“Or confident. Happy. Loved. And besides,” James shrugs. “If Lily ever does change her mind, she won't ever have to doubt where I stand.”
“Prongs, she's not gonna-” Sirius shakes his head. “You know what? Let's make a deal. If, in the upcoming year, you actually manage to convince Lily Evans to be your girlfriend, then I promise that before the year is over, I will get up on a table and loudly proclaim my feelings for Remus Lupin for anyone to hear.”
A grin spreads over James’ face. “Deal.”
It's five minutes to midnight and Mary is handing out glasses of champagne to everyone at her New Year's Eve party.
“Is everyone ready?” Mary asks excitedly.
“Well,” James says, holding his glass of champagne in one hand, while his other is resting on Lily's waist, who's leaning heavily against him. “I actually think Padfoot still has an announcement to make.”
Sirius glares at James, but he has given his word, Marauder’s honour, and he has been postponing as much as he could, with only five minutes of the year being left.
Here goes nothing.
He walks up to the table and climbs on top. All their friends, including one Remus Lupin, stop their conversations to stare at him.
“Right. Ehm, hello. So… I suppose I should tell you that…” Sirius takes a deep breath. “I, Sirius Black, have feelings for Remus Lupin. I mean, I'm actually quite besotted with him. In love, you could say. I'm in love with Remus Lupin.”
Gasps echo through the room.
“Finally,” Marlene says.
“I knew it!” Mary exclaims.
“What?” Fabian asks. “Our Remus?” Gideon asks.
“Sirius and Remus?” Peter squeaks.
“Oh my god, oh my god,” Benjy says on repeat.
Caradoc is just opening and closing his mouth without any sound coming out.
Remus doesn't say anything, just stares at Sirius wide-eyed with his mouth slightly parted.
The new year arrives almost immediately after, and everyone snaps out of the shock by starting to hug and kiss each other and wishing everyone a happy new year. As they embrace him, people whisper things in Sirius’ ear like ‘good luck!’, ‘I'm rooting for you!’, ‘You've got some guts, Black’ and ‘I can't believe you just did that’.
Except for Remus. In fact, Remus seems to be avoiding Sirius completely.
“Give him some time,” James whispers as he embraces his brother.
Sirius just nods around the lump in his throat. This is why he had wanted to keep his feelings to himself, this is exactly what he thought would happen. Well, maybe it's not really… Maybe he had hoped…
“Give me your keys.”
Sirius, who ended up going home early and had just reached his motorcycle, turns around at the sound of the voice. “Excuse me?”
“Give me your keys,” Remus repeats.
Sirius stares at him for a moment, then shakes his head. “I hate to break it to you, Moony, but me having feelings for you is still no reason for me to give you my bike.”
“I hate to break it to you,” Remus retorts. “But you publicly embarrassing me is still no reason for me to let you drunk-drive yourself into an accident!”
“Drunk-dri- What are you even talking about?”
“Come on, Siri, you must be drunk off your arse.”
“Remus,” Sirius says. “I had one sip of champagne at midnight, and that's it. Do you really think I'd be that stupid?”
Remus blinks at him. “Then why… Then why would you… Why would you get up on the table and…”
“I'll admit that it wasn't my preferred method,” Sirius says. “But I had lost the wager I made with Prongs…”
Realisation dawns in Remus’ eyes, like the world suddenly makes sense again. “Ah, so you didn't publicly embarrass me because you're drunk, you publicly embarrassed me because you lost a bet.”
Sirius frowns. “I can't pretend I also would've done it if it wasn't for the bet, no, but honestly, I think I mostly ended up publicly embarrassing myself.”
“Can you at least try to consider someone else's feelings?” Remus asks angrily. “Do you, or you and James both, actually think it's funny to use pretending to be in love with me as a stake in one of your stupid bets? Did you ever consider what that would feel like for me?”
Sirius can only stare at Remus as he wraps his mind around his words, and suddenly he sees his anger from a whole new perspective.
“Of course you didn't,” Remus says, and he turns to walk away.
“Moony, wait!” Sirius rushes forward and grabs Remus’ arm, spinning him back around. “If you think what I'm thinking you're thinking, it's not what you think.”
Remus just gives him a cold look.
For Godric’s sake, Sirius thinks. He got up on a bloody table and announced his deepest feelings in front of all their bloody friends, he's not gonna let Remus walk away now still not knowing! For the second time that evening, Sirius takes a deep breath.
“I didn't believe James constantly publicly proclaiming his feelings for Lily would ever work, so we made a deal that if it did work, I would publicly proclaim my feelings for you.”
“Your…”
“My feelings. My true feelings. No pretense.”
“So you're actually…”
“In love with you.”
Remus opens and closes his mouth a couple of times. “You're an idiot, Sirius Black,” he eventually manages to say, which might not be as romantic as Sirius would've hoped for, but luckily, he continues. “Getting up on a table like that in the middle of the party, instead of just coming and talking to me.”
“So had I done that… you wouldn't have avoided me all night?” Sirius asks tentatively.
Remus takes a step closer and grabs the lapels of Sirius’ jacket. “My response would've been something like this.” And before Sirius can do anything, he crashes their lips together.

The spray bottle.
Wednesday has been on the war path for two weeks. She snaps at anyone that isn't Enid, has thrown several knives at offending students, and glares menacingly at anyone that dares get within five feet of her. Enid has reached her limit.
Enid: My social life is suffering! Do you know how hard it is to talk to people when they part like the Red Sea when you're around?
Wednesday: Yes, it's been delightful.
Enid: Not to me! You need to stop being so mean to people, that one boy you yelled at just asked if you dropped a pencil!
Wednesday: A foolish question, all of my pencils are black. He should have known.
Enid, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath: I didn't want it to come to this, but...
The werewolf produced a small pink spray bottle from her backpack.
Enid: You leave me no choice. You either behave or you get sprayed.
Wednesday, furiously: Of all the ridiculou-
SSST! Enid gives Wednesday a generous spray from the bottle.
Enid: There's plenty more where that came from. Now, what should you do when someone makes you mad?
Wednesday: Pin their jacket sleeve to the wall with a knife.
Enid: NO!
SSST!
Wednesday: You can't just train me like a common house pet!
Enid, grinning: That's not what you were saying last night.
Wednesday: ...
Enid: Are you going to behave?
Wednesday, trying desperately to hide her blush: I... I will try to be more considerate of others...
Enid, looking satisfied: That's all I ask. Thanks, babe.
Enid pecks Wednesday on the cheek before skipping off, leaving her extremely bewildered lover in her wake.

Kinktober day 10: Jegulus - Praisekink || NSFW || words: 1041 || Tags: double praise kink - older Jegulus - blowjob - anal sex (day 22 of @jeguluskinktoberr )
James looks up at Regulus from where he is laying between his legs, cock in his mouth and spit on his chin from the last good ten minutes he has been sucking his husband off.
The loss of contact makes Regulus look down and find James smiling up at him. Having been married for more than twenty years makes it easy for Regulus to decipher what James is fishing for and his emerald eyes twinkle playfully when they meet James’.
“You've been so good, Jamie, the way you suck my cock is unmatched,” Regulus cooes as he pushes himself up on his elbows so he can look down more easily. James feels the hot tingle of the words crawl up his spine and he leans down to continue what he had been doing.
A well-earned moan leaves Regulus’ lips, and James looks up to find his husband with his head thrown back and his legs spread even wider. “Oh you're so amazing James, I want more of it, anything your prefect fucking body can give me.”
James deepthroats Regulus as he lets the praise settle into his bones. His hands caresse the inside of Regulus’ thigh and dip to the inside before pushing so Regulus’ legs fall open even a bit more and automatically up as well, exposing himself to James’ minstartions.
“Want to make you feel good, love,” James tells Regulus as he pop's off his cock and kisses down his balls. “Want to hear your words and moans and everything else that would come out of your pretty mouth, you will take it so well.”
Regulus gasps and shuffles down in a gesture for James to get on with it, which he happily does. With the first strokes of his tongue he hears Regulus groan softly and a ‘fuck, so good’ thrown his way.
It's easy to get a finger into the man as he is already very relaxed. James curls it in the exact right way while keeping up his kisses and licks.
“God Jamie, yes, your fingers are the second best thing to have ever filled me,” Regulus groans, reaching down to wind his hands in James’ hair, the greying streaks in them reminding James every time he looks at himself of how quick time is passing.
“Yeah? Need something else sweetheart?” James asks, feeling his heartbeat quicken as he meets the blazing emerald green that's looking at him with nothing but love.
“Please,” Regulus begs, letting go of James’ hair so he can come up to kiss him. The soft lips James knows so well greet him greedily, and he devours him while Regulus’ hand reaches down and strokes James to a point of panting.
“If you want me to fuck you, you should stop because those hands of you make me insane,” James growls into Regulus’ ear as he kisses down his neck, biting softly and leaving marks all he likes.
“Says you,” Regulus counters, but he halts his movement so James can maneuver himself under Regulus. He grins up at his husband and Regulus just smiles in return. “Is your back still hurting?”
“No,” James shakes his head honestly, “I just want to see you ride me.”
Regulus laughs as he suffles down a bit, his hand reaching for the lube and spreading it on James’ cock as well as his hole. “Oh, is that so?” He asks, lowering himself to grind his lubed arse onto James’ stiff erection. “How come?”
“Because you are ethereal, and I love you, and you look fucking amazing for a fifty year old.”
“Forty-nine,” Regulus corrects him as he sits up on knees and grabs onto James so he can spear himself onto his cock. “Not there yet.”
James can't not focus on the feeling of Regulus around him but tries as he laughs and retorts. “One more week, love.”
“Ssst, I'm in denial,” Regulus chuckes, leaning down while settling on James’ cock and rocking slowly to kiss his husband sweetly. “We're not going to talk about that right now,” he states, whispering against James’ lips. “Right now, I'm going to ride you like I am still twenty and just discovering your body.”
“You still look like it,” James smiles, squeezing Regulus’ hips as the man sits up and starts moving himself up and down slowly.
“Liar,” Regulus laughs, which turns into a moan as he moves down.
“I would never,” James groans, bucking his hips up to meet Regulus’ movements down. “You are so gorgeous, so gracefull and even the popping of your knees is a beautiful sound.”
In retalliation, Regulus plants his hands on James’ chest and makes himself move quick, letting James slip in and out in such a rapid rate he can only moan and gasp while Regulus uses him for his own pleasure.
“Oh god, Jamie you feel so good,” he moans, falling forward onto James chest as his legs start shaking. James keeps up his trusting, proving Regulus’ point. “You are so good for me.”
“You take me so well, love,” James sighs in contentment as he feels his orgasm approach. “Let me take care of you.”
They flip, Regulus resting on his back now and James propped up on his knees as he slides back in, taking Regulus’ aching cock in his hands. “So fucking beautiful,” he tells him and Regulus groans loudly.
“Jamie, James I will come, keep talking,” Regulus tells him and James obeys, leaning forward and kissing Regulus’ neck while he strokes him and keeps up his thrust.
“You are so tight, god you feel amazing, I will not hold on for long, love, please come for me,” James tells him, his thrusts getting more sloppy and he feels Regulus thicken under his hand.
“Fuck, shit. So fucking good,” Regulus gasps before arching his back and spilling over James’ hand.
“God look at that,” James tells him, admiring the man he loves so dearly. “You're devine.”
The clenching of Regulus around his cock makes James colapse into his own climax and he falls on top of his husband with a satisfied moan.
“Good boy,” Regulus cooes as his hand glides through James’ hair. He snuggles closer and lets himself be englufed by all the love between them.

@steddieangstyaugust Day 14 - Wordy Wednesday: Lake
i’m challenging myself to keep all these at either 127 or 1,270 words each, see day one for more of an explanation!
Tumblr media
The last time Eddie visits his Uncle Wayne, he meets a mermaid.
He’d gone under the water to fish up a bright coral pink rock he’d spotted from above, and happened to glance up, looking out into the lake from under the surface, only to meet a pale face dotted with what looked like freckles.
Inhaling the clear lake water, sputtering as he stands, the pale face joins him above the surface.
“He–” another cough, “Hello…?” he greets, questioningly.
The face only studies him further, looking him over from head to toe.
Eddie squats back down into the water, it’s much colder above the surface now that he’s used to the water’s chilly temperature.
A bright shimmering blue tail skims past his knee.
“Wow! You’re a mermaid!” he says, astonished, finally noticing the rest of the boy’s freckled torso just under the crystal clear water. “I’m Eddie, what’s your name?”
“Eee–” the boy frowns, “Eeadding?”
Eddie points to his chest, “Ed-dee.”
“Edddeee.”
“Yeah! I’m Eddie,” he points to himself again, “You are…?” points to the mermaid (merboy?)
“Ssst–” his face scrunches, he squeals some sort of noise under his breath, “SteeEEE–” He cuts himself off again, shrinking from the pained look on Eddie’s face.
“Sorry, that was just loud.. Is it Steeee…” Eddie wracks his brain, “Fin?” He completes the only name that comes to mind, wincing at ‘fin’ being the only syllable he possibly could’ve imagined while in the presence of a literal finned person.
Maybe Stefin giggles, lifting his tailfins out of the water.
Eddie grins back, “Stee-fin?”
Even More Possibly Stefin nods, a sharp-toothed grin stretching from ear to ear.
“Well Stefin, wanna help me look for rocks?”
Together, they scour the shallows of the water behind Wayne’s cabin for hours
They fill the whole grocery bag Eddie’d been toting around with him by time Wayne calls for him at sundown.
“I’m leaving for home tomorrow,” he tells Stefin, not knowing that would be the last time he’d ever see his friend, telling the beautiful creature “I’ll see you next year though! We come back at least once every summer, promise.”
The merboy had smiled so brilliantly at him, the freckles Eddie had just then realized were tiny blue scales shining in the evening sun. He didn’t want to leave.
But he had to. Eddie left.
Elizabeth got sick.
Al got arrested.
And in the time between the state of Tennessee gaining custody of him and being placed with Uncle Wayne permanently, Wayne sold his little homestead, settling in a two bedroom trailer in the heart of Indiana.
He understands it all now, of course, Wayne making the decision to move where he knew he’d have consistent work year-round was a necessity, but that first week, an already confused Eddie had asked after only a couple days in the trailer when they’d be going home to the lake.
“I don’t live there anymore Teddy. Live here now, in Indiana.”
“But what about the cabin?”
“Sold it, kiddo. Bought this place instead.”
Eddie’s eyes welled up for what felt like the zillionth time in a month. “But what about the stove? What about the bonfires? What about all the rocks I haven’t found?” What about Stefin? He thought to himself.
“Now son–kiddo, s’alright! We can always plan a trip to the UP if y’wanna.”
“Back to the cabin?” Eddie had asked, hopeful.
Wayne shook his head, “Probably camp at McLain instead.”
“That’s on Lake Soupier?”
Wayne snorts, “Yah bud, s’on Superior.”
Eddie took a moment to consider it, then nodded resolutely. “Okay Uncle Wayne.”
They never went back up to Michigan, let alone all the way up to the UP.
The first summer in Indiana was the only time Eddie asked.
“Sorry kiddo, can’t swing it this year. Maybe next time.” Wayne had said, and Eddie watched.
The whole rest of summer, into the fall, especially in the winter, the red-stamped envelopes would stack, then disappear whenever they would go into what Wayne liked to call ‘broke mode’.
Clearance aisle canned goods, store-brand everything, sandwiches packed into brown paper bags with little else.
Eddie grew up, failed his senior year once, twice, managing things the third, and leaving Hawkins for Chicago, hoping to make it big somewhere, somehow.
He manages to, but not in the way he originally thought, falling into club ownership after the man he’d been working for passed, leaving his business to Eddie.
Wayne gets sick when Eddie’s only 28; he drives down to Hawkins and stays with him about a month before he’s gone.
Eddie goes back to Chicago one Uncle short, goes back to work.
A week after Wayne is cremated, a notification pops up in his inbox. An alert he doesn’t remember setting.
Eddie grins, “You sneaky bastard.”
Wayne’s cabin and surrounding acreage have come up for sale.
It’s not even a thought, there’s no decision to be made. Eddie offers over asking and gets the keys handed to him on his 29th birthday.
He’s still a part owner of his club, gets a check every month that pays the mortgage, but his new day to day consists of fixing the cabin, wandering in the woods, and strolling along the shallows of Lake Superior, looking for rocks.
One day, while walking north along the shore, he stumbles across a hidden little alcove.
The rock face juts in from the shoreline, behind a trickling waterfall. It’s not huge by any means, but it looks like someone’s already came by and carved the sand here away, making a knee-high pool that connects the rocky face of the shore with the lake.
He skirts around the little pool, walking along a narrow strip of sand to the sparkling waterfall.
A shocked scream is yanked from his throat as soon as he peers into the alcove properly though, because there, doing a very astute impression of a dead fuckin’ body, is a merman, leant casually back against the wall of the cave Eddie’d just approached from, snoozing away.
The creature whips its head around at Eddie’s yell, teeth bared and a hissing screech slithering out from between his lips.
“Holy Shit! You’re a—”
The merman stops hissing, “Eddie?”
Eddie blinks at him. “Jesus H. Christ.. Stefin?” The blue tail, the shimmering freckle-like scales, the still horribly beautiful face. “You’re real.”
“You’re back— real?” Stefin asks, incredulous, “You didn’t think I was real?”
“I was a kid with an astounding sense of imagination, sue me.”
Stefin rolls his eyes, “Figures why you never came back to see me.”
Eddie blinks at him again, “What? No! No, I couldn’t! My mom— my dad– Wayne— It’s a long story, okay?”
Stefin harrumphs, sitting back against the stone wall.
“I still can’t believe this, I always thought I’d imagined you.”
“Well you didn’t.”
“Yeahh, I can see that now, thanks.”
“You’re welcome.”
“Wha— nevermind, So, how’ve you been?”
Stefin’s head lolls around, he had to’ve just rolled his eyes. He stands up, “Why do you care? You’ll probably just leave again.”
“No, I bought the house my uncl—” Hang on, what?
Stefin shoves past Eddie to hop down onto the sand, avoiding landing on his feet in the water.
“You’re walking.”
“Amazing observation skills.”
“You’re naked.” And super hot, holy shit. Eddie averts his eyes politely.
“Again, very astute.” He grabs a bundle of cloth, pulling on a pair of shorts.
“How— Can I take you to dinner?”
“Why.” He pulls a shirt on over his head.
“To explain properly. And also because I missed you.”
Stefin turns, looks him over. His gaze softens minutely. “Sure. I’d like that.”

5 Key Benefits of the SSSTS Course in London
Tumblr media
In the construction sector, safety is not simply a priority; it is a need. Any construction project must prioritize the safety of workers and the smooth operation of the site. Taking the SSSTS (Site Supervisors' Safety Training Scheme) course is one approach to ensuring that you are adequately prepared to oversee this critical area of your profession. This course will provide you with the legal, health, safety, welfare, and environmental information needed to supervise construction sites effectively.
In this blog, we'll go over all you need to know about the SSSTS course in London, including its primary benefits and why it's an essential qualification for anyone wishing to work as a supervisor in the construction business. Whether you're already a construction supervisor or looking for a promotion, read on to learn how this training can help you progress your career while also keeping you compliant with safety requirements.
What is the SSSTS course?
Before we go into the benefits of the SSSTS course in London, let's explain what it comprises. We exclusively created the SSSTS course, a two-day classroom-based training program, for individuals who currently hold or aspire to hold supervisory positions on construction sites.
The training focuses on comprehending health and safety rules, conducting risk assessments, dealing with hazardous products, and encouraging worker welfare on-site. The CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) and UKCG (UK Contractors Group) acknowledge the SSSTS course as the industry standard for construction supervisors, making it an essential qualification for anyone looking to work in the construction business.
5 Key Advantages of the SSSTS Course in London
Now that we've covered the basics of the course, let's look at the top five reasons why the SSSTS course London is a must-have for construction supervisors.
1. Accredited by leading industry bodies.
One of the major advantages of the SSSTS course in London is that it is approved by both CITB and UKCG, two of the most reputable institutions in the UK construction sector.
• CITB accreditation assures construction training meets high safety and competency standards. Employers in the industry accept this accreditation throughout the UK, making it a reliable qualification.
• UKCG certification enhances the course's reputation and ensures it meets current legal and regulatory requirements.
This official recognition implies that if you complete the SSSTS course, you will receive a certificate that businesses will recognize, increasing your employability and career opportunities in the construction industry.
2. Understand the legalities and regulations of construction safety.
In construction, safety is not an option; it is a legal mandate. The SSSTS training aims to assist supervisors in comprehending their legal obligation to guarantee construction sites adhere to safety standards.
You will get a thorough understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act, the Construction (Design and Management) requirements (CDM 2015), and other HSE requirements. As a supervisor, you must grasp these regulations in order to avoid potential fines and legal consequences, as well as, most significantly, to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
Here's what you'll learn about legal requirements:
• Perform extensive risk assessments on building sites.
• Identify and effectively mitigate potential threats.
• The supervisor is responsible for promoting a culture of site safety.
• Understanding the legal repercussions of non-compliance and avoiding them.
With this expertise, you'll be able to lead a team that prioritizes safety and ensures that your location complies with all applicable rules.
3. Build your career with a recognized qualification.
An SSSTS course in London opens up numerous employment prospects in the construction business. By finishing this course, you will position yourself for career growth. We specifically developed the training for individuals who are currently or intend to take on a supervisory role on construction sites.
Here's how the SSSTS course can help your career:
• Increased job opportunities: Many construction businesses demand supervisors to have an SSSTS qualification to fulfill industry requirements. Completing the course will offer you a competitive advantage over those who do not hold this qualification.
• Qualified construction supervisors have more earning potential compared to unqualified individuals. By obtaining this industry-recognized credential, you can position yourself for higher-paying jobs and promotions.
• Looking to advance your career? The SSSTS course in London is a fantastic starting point for the SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) course. The SSSTS qualification is required for SMSTS, which focuses on site management rather than supervision.
By obtaining the SSSTS course in London, you are investing in your future and guaranteeing that you have the tools needed to advance in the construction sector.
4. Interactive and Engaging Learning Experiences
We at SafetyMark Training realize that interactive and interesting learning is most successful. That is why we developed the SSSTS course to be very participatory, with hands-on activities, group discussions, and real-world examples.
The course is taught in a classroom format where you will collaborate with other construction industry professionals. You'll be able to ask questions, discuss your experiences, and participate in group exercises that make learning more enjoyable and practical.
Professional trainers, who specialize in building safety, will provide you with support beyond classroom learning. Their practical experience ensures that the course material remains relevant and up-to-date with industry trends and legal requirements.
Within two days, you'll have gained valuable knowledge and be able to apply it to your supervisory duties.
5. Complete the course in just two days.
One of the primary benefits of the SSSTS course is its compact, two-day style. In just two days, you'll learn everything you need to know to become a proficient construction supervisor while still maintaining your job schedule. This is especially useful for busy professionals who may be hesitant to commit to long-term training programs.
The course will walk you through all of the important components of building site safety, such as legal obligations, risk assessments, handling hazardous chemicals, and promoting welfare standards. It's a demanding curriculum, but it's designed to be manageable and focused on the critical areas required to thrive in your profession.
After completing the course, you will receive an authorized CITB certificate that is valid for five years. After five years, you must refresh the qualification to ensure that your knowledge is current with any changes to construction safety requirements.
Who should take the SSSTS course?
The SSSTS course in London is excellent for those who:
• Hold a supervisory position in the construction business.
• Looking to advance to a supervisory role by gaining relevant knowledge and qualifications.
