I want to live more than anything. The thing is, my body wants to make that really difficult. It constantly robs me of the things I love. It changes so drastically that it becomes impossible to carry on doing the things I adore or that make me feel even a little bit productive and useful. I get it. I listen. So I try to adjust and adapt. Let go of things I’ve loved because sometimes holding on is more painful than the act of letting go. I attempt to change my perspective and alter my goals/aspirations. I try to find new things that I can do within my limitations. I attempt to sculpt a new path for myself. And I do. I find something else and I try my best to make peace with what I have to leave behind so that I can embrace what I have gained. But then, my body chimes in, changes more, stops me again and says, “nope. You can’t do that either.” And the cycle begins again. I’m just so tired. I’m just so tired of trying to adapt, only to adapt again… and again. Until there’s not many other options.

Which is why this PCP will always sign your disability placard application.
It is okay to use accomodations even if they're preventative. You don't have to already be in some high level of pain to use a handicap parking spot. If you have a placard and walking causes more pain, it's completely valid to want to reduce potential pain. Accomodations are not a reward for suffering, they're there for what you need, whatever the reason.

Having a rather rough day. I think any of us in this situation knows that we all hope that one day we will be better because if not. Truthfully I have no idea how long I can hold on if my future is just incurable pain as far as the eye can see

I am posting this because everyone in the online autism community needs to be aware of this person and this face book group. It is just called Asperger’s Syndrome.
It ran for at least a decade before being taken over by this admin.
This admin is giving out advice that I find dangerous. They say they are autistic and have been teaching special needs children for 30 years.
The frequently, almost every day, post their own personal grievances with: autistic peo0ple getting benefits, autistic accommodations in school, and many more things.
His default position is: accommodations are unnecessary, benefits are for lazy people, corporal punishment is okay, if an autistic person is bullied then its because they were being weird and need to be more normal, and so on and so forth.
This persons ideas and advice are extremely mistaken and will lead parents, siblings, teachers and autistic people themselves down a wrong path.
Beware! @ogrefairy @autisticfactoftheday

Neurologists have a way of making you feel good even though they’re telling you that you’re completely stuffed, ‘Now you must remember that a lot of treatments aren’t licensed for use for your condition so I can’t recommend them.’ ☹️Then the good bit comes (I think) ‘You are a very special person, your condition really is quite rare.’ So I’m special and rare like a huge diamond, I’m thinking! 😃 Then he says ‘Just let me know if there is anything I can do for you, I’m happy to try anything if it might help!’ Then I feel bad again 😩😩😩

~26/10/2019~ So today was a first for me... I guess I had my first 'date', though I hate the 'd' word! 🙈😂 I wasn't exactly feeling on top form for it - still a bit chesty, but was okay once I dosed up! 💊 🦄 Had to travel to Guildford, which is quite a way for me, but everything was running on time so I coped. Managed to stay distracted by reading my book 📚👍 We met in this tearoom behind the high street. I suppose it went quite well - nothing awful happened, he was quite chatty, which was good, so a positive experience for me. BUT... I had been told that he has a 'very mild' learning difficulty and that you can't even notice, well I could definitely notice straightaway! It might be because I've worked with young people with learning difficulties for 5 years, but hey ho! He was very sweet, but it did feel more like me spending time with someone like the students I used to support. He must have told the people in the cafe that he was meeting someone on a date because they were smiling at us and looking at us weirdly 🙈😂 He showed me his clubcard collection - apparently he wants to try and win an award for collecting the most costa points?!? I managed 2 hours with him. What I've discovered already with this 'dating' lark is that it can be a lot of hardwork and use up a lot of #spoons as it were, when you just know within 2 mins of meeting someone that they're not for you! I'm a little bit concerned given that he was presented to me as my best 'match' that I'm not going to find anyone through the service who's on the same wave length as me 🙃 🦄 Was pretty exhausted once I got home. A load of stuff I ordered for Bella had come 🐱💜 so there was a lot of unboxing involved and working out where to put everything! I've since been colouring one of the cardboard boxes in with sharpies as it's so ugly, but would make the perfect little hiding place for her to begin with! 💖 🦄 #instablog #instadaily #update #firstdate #mentalhealth #dissociativeidentitydisorder #cptsd #anxiety #potsie #pots #dysautonomia #chronicillness #disability #worthing #colouredhouses #obsession #pastels #rainbow #pretty #paintedhouses #colourpop #cute #stunning #mews #positivevibes #recovery (at Worthing, West Sussex) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4GFeaMJpla/?igshid=3nc26ounk8ok

This week at #singingclub we composed a song that ends, "When I'm singing with my friends, that's the best!" #Music is a great way to stretch your #spoons- put on a dance beat to get your chores done, something steady for errands, and maybe even choral music for when you need something sacred. #chronicillness #invisibleillness #contestedillness #undiagnosed #chronicfatigue #sleepdisorder #pcos #disabled #disability #sick #sickgirlsclub #illness #spoonie #spoonielife #asianspoonie #toronto #canada #asian #canadian (at University of Toronto)

Most people think of getting sick as a part of life. You get sick, you go to the doctor, take your medicine, and like “magic” you get better, and afterwards you go on with your life as if nothing happened. Those few sleepless nights with stuffed noses, stomach aches, and body pain are nothing compared to the long, healthy life that most of them will live. ☆ That’s the funny thing about chronic pain and chronic illness. You’re healthy… until you’re not. Some days you have more energy, or more spoons, and others, you don’t. Last week I was staying in bed every day until 2pm because I wasn’t sleeping at night, wasn’t feeling well, and played it off as “staying up all night reading” to my family because, I am a bookworm, and that is believable to the people I love. I almost dropped out of NaNoWriMo this year because, I have just felt like absolute shit. ☆ I also have a huge week ahead between an Allergist appointment, having to go to Rush on Tuesday, a DEXA scan Wednesday, and more that I haven’t even called to set up yet. All the while my little brother turns 21 on Monday, and I NEED to get my shit together enough to make his birthday pie, and the casserole that he asked for because this is his 21st birthday, and I cannot drop the ball here. Our mom passed away in 2020, and she can’t be here to make it a good birthday so I HAVE to. ☆ I am fucking STRESSED. ☆ #EDS #EhlersDanlos #Stress #Insomnia #Depression #ChronicIllness #ChronicallyIll #Insomniac #Spoonie #SpoonTheory #POTS #ChronicPain #CRPS #InvisibleIllness #ButYouDontLookSick #Disabled #DisabilityAwareness #AuDHD #ChronicPainAwareness #DisabledCreator #MCAS #PTSD #Dysautonomia #InternationalDayofDisability #MentalIllness #nanowrimo #aspiringauthor https://www.instagram.com/p/CluFGucv7Bc/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
