Chronic pain vent
I am SO TIRED OF SPENDING DAYS IN SO MUCH PAIN I CAN'T FOCUS
I just sit here and scroll for a moment before realizing my neck and back and jaw are tensed so I relax them and then thirty seconds pass and I realize I've tensed up again and again and I'm bracing against the pain but it's making it worse to do that
Light hurts. Loud noise hurts. Chugged water hasn't helped. Pain killers just have not helped. I can't fucking WALK OR STAND. and I don't fucking want to go back to DBT group and listen to how my chronic pain is all my fault and I have to be constantly working to fix it so I can be productive. I'm TIRED and in EXCRUCIATING PAIN CONSTANTLY. I can't fucking employ a chauffeur so I prioritize necessities like groceries over going to the doctor and getting no help.
I fell asleep thinking "please help me" over and over again because my head and back and joints hurt so much and I woke up in exactly the same amount of pain. It's been weeks, months, years of this. Please I am begging, I am too tired and worn down to keep pushing beyond my limits just to do the bare minimum.

i am having a Not Great pain day, BUT i have next to no obligations for the rest of the day, so i am now Medicated, and oh no i made the tragique mistake of looking through my magic ref tag, and now i am just incredibly and absurdly emotional about humans, about the things that tie us together, about the ways we love, the ways we keep loving long after it's too late, the ways sometimes we almost wish we could cut our love out of very hearts if we could, except we don't think that, because if love is all we have left then we'll learn to love that love despite the pain of it, that grief is the broken, drifting string that once tied us to another, that it hurts like an exposed nerve, like it is an exposed nerve, shorn in half as it is, nerves and veins and bones shorn in half as well, that if love is a living thing binding us together then grief is the love still pumping out like blood from a cut vein, except love isn't finite like blood, and there will always be more pouring out of a broken string.
like there will always be a part of me that is untethered, and there will always be a part of me that will only exist in the context of you, a part of me that will always be reaching for what is gone. love isn't finite, but sometimes we think it is, sometimes we feel it pouring out so fast into nothingness that we think it must be. it's not nothingness though, is it, not really. do you think it would be better if it was? if we could pour it all out and give it away. if we only had to grieve once. there are more strings around your wrists then you could ever understand - there's more looped around your wrists, your forearms, your throat. there is more tying you to this world than you could ever guess. how terrible it is to love and be loved. how absolutely suffocating.
if you handed me a knife i would swallow it whole before i ever tried to cut myself free.

I s2g doctors are either overly stingy with medication and refuse to prescribe them even when it’s absolutely necessary or just throw meds at patients without exploring alternative and/or complimentary options as well as not bothering to check for drug interactions even tho that’s like Polypharmacy Safety 101

I’m so proud of people living with chronic health conditions. That shit is HARD. Idk who needs to hear this, but if no one else has said it: I’m proud of you. You’re sticking it out through so much pain and grief. That’s no small feat.
Every small thing you do for yourself health adds up. The grief is heavy and it comes from a place of love. The grief knows the pain is wronging you.
I’m proud of you. I hope on the good days you can be proud of yourself.
Keep going.

Spoonie Witchcraft- Full moon
So I have been thinking about low energy magic. As someone who is disabled I haven't had the energy to do withcraft the way I used to. I have not been doing much at all for the last year. There has been no moon water made, no ritutual magic, and I haven't even been able to smoke cleanse my home.
I have been stressed financially, as well as in extreme pain this past year. I decided to see what other spoonies had to say about what to do on a full moon. I want to do something, but I am not sure what I can or am able to do. I went to my witchy discord servers and Facebook groups and asked around. I also thought of a couple of ideas on my own as well.
Here are some ideas to use for the spoonie witch.
Sit outside under the full moon. This would be called moon bathing but sometimes theres a full ritual around it. However, just sitting out under the full moon and basking in its light is good enough. This is also only if weather permiting. Don't go out into a hurricane or other severe weather. You may just end up being blown away instead.
Prayer. Praying to the God's you believe in or work with in silence. Praying to your ancestors and giving them thanks for thier guidence and wisdom. Obviously this is more for pagan witches and not for the atheists.
Sigils. You can do sigils everywhere. You can draw a sigil on your palm and visualize its purpose. For example, drawing an abundance sigil and visualize money coming to you. It's a good simple spell. Can also draw sigils in your food with a knife or other utensil depending on what you are eating. Peanut butter jelly time!
Birthday candles. Using birthday candles in candle magic instead of regular candles can be a quick spell and still work just as effectively. Making wishes on cake is magic. Maybe make a wish on a chocolate swiss roll.
Tea and coffee. You speak intentions into your drinks. Maybe have a full moon tea blend and do this when the sun goes down. You can buy different blends of tea on etsy or at a farmers market.
Watching youtube videos. Watch videos about magic and the full moon. There might even be a live meditation on there you can join in on.
Tarot readings. A low spoonie tarot reading. A basic 3 card spread that is for fun and not the deep soul searching/healing that you may normally do. Another tarot idea is just to pull one card to just see what the message would be.
Gemstones on nightstand. Put stones on your nightstand that have the intentions you'd like to draw to you. For example, amethyst for protection against nightmares. Maybe green adventurine for bringing in luck and abundance to your life. Use black obsidian for protection against gossip. Well, by now, you get the idea.
Cleansing. There are multiple methods of cleansing. If you have enough energy, a small ritual shower could be what is needed to get more energy. Or, at the very least, feel more refreshed. If you can't stand for a shower, soaking in a tub with salt water will work. You may use a shower chair for the shower if you have one. I use a bar of soap that is hand-made by other witches. They tend to put essential oils and intentions, so there is a cleansing effect. If you are too low energy for that, going back to youttube idea; they have cleansing meditation music. You can sound cleanse with the music. You may also play witchy ambient music. There are a vast number of options for sound cleansing.
Journaling. Journaling is something that can be done lying down. You can find some journal prompts on Tumblr, or you can find them on pintinterest. You can do shadow work journaling as a form of releasing. It's fun to select a new journal or even get a fancy pen.
Dressing up. If you have a witchy shirt, dress, or robes. It is fun to dress up on the full moon in honor of the moon. Like going to a magical witchy party. I have 2 witchy dresses, a witchy sweater, and a long sleeve stars and moons blouse. I also have a regular black dress for if I want to be more subtle.
Self care. It is okay to just watch a movie or binge watch a favorite TV show. You could also read a book for fun. If you are very into astrology, depending on the astrological sign of the moon phase, self care would be more important. Tomorrow, the full moon is in Pisces, and there is a lunar eclipse. Self care may be the best option during this full moon in September.
I wanted to say a big thank you to The Four Winds Coven on Discord as well as the modern witch collective for helping me brainstorm this list. There are more of us spoonie witches out there than we think. This list is also great for someone who is just too busy to do much either. I hope you all enjoy these tips and tricks!

Hey all my executive dysfunction friends, I’d like to introduce you to a concept that I’ve found helpful in Doing Things That Need Doing
I call it the “Might As Well” Principle
Here’s how it works:
There’s a Thing you need to Do, which is not necessarily difficult or all that time-consuming for you (ie: dishes, laundry, shower, cleaning a room, etc)
The Thing has multiple steps, which make beginning it more daunting than it would be otherwise
You tell yourself that you “might as well” begin whatever the first step of completing the Thing is, without committing to completing any other steps
Once you are engaged in step 1 of the Thing, allow yourself to think “well, I might as well continue, since I’m already here” if the mood strikes you
Take it as far as the motivation lets you
Congrats! You’ve done more of the Thing than you would have by getting bogged down in the number of steps the Thing takes!
It is VITALLY important to note that this is for tasks whose main barrier to completion is the fact that you have trouble starting them. It is not for tasks which require large amounts of time, physical ability, or energy. And that’s gonna be relative for everybody. The examples I listed above are Things which I spend far more time and energy thinking about Doing than I do actually Doing them.
I would also not recommend this for Things that cannot be stopped or half-assed once started without causing an immediate issue to arise. The point is that you use the “Might As Well” Principle to get you started, not to force you to finish if the time, energy, or motivation isn’t there
Anyway, I hope there are some people out there who might find this as helpful as I have

Health Potion (for the chronically pained and/or ill)
Hello, yes, this will not cure anything. I am not claiming a miraculous fix all potion for those with chronic issues. What I AM claiming is that I'm pretty sure I have POTS and a few other things, and that making my Health Potion helps ME.
What to do & How to do it:
You will need
Drinking water. Can be tap, can be filtered. Can even be moon or crystal charged if you have the spoons.
Frozen fruit. I use frozen berries and cherries mix. You could use fresh, too, but let's be real - everything goes bad so quickly.
A little salt
A little natural sweetener, such as honey or agave. I skip this sometimes because my fruit is higher in sugar.
A very large cup with a lid and a straw, that's easy to wash.
Optionals: ice, lemon or lime juice, turmeric and herbal additives.
Salt to ground and balance, fruit for its health sustaining properties, water for its life Creating properties, sweetener to make things easier.
Mix together. Use your own internal correspondences for extra magical juice.
I do this to balance my electrolytes and keep up on my water intake - since I'm pretty much chronically dizzy and dehydrated. Plus, there's fruit in the end. I love me some fruit at the bottom of a drink.

5 low energy activities for when you're feeling too unwell to get up but don't want to be on your phone.
Hi lovies!
I think that the title pretty much explains it. Still, I wanted to share 5 low-energy activities today because I know it can be really hard to find something to do when you're not feeling well but you've already been scrolling on your phone for hours. All of these are things that you can do from your bed, the couch, etc. and they are all very affordable!
Tip: If you're doing these in your bed (or somewhere else that doesn't have a good flat surface) you can use a cookie sheet/baking tray. If you don't already own a cookie sheet you can find them for really cheap at the dollar store or a second-hand store
colouring - this one is probably pretty obvious but I think it's a good one because it's pretty customizable. You can buy a colouring book from the dollar store or amazon or Walmart or wherever else. you could even find free printable colouring pages online. the same thing applies to markers/crayons etc. you probably already have some and if not you can get super cheap ones or super fancy ones.
2. crossword puzzles/word searches - I know these aren't for everyone but I love them and they're another thing that you can find paper copies of or online and you can buy a book of them or print them out yourself.
3. reading - This is another one that has lots of options for different price ranges and affordability. you can buy new books, or used books, borrow from a library, or do audiobooks or Ebooks instead. I know that some libraries have apps you can download with Ebooks and audiobooks that you can borrow as long as you have a library card.
4. bead crafts - I love making things with beads (particularly bracelets) because it's, easy, and requires no brain power. I'd also like to mention that if you have poor dexterity or fine motor skills (or want avoid eye strain) I recommend using pipe cleaners instead of string and using larger beads that are easier to pick up.
5. card games - If you have a friend, family member, or caregiver around you can play card games! they're fun, easy, you can do it laying down and there's tons of different games out there.
Bonus
6. This is bonus activity because it takes a bit more energy than the others but I always recommend finding a video essay or documentary on an interesting topic and taking notes and doing a deep dive on the subject!
that's all for today lovies, as always I hope this helps at least one person!
