a 3am essay where i ranted on remarried empress again....
part 1
as a rashta fan, i don't think navier's character is that bad but i do wish they explored it more. like it is interesting to see a person realize they are more than what title they hold, navier had to learn on how she can do other things by just being herself and not an empress.
she herself told how much the title empress meant to her and how losing it feels like losing a part of herself, which shows her codependency on this title but in my personal opinion, it felt like the webtoon never explored such themes enough. her character was barely explored or even had that much development. though to be fair, i haven't read the webtoon in a while after i saw how horrible the author was treating rashta and her character.
the only thing explored in the webtoon was navier learning to be more in a relationship, the reason why soveishu and navier did not stay together was because of they relecutency to open up to each other even though they were in love with each other, they just failed to open up with each other. and i do wish that the author talked about how even navier has a play in this, im not saying soveishu being cheated should be excused but they should have showed on why not opening up to your partner is not always a good thing in relationships.
rashta makes awful decisions for her wanting power just so she can't go back to her horrible past of being a slave, she's tired of being manipulated by the people around her, but during her want for power, she gets manipulated by the viscount who also traumitized the shit out of her by giving her a dead baby. which i also add that he never gets the proper treatment for his awful actions. he is not for once called out for being an asshole.
also navier being a classist would also be a great theme to explore in the webtoon, she doesn't even have much of a reaction to the fact slavery happens in the kingdom. in the first few eps, when she finds out rashta was an ex-slave from rumors, she asks soveishu if it is true in such a weird manner like downgrading her? could just be me though
duke ergi (i do love him), the guy who manipulated rashta the most after she came into nobility is given the least reprecussions in the webtoon, even the fans applaud him for manipulating her. he is aware of how alone she feels, she can't trust others after what her previous lover had done to her, by what the viscount did, by what her father did. she suffered so much and duke ergi is aware of how isolated she is, and took advantage of it.
im not saying the author should excuse her actions, but they should stop downgrading her or making her do stupid actions (which is ooc) just to make navier better. literally in the latest episodes, we see panels of where rashta is sufferring and navier is just living her life and they have similar situations. like rashta sufferring after giving birth to her child and navier finding out shes pregnant. it just shows how the author has blatant favoritism towards the female lead.
characters who are literally victims but also bad people at the same time and are so treated by the story are literally my favorite characters (azula from ATLA). i wish rashta got the same treatment as azula.
rashta is smart and cunning and i wish the story accepted that. they make her do dumb decisions just to uplift navier to spread the message "navier wouldn't do that", the thing is ofc navier wouldn't do that, she was literally raised in nobility and taught to become an empress from day one but rashta? she was a slave and had to literally use her very limited skills to get a position in nobility, yeah she did do stupid shit but isn't it impressive that with literally no education that she somehow was able to survive in nobility? and navier that took years to study on becoming empress, rashta has done much faster within the limited time she has, obviously she hasn't perfected her studies and even complained on having to study, but i think she has the right. she was literally thrown into this hell fire without any time to prepare.

So,can I say my own ship with sovieshu? Because I shipped sovieshu with Dion from how to protect the heroines older brother? I you are curious who Dion's personality is like and how he looks, here he is(fun fact,Dion is totally dangerous and a red flag): https://how-to-protect-the-heroines-older-brother.fandom.com/wiki/Deon_Agrece
I know Roxana's older Bro. 😌
Well, Dion really not my type but fan of him despite his every crimes. He really younger version of Lant Agriche (MY FAV ZADDY). 😍
I don't have any problem about shipping character x character, even crossovers. It's your free-will to do.
For example, if I want to have intense and great dynamic Ship. Then this ship I imagine:
Sovieshu x Ruvellis Kamaludin Shana Castina (Abandoned Empress)
Sovieshu x Mag (that ML from Villainess Tames the Beast)
Sovieshu x Dylan Blade ( The Taming of the Tyrant.)
Sovieshu x Claude de Alger Obelia (Who made me a princess)
Sovieshu x Abel (that Zaddy Step-father from Author of my own Destiny)
Sovieshu x Lant Agriche (AAARGGUH YES THAT I LOVE IT )
Etc. (I can't think cuz there are too many 😔)
But my main fav is still Cold Like Tyrant Sovieshu who has no feelings for every character in whole mutiverse and like idgaf. He doesn't like people who has no common senses like navier and Heinrey and other characters. (Yes I made up.)

Rashta, after becoming Empress and Navier has left the Empire, to the tune of "Part of Your World": So what if I ruined a marriage? Killed my hero, but who's keeping score? Though I'm bathing in wealth, I'm still jealous, Of Navier... Who's not here... I want MOOOOOORE!!
#louder for the people in the back#just because a character is understandable or has a sad backstory does not justify their horrible actions#yes she had trauma but so many of her problems were also caused by her own selfishness#just one example is pix's death which was just plain evil#and she tried killing several more people#rashta#the remarried empress#webnovel#gonna add this too because i know they'll be people bringing it up#yes soveishu is also awful#he just doesn't fit in the parody lyrics

Watching the general populous of Webtoon hate Rashta from The Remarried Empress so violently, to the point of making her ridculing nickname a synonym for The Other Woman archetype, is really exhausting for a number of reasons, with the main one being that there are numerous female main leads of similar stories that fit that characterization of her more.
I love The Remarried Empress but the readers love to blame Rashta for EVERYTHING that happens in it, when at the end of the day, Rashta is just an antagonist. I know! Shocking! Rashta is not the driving force of the story! You know who is? SOVIESHU.
Sovieshu has always been the main villain. He is the one with all the power, he is the one who created a situation that pit these women against each other. Rashta was a slave because her father was a criminal, being Soveishu's mistress was a means of survival. Like, of course she sucks ass at scheming! She never had an education, and Sovieshu stalled on giving her one because he was ATTRACTED TO HER CHILDISH DEMEANOR. Soveishu liked Rashta because she was what Soveishu wanted from Navier and she sucked up to him in the ways he wanted! Because she needed to in order to survive! Her mistake was becoming paranoid, arrogant, and cruel to continuously provoke Navier, but that was also at the urging of another man: Duke Ergi! Because Rashta is uneducated and vulnerable and she thinks he's her only support system! She went through the trouble of ousting Navier at Ergi's suggestion and Soveishu began to just use Rashta as a baby factory, because as Rashta became like Navier to survive the political world and as he realized he lost Navier, he stopped caring about her. He never saw her as a human, he only saw her as a slate to project on the child version of Navier he was still in love with.
Now, i'm not gonna deny the heinous shit Rashta has done nor am I defending it, she is the antagonist, she does do cruel things that can't be excused, and that's factual. But the tragedy of her is that she was set up to fail by every single man in her life. She started seeing the women around her as competition because of those men. She never once had power and her frustration at her powerlessness and her disillusionment is valid. Navier was protected by her status as a noble, but Rashta had nothing and watching her crash and burn is satisfying but also sad. In another comic, she would be the female lead, and she would be safe and happy, she would be loved. To see the fandom boil her down to some man stealing bitch is really sad because it takes all the focus from Sovieshu. Instead of ripping him apart for using a system to abuse the women in his life, everyone rips apart Rashta for lashing out as a victim of that system.
You know who fits this dynamic more though? Diana from For My Derelict Favorite. Diana is a saintess with healing powers who was mistreated for being a commoner and married the Crown Prince. Hestia, the protagonist, targets her for revenge for a numerous amount of reasons, but what makes their conflict interesting is that Hestia is her equal. They were both commoners, they both are beloved by the world's god, they both rose in their station. The difference is that Diana is everything Rastha is percieved as. She still acts like a victim of the class system, despite the fact she's the crown princess and now has power and luxury. She looks down on the other nobles for their spending and ridicule of the lower class, yet doesn't realize she's become just like them. She casts aside Caelus for killing the novel's OG villains to save the empire, but has no problem acting like nothings wrong despite her treatment driving him to try and take his own life. She thinks herself objectively right and special and the minute anyone criticizes her, she turns on them, her husband included. She makes it a goal to steal Caelus from Hestia in order to hurt her and validate her behavior, thinking Caelus still loves her over Hestia. When Hestia makes soap accessible for the common people and makes advancments in changing the nobility's views of the lower class, Diana nitpicks her for it, because she can't stand to see Hestia take the limelight. She uses her power and privilege to bully and abuse others and then runs crying when she's called out on it.
The difference between these stories is clear. Rashta has no power and isn't the main villain, she doesn't have equal standing as Navier. She does a lot of her actions out of desperation for love and to survive while still being cruel. Diana and Hestia come from equal status; Diana is the one in the most power. She abuses the systems meant to mistreat those like her for her own benefit and nothing more. Helios is the antagonist while Diana is the villain, because it is Diana's actions that push the plot, akin to Soveishu. Helios and Rashta make things difficult, but they're really only along for the ride, and their interference in the plot happens because of the villains their characters serve.

Sovieshu doesn't really act like a yandere in this one??
Anger.
That's what Sovieshu was feeling right now, seeing a ton of men from ranks alike, talking so casually with his beloved was making furious than ever before.
He wanted to kill those bastards for even thinking they had the chance to talk with his [Name], HIS [Name].
But of course, what did he expect? His beautiful girl, with smile that brought the sun to shame. The face that radiates beauty that it seemed like she was the daughter of the Aphrodite herself, and her eyes. The mesmerizing light rainbow color that had everyone enchanted.
Of course, [Name] was bound to get attention from everyone. But it was insulting that these lowly nobles think they had a chance with his [Name], the women that is known to have the Emperor's attention, him, THE EMPEROR.
It was bold, it was clear that these men around her were sweetening her up, buttering her with their filthy empty words.
No, they couldn't treat her better than he will. He was better, far much better than anyone, than any men. Everyone in the ball could practically see the Emperor's raging seething anger while the men who was crowding [Name] were completely oblivious to it.
Karl, Sovieshu's most trusted secretary gulped seeing the Emperor's rage. As well as his childhood friend, Navier and her husband Heinrey. They looked at Sovieshu worriedly who looked like he was about to explode from how the men were interacting freely with his darling.
"Your majesty, are you alright?" Heinrey asked as the black haired looked at him, he put on a fake smile and nodded. "Of course, why do you think of the opposite, your highness?" Sovieshu sighed making the couple sigh at his jealousy.
Though they didn't know, that his jealousy was far far, more dangerous than ever. Not your typical jealousy, the kind of jealousy that was dangerous.
Just the thought of those filthy men looking at his sweet girl was making him want to kill everyone, to take their eyes off for daring to even talk to her so casually. He wants to sew their mouth shut for talking to her.
"I'll be going." He stood up from the throne and went to his beloved, the nobles noticed and made way as he was standing behind his beloved back. [Name] turned around and her face lit up seeing Sovieshu, he could see the discomfort she was in because of being surrounded by many noble men.
Oh, his poor darling. He should've come sooner.
The nobles saw Sovieshu and bowed down in respect and greeted him, they looked up and saw the dangerous glare from the Emperor. They shivered and excused themselves, not wanting their head to be ripped off by the Emperor himself.
"[Name].." "Mhmm? Yes, your majesty?" [Name] said looking at him with those beautiful rainbow eyes, oh how beautiful it was. He wished he was the only one that could look at those beautiful orbs forever.
"Would you like to dance?" Sovieshu said, offering his hand to her as he kneeled down. [Name] smiled and nodded, taking his hand. "Of course your majesty!" She said with a wide smile making Sovieshu melt at the sight of her gorgeous smile.
He led her in the middle of the room as the slow waltz started, of course the dance wouldn't start if the royal couple themselves haven't yet.
The music started as slowly the other nobles began to dance alongside the royal couple.
Sovieshu hand laid softly on her waist while the other holding his hand, and her hand on his shoulder. Her smile that was only and only directed at him, it was a picture perfect sight for Sovieshu.
"Did you feel uncomfortable dear?" "Huh?" [Name] looked at him in surprise. "What do you mean?" She asked as Soveishu twirled her. "Earlier, when the noble men surrounded you. Did you feel uncomfortable in any way?" He asked, his voice is one of concern, concern for his beloved safety.
She bit her bottom lip as she nodded. "Y-Yeah... I did..." [Name] said with a uncomfortable looked that caused Sovieshu heart to swell, he didn't like seeing that look on her face. Especially if it's caused by other people.
He can't have his beloved be uncomfortable, no one shall make his [Name] uncomfortable ever.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I couldn't be by your side... I shouldn't have wander by yourselves.." Sovieshu said as he pulled [Name] closer to him, his mouth just an inch away from her ear, his hot breath hitting her ear which caused her to shiver from the contact.
"I won't let anyone make you feel uncomfortable... I don't want other men talking so casually with you..." He whispered as [Name] nodded. "Just... be by my side.." [Name] pleaded making Sovieshu smile. "Of course.. of course..."
- "I'll always protect you, no matter what." "Ughh..."
Sovieshu wiped his bloodied hand as the bodies of several noble men that he saw that were surrounding [Name] during the ball were scattered through the dungeon floor.
Karl gulped, seeing the Emperor's jealousy, possessive nature come through was scary. No one knew of the Emperor's dangerous nature whenever it comes to his beloved [Name]. Only he, Marquess Karl, knows of Sovieshu dangerous nature.
[Name] doesn't know and just thinks he's overly possessive or jealous, but it was a limit that nobody should cross over and Sovieshu was too far off from the line to come back to.
"Let the dogs eat their bodies." Sovieshu said as Karl nodded, the Emperor went off as Karl released the dogs into the cell and ate the dead bodies up.
His footsteps and the sounds of the dogs howling and eating the flesh was the constant sound that always comes from the dungeon, the part of the dungeon where no one else knows.
He arrived back into the palace as maids, servants and knights greeted him. Sovieshu arrived at his headquarters and saw his beloved [Name] brushing her hair while humming, she was already wearing her night gown. Ready to hit the hay for the knight.
Sovieshu quietly closed the door and wrapped his arms around her, burying his face against her neck, catching her caught off guard. [Name] looked at Sovieshu and giggled as she put the brush down on the vanity mirror.
"I love you..." "I love you too..."

the remarried empress updated today and idk if i want to read it. it's kind of fallen off hard.
these last few chapters have surrounded rashta and her punishment, which is fair. however, it feels... unearned? i'm not saying rashta doesn't deserve retribution, she did some horrible things, but i also know that she would not have been able to do these things had soveshiu not allowed her the power to do so.
this man put a former slave on the empress seat without giving her formal lessons beforehand. the lessons should have started when he hatched his stupid plan, not after navier left. even if it was only going to be for a year, having her go from no formal education to the highest seat of power for a woman is actually insane.
and no one seems to bring up the fact that rashta is a former slave. fans often talk about her worming her way into soveishu's good graces, how dare she become a mistress, etc... but that is not her fault. look me in the eye and tell me that, even if she wanted to refuse, that it would have been easy to say no to an emperor as a slave. there was an inherit power imbalance here. i do not blame her for becoming one.
when rashta stabbed that maid in her attempt to escape, soveishu knew of the plan. he chose not to stop it and instead gave the information to duke tunia so that he could intervene. if he had stopped it, the maid would not have been stabbed and that would not have even become a part of the trial.
and of course, rashta did a variety of shitty things without soveishu's interaction but i ultimately blame him for raising the station of a woman who was unfit and unprepared to be on the throne. none of this would have happened if he wasn't an egomaniac buying his own bullshit. if he was getting an equal amount of consequence, i'd be fine, but i know he won't so all of it will be foisted on the woman he made his mistress.

I caved and read Remarried Empress because of your post and honestly I strongly agree that the fandom is very nasty towards Rashta. I mean yeah, the story is very much set up to frame her as a villain no matter what she does since the Empress is the main character, but I feel like Rashta also has some strong points as a character and she's reacting like anyone would to some of the offences she receives from the Empress (imo the story rationalizes why Navier is mean towards Rashta a bit too much for my liking). Idk, I know it's popular to pit women against each other in romance stories so there's a scapegoat, but it's a bit infuriating when most of the fandom demonizes Rashta when she's literally just a gal who's out of her depth.
I am in desperate need for a story along these lines where you can have women in opposition to each other but neither are demonised. Please... I just want a story with flawed women who the fandom appreciates for their complexity....
I've said it in the comments of another post, but it always bears repeating that Rashta was born a slave! Slavery is one of the greater evils of society! She was physically and mentally scarred, sexually abused, had her baby stolen from her, and hounded by her slaver even after gaining freedom! Of course, she's doing everything she can not to go back to that! Like, I know suffering doesn't automatically justify your actions, but y'know, I don't blame her for trying to win the protection and love of literally the most powerful person in the country.
Navier has every right not to like Rashta, but dear god, the fact that slavery exists while she's the Empress is not a good look for her, and Navier is my favourite character!
If the author really wanted a story about a manipulative homewrecker getting her just deserts, she should have been anything other than a former slave. Otherwise, you need to treat both Navier and Rashta as two sympathetic characters in a morally-grey conflict.
In the end, Soveishu is the villain of The Remarried Empress. He refuses to tell Navier he thinks she's infertile. He refuses to tell her he loves her romantically and wants that relationship. He refuses to understand Navier's situation, and he puts Rashta in danger without care, abandoning her the moment his ploy to make Navier jealous blows up in his face. Unlike Rashta, he doesn't have any sympathetic motivation to justify his actions. He just wants Navier to be his obedient wife, accepting whatever he does without respecting her intelligence by talking to her. Soveishu is not treated like a good person, but frankly, the narrative doesn't treat him like the central antagonist he is. No, that spot goes to Rashta because she's a homewrecking harlot who's too poor to belong in high society, despite everything to the contrary.
#remarried empress#not art#i love my sister for tolerating my multi-hour rants on this topic#remarried empress is just *so* close to the type of story i want#i love social games#i love politicking#i love exploring women's roles in society having a focus on manipulation for personal protection#learning that the story ends with rashta dead and her children taken away from her honestly dug a pit in my chest#in a better world her ending would be living a life loving her children in peace#away from the stress and manipulation and opulence#finding a lover who will love and support her after everything's she gone through#again i love navier#but why does she get to become empress with a loving husband and children while rashta dies alone and abandoned

Reasons Soveishu x Eckles should happen
1. It would put Soveishu in a less powerful position , as I'm assuming the Eastern empire is homophobic based on Rashtas reaction to Mckella and Ergi, and the the time period in general 2. I want to see Rashta and Eckles become friends, I think at first Rashta would be suspicious and paranoid as she doesnt want her position to fall away but eventuall she would be allies/friends with Eckles 3. Eckles deserves better

Was Rashta's character butchered and unnecessarily hated?
i ranted sm on this topic and i could still go on about it forever. YES IT DID. her character is the most compelling and complex but yet the most hated character. shes literally smart and so cunning, imagine what she could have been if she had been given the same resources as navier. shes also a victim in many cases like men exploiting her and using her for their own wants. like soveishu, duke ergi, viscount. shes been betrayed so many times and the author fails to showcase anything abt it without showing blantant favoritism towards navier. you can't write a good villian when you show favoritism towards the hero. like you gotta treat them as characters like these characters are just people making bad decisions with good intents. rashta was a character who wanted to just live a good life but just lost herself after getting power. she wanted power to protect herself and she made bad decisions that started off with intent of protecting herself. and i gen wish the author went more into her character and her morals but it was butchered to just make navier seem so girlboss.

So,asura. I know we just met but what do you now think of the remarried empress and what makes you dropped it? Personally I dropped it due to the toxic webtoon comments and the fact I am baffled the story just slaps Gray morality in it but they didn't do research because Gray morality means you need both side of the characters to have consequences.
At first when I saw Remarried Empress was released. I expected that it would make Navier divorce then remarry Sovieshu just like how this was answer.
But Nah, it was complete different and I did gave a try to read it. Then it became too bothersome from comments having so much toxicity towards characters without analysing character designs, action, behavior and background. The first character I did read was Sovieshu Vict. When I first saw A strange Bird came into Navier's Chamber, I was shocked to see it's really does resembles Male Lead, Heinrey Alles Lazlo but having two character with similar hair color like Heinrey and Navier... does look like half Siblings and it bothers me alot (also very uncomfortable). Heinrey as Birdshifter bragged into Someone's Chamber without permission, use puppy eyes to sway others, Butt naked around while in birdform, stealing mana stones from Eastern Empire, planning to make Navier Divorces Sovieshu, sending his Friend Duke Ergi to Rashta as tutor and make her life Hell, doesn't it sound cheating when Navier and Heinrey secretly having close together (not kissing and sex but both slowly getting intimate each other.), planing to secretly war on some neighboring nation/country/empire for his greed, call himself a gentleman. It's BIG NO AND READ FLAG OR DEATH FLAG. And also why the Hell he mind Sovieshu's mistress business and not HIS OWN BROTHER HAVING 3-4 CONCUBINES and EMPRESS KRISTA?!
The chemistry between them isn't working at all (in my taste, Some people can agree with this opinion.)
What I liked couple was Sovieshu and Navier only if Every character has given proper Some senses. Now I only liked Fanon Sovieshu.
After reading some Spoilers from TRE novel version, I dropped everything, manhwa and Novel because you know how the story went little to most off. I only liked is their side stories. I won't give any Spoilers. I have been simp for Sovieshu for straight 4 years and hoping to change everything but it went too far after seeing comment demanding and slandering character for no reasons. That I never touched TRE manhwa since 2 years ago.
I feel no enthusiasm towards TRE but sticks to Cold Fanon Sovieshu who has no feelings for every Character of TRE.
