So I found these gender bent redraws of remarried empress characters. (Not my art)

(I know the fourth picture looks like Kosair and Navier just swapped roles but no, it really is just them gender bent)

And it got me wondering "How would this even work?"

One of the biggest catalysts to really push the original Sovieshu to divorce his wife was because Rashta got pregnant, which in this case, would actually be because empress Sovi got pregnant outside of marriage and, well, considering it'd be a woman taking in another man, humiliating her husband, and getting pregnant with her lovers child, that would be way more stigma towards the imperial family.

Hell, the divorce might even cause more problems than it already did originally since Navier would be a man.

So, here's my attempt at how a gender bent remarried empress would look like. First off, I'm gonna give everyone a new name so I don't have to say "gender bent *****" over and over.

Sovieshu is renamed to Sophie. It sounds similar to "Sovi"

Navier is renamed to Javier since they both are pronounced similarly.

Originally I was gonna rename Ergi to Erina, but not only did that not really suit a slime ball like him, but when I think of the name "Erina" I think of the Erina from Jojos bizarre adventure and she's too much of a cutie patootie to be associated in any way with a scumbag like Ergi, so his name is instead Erlene. (Same name as one of my ocs, lol)

For Rashta, I thought of "Rashton" But I really REALLY did not like that name, it doesn't really roll off the tongue like Rashta does, so I went with Raymond instead, it sounded more of a common name instead of something super fancy so I thought it fit

And last but not least, Heinrey is now Henrietta, pretty obvious why.

Plot wise: Sophie and Raymond would basically be like Penelope and Eckles but somehow, they find a way to be even worse since Raymond would be Sophie's male lead in this case. As a woman, Sophie was already disrespected by many of her own supposed "allies" as the first woman to rule the empire in her own right and most would instead see Javier as the true sovereign, much to her frustration. This would be her motive to find a new lover instead of a loveless marriage being the cause because now, Sophie's motives are to remind her people that Javier is easily replaceable while she is not.

Sophie and Javier were originally much happier together but as their marriage has been nothing but conflict after conflict whenever it was political respect, Sophie failing to give birth to any heirs, or Javier distancing himself throughout the years, she began to resent her husband and desperately wanted a man who would love her the way she's been yearning for so long.

That's where Raymond comes in, Sophie would take on a goddess persona to play into the role as Raymonds savior who rescued him from the clutches of slavery while she confused his utter devotion to pleasing her as true obsession when it was really just him overcompensating so he'll never become a slave again. Obviously, their relationship is toxic as it was originally but Raymonds fall from power would be different since it was Sophie who would give birth so they can't really accuse him of trying to sneak his own child onto the throne when he is the emperor consort, what they can accuse him of though is being a sleazy criminal who "trapped" the empress after he "failed" at trapping the daughter of his slave owner, Alena Rimwell. In reality, we know that Raymond would have been a victim of sexual assault who wouldn't have been able to say no to his slave masters but this society already doesn't believe that Rashta as a WOMAN could ever be a victim of assault, let alone if she were a man. Sophie does know that what her second being accused of isn't the truth but what does she care? She's been humiliated enough and Raymond has gotten too toxic for her anyway so she takes the chance to divorce and dethrone him and goes with it.

In other words: Imagine Sophie as Penelope Eckhart except if she had less of her good qualities and more of FMDF Diana's plot cancer.

I don't really know what to say about the rest of the characters since they'd all be the same personality wise. Though, if we are looking at this au through the perspective that Sophie would be the FL, then I could see the fanbase trashing on Erlene and Henrietta for the wrong reasons. Not because they are sociopaths actively trying to destory another empire but because they flirted with Javier.
