Watching the general populous of Webtoon hate Rashta from The Remarried Empress so violently, to the point of making her ridculing nickname a synonym for The Other Woman archetype, is really exhausting for a number of reasons, with the main one being that there are numerous female main leads of similar stories that fit that characterization of her more.
I love The Remarried Empress but the readers love to blame Rashta for EVERYTHING that happens in it, when at the end of the day, Rashta is just an antagonist. I know! Shocking! Rashta is not the driving force of the story! You know who is? SOVIESHU.
Sovieshu has always been the main villain. He is the one with all the power, he is the one who created a situation that pit these women against each other. Rashta was a slave because her father was a criminal, being Soveishu's mistress was a means of survival. Like, of course she sucks ass at scheming! She never had an education, and Sovieshu stalled on giving her one because he was ATTRACTED TO HER CHILDISH DEMEANOR. Soveishu liked Rashta because she was what Soveishu wanted from Navier and she sucked up to him in the ways he wanted! Because she needed to in order to survive! Her mistake was becoming paranoid, arrogant, and cruel to continuously provoke Navier, but that was also at the urging of another man: Duke Ergi! Because Rashta is uneducated and vulnerable and she thinks he's her only support system! She went through the trouble of ousting Navier at Ergi's suggestion and Soveishu began to just use Rashta as a baby factory, because as Rashta became like Navier to survive the political world and as he realized he lost Navier, he stopped caring about her. He never saw her as a human, he only saw her as a slate to project on the child version of Navier he was still in love with.
Now, i'm not gonna deny the heinous shit Rashta has done nor am I defending it, she is the antagonist, she does do cruel things that can't be excused, and that's factual. But the tragedy of her is that she was set up to fail by every single man in her life. She started seeing the women around her as competition because of those men. She never once had power and her frustration at her powerlessness and her disillusionment is valid. Navier was protected by her status as a noble, but Rashta had nothing and watching her crash and burn is satisfying but also sad. In another comic, she would be the female lead, and she would be safe and happy, she would be loved. To see the fandom boil her down to some man stealing bitch is really sad because it takes all the focus from Sovieshu. Instead of ripping him apart for using a system to abuse the women in his life, everyone rips apart Rashta for lashing out as a victim of that system.
You know who fits this dynamic more though? Diana from For My Derelict Favorite. Diana is a saintess with healing powers who was mistreated for being a commoner and married the Crown Prince. Hestia, the protagonist, targets her for revenge for a numerous amount of reasons, but what makes their conflict interesting is that Hestia is her equal. They were both commoners, they both are beloved by the world's god, they both rose in their station. The difference is that Diana is everything Rastha is percieved as. She still acts like a victim of the class system, despite the fact she's the crown princess and now has power and luxury. She looks down on the other nobles for their spending and ridicule of the lower class, yet doesn't realize she's become just like them. She casts aside Caelus for killing the novel's OG villains to save the empire, but has no problem acting like nothings wrong despite her treatment driving him to try and take his own life. She thinks herself objectively right and special and the minute anyone criticizes her, she turns on them, her husband included. She makes it a goal to steal Caelus from Hestia in order to hurt her and validate her behavior, thinking Caelus still loves her over Hestia. When Hestia makes soap accessible for the common people and makes advancments in changing the nobility's views of the lower class, Diana nitpicks her for it, because she can't stand to see Hestia take the limelight. She uses her power and privilege to bully and abuse others and then runs crying when she's called out on it.
The difference between these stories is clear. Rashta has no power and isn't the main villain, she doesn't have equal standing as Navier. She does a lot of her actions out of desperation for love and to survive while still being cruel. Diana and Hestia come from equal status; Diana is the one in the most power. She abuses the systems meant to mistreat those like her for her own benefit and nothing more. Helios is the antagonist while Diana is the villain, because it is Diana's actions that push the plot, akin to Soveishu. Helios and Rashta make things difficult, but they're really only along for the ride, and their interference in the plot happens because of the villains their characters serve.

so what if I per se wanted to make another long fic. What If I per se wanted it to have each chapter be inspired and borderline following events from Epic:the musical but it’s Jay’s off screen journey in DR. I’ll outline it saga by saga to demonstrate my idea.
Also no same time frames won’t apply because mentally I could not handle Jay being away from everyone for twenty years. Let alone write that myself. I’m weak and want him living a very full rest of his life.
and pretty much some characters don’t have perfect parallels so they’re very interchangeable.
this is long.
Troy saga- I’m thinking this mostly could have chapters/songs 1-4 be on a field mission Jay is sent to command by the administration. Maybe around or in imperium because they were trying to gain intelligence on the “unethical energy source”.
Also Jay keeps his yin pendant and knows that he’s either married or engaged. He has no clue who but he’s given her a name in his head. For reference sake Penelope.
the issue is my dude has no child. So there is no chance he should mention having one.
Unless he got vaguely stuck with one post memory wipe. Maybe a literal infant at first, but would roughly now be 3-5 by the events of S1. He is left in the administration.
Or we go Nya pregnancy before the merge route, but she found out a week before the merge. They made little cards to tell everyone and he kept it in his wallet that also had his ID. So he knows he has a child, but he has no idea where that is.
because Telemachus doesn't actually know who his father is and I would like to keep that so I can keep the vibe. Acidentally created a need for a child oc, shit.
warriors of the mind would be hard to translate but I could just treat it like a dream sequence. Probably Nya or smth. Maybe she is a figure he thinks he makes up in his head who only appears when he sleeps and he befriends.
he just assumes he’s crazy because realm of madness and all.
cyclops saga- could easily be that second half of that mission where they do find something willing to wipe out his people. However at the end there is this thing where Odysseus is cursed by the cyclops and Poseidon follows him every where. Now because no character is going to be consistent parallels, what if the cyclops was just Ras’s master in hiding for reasons. And also I guess the Poseidon stand in would mostly also be Ras. And one out of three Zeus appearances.
No, I like it so I’m keeping it.
and my good bye could be some dream sequence after he makes it home to his office. It’s of the Nya figure being a manifestation of his own disappointment and is like “okay I’m out”
months have now passed. Maybe a year.
storm saga- Easily could be the entire way back to the realm of madness on the mysterium mission after his appearance in season 2 pt1. People lost their portal devices that day. They make a stop at the cloud kingdom for a deal to ensure safe passage home because writers of fate and such and they give him a thingy/ Euphrasia?. Wind bag. Master of wind. Eh?
Then boom Ras. Shows up like “you hurt my master now I have to kill you.”
people die once more.
Circe saga- I feel that most of it could work out like actually story. Get on island, save men from magic, Hermes is replaced by a helpful messanger dragon of sorts, figure out a way home. Bonus points the witch try’s to prove that all men suck by trying to seduce Jay and he’s just like. “But my hypothetical probably real wife...” That he can barely remember.
point is they’re directed to the remains of the cursed realm or departed realm.
underworld saga- they go to underworld. See parts of their squad. The dead ones. (Bonus points for fitting in an elpeanor moment). Now, tree’s a whole thing with Odysseus seeing his mother. I don’t know if I want it to be that way. Granted grief killing Edna, who was already old, could punch a lot considering he doesn’t even remember her, just vaguely recognises the voice of his mother. Anyway the go see a prophet like. “You can go home this way. And yes you do have a wife/fiancé. However I see her with a very creepy dude.”
yes it’s in the same way as the play.
also the chorus just works so well.
“I see a song of past romance, I see the sacrifice of man, I see tales of betrayals and a brother’s final stand. I see beyond the brink of death, I see you draw your final breath. I see a man who gets to make it home alive. And it’s no longer you.”
Anyway guess who decides to embrace his inner monster.
-thunder saga
Once more very simple one. Go through danger the same way, shit Ras. Thunder bringer is the point where Jay switches sides.
-wisdom saga
this one I have trouble with solely for plot reasons. it mainly because of Telemachus’s role and the suitor plot line. At best I could have it do we can make it the tournament or sources.
I've decided unkown pregnancy route for the kid's origins because it's much easier than the other version. Point is Little boy loves his mother and can't wait to meet his father. Telemachus has a whole battle with antinous over saying natsy shit about his mother, later Athena helps.
Consider this, the kid, still to be named, aged around 6, maybe 7, actually picks a fight with a random child, who disrespects Nya in some way, and who has clearly been raised too violently. At this point the general "punch your way out of this one" conclusion can not be reached but instead replaced with Nya picking up her child and leaving, telling him he should know better than to resort to violence, and instead use his heart.
The entirety of legendary- we'll be fine, for plot aligning reasoning would be the kid feeling akward in the crowded and new environment and being extra vigelant of creeps or general bad people. Also most of we'll be fine probably wouldn't apply well, but we keep Nya telling the child about Jay and how similar they are.
love in paradise would be very hard. Unless....
It's literally a one off where Jay finds himself stuck on an island. Probably stepped on a portal device and is now completely stuck, with no way home. Or even knowing where home is anymore. Instead of regular events, lets say Calypso- stand-in is actually a powerful being that helps him with clearing his mind and healing a bit because the man is a wreck. She's forcing him to self care and he wants to leave. Also I'm gonna give her mind related powers, kinda like neuro.
God games is fun because I could have that just be Nya finding a way to call on the source dragons, specifically energy and begging for some devine intervention. She has to convince many dragons.
Vengance-
I'm not sorry for loving you could either be another dream about Nya that helps him realise she was being genuine. Or It's the calypso stand in who is a shape shifter who tries to convine him to stay by shaping herself into "who he loves most" even though he doesn't know that is and just takes it as a further sign to go and pay the ninja a visit.
The same messanger dragon that helped him with the witch comes by to provide assistance across the sea and to the shore then leaves.
Now this could go down the forbidden Jay route, but here me out, he does find Nokt and the forbidden five randomly and kinda goes off on attacking them. At this point he'll electrocute anything in his way. Then Ras and Arin show up, the tiger man fully healed. Less intentionally and more they all ended up in one place type thing. Fight ensues. A storm approaches.
Arin is encouraged to hide. He actually comprehends the power scaling he's up against and does just that.
During the fight instead of finishing Ras off themselves, the five all stratigically retreat. The strength and at some point they realised you don't want to be on the other end of an electrical shock. Maybe Jay kills the weakest one. for funsies.
He goes for a beaten Ras next, aiming for the kill. He tries his best at least, but doesn't bother to confirm before taking the cloak and hat of one of the five that had been lying on the ground, and walking off to whereever home is.
He notices Arin, does bother much to question the kid on too much, and asks him where the ninja live. Arin just points to the vague direction of the monastery and says "On the mountain outside Ninjago, can't miss it."
And so Jay walks.
thats all I got so far. Until the Ithica saga comes out I guess.
I was very loose with vengance but that saga is all about just getting the vengance.

Just watched the episode and I’m going to have a lot of thoughts for you, most of them probably bordering on incoherence (LOL) so this is your last chance to nope on out of this post because I’m going to go ahead and put everything else behind a cut to save the eyes that do not want to see any  spoilers at all.  Unlike mine, that very much wanted to see but in a lot of cases?  Could not see shit, but I digress.
Shae’s stream of consciousness coming at you in 3-2-1.
First of all, can I saw how good it is to have my show back again?  Like, no.  I don’t quite have Season 5 levels of excitement about the new/last season, but it is definitely nice to have all these characters back.
So all these thoughts of mine.  Okay.  Bear with me because there be a whole lot of them, lol.
My immediate impression as the episode opened was WHOA.  Such a cool shot of Daryl with one light wing, one dark wing (representing the two sides to Daryl maybe--the man of honor versus the man he was raised to be, hmm?) looking out over some dark vista of something.  Seriously.  It’s dark.  My room is also dark at the moment and still I was squinting to see.  To make out what I’m “looking” at.  I really, really hope the rest of this season isn’t this hard to make out.
Is that a tank?  Kinda sorta a callback to Rick’s first episode?  If so, cool.  If not, well.  Us fans have always put way more thought into things.  For real.  Change my mind.
Holy intense eye contact, Batman!  Daryl Dixon has literally never looked at anyone--not BethusConLeah--in quite the same smoldering way as he looks at Carol.  It’s next level.  I don’t know why people be fooling themselves into thinking different.
Let’s see.  I can make out--besides Daryl, Maggie, and that face mask dude I already forgot the name of--Kelly, Magna, Jerry (who’s that with him?), and Carol.  Sorry.  My world, like Daryl’s, inevitably narrows to Carol.  She’s loking fierce and fine AF per usual.
Was that Rosita I noticed rewinding to relive Daryl eye-fucking Carol?
I’m guessing this is the army base they talked about in 10C.
That Walker perking up like “I smell food--pancakes and bacon and oohhhh” has me giggling inappropriately right off the bat.  WTF.
Look at all my fabulous ladies tiptoeing through that Walker minefield.  And Carol spotting that gun that might be useful right away.  Listen, if you don’t think her mind ain’t always ten steps ahead of everybody else’s, you’d be wrong.
So.  Are these Walkers just so old and feeble not even the call of fresh meat attracts them?  Because just tiptoeing through their midst without the knockoff Lady Gaga meatsuits or skin masks has never really worked before that I can remember.
I just want to see most of this season.  Is that really too much to ask?  Don’t X-Files and Game of Thrones us, Angela.  Please and thank you very fucking much.
Okay.  Is the one drop of blood thing making anybody else have 28 Days Later vibes?  Kinda?  Sorta?  No?  Just me?  Okay then.  Carry on.
Wait a minute, though.  How they be explaining how Daryl keeeps acquiring all these new tats all the time?  Hmm?  It’s like they just quit giving a shit about continuity in these latter seasons.
I mean.  Do Walkers sleep now?  LMAO.  What is this?  I guess they’re constantly evolving?
There’s my baby Lydia.  Love my smol bean.
Alright though.  I love to see the ladies of TWD kick some ass.  It’s very gratifying.  Gimps would never.  Thank you, Angela.
Clever, resourceful, calm and collected, quick thinking Carol to the rescue!  Seriously.  Her haters must be withering away inside with absolute envy.
Hey, ya’ll.  Remember when Carol was still mastering her sharpshooting skills at the Prison yard and shot at Rick’s feet?  Her little “sorry, sorry”?  LOL.  If Rick could only see her now.  Wait.  He already knew what so many of his stans refuse to acknowledge--Carol=ultimate survivor and true savior to the group many times over.
Maggie’s got herself a gun, too.  Go my badass girls.
Of course, Carol’s got everybody’s back.  Of fucking course, Daryl’s got hers even when everybody else seem frozen in some kind of awe or stupification or something.  Microcosm of the whole damn show right there.
Carol’s like “here’s your knives, love of my life.”
Eh.  Maybe that’s just me.
Nah.  She’s totally thinking it, too.
YAS!  YAS!  Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride with the top billing.  How very far my babies have come.
Listen.  I miss all the characters we’ve lost.  Absolutely.  But I love the ones that are still with us, that have been with us for so very long so hard.  Whether I love their stories or decisions or not.
Is that THE Alexandria sign?  That sign’s been through some shit.
DOG!  Daryl kneeling to embrace our Grimes babies has me all up in my feels.  And how cute is Dog getting all excited and making sure he’s the first one there to welcome back, Daddy?
Hershel is literally just as puppy dog cute as Glenn ever was.  Really some Grade A casting.
What did Maggie call Mr. T?  Ducky?  Dougie?  Sometimes with Maggie?  I really cannot tell.  Anyway.  He’s Mr. T. for me until I find out differently, probably through rewatching with close captioning, lol.
Maggie’s got more people.  So.  Some new redshirts to sacrifice for plot purposes.  I don’t know if I should bother learning their names or not.
I seem to remember Meridian being mentioned in one of the episode synopses.
Sophia’s hair tie around Carol’s neck will never fail to be an emotional throat punch.  My heart.
“They come at night and by the time you see them, you’re already dead.”  Welp.  Guess that means we ain’t seeing shit for at least this first third of the season, lol.  Very horror-eque though.
“You’re leaving to fight ghosts.”  Aaron, to Maggie.  So I see Aaron’s the type to get the hell outta Dodge when the Boogeyman comes calling, hahaha.  Least he was.  In the old world.
Rosita’s pissed off expression at Gabe’s decision to volunteer for the so-called suicide mission gives me life.
My baby Carol is tired AF of suicide missions.  You can tell.  Also?  Methinks she has something to prove to Daryl here.  Or at least feels like she does.
Dog with his little tactical vest.  I love it.
I guess I get why they had Carol and Rosita stay behind.  They had to more evenly split up the badassery to make things more fair and balanced, lol.
Okay.  So Negan’s definitely earned everybody’s disdain.  But they’re being woefully short-sighted by not at least hearing the dude out.  Isn’t he at least native to the area?
“That is God telling us to turn around.”  I’m actually on Negan’s side with this one, but Gabe answering him with “I’m pretty sure he would have run that past me first” has me howling with laughter.  Father Gabe has gone straight up savage in these last couple of seasons.  Rosita’s influence, perhaps?
I see what Angela is doing.  Trying to make Negan the voice of reason.  In this particular case?  It’s kind of working.  I’m still ultimately on Maggie’s side with this though BECAUSE GLENN.
Imagine showing up to work and unironically dressing like a storm trooper every day.  Excuse me while I LOL.
Even in the ZA, there’s bullshit paperwork.
“Pumpkin colored spacesuit.”  Good one, Ezekiel.
LOL forever.  I love Princess.
“Michonne.  Our Michonne shut people out of Alexandria for years.”  Timely reminder that choices aren’t always perfect.  Neither are people.
WTF is reprocessing?  Sounds ominous.  LMAO at Eugene’s “Okay.  We gotta go.”
What in the actual hell with all those bagged, squirming undead?  Creepy AF in that subway tunnel.
Should I just go ahead and call that the Easter bunny?  We’ve had some version of it pop up since Season 1.
Is it stubborn pride with Maggie or what?  Why go through with something when all signs point toward the wisdom of stopping?  You can argue that she’s acting similarly to Carol last season, but there’s a huge difference here folks.  Carol did her damndest to Lone Wolf that shit and minimize the danger to those she loved.  Maggie’s straight up enlisting those she “cares about” to carry out her mission of revenge or vengeance, what have you. Let’s see if she gets near the amount of hate for it.  Personally, I don’t blame her for her feelings one bit.  They are valid.  But her knowingly drawing the others into the game?  That’s my sticking point.  That’s how she and Carol differ, even if some people refuse to see or accept it.  Anyway.  Hopping right on off my soapbox.
“Why don’t you get up on your little tippy toes and try?”  Omigosh, I’d dying.  When I tell you I about passed out with laughter, I do not exaggerate.  I should hate Negan forever and I do.  Really.  But I adore JDM and he frequently makes me LOL.  He’s made Negan entertaining if not completely redeemable since Angela took over and more layered so I say kudos.
He has a point about Maggie playing dictator.  Damn you, show, for slanting the writing just that smidgen that makes Negan make sense over his victim.  I guess, though, it’s better this way.  Gives both characters more shades of gray.
“He’s a dick but he makes sense.”  I feel like this is Angela calling us all out when we dare to harbor any lasting resentment toward Negan for what he did to Glenn.
Speaking of--Negan.  You deserved Daryl’s punch to the mouth.  You just went a bridge too damn far.
“Keep pushing me, Negan.  Please.”  Warning shots fired, Asshole.  You better watch yourself around the Widow Rhee.
Have I mentioned how much I love Princess?  Her shipping the Commonwealth guards is killing me, lol.  I can’t wait ‘til she meets Carol and Daryl.  She’s going to have their number in two seconds flat.
I like Ezekiel and Princess as a duo.  I’m not saying romantically necessarily.  I just like them in scenes together because they’re fun.  There’s sort of a protective indulgence Ezekiel seems to telegraph whenever they’re in scenes together.  Like he’s like don’t hurt this one.  I don’t know.  For all these words I’ve written, I can’t quite find the ones to adequately describe what I mean.
The wall of the lost gives me such Battlestar Galactica feels.  What sad thoughts it inspires.
Eugene in that Commonwealth gear.  Omigosh, lol.  So did they just sneak up and take Princess’s little Commonwealth ship’s gear when they were sneaking off on their own to have a quickie?
Princess finding that note for Yumiko on the wall actually gave me chills.  Yeah.  I’m easy.  Just the suggestion of someone getting reunited with lost family gets me all up in my feels.  Yumiko saying “I have to stay”?  I felt that.
Oh no.  Dog ran off!  Somebody protect my favorite fictional puppy.  Of course, Daryl goes after him.  He’s always been the sweet one.  Merle said it.
Eh.  Negan taking Maggie’s hand at the end there would have smacked too much of Negan Sue and Maggie’s biggest plot of the season would have been prematurely dealt with so I get why they did what they did.  But c’mon.  It’s not really that big of a cliffhanger, is it?
Okay, so Angela calls those sleeping beauty Walkers “Lurkers” and I get it.  Apparently they’re a bigger deal in the comics, but I really don’t remember seeing them all that much on the actual show.  Somebody jog my memory.
Of fucking course, you can actually see what’s happening in the inside the episode clips.  I wish we could choose to view the episode with that lighting because some of us be blind.  And this time I mean in the more literal sense.  Not the figurative one.
Anyway.  I’m going to stop trying to write a novel for ya’ll and move on to better things.  Like maybe a nap.  Maybe some early dinner.  I don’t know.  I’m tired AF and need a little recharge.
Before I go, though?  Overall impression of the episode?  I liked it.  There were parts that I loved (all the ladies being badass, every second of Carol, Daryl reuniting with the Grimes babies and Dog, all things Princess, some of Negan’s one-liners about had me busting a gut, Rosita serving looks, Kelly and Lydia getting to be badass too) and parts I didn’t love (not being able to see a damn thing, Angela trying to tip the scales in Negan’s favor, not enough Carol or Aaron or Rosita, no reunion between Aunt Carol and the Grimes babies even though that picture floating around suggests it was at least shot, not being able to see a damn thing, all the Alexandria people playing follow the leader for Maggie when she’s been gone 6 years and Daryl’s right there--hell, even Father G deserves the honor over her because it’s obvious they’re not exactly on the same wavelength anymore).
I don’t know about anybody else, but I’m just glad to have our show back.
Later, lovelies.

Unbelievably Outlandish– Part 1
Summary:  Before starting down a new crossroads, the Reader goes onto an adventure of literary traveling. Suddenly tossed into an unbelievable story that has swept the world, The Outlander Series itself. How will a twenty first century woman survive?
Note: I own no characters, except reader, clearly this is based off the lovely book series Outlander by Diana Gabaldon and tv show. This follows more the tv show, but it’s far from accurate. I’m going to try to get better with using less proper English, but who knows maybe I’ll get into Scottish slang.
Pairing: Jamie Fraser x Female Reader
Words: 1900
Warning: Angst, playfulness, cursing, slow start
Tumblr media
It has been a long time coming, you haven’t been on a real vacation since you graduated high school. You joined the Marines immediately, went into training and university. With you, it was always work, work, work. For you, it made sense since your brother was a Navy Seal and you both didn’t really have family. And you didn’t stay anywhere long enough to make super close friends to vacation with. But this trip, this was for you and only you.
You got your degrees in psychology, battle strategies, and world cultures, but your true love was literature. You made it this far living a pretty isolated life because of your brother and your books. You generally just loved to read, so after leaving the Marines, before you started to find your new pathway you said you were going to take this vacation around Europe stopping in different places described or lived in by some of your favorite authors. Jane Austen, Shakespeare, Sir Doyle, Thomas Malory, etc. And it’s been amazing seeing all these places that inspired your idols, imagining how your favorite fictional characters lived.
And here, alas you were in Scotland. Not necessarily because one of your favorite fictional characters lived here or your favorite author grew up near here, but because of your brother.  He wanted you to explore where you both came from, he felt it would help understand life before you both lost your parents. Plus, he was a huge history buff – it was his hobby outside the Seals.
He told you all about the battles and culture amongst the decades before us. He told you about our Irish and Scottish ancestors. He’d tell you, you can’t have a name like Y/N O’Mulligain and not think of the Irish.
There was this nearby village you were passing through. An author named Diana Gabaldon wrote a romance novel based on this rock formation. Your old college roommate wrote a thesis paper about historically accurate romance novels and pop culture. You thought, what the hell, since your here minus well check it out.
It was strange at first, wondering through this supposed magical place. People clearly flocked here for Outlander’s popularity. You more enjoyed watching the people. You sat against a tree, pulled out a sandwich from your bag, and watched the middle age woman touch these rocks like they were the rock hard abs of a character from Outlander. It was quite amusing. You liked to think your mother would be doing the same thing if she were still alive.
“You must not be a fan, girly,” you look up to an older woman, clearly Scottish from her accent.
Shaking your head, standing up to shake her hand, “Is it that obvious,” you laugh, “I’m Y/N. Just a tourist, watching other tourist. That obvious hugh?”
“Mary, deary,” she grinned answering you with her name while look up at you. You were about five three, but this woman had to be four feet something tall because she was tiny, “Just by the way you’re gazing all around, a girl looking for her own adventure, not through someone else’s eyes or story, but of your own.”
“You get all that from just looking at me,” you laughed, looking at her curiously. You loved people like this, authentic and wily – it was usually the case with old people.
“It’s the glimmer in your eye,” she gripped your chin softly, shaking it.
You laughed, smiling down at her, “May I ask you a question? Do you believe the tales of this place? I know the Scottish culture has a lot of tall tales and superstitions, but a story like that?”
“Aaa,” she nodded her head, “A skeptic,” she nodded, “These people wandering about, they don’t really believe in the tale. But I believe in the magic of this place, it just doesn’t work from anyone. It’s for the special.”
Watching her with amusement and skepticism, you laugh nodding your head, “I hope I didn’t offend you with my question.”
“No, of course not dear – though I believe in the magic of this place. I mostly come to watch these woman fawning over these rocks. I like to bet on which woman will kiss one of those moldy old things.” You laughed so loud, she grinned up at you, “I am about to go home to my hunny Wallace, but you stay here for me? Those three woman over there,” you looked in the direction she was pointing, “I believe they are each going to lick one of these things.”
Laughing again, you nodded, “I’ll keep a close eye on them. It was an absolute pleasure, ma’am,” she gripped your hand tightly for a second before releasing.
You sat back, glancing at those women laughing, “And dear,” you look back up to her, “Most people will be leaving to their beds or finding a pub, but you should stay. While the sun is setting – this place will give you the most magical sights.”
She truly intrigued you, “Of course ma’am, thank you again.”
“Enjoy your adventure lass,” she grinned once more, walking off down the path.
She was right, people started to trickle out. Husbands getting annoyed or bored, ladies feeling exhausted, or people just fearsome of loss of light – they just left group by group. You were left alone eventually, starring at the sun sinking into the horizon. She was right again, Scotland was magical with sights. You took a mental picture of this moment – the smooth silence, the color the sky made, and just being one with this experience. Your life was never slow, silent, or peaceful. You had always lived in the rush of things. But here, you sat taking in this moment. You felt like you could stay in this moment forever.
The sun eventually went down and you were met with near darkness – which exception of the full moon. You collected your things and got ready to leave. And it dawned on you – you came all this way and have never even touched these rocks. The book aside, these rocks have had legends and tales for centuries. You should respect the stories and culture. With one touch, maybe you’ll feel the stories, tales, and people that touched it before you.
It felt odd to reach out and touch the stone. It was cool and surprising smooth. You laughed at the thought of all the tongues that touched this exact spot. And with a single breathe, everything grew black and all the air punched out of you.
Next thing you felt was the slam of the ground and your oxygen returning to your lungs. The sun from the tree burned your eyes. And you heard it, gun shots. You thought you were having another Post-Traumatic Stress attack, but the second bang brought you to reality. And you started to run, your bag still on your back, darting through the trees. You heard shouts, but you were not taking the chance. Being in the military, you didn’t stand still to figure it out.
Someone gripped your arm as you ran past them, pointing a sword right in your face, “Are you for real,” I yell at them.
He had a musket pointing directly in your face. You stopped breathing; he was dressed like a 18th century soldier. Thoughts sped in your mind, could this be a reenactment? Could this be a sick joke? The bullet sounds shook you out of your thoughts, the man was about to speak. You grabbed his musket, yanking it towards your body. The gun went off as his head smashed into yours. He groaned, tripping backwards, and smashing against a tree. The light from the headbutt blasted on in your head.
The light started to blind through, and the forest became vivid again. The sound of bullet fire caused you jump out of it and look at the man unconscious before you. You had to be dreaming, everything was so real. The sound, the smell, the world around you. Where and when were you exactly? You got drug out of your thoughts as a bullet graved your arm. You gasped in pain and your body took flight again. On the run again, you slide down an embankment, meeting eye to eye with another redcoat.
You gasped, “Holy hell,” you whispered looking at the man, “Forgive me,” you said out loud, as the man watched you, straightening up. You saw his insignia, “Captain?”
“Jonathan Randall, Esquire – Eighth Dragoon of your majesty’s army, mistress,” he answered.
Something inside you reminisced, that name was familiar. Watching him closely, as he made his micromovements - he was also watching you, like some predator to prey, “I seem to be in the wrong time, wrong place,” you awkwardly laughed.
“It does seem that,” he paused to see if you’d introduce yourself.
“I had someone taking me to some distant family and they tried to attack and rob me,” you tried to play the damsel in distress, “My brother always told me I was too trusting.”
“Yes mistress, women are naïve sheep,” he tiptoed towards you, his hand resting on his sword, “Your accent,” he nodded towards you. You slowly started taking steps back, “I’m unfamiliar with it.”
He didn’t believe you, clearly you were off your game. Maybe it’s because the blast you took a few minutes ago getting you to this point. It could be the fact that this was surreal, “I’m grew up in the colonies,” you shrugged it off, you could only imagine how far away your accent was to actually existing, “But my brother sent me to our parent’s home country after their passing.”
You forgot the first rule of lying, keep it short with no unneeded details. His uniform was familiar, the military and your brother trained you well. You had inclined the year and it was clear the woods of Scotland were not safe with the Redcoats. This man was an enemy, not a gentleman of the era you’ve heard and learned so much about. You had to get away, find safety, and figure out what exactly is going on.
You knew self-defense, hell you were trained well at the art of combat, but this man had weapons and the only thing you had was a backpack and no adequate footwear for a run in the woods, “You don’t dress like a lady,” he motioned towards your clothes. You stop breathing at this, “In fact, only traitorous women wear clothes such as this,” your back was against the hill behind you. His breath was on you. He gripped your neck tightly, “There is only one way to deal with a woman like yourself,” he went for his buckle.
Your brother drilled into you about protection during moments like this. He trained you on what to do, it was natural. Headbutt to the nose, hike up of the knee, a tool – in your case a rock – to the head. And soon you were breathing heavily and looking at the Captain unconscious on the ground.
The sound of the Redcoats was not far off, “Druid,” you heard. You were surprised that someone could sneak so close and not make any noise. This Scottish looking fellow reached out his hands, “Come now,” he said. Your only instinct was to take it for now. This man pulled you behind a tree.
“What year is it,” you whispered to him.
“1743,” he mumbled, trying to shush me, taking the time to give you a questionable look.
“Pinch me,” you were hoping this to be a dream. It was a final test of your predicament. He looked at you strangely before helping with your request. He did, and you felt it and suddenly everything went black.

Notes:  As always, thank you for reading and leaving notes. Every time I get a notification is a small thrill and I really appreciate it. We have officially passed the half way point of this fic experiment! If you didn't figure it out from the way the last chapter ended, this one is more than a bit smutty. Smut is at the beginning and end if that's something you try to avoid. Enjoy!

Chapter 10: Cornelia Street
“I rented a place on Cornelia Street,” Jamie said casually in the car. “I was originally thinking since it’s early yet we could head to a bar down the street for a dram, but if you want to turn in for the night, I understand.” His blue eyes were twinkling with innuendo under the glow of passing streetlights.
“Hmm… I don’t think we need the assistance of alcohol tonight,” Claire raised her brow, catching his eye. “Unless you’re really set on it?”
“Nae, Sassenach, you’re more than enough for me.” he replied, stroking her thigh in the backseat. It was true, they were drunk on something stronger than the drinks in the bar. Now that the full force and truth of their love was unleashed, they were both in a state of anticipatory ecstasy. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other during the 15 minute Uber ride back to the subway station to pick up their bags and head to Manhattan. Neither of them could wait to get the other alone, enveloped in the privacy of the AirBnb. It was as if the streetlights pointed in an arrowhead leading them home.
They stepped out onto the sidewalk, Claire leading, eager to get to their destination. She turned around before she hit the subway tunnel, grabbing Jamie and wrapping her arms around his neck. They kissed passionately on the sidewalk, bodies pressed close, the promise of more a mere subway ride away.
Jamie and Claire emerged from underground just three blocks away from their destination. The nighttime autumn air was bringing a chill and a smattering of raindrops was starting to fall from the sky. Jamie draped his jacket around Claire’s shoulders, noticing that she was wrapping her arms close to her chest. Her smile lit up at the gesture. Although the warmth of their love should have, in theory, been strong enough to keep them warm, it was undeniable that the seasons were changing and winter was headed to New York.
By the time they arrived on Cornelia street, the rain had turned to a downpour and they found themselves running down the street, hand in hand to get to the warmth and privacy of their weekend abode. They dashed down the street until they stood before a building that appeared to be an old fashioned carriage house. Jamie punched some numbers into a keypad beside a side door and they heard a click as it unlocked. They scrambled through the open door and climbed up two flights of stairs where they were met with another door. Another code was entered and the door opened to reveal a spacious and airy apartment, well-appointed with cozy antique furniture and rugs, ornate light fixtures, modern artwork, and plenty of houseplants thriving among large, floor-to-ceiling windows. They were soaked through, their clothes clinging to their bodies. They dropped their bags on the floor as they entered.
“I’m freezing!” Claire squealed, reluctantly slipping Jamie’s jacket off her shoulders and slipping it on a hook by the door. She kicked off her shoes and scurried through the apartment towards what she hoped was a bedroom. Jamie found the thermostat on the wall near the dining area and turned it up higher than he normally would--but his Sassenach was cold and he wasn’t paying the bill. The heat kicked on quickly and the apartment began to fill with warm air. Jamie followed Claire into the bedroom and found it empty. He did however, notice a large armoire with a hidden gas fireplace (luckily he had read about this on the AirBNB website before booking), and took a moment to open it and turn the fireplace on. He then slipped around the corner towards the adjacent bathroom and stopped short at the sight before him. Claire had stripped off her wet clothing and was draping it over the shower rod in the bathroom to dry. Jamie caught a generous view of her backside glimpsing her through the bathroom doorway where he stood, taking in her beauty.
“I bless the rains on Cornelia Street” he lauded reverently, peeling off his own soaked shirt and guiding himself behind her, reaching over her head to drape his shirt next to hers, he moved his hands down her body slowly, settling them on her hips and pulling her close to him.
“Do you need help with those wet pants?” she hummed, turning her head towards him with a mischievous grin.
“Aye, that’d be bonny” Jamie replied. Claire turned around and put her hands on his chest, running them down to the waistband of his jeans. She unlatched his belt and slid it through the belt loops, tossing it aside where it landed with a thud on the bathroom floor. She crouched down to unbutton and unzip his fly, keeping her eyes locked on his face the entire time. She felt his hardness beneath her hands as she carried out her task. She slowly wriggled his jeans down to the floor and he stepped out of them. She picked them up off the floor, exaggerating her movements to give Jamie a full view of her arse, playfully leading him on a path there would be no going back from as she lifted them to the curtain rod, pressing her posterior against the rapidly growing bulge in his boxer briefs. “Why Mr. Fraser, I do believe despite the chill you are quite excited.”
“As if the sight of your arse in those jeans all day wasn’t enough to give a man a cock stand, to see it in its full glory… Christ Sassenach.” He’d had enough of her playing games, and spun her around to face him again, kissing her passionately as he scooped up handfuls of her arse, pulling her even closer to him. She slipped her fingers into the waistband of his underwear, edging them down gently with no small effort as they were wet from the rain. Once, they were also discarded on the floor, Jamie scooped her up effortlessly, hoisting her onto his hips as she wrapped her legs around his torso. They continued kissing, tongues dancing to steps only they knew, as he carried her into the bedroom and laid her down sideways on the end of the bed atop a soft, plush blanket, directly across from the fireplace. “Whatd’ya say I warm ya up Sassenach?” he growled as they came up for air.
“Mmmmhmm” was all she could muster out in response. The heat from the fireplace was already doing a good job of warming her, but she had a feeling it had more to do with being cradled in her Scots arms. He tented himself over her, rubbing his length over her folds, caressing her arms until gooseflesh arose. Planting hungry kisses on her neck and down her clavicle to her breast. He suckled ravenously, taking her soft pillow to his mouth, squeezing it reverently to his cheek before moving to the other breast as she bit her lip, taking in the sensation. When her wee noises indicated she couldn’t take his teasing anymore, he guided himself into her.
They gave themselves to each other fully, heart, body, mind and soul. It was a sacred new beginning for them after all they had said to each other just a few hours before. Jamie suddenly understood all that the church had taught him about marriage and sexuality. Although he and Claire were not yet wed, he realized the sacrament of marriage was not in the ceremony, but in the joining he and Claire were experiencing in this holy space. This was becoming their religion, he was worshipping the God who created this woman just for him and brought her to him safely. He also knew in this moment he could never again be parted from her. Each thrust was a commitment, to keep her safe, to love her, to see to her needs, to take care of her, to protect her from harm. He made these promises to her and himself silently, affirming each with a grunt to match her moans. He would make these commitments publically in a church someday, before God and loved ones, but for now they would stay in his head in the quiet of the room filling with nothing but the sounds of their heavy breaths and cries of pleasure. As he led them home with a final few thrusts, he cried out, “I love you, Claire. God, I love you.”
Jamie kissed Claire’s nose sweetly as they lay, wrapped in each other's arms, panting in post-coital bliss. “Now, I’m warm!” Claire exclaimed. She was flushed red, not only from what had just happened.
“Aye, so am I” Jamie agreed. The combination of forced air heat blasting from a nearby vent and the fireplace had made the room feel sultry and warm while Claire and Jamie were otherwise occupied. He was glistening with sweat, still above her, he rolled over and off the bed, and swung the window wide open, allowing the crisp autumn air to cool their skin. Claire rose to join him near the window, which looked out on an alleyway towards a brick wall. She wrapped her arms around him, bending her curls into the crook of his neck where she fit just right.
“I love you too, Jamie Fraser.” She said in a low voice as she kissed his shoulder. “Come back to bed.” She stepped away towards the bed, tugging at his hand. He cocked one eyebrow, staring intently at her.
“To bed, or to sleep?” he questioned. Claire simply eyed him with a mischievous grin and continued to lead him to the bed.
----------
Jamie, as he did the last time Claire told him she loved him, stayed awake with excitement into the wee hours of the night, softly stroking Claire’s curls and imagining their future together. Their future was a fresh page on the desk, and they’d fill in the blanks as they went, but he was certain that this was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. Sleep took Claire much more quickly, worn out from a day of carousing around the city and a night of passionate lovemaking. Due to her restful sleep, Claire woke when sunlight started creeping into the room. She slipped out of bed as quietly as possible, tiptoeing through the room so as not to disturb Jamie. Much to her dismay, she stepped on a creaky floorboard, wishing she had memorized its location the night before. She paused, taking in the sight of Jamie's limp form on the bed. He was still fast asleep, smiling slightly and Claire paused a bit longer than she intended to, taking in the sight of him, so peaceful and serene, and all hers.
Claire continued into the kitchen, barefoot and started searching the cupboards to see if there was anything edible. She might have suggested they stop for groceries the night before, but her appetite was focused solely on a different set of urges at the time.  She opened the fridge, but all that was inside was a Brita pitcher of water and a bottle of champagne--a rather expensive one--already opened, with a note on it that read: the last guests left this the other night, it’d be a shame to throw it out, so feel free to help yourself! That would be a welcome treat this evening, or maybe even for mimosas this morning, but she needed sustenance and she had no doubt that Jamie had also worked up an appetite last night in his exertions. Her still-packed bag was on the floor in the hall where she left it last night, she grabbed it and snuck into the guest bathroom to don leggings and a sweatshirt, brush the morning breath from her teeth and wrangle her curls into a ponytail. She grabbed her purse and left Cornelia Street to grab supplies to make breakfast. She hoped to surprise Jamie and be back before he even knew she was gone.
----------
Jamie awoke, reaching to pull Claire close to him, blindly feeling the empty sheets and pillow beside him. “Sassenach?” he called out into the empty room. There was no response. He reluctantly arose from the bed and walked towards the master bathroom, to see if she was there, but the door was open and Claire was not in there. He headed out into the living room--still no Claire--not in the kitchen or dining room either. He peeked out the window onto the small patio behind the apartment, which was also empty. Where could she be? He went to the hallway to retrieve his phone from his bag, where he had left it last night and his heart sank low as he realized his was the only one in the hallway. His face felt hot and he felt something deep within him shatter. Not again. Please don’t leave me. I don’t wanna lose you. He unlocked his phone, hoping for a message from her, some sort of explanation, a family emergency even, anything that would explain why she had left him the morning after saying “I love you” yet again. She seemed so genuine, so sure since their reunion. He felt so certain of her love this time around--last night he could have sworn their souls were aligned. He dialed her number, maybe she didn’t have time to send him a message. It rang and rang before her voicemail message responded Hey it’s Claire, leave a message and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Was this the last he would hear of her voice? He hung up, unable to leave a message, his throat was caught holding back tears, they were welling behind his eyes as his mind tried to work through any possible explanation where Claire still loved him. He ran a hand through his curls, pacing the floor as he thought about what his next move should be. He walked around the apartment again, looking for a sign, a note, glancing out every window, peering out to the street below, searching for her, but she was long gone.
He stooped in the hallway to his bag and grabbed a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt and put them on, slipping out of the apartment and ascending the stairs to the rooftop patio. He hadn’t told Claire about it, and it was far too rainy last night to show her, but maybe she went exploring and discovered it on her own. With her bag, ya dafty? Face it, she’s gone, she played you like a card shark again, you eejit. When he found the rooftop empty as well he couldn’t hold back the tears anymore.
He rushed back to the apartment, where he could sob freely away from anyone who might see. In his personal opinion, there was nothing unmanly about letting your feelings out with a good cry, but it was still embarrassing to be seen in such a state, regardless of gender. He collapsed on the couch and pulled his phone out to try and text Claire. The last text she’d sent him, a small pink heart emoji just a day ago, appeared on his screen and his throat caught again. Oh Claire, what did I do? He tried to compose a text: Claire, I’m sorry, please come back to me. No, too desperate, he hit the back arrow and watched the message disappear. Claire, I noticed you’re gone, I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by it. Call me. No, that wasn’t right either. Hey. No, if something was wrong that was too unfeeling. Maybe this would be easier if his mind wasn’t spiraling so much.
He wondered what time the bar down the street opened, he could use a dram or two to take the edge off. It was only just after 9:00, surely they wouldn’t be open for several hours, especially on a Sunday morning. He began pacing the apartment again, unable to keep still. The last time this had happened, he found refuge in a church, but the thought of crying out to God (and likely physically crying) amongst the Sunday Mass crowd in an unfamiliar church told him that wasn’t a good idea just now. Besides, he was angry with God. How could ya? How could ya take her away from me again? After I told ya I was committed to her, after I promised I’d cherish and keep her. How could you let her back into my life just so I could see her go again? It’s not right, it’s not fair, there’s only so much a man can take!
He went to the kitchen to get some water, and when he opened the fridge, he noticed a bottle of champagne with a note encouraging him to help himself. Don’t mind if I do. He desired something stronger, but it would have to do. He uncorked the bottle and took a large swig. If he cared for more than the emotion numbing power of alcohol right now, he would have noticed it was the best champagne he’d ever tasted, but all he could think about was how the entire bottle could possibly be enough to shut down his thoughts. As he took his second swig, he felt his phone buzzing in his pocket. He pulled it out and felt a rush of emotion as a picture of Claire lit up the screen.
“Claire!” he shouted into the phone in a desperate voice.
“Jamie, I’m sorry I just saw you called, I guess I didn’t feel my phone in my purse.”
“Where are you? Is everything alright?” he was trying to hide the panic in his voice.
“I’m outside, I don’t know the code to get in”
A wave of relief washed over Jamie and he let out a breath he’d been holding. “Oh, it’s 79438.”
“Seven... nine… four… three... eight…” she repeated, Jamie could hear each number beep through the phone as she punched them into the keypad. “Be right up, see you in a minute!”
His heart was pounding with joy and relief. He left the champagne bottle on the counter and ran to the bathroom to splash water on his face, hoping to hide evidence of his tears. He would feel silly if Claire were to know how he reacted. He rushed back to the door of the apartment, opening it to greet her as she came up the last few steps, a reusable bag branded with the name of a nearby market in her hand. He pulled her to him as soon as they were back in the apartment and kissed her passionately.
“What was that for?” she inquired breathlessly when they pulled away.
“I just missed ya is all.” he replied sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.
“Remind me to leave more often” she giggled. She noticed the look on his face when she said that, he didn’t look amused by her joke at all. “Are you alright?” she asked. She also noticed that the skin around his eyes looked puffy and swollen.
           “I’m fine, Sassenach.”
She took in his appearance, not quite believing him, something was off about his demeanor. “Are you sure?”
“Yeah,” he replied bashfully, running his fingers through his hair with one hand and nervously tapping his leg with the other. Claire raised an eyebrow, silently imploring him to continue. “It’s just that… weill, I noticed your bag was gone… and so I thought mebbe ye’d left me again.” he chuckled nervously, “It’s silly I know.”
“Oh, Jamie, no!” It was her turn to throw her arms around him. “I’m so sorry! I changed in the spare bathroom and left my bag there. I didn’t want to wake you; I was trying to surprise you with breakfast but there was no food here! Just champagne.” She held up the bag in her hand to show him.
“Aye, I noticed that myself.” he said, following her into the kitchen.
“Oh, I see you’ve started without me” noting the open bottle on the counter, she pulled a jug of orange juice out of the shopping bag “you know mixing this with orange juice makes day drinking more socially acceptable.” she chuckled, trying to clear the air with humor.
“It wasna really doing the trick anyway, mimosas sound great. Sassenach.” he drew her close again and planted a kiss on her forehead.
----------
After a leisurely breakfast they dressed for the show. Even Though it was a matinee, it was still an excuse to dress up and Claire had purchased a new dress for the occasion--a flowy low cut wrap dress in a perfectly ‘wicked’ shade of green. She decided to get ready in the guest bathroom, wanting Jamie to take in the full picture once she was all ready. Jamie got ready in the en suite, slicking his hair back and donning a black suit with black shirt. After taming her curls into what she hoped were sexy waves, and applying a smoky eye, she was ready. She stepped into the living room, where Jamie was already waiting, he rose from the couch upon her entrance and was looking better than she thought possible in his suit. They had similar reactions to each other--breaths caught, eyes stared, taking one another in, lingering long enough to be uncomfortable if it were anyone else. Jamie spoke first, crossing the room as if drawn to her by a magnet, “Are ya mad, woman? I can see every inch of you, right down to your third rib!” He scolded playfully, making it known exactly how wild the sight before him was driving him.
Claire hummed a laugh in response, “you cannot!” she replied flirtatiously. “Do you like it?” she exaggerated the sway of her hips as she approached him, causing the dress to float through the room dramatically.
“Like it? I reckon ya could wear a plastic bag around ya and I’d like it, but this…” he took both of her hands and took a step back, taking her in again. “You look phenomenal, Sassenach. I’m not sure I can control myself around you all day.”
She gave him a wicked smile, pulled him close and whispered a sultry bargain in his ear “If you’re on your best behavior today, I’ll let you see what I have on underneath.” she turned around coyly and headed towards the door to get her purse and jacket.
Christ, this woman will be the death of me. Jamie thought, as he tried to think of something, anything else that would help to stop the blood from rushing to his nether region. He stepped into the bathroom to splash water on his face for the second time that day, careful not to mess up his coiffed hair and met Claire at the door. Now that she had her coat on, it was easier to control his impulses, but God, he wanted her.
----------
Claire was enraptured by Wicked. Even Jamie’s hand frequently caressing her thigh wasn’t enough to distract her from the sights before them. The tickets Jamie had won were center orchestra seats and it was delightful to see the sparkling costumes and set pieces so close. If Claire was lucky enough to attend a Broadway musical she was usually up in a top corner balcony seat, which did have the benefit of taking in the whole stage at once, but it paled in comparison to this.
She couldn’t help but cry during the song “I’m Not That Girl--the actress did an incredible job of conveying emotion and Claire recalled how she felt just a month prior. Don’t dream too far, don’t lose sight of who you are, don’t remember that rush of joy. She had convinced herself that since Jamie wasn’t a part of the plan, he didn’t belong with her, but she couldn’t have been more wrong. With every dream and memory of him during their separation, she filled with more and more regret. Jamie noticed her sniffles and gently stroked her hand, bringing it to lips briefly to kiss her knuckles. She felt his unspoken promise, you are that girl.
Her musings continued when the opening lines of “As Long as You're Mine” started: kiss me too fiercely, hold me too tight, I need help believing you’re with me tonight. Her heart broke as she thought about the sight of Jamie’s puffy eyes in the AirBNB that morning. Knowing her responsibility for the doubt that she had planted in his heart, that their time apart was her fault. She knew now that they were solid--but could he? Could he ever fully trust her again? She firmly vowed to make it up to him in whatever way she could. The crescendo of the song built up, increasing in passion and intensity as the actors pressed their fully clothed bodies against each other, staring into each other’s eyes. How, painted green and in a long sleeve full length dress, Elphaba could convey such clear implications of sex, she did not know. Claire was more keenly aware of Jamie’s hand stroking her thigh, making its way painfully close to where she truly wanted to be stroked. When the music faded, Elphaba confessed to feeling wicked and kissed her lover passionately, the final payoff to the slow burn of the song. Claire made eye contact with Jamie, and she knew they both had little else on their mind than each other. Thank God they were half way through the second act, it would be hard to hold back much longer, and she didn’t want to be that couple caught with hands down each other’s pants in a sold out Broadway theater. For now, they would have to content themselves with stroking each other’s thighs.
The conclusion of the play was an emotional roller coaster. Claire couldn’t help but notice the parallel in her own life to the story of Elphaba--being cast out by the society she found herself in, ostracized and called names that stung even though there was some truth to them. Claire, like Elphaba, didn’t make the best choices in how she had behaved the previous spring, and had so suffered more consequences than she may have otherwise. Jamie was attuned to Claire’s feelings throughout, knowing when he needed to grip her hand tightly, or gently stroke her thumb, when to wipe a tear from her cheek, or kiss her knuckles softly. During curtain call Claire stood, enraptured, beaming and clapping furiously as each set of actors took a bow, wondering if they could see from the stage how much she enjoyed it.
Jamie too applauded enthusiastically, he thoroughly enjoyed the show finding it to be an emotionally poignant production and entertaining spectacle all at once. Most of all, he enjoyed seeing Claire’s enjoyment. She seemed so happy, so unrestrained, and he was partially responsible for it. Feelings of admiration and pride swirled around his wame, but mostly of love and gratitude. He was so grateful that Claire was the woman by his side. He didn’t know how he could live without her. The scare he had that morning made him more keenly aware of it. He was terrified of her walking away again. He was so glad she had called and showed her true hand that morning. As he stroked her leg in a dark theater all he could think was I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends. That’s the kind of heartbreak time could never mend.
They followed the crowd out of the theater and onto the streets of New York. Jamie was mystified by how the city seemed to scream Claire’s name, everything he saw made him think of her. He wanted to bring her everywhere--to the tops of all the tall buildings, the nicest restaurants, walks in the park, curbside hot dog stands, corner diners--everywhere big and small. Simultaneously, he wanted nothing more than to walk her back to that apartment and ravish her until she cried out his name.  He did have dinner reservations at a nearby restaurant, but the thought of staring across a table at her cleavage in that dress, unable to do anything about it was not nearly as appealing as the thought of peeling it off her. The way she kept touching him, he had a feeling she had something similar in mind.
“So.” he stated matter-of-factly. “The plan is to get dinner at a spot around the corner.” He studied her reaction to his words and thank Christ for her glass face, he saw a twinge of disappointment that emboldened him to continue. “However, plans can be amended and if ya think you’d rather get back to Cornelia Street sooner…” The glass face perked up. “We could order takeaway and pick it up on the way back.”
“Takeaway sounds divine, what are you in the mood for?” he was keenly aware of the double meaning of her words--she was using that low, sultry voice that drove him wild.
He pulled her close, growling in her ear “you know exactly what I’m in the mood for, Ms. Beauchamp.” he sucked her earlobe, and trailed a line of wet, passionate kisses down her neck.
“So, Thai food then?” she eyed him coyly.
“Aye, that sounds bonny” Jamie pulled out his phone, first calling to cancel their reservation, then looking to Google with Claire to find a Thai place in the village with good reviews they could pick food up at. Once their food was ordered, he held her hand on the street and led her back to Cornelia Street.
----------
Once they were just inside the apartment, Jamie set the takeout on the floor and immediately pressed Claire against the closed door and took her fiercely to his mouth, pawing at the buttons on her coat, trying miserably to get it off her. Claire pressed her palm against his chest, gasping for air she pushed him back to arm’s length. He blinked, bewildered. She made eye contact with him as she tugged at the knot in the waistband of her coat, untying it. She then unbuttoned each button, painfully slow, taking her time with each one well he gazed intensely, breath heavy. Once she finished her task she slipped the coat off her shoulders allowing it to fall to the floor behind her. Jamie was back on her in an instant, planting kisses on her neck and down, down, down. He nuzzled himself between her breasts, kissing, sucking and playfully biting the soft flesh. His hands ran through her hair at first, then up and down her body settling on her arse which he kneaded and squeezed hungrily. Claire was already moaning and they were still fully clothed. She slipped his jacket from his shoulders, and he flung it behind him as quickly as possible in order to return his hands to her hind quarters. She began to make dexterous work of his shirt buttons as he lifted her thigh to his hip.
“Take me to bed” she breathlessly begged in his ear.
“Aye.” he lifted her other leg and walked backward into the apartment. Instead of heading to the bedroom, he took her to the living room, sitting on an oversized chaise lounge near the fireplace with Claire still on his lap, his face still buried in her fleshy pillows. She began to grind against him as he stroked her thighs, pushing the dress up to stroke the flesh underneath. He snaked his arm up her back, holding her firmly and turned her so she was lying on her back. “I’ve been wanting to take ya, right here, since I saw you walk inta the room this morning in that dress.”
“Hmm… is that so?” she hummed. “I believe I said I’d show you what’s underneath if you were behaved.”
“Aye, ya did. Was I a good boy then?”
“You” she confirmed, “were a very good boy.” she tugged at the tie of the dress and allowed the fabric to fall off her body, spilling around her in a pool of green as she lay on the chaise. She thought Jamie’s eyes would pop out of their head the way he looked at her so intensely. She was wearing black lacy bodysuit with a neckline that plunged all the way to the waistband of the bottom part of it. “Now, you can see--what was it? My third rib?” she smirked.
“Aye. I see it, right about… here.” He planted a kiss under her breast.  “ I wonder what else I can see” he tugged at the fabric, pleased to find it was stretchy and revealed her right breast. “Mmm… now that is a sight to behold. He wrapped his tongue around her nipple.
“I showed you, now what do you have to show me?” she bit her lower lip and eyed him coyly.
“Fair’s fair I suppose.” He slipped his shirt off easily, as Claire had already unbuttoned it for him and let it drop to the floor. Standing, he slowly unbuckled his belt and slipped it through each individual belt loop. He wanted her, but he also wanted payback for the show she made of her buttons in the entryway. He made similar work of the button on his fly, and then inched the zipper down, painfully slow. He slid his thumbs into his waistband and nudged his pants down, swaying his hips in an exaggerated motion as he peeled them down slowly.
Claire was eyeing him with a desperate hunger and a naughty glint in her eye, biting her lower lip with anticipation. She decided to join him in the tease, sitting up and slipping her body suit off one shoulder slowly. She then made a show of the other side, peeling it off carefully so as not to expose her breast until the last possible second. They were playing a dangerous game, eyeing each other hungrily as they fought their own desires in order to tease each other. Claire stood before Jamie, the lower part of her bodysuit still covering the place where she was rapidly growing aroused. His arousal was still covered as well, although it was apparent through the fabric. They slipped their thumbs into each other’s waistbands, ridding themselves of the last stitches of clothing between them.
“I think you said something about taking me right here?” she inquired demurely.
“Aye.” he growled, and he did just that.
End Note:  Poor Jamie! That we bit of angst he went through broke my heart to write. He loves her so much. Hopefully all the smut made up fo it. More smut next week as it seems these two can't keep their hands off each other!

The Mafia’s Princess J.hs (2)
Summary: “I can’t loose you because if I loose you I loose myself. You’re all I have left.” she begged him to put the gun down. Her bloody knees splashed into the mud. Helicopters surrounded them and the sirens were getting closer and closer but she could think about was him. The man whom she fell in love with, standing in front of them. Gun pointed towards his head.
This is a HoseokxOc story but feel free to think of her as y/n. I just didn't want to call her y/n so I used my own character that you'll see in a lot of my stories but her mood and temperment will change in each story.
Warning: A bit of sexual interaction but nothing too much, weapons, skin damage, cursing, DIOR FREAKING HOSEOK. AKA: SUPERIOR HOSEOK.

Tumblr media
Hauling Areum away in his arms from the vent into his arms, he opened the window just to see that the cops and dogs were guarding the entire motel, just waiting for them to come back and attack. He had to think and he had to think fast or else they’ll both be dead meat. He looked around and spotted one place where the dogs nor the cops have reached yet. The garbage bin. Of course, it was disgusting but it was the only chance they got.
Hoseok’s P.O.V
I sigh as I held Areum close to my chest, there’s no way that she could be seen by the police or else it’s pretty much over for her and her family. I quickly set Areum down being careful not to to injure her even more than I already did. I had some spare time until the cops could reach this area. Taking my jacket off, I carefully wrapped it on her wounded leg so no infection would begin to grow. I had to get her back home and I had to do it fast. There she could be met with a medic. This all has me wondering if I should just drop her off at the place she belongs and leave her be. All I am is trouble in her life. I am in everybody's and I really dont give a shit. I’ve become my own nightmare that lost it’s mercy ten years ago but when it comes to her. I swear I’d do anything. I’ve become so selfish and allowed my heart to become enslaved in chains to her love. To her affection. To the way she smiles or the way the moonlight touches her soft skin.
Love is tortuous, I feel myself going on a never ending rollercoaster with her. She was the worst thing that ever happened to me but the best thing at the same time. She can’t let me go and that’s the worst part about this relationship because I know at some point she’s going to have to let me go. Not that I want to go. I want to be her dream man and offer everything she wants that she deserves but not off of blood money. I’ve never thought that one time in my life I’d be regretting being a mafia lord. Love is powerful.
All this goes through my mind as I picked her up once more and jumped into the trash can, where there were a lot of bags. Yes, it’s risky to possibly get stabbed by glass shards or bitten by a rat but it was better than prison. Our landing sound was muffled by the plastic bags. The cops were approaching so I closed the bin and hid myself and Areum to the best of my ability. There happened to be a small hole that I peeped through to see if the cops were going along their way but they weren’t. They were just guarding the whole hotel as well as their dogs. We needed a distraction so I picked up a rusted old wrench and while they werent looking aimed it at the highest window that was out of the cop’s eyesight, so of course they wouldn’t see the wrench. Once the glass broke the cops shouted and ran towards the window, holding their guns up. I took Areum when the coast was clear and silently got out of there, running far away into the woods. Once I was far enough, I slung Areum onto my back and looked into my suitcase for a pager. “I need a car sent to Eastwood Urgently.”
Eastwood was about 5 miles away but it was the only place where I knew to navigate to from here. My pager dings before a man starts to talk “Yes sir, it will take us fifteen minutes. Parked in the garage sir.”
“Thanks Jungkook. Coming home soon, prepare med for Areum. She got a bog bite...” I looked at Areum’s leg. Lines of slightly opened bloody flesh lined along her legs “And a bit of a scratch.”
As I kept walking on the cops were soon long gone or so I think. You never know in this field of work. I had a long ways to go and there was no way Areum could walk on her feet. She wasn’t very heavy so I could handle it. Walking through nature was quite nice actually. It’s not something I usually do. I had to make it to Eastwood before the sun rose because if not I could get caught by someone. I felt Areum shift her head on my back, and soon her hips.
“Baby?” I say to her as she regains her conscious. I went to a tree and sat her down onto the leaves so she could wake up and I could take a small break before we move again.
Areum’s P.O.V
An instant sting shot onto my leg as if somebody took sharp nails and dragged it along on my skin. “Augh!” I whimpered as I reached for the long bloody scratch. I saw that a sweater was wrapped around my bloody wounds. I don’t even remembered what happened after being in that vent. All I remember was darkness. “It hurts.” my voice cracks as my hands tried to rub down the cut to attempt to make it feel better but my attempts only made it worse. I wasn’t used to all this. I mean, small scars and such were common but this? My eyes began to water as the pain only got worse. It wouldn’t go away. Hoseok knelt towards me, caressing my cheeks. “Hey, you’re alright.”
~
Areum felt Hoseok’s heavy breaths as he continued to walk with her in his arms. Two hours passed and they were far out of the cop’s sight. They were almost to their destination but Hoseok’s steps became slower. Areum spoke “Stop, I could walk on my own now.”  Hoseok shook his head as he kept walking. Sure, he was tired and he exhausted. He could just pass out right then and there but he wasn’t going to let go of her.  “Hoseok.” Areum spoke louder as her fingers gripped his shirt. “Let me go.” “You’ll get hurt more Areum, I’ve already done enough to you!” He didn’t let go her, he couldn’t let her go but soon enough he had to let her go. “Let’s take a break.” he panted. Areum’s P.O.V
I laughed a little as he had to let me go sooner or later. Some long scratched lined my leg and I still felt the sting but it wasn’t unbearable. I could walk on my own now, well, at least limb. By looking at Hoseok slumped down on a tree I had to walk at this point “Okay, just get on my shoulders.” He panted and knelt down. I chuckled a bit as I tightened the ‘band aid’ Hoseok put on my cut. “No love.” I push Hoseok’s shoulders back up. “I need to start doing things on my own.” Five years ago. Areum’s P.O.V
The evening of the ball was wonderful to say the less but as the sun set over the horizon the part I dreaded came. The dance. Where my parents set up certain men from different kingdoms to dance with me. Expecting me to find my one and only true love but the truth was I liked none of these stuck up petty men. They think they all have me at their fingertips when really they all disgust me. With their pristine suits, perfect smiles, and expensive rings. I was so sick of seeing all of them but especially one of them, Namjoon.
Namjoon was the richest prince there was. Everyone knew him, loved him, and loathed him. He was the number one running to marry in my parents list but certainly not on mine. Taking a class of champagne before the dance I saw Namjoon coming towards me. Even down to the way he walks irritates me. Even though he didn’t do anything to me I just didn’t want to marry him. I didn’t want him to take me away to wherever he lived and trap me as his little house wife. Oh yeah, might I mention, all of Namjoon’s ex wives told me not to marry him because he’s demanding, bratty, and a so called womanizer.
He gave me a smile and fixed his glasses and I returned with a nice gesture. Coming close he looked down to me, admiring every aspect of my long golden dress. He finally spoke “Good day my lady, I’m looking forward to out dance.”  I just smiled and nodded, just because I hated him didn’t mean I had to be rude to the guy. Even though I really wanted to punch his ass to ten buck two. His next words to me made me gag my champagne. “Maybe I could get more than a dance by the end of tonight.”  He swayed away with a wink. Now I really wanted to get out of this place. That man was the epitome of sickness. The bell rung and it was already time for the dance. All the princesses gathered in front of the princes. I took my position right in front of Namjoon. The kings and queens oversaw from the tall stories. Overlooking their daughters with binoculars, seeing if they could see anything “magical.”
The dance has begun and we all followed the elaborate and precise steps to the rhythm. Princes caught us by our waist and held onto our hands tight. Twirling all around the dance floor I soon was caught by Namjoon. My soon to be king. He smirked down onto me as his hand traveled down my waist. I gave him a naïve smile but I really knew what he was doing all along. I couldn’t be more happy to spin again into another prince’s arms but Namjoon seemed disappointed that my body left his presence.
The dance went on and on and on. “I think we have found the one for Namjoon, may he have your daughter in marriage?” Namjoon’s father exclaimed loud enough for me to hear. My body went into full shock, I just wanted to get out of there. I knew my parent’s would say yes since they’ve been rooting for us.
Spinning
Spinning
My eyes caught the guards running outside of the palace, everyone seemed distracted so I decided to discreetly take my leave. I lifted my long golden dress up and ran to where the guards were running towards. They led me all the way outside. I heard one of the guards running close so I pressed my back onto the brick wall surrounded by bushes so they wouldn’t see me.  “There he is!” One of them yelled and chased after a man. I tried to get a closer look but all I could see was a leather black mask and all black attire. He seemed to have a black turtle neck a buckles along his chest. Strange, how could he even get into the castle’s quarters. I knew I shouldn’t of but I followed the thief, looking for some new excitement. The guards lost him but I knew exactly where he was heading, the maze. He was taking a shortcut to the maze. One that could be missed by the guards. It was strange that he knew where everything was in this castle, was he one of our workers before? He entered the maze and I came after him. I saw something shiny in his hands, aw it was my bracelet. As I followed I stepped on the noisiest branch.
Dang
The thief turned back, pulling out a black gun and it sure did look terrifying. Something that’s never allowed on the grounds of the castle. “Who goes there.” He spoke. “Come out or I will shoot.”
I didn’t really have a choice, the last thing I wanted to do tonight was get shot. Well, maybe it was better than getting engaged to Namjoon. I came out of the bushes and allowed my dress to flow down. I bowed at the thief lifting two sides of my dress up. Once I analyzed his face might I say... He wasn’t bad looking, he looked pretty good for a thief actually. “Princess Bailey.”  The thief stood there for a bit, probably in shock he’s seeing me out of anyone. Hoseok’s P.O.V
This day couldn’t get anymore stranger. I put the bracelet in my pocket but held the gun tight in my hand. I wasn’t afraid to get royal blood splattered on my clothes. “Who do you come with. Where are the guards.” For some reason she just stood in front of me. Staring me down as if I was some sort of toy in the toy store. She took a step closer to me but I took two steps back, holding my gun higher to her head. If I shot at anytime she would for sure dead. This was one bold princess. She spoke once again “That bracelet, it’s mine. But, you could have it.” “I wasn’t asking.” “What is it for might I ask? Will you pawn it?” She seemed super calm when seeing a whole criminal right in front of her. The biggest one of Korea that is. “It’s for someone.” “Oh a gift? How kind of you sir. If you asked me I would’ve gave it to you.”  “You don’t even know me. “ “Who are you then.” The princess smiled as she stepped closer again “I come in peace, please lower your gun.”  Not budging still I get a small intercom out of my pocket and spoke “Bring the helicopter in the maze.” “Helicopter? That’s not very discreet. This castle is filled with security tools. You’ll surely get shot down.” She sung as her heels kicked the rocks on the ground. I thought about it and she did have a point. “Cancel the helicopter..” I turned the intercom off and looked at the princess. “Okay, then what do you suggest?” The princess smiled and turned to me. Happy that I gave her an inch. This may be a big trap but at this point I didn’t have a choice.
“Follow me.” She hums.

To Be
Did someone order post-reveal fluff?
Prompt: With his secret revealed, Danny has to wear inhibitors to school. Most days they're fine if not irritating, but when they get damaged in a chemistry lab everyone's desperate to see his powers before the inhibitors are repaired. Even teachers make a point to ask for "favors" while Danny's allowed to go all out. Prompt by: @wastefulreverie Word count: 3,474

---
“It’s broken,” Maddie reported. On the surface, her voice sounded sorry, but Danny could hear the relief underneath. It surprised him every time. How his parents continued to love him, despite the revelation of his half-ghost nature.
“Can it be fixed?” Principal Ishiyama folded her hands together, staring down Maddie. She didn’t even try to look at Danny. “You know the rules, Mrs. Fenton.”
“Doctor Fenton,” Maddie corrected, sharply. “And, yes, I am well aware. Jack and I will take it home to fix it, but there are limits to even our skills. It will take a few days, depending on the damage.”
Principal Ishiyama huffed, then nodded, jerkily. “Very well. Daniel will have to stay home and make up the lost work later.”
“What?” He jerked in his chair. “Why?”
“Because your inhibitors are broken,” Ishiyama explained, slowly, like she was talking to a child. Or a stupid ghost hybrid, apparently. “And it is against school rules for ghosts to enter the school without inhibitors.”
“But that’s so unfair! It’s not even my fault that it’s broken!” Danny felt his core stir up in his chest, and forced himself to calm down. Flashing his eyes at her would only make it worse. “It’s only a few days, I can behave myself!”
A hand landed on his shoulder, and his mom shot him a comforting look. She turned back to Ishiyama. “Look, Principal. Jack and I have listened to your strict rules on Danny’s power usage in the school. We’ve built him the inhibitors, just so he can continue to come. I will not, however, force him to stay home because one of the other kids damaged the devices.”
“Dangerous ghosts are not allowed in the school,” Ishiyama repeated, her tone forced. “Without the inhibitors—”
“Danny is not just a ghost, nor is he innately dangerous,” Maddie corrected, her eyes narrowing. “I will not let you punish him for another's actions.”
Principal Ishiyama stared back, her eyes narrowed as well. After a few moments, she said, “Fine. He can continue to attend without the inhibitors, but! If we receive any reports of him using his powers within the school, especially in a potentially dangerous context, he will be punished. Is this understood?”
“Yes, principal Ishiyama.” Danny shot her his most innocent smile. “I’ll be good.”
“Sure you will,” she said, entirely unconvinced. Her expression could not be more skeptical. “Mrs— Doctor Fenton, please let us know when the inhibitors are fixed and ready for use again. Was that all?”
“Yes, it was.” Maddie stood up, tucking the broken inhibitors into a pocket on her belt. “Danny, let’s go.”
He nodded, getting up from the chair.
Wow. His mom really had fought Ishiyama to let him continue to go to school, even without the inhibitors. And he’d been thinking that it had been their idea to equip him with those things.
---
Valerie looked up when he sat down in his usual seat, quirking an eyebrow. “Danny! I thought you weren’t allowed to come to class without the inhibitors?”
“Mom thought it was stupid to punish me if their destruction wasn’t my fault.” He shrugged, putting down his stuff. “Principal Ishiyama tried to argue but Mom looked ready to fight her and, well. Ishiyama wasn’t ready to fight a 9th degree black belt over my presence here.”
Valerie snorted. “That’s fair. I’m a pretty good fighter and even I would think twice about challenging your mom.”
“Yeah, exactly.” He leaned back in his chair to wait for class to actually start. “It’ll probably only be a few days before the inhibitors are fixed again, unfortunately.”
“You don’t like them, right?” Valerie’s fingers twitched around the bracelet on her wrist. He made a mental note to have someone check that thing out; he didn’t trust Technus’ tech.
“They’re alright, usually,” he answered her, putting away his previous thought. “A little irritating sometimes, but fine most of the time. I just don’t like, y’know, the implication. I get that my powers are scary, but at least I don’t use them to hurt or bully anyone.”
Her eyes dropped back to her wristband. “…Yeah.”
“Val, you know I wasn’t talking about that.” He nudged her with his foot. “Seriously, it’s fine. I was talking about the jocks. Nobody is telling them to wear restraints so they can’t punch anybody.”
“Unfortunately, that’s also true,” she acknowledged. “Morning, Tucker.”
Tucker grumbled a response, dropping heavily into this seat.
“Wow, you’re in a mood today.” Danny quirked an eyebrow at him. “What’s wrong, Tuck?”
“It’s— Don’t worry about it.” He flapped a dismissive hand, pulling his phone out of his pocket to demonstrate. “My phone’s charger broke, I think, or I didn’t plug it in right or something. It’s all out of battery.”
“That’s rough, buddy. Maybe someone has a charger you could borrow?” He reached over to pat Tucker on the shoulder. “If not, I can charge it for you after school.”
“Yeah, you— Wait.” Tucker grabbed Danny’s hand, suddenly, holding it out for inspection. “Your inhibitors are broken. Why can’t you charge my phone now?”
Danny made a face at him. “I’m still not allowed to use my powers in the school, Tuck. The only reason why Ishiyama didn’t force me to stay home until the inhibitors are fixed again is because Mom was about three seconds away from throwing down.”
“Ah, come on, nobody will care.” Tucker shoved his phone into Danny’s chest. “Please?”
“If I get in trouble I’m siccing my mom on you,” Danny assured Tucker, taking the phone. “Just know that.”
Tucker nodded, grinning.
“You’re a bad influence!” Valerie tacked on from Danny’s other side. “But also, I definitely wanna see this, Fenton!”
“The worst,” he repeated, rolling his eyes. He held the phone carefully between his hands, coaxing his core into releasing a little energy. Charging electronic devices was tricky; he had to find the right balance between too much power, and too little.
And to hold back on the ecto. That was also a very important part. No one wanted another incident like the possessed toaster.
Bright blue sparks danced over his fingers. Jumped from the digits to the device held in-between them. The phone’s screen lit up, suddenly, displaying a rapidly filling battery.
Danny waited until the battery passed 80% before stopping the electricity. He held onto the phone for a moment longer, until he was sure that it wouldn’t shock Tucker.
“Make sure it’s charged next time,” he said as he handed the phone back. “Once the inhibitors are fixed again, I won’t be able to charge it for you.”
“I know, I know.” Tucker rolled his eyes, taking the phone. “Thanks, though. You’re a lifesaver.”
---
“Mr. Fenton?” the reedy voice of Mr. Falluca asked, and Danny jerked to awareness. Him, almost falling asleep in class? No sir!
“Yeah?” he replied, rubbing through his eyes. “Sorry, what did you ask?”
“Nothing yet,” the teacher assured him, smiling in a way that instantly unnerved Danny. “But I was wondering if you could offer us a hand?”
Instant paranoia. “Uh, maybe? With what?”
“I was hoping you could help me with a demonstration,” Falluca started explaining, gesturing to the front of the classroom. “We don’t have any equipment for a large experiment, but I have everything I need to a demonstration… except for a bunsen burner.”
“Okay…” Danny said, slowly. “Um. Mr. Falluca, are you aware of the fact that I’m still not allowed to use my ghost powers in the school, even if I’m not wearing my inhibitors?”
Falluca started nodding before Danny had even finished talking. “Yes, of course I know, Mr. Fenton. But the inhibitors got damaged during my class, and I should’ve noticed and interfered long before it came to that. Consider the free use of your powers in my classroom an apology of sorts.”
“What about the other students? Won’t they tell Ishiyama, or Lancer, or something?”
“Nonsense, Danny. They love Phantom to bits,” Falluca dismissed. “Besides, I will say that it’s fine. Even if one of them tells the principal, well. It’s my word against theirs, isn’t it?”
Well, he could hardly argue with that. “If you’re sure, Mr. Falluca.”
Danny was promptly led to the front of the classroom, with Mr. Falluca briefly explaining what they were going to do, and how hot the flames would have to be. It all sounded fairly doable.
They waited until the bell had rung and everyone had found their seats. Mr. Falluca cleared his throat, and the class silenced.
“First off, I’m sorry to say that today’s experiment has been canceled due to safety concerns. The accident yesterday unfortunately spooked my fellow teachers. Instead I’ve put together a demonstration, so you’ll have some form of practicum to match with the theory.”
Mr. Falluca gestured over at Danny. “Now, while I have the materials, I do not have the equipment. Mr. Fenton will help me demonstrate. I expect you all to behave, and not to go running off to inform the principal about this, yes?”
“Yes, Mr. Falluca!” the class chimed back, loud and enthusiastic. Danny’s core hiccuped with startled joy.
“Very good. Mr. Fenton?” Falluca turned to look at him. “The floor is yours. Shift whenever you’re ready.”
Danny nodded, tugging on his core. Light flashed, and a few of his classmates gasped as he transformed.
“Ready,” he said, tugging on the hem of his gloves. He could handle his own flames just fine, but the heated glass? Nah, he needed protection for that stuff.
“Alright. For today’s lesson, we will be focusing on chemical reactions based on heat.” Falluca ducked below his desk, then came up again holding a large bag of sugar. “This will be our material for this test: regular sugar. When sugar gets heated, what happens to it?”
A few glances were exchanged among the students, but no one raised their hands.
“No one knows?” Falluca prodded. “I’ll pick someone to answer, then. Star?”
She jerked to awareness. “Um. It burns?”
“Eventually, yes, but before that, something else happens. Anyone else?”
Complete silence.
Mr. Falluca frowned. “Hm. Well, let’s see if you can figure it out during the demonstration. I’ll put some of the sugar in a spoon, which Danny can heat.”
The teacher shook some of the sugar into a spoon, handing it to Danny afterwards. “Slowly build up the heat, please.”
“Gotcha.” He took the spoon in his left hand, carefully holding on to the far end, and raised his right hand underneath the scooping end. Gently coaxed his core into producing heat.
A small but bright green flame formed in the palm of his right hand, directly underneath the spoon.
Danny angled the spoon a little, so the class could see the sugar on the inside. And then, slowly but surely, ramped up the heat. The sugar warmed up, its color shifting into a warm brown.
“Is it… turning into caramel?” Valerie asked, drawing Danny’s attention away from the spoon again. Huh. Was it? Falluca hadn’t actually told him what it would do.
“Correct, Miss Gray!” Falluca clapped his hands together, cheerily. “Sugar, when heated, caramelizes. Normally, I would say that you’re free to have a taste, but I’m not sure if that would be a good idea now, Danny?”
“Probably not,” he agreed, keeping up the flame. “This level of ecto-contamination isn’t actually dangerous, but it won’t taste good, especially if you’re not used to eating it. And it might make you feel queasy.”
Mr. Falluca nodded along. “Yes, I figured as much. Sorry, kids, no free caramel today! Danny, thank you for your help. You may return to your seat.”
He nodded, extinguishing the flame, and placing the hot spoon onto the desk. Having done all that, he let himself shift back to human, and walked back to his seat.
“Now,” Mr. Falluca started, “As for the science behind this…”
---
Danny had remained wary the rest of the day, but it seemed that the rest of the class had stayed true to their word. Ishiyama didn’t come complain to him, not during any of the lessons after chemistry or during lunch.
He rolled his shoulder, hearing his spine click repeatedly. Next to him, Tucker shivered and grimaced.
“Dude, do you really have to do that?”
“Nah.” Danny shrugged, then rolled his other shoulder. “But I wanna.”
Tucker glared at him, then flinched, turning towards the teacher. Mrs. Tetslaff was growling, but apparently not at them.
“Mr. Baxter, your showboating as landed another ball stuck in the rafters. How do you think we’ll get it back, hm?”
Dash shrugged, seemingly caught somewhere between meeting her gaze and cowering from it. “It’s no big deal.”
“No?” Tetslaff gritted back. “Why, are you gonna fly up there and fetch it for us?”
Danny knew what was coming even before Dash pointed at him.
Ah, yep, there it was. Right on time, buddy.
“Danny can do it, can’t he? Fly up there and get it for us?”
Tetslaff followed the finger, and Danny straightened up under her hard stare. “Hm.”
“Uh, I’m actually not allowed to use my powers in the school,” Danny tried. Nudged Tucker. “Right, Tuck?”
“Yes, yeah, exactly.” Tucker nodded along, like the good friend he was. “Buuuut…”
“No one will care, Fenton,” Tetslaff agreed, gesturing him over. “I’ve got your back.”
Well… he supposed that if it was fine with Falluca, it would be unfair not to help Tetslaff too. Right?
“I’ll have to shift,” he pointed out. “That okay?”
“Just go, scrawny.” She stepped back, half-turning. To stop the light from blinding her, maybe?
He nodded, already reaching out to his core. It woke, whirring more powerfully, releasing ghostly power into his system. Light flashed, rings haloing over his body, until he was left in his ghost form.
“Whereabouts is it?” Danny asked, craning his head up. With his enhanced vision he could see the rafters just fine, but chances were that the ball was wedged somewhere behind a beam.
“Right up here,” Dash said, pointing, and, ah. Danny had almost forgotten that the guy was also here. “Should be a pretty straight line.”
“Alright, I’ll… go get it, I guess.” Danny let gravity fade away, slowly lifting off of the ground. When no one tried stopping him, he let himself fly properly.
It was hard not to notice that almost everyone had stopped moving in the gym, though. All staring up at him and whispering, hushed.
Danny bit his lip, doing his best to focus on grabbing the ball. Whatever they were saying, he didn’t want to hear.
He halted, having leveled out with the rafters. Now where was that ball that Dash had gotten… ah! There it was.
And… stuck, apparently. Danny wrapped both of his hands around it, tugging, but it wouldn’t let go. He could’ve tried pulling harder, probably, but he was afraid of using too much power and destroying it entirely.
He bit his lip. How…
Oh, duh.
With his hands still on the ball, Danny forced it intangible. Pulled it out from its place behind the beam with ease.
“Got it!” he called down, holding out the now-tangible ball. “But, uh… There’s a few more up here, I think?”
“So that’s where all my balls keep disappearing to!” Tetslaff grunted so loudly that even Danny could hear it. “Drop that ball, Fenton, and go get the rest!”
“Gotcha!” He released the ball, watching it plummet down. Dash caught it before it hit the ground, though, raising a thumb’s up in Danny’s direction.
Ugh, weird. He still hadn’t gotten over Dash’s… everything, after the reveal.
It was better than getting beat up, he supposed, but just… weird. He’d gotten so used to all the normal stuff that the changes were throwing him off.
Actually, maybe that was why he was still so reluctantly to trust everyone with his ghost powers. Not a secret anymore, but he still kept it like one.
The fact that Ishiyama had outlawed it helped on that end too, admittedly.
Danny shook the thoughts off, floating over to another ball stuck in the rafters. Well, no point in worrying about all that, right? Fretting never helped anyone.
He grabbed onto the ball, tugging it loose with ease. Looking down to make sure it wouldn’t hit anyone, he released it. It hit the ground with a pleasing rubbery noise, bouncing off to the side.
A quick glance around led him to a third ball, but after that the rafters seemed clear.
“That was the last of them, I think,” he shouted down to Tetslaff.
“Good job, Fenton!” she yelled back, sticking up a thumb. “Now get down here and show us that athleticism of yours!”
Well. Couldn’t win them all, could you?
---
Valerie appeared to be mashing her head into her locker door. Danny paused, hesitantly, then crept closer. “Are you alright, Val?”
“Peachy,” she grumbled back, not taking her head off of the metal surface. “I broke my lock and now I can’t open my locker anymore.”
“Ah…” Well, that explained it. “Can’t you get it fixed, or replaced, or something?”
“Yeah, but that’ll take a bit.” She lifted her head, finally. “I can’t leave all this stuff overnight.”
Oh, she had her ghost hunting gear in there, huh? “Oh, you have that stuff in there, gotcha.”
She was staring at him, now. “Say, Danny…”
“I don’t think I like that tone of voice,” he said, frowning at her. “What are you doing, Val?”
“Can’t you…” She blinked at him, big watery eyes. Oof, he thought she’d outgrown the cutesy pretense. “Phase it out for me? I mean, you charged Tucker’s PDA, and I’m your friend too… right?”
“Now you’re playing dirty,” he grumbled, rolling his eyes. “Ugh, fine, but you’ll have to cover for me.”
Valerie nodded, swapping places with him so she stood facing the hallway. Her back pressed against his own, warm and solid with muscle.
He took a deep breath, pulling on his core once more. Tingles ran through his arm, turning the limb cold and see-through.
Danny phased his arm through the locker, carefully feeling around for Valerie’s bag. It wasn’t that hard; there was limited space in a locker, after all. His fingers grasped onto the tough fabric, before he pulled it out. His arm, and the bag, returned to their solid state.
“Thanks, Danny.” Valerie took the bag from him again, bumping him gently. “You’re a lifesaver.”
“Yeah, well. Don’t mention it.” He grinned back. “Literally, or Ishiyama will kill me.”
She snorted, swinging the backpack onto her back. “Yeah, I gotcha. See you tomorrow.”
---
Danny walked into the classroom, nodding at Mr. Lancer.
“Ah, Mr. Fenton,” the teacher greeted him. “I was about to ask you for your help, but I see your inhibitors were fixed sooner than predicted.”
“Uh.” Danny paused, looking down at the bracelets around his wrists. “Yeah, I mean. They’re not up to 100% functionality, but… Wait. Why?”
“Us teachers, we had planned on giving you ample opportunity to use your powers while you could,” he explained, lowering his voice so no one else could overhear. Danny crept a little closer. “But we had planned on spreading it out a little, since we thought we had a few days.”
Danny blinked at him, surprised. “But… If you’re all okay with my powers, why do I still have to wear the inhibitors?”
“Principal Ishiyama is in charge, I’m afraid.” Lancer smiled, ruefully. “And even if we had more of a say in the matter, I’m afraid that our students’ parents are very vocal about allowing a ‘potentially dangerous’ ghost in the school.”
“Right,” Danny said, stomach plummeting. “I… of course.”
“It’s needlessly cruel, and untrue as well, but I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do about it.” Lancer patted his shoulder. “Listen, Danny. Just know that we, the teachers and the students, will always support you. We know you, the real you. Don’t mind those others too much, okay?”
He nodded. “Yeah, I… yeah. Thanks, Mr. Lancer.”
“Always.” Lancer gestured over to the classroom as a whole. “Better get seated now, Danny. And if you ever run into trouble…”
“I know who to ask.” Danny’s core chirped in his chest, and he smiled at Lancer. “Thanks.”
He walked back to his seat, sitting down between Sam and Tucker.
“What was that about?” Tucker asked, leaning closer. “You in trouble?”
“The opposite,” Danny admitted with a laugh. “Apparently all the teachers banded together to let me use my powers while the inhibitors were broken, but they got fixed faster than they’d expected.”
“Wow, really.” Sam blinked, turning to look at Lancer. “I didn’t expect them to be willing to rebel against Ishiyama like that.”
“Yeah,” Danny said, his core rumbling loud and pleased in his chest. “It keeps surprising me, too.”

Some random BNHA boys headcanons!
(Featuring K.Bakugou, H.Shinsou, H.Sero, and E.Kirishima!)
*I've seen all of the anime, so far, but am not very far in the manga. If some are canonically disproved, then I'll figure that out on my own time–
I do mention things I think up to the point of the school festival(I think that's around where the anime goes to, at current), though. If you haven't caught up to that point, you may not want to read this post.
Also! I love to interact. If you have anything to pitch in or would like to request specific headcanons or, hecc, I also love analyzing/pairing relationships, hmu!
TW, cheating and divorce! And self-loathe! Lengthiness under the cut!
Katsuki Bakugou
His dorm room is sort of a mix between Izuku's(not like he'll ever admit it), Eijirou's, and Kyouka's. The color scheme is prolly really based around his hero costume, with lots of blacks and oranges and maybe even a hint of green. Knowing his pride, even his sheets are prolly custom-made to match his aesthetic. Kat's got a punching bag and maybe other training equipment and, after the school festival, he ended up giving into his new hobby and got his hands on a drum kit. He's also got a couple of All Might merch, ofc– A poster, maybe a collectible here and there.
Katsuki isn't necessarily aromantic, because he does crush and knows a relationship-worthy person when he sees one. But, he strictly identifies as such because he feels it'd be selfish as a pro hero to have a lover than can be targeted. Plus, well, he has no interest in distractions, as tempting as it may be.
He's kinda like a tsundere when it comes to his parents' clothes lines, lmao. They love sending him stuff to wear and he honestly does feel pretty stylin' when he wears such, but he always protests and is all "Nada nada nada, I'm not some goddamn walking ad"
Kat's the only person in class 1-A who's completely fluent in English. Momo and Shouto are the only two that can really compete.
Hitoshi Shinsou
Shin's room is actually very cozy, warm, comfortable. He keeps a lot of cooler colors like grays, blues, and purples, with plain sheets. He also kinda sorta takes pride in the white fairy lights that decorate the walls– That lighting is kind of dim, but rediates calm vibes. He also has a sort of nest of plush pillows on his bed, that he can just sorta fall into at the end of a long day! It's surprisingly neat(other than his bed), as while he is too lazy to clean, Hitoshi's also too lazy to make a mess.
Over his time in UA, Hitoshi also develops his own sorta unlikely friend group! This includes Izuku Midoriya(Sports Featival, self-explanatory), Denki Kaminari(EraserMic parallels, plus I think a certain mangacap), Neito Monoma(It all started with a fist fight...), Momo Yaoyorozu(Responsible woman), and Mei Hatsume(They met during the Sports Festival). I like to think that Monoma and Shinsou are exes. It's a tolerate-hate relationship.
Similarly to Katsuki, Hitoshi sort of identified as ace-aro before having gotten with Neito. He doesn't really know what he identifies as, now, but he does crush every now and then.
Shin's got three pet cats! There's Bonji, a ginger tom of a housecat. He's a really prideful spoiled jerk that Hitoshi can't help but love, despite his ego. Bonji also probably ends up fathering Monster's kittens– She's a very very fluffy, chubby grey-and-white Manx. She's real snuggly and calm, and quiet. More of an observer than anything. Then there's Bear, this time a really whiny brown-and-white Manx that tends to get herself in trouble.
Also, if he's not a hero, then he's definitely a therapist. Or an author. Or both, most of the time. His office is called "Hear Meowt" and he's known for bringing cats in, from the local shelter.
Guns scare him. He thinks it's kind of a silly fear(especially for a pro hero) and would prolly get teased if it ever gets out, but– He could never bring himself to even shoot one. Gets all nervous if somebody in the room possesses one. The only class he puts 100% effort into, is Snipe's.
Also, Hito just– Never learned how to swim, cnejcmf. He's not scared of it or anything, and he's okay with hanging around a pool, but he can't swim and won't admit it.
Hanta Sero
Growing up he had a really bad habit of chewing his elbows(He also happens to be a flexible king) and ended up having to get braces(blush surgery because he messed up his goddamn elbOWs). That's why he has such straight teeth. He doesn't really like admitting it so he tries to be subtle but early on in the year he chewed on his retainer, too, and I bet there was one day where everybody just heard SNAP! from inside his mouth. Smile thru the pain, bby.
Also, yes, Hanta is a stoner– But! Being a hero-in-training, he's prolly ths most responsible stoner you've ever met. He'll never smoke on days that he has class or that he plans to train, and God forbid sharing his weed with others(unless, y'know, there's a responsible sober person around).
As such, he's not allowed to attend Bakugou's birthday. Doesn't stop anybody(other than Katsuki) from dragging him in, anyway, tho.
Eijirou Kirishima (But mostly his family)
His youngest sisters are the product of, ah, a cheating mother. So yeah, both parents are now divorced though the kids are in said mother's custody, because unfairness. Thing is, with a single mother that works, the situation gets especially bad after Ei moves into the dorms.
His older sister, the oldest of the kids, is Etsuko. She's 22 and left to America for college, as soon as she got the chance. She hates mom but is chill with all of her siblings, talking with them and dad whenever she gets the chance. Otherwise, her current girlfriend is a pro hero!
Then, after Eijirou, is Akari. He's 13-14 and filled with angst and anger and bitterness, not really going out of his way to show his hate toward the twins but definitely doing so if prompted. Their mom's sort of in the same boat, except for the fact that he just avoids her entirely. Akari takes after his dad, a lot, and sees him as a role model. Visits him whenever he gets the chance.
And then, there's Aiko and Aika(both twins, 8). Ko is really quiet, reserved, smart– She's the only of the two aware of why they don't have a father figure. As such, she has an internal self-loathe and does sometimes get angry and lash out, as a product. Ka's pretty much the opposite. She's real naive and fun and loud, the kind to play sports and gossip about boys and playfully tease her siblings. She doesn't really know much or care about the situation, but she does wish Akira would be nicer :(
As for Eijirou? Well, he's in a real tough situation. He loves both his mom and dad to pieces and could never exactly take a side, even if a small part of him resents mom for what she'd done to the family. After the divorce and especially after Etsuko left, he became sort of the man of the house, taking responsibility for all of his younger siblings. He caters to both his mother and father and though there is a lot of tense energy between the three, Ei gets by. After the dorms are implemented, he takes every chance that he possibly could to slip by.

——————
Finn was the first one to wake up from the crash, he look around him as he try to find the others, it didn’t take him a long time to find one of his friends, he run to the Yn, she was lie back with her mask still on, his first instinct was to take the mask off and start shake her, when she finally open her eyes he stop and help her to get up.
-Are you ok? Where’s Dameron?- she ask.
-I don’t know, I can’t found him.
Suddenly the hear an explosion, they found the ship where they were traveling on fire, Yn try to go closer to found Poe but Finn pull her over.
-Let me go, he could still be out there...
-You can’t go in there, it’s probably too late, we need to get out of here- he said and after a few seconds she stop fighting and she nod.
-We should throw the masks to the fire, if we’re lucky they will found them and think that we die on the fire- He nod and do what she said, Finn found Poe’s jacket and give it to her.
-I think he would like you to keep it...
-Why would you think that?
-Come on, you two were flirting with each other.
-What? Are you nuts? We hate each other...
-Yeah right, that’s why you almost walk to the fire for him- she scoff.
-I’ll do the same for you too.
-Yeah, right...- he said as he handed the jacket, she take it and put her on.
-Come on, we need to found that droid and a way to get out of this place.
They walk for a while through the desert, every now and then they look around them to try to find a town or someone who can help them but they didn’t found them. After a few hours Yn start to feel how the sun burn her face, she use the jacket as an attempt to protect her of the sun, she look at Finn who looks just as thirsty as her, she offer him a space in the jacket. As they keep walking they start to talk about their lives, she felt sorry for him after he told her how he join to the first order.
-I’m sorry- she said.
-Why? It wasn’t your fault...
-But still, I wasn’t the best person with any of you- she said.
-But you weren’t the worst- he said -at least you were the cutest... no wait, I’m lying, the cutest was Hux- Both of them laugh.
-I know what you mean, those eyes are dreamy- she said with sarcasm.
After a few more hours they finally see a little junkyard, both of them look at each other before they run as fast as they could and they start to search for water, Yn got lucky and some of the old women’s of the junkyard give her a bottle with water, but No one help Finn so when Yn found him, he was drinking water from the pit, she was about to make fun of him but they hear the scream of a girl, Finn try to help her but he stop when he saw that she was capable to fight them. They saw how the girl kneel in front of the bag a droid, Yn recognize it, but before she could said a thing Finn took her hand and start to run through the tents, but in a blink of an eye the girl was in front of them and she hit them with a stick making them fall to the grown, BB-8 roll to them an give Yn and electric shock as he start to beep.
-What the hell?- Yn said.
-what’s your deal thieves?
-Thieves?- Finn ask.
-The jacket... the droid said you stole it- the girl said, Finn try to explain themselves but the girl speak again -Where did you get it? It belong to his master- Finn and Yn look at each other.
-Poe?- Yn ask.
-Poe Dameron, that was his name right?- Finn asked to the droid -He was capture by the first order, we help him to scape...
-I’m sorry buddy- Yn said to BB-8 -We try to save him- when BB-8 understand what happened, he slowly rolled outside of the tent.
-so are you with the resistance?
-Obviously, yes I’m with the resistance- Finn said, Yn shook her head.
-I‘ve never meet someone of the resistance before- she said and she turn to the droid -BB-8 said he’s on a secret mission, he has to get back to you base-
-Apparently he has the map that lead to Luke Skywalker- Yn punch him in the arm before the girl turn to them.
-Luke Skywalker?- she whisper -I thought he was a myth...
BB-8 came to the tent beeping fast about something outside, when they saw what was going on they realize that a couple of stormtroopers were looking for them, some guys point at them and the stormtroopers start to run to them, Yn was preparing to fight them but Finn took her and the girl’s hand and they start to run, the girl lead them to one of the tents, and Finn and Yn start to search the place for something they could use to fight back.
-They shoot to all of us- the girls say a little freak out.
-Yeah, they saw you with us, your marked.
-Well thanks for that- she said, Yn keep an eye on the outside and she had an idea.
-Hey, it’s there any ship we can use to scape?- she asked to the girl after a few moments she nod -great, go there, I’ll buy you time...
-What? no!- Finn start to protest.
-I’ll find you, just wait for me- she said and turn to the girl -Can I borrow that?- she point as the stick she had, Rey give it her without hesitate -thanks, see you in a beat.
Yn run through the tents as she look for the stormtroopers, she saw them not so far from where they were hiding, she slow down and hide in front of a pile of spare parts , when she hear them getting close to her she attack them, they try to shoot her but she hit them with spear, she thank snoke for all the training hours, when she knock them out she hear the Ties flying above her, she look for the others and saw them running to a ship she go after them and she stop when she saw part of the millennial falcon.
-Yn! Come on!- Finn scream to her, one of the ties shot landed close to her, when she get to the ship she sit on the copilot chair.
-you know how to fly?- Yn ask to the girl, she give her a quick nod -Ok let’s go, I turn on the shields.
They flew through the planet trying to lose them, Finn start to shoot at them but they were faster and they were giving him a hard time, the girl took them to an old ship from the empire and she tried to make one of the ties crash with the ship but it didn’t work, the Tie was still follow them, Finn took the opportunity to take one of it and he shot at it making it crash in the sand, the three of them celebrate but it didn’t long when they saw the other Tie start to follow their tracks as he shoot at them, one of the shots give it to the canyon of the ship.
-The canyon is stuck in front position, I can’t move it- Finn said- you got to lose it.
-Get ready!- The girl said as she fly to the inside of the battlecruse.
-Are we really going to do this?- Yn asked, she nod in response -Ok, Finn be prepared, if you got a chance to shoot that tie, take it!
-Don’t worry I’m going to give him that chance.
She keep going and suddenly she make a turn getting out of the cruise, she fly up and turn off the engines giving Finn the chance he need, he wait until the Tie was in his radar and shoot. When they thought they were safe, they put the automatic pilot and made their way to the crew compartment to meet Finn.
-That was amazing!- Yn said.
-Did you see me shoot at those Ties?- Finn ask.
-Yes, your getting pretty good at this- Yn said -And nice flying by the way!
-How did you do that?- Finn ask to the girl.
-I don’t know- she answer.
-You never fly before?- Yn ask.
-I flew some ships but never leave the planet before- she said -That last shoot was amazing!- BB-8 beep making them to look at him -You’re ok, they’re from the resistance- BB-8 look at the others -We’re going to get you home- she turn to the them -I don’t know your names.
-Finn- he said.
-Yn R...- she stop before she say her last name -what’s yours?
-I’m Rey.
-Rey...
Finn start to said but something on the ship blow and they could see the gas coming from the grown, Rey go to the hide compartment and try to fix it, she was giving instruction to Finn as they keep working, Yn took the BB-8 a little far from them and she try to convince him to tell them the location of the resistance base, but the droid was hard to break, he told her that she look familiar.
-Ok, buddy I’ll tell you the truth, but only if you promise me to tell me the location after I finish- the droid accept -Yeah you right, You meet me before, My name is Yn Ren- she whisper, the droid start to panic -Shhh -She try to make him be quiet, but the droid keep beeping -Come on that was months ago...
-You said it was weeks ago- Finn said whispering.
-Ok Two weeks, but I didn’t kill him, I try to save him...
-Yes that was right, she was going to walk through the fire to save him- Finn said with a grin, the droid told him that Poe once told him that he thought she was pretty.
-I told you he was flirting- Finn said.
-Yeah right, that’s why he want to leave me behind...
-Do you know where the base is?- Rey interrupted them.
-Yes, come on BB-8, tell her- Finn said, but the droid keep watching them, until he finally beeps.
-The illenium system?
-Yes the illenium system, get us there as fast as you can- Finn said.
-I’ll drop you in the Panima terminal, I need the bond tape, hurry- Yn took the tape and give it to her.
-What about you- Finn ask.
-I got back to Jakku.
-Back to... why is everyone want to go back to Jakku?- he said but suddenly the lights from the ship went off, they look at each other.
-I can finish this, take us out of here- Yn said to Rey.
They went to the cockpit as she keep working on the leak but they didn’t went for a long of time, after they explain her what was going on they gave her a mask. After a few seconds of tension they hear a couple of footsteps, in that moment Yn feel him, a man that she didn’t see for a long time. Rey was about to unsolved the leak but Yn stop her, in that moment a Wookiee and an old man found them. Han look at the three of them but she stop on Yn, Chewbacca Roar, making Rey and Finn to step back.
-Hi chewie...
-You Can understand that thing?- Finn asked her
-And that thing Can understand you, so watch it- Han step back so they could get out of the hole -What are you doing here?- Han ask his daughter and he start to walk around the room.
-You know him?- Finn ask him.
-Yeah... he’s my father- she told him.
-Where did you get this ship?
-Niima Outpost...
-From Jakku? That junkyard?
After Rey told Han who had the ship, he walk to the cockpit follow by Rey but instead of follow them, Yn sit on the dejarik board, Chewbacca sit next to her and roar.
-I been fine, Chewie, I miss to play with you too, I think I’ve been the only one who can beat you- she said with a smile, Han come back to the room and look at her daughter, but he didn’t look at her in the eyes, chewie roar again.
-That’s right you didn’t answer my question...
-I would if you weren’t more curious about the ship.
-I’m hearing you now- he said, she take her time to answer him.
-I... can’t do it anymore... I didn’t want to follow him...
-Your going home?- he ask and she scoff.
-I think I just going to take that droid to the resistance and disappear.
-Wait who’s jacket is that?- BB-8 answer him before she could -Who’s Poe? Am I suppose to know who the hell is him?
-He’s just a pilot from the resistance, this is his droid, he died when we scape-She said.
-Well at least it wasn’t my fault, anyone who try to get close to my little girl, he had to pass through me- she roll her eyes.
-I’m not a little girl any more...
-I don’t care... I’m just glad that you’re back, kid... you’re back right?
-Yeah, I think so.
-Good, I miss you.
-I miss you too... dad- she said with a weak smile.

Lost on You (Chapter 1)
(AO3)
Summary: After over a year on a roller coaster ride, Kaneki leaves prison and attempts to make amends for his mistakes.
Word Count: 2,118
*****
“Here are your things. You may exit through that door.” The guard slid Kaneki his things through a small opening in the glass and pointed towards the metal door leading to the outside world. He put on his jacket, bloodstains still on it.
That’s gonna be a bitch to dry clean.
After checking his wallet, Kaneki pushed the metal door open and walked outside to find a vintage red Mustang with a familiar face standing besides it.
“Where’s Touka?”
“I missed you too, buddy. Please try to contain your excitement at seeing me.” Hide chuckled as he came up closer and embraced the dark-haired man. It took a while for Kaneki to hug him back. He wasn’t sure when the last time he was held by anyone was. Definitely over a month. Maybe over three months. Not since T…
“You smell like shit.” Hide wrinkled his nose and stepped back while comically waving his hand.
“Yeah, prison can do that to you.” Kaneki made his way to the front seat of the car and leaned it back.
“Did they make you shower with expired chicken stock?” Hide got into the driver’s seat and turned on the ignition. Pop music blared from the radio as he reversed the car and sped onto the main street. “My place is closer than yours, we’ll stop there so you can shower and have a change of clothes.”
“Just take me home.” Kaneki sounded exhausted. He slid down his seat and placed his arm over his eyes.
“No can do. Akira wants to see you.”
Kaneki groaned. “I just got out. I can’t attend a work meeting right now.”
“Hey man, it’s the least you could do. She busted her ass to get you out.” Hide sounded playful but Kaneki knew him well enough to know there was a tinge of reproach in his voice. Akira must have pulled a lot of strings she did not want to pull. The familiar wave of guilt washed over him and his throat tightened.
“Will Touka be there?” And would she speak to me if she was?
“I don’t know, I think she’s been busy with a new client.”  Hide was tapping his fingers against the wheel with the music but Kaneki could feel his eyes glancing at him with concern. “I thought guys got buff in jail, how did you manage to get thinner?” Hide tried to cheer up the atmosphere by teasing him but his mind was already elsewhere.
“Yeah, well, prison food tastes like shit.” Kaneki replied absentmindedly. He couldn’t actually remember what prison food tasted like or if he even ate it. He couldn’t remember much of anything besides the thoughts that kept a watchful rotation in his head like a music worm you can’t hum your way out of.
“Don’t worry about that. Tonight I’ll take you out for the best meal of your life. It’ll be a mukbang of all your favorite foods. Gotta celebrate you surviving prison.”
Kaneki didn’t react. He was already humming his tune.

Breaking news! Our favorite hot mess, Ken Kaneki, is out of prison after only serving one month of his prison sentence! Insider sources tell us a deal was mediated with the prosecution and the actor was released on parole this morning! We contacted his agency for a statement on the release of the famous one eyed dragon but they have yet to reach out. Do you think he got off easy? Share your thoughts with us on our social media at…
Akira closed her browser tab and took a deep sigh. She could already feel a headache forming behind her eyes and she was positive it will get worse within the next few hours. She pressed her intercom button “Hairu, could you please get me some water and Paracetamol before Kaneki gets here?”
“Yes, ma’am” The reply was quick and Akira immediately heard the sound of Hairu leaving her desk to the communal office area.
How will we spin this one?
Throughout the last year, working as Kaneki’s publicist meant she has had to bend over backwards and use every trick up her sleeve to maintain a modicum of a career for him. Paying exuberant amounts of money to cover up his drug use, settlements, bribes, killing stories and videos of his repeated arrests, convincing prostitutes not to post photos of him snorting cocaine off them on their Instagram, negotiating with producers and directors to keep him on their movies even though he’s consistently 6 hours late to set and doesn’t even know his lines.
It’s just a phase; he’s going through a difficult time.
Or so she kept telling herself as he punched and kicked and snorted his way through the five stages of grief. It took less than 3 months to change his reputation from the ‘wholesome child star who made it’ into a violent drug addict who couldn’t stay sober for a five minutes morning statement of apology. His childhood portraits turned into snarky memes on social media mocking his downward spiral. Tabloids competed to come up with the most outrageous story of the day about him, and they didn’t have to work too hard to find them.
Hairu knocked at the door. Akira nodded for her to enter. She placed a sheet of pills and a water bottle on her desk then moved out. Akira interrupted her at the door “Is Touka in the office today?”
“No, ma’am. She went to Italy yesterday for the photoshoot.”
Thank God. “Thank you, Hairu.” At least that will be one less outburst to deal with today. Hairu nodded and closed the door behind her.
Kaneki would definitely make a scene if Touka was around. He has managed to botch every interaction they had ever since they broke up and Touka has been through enough last few months. There was no need to add the burden of handling Kaneki just yet.
Speak of the devil.
Akira’s phone lit up with a message from Hide: “Just dropped Kaneki off. He’s all yours.”
Akira took a deep breath and reached for the pills.
***
Kaneki felt every eye in the hall on him. He had hoped his entry would be inconspicuous but looking at his reflection in the elevator, he realized he may have overdone it a bit with the black. He looked like a modern day rendition of the grim reaper if he wanted to start a goth band. Kaneki clicked the 14th floor button, Creative Celebrity Globe.
What a dumb fucking name.
Unconsciously, Kaneki started tapping his foot. He wasn’t sure what to expect with Akira but he doubted it will be anything good. But that wasn’t the thing making him nervous.
What if Touka is in her office? I should go say hi. Right? She wouldn’t mind that. It’s only being civil.
The elevator doors opened and Kaneki instinctually went to the right, room 1407. The door was locked and the lights were out. He looked inside and Touka’s bag wasn’t on the table by the window. Music wasn’t playing on her computer. His eyes searched for the bunny calendar he got her but it wasn’t on the wall next to the desk. Kaneki felt a pit in his stomach at the thought she might have thrown it away.
“Kaneki! Glad to have you back.” Akira’s voice snapped Kaneki out of his thoughts. Akira gestured towards her office with a formal smile on her face. The dark circles around her eyes had deepened since the last time she visited him in prison. She followed him as he made his way into her office and closed the door behind them.
“I’m sure you didn’t want to come here today but we need to discuss our plan from now on.” Akira said matter-of-factly as she pulled a few folders from her drawer. “There will be a shit storm next couple of weeks so it’s best if you lay low. That means no social media, no going out, no smoking, no alcohol, no drugs, no midnight visits from attentive women, alright?”
Kaneki rolled his eyes. “Why not just tie me to a chair and be done with it?”
“Will that be necessary?” Akira’s glare was hard. Kaneki wanted to glare back but he felt too ashamed to try it.
Akira continued. “After that, I have set some volunteer activities for you to join. We’ll leak photos after you prove your presence with the other volunteers. If we feel the time is right, Hairu will start posting on your social media to begin rehabilitating your image and …”
“Isn’t it best if Touka does that?” Kaneki interrupted. “She is more familiar with my personal brand.”
Akira’s look would have been almost condescending if not for the pity. “You don’t have a personal brand left, and Touka no longer works on your team.” Akira said slowly, as if she was talking to a child. “Hairu is more than competent enough for this task.”
Kaneki’s foot started tapping aggressively but he didn’t say anything.
“If all goes right, we might be able to get you a role on a Netflix show set to start production in 6 months. I’m personal friends with the director and he would be willing to hire you as a favor for me.” Akira placed her fists beneath her chin. “That is if you get your act together.”
“What if I don’t want to do that?” Kaneki asked defiantly. He had been feeling like a puppet steered by the people around him for the last month and he wasn’t looking forward to being that puppet for the next six months.
“Don’t want what? To get your act together?” Akira’s eyebrow rose. “I’m afraid that’s implied in your parole.” She leaned back in her chair with crossed hands.
“No, I mean acting. I mean this whole life. Can’t I just retire now? I’ve done my time.” Kaneki was getting antsy in his seat. The room felt as it was getting smaller. Akira’s voice was becoming distant. His foot was basically shaking now instead of tapping. He wanted to go back to Touka’s office and look for the calendar. She wouldn’t have thrown it away.
“With whose money do you plan to do that?” Akira’s question was like a jolt of electricity.
“What do you mean whose money? Mine of course!” Kaneki’s voice rose on the last word.
“Would that be the money you spent on drugs? Or travels? Or lawyers? Or settlements?” Akira dropped one of the folders in front of him. “You still have fees and settlements worth millions to pay. You can’t afford to retire unless you’re willing to go back to jail for much longer than you were sentenced.” Akira opened the folder and pointed to a signature line. “That’s why I need you to sign here. We’re selling your apartment.”
Akira’s voice grew distant again. Kaneki’s choices for the last year fell crashing on him and his breath stopped in his chest. “I can’t do that.” He managed to croak out.
He really couldn’t. That apartment was the first thing he ever bought with his money. He bought it for himself and Touka. He decorated it with Touka. That apartment was where they spent their first night together. Even after they broke up, he didn’t let any other woman in there. That place was his and Touka’s, together. Selling it would mean letting go of that final thread holding them together.
“You have to, Kaneki.” Akira’s tone was sympathetic but firm. “You could be sued if you don’t pay some of those fees and your royalties right now won’t cut it. People are still mad at you and won’t show your movies or buy them.”
“Isn’t there any work I can do right now? I’ll do anything.” Kaneki was quietly pleading. “Can’t I take money from the trust fund?”
“No, Arima was very clear in his will that you cannot access that till you’re 30. I already asked the lawyers.” Akira felt a hitch in her throat at the mention of Arima, and looking at Kaneki, she could tell he felt the same.
Kaneki’s tone became stern “I’ll have to think about this before I sign.” He stood up. “Where are my keys?” He extended his hand.
“You won’t be staying at your place. Too many photographers.” She handed him the folder. “You’ll stay at Hide’s place till you finish the Netflix production.”
Kaneki snatched the folder from Akira’s hand and walked outside. He couldn’t hide the anger in his step. He pressed the elevator’s button as if it offended him personally. He took another look at the document inside the folder before throwing the whole thing in the trash.

My Choice
Bucky Barnes x reader (post Endgame)
Y/N and Bucky handle the aftermath of Steve leaving to return to Peggy.
Warnings: anger, language
——————————————————————————
Something was wrong.
Bruce had returned to the compound in alarming silence, carrying his equipment alone. I knew what had happened as soon as I saw it. The brown bag slung over Sam’s shoulder. My heart clenched.
How could he? Of course I knew why, I just couldn’t believe he’d actually done it. Suddenly fear krept up my throat. What if... It was quickly forgotten as Bucky walked through the door. His head hung low and his brow was pulled together deep in thought. The pain of loss etched into every angle of his face. I couldn’t stop the anger that began to boil inside of me.
“Steve, uh. Steve’s gone.” Bucky mumbled barely raising his head. His eyes dare not drift from the speck of lint on the blue carpet. I couldn’t stand the sight of his saddened face anymore. Without a word I turned and stomped to the gym, my nails digging into my palms.
It has been about 2 hours since the boys returned sans one Rogers. My knuckles are bruised from the rage filled punches I have been throwing at the swinging bags. Every punch is harder than the last as my arms begin to feel like jelly. With a final sad jab to the bag I flop down to the mats and stare at the white tiled ceiling. My head spins with thoughts. Hurt. Betrayal. Confusion. Sadness. No single emotion sticks out and I close my eyes to silence the storm. A shower- I need a shower. As I stand to head to the locker room, Sam opens the door.
“Hey” he takes a seat at the bench.
“Hi.”
“I figured I’d find you here. Tin man told me you left all pissy.” He looks at me expectedly. My knuckles are starting to throb now. All I can focus on are my shoe laces. “So that’s it then. You’re not going to talk?”
“What do you want me to say Wilson?” I look at him now, throwing my hands in the air.
“Well for starters you can tell me why you’re-“
“You know damn well why.” I snap. I’m stopped from turning away by Sam’s hand gently grabbing my wrist.
“C’mon Y/N, you can’t honestly tell me you’re surprised. We saw this coming a mile away.” He had a point. The thought had crossed my mind atleast once before today. But I never expected him to actually do it.
“He had a chance to go back. To go home.”
“He was home Sam. We were his home, his friends.”
“I know but-“
“No. You don’t get it.” I can’t help but laugh bitterly “I suppose you’re just happy he’s gone. Don’t think I didn’t notice that fancy toy you brought back with you. So what you’re the new captain america now? Geez Wilson”
“Hey woah. That’s enough. I know you’re hurt. Believe me I am too, really I am, but I’m not the one to start blaming.” Sam’s tone is gentle but firm. I sigh and take a seat on the bench next to him.
“Yeah I know I’m sorry. I’m not sure why I’m even acting so angry. I’m personally not that hurt. For us it’s not so bad. We and Steve were close, but I get why he did it. But for him to do this to Bucky. I can’t forgive him for that Sam. How can he just throw away everything they had? Did the last seven years mean nothing? I mean he went from fighting his own comrades for Buck to leaving him without even a heads up??? How could he possibly do that?!” As I talk my anger grows. It only intensifies as I hear the man beside me laugh.
“Oh man. You really like him don’t you?” I blush. After being recruited to the team a few years back, Barnes and I grew close and I developed a crush on him. In order to save myself the embarrassment I hid it as best I could. Between the late night talks, recon missions, and lazy days off my crush had grown into serious feelings for the sargent. It was awful when I lost him in the snap. I thought I’d never see him again. I turned to Steve for comfort during that time. He knew how much Bucky meant to me. When I saw him after five years, I swore my heart was going to burst. Yet still these feelings had never been addressed out loud.
“Oh come on it’s not like it was a secret. We all practically knew you had feelings for the guy.” I shrug might as well tell someone now.
“Yes. I do. I suppose that has something to do with my pissy attitude.”
“You should talk to him.”
“Maybe. But right now I need a shower and sleep. I’ll see you tomorrow Wilson and hey, I’m sorry. For what it’s worth I think Steve made the right choice. You’ll be a great Captain. I’m just not sure I’m ready to see a different face behind the shield yet.” He nods with a soft smile on his lips. He leaves as I head to the showers.
I lay in bed trying to force my mind to sleep. Every muscle in my body is exhausted but my brain cannot rest. As I try to fathom the fact that I will never see Steve again tears fall down my face. As pain siezes my chest, I can only think of how much harder it must be for Bucky right now. Oh Buck, I’m so sorry.
(Bucky’s POV)
It hurt like hell. I gave up on sleep hours ago, and instead let my mind wonder to the painful memory of this morning. The look on her face. Her brokenness and anger. It just about killed me. She ran off and I didn’t see her for the rest of the night. I thought about trying to go talk to her, but I didnt think I could face seeing her so upset again. So I ate a few things and then came to my room.
Steve leaving had been hard. But I wasn’t shocked in the slightest. I got to say goodbye, and that was it. The walk back to the compound was quiet. My stomach felt uneasy as I tried to face the fact I’d have to tell Y/N. It had been hard knowing the pain she went through during the - what did the kid call it oh yeah- during the blip. But now this. This would destroy her, and the thought of her pain alone made me sick to my stomach.
I give up on sleep, and I make my way to the kitchen. I open the fridge door and idly scan the shelves. I hear the floorboard creek and turn to see her standing there in her black cotton shorts and Central Park zoo T-shirt-specifically bought 2 sizes to big for sleeping. Finally my eyes make it to her face and- She’s been crying. The end of her nose is pink, and her eyes are still glossy. Son of a bitch. The sight almost makes my knees buckle and my stomach turn. I have known Steve all of my life. On many occasions I’ve stepped in to save him from the messes he got himself into, but right now in this moment I could kill him. I could never forgive him for the pain he brought to the beautiful girl in front of me.
(Reader’s POV)
Bucky’s eyes hold mine for a second until I look away at the empty space in the dark room.
“Can’t sleep?” I ask in a shaky voice. I miss the small step he takes forward as if to reach out to me.
“Nope, and I take it you can’t either.” He pauses for a moment before he grabs two glasses, the milk and a package of cookies. “C’mere.” I follow him to the couch that faces the floor to ceiling windows and sit down. He hands me a blanket and I wrap it around my shoulders. A small smile dances on my lips as he sits beside me and pours the milk for each of us.
“Thank you.” I say as I take my cup form him. For a while we eat our cookies in silence. I stare out the large windows at the stars shining outside the compound. I can feel his eyes on me. His emotions roll off of him in waves. Hurt and anger.
“You have every right to be angry at him.” I say turning to catch him give a puzzled look before turning his pensive gaze to the crumbs on the table. His eyes meet mine again before he asks,
“Why do you think I’m angry?”
“I know you well enough by now to know when you’re angry James.” I say. His mouth turns up into a smile at the mention of his real name. “He deserves every ounce of your anger for leaving.”
“Well you’re right I am upset, but it’s not for my sake. I’ll miss him, but I understand why this is how things had to be.” I search his eyes for answers as he chooses his next words. “Those tear stains on your cheeks should never have had to happen, though. I hate to see you hurt like this.”
I shake my head at his words. Of course Bucky would be thinking of others even while going through this great loss. “He left you Buck. After all you all have been threw. After everything he did to bring you back and then he leaves you. Just after you get back from.....” I trail off and a shiver rubs up my spine. “He betrayed your friendship. With no warning. How could you not be upset.”
The metal in his arm whirs as he fiddled with his fingers.
“He told me he was going to do it.”
“What?”
“A few days ago. He came to my room and wanted my advice. He talked about how he never adjusted to this life. How he longed to be back in his own time. With her. He saw her, ya know? When he went for the stone. And he couldn’t stand to stay when he knew he could have her.” He continues his story as I sit with my mouth hung open in shock.
“He still shouldn’t have left you behind. I’m sure you are longing to get back to your time too. You could’ve gone. He’s not the only one that was lost in the 40s. How selfish could he be to leave you here like that.” I turn to face him completely on the couch. He is staring at the stars again now when he tightens his lips and shakes his head.
“He offered.”
I stared at him in awe. The anger inside me suddenly deflated.
“He wanted me to go with him. But I chose to stay. Y/N he didn’t abandon me it was my choice.” He glances at me, then turns to face me as well.
“Steve never really left the past. Not completely. But I’ve been modernized wether I chose it or not. There’s no place for a metal armed war vet like me there. I’d be an outcast and even more of a freak.”
“Oh don’t say that. You’re not a freak.” I reach and grab his hand. His thumb rubs the back of my hand.
“But th-that’s not the main reason I stayed.” I wait patiently with his hand in mine for him to continue. He takes a deep breath to calm himself before he looks into my eyes. His beautiful eyes. I get lost in them searching for any possible clue. I see his nervousness, and something more. Something familiar that I can’t quite place.
“It’s you.” Tears begin to fill my eyes as the soldier in front of me pulls my hands up to his mouth to kiss each one. “Steve found the love of his life at the beginning of the war. Fate ripped them apart and he found a chance to go back to her. So he took it. But I don’t have to go back. I found mine right here, doll. So I’m staying” he looks at me with one of his classic Sargent Barnes grins. My heart leaps out of my chest and butterflies flutter in my stomach. I grab his face and crash my lips onto his. We pull away breathless as our foreheads rest together. “I don’t want to be in any other time or place if it’s not with you.”
“James Buchanan Barnes, you never cease to amaze me.” I giggle as he wraps his arms around me. We sit there in each other’s embrace watching the stars.
As my eyes start to close he leans down to plant a kiss on the top of my head.
“This. This was my choice.”

Dads in Charge
A Preview of the first part of my short story! ;) It’s about the boys having to take care of all their superpowered children while their wives are on vacation. It can by read on Wattpad, Archiveofourown.org and fanfiction.net under the username 3mi1y02. Enjoy!
---
The green puff bounced on top of her uniformly colored suitcase, struggling to fit all of her clothes as her husband laughed, laying on the bed beside her. She glared playfully, "Don't laugh, fucker. Help me."
"Shouldn't this have been done days ago?" He questioned, lazily getting up to help push the dark-toned tops and bottoms into the case. "Plus don't you think they would fit if you, I don't know, actually folded them?"
Buttercup gave him a weird glance before muttering, "Ew, extra work." to which he gave a polite chuckle.
She pursed her lips, "And yes but we're not gonna let Leader girl know that or she'll have my head. Besides I forget things when I don't pack last minute and I would have an even bigger problem with my other sister if I forgot our matching Powerpuff swimsuits."
"Mmm, wifey in a bikini?" Butch shut his eyes dreamingly, opening them again in a manner that resembled a pleading dog. "Please make sure I can get a picture of that beautiful sight before anyone else can?"
"You wish." She chuckled, not exactly denying her husband of that pleasure herself but reminding him of her younger sister. "Bubbles will have taken enough selfies and posted them before I can say 'Wait lemme pick up my privacy first'. That girl takes blogging to a new level." Buttercup finally giving up trying to zip the suitcase up all the way before she broke it, opted to just tell Blossom that she needed a bigger suitcase.
"Shame. Just another reason why your amazing hubby should be coming with you." Butch sighed, pulling her by the waist to stand between his legs on the edge of the bed. "Y'know we'd have a lot of good old fashioned fun down there."
"The whole point of the trip is to be just with the girls, Butch." She teased, knowing full well she wouldn't mind bringing him with her to a relaxing private island. It could've been like their actual honeymoon.
"I know but you could stash me in your suitcase like a-"
"Butch, my suitcase can barely fit the few clothes I even wanna bring. What makes you think I could fit you too- Bear? Hold on a minute." The 25-year-old mother turned towards the open doorway, where their son stood frozen. His back turned away from his parents as he tried to sneak past.
The 5-year-old turned slowly, grinning wide and facing his mother, said, "Yes, momma?" in the sweetest most innocent voice he could muster.
"What do you have in your hand?" Buttercup challenged, assuming an authoritarian stance that she had learned from Blossom. Legs spread. Hands on hips. Face stern.
"Ooo, you in trouble now baby Bear." Butch snickered at his son from behind Buttercup to which she reminded herself to punch him for later.
"What? Nothing momma..." The little boy lied before seeing his mother's disbelief stricken face. "Just this knife." He pulled a small needle-pointed knife from behind him.
"What is your obsession with knives lately? Give it." He obeyed. "Now go play with regular kid things like a damn baseball or something."
"Yes momma..." He muttered, hanging his head.
"That's my boy!" Butch called after his son as the door to the room closed.
"Where'd he even get this?" Buttercup's voice rang through the wood as Bear walked down the hallway, concentrating his hands together before a small dagger formed in his hands. He smiled and ran down the steps passing his red-haired uncle and aunt in the kitchen.
===
"Bear! No playing with knives, we need them and you could break something!" Blossom hollered.
"Ok Auntie red!" He responded, not even attempting to pretend as if he would listen and Blossom sighed. She loved her little nieces and nephews, she really did, but cripes did they ever listen? It only worried her how the boys would survive with all 6 of them by themselves.
"Ugh anyway, The twin's blankets?"
"Check." Brick noted, allowing Bailey, his 3-month-old, to grab at his beard. His super strength hadn't kicked in yet so Brick didn't mind. But it was possible that he probably wouldn't ever mind.
"How about Bailey's pacifier?" She asked, attempting to pace around the kitchen island while her 4-year-old son Bernard held her leg, following her everywhere she went. "Oh Bern honey, Mommy's not going anywhere. You can go play." The little boy shook his head and his mother sighed in defeat. She couldn't imagine what he'd do when she actually did have to leave for this vacation.
"He's got it right here." Brick said holding the baby out in front of him for his wife to see the cherry tinted pacifier between his lips. She smiled as Bailey giggled seeing his mother and kissed his forehead.
"Ok...packs of diapers?" Blossom quizzed, looking over the list in her hand.
"Check."
"How many? BC told me little Butterfly still hasn't gotten a hand of potty training so you'd need extras just in case." Blossom pointed out. "I'd hate to be all the way in Bora Bora when you all run out of diapers and face an accident of some sort-"
"Which is why I had Boomer go out and get 4 more packs. Something I can get him to do again if we do run out." Brick countered, knowing how anxious and worried his wife could get and was getting.
"Great, but what about-"
"Bloss, we'll be fine I promise you. We're all adults, parents even. 3 grown adults in charge while you three are gone. you don't have anything to be worried about, seriously." Brick reasoned, admiring Bailey as he attempted to eat his old man's sausage fingers.
"Yea but with 6 kids Brick? And you know Butch and Boomer can sometimes slip into man-children every now and then. I don't want you to have to be in charge of all 8 of them!"
"Ok, You got me there, babe. Last week I walked in on Boomer laying on Bubbles like he was her second child. Didn't even know where poor Bambi was." The red-eyed ruff cackled lazily. "But still, I'm here to keep them in check. I mean I've been doing it for what? 25 years now? You know I can handle it. Don't worry."
"I know, I just..." She trailed off, pulling Bailey's curls away from his chubby face. "I don't want anything to go wrong while I'm not- I mean.." She stopped looking down at Bern, who was watching her closely with his thumb firmly in his mouth. "I mean while I'm here cause I won't be going anywhere."
Brick rolled his crimson eyes as Boomer walked into the large kitchen, opening up the fridge for an off brand soda, "Hey little buddy, why don't you go watch some tv with your cousins in the playroom? Bambi told me Frozen 2 is really good, maybe even better than the first movie." The little boy shook his head silently, holding on to Blossom's pant leg tightly.
"Aw, why not? It'll be fun besides you can't stick by your mom forever."
"Nooo, mommy nah going anywhere." Bern spoke softly but firmly as if he knew for certain his mother would actually stay by him forever. Poor boy.
"It's ok Boom, we stopped trying." Brick sighed, Bailey now taking a liking to the tattoos that lined his skin.
"Well, it's gonna be really hard for us to calm him down after you lea- OW!" He yelped and rubbed an already fading burn mark on his arm. "I mean...right. You're not leaving to go anywhere. I don't know what I was thinking."
Blossom rolled her eyes, "C'mon Bern honey let's go recount the boxes of snacks that Brielle isn't allowed to eat." She strolled out of the kitchen and towards the garage, Bern holding her hand tightly as they passed his blue-eyed Aunt.
"Why hello, Bernie." He waved bashfully. "Bloss, do you have all your bags ready? I caught Buttercup upstairs trying to finish packing."
"Of course she was but yes, they're in the car. Ready as soon as I can find a way to get away from this one." She whispered the last part at a decimal that only Bubbles could hear and she nodded.
"Ah, gotcha. Well, good luck!" She giggled, lightly floating into the kitchen area.
"Thanks, I'll need it."
===
"Hello boys, are you two ready to take on all the kids at once?" Bubbles grinned excitedly, no doubt the whole idea of this trip had been her planning.
"Of course we are suger. We're all experienced caretakers with wonderful daddy skills. I mean look at Daddy red over there with his 3rd child. He's practically a baby expert." Boomer boasted, jabbing his thumb towards Brick who was starting to pick up a not so pleasant smell from his son.
"We'll be fine, childproofed the whole house and got all the rooms basically set up. Now if you'll excuse me, this baby expert needs to change this one's diaper before it spills out onto his arm." Daddy red stood up, holding Bailey's bottom away from his canine nose as he flew upstairs.
"I just can't wait to get there, I've never been to Bora bora y' know?" The blonde sighed, setting herself onto the counter next to Boomer as she daydreamed.
"You have no idea how jealous I am of you right now angel. A relaxing island getaway sounds like so much more fun than taking care of 6 children with my brothers."
"Aw don't worry Boomie. I'm sure you all will have lots of fun. In fact, I think I'm the jealous one here."
"You? How? You'll be soaking up the sun with a tall drink and a handsome waiter named Alejandro serving your every need." He joked with a hint of jealousy in his tone towards the handsome make-believe waiter.
"But I'll be away from you. And Bambi." Bubbles added, shifting her gaze to the living room, where the TV was blasting while no one watched. "I mean she's only a year old I'm allowed to feel a little separation anxiety right? Like I feel like I always miss her even when I'm in the same area as her."
"Angel, you're allowed to feel any way you want. And I get you. I guess you're right. I'd hate to be away from not only you but Lady adorable as well. But that's the point of the whole trip, isn't it? To get away from everything?"
The blue puff nodded, thinking to herself, "Well before I do that then, I think I need one more hug or else the sadness of being away from her will be too much to bear."
"I'm sure that must be some kind of motherly bond type thing, no?"
"Probably. I just hope she isn't too upset when I'm gone. I read online that babies have no concept of time so when they see that their mother or father isn't around they don't know if they are coming back. Do you think Bambi would believe that? That I wouldn't be coming back for her? Oh Boomie, I don't want her to believe that I would ever leave her." Boomer saw that her eyes were starting to tear up and hoped that she, like Bern, wouldn't cry when the time came for the girls to leave.
"Angel- Bubbles of course not-" He tried to wrap his arms around her before she jumped down from the counter, determination glinted in her eyes. Or maybe that was the tears, Boomer couldn't tell anymore.
"Where is she?"
"Uh-what?"
"Wheres's Bambi? I need to spend as much time as possible with her and make her understand that her mother isn't going to abandon her."
"Uh um I think she's in the playroom?" Boomer muttered, realizing it had been a while since he'd actually seen his child.
Bubbles' blue eyes abruptly flickered from determination to fear. "What do you mean you think she's in the playroom?"
"I mean the last time I checked on her, she was in there chewing on one of Brielle's toys."
"Oh Blossom, bless her heart, she tries but we have no idea where Brielle could've been with those things! Bambi! Honey! I'm coming for you! Your mothers coming baby!" She took off towards the steps, Boomer barely being able to follow as he dodged an angry 3-year-old.

Facts
The party is currently at 44,100 exp. each. Next level is at 48,000 (which will probably take 3 more big battles, 2 if Brennan is super generous with RP awards).
Abernant family had all their land and wealth reclaimed by The Court of Stars for their treachery and failure to prevent a war with Solace. Elianwyn committed treason and betrayal as well.
To save Adaine, the group decided to break up into 3 teams: Pylon 1 (Ragh, Tracker, Cathilda, and Sandra Lynn), Pylon 2 (Gorgug, Fabian, and Riz), and Recovery (Ayda, Fig, and Kristen). Team 1 and 2 would simultaneously take out the pylons. Then, the recovery team would go in (invisible and/or disguised) and gets Adaine and Aelwyn. They would all meet back at Van where they would most likely use Ayda's teleport to leave Fallinel (or regroup to plan their next move).

New Characters
Tell-ah-mine Low-men-el-da
Fabian's grandpapa
Tall elf with regal green robes, a silver circlet, long platinum white blond hair with a widows peak, and shimmering blue eyes
Crinkle in the corners of his eyes shows his age in sort of an Elrond way. He look of a dude in his late 40s/early 50s who took excellent care of his body and kept it tight
Moves with supernatural grace
Can turn into silver sand and float away
Has no concept of what time means
Obsessed with the fact that his grandson will die before him (Your human blood has brought mortality to this family. You will one day die.)
Offers to send word to an elf who is a fabled eye smith who lives on the high mountains at the heart of Fallinel that can craft a working eye (from songs, whispers, beams of moonlight, jeweled edges of the blue of the sea, and shimmering poems pulled from the ether itself) for Fabian, but has no clue how long it will take (a moment, a year, or a hundred years).
Can't pronounce words in common very well, especially words he's never heard before (which delights Fabian and pisses off Gorgug)
Calls Fabian Aramais Seacaster fa-bee-ahn ah-rye-ah-my-ess Seacaster (which might actually be the proper pronouncations of his name in that region as "Seacaster" was said correctly and that's how all the other elves say his name as well) and calls Hallariel ha-lair-ee-el
Weeps without moving his face, but also sometimes makes a soft eeehhhh sound when he cries (at one point he cried over a drop of water)
Gifted stewardship of Khy-low Meh-new-rah 3000 years ago after he crafted The Sword of the North Star (he was the smith of fung-dran-ghoor) for the ancient king of Fallinel Th-wrist-win Eversong.
"Without the Elven Oracle, we are lost."
Saw the Abernants as power hungry and cruel and can't understand why they would leave Fallinel. He found Anguin in particular to be a crass and small man with no nobility, only a thirst for power.
Thinks Riz has a harsh energy, is "a little dick", and calls him "a strange green mouse thing"
Got physically ill when a gun was explained to him, calling it gross and some dwarven kind of thing before vomiting which he turns into a flock of white crows
Vhan-lair-ee-el
Fabian's aunt
Tried to heal Fabian's pneumonia with elvan singing
Said "I have failed" when her singing doesn't work before she fades into starlight and vanishes
Hal-door-in and [unnamed youth]
Elven teens in white linen shorts arguing because [unnamed] believes Hal-door-in took his lute.
Calmed by a distant song which stopped their fight.
Faf-threth-riel
Lithe elven youth (around 17 or 18 years old) with a blond mop of hair covering one eye
Bakes elven whey bread
Lived a sheltered life
Ragh was the first half-orc he met
Mostly into Ragh due to Ragh being half orc, excessively talking about his green skin (like the boughs of a tree leafy, my leafy man), being big and beefy (your legs are like the mighty trunks of trees), was really into rage (like when Ragh punched a seat cushion) to the point of it making Ragh uncomfortable
Sang in bed
Treth-thren-ren
Elven youth who does morning dance yoga
Tried to get Fabian to eat a grape
Oak Warriors
Elemental plant based automaton soldiers made of pure magic
Look like 8 foot tall green men with leaves coming from their faces

Changes to Established Characters
Aelwyn
Matted long blond hair
Dry skin, chapped colorless lips, and thick bags under her eyes
Severely dehydrated and trance deprived (probably hasn't been allowed to trance for nearly a year)
5 points of exhaustion. Only magic is keeping her from going to the 6th level and dying.
Her "room" is a large large beautiful elven chamber with silver and marble. Ambiant light glows from the white stone.
Trapped inside a 15 foot diameter orb that's constantly turning so she can't trance
Crawling on hands and knees while trapped, shaking with the effort
Doesn't give Adaine up to Kear
Can still remember how to cast the message cantrip
Feels strange and addled (unable to think clearly; confused), can't remember what's real or imagined anymore, doesn't clearly remember what happened in her past (including what she did to get imprisoned), and forgets what she and Adaine have already talked about (causing a lot of reputation).
Thinks her parents "tried their best they could" and that "they expected quite a lot of us, but isn't that what- doesn't that... didn't that make us great?" (possibly due to something her father said or did since her imprisonment as it echoes a few things he's said)
Gilear
Looks scruffy (from not shaving), dirty, and has pit stains
Somehow didn't mess up being diplomatic with Fabian's grandpapa
Unbuttons the top button on his shirt when he "lets loose"
To Fig about Sandra Lynn and Garthy: Are you aware of such... hanky panky?
Learning of Sandra Lynn's infidelity with Garthy "Honestly? Perhaps this is... fucked up. It makes me feel... like there wasn't something uniquely wrong with me. Maybe a tiny little w for Gilear."
Spent the night walking through the forest with Hallariel's father, reciting poetry (badly)
To Fabian after Hallariel's father threw up "You're low and he's low. It's Gilear's day baby! It's Gilear's day."
Tried to ask Hallariel's father for her hand, but even though Fig gave him bardic inspiration and Riz helped by covering Fabian's mouth, he failed... so much. ("Lord Tell-ah-mine of Khy-low Meh-new-rah I like you am-" *makes himself throw up* "We get it. We both get it. We... We're the throw up boys." *passes out*)
Ayda
Hid in the van the entire visit
Might have rejection sensitive dysphoria (which is common in those with autism or ADHD)
Did a sending spell to Zelda for Gorgug for 150 gold (after reminding him that she very much does not like anyone in her debt or visa versa)
Offered to exact vengeance on Zelda for Gorgug
Is powerful enough to know teleport and learn plane shift (so level 13 or higher)
Stated that Adaine is her best friend and decides that since Fig is also Adaine's best friend, by the transitive property she is best friends with Fig as well (and Fig agreed). Learning this, she says "Fantastic. I grow richer by the day. I'm emotional." before starting to cry fire "I'm emotional. I'm gonna fly away." She then flew away, returning after she had calmed down.
Ragh
Ate grapes and started burping musical notes after he left Khy-low Meh-new-rah.
Lost his virginity to Faf-threth-riel who then got creepy and kinda racist, making Ragh very uncomfortable (and want to get out of there asap)
Fabian
Lost both points of exhaustion thanks to the 8000 thread count elven sheets (did they get to keep the sheets or at least one sheet for help with exhaustion?)
Felt really good when he tried out dance yoga, even wondering if he should be some kind of yoga dancer instead of a fighter (how about a whirling dervish dancer like Cathilda?)
The grapes he put in his pocket (after refusing to eat them) turned into song
Indifferent towards saving Aelwyn and doesn't want to be on the retrieval team
When he started feeling anxious about the Aelwyn stuff, Riz told him to lose himself in dancing again to feel free (Riz: You are the only one that I wanna see dancing right now.) It made him feel much better.

Other Characters
Adaine
Taken by Court of Stars
Her jacket and spellbook were taken
Trapped in an orb which is soft and doesn't hurt her, but the constant movement of its slow turning doesn't allow her to be still or trance
The walls of her room glow with runes and there are many perminant magical effects, making her captors capable of some crazy things (like prepared directional counter spells), but the setup wouldn't counter cantrips
Escaped the orb with dispel magic (dc 15) which makes a couple counter spells go off and an alarm sound
Hid in Aelwyn's room. The sister's spoke before she was recaptured and placed back in her orb. Adaine told Aelwyn that she was going to get her out
Discovered that her room was close enough to Aelwyn to talk to her via the message cantrip
Repeatedly cast Ray of Frost to turn her orb into a slip and slide to stay entertained
Instead of speaking to her father in elvish, she responded in common. Also cast Tasha's Hideous Laughter on him.
Anguin and Kear said she would be executed for treason for staying in Solace and refusing to cooperate. She demanded a lawyer and then the Ambassador to Solace, citing her age and being a student at Augefort Adventuring Academy which summoned a recorded hologram of Arthur Augefort.
Arthur Augefort
Has a recorded hologram that is activated when a student claims the need of his diplomatic help in foreign affairs.
It threatens the listeners with graphic and terrifying violence and doom, giving them the options of either rectify the actions that summoned him (Yes) or refuse and welcome the aforementioned punishment for their actions (No).
Gorgug
Fabian's grandfather called him Jhor-judge
Finally got a message to Zelda via Ayda using her sending spell (Zelda. Safe in Fallinel. Gonna finish cell tower soon. Sorry about everything, but hope your break is going well in spite of this. Miss you.) and got a reply the next morning a little while after waking up (Sorry. Was at a party. You don't have to build a cell tower. That's crazy. It's all whatever Gorgug. I don't blame you.)
Didn't sleep well, but still got the benefit of a full night's sleep due to elven sheets.
Kristen
Got in a fight with Tracker and then got 3 nat 1s on persuasion checks when she tried to make up with her.
Slept in Adaine's room
Doesn't know how to make a cell tower
Took one of the 40 to 50 foot long diaphanous silk scarves with her
Gave (inspiring?) speech ending with "Friendship is thinker than water and we need water to live." which gave everyone 11 temp hit points
Accidentally called Pok a "smiling elf" and then blew it off as being due to her being human
Can now see Shadow Cat in the picture (along with Tracker, Sandra Lynn, Garthy, Riz, and Sklonda and possibly the dead cambian, Pok, Jace, and Adaine's mom) and reacted by saying "Was I spooning the cat all night in the milk!?"
Sandra Lynn
Dropped out senior year and got her diploma after the fact to join an adventuring party
Joined as a replacement member for an existing adventuring party that was already active in the world and included an older much more powerful married couple.
Fresh out of high school, fell in love with one person from the couple (nonbinary or gender intentionally hidden) who "did not treat her very kindly"
When it all came out, she was ejected from the adventuring party, her romantic partner took great pains to smear her name (so no one would accept her), no other party would take her as a replacement, and she was forced to become a Celesian Ranger
Gilear knows who the couple were, but doesn't want to tell Fig (could she know the people involved?)
Key-heir/Khear
Child-like elven maiden with long brown braided hair, a white gown, and a large staff.
When confronted by Arthur Augefort's hologram, she chose to not heed his warnings.

NOTES: Hey everybody. I'm truly sorry if any of you were worried about me being "gotten" by the Coronavirus; I swear I'm fine, and as far as I know so are the other members. Mostly I've just been doing my job (it's healthcare related so exempt from lockdowns), trying to wear masks and handwash and sanitize, social distancing and all that. Hope you're all doing the same. We can beat this scary ass virus if we all work together. And I promise I'll try to post more often. I just have had some pretty bad writer's block and lack of motivation with editing. See you soon!
=Chapter 15
A few minutes later, the fully-clothed couple emerged from the back room to thunderous applause. Weiss had been sad to have to put clothes back onto such a firm, alluring body, but there were certain standards of decency that must be observed.
Emerald, Coco, and Velvet were the most ecstatic, pumping their hands and pounding them on the back, laughing and making crude jokes that Weiss pretended to find offensive. They were offensive, but she was too thrilled with the day’s developments to truly care. She and Yang weren’t just dancing awkwardly around each other - they had been intimate. This changed everything!
Cinder, for her part, had prepared something a bit more formal.
“Congratulations,” she said as she nodded to Velvet, who turned back to the corner. “You have passed your test with flying colours.”
“You didn’t really have to go back there, though,” Emerald confessed with a small smirk. “It was more about how you reacted to the test than actually going through with it. If you just yelled at us that we were crazy and you weren’t going to ‘perform’ just for us and we should all sit on it, we would have respected that, too.”
“Like I said,” Yang sighed with her arms behind her head, lazy grin never wavering, “it was too late once you accepted. I was trying to help give you a way out.”
“Doesn’t sound like you’re complaining,” Weiss grunted. Unbelievably cheesed off at Cinder for her machinations but grudgingly alright with the result.
“Of course not. I mean, hey, I got your sweet lips going down on mine. What’s to complain about?”
As the others laughed and Weiss tried not to feel any more self-conscious than she already did, Cinder cleared her throat. “Anyway. First you showed us you’re made of tougher stuff than the average paper shaker by taking the brand from Salem, and now that you’re not afraid to show a woman a good time. Two tests which mean you are a Dragon. Therefore…”
Coco began a drumroll on the table as Velvet came back from where she had been rummaging around in a bag. In her hands was a pristine, brand new, black leather jacket with yellow stripes up the sleeves. One of a fairly petite size. Even while Weiss was admiring the look of the garment, Velvet pushed it into her hands, eyes alight with excitement that the entire table seemed to be sharing.
“Wait… is this mine?” When she nodded, Weiss grinned and turned it this way and that, looking at the brilliantly-coloured dragon on the back. “Jeepers!”
With a little snort, Yang murmured, “Like Dragons say ‘jeepers’. We’ll have to teach you the lingo, how to bash ears with the best of us.”
“Wait, wait,” Coco said with a slight smile. “Hand that to Yang.” Weiss did, though she wasn’t sure what they were doing. “Now Yang, put it on her.” They both obeyed. It was nice having someone slide the cool leather over her arms for her, and she pulled it tight in the front, smiling at the scent of new leather and the warmth the insulation provided. “Good. Schnee, you’ve just been jacketed.”
“Yes, obviously.” After a moment, the other meaning caught up to her, and she turned to look up at Yang. “Oh… jacketed.”
Yang looked puzzled for an instant, as well, but then she rolled her eyes and looked back at Coco. “You mean like varsity boys ‘claim’ their girls by giving them their letterman jackets? I didn’t mean it like that. Besides, since we’re both girls, shouldn’t that mean we have to trade leather?”
“Mine probably wouldn’t fit you,” Weiss tittered. “You’re so strong and broad-shouldered.”
“And you love it,” she rumbled with a lopsided grin. Weiss felt very self-conscious about leaning up to kiss her cheek, but not enough to stop herself doing so.
“Goodness gracious, great balls of fire!” Emerald half-sang, and the others laughed.
Talk devolved from there. Now that she was truly a Dragon, the others were a lot less wary around the Schnee heiress. Ironically, they were a lot less lewd now; half their reason for bawdy banter seemed to have been seeing whether or not it would drive their white-bread intruder away. Now, the topics mostly hovered around girls they found cute in class, more emotional wavelengths of relationships, popular music on Billboard’s Top 100. The typical things Weiss expected girls her age to care about - other than the target gender for their romantic interests. It was both freeing and bizarre to hear so much open conversation about lesbianism, which she had scarcely thought about more than once in her entire life before Yang came along.
And then there was Yang. Being in Shopkeeper’s with a warm hand grasping her own was the most contented she had ever felt in her life. And though their brief kisses made the others giggle, and once in awhile they would make an exaggerated gagging noise, it was worth it. Yang was worth everything.
Eventually, however, she noticed someone was missing. “Hey… where did Blake go?”
“Dunno,” said Emerald while Coco was still laughing from some silly pun Yang had cracked. “Said she didn’t feel well. Did she cut out?”
“Beats me,” Cinder sighed with a swig of her beer.
Weiss fell silent for a few seconds. She could tell Yang was paying more attention to her, even though the conversation continued. After a minute, when she stood up, Yang asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Just going to check. I’ll be back, I promise.”
A quick survey of the ‘employee parking’ that now served as Dragons motorcycle storage told Weiss that all the same bikes were there as had been when she arrived; after missing her at the depot while they weren’t speaking, she had begun making it standard practice to check for Yang’s hog. That was both good and bad; if Blake was still there, where did she go? Shaking her head, she went back in through the kitchen entrance.
“Mrs. Belladonna?”
“Kali, please,” the woman insisted with an easy laugh. “You don’t have to be so formal - especially considering we now have equal standing. Looks good on you, sweetie.”
The unexpected praise made Weiss smile and nervously finger the collar of her jacket. “Th-thanks. Um… have you seen Blake? I lost track of her and she’s been gone for a while.”
“Hmm. No I haven’t, I’m sorry. But my daughter can take care of herself, so you shouldn't worry.”
“Oh. Alright, thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” she replied with a slight curtsy, still poking fun at how formally Weiss was behaving around her. The princess rolled her eyes before nipping back into the main area.
Where could she have gone? Weiss checked all the other tables, the few ladies sat at the bar, and she saw no sign of the long, luxurious raven locks. On a whim, she went back into the back room before Salem could return, just in case. Still no Blake. She finally gave up and took a break to powder her nose.
That was where she found the missing Belladonna. She was poised over the sink, hands gripping the porcelain as she stared deep into the mirror. A single glance was enough to tell Weiss that her eyes were bloodshot - and a lucky thing, too, because Blake looked away the instant their gaze connected through the reflection. Otherwise she would have missed that little clue.
“What?” she demanded.
“You've been gone for a while, that's all. I was worried.”
“So? That isn't my concern. I have no control over whether you do or don't feel worried.” After a brief silence, Blake sighed. “Sorry. I'm… forget it. I'll be fine.”
Taking a tentative step forward, Weiss laid a hand on Blake's arm. “Will you?”
“Yes. If you leave me alone, yes.”
“Me?” She had to work hard to keep from overreacting emotionally to such a small phrase. “Did I do something wrong?”
“No.”
“Can… you talk to me about it?”
“Really rather not. And it's not a big deal, anyway. Just ancient history.”
By this point, it didn't seem like a particularly far-fetched guess. “Is it Yang?” No answer. “Is it more about something she did, or… something she didn't do?”
“Look, Schnee,” she began with a long sigh, finally turning to regard Weiss directly as she ran her fingertips through her bangs. “I'm pleased as punch that you passed your test, and you're one of us now. And I do mean that. I was as suspicious of you as the rest of us, but getting to know you these past weeks… you're actually pretty cool. But that doesn't make us best friends who have to share every bit of gossip. This is something I don’t want to talk about right now, at all. So please, don't think that just because I don't want to talk to you about this that it means we're not friends anymore, okay?”
“Just not best friends,” she repeated, earning her a little nod. “Okay. So if I were to, say, guess the reason you're in here, crying by yourself, would that mean we are closer friends now?”
Blake let out a harsh little laugh. “Sure. You think you're so smart. We both get about the same grades, do you know that?”
“Yes, I had noticed. Very uncommon for a Dragon. I suppose that makes us both uncommon, doesn't it?” Blake didn't bother to answer. Weiss turned and hopped up on the other sink, legs dangling and kicking back and forth slowly. “That's probably what makes it so frustrating.”
“What?”
“Yang… never noticing how you feel.” When Blake moved to bolt from the bathroom, Weiss flashed her leg up to stop her. “Wait!”
“Get out of my way, Schnee.” When the leg didn't lower again, Blake turned her amber eyes on her with mounting fury. “I'll break this thing to get out of here, I swear it.”
“I'm sorry. I should have noticed, I… you were always there, always supporting Yang. Supporting both of us. Why? Why would you want us to succeed if it meant… if you wanted her all to yourself?”
Blake merely stood there, taking quick, shallow breaths for a few seconds. Suppressing any more obvious outward display of her emotions. “You really are smarter. Too smart for your own good.”
“Don't be silly. If I were smart, I would have figured this out way before seeing your face after watching us-” She thought better of what she was about to say. “After watching the initiation. That must have been very hard for-”
“Princess, I'm warning you…”
Heaving a loud sigh, Weiss finally did lower her leg. “Fine. I was just trying to help.”
“You want to help? Go away. Or… or go try to pick up Cinder, or Emerald. Hell, take Ilia - she's been buzzing around me for weeks, and I can't stand it anymore. Or just…” Her hands reached up and fisted in her hair as she let out a noise of pure frustration. “No. Forget I said anything. I want you to be happy.”
“Blake…”
“I do, and I mean that. This is just… me being stupid.”
“You're not stupid!” she burst out, hopping down from the counter and approaching. The way Blake flinched kept her from touching her arm again. “You're incredible! A-and I'm sure Yang would tell you that it has nothing to do with you not being good enough, or stupid or- or anything like that!”
After a second or two of silence, Blake eased the door open just enough to look out over the restaurant. They both stood there for a long moment and simply watched their friends laughing and talking. By now, Ilia had joined them, and even though she seemed mostly quiet she also looked thrilled to death to be part of their inner circle.
“Always thought we were a natural fit,” she finally whispered, seemingly more to herself than to Weiss. Eyes only for the blonde guffawing and slapping her knee. “Both of us 'legacies’. Her mom and my mom go way back in this organization. Not that Raven wants anything to do with us anymore, but that never stopped Yang and I from being friends. And she's so strong, and funny, and… and I have no idea why I thought I deserved her. Probably more wishful thinking than realistic.”
By now, she had let the door fall shut again. To her credit, her eyes watered but her cheeks remained dry; the tears never spilled.
“I'm so sorry,” Weiss whispered, voice as fragile as spun glass.
“For what? Being too perfect? Being exactly what Yang needed?” Blake scoffed and kicked at the tile floor. “No, no. I'm just a pathetic idiot who could never work up the courage to just tell her what I wanted. Or… I did, and we had some fun, but… I tried to play it cool and missed my chance.”
Weiss found herself staring up at this heartbroken woman, her own heart following suit. “My God. You're really in love with her.”
“So?” This time, when she turned back to Weiss, her features were fierce, determined. “The better woman won. And I expect you to treat her right. You already do so much better at showing her how you feel than I ever could have, anyway. And you are pretty, and incredible, and all those things. Maybe I'm a little jealous, but I don't want you to think… well, alright, I do resent you a tiny bit. But I promise it's nothing. I'm a big girl and I know you're a really swell gal, Weiss. This is about what's best for you two, not my sour grapes.”
Weiss no longer knew what to say. So after nearly a minute of trying to come up with something, anything, she simply threw her arms around Blake and squeezed her tightly.
“Oh, enough! Can't you just let me be upset?! This isn't something you can fix with-”
“I'm sorry!” Weiss sniffled, trying to squeeze even tighter even though her arms weren't capable of it. “Blake!”
After a few seconds of trying to squirm away, Blake sighed and begin to pet over her hair. “So sensitive…”
They remained like that for a minute or two, and eventually, Blake joined her in crying. Minutes slipped by as they both tried to vent all their strong emotions in one go. Then she had enough of the pity party and began pushing Weiss an arm's length away.
“Hey.” When the princess didn't look up right away, she cupped her cheeks with both hands, wiping the tear tracks away with her thumbs. “I'm going to be fine. It's just… fresh. Seeing her like that churned up all those feelings again, when I should be over this by now. Sorry for dumping all this on you when this should be your big day. It's… I feel like a jerk.”
“B-but you… you're so sweet, and tough, and amazing, and you deserve someone just as amazing as you are! It's not fair!”
“So give up Yang.” When Weiss's eyes widened, stunned, Blake laughed a little. “I'm kidding. But you do see my point, don't you? If we did that, then it wouldn't be fair to you. So the most fair thing is for Yang to be with the one she wants to be with.”
Weiss nodded emphatically, still sniffling. “Y-yeah. Of course I want her to be happy the most. But that doesn't mean I don't care about your happiness! You're my friend, too!”
This seem to catch the taller dragon off her guard, and she had to blink a few times to truly process the words. Then a slow, shy smile spread across her face. “Really? I thought you mostly thought of me as a Dragons tour guide. Helping keep you from drowning.”
“Are you kidding? Of course you are! But that's… not all it is, right?”
“No,” she admitted with a slight chuckle. “I'm sorry; you're right, we're friends. I'm just… irritable right now.”
Weiss hugged her tightly again. “You should have made Velvet watch instead. If I'd known it would be hard for you…”
“I know,” she whispered into her hair, rubbing up and down her back. “It's okay. I'm… okay. Or I will be. But thank you for…” A helpless little shrug accompanied her next words. “How could I be miffed when you're so wonderful for her? Yang is happy, and you're happy, and I'm happy for you.”
“Really? You're not just saying that?”
“Cross my heart.” After a few more seconds, Blake sighed. “And it could be worse.”
With a semi-contented little hum, Weiss hugged her again. “How so?”
“You could have ended up as my mother-in-law. I mean, as much as my mom seems to have taken a shine to you?”
“Oh, stop! She's just teasing me, like all of you do constantly! I mean, you've both offered to ‘make me see stars’ and you weren't serious about that, either, right?”
Blake smirked slightly.
“Right?”
“Schnee, it's only sex. I'd even try with Ilia if I was bored enough. Most of us feel that way.” Seeing Weiss’s expression made her hastily add, “But if you and Yang want to go steady, that's great! I wish you all the best!”
A vague “uh-huh” floated out of Weiss as she swayed on the spot. It was bad enough when she thought she was being teased incessantly about something she thought was not a laughing matter. But if they were all serious… then there were not just one or two, but three women confessing earnest desires to be intimate with her - and the other Dragons had all expressed similar sentiments before. Maybe she had accepted that the average person thought she was “pretty”, but this was a whole other level that Weiss was not prepared for, and she found it both humbling and consternating.
“Aww,” Blake cooed while leading her back to the table. “New lesbians are so cute.”
-----------------------------------------------------------
Yang did apologize for snapping at their “witness” as soon as they returned to the table. Blake accepted the apology, even if her tone was a little frostier than Weiss would have hoped. It was unfortunate, but she understood; the Italian Dragon had been doing them a favour and Yang essentially thanked her by accusing her of being a Peeping Tom. That wasn’t easy to wave aside.
Not too long afterward, Kali brought out some celebratory burgers and a basket of french fries so huge that Weiss thought they would never finish them all off. Pools of ketchup started to decorate the table, and she could see Vernal rolling her eyes in disgust even from across the room.
Sadly, by the time she finished her food, it was time to leave. Pyrrha did come in to pick Weiss up, so at least she hadn’t found the last experience so harrowing that it scared her off forevermore. Her first glimpse of Weiss in the jacket had startled her, but afterward she was praising it and telling her that it flattered her frame. As purely sweet as Pyrrha was most of the time, that came as little surprise.
“Doesn’t she just look neato keen?” Emerald said, tone very slightly mocking as she laughed. “Maybe you could get one of those for yourself.”
“Me?!” she gasped with a hand pressed to her heart. “Oh, no, I couldn’t! My mother would have kittens!”
Laughing at her outrage, Cinder wrapped her arms tightly around the taller redhead’s waist. Somehow, she had convinced her to sit on her thigh the way Weiss was on Yang’s, and had on Blake’s before. That it had nothing to do with a healing burn in Pyrrha’s case seemed irrelevant to the brunette. “Maybe I could convince you.”
“I doubt that very much. But th-thank you for your interest!”
“Am I a Jehovah’s Witness? Thanking me and promising to read the Watchtower before you send me on my merry way?” But Cinder’s tone wasn’t as caustic as it could be; she was still pleased with her success in manipulating three of her fellow Dragons that day. Weiss was beginning to suspect that her passing interest in her friend wasn’t quite so passing as she would probably have everyone believe.
“N-no, you’re not,” Pyrrha sighed nervously.
Thinking she’d had enough teasing, Weiss said, “Maybe Pyrrha could come over here and sit on Yang’s other thigh. Keep me company.”
“Oh, that would be far too heavy! I… well, my muscle mass is dense from training; I weigh more than I look like I would.”
“I could handle it,” Yang laughed. “But you don’t have to if you’re comfortable there.”
“She’s comfortable.” Cinder’s hands began to smooth up and down Pyrrha’s stomach, and a blush began to creep into the tall woman’s cheeks. Weiss could tell it was pure shock with only a hint of shame; she simply had no response for this situation. “And so am I. Her firm rump is pretty warm, and it’s a little chilly in here.”
Even while Pyrrha was gulping, Blake reached over to swat her shoulder. “Do you always have to push so much? She’s practically flipping.”
“Maybe you wouldn’t be so chilly if you quit wearing those short little dresses,” Weiss remarked, which got the others laughing and pounding the table. Cinder, for part, merely sent a poisonous smile in her direction.
“Apparently, they’ve caught your attention, Schnee.”
If she was going to be one of the Dragons, she needed to learn how to play this game of theirs - the ‘Intolerable Flirt’ game. “But they haven’t caught me. Does that mean they need to be shorter, or what fills them to be better?”
The others all went “OOOOH” and whistled before bursting into laughter. Emerald was the only one who looked a little nervous about that, glancing anxiously at Cinder’s scowl.
“Alright, alright,” Yang chortled. “Both of you ease off your trigger fingers. This is a party!”
“Very well,” Cinder sighed, redoubling her grip on the resigned Pyrrha. “And I do already have my party favour.”
“I will get her out of there if I need a crowbar,” Weiss warned her playfully. “Unless she’s really fine with you pawing all over her like that.”
Waving a hand, Pyrrha smiled bashfully. “No, no, it’s fine! She hasn’t hurt me, o-or made me that uncomfortable.”
“But you are uncomfortable?” When she received no answer, Cinder impatiently pushed her off her lap. “Fine. Never mind then.”
“I… I’m sorry,” she said immediately. “Really, it wasn’t-”
“Forget it. I just thought we were having harmless fun, but there you are, waiting for it to be over, and I’m…” She picked up her bottle and let out a grunt of frustration when she discovered it was empty. “Be right back.”
Once she had stormed over to the bar, Pyrrha glanced at the empty seat. Yang quickly pulled her onto her own leg, and though she let out a squeak of surprise, it was followed by a quiet sigh. “Thank you,” she whispered.
“It’s okay. Sometimes Cindy comes on a little strong.”
“She knows I go with boys, doesn’t she? O-or at least, I want to, even if I haven’t yet. But to hear her talk, I’m already one of you and simply, um… pretending, or something.”
Coco shrugged, leaning forward on her elbows. “It’s not your fault she thinks you’re a Dolly, all for her to play with.” The double entendre made Emerald snicker. “But I agree with her that you’re very attractive. Just… ignore her advances for long enough and she’ll get the idea. You don’t owe her anything more than that.”
“And you don’t have to sit on my lap, either,” Yang told her quietly. “But the table’s pretty full, and there aren’t any more chairs.”
Pyrrha wiggled back and forth a little, still looking flushed but less nervous compared to before. “You make a comfortable chair. And I’m sitting with my best friend! This is fine with me.”
“Awwwww, best friend,” Yang cooed at Weiss, who rolled her eyes and folded her arms over her chest. “So cuuuuute!”
“Do you have room for one more?” Blake asked, waggling her eyebrows. It was a little gross, but at least it showed she was over her brief spell of heartsickness. Weiss counted that as a win.
“Sure, Belladonna. Pile on.”
All Weiss had time to do was yelp “What?!” before Blake was flopping across hers and Pyrrha’s laps. By hanging onto each other with one arm apiece, they were able to keep from falling to either side, but Blake had to wrap herself a little harder forward and nearly slipped onto the table. An errant kick resulted in Coco complaining about ketchup getting on her jacket, though everyone was laughing so hard that her complaint was barely audible.
“Oh, fine!” Cinder blustered when she returned. “So it’s just my lap!” Everyone laughed so hard she couldn’t even stay upset, instead grunting something and turning away to hide her own bemused smile.
-----------------------------------------------------------
“You really do have some interesting friends,” Pyrrha remarked as they drove back home.
“Yes. And one who couldn’t keep her meathooks off your body.”
Dipping her head, though not so much she couldn’t see the road ahead of them, she thought about her response for a moment as “Sweet Little Sixteen” played on the radio quietly. “The attention is nice. Though I don’t feel the same way about Cinder as she seems to feel about me.”
“Hmm.” As they rolled up to a stop sign, she glanced over and said, “You’re handling this remarkably well.”
“What do you mean? Her being a woman?” When Weiss nodded, she shrugged. “Well, I suppose it’s still strange to me. But you and Yang seem happy.”
“And do you think you could be happy with a girl?”
“Golly, no! I just don’t have any interest in them that way!”
Leaning against the door, Weiss stared out the window as the trees flashed past. One or two leaves were beginning to turn here and there. “I used to think that, too. But then again, you’ve actually got one coming after you and still feel the same way. Maybe…”
“Maybe?”
“Maybe I always liked women and just didn’t know it. Does that sound kooky or what?”
Her friend thought about that for a little longer, as well. “I don’t think it’s that kooky. After all, we’ve always only seen husbands and wives together; boys going with girls. Why should we have ever thought about it at all before these Dragons started whistling at you?”
“True,” she sighed wearily. “I’m just sorry if… well, if it’s harder being my friend now.”
They had been at the next stop sign for a few minutes before Weiss realised they could have driven away a long time ago. When she looked over, she saw Pyrrha looked completely stricken, frown lines worrying her noble forehead.
“What is it?”
“I’ll always be your friend!” she told her urgently. “This is… I know it might be a sin, and certainly unusual, but I know you’re still a wonderful person! Why should I let that change anything?”
“Oh,” she half-laughed in relief. “Okay, you’re right. I didn’t mean to upset you; of course I have confidence in our friendship.”
“Good,” she said with a slight smile, reaching over to squeeze her hand briefly. Then she took the wheel again and steered them toward home. “Of course, it is a little worrying that their ‘club’ is in an abandoned building. But it looks like they’re taking good care of it.”
Snickering, Weiss leaned against the door to gaze out the window again. “Only you could have a friend tell you she’s started making whoopee with a woman, become part of a gang, and the only thing you care about is the municipal building code.”
“Well, safety is important!” Further giggling became contagious this time, and they both laughed the rest of the way home.

Prologue | Chapter 1 | Chapter 2
Tumblr media
With his hair still dripping wet and a towel around his waist, Johnny emerged from his bathroom as he hurriedly searched for his phone, which rang with 10-minute intervals, in his chaotic mess of a room.
“Fucking hell! Where is that goddamn phone?” he said as he scrambled through his dark bed sheets, fresh from the sins of the night before.
Behind him, a young woman clothed only in his university shirt held the sleek device in her hand, “Looking for this?”
“Thanks,” Johnny said as he was putting his dark jeans on. He then took the phone from her, and placed it right in his back pocket. “Listen, Belle. I was thinki—“
“It’s Mel,” she corrected him.
“Sorry, Mel. So listen, I gotta go get to class. It’s my first day back and I’m obviously about to be late,” he picked up his notebooks on the bedside table and stuffed them into his backpack.
Hugging him from the back, Mel replied with a seductive grin, “No worries, babe, it’s all good. Maybe I can get to see you after then?”
For Johnny, it has” been a routine to sleep with girls that he had no plans of committing to. After all, that’s all he really needed—a quick fuck. His soft, dark hair and light brown eyes were only a bonus to his charming and alluring personality. On top of all that, he was intellectual and had a say on everything ranging from politics to philosophy to music. It’s no wonder the girls would swoon over him. Even if they knew him for his reputation, they were all romanced by the idea that they could change him for the better.
But deep down, Johnny knew he would never change.
He knew that he would never settle down, not until she came back.
He knew that he wouldn’t come home to anyone, not unless she came home.
Not even to him, just home. Johnny just wanted her home. Johnny just wanted to know that she was okay and that she was still her. But ever since she left him without warning two years ago, things were never the same for Johnny.
Johnny turned around to face Mel, “Uh, I can’t really do later.”
“Maybe tomorrow?”
He removed her hands, which were now around his neck and answered, “Well… maybe not ever. I’m sorry. I’m just… it’s school again and—“
Before he could even finish talking, Mel removed his shirt that she was wearing and threw it right into Johnny’s chest. She quickly changed into the dress she had worn from yesterday and headed straight to the door
“Mel, I’m sorry. You know, I just don’t think I can handle a relationship while—”
Right as she was about to leave, she turned back to Johnny, “You know what, forget it. They were all right when they said I couldn’t trust you. I thought I could change you but you’re just as sick as they say!” She slammed the door.
Johnny stood in his apartment unbothered. It wasn’t unusual for him to hear that very same dialogue as he had done so a lot of times before. Letting out a big sigh of relief that she had finally left, he picked up the t-shirt on the floor, got his bag and walked towards the door.
Riiing riiing riiing!
“I thought I turned this damn thing off,” Johnny whispered to himself. Annoyed by the nth alarm that went off that morning, he reached for his phone from his pocket to turn it off. But as soon as he saw the notification that lit up his screen, his irritation from the moment before had instantly turned into a mood of melancholy.
4th year Anniversary with Jung Chihye today
Tumblr media
To anyone who has been a victim of timing, whether it was good or bad, one would definitely understand how significant the precision of fleeting seconds are and how they can change everything.  On the morning of Johnny’s first day back in college, the hands of the clock worked in his favor. Two minutes before the bell rang, Johnny was able to find his way into his seat beside his good friend, Doyoung.
“God, Johnny. I don’t know how you’re able to fuck around and still do well in school,” Doyoung said to Johnny as he rolled his eyes.
“Is there anything I can’t do?” Johnny jokingly replied.
“Keep a girl and actually want her?”
“Ha ha. You are very funny Mr. President. So is there anyone we know in class today?”
Johnny scanned the room and looked around before he suddenly froze. At the far end, across the rows of tables, he saw one particular face—one that was all too familiar for him—his ex girl friend Chihye.
He must’ve lost all the blood in his face when he saw her. She was there, she was actually standing just feet away from him. He wanted to run to her, he wanted to call her name, but he couldn’t. Mouth opened and completely disoriented, Johnny sat in his chair staring at her until she hurriedly ran out the room.
Johnny snapped back to reality when Doyoung waved his hand right in front of his face, “Uhh hello? Johnny? I was talking to you? I won’t be here to conduct interviews for our org applicants next month so you’re going to have to take over.”
“Ah, uh, right. Yeah. Wait, hold on. I think I just—“
“Did you see the ‘Ghost of Christmas Past’ or something? You just blanked out, Johnny,”
“No, it was not a ghost nor was it Christmas. But definitely my past,” he replied. “Oh, so it’s some girl you bailed on before. You’re lucky she didn’t come to punch your guts,” Doyoung said mocking Johnny, “Why don’t you go follow her? She probably didn’t see you. If she does, then she’ll want to punch you for sure.”
“You know what, I will. Tell the professor I had a bad stomach ache or something, will you?”
Faster than lightning, Johnny came back to his senses and followed Chihye out. However, he didn’t expect to see the volume of the crowd that filled the wide corridors. He frantically searched from left to right, but to no avail. Desperate to find his ex girl friend for answers, he ran as fast as he could across the multitude of students only to bump into another familiar face.
“Johnny?”
“Jung Jaehyun,” he said answered as he pulled him into a hug.
Jaehyun was just as stunned to see him, “Johnny, I can’t believe it. You’re studying here, too? Out of all the people, I didn’t expect to run into you.”
“Jaehyun, you’re here. Where have you guys been? I mean, how’s your family? Your mom, your dad, your grandparents, your—“
“My twin sister?”
“Your sister… is she with you?”
“She is, Johnny. Look, why don’t you guys stop by the house tonight. Bring Mark and Ahra, too, if you still keep in touch with them. We’ll explain everything about, you know, why we left…”
“Alright, Jaehyun. I’d like that. I’ll see you then,”
“She’ll be there. I promise,” replied Jaehyun.
That morning, Johnny felt like time was working well for him—like he had full control of it. But if only he truly could, he would press the fast forward button to that night, to the minute he was going to be with her again.

Masaki Sako's Entrance Exam
@taiyuu-high-oct
Trumpets blared out from the phone.
Masaki woke up, and leaned off his be to reach for his phone to turn off all five of his alarms. He blinked blearily and squinted to try and identify the time.
Maybe it’s 10:00? God, I really need to stop being so lazy and fix the settings on my phone.
After squinting at it for a few more minutes, he shrugged, and hopped out of bed. Getting the clothes he laid out the night before, he quickly got dressed, and made a mental note to do some laundry once he got home. And buy some groceries maybe, they needed some more. After all, Masaki’s parents were going to be gone all day. He put some bread in the toaster, and ran off to finish getting ready for the day.
Brushing his teeth and his hair, he idly scrolled through tumblr,  and resolutely ignored his contacts case which stared at him accusingly.
Ooh look, new posts about quirked animals! Can’t believe Nezu’s not on that list. Kinda weird, but okay. I think it’s time to go soon, let’s hurry back upstairs!
Masaki jumped as trumpets blared again from his phone, one more alarm set for the express purpose of making sure he wasn’t late.
Well shit.
And now he really needed to boogie. Grabbing his shoes, his prepacked backpack, an his piece of toast, he dashed out the door to reach the last train before it left for the docks.
“Aw shit!” He dashed back inside to retrieve his bag of jewelry, and then finally left, sprinting for all he’s worth towards the train station.
“Good luck on our exam!” yelled his neighbor as he rushed by.
“Thanks!” he yelled back.
Still sprinting he hears a chorus of mutters from besides him and sees a blue haired girl, making large leaps to go at a fast pace.
"Oh no I'm going to be late and miss the last train, if I don't make it I'm not going to get in….."
Having noticed Masaki, she looked up.
"Oh hello! Based on what you're doing, I bet you're running late for the train too, huh?"
Masaki nodded in response, too busy running to respond properly.
She giggled, and he smiled at her.
They got to the train station, and somehow, when Masaki turned to make sure he was getting on the right train, he lost her.
That's a shame. It's kinda sad to ride the train by yourself.
Masaki got off the train, and ran to the docks, hoping that the transportation was not what he thought it would be.
He looked up at a gargantuan boat, with TH printed on it in bright letters.
Of course it's a boat, the school's on an island, dumbass. Ok, so maybe it won't be that long.
"Hey applicants! Be prepared for a 30 min boat trip!"
Yeah, no. It wasn't going to be a short boat trip.
After a long, long boat trip in which Masaki queasily reconsidered all of his life choices to go to school on an island that he couldn’t fly to, they finally arrived at the dock of Taiyuu High School.
The place for hero hopefuls.
Three people welcomed the applicants on a podium, one was a lady with black and white hair, who was kinda scary looking. Another was a deer man in a suit, and the last was a dog.
The dog looked smart.
"Hello! I am Mrs. Chikyu, and I'm the principal here at Taiyuu High. This is the vice principal, Mr Kazumi. Alright applicants! First there's the written test," the lady waited for the groans and moans to subside then continued, "Then there's the practical exam! The practical exam is an obstacle course where you'll have to beat up some robots, save some people, and get to the finish line as fast as you can!"
She paused for their murmurs again."Also, the test is on another island. So be prepared for one more boat trip! But for now, follow either me, or Mr. Kazumi to go your written exam rooms."
Not another one.
All of the applicants finish in record time it feels like, die to the anticipation of the practical exam. And they board one more boat to get to another island.
Masaki sighs as he watches the other applicants mill around, all of which seem much more confident then he was. He started putting on his multitude of jewelry, first the iron ring, then the turquoise necklace, then the silver bracelet, and finally gold earrings.  Masaki glanced disastefully down at himself.
“Man, I haven’t been this mismatched in a longg time.” he muttered, eyeing the shininess of his jewelry in comparison to his drab sleeveless hoodie, sweatpants, and red shoes.
A few minutes later, they finally arrived.
Masaki looked up in astonishment at this humongous facility, that was used only once a year for just entrance exams.
Imagine what the real thing is like, Masaki.
The principal clapped her hands to grab their attention. “Alright folks, let’s get started! Don’t forget, you need to finish one lap through the course! Okay, GOOOO!”
Startled by the abrupt start, everyone froze to look at the principal who only smiled back at them. She shooed them forward, “I said go already! Come on, guys!”
Along with most of the other applicants, he finally took the hint and took off, dashing as hard as he could as he headed for his first obstacles.
It looked like the first zone was an absolutely trashed city. All of it was ruined, with building skeletons, fires, and wreckage, everywhere he looked. He vaguely remembered something about rescuing people from the principal’s first speech, but she skimmed over it so quickly that Masaki definitely could not remember what was said about it.
Masaki was going to fly over the course to get to the end faster, and maybe get to the so called villains a bit faster. He did need a place to jump off from, because while his wings were strong, they acted more like a glider because of his body wasn't completely adjusted for wings.
He ran towards the closest building skeleton with the intent of climbing it, when he stumbled over a humanoid robot.
I wonder what this is doing here. Maybe it’s a robot that someone defeated already?I
A sign flashed on the robot’s chest. It said “Rescue Me”.
“Alright, gotta do what the lady asks.” said Masaki shrugging. He picked up the robot, and ran towards the closest “safe zone” which were marked by the forcefield around it, to keep applicants safe if they needed a break, or to store these “people” to save.
He was almost to the safe zone when he heard a heavy thud. He turned quickly to see what was behind him, and what he saw was a giant robot with a two printed on it, aiming a laser at the person on his back.
Masaki looked up at the robot. “Well, that’s fun.”
The robot made a big show of charging up its laser, and Masaki sprinted into the safe zone to get the person inside. The laser fired seconds after he entered, and it hit the barrier.
He wiped the sweat off his face in his short respite, and launched himself back into the fray, watching carefully as other people used their quirks to destroy robots and move forward, someone was punching very neat holes through the robot, someone appeared to be teleporting robots’ heads off, it was nuts.
Masaki faced down the robot that was firing at him earlier, and eyed it. He already knew what he was going to do, but he needed to be sure that there was enough time for him to do it.
1.
2.
3.
Ok, let’s go!
Masaki started tapping his eyeballs frantically, and activated his quirk, forming two iron and turquoise knives. Dissipating his wings, he whipped out the knives to begin stabbing and climbing up the giant robot. Reaching the top, having barely broken a sweat, he formed a much, much larger chunk of turquoise and started bashing the robots head like there was no tomorrow. Satisfied with his destruction, he dissipated his weapons, reformed his wings, and launched himself off the robot, going on to the next robot that he saw repeating the process on quite a few others.
This is wayyy too easy. How’s this an exam? How many robots have I destroyed? How many people have I rescued? God, I hope I have enough points to pass…. Oh lol, she just fell off that robot!
Masaki had no idea how many he had destroyed, but he figured his point level was getting higher. He had made a few of the robots shoot at each other, and the ones with a 3 on them were easy to trip up. He continued to rescue people both from robots, and from other applicants who were being so stupid with their quirks.
He growled in frustration as he threw up a wall of earth to protect the person he's rescuing.
Like really guys, it's not that hard to just aim!
Cursing as his eyes twitched in pain from the dust around him, he reached the next zone, only to find that it’s just a mountain.
Round two, same procedure.
Make knives.
Climb Robot.
Bash the robot’s head in, dissipate his weapons, and glide down.
Rinse, and repeat.
Masaki made it to the next zone in record time, having an easier time making it uphill then the other applicants due to having climbed one of the robots and soaring over the peaks instead of climbing over it like an average pleb.
He reveled in the feeling of the wind through his hair, and wondered what it would be like to really have wings. Wings made of flesh and blood that he could feel.
If only I were more like my parents.
In the midst of his enjoyment, he winced as he realized that he probably missed a bunch of people to rescue.
The mountain came to an abrupt end, as it started steeply plunging downhill, showing a terrain made of different sized rocks. It looked like a landslide. The robots looked like they were having a hard time navigating through the terrain.
I’m going to have to be more careful.
Instead of rushing at the robots like he had earlier, now he went a bit slower, to make sure he wasn't knocking anything down.
He climbed up on more robot, and knocked it out with his usual technique, when he realized that it was collapsing.
Oh no. Oh no no no no.
Masaki watched in horror as he saw the thing tilt and crashdown, underneath him, and frantically leaped off, hopefully to avoid the giant landslide that he was sure was going to crash down and crush something.
He landed several meters away, and braced himself for the inevitable thud.
Only it didn't come. All the rocks remained in their exact positions before the robot had fallen.
Of course they wouldn't make it so it could hurt anybody. I guess the rocks really are stable!
Masaki had glided his way to the last zone, having rescued people and bashed robots along the way, when he came to what looked like a shore line. A big shoreline. There were floating robots with lasers floating around.
He could see the end in the distance, indicated by two bright yellow flags, and saw other competitors heading towards it already, making creative uses of their quirks to get across.
Masaki sighed and blinked his eyes blearily. There wasn't any place high enough for him to glide off of, so he's going to have to swim over to one of the robots and climb one of those.
Damn, I'm so tired.
He sighed, and got into the water, shivering at its cold temperature and began swimming. He agonized at the sight of all the other applicants making much better time than him, and when he finally reached the robot, he didn't even try to do anything cool. He swung up, bashed it with huge chunk of turquoise and called it a day.
He finally reached the top, and reformed his wings for the last time. He jumped and glided down from the robot, almost to the finish line when he saw someone struggling in the water.
It was a person covered with freckles and an awful tie dye job that he had seen earlier in the waiting room.
Oh dear. I think he's drowning. But how is he drowning? I mean, his head is above the water.
With a pang of shock, Masaki swooped a bit lower to see what was wrong, and misjudging his aim, nosedived into the water.
"SHI-!"
The other person, taking no notice of him, continued to struggle in the water.
"Hey-" Masaki coughed. " I'm going to try and get you out, ok?"
The winged boy dissipated his wings, and grabbed onto the other person by the arm, and tried dragging them to the finish line, which was so, so close, but so far away from a kid who had been going full force with nothing but his brute strength.
Why did I ever think I could rescue someone else in the water when I'm this exhausted? Also, why does the person feel like they got stabbed a bunch or something?
Masaki reached down to his feet and created a large piece of plastic to float on the surface of the water with the freckles person.
Yeah, I'm not going to make it. This plastic is only going to last for a few more seconds, I hope someone's going to come out here to come help us.
Masaki felt a weight on the piece of plastic that was keeping them afloat. He looked up to see a grey skinned girl, reaching down and touching the two people. The world spun, and then they landed, thankfully, at the finish line.
Masaki got up from his face plant, and looked at his savior.
"Thank you for saving me!" said Masaki rubbing his neck sheepishly. "Sorry, about that, I didn't mean to mess with your race."
She glanced at him for a moment, muttered something, and walked off.
He watched her leave and shrugged. Let bygones be bygones, right?
Masaki went to crouch by the freckles person, who now that he realized, was covered with holes.
Yup, sure, why not.
The brown haired boy shook their shoulder.
" Hey. Are you doing ok?"
They stirred, and sat up.
"How the fuck did I get here? I mean I know I fell off a robot, but jeez. Did I suddenly gain the ability to teleport?"
" Well, no, but that girl can teleport!" The holey kid with green eyes spun around to look at Masaki. " She got us out!"
"Oh that's good," They sighed, and frowned. "What do you mean, we?"
Masaki grinned sheepishly and blinked hard to try and clear his vision. "Um, I tried to rescue you? And I started drowning myself?"
He snorted. "That's one way to go."
Masaki grinned. "Yup, it sure is. Isn't it super cool that we made it! I hope we passed! And..."
The two walked off together towards the main building, and waited for the rest of the applicants.
".... And that's how my quirk works!"
The Principal butted in, and announced to the crowd of kids.
"Alright guys! See you next time! Your results will come in the mail in a few days! Good luck!"
With that, they were delivered back to the docks.
Masaki returned home to an empty house, and finished his chores for the day. He left a note for his parents telling about his day, and took off all his jewelry.
As he fell asleep, there was only one thought in his mind.
And now we wait.
