Southern yandere being raised on those good morals and Christian values until they meet reader. Being the apple of the towns eye and everyoneâs favorite golden boy turned into a savage mess when anyone dares to mess with his darling! Perverted once he seeâs reader in revealing clothes for the summer (to beat that southern heat!). Suddenly he has to pray more often since only not so sacred thoughts come to mind when he thinks of you (which is ALL the time). The polite manners being CRANKED UP when they are in ur vicinity. The oh so bold flirting! BEING COURTED by the most desired guy in TOWN. And no one would help u girl, u think THE (his name) would bother stalking YOU? How pretentious. Knows how to court a lady but if you keep on playing hard to get heâll just have to show you heâs the BEST and ONLY option for you.
âWell hello there August!â You say with a sweet smile, fanning yourself by tugging at your shirt as sweat seeps into the fabric. âWhat brings you by? Needing more chicken eggs?â you ask, used to the man asking for one or more things he could buy from you or help you out with. Always so courteous and gentlemen like, even when you insist he doesnât have to be.Â
Itâs sweet, youâll admit. Heâs been trying his best to be sweet and kind to you, even the town is beginning to think youâre all he worries about anymore. His duties often get neglected when youâre on his mind, which seems to be every hour of the day.Â
âNo, no, I was just comin by to see why youâre working in heat like this. You could get killed if you aint careful yâknow? Jesse nearly had a heat stroke a few days ago âcause he thought he could handle the stables all by himselfâÂ
You snort, dusting your hands off on your jeans âWell, I ainât Jesse. Jesse needs to learn a thing or two about asking for help when he needs it too, I learned that lesson the hard wayâ. August laughs at that, tipping his hat as he does so. âYeah, boy aint the brightest. Iâll give you that. You wouldnât mind taking a break for sweet tea or anything would ya? Iâd love to waste your time for a bitâ.Â
Nodding, you begin to walk into your house, heading to the sink to wash your hands from the dirt and muck covering them from the chores. âIâll make ya a glass in just a sec, let me get a bit cleaned up. You get your things done today? Pastor told me to yell at you a bit if you lagged behind one more time. Think he meant it too, âis face was redder than hellâ.Â
August comes up from behind, wrapping his arms around you as you stand at the sink. Your face dusts pink as he lays his head on your shoulder, his breath right on your ear as he gruffly says âDonât worry about what he says. I know what Iâm doing, and how Iâm gonna do it. Anyone gives you more trouble you come to me alright?âÂ
The sudden playful mood felt more tense, his arms squeezing you tight against him as your voice struggled to come out. âYouâre like a hen, I swear. I'm not some dainty little belle, I can tell a pastor off if I need to. Now sit down, Iâll make you a glassâ.Â
You two sit and chat for a while, August giving you stares that you couldnât quite read from time to time as you mention how your life here was going. He was a real sweetheart, a man of manners and good values, itâs no wonder the whole town loves him. But there's something there, stirring and growing, you just donât know it yet.Â
Itâs a dark, unleashed beast of a thing for sure.Â
-------------
Six months have passed since youâve moved down here, and the winter seems awfully brutal. Your house is refusing to stay warm lately, and as much as you hate to admit it, youâre terrible with a wood cutting axe. Never could get the aim right.Â
As if on cue, the towns most beloved bachelor comes driving into your yard in his truck, practically leaping out as he runs to you with a worried and dare you say frustrated appearance. âWhat on earth has gotten into you? Put me down!â you hollered, being lifted up over his shoulder with ease as he carries you inside without so much as a hello.Â
âMe? Whatâs gotten into you? Itâs below freezing and youâre out there trying to cut wet wood that wonât burn! Youâre gonna get frost bite, and momma wonât let me hear the end of it if I let you get hurt!âÂ
âFor your information I was doing just fine!â you scold, being dropped down gently onto your couch as he stands over you, arms crossed over his chest. â...I ainât moving until you promise me you wonât go back out there in weather like thisâÂ
âUnfair game to me. Seeing as alls I gotta do is tickle you in the right spot to get you out of my wayâÂ
âDangerous game to play to me, seeing as your touch would do a bit more than tickle meâ he says with a seductive tint to his voice, his face coming down to meet yours as you become more flustered âA touch from a sexy thing like you, wouldnât make me move out of the way. Itâd make me pick you up and show you how I wanna touch you tooâÂ
You both stay there for a minute, your eyes becoming playful and your tone more flirty as you lean closer, daring to kiss his lips. âHmm. And what would your momma think if something happened before marriage?âÂ
âWho says I canât make you say my name without breaking that rule?âÂ
âOh now youâre just being a mean old flirt. Is this your way of warming me up? Cause as much as I like it, I do need to get work doneâÂ
August doesnât budge. If anything, he seems determined to tower over you like this, keeping you in place. âI think youâd be better off at my house for a few days. Especially since the holidays are coming up and the weather is only gonna get worseâ he says as if he didnât just act like he would go a few rounds in the bedroom with you.Â
âWeâve talked about this-âÂ
âI know. Youâre worried about the animals and such. Never said I wouldnât let you come by to do your stuff, I just think you need a place with actual heat since this place is clearly in need of more repair than we thought. It ainât gotta be a month or nothing, just til we get it fixedâÂ
You worry your lip, unsure and not exactly comfortable with just staying a few nights at his house. âThe town will think weâre being a bit-âÂ
âThe town also thinks aunt Susie's pie is the best, but they ainât right in that regard eitherâ he cuts you off, taking your cold hand and kissing your fingertips softly âI wonât do nothing, I promise. Iâll even let the church and every gossiper in town have a piece of my mind if they start making you upset. Just please, let me keep you warm. Itâll break my heart if I know youâre suffering like this any longerâÂ
His eyes are so sweet as they plead, and how he holds and warms your hands makes this deal all the more enticing. What can you say? You really have no other choice, and youâre so lucky to have him here for you like this. âA-alright, August. Just until we figure out why my heat aint working. No more than thatâÂ
Oh, just knowing youâd come willingly at all is more than he couldâve asked for. He hates having to force his hand in these situations, but itâs needed! Thatâs why he had to ruin your heating system, to show you that heâd be the better option in the long run and he could get you out of that shithole house faster.Â
But he wonât tell his little secret. The plan is to get you in his home, then in his bed, and in his arms. Town can think whatever they want, but no one would suspect him of sabotage and stalking. He plays his role very well, knows how to manipulate anyone who tries and ruin his chance with you. If they push too hard for you to leave, he might just stage another accident or two.Â
Whatever it takes to keep you with him and him only.Â
((HI! I hope this didnât go too off the rails, I really enjoyed it! I hope you did too! -Mommabean))

"Why, someone is getting tired of my cooking,"
If y'all like good John Dory angst with some HickDory side severing, you should read AhkiKris's fic Guilty As Sin?
This particular drawling is based on the chapter 18 cooking scene!
[below the cut for a bonus yandere joke pic]
"They're probably wondering where you are. If Branch and I weren't on okay terms, he'd probably think I kidnapped you."
This is what happens when you make jokes about kidnaping and yanderes in the comments with the author lol
BTW They don't have tails or anything in fic so the actual ficart reflects that. This silly extra piece on the other hand is free game lol

I think Brucie would love hot porridge-y stuff for breakfast like grits or oatmeal. It would take a while for him to warm up to cold oats, like the overnight oats with yogurt, but heâd eat if if it would make you happy and itâd grow on him eventually.

Fire lily
You were the daughter of one of the world's most ruthless pirates. In his youth, your father had been Fire Lord Azulon's right-hand man and had led the fire nation's navy to victory. He had conquered the most important port cities of the Earth Kingdom. Following a political dispute and an Agni Kai that your father won with great difficulty, he chose to betray the Fire Nation. Many powerful men of the navy joined him and formed the Ruby Claw, a ruthless and greedy crew that generally preyed on fire navy ships and sometimes Earth Kingdom ships.Â
You inherited cunning, intelligence and hatred for the Fire Nation. This very hatred made you start a suicidal fight with more than 50 enemy ships. You led your men to victory but you were seriously wounded and taken prisoner. The 3 remaining ships immediately set off for the Capital to surrender you to the Fire Lord. On the way you lost consciousness due to blood loss. You woke up with a bad headache. You got up from the bed you were sitting on and laughed at the stupidity of those who captured you, what idiots! They didn't even tie your hands! Then you looked at the room you were in and froze. Furs and wood, blue and brown everywhere, those idiots lost you to a crew of water tribes! Now you understood why your father said that without his iron hand the fire nation's navy would not have been able to withstand even some wooden ships. You got out as easily as you could on the deck trying to beat the dizziness and the headache. You didn't get to analyze the ship and the crew very well because the captain appeared in front of you instantly. You got scared and almost hit him in the face but you calmed down quickly. The man was not much taller than you and he looked extremely worried.Â
Hakoda: are you ok miss? You were unconscious for 2 days. You were captured by the Fire Nation, do you remember how or why?Â
Y/N: 2 days? I feel like I haven't drunk anything in ages! I don't remember for sure how, I think an idiot managed to hit my head on the deck. They probably wanted to organize a beautiful public execution for me. You know, the presence of the Fire Lord, the sages and all that. It would have been a real honor to know that I will be executed by a coward who hides behind his 14-year-old daughter.
Now both the captain and the crew members who heard your little speech looked at you terrified. You chuckled and grabbed the first bottle of alcohol you could find then drank it all in one gulp.Â
Y/n: Oh! where are my manners, if it can be said that I ever had any. I'm Y/N, Y/F/N's daughter. Thank you for saving me from those coal heads.Â
Hakoda: I am Hakoda, Chief of the Southern Water Tribe. There is no need to thank us, the enemies of our enemies are our friends. Also, I couldn't have sat and watched you die at the hands of those monsters.
 Y/N: how sweet of you.
You notice another water tribe ship approaching you. A tall man steps down from the side of the ship and hugs Hakoda. You looked at his arm covered with burns, sighing. You hated the Fire Nation more every day, those bastards deserved every robbery and attack you led against them. Someone had to give them a taste of their own medicine. Your train of thought was interrupted by your new savior who introduced the man as Bato, his best friend. You were invited to dine with them and listen to Bato's stories. It seems that Hakoda had children and that they were traveling with the avatar. So goodbye chances to have a good time with the handsome man next to you. Why are all handsome men taken and you only attract idiots like Zhao?! If that tin head tries to offer you the honor of marrying him one more time, I swear that one of you will die in agony, and it won't be you.
Bato: I don't mean to be rude but are you a firebender? only that the style in which you tie your hair, your name and your clothes are common in the Fire Nation.
Y/N: good observation, yes I am a firebender. I belong to a noble family but my father betrayed the Fire Nation before I was born. Now I fight the Fire Nation in a less traditional way.
Bato: how do you mean less traditional?Â
Y/N: I'm the captain of the Rubin Claw.
The two men laughed heartily for a few moments then realized that you were as serious as possible. Hakoda looks at you in absolute terror.
Hakoda: Don't you think it's a bit dangerous? You could die for La's name! The Fire Nation is ruthless!Â
Y/N: oh! Seriously? I didn't know that at all!Â
You point at Bato's arm unimpressed. Hakoda sighs deeply and goes to his mattress to sleep.Â
Y/N: not that I don't think he's cute, but what's the deal with him? Does he have a savior complex or am I too irresistible?Â
Bato looks at his friend knowingly. You notice that the taller man is lost in his thoughts. You look at him with a raised eyebrow.
Y/N: Listen Bato, I know I may seem rude and uncaring but I really like your friend. He is different from all the men I have known.
Bato: why do I have the impression that you only knew pirates and captains of the Fire Nation Navy?Â
Y/N: ok ok. You got me. But I was serious when I said that I like him. I want you to be honest, do you think I have a chance with him? I know he has children but you haven't mentioned anything about a wife or girlfriend.Â
Bato: His wife died a few years ago in a raid, we don't like to talk about her because her death is still an open wound.Â
Y/N: I'm really sorry, good people don't deserve to die or lose their loved ones like this. Please send your condolences to the children, I know what it's like to lose your mother at a young age.
 Bato: I will Y/N, I will.Â
You went back to the cabin where you woke up and quickly fell asleep. You were woken shortly after sunrise by some urgent knocks on the door. You opened the door only to see Bato looking panicked. You went out on deck and noticed that the water tribe ships were surrounded by your own ships. You grinned dangerously when you saw Akain, your right hand and also your half brother, coming towards you.Â
Y/N: what took you so long to find me son of a rattlesnake?
Akain: I would have found you sooner if you had stayed on the fire nation ship and we have the same father little viper.Â
Akain playfully hits you on the head and Hakoda immediately comes towards you. Your brother looks at the water tribe man amused. You roll your eyes and put the firebender back on his ship telling him to wait for you. You return to the watertribe ship and hug Bato. You notice that Hakoda is trying to convince you to give up being a pirate and you laugh briefly. You pull the captain into a passionate kiss. He is frozen for a few seconds and then he responds to your kiss.Â
Akain: so when you told me that you befriended the watertribe captain, did you mean friendship with benefits?Â
You break the kiss and pull away from Hakoda blushing furiously.Â
Y/N: I'm ashamed that we have the same blood, you mentally retarded idiot!Â
You return to your ship and kick your brother because he collapsed from laughing so much. While your ships are moving away you look at Hakoda who seemed to want to swim to you.Â
Hakoda: You can't kiss me and walk away like that!Â
Y/N: Then come and get me my love!Â
You giggle at his disappointed look and at Bato who tries to hold him in place. You hope that you will see each other again someday and that maybe, just maybe, you will be able to continue what you started without your annoying brother bothering you.
Let's say you had a big surprise when you snuck into Boiling Rock to help your brother escape and that Hakoda will not lose you again. This world is far too dangerous for a fire lily like you.

Iâve been thinking about your fist
The way it would look tearing through my fleshÂ
Red-stained, every drop of me given to youÂ
Replace my blood with the feeling of your touchÂ
I could live off of just thatÂ
I want my flesh between your teethÂ
My blood dribbling down your chinÂ
Iâd let you tear into me
All I ask is that once Iâm torn open you lick me clean
Suck the marrow like itâs something you crave
Devour me in affectionÂ

August hits me as they time of yandere who although prefers to wait for marriage before kids, if pushed far enough will impregnate his darling then force them to marry him
I can see that! I feel it would be his last resort, well, last resort until he must absolutely tie you up like an animal and keep you in his bed. And if you can't get pregnant, that's fine too, he'll just show you how deeply he loves you while breeding you within an inch of your life.
He isn't a monster however, his momma raised a gentleman! He knows to focus on your pleasure first and foremost (however unwanted that might be). He has no problem taking his time and whittling away your will to fight.

Hey, how's it going with the summer heat fast approaching?
Hey anon! Thanks for the ask; I'm a huge wuss when it comes to heat-- I've been having a hard time forming/reading sentences it's so hot! So I've been staying away from the windows with curtains drawn, air conditioning blasting, eating popsicles, and using box fans for every room ^^;
And it's only going to get worse, so I'm looking up heatwave tips from Texans, Arizonans, and Thai forums. Something about it just feels EXTRA bad this year...
I'mma lay down in my dark, well-ventilated rooms, and hope these next few months pass by quickly.
#im from southern ontario too so like I KNOW europeans are judging me rn#tbh very fair. it doesn't get super hot in the grand scheme of things. But you should pity me the same you would a polar bear in Wyoming#not yandere

Centaur Head Canons: Tying you up
Centaur bf x fem!readerâ bondage, teasing, nipple play, oral (f!receiving), cum eating, yandere behavior
The height difference between you and your centaur bf was always something you both enjoyed, despite its brief troublesome moments.
One of those moments being the strain it put on his body whenever he maneuvered himself to eat you out. The most troublesome part of that being is that your centaur bf fucking loved to lap at your sweet pussy. He longed to get lost in the apex of your thighs and to suffocate between your folds.
It was his favorite meal and every now and then he couldnât help but kick his legs back, tail already swishing in anger by not having easier access to your cunt.
Until one day he couldnât help but notice the beams and the way they crossed within his stable. The height at which they sat⌠leading to a wicked idea forming in his mind.
And thatâs how you found yourself suspended high up in the air of Centaur bfs stable, constricted around so many loops of rope you had lost count. Your arms strung up in the air and your legs forcibly spread as wide as they could go. Leaving yourself vulnerable to whatever your bf wanted to do to you.
Centaur bfs ties the knot right in the valley of your breasts, the texture of the rope sending goosebumps along your spine and hardening your nipples.
âYouâre gonna do so good for me, sugarplum,â your bf rumbles, his southern accent having a naturally calming effect on you. His hands teasingly trail down your body, eliciting gasps from your throat as he makes his way down to your glistening pussy. Already so wet and ready for him.
Centaur bfâs mouth salivates the second your scent wafts into his nose. His licks his lips, leaning in and soaking up every bit of the scent of your arousal. He lets it coat his tongue, imagining being able to taste you and fully lose himself in your flavor. His hands massage your steady thighs, gripping the bottom of them so he can keep your dripping folds right up against him.
He nuzzles into you, getting your essence all over his face. Not wanting to rush a moment of this he just takes you in, even as you whine and faintly beg for him to lick you. His tongue darts out, flicking a dollop of your liquid into his mouth and he groans loudly.
âGood heavens,â he rasps before he unhinges his jaw and his tongue slides up into your cunt like a man starved. Hands squeezing at your thighs as he laps up every drop that had gushed out of your nice glistening pussy.
He takes full advantage of having such easy access to you. His tongue swirling through your folds in ways heâs never been able to do before. He rediscovers your pussy, making sure every inch of it is pleasured by his eager tongue.
Your moans ring throughout the air, body writing and hips wriggling as you both try and lean in and escape the unrelenting pleasure Centaur bf is unleashing upon you. Your bf lets out a rough huff and the clomp of his hoof hits the ground loudly. His fingers digging into your ass and holding you tighter against his mouth.
Centaur bf canât decide on which part of you tastes best as he licks you up like youâre the best tasting sugar cube heâs ever had.
He wants to taste it all, all at once. His long thick tongue slipping deep inside your cunt before sliding up to suck at your clit. Forcing unbelievable sensations to crash into your body in waves. Your body shakes, only making the ropes brush tantalizingly against your skin and adding to your pleasure. With a ragged shriek you cum all over Centaur bfs face.
A loud neigh chokes out through your bfs throat, his front legs rising a little in order to get impossible closer your gushing pussy. Your release soaks his face and he growls, rushing to lick every drop of it up. You cry out loudly, overstimulation setting in as he just doesnât stop. Lighting your nerves on fire in the best way.
âO-okay, get me down now. Someone could come in at any minute,â you croak, slight worry to your tone. You two are in the public stables after all, just as your bf had planned.
Centaur bf stays firmly against your spasming lips, lazily stroking up and down your walls to get any remaining ounce of your orgasm. His eyes darken as they look up at you, not that you very much notice as you pant heavily, suspended so highly above him and the ground.
A part of him wanting someone to hear. Wanting to bring you to the point of ecstasy that someone canât help but overhear and wander in, worried your screams are ones of pain and not pleasure. Only to find you here in his stall. That youâre his and heâs the one bringing you to such a peak. Before they rush out to leave you two alone because above all your nosies are for him and him alone to enjoy to the fullest.
Hesitantly leaning away from your pussy he starts rubbing out the muscles of your thighs as they twitch and quiver in his hold. You look down at his face and immediately whine, seeing the amount of lust in his eyes. What you didnât know yet was just how many plans your bf had for you. How many ways he wanted to watch you fall apart in these ropes before he takes your exhausted body and takes you again. His eyes sparkle with how much need he has for you. Knowing you need him just as much.
âOh, weâre not done yet, pretty girl,â Centaur boyfriend says in faux sweetness. One hand slips back to your ass while the other slides along your inner thigh. You hiss as two of his fingers glide along your slit and make your hips jolt at the spark of pain that shoots through your pussy. Your bf chuckles, seeing how your body reacts to him.
âGotta get you all ready and stretched out for my cockâŚâ

No one asked but Iâve decided to post one of my favorite original smut works!
Yandere Short Story: Insatiable
Yandere monster x Afab reader x Yandere ex fiancĂŠ
Minors DNI
8.4k words
âCedric?â A tall, dark haired man glanced up from his paper work to see his small wife at the door. His red eyes gazing at her coldly. âOh, sorry⌠my lord. You didnât reply to any of my letters so I decided to come see you myself. I was wondering if you had time to-â
âIâm busy with work. How about you go take a walk or something seeing that youâre not busy with anything.â Cedric replied coldly, causing the young woman to glance sadly at her hands.
  âOh⌠Iâm sorry-â
âStop with your needless apologies and shut my door. Youâre letting the cold air in.â Cedric hissed before returning to his mountain of paper work.
âGood bye, my lord.â (Your name) softly whispered, a sad look in her eye. The young woman shutting the door before looking at the small, cloth bag beside her. Its contents being one change of clothes, a pouch of water, and some bread.
(Your name) had finally decided to leave him. Her feelings for him had gradually disappeared over the years of being engaged to him seeing that he couldnât even return a fraction of what she felt for him. It was time for her to leave this loveless, joyless place and to go live as a commoner. Hopefully Cedric would eventually read the letter she had sent him a few days ago about annulling their marriage.
The young woman pulled her tattered cloak over her head, making her way down the manorâs steps with ease.
Not a single servant paying her any mind. A smile made its way to her lips at the thought of finally no longer having to sit in her cold room up in the tower. How sheâd be able to travel wherever she wanted and maybe sheâd even find someone to love her eventually. How she could finally have friends that didnât need her husband to pay them to talk to her.
(Your name) soon stood outside the gloomy palace, a smile on her lips. The young woman giving the palace one last look before she headed into the forest.
âGood bye. I wonât miss you.â  She then headed into the dark silent forest. Set on leaving the Southern empire forever.
.Â
.Â
.Â
âThis tea is bland and terrible.â Cedric complained to his maid who began to sweat nervously. âWhy isnât it here on its usual time and why isnât it its normal flavor?â
âAh⌠the duchess usually takes care of thatâŚâ the maid replied before giving the lord a bow. âNone of us have seen her in awhile so we had to brew some older leaves.â
Cedric sighed before rising from his chair, causing the maid to gulp at how large he was.
âThat stupid woman. Iâll go see what sheâs up to now then I guess.â Cedric made his way towards the east end of the manor, climbing up the flight of stairs to (your name)âs room.Â
A frown forming on his face when he didnât see a single servant on this side of the manor. Where were all the servants? Shouldnât she have some around here to clean it?
Cedric stood before the door at the top of the tower. His hand pressing against the old wood. A frown on his face.
âMy lady. Can you open the door?â No response.
âMy lady?â Cedric pressed his knuckle against the door, causing the door to squeal open. Red eyes widening in shock at the tattered blanket that sat on top of a pile of hay. This couldnât be her roomâŚ
Where was her bed? Her dresses? Cedric burst into the room examining everything in disbelief.Â
âCan I lay with you, Cedric? Itâs starting to get cold?âÂ
Cedric frowned at the memory. (Your name) really was cold wasnât she? And he always turned her awayâŚ
A small desk with letters littering the top of it caught his attention. Was this the only thing she had in her room? As a duchess, she only had this small desk?Â
Red eyes narrowed at all the letters that were dated and addressed to him. Cedric quickly opened one of the older letters his eyes softening at its contents.
âI finally was able to get the maids to teach me how to make that chamomile tea you like so much. I hope weâll be able to drink it together someday. When youâre not busy of course. I love you, Cedric.â
Cedric opened another letter, a dried sprig of babyâs breath falling out of the envelop. His pale fingers picking it up with utmost care. Red eyes scanning over the delicate hand writing.
âDid you know babyâs breath means everlasting love? Isnât that neat? I hope that our love is ever lasting as well. Iâd like to go on a picnic with you while itâs still spring. If youâre not busy of course. I love you, Cedric.â
âToday, I saw a pair of swans in the pond in the garden. Did you know swans stay together for life? I read that in a book in the library. I thought it was pretty neat. Maybe itâs childish of me to think that way, but I hope weâll be like that. I love you, Cedric.â
Cedric continued to tear apart the letters with fervor. Sweat dripping down his neck as his hands began to shake. All of these letters and heâs never read any of them from her⌠he always returned them back to her⌠always ignored her⌠he was starting to get scaredâŚ
âItâs getting colder up in the tower but the maids took my bed. They said theyâre freezing too. Is there anyway I could also have some new blankets. I hope thatâs not too much of a bother for you. Thank you. I love you, Cedric.â
âIâve been sleeping in the library over the winter. I hope that doesnât interfere with your work. I heard thereâs a ball upcoming in the neighboring empire. Iâve never been to a ball before. Is there anyway we could go? Iâd really like a new dress. The one I had all these years is starting to get a little loose since weâre so scarce on food. Thank you. I love you, Cedric.â
There was no scarcity in food. Who on earth hadnât the servants been feeding her? Who took her bed? Her blankets?
Cedric sorted through the letters until the last one stuck out to him.
His pale hand opened the letter, his eyes widening in shock. She had filled out divorce papers⌠why would she do that?
âI donât think youâre ever going to read this until youâve realized I left. But I want a divorce. I canât live like this. Itâs so cold and miserable here. No one talks to me here. I found out that the only acquaintance I had here, you were paying to talk to me so I wouldnât bother you⌠and I was really hurt by that. If Iâm really that awful to be with, Iâll go. I just want you to be happy, Cedric. Even if itâs not with me. So good bye, Cedric. If you try to have a conversation with me in a few days I may reconsider but if not, youâll find this then. Iâll probably be halfway through the forest by then. Good bye, Cedric.â
Cedric began to shake. She had stopped by his office and he had turned her away⌠he unknowingly sent her away⌠he sent his loving wife away in the wild⌠wait.
Didnât she know the forest was infested with monsters?
âGuards! Hurry. Send a search party to the forest, now!â Cedric threw the letter to the side, screaming on the top of his lungs. His legs running as fast as he could down the steps and through the palace.
The guards rising up in shock before quickly springing into action. Â
âThe duchess has gone missing! She could be in danger!â Cedric shouted, the Duke running to grab his sword and horse. âWe have to find her by all means necessary!â
Cedric frowned as he glanced at the dark forest. His eyebrows furrowed in worry. He prayed she was safe. He was so lucky he noticed her absence in just a dayâŚ
.Â
.Â
.Â
(Your name) hummed as she walked through the forest without a care in the world. So far, sheâs been lucky and she hasnât ran into a single monster.
She knew there was a possibility she could run into danger but she truly believed the monsters wouldnât bother her if she didnât have a weapon on her. Plus, there wasnât much meat on her bones since she wasnât being fed at the palace.
âDonât you know thereâs monsters in the woods?â A voice hissed at (your name), causing the girl to glance at a tall man wearing silver armor with an unfamiliar, blue crest on it. The silver helmet completely covering his face.
Well at this point in her journey, sheâs going to disregard the stranger danger rule.
âOh I know. Iâm just passing through is all.â
âEither youâre a very brave woman or a very stupid one.â A laugh left her throat as she smiled at the stranger.
âA little of both. Iâm just going anywhere to start a new.â The girl smiled at the knight before continuing her way.
âWait up!â The male trudged after her, standing above her. âYou canât just go walking in the forest by yourself. What if you get kidnapped or killed-â
âThen I get kidnapped or killed.â The knight held in a laugh before offering her an arm.
âI can lead you out of the forest if youâd like. My name is Etrian by the way.â
âThatâs a nice name.â (Your name) replied, taking the knights arm. âYou can just call me (your first name).â
âHmm. You have a pretty name.â Etrian smiled at the girl, causing her to furrow her brow.
âItâs a very basic name. Itâs not even worth remembering so you can call me anything youâd like.â Etrian tilted his helmet down in worry at her words. Wherever she came from, she more than likely never was treated with kindness.
âI like your name so Iâll call you, (your name).â Etrian replied, causing (your name) to giggle.Â
âItâs been a long time since Iâve laughed⌠thank you, Etrian.â Etrian gave (your name)âs hand a comforting squeeze.
âI was on my way to the Lancaster Palace but I think a damsel in distress is much more important at the moment.â Etrian puffed his chest out, causing (your name) to erupt in giggles again.
âMaybe I should call you the brave one then for traveling alone, Etrian.â (Your name) gave Etrian a smile, the male shaking his head in embarrassment.
  âItâs a knightâs duty.âÂ
(Your name) laughed some more, allowing Etrian to lead her through the forest. Their playful banter continuing.Â
.Â
.Â
.Â
Cedric searched the woods with fervor. Easily slaying any monster that crossed paths with them.
âMy lord. We found the body of the Northern empireâs diplomat and his party butâŚâ
âBut what? Did you find the Duchess?!â Cedric hissed, his red eyes coldly looking at the corpses of the northern empireâs men. But one was missing their armor.
  âWhereâs his armor?â
âThatâs what Iâm afraid of. It appears a monster may be parading around as a knight.â Cedric sighed before glancing nervously in the forest. He really hoped (your name) didnât run into that monsterâŚ
.Â
.Â
.Â
âEtrian. Do you like being a knight?â (Your name) asked her companion who hummed in response.
âNot really. Itâs kind of boring actually.â Etrian responded, his eyes glancing at (your name). âEspecially listening to a lordâs orders all the time and standing guard? It sucks.â
(Your name) laughed at his response. âAt least youâre honest, Etrian.â
âWhat about you, (your name)? What were you?â
(Your name) smiled sadly as she glanced at the forest floor, causing Etrian to raise his hands up in alarm.
âOh I didnât mean to upset you-â
âI was nothing.â (Your name) replied with a solemn look in her eye. âHave you ever felt like that before? Like nothing? My existence didnât matter where I came from before and after I ended up here.â
Etrian placed a gentle, leather gloved hand on (your name)âs arm. âNo I understand completely.â
âThanks, Etrian. Youâre really nice even though I think youâre really strange.â
  âHow am I strange?â
âYou abandoned the task at hand for me, which is very suspicious. But I appreciate you traveling and talking with meâŚÂ I canât remember the last time I actually had a conversation with someone.â
Etrian gave her a nod, trying his best not to have his helmet fall off his head.
âIsnât that helmet uncomfortable? You could always take it off.â Etrian held up his hands as he began to laugh.
âMaybe once we make it out of the forest.âÂ
âAlright. Keep your secrets then.â (Your name) giggled, Etrian watched her walk a little further a head. A black tentacle creeping out from the helmet before quickly slipping back in.
.Â
.Â
.Â
Cedric continued searching, a smile on his face once he saw a pair of footprints.
âShe went this way!â Cedric shouted to his men. The men all nodding their heads before following the tracks. âShe canât be far-â
Cedricâs red eyes widened when he saw a second pair of footprints beside hers. Their tracks barely as visible as hers.
âThe monster is with her!â Cedric began to breath heavily, his hands shaking as he held the reigns to his horse tightly. He was going to find her. Cedric just prayed nothing happened to her.
.Â
.Â
.Â
âEtrian. Youâre really light on your toes.â (Your name) stated, causing Etrian to laugh. âDo you like sneaking around?âÂ
âItâs just an unconscious habit of mine-â an arrow whizzed by Etrianâs head, causing a scream to leave (your name)âs throat.Â
  âJesus-â
âMy lady, step away from the monster!â one of the knights from the southern empire shouted, pointing his bow and arrow at Etrian.
âMonster? Thatâs Etrian-â (your name) replied, only for more knights to show up.
âOne of the knightâs armor was missing at the carriage accident up ahead-âÂ
âI can actually explain that.â Etrian replied as he grasped the helmet of his armor before pulling it off. Revealing a handsome man with long silver hair and blue eyes to all the knights. âItâs me. Duke Graham.â
âDuke Graham?! I canât believe itâs you!â One of the knights laughed, the others all releasing their breath that they were unconsciously holding. âYou were the only one missing from the carriage.â
(Your name)âs eyes widened in horror. While everyone else saw a handsome man, she saw a giant black octopus like creature as the head of the knight. Her body started convulsing in shivers.Â
âAre you alright, (your name)?â Etrian asked with worry laced in his voice, reaching a hand out to her. The tentacles moving in every which way, causing (your name) to hyperventilate and take a step back in fear.
â(Your name)!â Cedric rushed over to her, quickly separating her from the monstrous Duke. Cedric quickly dismounting his horse to hold (your name). âIâm so sorry. Please donât run off again.â
(Your name) didnât return Cedricâs hug, her eyes focused on the black octopus monster that was known as Etrian.Â
âLetâs head back home, okay? And Duke Graham. You can ride on one of the other horses we have here with one of the knights. My wife will ride with me.â Cedric stated, hoisting (your name) up on his horse.Â
(Your name) cast one last look at Etrian, the tentacles waving at her which on caused her to tear up even more.
While with the guards, they only saw Etrian give (your name) a warm smile and a wave. Why was she so scared of him? It wasnât like she was seeing a monster.
.Â
.Â
.Â
âWhy did you try to run off into the forest?â Cedric asked (your name) who sat in the sofa in his office with a blanket tightly wrapped around her. âYou couldâve died-â
âIt wouldâve been better than being here.â (Your name) muttered, pulling the soft blanket closer to herself. âAnything is better than here.â
Cedric stood up from his desk, sitting himself beside (your name).
âIâm going to start being a better husband. I moved your room to be next to mine now and you have a bed again. I also am currently working on investigating all of the staff that has mistreated you. Theyâre going to have their hands cut off for stealing and then exiled-â
âThatâs alright. You donât have to do any of those things.â (Your name) sighed, wrapping the blanket around her even tighter. âI would like to head to my room. Iâm quite tired.â
Cedric held a hand out for (your name) to take, which she ignored. The young woman choosing to stand up with her blanket securely wrapped around her.
âWould you like to have dinner together then?â
âNo. Just send it to my room please. Itâs kind of late for all of those things, donât you think?â (Your name) asked, avoiding eye contact with Cedric.Â
âI⌠Iâll try more. Just please donât run off like that again.âÂ
(Your name) opened the door to her room before shutting it quickly. The duchess laying down on the bed in defeat. She really was wishing she wouldâve left this place.
It was a shame Cedric had no intention of letting her go. Not to mention that Etrian was also staying with them for the time being.
.
.
.
Etrian sat in Cedricâs office sipping some hot tea. Blue eyes meeting red orbs.
âThanks for keeping my wife safe-â
âWhy did she run off?â Etrian hummed, causing  Cedric to glare at him.
âItâs none of your concern, Duke Graham.â Cedric hissed, causing Etrian to smile. Cedric narrowed his eyes at the doll like man.Â
âSheâs really pretty.â Etrian smiled at the peeved expression on Cedricâs face.
âWhat brings you to the Southern Empire?â Cedric gritted his teeth at Etrian who only gave him a hum.
âMostly for trading business but seeing that my men were mauled to death and looted by your monster infested forest, Iâll have to wait awhile till we can proceed in business. I may have to stay here awhile as well.â
Cedric sighed in defeat. His red eyes narrowing at Etrian. This was probably the most Etrian has spoken to Cedric in their entire life so far⌠and it irked Cedric.
âAlright. I can let you stay for awhile. Just please donât cause any trouble for me.â
âI wonât.â Etrian smiled, causing  Cedric to place a hand on his temple.Â
âIâll have the maids organize a room for you.â
Etrian beamed at Cedric, his blue orbs shining mischievously. He couldnât wait to see (your name) again.
.
.
.
Etrian wandered the halls, ignoring the excited whispers of the maids when he passed by. The silver haired man had adjusted well to the staffâs ramblings of his appearance.
âIsnât Duke Graham really handsome?â One of the maids asked another, causing the other maid to nod in agreement.
  âJust like a porcelain doll.âÂ
  âI heard heâs unmarried.â
Etrian made his way over to the library, his blue eyes widening once he saw (your name) sitting in a chair in the far back corner. Her focus completely on the book in front of her.
âAh. (Your name).â Etrian smiled at the duchess, who gave him a nervous glance. Her eyes completely avoiding eye contact with him. âMay I sit with you?â
âS-sure.â Etrian pulled out the chair beside (your name), the wooden legs squealing across the floor.Â
âWhat are you reading?â Etrian asked, causing (your name) to nervously glance up from her book.
âOh itâs just a fairy tale storyâŚâ (your name) shyly replied causing Etrian to furrow his brow.
âIâm quite fond of fairy tales. Which one is it?â
  âBeauty and the beast...âÂ
âThatâs my favorite one.â Etrian smiled, his tentacles flailing around excitedly, much to (your name)âs fear. âMy mother used to read it to me all the time as a child.â
âThatâs really nice.â Etrian tentacles suddenly laid flat on the table, one of them laying on (your name)âs shoulder as if to show that he was concerned for her.
âWhatâs wrong? You havenât really looked at me since the forest.â (Your name) gulped, her hands trembling when the tentacles began to slowly caress her body.Â
âI⌠Iâve just never seen anyone that looks like you is allâŚâ (your name) replied honestly. She wasnât wrong. Sheâs never seen someone with a black octopus like head before and she was terrified.Â
âOh⌠is my appearance not to your liking-â
âMy lady. The lord is looking for you.â The butler interrupted her and Etrianâs conversation, the young woman quickly rising up to her feet.
âAh. Sorry, Etrian. I have to get going.âÂ
Etrian clutched his chest, his heart beating rapidly in his chest. Could she really see him for what he truly was?Â
Etrian glanced at the book she was reading in awe. Was their story going to be just like beauty and the beast? Pure ecstasy consuming him.
She had to be just like his dad. His mom always told him his soul mate would be able to see his true form just like dad could see hers.Â
â(Your name)âŚâ Etrian couldnât wait to find out.
.Â
.Â
.Â
âYou called for me, my lord?â (Your name) bowed her head to Etrian, who frowned at her formality.
âI did call for you, (your name).â Cedric motioned for his butler to go bring some tea for the two of them. âIâd like to have some tea with you-â
âIâm not very fond of tea.â (Your name) wrapped her arms around herself, ignoring the disappointed look on Cedricâs face. âBut thank you for the invite.â
âHow about a walk in the garden? You love the garden.â Cedric asked, a hopeful tune in his voice. (Your name) frowned. Didnât he acknowledge that she had sent him divorce papers? Why on earth was he trying to court her now, of all times?Â
âAlrightâŚâ Cedric held out an arm for her, which (your name) hesitantly took. The dark haired Duke leading her down the halls and towards the garden.
A certain silver haired man watching them from the libraryâs window. His blue eyes studying the discomfort on (your name)âs face.
âYouâre not comfortable around that man are you, (your name)?â Etrian softly whispered to himself, his blue eyes memorizing her soft features on her pretty face. âI wonder if I can make you smile againâŚâ
Etrianâs shadow revealed his tentacles flailing about in excitement. The birds that sat near the window quickly flying away in fear of the monster that was in the palace.
.Â
.Â
.Â
It was a stiff silence between Cedric and (your name). The two walking side by side in the garden without muttering a word to each other.
âThereâs some swans in the pond, (your name)âŚâ Cedric smiled, softly breaking the silence. His red eyes glancing at her face, his eyes lighting up when he saw her smile at the swan pair.Â
He had finally found something that seemed to make her smile⌠Cedric was starting to get really worried about saving their relationship, especially with someone like Etrian in their home. Cedric had to admit that he was jealous of how beautiful Etrian was but he felt that there was something incredibly off about the silver haired male. Even when they were children, he was almost completely emotionless but he wasnât that way around (your name)⌠it was very unsettling to Cedric.
â(Your name), do you like Etrian?â (Your name) froze, her eyes wide at Cedricâs question.
âI wouldnât say like or dislike⌠IâmâŚâ Afraid. (Your name) thought to herself. Iâm afraid of him. âIndifferent towards him. Heâs a Duke from the northern empire so I have to be respectful to him is all.â
Cedric hummed, the Duke satisfied with her answer. His wife was a very respectful young lady, he didnât doubt her answer at all.
(Your name) narrowed her eyes at Cedric. Cedric couldnât be jealous, could he? It wasnât his place after years of being together without him ever caring about her personal life or feelings.Â
âItâs cold. Iâm ready to head back inside.â The couple made their way back in, unaware that Etrian had overheard their conversation.Â
The silver haired man determined to have (your name) change her mind about him.
.Â
.Â
.Â
Etrian had found out many things about (your name) over the last few weeks heâs been staying in the Lancasterâs palace.Â
(Your name) used to live in a tower here, she didnât like tea, she liked to write and read, her favorite food was (favorite food), she liked to eat pudding sometimes as well, her favorite color was (favorite color), and she was almost always alone.  Just like Etrian usually was.
Etrian was thrilled to be finding out all this information from the maids who were more than thrilled to talk to him. The Duke was especially happy that one of the maids had even slipped up and told him that (your name) was trying to divorce the Duke. It made Etrianâs heart soar at the thought of (your name) being on the market for marriage.
It wasnât very hard for him to bribe one of the maids into sending that paper work to the emperor either. Which would make his end goal even easier to achieve.
Etrian peaked his head in the library, a smile on his face when he saw (your name) sitting in a chair, sketching some birds that sat in the window. Heâd have to add drawing to his mental list of her hobbies.
âHello, (your name).â (Your name) nearly jumped out of her shoes when Etrian snuck up behind her. One of his tentacles affectionately caressing her cheeks, something she tried to ignore.
âH-hi, Etrian.â (Your name) responded quietly. Placing her pencil down on the table.
âI havenât seen you in a minute. I missed seeing you around.â (Your name) tried to hold her tears in when his tentacles slowly began to wrap around her body, caressing her affectionately.Â
Over the course of Etrianâs stay, sheâs noticed that his tentacles tend to tell his emotions. She could tell when he was excited, upset, annoyed, happy, or even sad. And the tentacles were especially fond of her, touching her any chance they got, much to her displeasure.
âIâve been around. Iâve just been spending a lot of time with my husband is all.â (Your name) tried not to flinch when she saw the tentacles suddenly point at her like swords. Itâs seems she upset Etrian by mentioning Cedric. âI didnât mean to neglect you.âÂ
The tentacles instantly relaxed, going back to their idle position of affectionately caressing her.
âHow about you draw me?â Etrian asked, a soft smile on his lips. He really wanted to know how (your name) saw him.Â
(Your name) smiled, opening a new page to her sketchbook, her body shaking when Etrian took a seat in front of her. The black tentacles retracting into themselves, as if they too, were folding together like his black gloved hands on the table.
(Your name) shakily got to work. Tears gathering in her eyes as she continued sketching the monster she saw in front of her.
Etrian frowned at her nervous expression. Why was she so nervous? Didnât she understand that they were soulmates because she could see him?
(Your name) glanced up, her face going pale when she saw two tentacles directly pointed at her eyes. The tentacles opening up to reveal two icy blue eyes staring directly at her.Â
Etrian smiled brightly. She finally made eye contact with him-
A lord thump was heard, (your name) had fallen out of her chair. Etrian quickly rose up, his hand grasping (your name)âs shoulders, helping her up.Â
âAre you alright, (your name)?â His eyes widened at the drawing that she had made so far. A dark octopus like head sat on top of his body, a deranged smile crawling on Etrianâs lips. He was so excited. She could see him.
âI-Iâm sorry, Etrian. I⌠I need to go.â (Your name) stuttered out before she grabbed her book. âIâll see you around!â
Etrian could only watch as she took off, his blue eyes glancing at the pencil she had dropped in excitement.
She could see him⌠she could see him. The real him. The monstrous curse his mother and him both had.Â
Etrian picked up the discarded pencil, blue eyes glancing around the library, making sure no one was watching him.Â
Etrian then placed the pencil in his mouth, suckling on the wooden utensil as his eyes rolled back in his head. Etrian wondered how her fingers would taste in his mouth when he-Â
Oh he was getting a little too far ahead of himself. He needed to calm down a bit before revealing his insatiable lust for her.
A very disturbed Cedric stood outside of the library. Why in the world was Etrian eating a pencil?
The dark haired Duke now more determined than ever to keep Etrian away from his wife. By all means necessary.Â
.Â
.Â
.Â
(Your name) laid in her bed. Her form covered in a lightweight, white gown.  It was a little chilly at night, but nothing she couldnât manage. It was the feeling of eyes on her that she couldnât shake off.Â
(Your name) slowly rose from the bed, shutting the curtain to her balcony. The feeling still not leaving her. Perhaps she was being paranoid after the library incident.
(Your name) made her way back to bed, the duchess pulling as many blankets as she could on top of herself. Maybe if she went to sleep, sheâd be able to relax?Â
As (your name) drifted off, she failed to notice a body laying under her bed. A certain silver haired man crawled out from underneath her bed before he stood over her, blue eyes greedily taking in the sight before him.
Tentacles gently began to caress her body, a soft groan leaving her throat before she unconsciously cuddled into the warm appendages, causing a smile to crawl on Etrianâs face.Â
He knew she would grow used to him. Maybe if he started visiting her every night, sheâd stop fearing him as much. Etrian reached a hand out to brush some of her hair out of her face.Â
His soulmate was so pretty and cute⌠he couldnât wait to steal her away from hereâŚ
Etrian hummed before walking over to her little desk in the corner. The male setting down a small (favorite flavor) pudding on her desk.Â
Hopefully sheâd like his little surprise for her.
.Â
.Â
.Â
(Your name) had terrible nightmares last night about a certain tentacle man. Her body covered in a light sheen of sweat.
âMy lady, your husband would like to have breakfast with you.â One of the maids said at the door, the maidâs eyes widening at the helping of pudding on (your name)âs desk. âDid you order pudding last night?â
âPudding?â (Your name) furrowed her brow in confusion before her eyes widened in shock at the (favorite flavor) pudding that sat on her desk. âI didnât ask for puddingâŚâ
(Your name) smiled softly. Maybe Cedric had gotten her some. He has been a lot more attentive lately.Â
âTell him Iâll be there. I just have to clean up a bit.â
The maid nodded before heading off, leaving (your name) to wonder who left her the mystery pudding.
.Â
.Â
.Â
âThank you for the pudding, Cedric.â Cedric furrowed his brow in confusion at (your name)âs statement. âIt was a nice sweet treat to have after a nightmare last night.â
âPudding? I never sent you pudding.â (Your name)âs face turned pale at Cedricâs words, a concerned look now on Cedricâs face as well.Â
âThen who knew I liked pudding and even my favorite flavor?â (Your name) nervously glanced over to the side. A certain man with a black octopus head, began to flail around excitedly before holding its tentacles like a shy school girl. And why were they slightly wet this time?
Cedric followed her gaze, his eyes narrowing at the stoic Duke. There was no way Etrian was holding a torch for his wife right? Etrian wouldnât sneak into her room to drop off pudding⌠no. Etrian was eating a pencil the other day. There was a chance Etrian was weird enough to break into a ladyâs room.
âGood morning, Duke and Duchess Lancaster.â Etrian bowed to the other dukes, his blue eyes studying Cedric face while his tentacles excitedly rubbed (your name) face. âI will be heading back to my empire in a week. I had a lovely stay here.â
âIâm happy to hear that, Duke Graham.â Cedric gave Etrian a tight lipped smile, red eyes focused on the uncomfortable expression on (your name)âs face.Â
âI also heard a fun little rumor during my stay here.â Etrian placed a hand over his chin, an amused expression on his face. âI heard you two are getting a divorce.â
âThat isnât going to happen now-â
âWell you shouldâve told that one little maid. Seems she sent the paperwork over to the emperor-â Cedric quickly rose to his feet, his loud voice booming at the staff to quickly intercept the letter to the emperor.
Etrian and (your name) now the only two left in the dining room. Etrian turned his head towards (your name), causing her to gulp in fear.
âYouâll be single by the end of this week and Iâll be leaving home. When the emperor gets that letter, youâll be demoted to a commoner.â Etrian cooed, his tentacles tightly wrapping around (your name), Etrian pulling her hand up to his face. Her body flinching when she felt his soft lips press against her hand. âSo why donât you become my wife? You wonât have to live as a commoner then and Iâll treat you well. Plus you can see what no one else canâŚâ
  âWhat?â
âDonât play dumb. You can see me. The real me. And I can show you pleasure youâve never felt before. Just think about it. I have 8 extra appendages compared to the average man.â Etrian whispered in her ear. âIâm also one of the richest men in the four empires. Youâll never have to struggle or starve again.â
âWhy me?â (Your name) whimpered, the tentacles slowly moving lower on her body, a few teasingly squeezing her legs and hips.
âBecause you can see me just like my dad can see my mom. Donât you get it? Weâre soulmates, baby.â
(Your name) nearly cried when he pulled away. The tentacles smoothing out the wrinkles in her clothes.
âJust think about it, okay?â Etrian smiled, the tentacles flailing around excitedly. âI promise youâll be very happy.â
âYou bastard!â An angry Cedric hissed, a fist colliding into Etrianâs face, the silver haired man barely moving. The tentacles now pointing at Cedric like swords, causing (your name) to freeze in terror. âWhy would you do that?! You sent that letter a week ago-â
âYou donât appreciate your wife. I found all those letters, Cedric.â A taunting chuckle escaped Etrianâs throat, the tentacles sharpening as they prepared to strike Cedric at any moment. âYouâve probably never even touched her-â
âPlease stop!â (Your name) stood in between the two, tears cascading down her face. Cedricâs heart clenching at her terrified expression. It was just an argument, why was she so scared? âIâll go with you. Just please donât hurt Cedric. PleaseâŚâ
Cedric froze when he saw the thrilled smile on Etrianâs face. Leather gloves hands held (your name) face with such tenderness, it made Cedric sick to his stomach. Â
âIâll make you so happy. Youâll never be sad again.â Etrian cooed, his blue eyes gleaming at Cedric. âYou can stay in my room for the time being seeing to it that youâre now a single woman. Iâll get you a nice pretty ring when we reach my empire.â
âWhat does he mean (your name)? Youâre not going to marry him are you?â Cedric froze at the defeated look on (your name)âs face. Her (eye color) orbs tiredly glancing at Cedric.Â
âIâm sorry, Cedric.â Cedric could only hug himself as he watched his wife be dragged away by Etrian. The silver haired Duke excitedly droning on and on about how much she was going to love their new life together.
.Â
.Â
.Â
Cedric peaked through the doorway of (your name) and Etrianâs room. His heart clenching when he saw how he tenderly held her in his arms.
It wasnât fair⌠if Cedric never messed up, she wouldâve never met Etrian⌠she wouldâve never divorced him⌠theyâd still be happyâŚ
But were they ever happy? No⌠Cedric couldnât remember the last time they shared a smile together or even a dance. Cedric never really deserved her⌠but he didnât think Etrian did either.
.
.Â
.Â
Cedric could only watch as (your name) and Etrian headed off to the northern empire in a carriage together. The silver haired man fretting over her every need while Cedric could only watch from his studyâs window in utter distaste and envy.
âMy lord, she left you a sketchbook.â Cedric glanced at the book, tears gather in his eyes as he looked at all the intricate drawings of birds. The swans being his favorite.
The last drawing was what made Cedricâs blood run cold. A terrifying eldritch monster with a black octopus head over Etrianâs body stared back at him, a small note in the bottom of making a shiver run down Cedricâs spine.
âI can see him, Cedric. He likes that I can see him. Help me.â
Now Cedric knew why she was so terrified of Etrian⌠it was because he was a monster.
.Â
.Â
.Â
âI canât wait for you to meet my mother.â Etrian cooed, his tentacles excitedly flailing around the carriage. One grasping (your name)âs chin. âYouâll like her.â
â(Your name)⌠are you sad?â Etrian asked, the male grasping her hands in his gloved ones. âYou wonât ever feel like nothing here. Iâll treat you to whatever you like.â
(Your name) could only fully glance out the window. Her heart aching as she began to miss Cedric. She hoped he would at least be happyâŚ
A tentacle suddenly gave her a tight squeeze while another forced her head to look at Etrian. Smooth lips pressing against her own, her body shaking in fear as the tentacles began to grope her body.
Etrian pulled away, her eyes widening when she finally got to see some semblance of a face on the man. A smile crawling on Etrianâs face.
âThere. Donât think of other men around me. I donât like it.â
(Your name) could only silently cry as Etrian continued to press kisses on her face. His lips burning her with the  passion he held for her.
âWeâre going to have our wedding in a few days time once we arrive. Is there somewhere youâd like to go? Or something youâd like to do when we get there?â
âIâm alright for now. Thank you, Etrian.â (Your name) politer responded, folding her hands in her lap nervously.Â
Etrian smiled before continued to excitedly chatter on about the wedding. His tentacles dancing around excitedly.
.Â
.Â
.Â
A regal woman with long silver hair and bright blue eyes stood outside of the Graham palace. Her cold gaze focusing on the carriage that had arrived.Â
Former Duchess Guinevere had gotten the news that her son had found a bride while he was in the southern empire. She just didnât think her son would latch onto the other dukeâs former wife so quickly.
Her eyes glared at the pretty young woman who exited the carriage, her eyes widening when she saw her sonâs tentacles all over the girl. The girl subtly trying to push them off. Her son had found his soulmate⌠Etrian had found his soulmate!
A bright smile was on the former duchessâs lips, the servants immediately blushing and whispering to each other. Guinevere never smiled and here she was smiling at the fiancĂŠe her son had brought.
âWelcome home, son. I see you brought me home a daughter as well.â Guinevere smiled, her blue eyes gazing intensely at the trembling woman who wouldnât look her in the eye. Was it a possibility she could see Guinevereâs true form as well? How interestingâŚ
(Your name) tried her best not to cry at how much larger the octopus like creature that Etrian called his mother was. She was terrified at how the other womanâs tentacles were poking her face as well.
âItâs very nice to make your acquaintance, duchess.â
A hearty laugh let the womanâs throat, the regal woman gesturing for her servants to make her new family member feel welcome.
   âPlease. Call me mother.â
.
.Â
.Â
(Your name) tried her best not to cry at the feast Etrianâs family held for them. Etrianâs motherâs tentacles were all over the former Duke. Who didnât seem to mind as much as (your name) did.
âWelcome, my dear. I see youâre still getting used to Etrianâs⌠quirks.â The former Duke, Rolfe, smiled at the young couple. His eyes narrowing at his son intensely staring at (your name). âEtrian, Iâd like for you to start a toast for your lovely fiancĂŠe here.â
Etrian quickly sprang to his feet, one of his gloved hands holding (your name)âs. While to other held up a glass of Chardonnay.
âIâd like to raise a toast to my lovely fiancĂŠe, (your name). I cannot wait to be wed to such a lovely girl who can stand to be around the real me.â No she could not. (Your name) was doing her best not to pass out at the table right then and there at all the eyes (and tentacles) that were on her.Â
â(Your name), my dear. Iâm so happy my son seems so fond of you. He was such a lonely boy growing upâŚâ Guinevere sighed, her tentacles cradling her body as she continued to talk about Etrian. âHe loves reading all the time. I swear he loved books more than his own mother-â
âMother. Please. Youâre embarrassing me.â (Your name) could only smile politely as Etrianâs tentacles pulled her closer to him. The male pressing a kiss to her head.Â
Guinevere only smiled all knowingly at her son and husband. Rolfe sighing before gazing at the young couple. âYou both have our blessing. We can have the wedding as soon as youâd like-â
âTomorrow.â Etrian stated boldly, causing his father to laugh.
âImpatient just like your mother was.â (Your name) could only watch as Rolfe tenderly caressed his wifeâs affectionate tentacles. âIâll send some dress makers down to your room tonight then.â
âDear, remember when we were young?â The older couple soon got into a private and affectionate banter. The two giggling and whispering to each other like a young couple in love.Â
âSee? Youâll be happy here.â Etrian stated, the young Duke pulling out (your name)âs chair. âHow about we go on a walk while those two continue to flirt?â
(Your name) nodded, hesitantly taking Etrianâs hand as the much taller male lead her out of the dining room.
Her octopus fiancĂŠ motioning to the portraits on the wall of the most beautiful family sheâs ever seen. Rolfe being the only one she recognized in the portraits.
  âWho are they?â
âYou donât recognize your own fiancĂŠ?â Etrian chuckled as he pointed to the tall handsome man with long silver hair in the portrait. âIâm right there or can you only see these?â
(Your name) tried not to squeal when the tentacles starting tickling her, trying her best not to smile at how playful Etrian was being.
  âI⌠I can only see those.â
Etrian suddenly pulled her to himself, pressing a long kiss to her left collarbone.
âMy mother said my father finally saw what she truly looked like on their wedding night. So maybe youâll just have to wait till then to see me.â
(Your name) smiled, casting one last look at the handsome man in the portrait. There was no way that person and this tentacle abomination were the same person.
But then again, Rolfe seemed super into Guinevere with or without her tentaclesâŚ
.Â
.Â
.Â
(Your name) stood at the alter across from a more than eager Etrian. The tentacles on his head flailing around excitedly while also trying not to touch her until after the ceremony was over.
âYou may kiss the bride-â the marriage officiant didnât even get to finish his words before Etrian pulled (your name into a passionate kiss, (your name) shutting her eyes so she didnât have to see how the tentacles were running themselves down every inch of her body.
The crowd going wild at how happy Etrian seemed, much to the dismay of Duke Lancaster who sat the farthest away from the ceremony. The Duke fiddling with a dried sprig of babyâs breath. He was here for closure but he didnât want to accept the fact that his wife had practically been forced to marry some sort of tentacle monster.
Etrian pulled away before scooping (your name) up in his arms as the crowd cheered for their union. The silver haired Duke giving Cedric a victorious smirk.
Etrian had won. (Your name) was his wife now. He even had something planned for Cedric as well. Something that would make sure that Duke get over (your name) for good.
.Â
.Â
.
Cedric groaned, red eyes widening as he realized he was bound and gagged in a chair. The Duke of Lancaster nervously glancing around until he saw Etrian standing in front of him. The silver haired Duke giving Cedric a smirk.
âIâm going to let you watch our wedding night.â Etrian smirked, causing Cedric to scream at him through the gag, only for no sound to come out. âAnd maybe if youâre good, Iâll even let you in. I feel kind of bad for stealing your wife but Iâm not opposed to sharing her.â
Cedricâs red eyes widened when Etrian pulled out a syringe. The dark haired Duke thrashing in his restraints, causing Etrian to shush him.
âItâs just a very strong aphrodisiac. I want you to feel everything and I also gave some to (your name) as well. I want both of you to be as aroused as possible. Plus youâll be able to see what she can see while youâre on these drugs.â
No⌠he didnât mean. Cedric gasped when Etrian stabbed the needle into his bare leg, pupils going wide at the true form of Etrian being revealed to him.
âGod. Iâm going to love this.â
Cedric could only slightly struggle, the friction from the rope turning him on. The male watching helplessly as (your name) stumbled into the room. The poor girl a panting mess as Etrian slowly began to toy with the lacy white undergarment that hid her body from Cedricâs eyes.
âLook, (your name). I brought your ex-husband here to watch as I defile you.â A sharp gasp left (your name)âs throat when two of Etrianâs tentacles squeezes her chest, the poor girl panting as Etrian ran his hands down her hips and dipped by her privates. âWeâre gonna give him a show, okay? And if youâre both good, Iâll let him fuck you too.â
Cedric gasped when the tentacles suddenly ripped apart the lingerie on (your name)âs body his greedy eyes taking in the soft curves of her bare body. His head spinning with lust at the thought of being able to touch his wife.
Etrian suddenly wrapped two tentacles around her wrists, holding them in place as he positioned himself behind her. (Your name) moaning loudly at how rough Etrian was being.Â
âWhat do you say, (your name)?â
  âPlease.â
  âPlease what?â
âPlease⌠take me, Etrian.â Etrianâs pink tongue darted out to lick her tears away, causing (your name) to blush. Right now she was able to see Etrianâs human face while under the influence of the aphrodisiac, much to Etrianâs joy.Â
âGood girl. Youâre such a good girl, (your name).â Etrian sheathed himself in one thrust in (your name) a strangled cry escaping her throat as he started to pound into her like a madman. âShit. Look at how well you take it.â
âAh! Ah! Ah!â (Your name) began to cry as she felt her body being pounded into and Cedricâs eyes on her. âIt feels so good!â
âDoes it? How about this?â (Your name) began to cry as she felt Etrianâs tentacles rub against her clit, practically seeing stars at the intensity they were going.
âEtrian! Iâm going to-â Etrian tightly grasped (your name) body. The white haired man releasing deep inside of her as (your name) rode out her orgasm. The Duke kissing her face as he turned to look at Cedric who had a mess between his legs as well.
âYouâre a sick freak, Cedric. Getting off watching another man fuck your wife.â
Etrian cut Cedricâs binds with one of his tentacles before motioning over to the moaning mess that was (your name). âHave at it.â
Cedric slowly rose up before greedily pressing kisses onto (your name)âs bare skin. The dark haired Duke slipping himself into her with ease. His pale hand grasping her hips tightly as he drilled into her doggy style.
âFuck. I love you, (your name).â Cedric cried as he started to go into a brutal pace. âWe could make this work right? A throuple?â
(Your name) cried and moaned as Cedric continued to pound into her poor abused body. Etrian placing his thumb in her mouth as he stroked his cock in another hand.
âShhh. How about you put me in your mouth while he has his fun. Itâll be nice to have something in your pretty mouth.âÂ
(Your name) could only nod her head as Cedric continued to pound into her. His balls slapping roughly into her ass as she started choking on Etrianâs cock.
âLook at that. Such a good girl taking two cocks. Youâre gonna be both of our wife. Itâll be fun wonât it?â Etrian cooed as Cedric started to cry.
âIâm gonna cum. Fuck. Iâm gonna get you pregnant, (your name).â Cedric threw back his head as he came deep inside (your name) the other Duke panting as he collapsed beside (your name), who continued to suck off Etrian.
âLook at us, (your name). All three of us are practically insatiable.â Etrian cooed as he watched Cedric start eating (your name) out.Â
âI told you Iâd make you happy here.â Etrian cooed, (your name) pulling herself away from his cock to whisper.
âYes I love it here, Etrian. I love you and Cedric so much. Ah!âÂ
âSuch a good girl.â Etrian cooed, his tentacles wrapping around (your name) as he continued to play with her body. âYouâre gonna be pregnant with twins by the time weâre finished with you.âÂ
âThank you⌠thank youâŚâ (your name) cried as she felt her body be flipped over by Cedric who decided he was going to go for another round.Â
âIsnât she such a good girl, Cedric.â Cedric nodded his head as he started pressing hot kisses on (your name)âs body.
âYou should be happy to know that you two never actually divorced and now the both of us are married to her. My empire just allows polyamory so itâs easier for us to have fun here.â
âIsnât that fun, Cedric? Weâll all be one big happy family.â Etrian soon pushed (your name) onto Cedricâs lap, who was still pounding into her like a madman.
Etrian positioned himself behind (your name), a wicked smile on his beautiful face.
âNow letâs see how well you can handle two cocks in one hole.â

What We Want - Chpt. 8 - Jason Fucking Todd
In Which A Romantic Breaks The Universe
(Yandere!batboys x f!reader) 18+ MDNI!
SUMMARY
Another lonely birthday, another empty year. You miss your family. You're late for your bills and rent, and even then, you got robbed last Tuesday.
Still, you buy yourself a cupcake, because you need it. I mean, hey. What's dessert for if not to get over cheating boyfriends and dead relatives?
As you blow out the candle, watching the clock switch from 11:59 pm to midnight of the next day, you make a wish.
And because the world doesn't like to make much sense, it comes true. Your life is suddenly flipped on a dime, and you're stuck trying to catch up with it. Fantasy becomes reality. You're a Wayne now, apparently. Or you used to be. You're loved, you're rich, you're talented and powerful.
Well, sort of. Careful what you wish for, right?
(TRIGGER WARNINGS AND MASTERLIST HERE)
PREV - NEXT
Well, look on the bright side of things. Youâre not crying right now. Thatâs nice. Youâre not an intern anymore. Thatâs nice. You struggle to think of anything else. Oh yeah, youâre rich! Thatâs also nice. Youâre not dead. Nice.
This is kind of pathetic. You just feel bummed after having to break up with George a second time. And getting smacked right in the face by him. Which you know, anybody would be, you think. You donât think a single soul has ever known the George Lancaster Break-Up Special more than once. And you didnât think anyone would be stupid enough to fall for that asshole more than once.
You couldnât fake a brave face anymore, you just didnât have the energy for it.
âŚAnd letâs not forget almost dying via Joker goon. Not even the man himself, just a random lackey. You think of how he literally disappeared in front of your eyes, and decide you are going to stop thinking. Itâs doing you no good anyway.
Instead, you just start walking. Letting your feet and your intimate knowledge of Gothamâs streets, even in this area you donât often frequent, guide you. You find yourself at the train station. With little consideration, you buy a ticket to the southern part of the city. The bad side of town, the docks, where your apartment used to be.
You feel like a little rat scurrying back into the sewers as you hop on the subway, tucking yourself in between people who donât recognise you, probably because of your general dishevelment.
Shoulders knocking against strangers, you feel the most at home since this whole disaster started. You stare across the train car, watching a baby babble to its mother. It catches your eye, gives you a big toothless smile, and some snot dribbles into itâs mouth. The mother notices and cleans the baby up with a tissue. When she catches you staring, you give a very awkward but friendly smile, and she smiles back.
A tiny weight lifts off your shoulders. Surrounded by the chaos of Gotham, as the subway exits the tunnels and heads up onto the sky rails, you find yourself warm by the rays of sun through the clouds. The view is beautiful, as it always is. Usually, youâd be looking at your phone, too busy to enjoy the sights. But it really is beautiful.
Itâs only when you hear the announcer calling out that you realise you did this for a reason, and dart out of your seat and through the narrowly closing doors. The metal closes behind you with a small hiss. The Docks station, for most people, would be one of the better Gotham train stations. Newly built, and with all the tourist money it was clean. Well, clean as it could get. Youâd read some article about the bacteria the rats were carrying being not found anywhere else on earth, and youâd decided to stop reading articles.
Anyway, for you, even the shining marble of the station was a sad sight. Because you only ever came here on your very worst days.
This seemed like one of them.
The familiar streets flit past you, barely something youâre even cognisant of. This part of the city was mostly new, the concrete fresh under your feet instead of littered with potholes. Still, it wasnât at the centre of the blast radius, so it hadnât been totally demolished.
No, that was just up ahead. And like everything else in this weird new world, you immediately noticed something different. Where your family had died was⌠still there, for some reason.
With confusion, exhaustion, and no small bit of despair, you stop in the middle of the pathway outside the remnants of what used to be an old diner and was now just a pile of rocks. Some very charred rocks. Looking at the wreckage, you raise your brows. Its crumbling form is still under construction after all these years. The yellow caution tape is only a deterrence to you because you donât want to end up on the gossip reels for a second time today. Looking around, you find yourself further confused. Lots of other parts of the pier had been redeveloped, but this piece of the puzzle still lay bare.
It didnât, in your home, your world. It had been replaced with high-rise apartments, and since they were so close to the water, so pretty and new, you had no hope of affording them. It probably wouldnât be very good for your mental health even if you could. Still, youâd taken many walks past the street. Enjoyed the little bit of dirty white concrete that had survived. You and your siblings had signed your names into it, and youâd stroked the sidewalk like the weirdo you were many times.
Like you did today. And today, for some reason, the rest of it was here. Untouched. A remnant of the disaster. As you run your thumb along the sharp edge of Julieâs J, you find yourself once again lost in your memories. They were like honey traps to you these days.
The mum-and-pops diner had been run by your uncle. Itâd been in the family for three generations, and he was incorrigibly proud of it. Youâd all had your birthday parties there, because it was free and you were poor. It wasnât like your uncle would let you pay for the food anyway, it was just one of the few times Mum could stand the generosity. She didnât like it when you had disappointing birthdays, and no matter how much you tried to fake your happiness, she could always see to your core. Eventually, you and your siblings all gave up on trying.
You were late. You were often late, but this time it was⌠it was the difference between life and death. If youâd been a few blocks further, a little bit earlier, youâd probably be dead too. Or at least have some serious hearing loss instead of just suffering mild tinnitus.
You had felt more than seen the destruction. The earth had rumbled, and a deafening roar had swept through the streets. You remember falling to your knees, the worry about being late morphing to worry for your best clothes to a true terror when you realised where the blast had come from.
When you realised your family was in the epicentre.
You sometimes wish you were on time that day. That youâd gotten to see them all, even if you went with them. It didnât sound so bad, really. At least you wouldnât be alone. Hmm, you should probably stop thinking like that. Or maybe go to a therapist about it.
Not that you could afford it. Oh, right. Rich now. That was really taking some getting used to.
You wonder if people who won the lottery felt the same way. Probably not, because the rest of the world reflected the changes the person felt. Theyâd have to go pick up the check, go to the bank, and if they let their family and friends know, deal with the consequences of that.
Youâd just woken up rich. No time to adjust, your new life was here and it was demanding your attention very loudly. And soup-ly, unfortunately. After a few minutes of staring blankly at the rubble, you look towards your left, where you know the Memorial awaits you. Itâs in the centre of the new shopping district, built on top of the bombed parts of Gotham. It sits right next to the water, the cold breeze a comfort that youâd turned to on more than one occasion.
Youâd feel bad if you didnât change your clothes. You told Grayson you would, and you already felt bad enough about... everything to do with him. You suppose he was your brother. Your ex-brother. Ex-step-brother. The ex-step-brother of a woman who you werenât.
Really, he was just a stranger. It seemed he didnât feel that way, though.
You start the walk towards the shopping district, and into the first clothes store you see. The prices on the tags would usually make you flinch, but well, it doesnât matter anymore. Nothing seems to matter. Your survival is now guaranteed, might as well wear some clothes that feel nice on your skin.
You walk out of that store looking like you just robbed it. Even the clerk had given you a weird look but accepted the black card tucked in your phone without much complaint. Itâs an improvement if a small one.
Once youâre done, like a moth to a flame, you drift towards the Memorial centre. Youâre following all the steps you used to in the past, but somehow, it all feels a bit alien. The world looks a little different, a little uncomfortable. Your shoes are worn in, and yet they still feel too tight.
Uncanny valley. You feel unwelcomed here, unwanted. Like the very earth can tell that thereâs something wrong in this scene, some intruder. You ignore the feeling as best you can.
The Memorial is just as unfamiliar as the diner was, maybe even more. You know that your mother was a Wayne before she died. You know that. But still seeing your familyâs framed photos, right alongside Jason's is so shocking you nearly jump. It takes a moment of wide-eyed staring before you can manage to get past that. When you do, for some reason you still go back to your old habits. You walk by them, the bouquets and to where their names used to be in thin letters.
You count with your fingers, finding the fifty-second line.
A manâs name replaces the spot where your motherâs is. The little grooves the oil in your fingers had left behind were gone, and instead was sharp stone like when the monument was first erected. It cuts at your fingers. It no longer welcomes your touch.
James Whitaker. Thatâs the name of the man who took their spot.
You can already feel a rising obsession with the random dead man. If you were going to psycho-analyse yourself, youâd recognise that you didnât feel that the images of the Waynes youâd created were no longer real, no longer safe to your escapist mindset. Youâd realise, that this was all pretty unhealthy, and you really, really needed therapy.
Instead, you give the guy your condolences and start reading the other plinths. They seem largely the same. Itâs not like you hadnât read all of these towers of stone at one point or another, your eyes glazing over the many, many names. So much devastation, all in one moment.
And still, this was not even a tenth of all the lives the Joker had taken. You kinda wanna go take a kick at one of the Bat signals littered around the city. Maybe thatâd make you less⌠broiling with incompetent rage.
Again, maybe you should just go to therapy. You should call Jeanine about that or something.
Eventually, you circle back to your family and Jasonâs shrines. You know, back then youâd been jealous that Jason Todd had been so well mourned. Youâd wished your family had gotten the same treatment.
Now, you⌠felt jealous again. Possessive, over their memory, their image. You didnât really like that random strangers that never knew them⌠knew them. That Sam always got As in English and Art class but would sometimes skip math and would hide in the bathrooms to do so. That Chasey had struggled with going to school because of her anxiety but kept going because she had a friend going through the exact same thing. That Julie was the ace of her schoolâs soccer team, and that sheâd almost gotten them to nationals even in the presence of all the super-rich schools in Gotham. That your Mum was a great cook but genuinely hated doing it, but for some reason, baking was her favourite thing even as she had never made a proper macaron.
They didnât know them. They knew their faces and a facsimile of them, but they didnât know them. It reminded you of the people at the orphanage. Nice, but not kind. Theyâd had their own lives, they didnât want some bratty, demented teenager who was going down and planning on taking everyone with her.
You really couldnât be happy, could you? Maybe you didnât know what you wanted. What you want now. What youâd wanted for a while, actually.
Ugh. You close your eyes and let out a deep, soul-shaking sigh. It takes a moment for you to shore up the willpower to open them again. Come on, flower shop, finish your weird little ritual then you can go home and hide for the next millenia.
The walk there is the same as always, if a little more morose. Itâs in a good spot, near the church just a block away and the memorial on its other side, as well as less sombre atmospheres down near the pier. Well, as little sombre as Gotham can manage.
You feel like you blink and youâre there. Too quickly, you find a rainbow of blooms in front of you, the scent of the blossoms washing over you. When you walk into the flower shop, the bell at the door rings the same as it always does. On autopilot, you walk over to the small, cheaper buds. Your hand clenches around the crinkly wrapping paper, a bundle of posies in your hand. You go to the counter with your prize in hand.
Larissa, the counter worker, smiles at you. Your breath hitches. Itâs a working smile, not one of the real, toothy ones she used to give you.
âOh wow, I thought all the posies had sold out. Lucky you!â
You think of something to say, but the moment passes and you donât. She rings you up, tells you the price, and when you pay, asks sweetly if you want a receipt.
She doesnât say your name. Doesnât acknowledge how you come here every week and buy this same handful of flowers. She doesnât ask about your job or the weather. She doesnât cheerfully tell you about how her apprenticeship is going, or about the next sweet thing her partner has done. No, she just stares at you, growing more uncomfortable the longer it takes for you to answer.
She doesnât even seem to recognise this other version of you. It feels like another string that tied you down to the earth has been snipped. You have an image in your head of a child losing a balloon, desperately grasping at the air. Youâre going to float up into the atmosphere, and then youâre going to pop.
You can see the foil glinting in the sunâs light, so, so clearly.
You squeeze your eyes shut, âYes, a receipt, please.â
Taking it blindly, you barely flutter your eyes open as you walk out of the shop. She didnât know you, didnât remember you. That doesnât matter, you tell yourself. You hadnât really known her. It doesnât matter. Thereâs no real difference, it doesnât matter.
Itâs okay, itâs okay, it never really mattered. You keep telling yourself this as you walk back over to the memorial. As you lay your flowers down with the others, the little posies are dwarfed by the other donations. It didnât matter. You didnât know her. None of this matters. Their flowers donât matter.
You donât matter. You hit that errant thought with a mental fly swatter.
Exhausted, you sit down next to the monument. You used to be able to lay your head on the stone, able to feel your family in the warmth it had absorbed in the sun. Now you just sort of, awkwardly reached out to the small bit of uncovered plinth at the side. You have to stick your hand through a wreath to do so.
Itâs not warm. You wonder if your family are sad. And then you wonder if youâre an idiot for attributing feelings to a literal rock.
After a while, you get up. Cross your arms. You stare at your family's portraits, eyes moving over their smiles. One by one. You recognise some of the photographs, those are your favourites. A smile cracks across your face when you see the picture of when Chasey lost her two front teeth. She still grins cheekily at the camera, uncaring for any changes to her appearance, as all kids shouldnât.
Your shoulders fall just the slightest bit when you see the picture of Jason Todd. Itâs one of his older pictures. Probably seventeen or something. Heâd always been a lovely boy when he was younger. And he still was up till he died but youâd always thought youâd seen something start to change in him. That sparkle of innocence, dulled, just the slightest.
And then heâd died. And youâd wondered if maybe heâd felt it was coming.
You certainly hadnât. It had been like a hurricane tearing through your life. Youâd ended up on the other side completely abandoned, the only friend whoâd bothered to keep seeing you being one whoâd learnt to dodge train ticket costs like a damn ninja. And youâd had to decide whether you could keep doing this, whether you even wanted to.
You were an obsessive creature by nurture. It had been all you could do to hang onto the Waynes, pretend they would love and care for you even if theyâd have never even noticed you in real life. You werenât sure that was strength or simple human survival. Dying was scary. Of course, you were scared of dying.
Your whole family had died. So, you told yourself, that Jason Fucking Todd would be sad if you killed yourself, and somehow, you had made it all these years.
And now here you were, and the Waynes did notice you in real life. You were important to them. You didnât want to be, but you were. And again, you have to ask yourself, what would Jason Todd ask of you? What would he want you to do now, in this impossible situation youâve found yourself in?
You stare at the picture. Stare at the way the sun hits his dark hair and blue eyes. Stare very, very hard. Like he might crawl out and give you a detailed list of what to do. Youâd really like a detailed list. Or any guidance at all. Maybe you could go hit up a seance or something.
Your head falls forward into your sun-warmed palms. This is so stupid. No answers are going to fall from the sky, you need to find them yourself. And youâre not going to find them here.
Someone walks up beside you to the old memorial, and you quickly tuck yourself back into an acceptable image. Fold in all the rough edges you can. A tall and well-built man, with a face mask, sunglasses and a trucker hat, he looks like he could be a celebrity or something. Someone important, much more than you.
And you werenât, not technically, at least. The universe had done the equivalent of a shelving error, and now here you goddamn were.
He does an odd pose next to you, something military-esque, where he clasps his hands together and bows his head. With a quick flick of your eyes you confirm, yes, his feet are equal with his shoulders. Itâs obvious that heâs paying his respects so you do your best not to judge him too hard.
And then he speaks to you.
âIâm sorry.â
You look up, startled and confused.
âFor your loss,â the deep voice finishes, jerking his head toward the pictures in front of the two of you.
âWha- oh uh, um,â you blink and then realise that this person has recognised you, which would make sense since you are literally in one of the photos in front of you, and manage to pull your fading conscious mind back together for a moment more.
âThank you, uh-â you stare at him a moment longer, âYou too?â
Almost worse than that time you told the barista who gave you your coffee you hoped she enjoyed hers too, but not quite. Well, you know, heâd probably lost someone here too. You donât know why heâd be here otherwise unless he wanted an autograph or something. The thought almost makes you laugh.
He snorts at your words. You donât know what to make of that.
He looks back down at the pictures and flowers. You think he does, at least, from the slight shifting of his head. Heâs kind of mysterious. Pair that with the deep voice, the muscular and tall physique, and youâre an odd mix of attracted and socially anxious. Not that youâre not always socially anxious, but this guy feels⌠strong. Dumb again, you can see his biceps from here butâŚ
You just canât quite shake it off. Strong. Strong.
âThey didnât deserve it, none of them did,â he speaks again, and you wonder what the fuck heâs going on about at all.
You admit, you sound a little bitter when you mutter, âWell, thatâs obvious.â
He lets out a bark of laughter, and you see his eyes flash to you from under his sunglasses. A shade of blue. Thereâs another odd pause, and then he turns to you. You donât know why heâs looking at you. He crosses his arms, and seems to size you up.
âWhat are you doing here?â he asks you like he knows you.
Your brow furrows. Okay, kind of losing any hotness points here. Bothering someone who was grieving couldâve been seen as rude from the very start, but youâd just thought he was weird. Now, you thought he was weird and rude.
ââŚPaying my respects. Obviously,â you gesture downwards, âMy mother, my siblings, andâŚâ
Well, how would you describe the relationship between you and Jason Todd now? He was still just a stranger to you and-
âWith who, that guy?â
Now, it isnât often that youâre stunned into silence, but at the moment you canât find it in you to do anything but stare and gape. Frankly, youâre astonished! Youâve never met anyone who spoke so rudely of the dead, and well, he couldnât have picked a worse person to do it in front of.
âExcuse me?â your voice canât seem to convey even half of your offence, even as you sound like youâre about ready to bite a second person for today. The man pauses like youâve surprised him, which- what the fuck is going on? Why do you feel like an alien crash-landed on Earth these days?
âNo, I just meant-â he huffs, shakes his head, and continues, his voice now offended too, âWhat the fuck am I saying? Yes, I did mean that. That little twerp was a naive idiot who was manipulated by the people he believed in most.â
You stare, absolutely speechless, as the stranger goes on a damn-fucking-near crazed rant about one of the people most important to you. Never met? Sure. Dead as hell? Absolutely. But still, he was one of your lifelines. Your candlelight in the dark, guiding your way even when you felt completely lost. And now heâs calling him a naive idiot? You can practically feel the steam coming out of your ears.
âHe changed nothing, made no difference in the end-â
âNothing?!â you practically shriek, finally able to find your voice just to use it to shout, âHe changed⌠so much! He donated millions of dollars, did heaps of charity work, was practically a treasure to our city⌠He made multiple homeless shelters, an orphanage, helped rehabilitate criminals and countless other things.â
Your fists are clenched tight enough that they shake. You hide them behind your back, but you still feel like he can probably see them. Your emotions are simmering too close to the surface, bubbling over and onto the floor. About to burn his sneakers to ash.
âYou seem like you care a lot,â he says, sounding reserved.
âOf course, I care.â
ââŚItâs just, you didnât seem the type, on the TV,â he keeps talking, poking at you for some god-awful reason, and you bark out a harsh laugh.
âMaybe people need to stop making so many fucking assumptions, then? It certainly hasnât gotten you anywhere,â you throw your hands up, damn sick of all the constant fucking surveillance youâre under. You can see why this version of you lost her mind. Youâre near about to as well.
He stares at you for a moment longer, and you start feeling too uncomfortable. Itâs a stupid and useless protectiveness that has you staying. Like heâll somehow try and harm the shrine to your people. Itâs happened before, Joker fanboys defacing it and such. This guy could be one of those bastards.
And yet⌠somehow you feelâŚ
âIâll keep that in mind,â he finally says.
âGood, you do that.â
âBut in the end, nothingâs really changed. Jokerâs still out and about, as you well know.â
You physically flinch like youâve been slapped. For a good minute there, all you can do is stare at him in disbelief. You raise one shaking fist, and lift one trembling finger, pointing. The man looks in the direction youâve pointed, and when he doesnât see anything, turns back to you. His sunglasses reflect the grey afternoon sun.
âGo,â you order, voice shaking just like the rest of you.
He just keeps staring at you. You wish heâd take off those dumb fucking glasses, so you could see this assholeâs face. Etch it into your mind. He doesnât move, doesnât say anything, doesnât take any action. He simply waits for you to⌠Well, you donât know what youâll do. You havenât known what youâd do since you left Dick behind two hours ago.
âYou need to go,â you say again, and again, he doesnât fucking move, âYou⌠thereâs⌠you have no right.â
You can hear the buzz of the city around you, the wind rushing by. His clothes rustle in the wind. Your voice sounds too loud in your ears, but he wonât just⌠he wonât leave. You donât want this stranger here, watching you. Judging you. Itâs allâŚ
âJason didnât do anything wrong,â you say, and you think to yourself, desperately, âI didnât do anything wrong.â
Thereâs a slight shift in the strangerâs posture. His shoulders tensed.
You think youâve offended him.
âThe Joker⌠Thatâs nobody's fault but the government for not just sucking it up and giving him the death penalty, or Batmanâs for not doing it himself a long time ago. Theyâre all fucking useless, but theyâre the ones who are supposed to be dealing with this!â you continue, your words growing more heated. Itâs only the already looming threat of an assault case that keeps you from shoving the guy. Not like youâd be able to move him an inch, of course, he was huge.
Youâre sure it would feel good, though.
âIt was never some random teenager's responsibility, and it wasn't mine either,â you say, but find yourself pausing for a moment when you hear the end of your sentence. It doesnât matter. Itâs not like it wasnât obvious anyway.
Youâd tied yourself and Jason up together in your head. To you, you were both two sides of the same coin. One foot in the grave. Youâve got one foot in the graveâŚ
âJason Todd was a good person, and he made the world a better place.â
You look down at the portrait of the boy, his toothy smile twisting at your heart. None of this was fair. None of this had ever been fair. Why was this guy acting like anybody here had ever been able to do anything about it? Like Jason shouldâve been smarter, and avoided a fucking bomb blast?
It was stupid. This was stupid, and you were over it. You were tired.
âAnd I miss him.â
Itâs quiet after you say that.
âI donât know how you can think itâs fair to act like his death was pointless when⌠of course it was, all of this was pointless,â you say, throwing your hands wide and gesturing to the entire memorial. âThis was a tragedy, but Jason was a victim. And Iâm sick of people like you who think they can decide whether someone elseâs life was lived right. Itâs not your damn right.â
âNow⌠fuck off!â you announce, and to your shock, he does. He fucks right off. The man gives you one last lingering look, and then turns and leaves without another word. Not like you needed them.
You huff out a shocked breath, and then turn back to the memorial.
The framed faces of your loved ones stare back at you, and for all you know itâs stupid, you canât help but feel embarrassed for the display. You know your mother wouldâve scolded you for your language, at least.
âSorry,â you say, and youâre unfortunately reminded of that irritating man again. Likely that wonât be the first time he pops up again in your head. He seemed well, insane. Which wasnât that odd in Gotham but⌠god, you just couldnât seem to let it go.
It pissed you off to high heaven. His rudeness was something youâd usually be able to shrug off, especially from some random stranger, but, but, but-! Argh, damn it all. And it wasnât like that was the first time you had had that sort of conversation, but it was certainly the first time someone had been so bold as to bring it up in front of your dead motherâs smiling face.
Earlier today had snuffed out the fire in you, but that encounter had been the spark to reignite it. More than that, actually. It had made you so damn pissed, made your blood boil in a way you just couldnât ignore, to the point that you wanted to prove him wrong.
Jason Todd had mattered and had made a difference and change in Gotham. He had made a change in you. You put your hands on your hips, stare down at the flowers, and make a decision.
Youâre going to fix your goddamn life. For Jason Fucking Todd.
Your body feels like shit, your brain feels like itâs stuffed with cotton wool, and yet this is the greatest opportunity youâve ever been given. You have a chance to save yourself, and save your friends, and fix all the tiny little problems in Gotham that youâve suffered through since childhood. Surely just throwing enough money at all your problems would fix some of them.
You were rich. If you couldnât fix your life with millions of dollars available, then you had no chance.
And yeah, you donât know what youâre doing. You know you canât really change what happened. Back then or even just a few days ago. But you hate that. You hate it so much. You hate how weak you are in the face of loss. How both then and now, thereâs nothing you can really do. And maybe if just out of spite, towards that asshat, Batman, Joker and everyone else, you want to make a change.
You want to be able to do something about it. You want it, so fucking bad.
First order of business?
âŚYou want more flowers.

dream team duo rambling again (our bad 4 tha spam but we luvvvvv ur stuff!!)
gyaru or influencer reader or even normal reader who intentionally has a specific way of speaking (valley girl, southern accent, Cajun accent, etc.) and then completely drops it to go off the grid??? that just seems so cool

A/N: Okay, buckle up! Cause y'all are adding the spin to my spiraling and I'm living for it!
A/N: Adding this to the concept list because I got carried away with this and will probably want to add to it at some point. Calling this Influencer!Reader.
Warnings: GN!Reader, subtle yandere themes

Neglected!Reader that starts filming Youtube videos or streaming in their room in the manor to cope with the loneliness. Only, rather than putting on a persona or costume, they just act like their genuine self.
They wear a certain style that they love and feel their best in. They have a distinct accent that they don't bother to hide when filming. They talk as loud or as soft as they want. They ramble and rave about their favorite things. And, people adore them for it.
Including the Bat Family.
But, no one makes the connection.
Outside of streaming, they were typical ordinary clothes that they don't feel like themselves in and try to hide their accent to sound more normal. All in the hopes of fitting in with the family and the Gotham.
The irony of trying so hard to make people like you only for you to fail to realize they already like you. Just not when you hide who you are.
Being blown off by members of the family, only because you have a video scheduled to post and for them to literally cut out time from their day just to watch it and be the first to comment.
Watching the usernames send you donations for your running away fund, only for them to be from the very people you want to run from.
It's not like the Bats realize who you are. They never spend time with you. They never notice you when you try to fit in with them. They've never even been in your room before. How could they know that their favorite person was literally right down the hall.
It isn't until you take a hiatus, telling your followers your finally moving and getting out of your hell hole that the pieces click.
Lets say, Tim gets itchy. (Going back to the idea of him using your videos to fall asleep.) He wants your voice back to soothe him. He needs his fix. And, lets face it, the others would only encourage it when they find out he's trying to track you down.
Imagine their horror when the puzzle comes together. That your their sibling. The one they've ignored. You live in the manor with them. But, wait. You said in your last video your moving? Wait! NO!
The rush down the hall to your empty room. Realizing they had seen the inside of it so many times, but had never actually been in it. Finding some of your old things left behind that had been in previous videos that you didn't bother to take. (They fight over them. They're sacred now.)
The had you. They had you right there in arms reach and they didn't hold you.
And, then you finally post another video. Thanking your fans for loving you when they couldn't. (But, their your fans too.)
They're gonna get you back though. Their you're biggest fans after all.
