There are journal articles coming out of the medical department at the Piltover Academy suggesting off-label use of existing medications for treating Fissure-related conditions. Viktor signs up for the drug trial; but the side effects are fucking brutal.

After just WAY too long threatening to write JayVik fic I finally come bearing fruit. Of course, it is nothing like I expected to write, but it was pulled out of me by circumstance and I wasn't going to fight the tide.

My darling wife has been dealing with the brutality of being diagnosed with, not one, but two rare autoimmune conditions in the past 6 months (plus the years of pain and discomfort while seeking the diagnosis in the first place).

Now that we know what is hurting her, we've embarked on the journey of trying to figure out a treatment plan that'll work for her. The problem is that drugs to treat Lupus and Behcet's Disease are kind of fucking awful; and my poor girl, who has already been contending with low appetite and fatigue just a matter of course, is now having to endure acute nausea on top of everything else.

Anyways: Viktor is a major comfort character for her, and she is the Viktor to my Jayce. So between processing my own feelings of powerlessness and my desire to take care of her, and projecting her ailments onto Viktor, this was a logical progression.
