An-An Lee with Yenisei's personality is such a calm and peaceful woman with the most savage comments if you bother her.

The hyperactive An-An Lee would return your comments with pettiness, but this An-An Lee would say some things that damn...

"Your job is not even a real job! Ghost hunting? Really?"

"I still win your year salary in a week"

It's more common to hear her speak in Cantonese, as well as her writing. She's still a little bit concerning sometimes, when she doesn't act up when she sees ghosts but instead efficiently and calmly.

"Good work today, now I must rest for a moment"

Yenisei with An-An Lee's personality does NOT fit her face.

A bright, hyperactive Yenisei with a big smile? Whose nightmare is that?

It's easier to find Yenisei swimming or just chilling above water during this period of time. She's just enjoying time in a very exciting way, catching fish with the help of Vila.

Yup, she burns her energy by running around, doing whatever activity that she finds amusing or water-related. It burns her adrenaline and also keeps her busy, so, why not?

She's far more affectionate, since she wouldn't really hug anyone before, unless protecting Bessmert and hand holding with Jiu counts, she rarely touches people. Which is why seeing her with an arm wrapped around Spathodea and a bright smile is so weird.

She's more active at night, a difference from her usual self, more active in the morning.

"Good evening Vertin! Are you ready to go swimming today?! Mm? Oh, don't worry, it's just a little fun!"

Mercuria and Ms. Newbabel is such a crazy concept ngl. You wanna put my baby with this absolutely gorgeous woman's personality?

Mercuria's eyes, usually just wandering around, suddenly fixated upon money and prices? Such a crazy concept ain't that right?

Mercuria doesn't really care much for prices or business and such, but if she has such sharp eyesight for the future and divination, she can certainly make a business out of it, can't she?

And well, prices are not cheap...

"If you wish to know about your future, you can come to me. You can always rely on my business."

Thank God she had no fixation for critters because she's making a lot of money from reading people's futures. At least she's making money out of her passion.

Ms. Newbabel with Mercuria's personality, freedom for the critter slaves.

She has such an amazing friendship with the critters and walks around freely through the woods of the wilderness with her two critter companions.

Since she doesn't do divination, she's just walking around with a bunch of critters after her with the most peaceful, totally-doesn't-smoke-weed vibe.

Eternity and Kanjira, the successful business woman and the shameless thief.

Eternity with Kanjira's personality would certainly be a deal. She's a dignified lady, a woman of money who holds herself higher than the rest due to this. To her, money is easy, and business is even more important than companionship.

So, when you see this dignified lady pickpocketing with a mischievous smile, you know right away that she's not herself.

Eternity is mischievous, a trickster by birth, but unfortunately, she's also naive and driven by her own emotions. Not like she shows it or anything, but it's not that hard to confuse her if you know what you're looking for.

Surprisingly, she keeps herself spotless just so she can offer beautiful rocks or distract people before stealing their wallet or any priced possession.

"No, don't look at me. This wallet is just... A similar design to yours. ID? It doesn't have one!"

Kanjira with Eternity's personality would almost be herself but if she had been taught business.

She's a thief, but with Eternity's successful, prideful and tricky personality, she's amazing at business.

Coming from below and using such a thing to trick people for money, such as beautiful things made by herself or things she had stolen before, she's able to buy a significant amount of money.

And commit tax fraud.

Indeed, she's a smart young lady who uses her poor, haggard looks to steal, but in prices. Different to stealing wallets, she'll make you feel robbed by selling you a flower crown for the shocking amount of 55 Sharpodontry.

Oh, but you wouldn't complain to an orphan, would you? With such a haggard look and background, wouldn't you offer those 50 Sharpodontry?

An evil, greedy trickster.

Charlie and Blonney is pretty interesting, considering what you guys have told me to do (I'm building her bond atm), Charlie is a very interesting and sad character. So...

Blonney with Charlie's personality is a mess, something she could have been if only she had been allowed to have her old, human forced personality. Rationality and all.

A shy lady who uses her jacked to cover herself as much as possible to not catch anyone's eyes. You have seen her posters of horror movies? N-no, those are not hers!

Shy, reclusive and antisocial. She wouldn't speak much, nor would she appreciate visits unannounced. She prefers just, staying inside.

When it comes to battle, she's more herself. Smashing the enemies, using her arcane skill to launch monsters at them and destroy them.

Her confidence in battle is frightening. She uses such tactics to scare, creep and to frighten the enemy by using her horror movie addiction and creativity. She's aggressive, putting on a show as she destroys every single enemy.

That laugh she has in one of her lines? She's laughing like that all the way with a scary look in her eyes.

"H-huh? Uhm, these posters? No- no, Nono those aren't mine! These are from, uh, Horropedia!"

Charlie with Blonney's personality? A harsh change.

She would attempt to act naturally, if you know what I mean. Less of a shy or confident circus director and more of a... I suppose an idgaf-er. Which she isn't.

She's pretending to not care, her business are certainly not anyone else's, but it's hard to let go of that shell.

This Charlie is determined, at least. She's confident in her plays and her actions, but with Blonney's doubts and her self-esteem, mixed with Charlie's own doubts, she's just putting on a confident mask.

"Would you lock the door? I'm in the middle of a play. ... No, I don't, I don't care, if you don't have something important to say, leave."

If there's one thing I've seen over and over again in the Dracula Daily + Re: Dracula fandom, it's the desire for an animated adaptation. Not of media-inspired-by, but of Dracula itself. And so, I've made:

...something that is decidedly not animated.

Yet.

I'm hoping to get Dracula Reanimated (tentative name) in exactly 1 year from now, by the end of DracDaily's 2025 run, perhaps even the beginning of it if I'm really good. But in all honesty, it could take till 2026 given the teeny complication that 1) I've no animation skills whatsoever 2) fulltime job.

So, I hope you'll stay around for the next 2 years at least to see this completed.

In the meanwhile, if you'd like to support a project by actual professionals, try @theholmwoodfoundation . Holy shit I love your Dirk interpretations, it's so true and I could talk about this shit forever. I feel like another part of his character that people seem to forget (along with Roxy for some reason) is that he's from the future in solitude in an apocalyptic wasteland. I just see that part of his character always removed which is disappointing because I feel like that's a pretty big part, especially regarding his themes around technology, his brother's theme of Time, his own isolation, and how he plays in the vastness of the universe and spacetime.

Art I drew related to the subject because I like to respond to asks with art.

But absolutely. I certainly understand where the lack of discussion over his isolation + upbringing comes from, considering a majority of the fanbase that I have seen builds their ideas based on their own version of postcanon. I’m not entirely sure how that would be fixed, but certainly even in the somewhat recent past I would see a lot more content regarding his upbringing both literally and symbolically. I don’t have much to add regarding the things you’ve mentioned, because they just are what they are. Dirk being confined to a singular room left to him by a father figure he never met, in a future where the only other person left on the planet is someone he cannot pursue a relationship of because of himself, with purely 3 robots to keep him companion, one being an exact replica of his own brain who is *also* trapped inside a pair of glasses, is about as literal as it gets to me.

The contrast to me involving the flooded, organic world in comparison to the little speckle of Dirk’s apartment packed with the dude and his technics is not only a representation of his isolation and entrapment within himself, but also of his lack of control. I think his obsession with & themes of control are a direct product in the case of Dirk specifically *of* this kind of upbringing. His themes of technology are also related to his themes around control. So much of his character is actually revolved around this to me like so much. Dirk is so deeply disconnected from humanity in every way and so much of his character + symbolism is based around that.

It doesn’t even have to be about the symbolism or anything though. It’s just pretty *interesting* in the literal sense that he lives in the middle of the ocean in the future. There’s not only a lot to theorise on to do with his young life there, but on how it might affect him in the way he acts for the rest of his life. The latter part is probably what I see mentioned the most by people talking about Dirk regarding this, I’m surprised I don’t see more discussion on the former too though. I really ought to actually talk more about Homestuck stuff on here. I will do it myself.

Roxy & Dirk’s relationship is largely ignored though because there is a narrative a certain demographic spreads that Dirk resented and blamed Roxy for her interest in him, and thus too many people believe that their relationship was or would continue to be an abusive one. Realistically, I believe it’s important to acknowledge that the way Roxy treated Dirk regarding his homosexuality wasn’t right while still acknowledging the obvious amount of respect and admiration Dirk had for Roxy. I mean we have a huge piece of dialogue from their post trickster mode conversations on the quest beds from Dirk purely stating how he feels about Roxy that people completely ignore somehow. I think this usually happens to characters that are women though. I know everyone says it, but it is true. Jane gets the exact same treatment of boiling her down to solely her negative aspects. The things I see completely mischaracterising both of them are horrific.

I mean how much more explicit can it get that their relationship is obviously very important to Dirk? But I digress. I think the best or I should say “most interesting” interpretations of their relationship usually come from DirkRoxy shippers actually.

I would be interested to hear about Dirk’s relation to his brother’s theme of time though. I don’t have any thoughts on this and I don’t recall ever hearing anyone talk about it before. If you or anyone else would be willing to enlighten me I’d be thrilled.
