I want to rant about some people in this fandom coming out of the woodworks saying that Brozone is toxic or some shit like that.

Did we even watch the same movie? Like seriously?

I think one of the biggest things these people overlook is this scene here.

This is his brother’s face after he said that he had to take care of himself after his grandma died. Are you going to tell me that they don’t feel any regret or guilt for leaving?

And look how shock and sadden they are to learn that Branch built the bunker for him and his brothers. They 100 percent feel guilty for telling him they're going their separate ways and for blowing off his feelings.

They also were in the heat of the moment. They were already mad at each other and said things they didn't mean. like shit man, I've said shit that I didn't fucking mean and instantly regret it. That's just being human.

There is also the end of the movie when the brothers are together again. Even if it's a brief scene, you can see how they're trying to reconnect, to be a family again, one step at a time.

And I will say it again, NO ONE IS DISMISSING WHAT BRANCH'S BROTHERS DID OR SAID, but you can't deny how much Branch's brothers love and care about him and each other.

How they all reacted to seeing Branch again after so long and finally listened to him in the end. How Bruce sent a postcard to John even tho he was still mad at him. How Clay hugged John after saving Floyd and asked him to join his book club (seen by John reading a book that looks like the one Clay is holding when he was asking Branch) and how he apologized to Branch (I do agree that the apology was lack luster), saying he can't wait to get to know him more. How they all risked their lives to save Floyd.

There is way more I can say, but I'm not going to waste my time anymore than I already have.

Well yes, words have meanings and "caucasians" is not a general term for white people and never was! Caucasians are people who originate from Caucasus region. It includes more than 50 ethnic groups and their history goes back to late II — early I millennium BC. It is extremely old, diverse and rich culture! You can read a little bit more literally on wikipedia.

More so they are not even considered "white" in general.

Like imagine you see somone being called "typical mexican" in a negative context. First of all it is racist of course but upon further inspection the person in question is not even mexican and have zero connections to Mexico. Thats just some random white dude. And it's very confusing at first but than you see more and more people start using the word "mexican" as a general description of white person, often in a degrading context. And it does not stop at internet weirdos and racist scum, news outlets, celebrities, well meaning people who claim to support diversity and celebrate and respect different cultures do that too. Sounds extremely weird and out of pocket, right? Well this is how i feel when i see yet another random white person being called caucasian for some reason.

You cant just...i dont know...use a name for a very specific, very old and very existing ethnic group to refer to random white people who have no connection to this group. It even sounds like such a weird and confusing concept when i write this sentence, why would anyone ever come up with idea to do it????

Love your enemy is much better than I thought!!! Also I want to thank the casting director for choosing the leads' teen version actors! I actually really hate when they make the actual leads who are playing +30/40 y.o in the present play their younger version too. I mean, there are so many talented young actors!! I've seen many older actors play their younger version and I'm just tired of it.

ok, once more I realize that my own kindness and friendliness has been taken for implied consent, and as always, the troubles that are brewing now are connected to OCs.

So let me be clear and frank one more time, one last time, because I have NO INTENTION of going through what I went through in 2021.

While I am always immensely happy that my Original Characters are enjoyed and that they can serve as source of inspiration, they are NOT however a template for anyone to base their OCs on.

They are not something that you can take in their entirety, change whatever suits you, and then call it your own.

It doesn't work like that, especially because, and allow me to reiterate this once and for all, OCs are *immensely* personal.

They are an extention of the soul of the person that creates them.

So taking whatever suits your fancy and use it for the "aesthetic" or the "vibes" is immensely disrespectful and, dare I say, rather impertinent, especially when both characters happen to belong to the same fandom.

Now, I am not talking about certain tropes and subjects that are typical of certain genre, of course not.

We are all somehow reinveting something that's already there when we work with OCs and stories.

What I am talking about is taking certain specific idiosyncrasies that make a certain character unique, change them to suit your character, and then being SO IMPERTINENT to just call it your own and parading it around without even having the courtesy to quote the person that has inspired you, taking advantage of the fact that I am just a small creator with a small following.

This is a huge No No for me.

I appreciate that other creators might have a different opinion or perspective when it comes to OCs, and while I do not share entirely in that, I sure as hell respect it.

But allow me to be crystal clear: if this happens to me, like it had in 2021, that's the *easiest* way to lose all respect I might harbour for you, and I seldomly get mad or angry.

I am always accomodating, always supportive, and I think I have proven it aplenty in the past few years.

But this is something that I cannot condone nor agree with.

And it's not just a matter of ethic, in this sense: it's a matter of also hurting me, and literally put my whole creative process into shamble.

It's a matter of having respect of others.

Now, you might say: who cares if they hurt you? they are characters that do not exist, just move on and have thicker skin!

Well, as I said above, for when it concerns myself, my OCs are an extention of my own soul, a way for me to formulate and explain feelings that sometimes I have a hard time let out; a way for me to actually face, fragmentize and analyze my own trauma through them;

and most important of all, they are OFTEN a love letter to both the world I am exploring with them AND my own husband and child, such as in the case of Jacob and Dorothea,for whom, as I said often in the past 5 years, I have poured A LOT from myself and my husband's own story.

You could say that it probably my fault for having bared my feelings so much and poured so much of myself into a character;

And you might be correct, because I have learned my lesson, and ever since Dorothea and Jacob, no other character has been infused with as much of my own being as they were.

but that doesn't mean that it stings any less when I see it unravels in front of my eyes.

Why do people always forget that comic books were originally made for kids

“why does Robin exist?” “Robin is a child soldier” COMICS WERE MADE FOR KIDS SO OBVIOUSLY THERE IS GOING TO BE CHILDREN CHARACTERS

And a lot of ppl don’t know that Batman used to be silly but then in the 80s( I think) there was a rise of people who like the darker Batman comics so they did that but now more people Don’t want darker comics so DC is making more light hearted(like BWFA) comics ☹️

Not one piece related but I follow DC stuff on here too and it really weirds me out that so many batfam fans haven't read the comics and are only living off of fanfiction???? Look, I'm not one to judge, each to their own or whatever but they're also really proud of not consuming the original media????

I get that DC is a huge franchise and it's not just the comics, there's a whole bunch of animated series and movies and live action films and shows, there's a ridiculous amount of content for it and you don't have to read the comics to be a fan. But in the case of batfam... There's not a lot actually. And because of this there's a huge difference between the fanon and canon versions of the characters. Like, a lot more than any other fandom I've seen. And because a lot of the fans "hate" the comics, the fanon versions are what is more widespread. And it boggles my mind.

I also know that the comics themselves fuck up characters all the time, because it's impossible to keep track of a character with 80 years of history. (It would be a lot easier if DC had a good archiving system in place but oh well.) So how can you expect the fans to have an accurate vision of your characters when you as a company don't???

So, I get why it happened and I'm not trying to be a hater but there's something so fucked up about shitting on the thing you love. Why would you go out of your way to say you wouldn't touch the comics with a ten-ft-pole???? (Yes I've actually seen a fan say this on this very website) Bad comics exist, in fact some of them are REALLY bad, but also good comics exist. Really good, well written and drawn comics are out there about characters you love and you definitely don't have to read it if you don't want to, but you shouldn't brag about how you've never read a comic. It's not the slay you think it is.

Guys I thought the point of ROTJ was that Luke understood the problems with the jedi order and would go on to remake it into something that was less corrupt, understood repression is unhealthy, understood that the dark side is something people can come back from and allow attachments. But no, he somehow makes the same exact mistakes as the old order and then goes shocked Pikachu when the same outcome happens. He is so befuddled by this, that for some reason he forgoes his duties and fucks off to a jedi planet. You know, instead of trying to save his nephew WHO HE WAS CHARGED WITH CARING FOR. Then he is shocked when his flawless plan of hiding on a planet associated with the Jedi, leads to him being found by someone who wants to be a Jedi. And then he spouts some shit about how the Jedi are actually not based but instead are cringe. I could understand this coming from Dooku Ahsoka or Anakin, three Jedi who where fucked over by the order, but it is kinda weird that the fucking GRANDMASTER OF THE JEDI says this. My brother in Christ, YOU ARE THE LEADER OF THE JEDI. YOU CONTORL HOW THE NEW ORDER IS TRAINED AND STRUCTURED! Seriously, I am sick of the "Jedi are bad" narrative because it is being put in places it does not belong. It belongs in stories like the Prequels or the Acolyte because it is either about the fall of the Jedi or the Sith. Like it makes since in those stories. But in the sequel trilogy it makes no sense because 1. The New Jedi Order is new and thus will not have the problems of the Order, because it is lead by different people who where raised in different times.

2. It is a continuation of the OT. The end of the OT paints Luke's victory as not because of the Old Order's teachings but because of his belief in his father. Luke's compassion is what saves the day and HE is the grandmaster of the new order. 3. Motherfucker it is the RETURN OF THE JEDI! Not the The Short-Lived Comeback of the Jedi.

4. Telling the same story over and over again is boring. The ST is just a worse OT to me. It just feels like all the original stuff from the ST is either watered down (Poor Finn, you deserved more screentime) or mangled to resemble the sacred cow that is the OT (By the time of ROS they made Rey a worse version of Luke)

The Disney Canon had the chance to play with one of the most influential franchises out their and they went the safe route. But what can you expect from the company that churns out Live action remakes of their best hits instead of doing what they did with Enchanto.

On a less insane note, at least the Force Awakens introduced me to star wars. And I can see why some enjoy TLJ, it has interesting ideas and I'm a prequel girlie so I can't judge. I have no such niceties about the Rise of Skywalker. The film itself, I am sure its fans are lovely people

This comment helped me- I thank you deeply. anyway! yeah, I do indeed have my favorites!! wild and Warrior are my favorites to write cuz they have my issues XD But when it comes to drawing it depends on what mood Im in! I love drawing War and Sky cuz then I get to draw sexy fat dudes- Oh, but the Twili twins have feral features! drawing Angel with a sexy pose is so much fun! XD And with Four I have great plans for him in the future. He is so animated! and so is Bunny! Absolutely LOVE drawing animals XD which means Twilight in his wolf form is definitely amazing as well! Today I was watching a home design show with my mom and the episode we were watching had a homosexual couple as the homeowners. My dad's reaction was to IMMEDIATELY get up and leave, with some comment like "I'm not sticking around while they're showing gay guys."

Like... what?? Why??? My dad is the nicest guy I know, but it's so scary to know for a fact that he'd hate me if I was gay. He supports me not wanting to date, but if he knew I was Aroace would he hate me because it's LGBTQ+? Heavens forbid I tell him I'm Gay Oriented Aroace. It's so scary to think about. All I want to do is go to college and have a cute female roommate I can platonically cuddle with and maybe kiss. And if I get that, I lose my father's love and respect. What the hell.

My mom's by no means an ally, but she did at least seem equally annoyed by my dad's outburst earlier. Maybe I could come out to her one day, if I could stop being afraid.

Your borderline fic recaught my interest in being in the batfandom rn! I just keep seeing all those posts criticizing characterizations and lack of accuracy in fanfiction and posts in the fandom at large and it kept stressing me out, I’m here to have fun and play around. Look, I've seen those posts too, and I can't lie -- they stress me out too. I've never claimed to write canon-accurate characters or straight from the comics plotlines. There are some authors who do that, and they're great! There's also a ton who don't, and they're also great.

Fanfiction isn't about being accurate to the canon source material. It's about writing your takes on characters, events, what-if scenarios, etc. This idea of "accuracy" only hamstrings writers, creators, and artists.

If I was being "accurate" to some DC source material, my Bruce would be very different. He would be meaner, and much more likely to hit/abuse his kids.

Do I like writing that? Hell no! And who's saying I have to?

This idea that fanon is somehow "ruining" canon and/or canon fanfiction is ridiculous to me. I keep seeing this kind of comics elitism pop up here and on TikTok, and it drives me nuts.

Fans have always, since the dawn of fanworks, taken characters and put their own spin on them. They've done things to your blorbo you hate, or that your friend hates, or your friend's friend really hates.

There was a comment by one TikTok creator on a similar post who asked people to stop telling her to "let people enjoy things" because she felt that that phrase was harmful to her involvement in and appreciation for the Batfamily/DC fandoms.

Well, I disagree. I think we should absolutely let people enjoy things, above all else.

So yeah. Write the OOC Bruce Wayne fic. Put together a Tumblr post about a chat between the Batfamily members that would probably never happen in canon. Draw Dick Grayson in short shorts with a boob window, which now that I say it, they might actually do in canon, but oh well.

Fanon/Fandom enjoyment of stuff like the Batfamily, Batman, Superbat etc is not somehow magically ruining canon. If your understanding and appreciation for canon can't handle when buttfucker69 on Tumblr woobifies Bruce for a mini a/b/o fic, then you need to challenge your understanding of fandom.

We don't gatekeep here. I certainly never will. And I will keep fighting on this point until I eventually leave this godforsaken hellsite.

You are a valid fan even if you don't read the comics. You are a valid creator even if your fic/posts are OOC. Your fanon and fandom experiences are VALID.

i’m so fed up with making excuses for horrible behaviour. if i can act like a decent person and refrain from making my sorry existense everyone elses problem, then why the fuck can’t you?

it’s the same in this fandom - the people who comment negativley on ships and fics. if me and 90% of us are able to look away when someone is harmlessly discussing a ship we don’t like or a headcanon we don’t agree with, why aren’t you? why are you in every comment section on tiktok complaining and shouting, instead of just scrolling past? and yeah, you know what i will judge your character based on your behaviour in fandom.

I’ve never had a bad experience with opening art requests until this time, (personally, I just learned, don’t fucking tag your post with art requests oh my god, never doing that again). I learned very early on when joining the art community that art requests were sometimes looked down upon, not for the artist drawing it, but more of those requesting it especially those who get pushy or expect free art and its left a pretty lasting impression on me especially with artist friends who have big followings.

Personally, when I opened them, I saw it as a way to interact with the community/fandom and the last two times I’ve opened them, I’ve always found it enjoyable. Maybe it was because the people requesting it were either mutuals or those who frequently interact with my posts and content and everything was within the same fandom and community. It was actually fun scribbling stuff out as much as I’d always joke about them stressing me out LOL.

But it gets to a point. When people start asking stuff from fandoms I’ve never even mentioned or requesting things completely unrelated to my interests, I get very iffy lol. Like I’ve never seen or interacted with you until now, it just gives me the vibe that you just want free art from me and that puts me off. Especially when my most recent posts all mention about requests being closed, if you’re asking something from me, make sure to check my bio/page first before you send out that ask/message, please 😭

Is there anyone who actually watched When the stars gossip until the end? I dropped it after being disappointed in the first episodes but I was curious about the point of the story, given its incredibly huge budget and great cast (what a waste) and so I read about the finale. Everything about this drama went wrong. Dear writers, what were you thinking?!

Checo's time at mclaren was similar to what's happening now, no?

No, not really, for starters, the circumstances were wildy different:

When Checo was in McLaren:

He was a rookie, barely out the nest from Sauber, being teammates with the nicest guy ever (Kamui, how I miss you).

His new teammate was already a world champion (Jenson Button, 2009), and he was clearly the inexperienced for the press.

He was substituting Lewis Hamilton, another already world champion, and fan favorite. Most of the hate Checo received back then was because Hamilton moved on to Mercedes.

McLaren was in the middle of restructuring his cars, and the team was kind of a mess back then. The phrase 'that's why we hired him' was heard so many times in so many interviews...

Finally, Checo never felt part of the team entirely and they fired him like nothing. Checo's dad said that it was the ultimate betrayal for Checo, since he gave everything to be in McLaren and now he was without a seat.

And yes, he was quite hated in his time in McLaren, but mostly because Lewis left and Jenson kept complaining about Checo's driving style. Something that's the same though, when everything went wrong, everyone blamed Checo (still happening with RBR).

However, with RBR (Red Bull Racing), things were like this:

He was more experienced and had more knowledge of developing the cars, Force India and Racing Point always tried to adjust the car to Checo's needs.

Checo was part of one of Horner's teams back in GP2, so Horner knew him and followed his career in F1 (Horner's words).

RBR had problems mantaining a second driver, since the team focused on Max.

Nobody in RBR wanted Checo, except for Horner. They wanted someone from their academy, so Horner had to twist everyone's arm so they could at least consider Checo. This shows that the team didn't exactly received him with open arms.

He knew his job: Secure Max's first championship. That was the goal, he had to be the second driver that helped Max achieve the glory. One time when they interviewed Checo, they asked him about blocking Lewis and Checo said that he knew Lewis would understand because he was doing it for HIS team. He already felt part of the family, even when most didn't want him there.

He was (is) older than Max, more relaxed and also, can take the heat and pressure.

What's the difference? Yes, he was hated in McLaren, but in RBR he's the focus, even more than Max. Almost every news, rumour, post... it's about Checo, or something someone said about him. And the focus is 80% negativity because RBR is a mess team. Always followed by drama.

Oh, and a big, BIG difference, in McLaren, Checo was single and had no kids. In RBR he's married with children, and people has no boundaries by messing with them; imagine being Checo's wife and reading that the press say your husband has 'drug money' or 'mafia money' or other many racists comments.

So no, it's not the same, the hate he gets now is awfully worse. And people don't seem to understand WHY is wrong acting this way.

I still have hope for Checo moving to another team, I know he wants to retire in RBR, but if he goes to Audi (with NICOOOO), or even if I'm right and Otmar brings another team, I think the press will finally let him go and let him race in peace (one can only dream).
