Oh,what am I supposed to do without you.
Loki x daughter!reader pt 2
Summary: You never knew your mother, but from the journal your Uncle Thor gave you, you knew she was a special women. You also knew that you were the splitting image of her.
Masterlist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Loki’s POV
Silence. That's all he heard now. No more sweet laughter. No more soft humming as she walked through the garden. No more mumbled words of love and whispers of sweet nothings. No all her heard was silence. Silence in the chambers that once belonged to the both of them. Silence as he walked the halls of a busy palace. Full of people but he was always alone. Silence..in the nursery that has been empty for nearly sixteen years. The bright beautiful colors, dull and covered in a layer if dust. But what else is new, everything has been dull since his beloved has died.
After he had his daughter sent away, Thor had been on more off world missions. He would leave for long periods of time and only come back to visit. Frigga would look at Loki with disappointed and pitiful eyes, that he would pointedly ignore. And while Loki managed to pull himself together and leave his room, he still had this dark depressing cloud over him. He was barely holding it together.
He was just...dark. His mischievous ways became cruel. Harmless pranks he used to play turned into mean tricks. His dry wit became cruel taunts. And when he wasn’t tormented people he was distant. There have been several times maids have found him staring out windows or at walls just lost in thought. Thinking of the life he could have had. A happy life with his wife and a child.
If only...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Y/n POV
Millions of light years away in Midgard, or earth, there was you. Y/n Odinson. After being sent away by Loki, Thor had taken you to live with Heimdall wanting to keep you close and true to your asgardian roots. But with Heimdall being the literal guardian of worlds and you growing to be a rather curious child, it wasn’t really a good match. So Thor took you to the only other place he could think of.
The Avengers HQ.
At first the team wasn’t too fond of the idea. Having a kid running around a superhero base isn’t really ideal. But after a while you won them over. Everyone absolutely adored you. Tony bought you any and everything you ever wanted, Bruce was your go to for advice, Steve doted on you and played with you whenever you wanted, Natasha was your self proclaimed aunt, and Clint was your fun uncle. Hell even Bucky found himself wrapped around your little finger. Yes, you had a wonderful life indeed.
But even though you could have anything you ever wanted, you still felt like you were missing something. Your parents.
You knew you were an asgardian. Your uncle Thor made sure you stayed true to your roots and you remembered the little time you spent on the planet. But you had no idea who your parents were. Every time you asked, Thor would always manage to change the subject. Other than the Avengers, who were more like aunts and uncles, you didn’t really have parents.
Now you knew you didn’t need them. You had a whole family of people who loved you like their own. But you couldn’t help but feel like there was something missing.
It wasn’t until a few days after your sixteenth birthday that you learned the truth.
See you always knew you were asgardian, but never knew who your parents truly were. You couldn’t remember your life in Asgard, much less your parents. Thor refused to tell you who your parents were. The most you got out of him was that you looked almost exactly like your mother and that she was the sweetest person he knew.
So when your fingers started turning a light blue and ice started shooting out of them, it was a little surprising to say the least. It happened on your birthday. Tony decided that it would be a wonderful idea to throw you a surprise party. And usually, you wouldn’t mind it as you’re actually pretty good at socializing. But ever since you woke up, you haven’t been feeling too well. Your head has been hurting, you felt light headed, and you just felt cold. Your hands and toes felt as if you were standing in the snow for hours.
As you were walking into the common room, the Avengers and some of your friends popped out, scaring the absolute crap out of you. Resulting in you pulling an Elsa and then passing out. And while everyone fussed over you, trying to figure out what the hell happened, Thor was planning on taking you to Asgard.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After persuading the team ( specifically Bucky and Tony), you found yourself behind Thor as he was greeted by a man who looks a lot like Idris Elba.
“Heimdall!!” Thor boomed embracing the man “It’s wonderful to see you again my friend.”
“Thor, its been too long!” Heimdall says with a smile,” Does the all father know about our dear visitor?” He says, golden eyes looking into yours. Your face grows hot under his gaze as you smile at him shyly. His face softens at the sight of you.
“Y/n, welcome home” He says with a nod of his head. Your eyes widen as you distinctly remember not telling him your name. Thor and Heimdall chuckle at the look of surprise on your face
“Moonlight, Heimdall was the first person to take care of you before the Avengers” Thor said chuckling.
“Oh, then its lovely to see you again” You say, not really knowing what to say.
Heimdall smiles and whispers to Thor, “ Does your brother know about this?”
Thor winces, “No...”
Heimdall stares at him for a bit before rolling his eyes. “My dear” He says to you,”You’re uncle is a buffoon.” You giggle at his words. Not understanding the severity of your presence.
“Come Y/n, lets get you settled in.” Thor says and you say goodbye to Heimdall, walking across the rainbow bridge in awe.
As you walk through the streets of Asgard, you noticed people staring at you. They whispered to each other as you passed by. You thought it was because Thor was home, but you had a weird feeling.
“Hey, uncle Thor?” you whisper
“Yes darling?”
“Why are they staring at me?”
“Oh...uh. ....cause you’re dressed in midgardian garments. when we get to the castle we’ll get you something to wear” Thor says nervously. You squint at his excuse. “Okayy” you say weirded out by his behavior.
Finally reaching the palace, you look around in awe. It looked like something out of a fantasy book. Thor lead you through the halls when a beautiful woman sped towards the two of you.
“Thor!” she said wrapping him in a hug.”welcome home my son”
“Mother” Thor says hugging her back,”I have missed you”
“Oh this is Frigga” you think to yourself. You feel a slight pang of jealousy, seeing Thor be embraced by his mother. But you push that thought aside when they break apart and Thor beckons you over.
“Mother...this is Y/n.” He says slowly. Frigga freezes at your name.
“Y/n?” She whispers, looking at you with wide eyes. She steps closer you you and puts her hands on your face and stares into your eyes.
“Oh, I’d know those eyes anywhere.” She says. “ Oh darling”
She pulls you into a loving embrace, startling you. “I haven’t seen you since you were but a babe.” she holds you at arms length. “Oh you...you look just like..” She stops herself, shaking her head and wipes away tears. “Look at me, crying all over you”
You smile,”It’s okay, its lovely to meet you.”
Frigga laughs,” Yes, I am so happy you are here. Come, let me show you where you can rest.” As she leads you out of the room, she turns to Thor and says, “Thor, don’t forget to mention our guest to your brother.” And with that she wraps her arm around your shoulders and leads you to a guest room, asking about your life and interest.
You answer, blissfully unware or the dread running through Thor's body at the thought of confronting his brother.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Loki's POV
Thor slowly walked to the chambers, regretting every choice he has made till now. He knew there were two way Loki would handle the news. He’d either go ballistic or completely disappear for however long Y/n was there.
For his sake and hers, he'd prefer that latter option.
Finally reaching his room, Thor stood in front of the door. He was trying to figure out how to tell Loki his long lost daughter that he disowned was in the palace. Oh and she doesn’t know who her parents are. And that him and his team of superheroes have been raising her.....and that she has ice powers.
Loki, sat in his room reading noticed shadows under his door. Rolling his eyes, he thought it was the maids again. They always hesitated to knock on his door.
“What do you want?” Loki says in a monotone voice, opening the door only to his his brother standing their with a sheepish look on his face.”Thor.. you’re home.”
“Brother! How lovely to see you” Thor said loudly. “ I just came to ...uh..came to..”
Loki looked at him in irritation and confusion. “Came to what?”
“Came to invite you to dinner!” Thor said grinning nervously
“What? no flowers?” Loki deadpanned
“Oh hush brother” Thor said. “I have been away for so long, and I would be overjoyed if you came to my welcome home dinner.”
“If I agree, will you leave me be?” Loki said. finally irritated with his brothers presence.
“Yes!” Thor said. “ Wonderful...”
Loki looked at him weirdly again and nodded, but before he closed the door Thor started talking.
“Brother, tell me, how have you been?” He asked
“Wonderful, now do you mi-“ “Be honest.”
Loki glares at his brothers words and stays silent for a while. Then he sighs and steps aside, letting Thor in his room.
“I don’t know.” He finally says, looking down at the floor.
“You..don’t know?” Thor repeats, not understanding the response.
“Yes. At first I was devastated, I was angry. But now...now I feel empty. Like there’s something in my life that I’m missing.” Loki sighs again, looking out the window. “Every time I look, there she is. Sometimes she’s reading in the garden. Sometimes she’s helping the maids. And sometimes...” Loki stops himself, tears forming in his eyes.
“Sometimes..?” Thor prompts gently as he slowly walks to the bookshelf, leaning against it.
“Sometimes I see her staring at me. Disappointed.” Loki finally says, his back turned to Thor as he lets his tears fall freely.
“Loki..I am certain she understand.” Thor says, “ would she be upset? Probably.” Loki tenses at his, his brothers words sting at his heart. “But, she knew you. I think she’d prefer her child to be well loved.”
Loki nodded, still not facing Thor. And because of that, he didn’t notice Thor swipe a particular journal and replace it with another book.
“Well” Thor said suddenly,” I should be off, I promised mother I’d help show our guest around.”
“Our guest?” Loki said making a face at the thought of socializing.
“ Oh yes.” Thor said walking out of the room, “ a princess of some sort, I believe”
Loki rolls his eyes, he knew if royalty was visiting, he’d be forced to dress up and make stale conversation.
Meanwhile, Thor walked down the halls, with a beautiful leather journal, that belonged to a certain girls mother. And a plan in mind.

You actually liked to go shopping. You enjoyed walking around the shops and looking at beautiful clothes and shoes. You didn't like to try on the clothes, though, because the comparisons between the model on the photos and you were awful.
"Aren't you gonna try that on, Y/N?"
Torvi's voice startled you. She just got out of one of the fitting rooms, wearing a beautiful silver dress that made her look even better than the model. You widened your eyes.
"I... Don't think this will fit me" you glanced at the clothes they made you pick. Party clothes; tight dresses, short skirts, low cut crop tops... "I'm more of a comfy sweatpants and oversized hoodies girl" you raised an eyebrow.
Torvi chuckled, rolling her eyes and shaking her head.
"Come on, Y/N, I want to see how you look on them!"
She looked at herself on the mirror, frowning softly. You looked at the pile of clothes on the wooden table and wondered why you agreed to go shopping with Torvi, Gunhild and Lagertha when you could be at home, eating cookies and watching Disney movies with Hvitserk.
They insisted on going shopping and then go and grab lunch. As you barely had any social life anymore, you thought it'd be a great idea. Then they entered one of those expensive shops that you could only admire from afar and glare with jealousy to the people that exited the store with a couple of bags.
"Okay, I think this is the one" Torvi shrugged happily "What do you think?" She turned around and you smiled softly.
"You look beautiful"
"Thank you" her smile widened "You're the sweetest, Y/N"
"Are you girls done?" Lagertha's voice startled you, her head peeked through the door.
"Nearly" Torvi winked at her "What do you think about this dress? Y/N likes it"
"I think you look perfect on it" Lagertha smiled at her ex daughter in law. You were still amazed with the narrative of that family, but it wasn't your place to judge "What about you, Y/N? Did you try anything?"
You opened your mouth to speak, but Torvi interrupted you.
"She didn't, I keep telling her she should, but she won't listen" she raised an eyebrow and you groan, rubbing your face.
"Come on, we're not leaving until you try something on" Lagertha chuckled.
Sighing, you rubbed your face and grabbed the clothes, rolling your eyes as you entered the fitting room, making Torvi and Lagertha smirk in victory.
_________________________________________
"So... We could go out" Torvi looked excited as you stared at your lunch. You had nothing against modern, expensive restaurant but you weren't sure if it was legal that they asked that amount of money for that.
"We're already out, Torvi" Gunhild chuckled. Out of all of them, she was the one you could relate to the most, she was the most calm, the quiet, but also as fierce as Lagertha if not more.
"I know" Torvi rolled her eyes "But maybe we should go out to a nightclub, you know, I haven't been out in forever and I want to, this whole 'plan the perfect wedding' thing is stressing me out"
"You don't need to plan the perfect wedding, every wedding is perfect when you're in love" Lagertha raised her cup of champagne softly, and you chewed at your food slowly.
"I know, I know, I just... Ubbe is the one, you know?"
"We know, Torvi" Gunhild smiled widely at her "But you see... My own wedding with Björn was quite rushed, and still... Magical" she blushed softly, looking down.
You smiled, remembering her wedding. You had attended with Ivar, who wasn't too excited to go to his half-brother's wedding and was nearly obligated by his family. The two of you left very early, but not before having sex on the limousine Björn had rented.
"I know you will have the same thing with Ubbe, I can see it" Lagertha caressed Torvi's hand over the table.
"Okay stop getting emotional, I know what you're doing" she narrowed her eyes at them "Can we go out, please?"
They laughed, and even you chuckled softly.
"Y/N, I trust you, don't leave me alone" she pouted at you "Tonight?"
"I'm afraid I work tonight" you smiled apologetically "But you all can go out! I'm sure you'll have a better time without me"
"No, we need you" she sighed "Tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I suppose tomorrow is fine..."
"Perfect!" She giggled.
"I'm afraid my time on nightclubs is already over, girls" Lagertha laughed "But I wish you have a great time, enjoy your youth"
"I think I can" Gunhild nodded "But I'll leave early"
Torvi looked satisfied.
"Okay, I can call Sigurd's new girlfriend too"
"Sigurd has a girlfriend?" You raised an eyebrow. You didn't know anything, but as you barely talked to him due to his bad relationship with Ivar, it didn't surprise you.
"Yeah, I met her when we had dinner with them to tell them about the wedding... She's cute, and nice... It looks like our dear Sigurd finally settled down... Ubbe was relieved to hear about her, he was really worried that the rockstar life was too much for him"
Even Sigurd, the now semi-famous musician that girls pursued after his gigs, the soft and sweet Sigurd that had had nearly as many girls as Hvitserk, had settled down. He had an stable relationship. You, on the other hand, had a shitty job and spent your nights watching Disney movies.
You kept eating as Torvi talked about her favorite clubs, trying to decide which one was more suitable for a girls' night. But suddenly, someone entering the restaurant, and your eyes widened. Torvi stopped talking and Lagertha raised an eyebrow, turning her head to look at the door.
Of all the people you'd think you might run into on a posh restaurant, Aslaug wasn't one of them. She looked as beautiful and flawless as always, with her hair tied on an elegant bun and her subtle makeup that made her pretty eyes stand out. Ivar had his father's eye color, but the shape was much more similar to his mother's. They resembled each other, and it made your stomach turn.
She looked around the restaurant, and when her eyes found yours, she looked surprised. An strange expression crossed her face, but she flashed you a sweet smile. Aslaug seemed cold and distant to most people, but to you she was always sweet and caring, treating you like the daughter she always wanted but never got.
Her smile turned a bit stern when she looked at Lagertha and Torvi, ignoring Gunhild. Then she turned to the bar, smiling politely at the waitress.
Then the eyes turned to you. You cleared your throat nervously and avoided them. It was true that, out of Ivar's family, the only people you had a close relationship with were Hvitserk, Aslaug, Floki and Helga, and sometimes Ubbe, even if that changed when he decided to get closer to his half brother and Lagertha. Now things had changed, and you still felt a bit out of place in this new social circle Alfred had introduced to you, but your link to the "enemy" was much stronger.
"I... I'm going to say hello" you muttered.
No one said anything, and you nearly felt sick. When you arrived to the bar, Aslaug was talking to a man next to her. You hadn't even realized he walked in after her, like her favored son, she had the gift of making everyone aware of only her presence by just walking in a room.
"Hi, Aslaug"
She turned to face you, her face lightened up and her smile widened. This time it reached her eyes.
"Y/N, my sweet girl, hello" she hugged you tightly, and you sighed, hugging her back. You missed her "I was wondering if you'd say hello... How are you, my dear?"
"I'm fine" you nodded "How are you?"
"I'm good, honey, I'm so happy to see you, I was worried when you..." She licked her lips, nervously "I called you a couple of times, but you didn't pick up"
"Oh, yeah, sorry about that... I kind of neglected my phone for a few weeks"
"I understand" she nodded. If anyone in the world understood exactly how you felt, it was Aslaug "I truly do, Hvitserk has been talking to me about you, I'm glad you haven't completely cut off communications with my family, we need you"
"Of course" you giggled "Hvitserk is one of my closest friends, and that won't change"
I hope, you thought. You kind of felt very replaceable.
"I'm glad to see you" she repeated, the smile never left her lips "Remember you will always be welcome in our home, Y/N"
"Thank you, Aslaug" you nearly teared up "I think I should go back now..."
"Yeah, go and have fun, dear" she caressed your cheek softly, not even mentioning the people you were with "Goodbye"
"Bye, have a good day" you shot her another wide smile.
______________________________________________
Thora looked impressed when you arrived to the cafeteria with Torvi, Lagertha and Gunhild. She was polite to them, but it was obvious that she was surprised to see you hanging out with them.
'Wow' was the only thing she said once they left, making you promise you'd wear the dress you had bought that morning to the club the night after.
"Don't even mention it" you groaned, rubbing your face as the both of you got ready to start your shift.
"I didn't take you for someone that had brunch with these people" Thora held back a laugh, and you hit her arm playfully.
"They're really nice" you muttered "They're just trying to make me feel better"
"Yeah, they seem nice, but... Are you sure you fit in that group, Y/N?" She raised an eyebrow "Don't get offended, but I never pictured you in there"
"No, I don't" you sighed "As I'm seeing Alfred now, I suppose they see me like one of them"
"You're seeing..."
"Not like that" you glared at her "Shut up, we're just friends"
This time she didn't hold back the laugh.
"I went on a date with Hvitserk" she cleared her throat, and you looked up at her again, interested.
"And?"
"Nothing, he's just not my type" she shrugged, making you groan.
"He likes you, I know it" you winked at her.
Thora shook her head.
"Hvitserk is the kind of man that likes everyone" she laughed "It's okay, he's nice and fun, but not what I'm looking for... I have another date tonight, though, with a guy I met on Tinder"
"You're on Tinder?" You frowned as you kept drying the coffee cups.
"Yes, and you should too" she giggled when you widened your eyes at her "Come on, Y/N, you're young, hot and cute, stop thinking about a boy that didn't appreciate you, you deserve to spend your nights having orgasms, not chocolate ice-cream"
"But I like chocolate ice-cream" you muttered.
"More than orgasms?" She chuckled, and just when you were about to answer, she interrupted you "Don't answer, you're weird" she rolled her eyes.
Hvitserk surprised you at the end of your shift with a bag full of beers. He had brought his car and offered you a late night with beer, chips and reality shows. As it was probably the best plan you could have, you said yes, and opened one of the beers even before entering the car. You saw Hvitserk glance at Thora as she stayed to close the cafeteria and wait for her date, chatting with a girl she knew from university that visited her at work.
"You should work a bit for it" you said, raising an eyebrow at him as he drove to your home with a poker face.
"She's not interested" he shrugged. As Hvitserk wasn't used to having girls reject him, it had hurt his pride.
"But you can make her interested if you do things right" you chuckled "You Lothbrok boys are always waiting for girls battling their eyelashes at you"
Hvitserk laughed.
"You're right, what can I say? I'm surprised you didn't battle your eyelashes at me yet"
"I was busy with your brother, Hvitty" you giggled "Until he got tired of me"
Hvitserk's smile faded slowly, and as soon as he could, he put his hand on your thigh, turning to look at you.
"How are you, Y/N?"
"I'm fine, it's okay" you muttered, shrugging "I saw your mother today"
"Yeah she told me" he nodded, his attention back to the road "She also asked me not to say anything to Ivar" he sighed "It's because she doesn't like Freydis, she came home for dinner the other day and I could swear she would have loved to sink the knife on her neck" he held back a smile.
God, you loved Aslaug.
"Why? What happens with Freydis that no one likes her?" You asked, curious.
"You've seen them together, haven't you?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah, briefly... Alfred and I left immediately, I barely talked to them"
"Ivar is infatuated with her" he sighed "He's lost his mind, Y/N, he's not even rational now, his whole world is Freydis, it's not love, it's... I'm worried about him" he frowned "He's changing, he can't see anything past her"
"Have you tried to talk to him? Maybe he needs a bit of big brother guidance"
"I can't talk to him, he's... He doesn't listen. No matter what I tell him, he doesn't trust me"
"Ivar has a hard time trusting people" you said softly "Maybe..."
"Don't defend him" he glared at you "I know what you mean, but he's known her for a few months, Y/N, and he's pushing away every single person that was important to him, he's not even going to physical therapy anymore"
You frowned a bit. Ivar hated therapy, but he always understood he needed to do it. Suddenly you felt the need of texting him.
"Stop worrying about him, Y/N" Hvitserk narrowed his eyes "It's my job to worry about him because he's my little brother, but you can forget about him now"
When you arrived home, Hvitserk went directly to the kitchen to heat up the sandwiches you had taken from the cafeteria and put the beers in the fridge as you entered your bedroom, sighing tiredly.
"I'm going to take a shower" you raised your voice, and after Hvitserk hummed, probably with his mouth full of food, you entered the bathroom, closing the door and taking off your clothes.
The warm water relaxed your body and you were able to finally stop thinking, leaving your mind completely blank.
It didn't last, though.
As soon as you left the shower, you unlocked your phone, looking for Ivar's contact. The last text messages you had exchanged were from the last days of your relationship. Ivar didn't like to text, so he usually only replied with monosyllables and then called you to hear your voice, but in those last weeks he hadn't even replied. In that moment, you had tried to convince yourself that it was normal, that he might hadn't feel like texting you, but then he had broken up with you. Scrolling down the messages, you could tell exactly the day he had realized he wasn't in love with you anymore -if he had ever been in love, which you started to doubt-. You let your throat ache and a couple of tears run down your cheek before wiping them away and writing the message you had in mind.
Hi Ivar. Are you okay?
You didn't think he'd reply. But after hearing people saying how weird Ivar was acting (even more than the usual) and how Freydis had changed him, you started to wonder if he was okay. No matter how much he hurt you, he was still someone you cared deeply about.
A knock on the bathroom door startled you.
"Y/N? Are you alive?" Hvitserk sounded a bit worried as he knocked on the door. You cleared your throat and dried the few tears on your face.
"Yes! Sorry! I'll be out in five!"
____________________________________
The beers didn't last as long as you thought. It was past midnight when Hvitserk convinced you to open the bottle of vodka you had bought months ago and already forgot why.
It resulted on a blurry night, as the both of you started feeling more and more happy, you watched stupid movies and laughed at them. You forgot about Ivar, the text and the ache in your chest. Hvitserk was the only one that could make you forget everything and laugh so much.
"Come on, that never happens" Hvitserk groaned, rubbing his eyes with his voice already a bit unsteady. The brothers had a high alcohol tolerance, but Hvitserk was always the one that got drunk first "The girl never runs back to us, we're the ones that have to chase them"
You giggled drunkenly, hitting his arm.
"Yeah, we have to make you work for it"
He rolled his eyes, drinking directly from the bottle now.
"It's always easier to go out to a pub and have sex with another girl"
You giggled again. For some reason, every single thing he said felt like the funniest thing ever.
"Yeah, we can do that too" you smirked "For example, as you don't want to work for Thora, she's now out on a date and probably having sex with another guy while you're in my apartment getting drunk and criticizing terrible movies... Who's losing now?" You raised an eyebrow, smiling in victory. Hvitserk frowned and glared at you as you laid back on the couch.
"Are you saying I should go out and find someone to have sex with?"
"No" you giggled "I'm saying you should call Thora tomorrow"
"Anyway" he scoffed again "You should be the one going out to have sex"
"Me?" You laughed "Why?"
"When was the last time you had an orgasm, Y/N?"
You closed your eyes and pressed your fingers against your temple. It was hard to think when you had that... Noise in your head.
"I can't remember" you muttered "Probably before..." You hummed. He knew what you meant.
"What?" He widened his eyes, and his jaw dropped "It's been months, Y/N, what the hell?" He groaned "You didn't even touch yourself?"
You were so drunk that you didn't even flinch at his question.
"I don't have time for that" you frowned.
"Well, now I know why you're always pouting and looking like a lost puppy"
You opened your eyes to glare at him, even if you only saw a blurry bulge on the other side of your couch.
"I don't pout" you scoffed "And I'm just not ready to get to know someone new, Hvitty"
"You don't have to know them, you just need to fuck them" he shrugged "It works, you know, it helps to move on... In fact, this is what you should do; you should go out, pick someone, take them to my flat and fuck them on Ivar's bed"
You couldn't help the burst of laugher that brought tears to your eyes. Hvitserk looked amused.
"I'm serious, that should teach that asshole a fucking lesson, he needs it"
"I miss him" you muttered when the laughter died down "I texted him"
You couldn't see it, but Hvitserk sighed and rubbed his eyes. He moved then, startling you when he laid down next to you, hugging you softly. It made you smile.
"You need to stop, Y/N" he whispered then, and the lump in the throat came back "You really need to move on, you're amazing, and there's so many people in the world that deserves you much more than my stupid brother"
"I know" you sighed "But I want him"
Hvitserk hummed. He knew the feeling. He also knew you'd get over it, with time, but now it was difficult.
"That's why you need to go out there and enjoy your youth, Y/N" he drank from the bottle again, making you laugh "Get drunk, have sex and stop living like you're fifty and getting over your second divorce"
"Sounds easy when you say it" you giggled turning around to face him.
"You just need to do it" he muttered. Your eyelids already felt heavy, and when you opened your eyes, you saw Ivar. You didn't even know why, Ivar and Hvitserk didn't really look alike, but in that moment you saw him, his deep blue eyes staring at you, his pouty lips, his cute nose... Even that nervous expression he had whenever the two of you were alone. Your heart started beating faster and faster, and you felt his arms around you. You could even smell him. Oh, gods, you missed him so much. You would give anything, your own life, just to be able to kiss him again, even if it was for the last time.
So you just leant in and kissed him.
He kissed you back, but that kiss didn't feel like Ivar's... This one was much more rushed, it was good but... It lacked Ivar's passion and intensity. It wasn't the same.
Anyway, you kept kissing him, as his hands roamed up and down your body. You might knew you were kissing Hvitserk, but decided to ignore it. Maybe he was right and you just needed someone to move on.
_______________________________________
Ivar just glared at his phone. He had been glaring at it for the past two hours, since Freydis left, saying she was meeting some friends that night. Then he checked his phone and he nearly dropped it when he saw your name on his screen. Why were you texting him now? He thought you hated him. It was easier that way.
He rubbed his face, groaning and laying back on his bed. His legs hurt so much that day... No matter how many painkillers he had taken, how much he rested. He was feeling like someone just ran over him with a truck.
Hvitserk didn't come home either. Not that it made a difference. The long nights they spent drinking cheap beer and talking about family and life were long forgotten. They weren't as close now. He was probably fucking someone he just met, or getting drunk. Did he mention he'd go to your house to see you? Maybe. Ivar had stopped listening whenever your name came up, trying to avoid that rage he felt the last time he saw you, getting all cozy and giggly with Alfred. The fucking Alfred.
You always insisted he was only a friend, but he knew better, if he hadn't left you for Freydis, you'd probably have ended up leaving him for Alfred. He was better for you anyway.
Hi Ivar. Are you okay?
Why did you care? Were you thinking about him and suddenly wanted to know if he was okay? Did anyone say anything to you?
He had to hold back a smile when he saw your profile picture. It was you in Iceland, hugging one of the huskies Floki had on his house in Skógar. Freki, the husky you had fallen in love with, was infatuated with you, too, and Ivar found very amusing how he would follow you anywhere, trying to get your attention. It reminded him of himself, actually, annoyed when you diverted your attention to something that wasn't him. Ivar had a serious talk with the dog, explaining him that he wasn't allowed to get into bed with you, let alone cuddle you in your sleep, the only living being that could do that was Ivar.
He took that picture one morning you decided to take Freki for a walk. The husky had been so excited to see you that he had knocked you down to the floor, making you laugh. The picture had you looking at the camera, hugging Freki as he tried to lick your cheek.
When he locked his phone again, the warm tingling on his chest disappeared. It made him sigh, closing his eyes. Freydis was perfect, wasn't she? She was beautiful, sweet, she loved him. She made him understand he was special, that he needed no one but her.
She was perfect. She was the one, and she loved him as much as he did, she always said it. At least a few times a day, she smiled sweetly and said that she loved him, so that meant she loved him, right? You didn't say it that much. But then again, you would have never left him alone knowing he was in pain.
Shaking his head, he unlocked his phone again and wrote a quick text.
Yeah, thanks.
Then he deleted your number. He didn't want to see that photo with Freki, smiling at him, he didn't want to think about you or about what you would have done. You weren't part of his life anymore.

Shrimp Dick Azog.
Kili x reader, requested by anon.
Summary: Kili convinces you to to join him on hiding from his royal duties as a prince.
Word count: 2899
Warnings: Language , sorry watched Moulin rouge.
So, you hadn't actually grown up with Kili and Fili, more like bloody thrown from the sky a year ago, into their world. Not their world, middle earth. Was not the best thing you wanted, you had just been walking down the stairs with a lightsaber, why a lightsaber? You knew the answer, whether it was yours or someone else's, you knew.
Oh, the dwarves did not like that at all. Surrounding you in a circle a circle , most under average height men, one tall old man and a cute curly haired toddler. Activating the lightsaber, glowing blue, humming as you held it, several confused faces around you.
"Witch!" The men definitely did not know of the modern world, you thought you had landed right into 17th century.
"I do not know what your game is, kidnapping me , but I will use this, stay back!" Feeling like Wendy from the shining, swinging the lightsaber.
Swoosh.
Woosh
Pssshhew
vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvVVVVVVVVVVVv
vvvvvvvvvvVVVVVVvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvWWWVV.
Yeah wasn't long after that you were a part of the company, you had a higher purpose according to Gandalf, so be it. Okay, it would've been horrifying if you had accidentally hit one of the dwarves when you first met them, not long would they have killed you. Why? Because some how it had became real getting into this world.
Basically you were a padawan and a Jedi master at the same time, highly dangerous with no experience. Was this necessary for the Gods to do this? No it was not, however , Lili just misses Obi-wan, okay?
Being very young, not a minor, but young in the eyes of the dwarves being between the ages 60 and 300. You had been befriended by Fili and Kili quickly;even if you were shy and made friends difficultly. They welcomed you and made you feel comfortable, oh don't get me started on little Ori. He knitted you a blanket within an hour of your arrival, he wasn't just the youngest , he was the sweetest.
Kili right off the back he was a teasing, you weren't sure if he just wanted to get a hold of the lightsaber. Of course you couldn't just be Fili or Kili's friend you had to be both, they were not just brothers, they were best friends.
You did end up being best friends with both, Kili on a slightly higher level.
At the battle of the five armies, no one stood a chance, the orcs struggled to defend themselves from the lightsaber. Though, you should've let Thorin killed Azog he would not have made it. So, you had simply cut Azogs shrimp dick off and then sliced him in half.
Thus, the battle was won, saving the line of Durin was your greater purpose.
Though, once Azog was defeated Fili and Kili had run into the ice ,unharmed mostly , towards you and their uncle. Kili had slipped pretty fast, smacking his face right into the solid ice, you were surprised he didn't break his nose. Fili went to stop but his younger brother was already back on his feet grinning larger than ever running again.
Your lightsaber still on, humming in the background, stuck out to the side. Thorin heavily breathed, his arms crossed like he was not exhausted , thankful his nephews were safe.
"Oh, OH, who did that?" Kili and Fili smiling up to their uncle and you briefly before Kili had noticed the tiny dick on the floor. Maybe Kili had trouble distinguishing what the small thing was, Fili and Thorin joining in to look. Thorin's face snapping back to yours with disgust ,sighing.
"Y/n, you cut Azogs cock off?" Jabbing Kili in his ribs, at his language , Fili had let out a snort of laughter, patting you on the back.
"I'm sorry, who killed him? Me? So,"
Kili hadn't hesitated picking up the small dick, with two fingers, holding it up to you, too close, stepping back, he had stepped forward.
"Stay back, stay back, I'll kill you with the lightsaber or I will run away with Legolas I always wanted to taste a princess's puss- STAY BACK."
The rest of the company not long after had made it to the four of you, and the shrivelled dick was taken and put on to a cocktail stick . Placed in a glass box on display to present their power towards the Orcs. You were not sure really why they thought that would be a good idea.
Imagine bomber comes in and mistakes it for cocktail sausage.
Erebor was reclaimed, you Bilbo welcome to stay for your contribution to the quest, not just because you saved their stupid arses. Anyone could have seen that was a trapped. Bilbo had went home not long after, promising he would come back, he just really wanted to check on his hole. You having nowhere else to go you stayed.
Though it was a good idea to start, as Erebor filled up the less time you spent with the brothers. The royal duties pulled them away constantly. It was not like you exactly fitted in, you were human, you didn't have a beard to your hips, you were a 'warrior' now but that was because you a had a fucking lightsaber.
Most days you'd be in your chambers with a book, good from the kitchen, or taking your little money from the quest to the now rebuilt markets of dale. It was hard to make friends, so, you were alone. Sometimes you'd visit Bofur in his toy shop or Ori in the library.Frankly , you went to Ori often, he gave the best book suggestions.
You rarely saw Fili or Kili anymore unless they were rushing by you in the halls in a hurry , not even glancing at you.
A whole month of being alone had went by, on that night you began to pack. You figured to go visit Bilbo before heading Gondor, it had been without an heir for years, with Ecthelion II as the steward. Minas Tirith was the city of man, you had no where else to go. Unless you lived in Mirkwood as a witch.
With your bag packed, you left your chambers, during the night, early morning, so that you would not be questioned. Your shoes tapping against the stone , leading yourself out of Erebor quickly.
At the top of a set of stairs is when you head it, the pounding against the stone someone was running. Rushing down the stairs , at an increasing speed, trying not to trip. "Y/n?"
Your face. Your race. The way you talk, I kiss you are beautiful. You knew that voice, the voice of a flirt now panic, as you ran towards the entrance of Erebor.
"Y/n, wait!" But you didn't you continued running as fast as you could, ignoring Kili's pleads that echoed through the empty halls. Well, until you tripped landing flat on your face, against the cold stone, just as Kili had.
"Y/n!" Rushing towards you still, he had knelt by you, flipping you on your back, your eyes shut and motionless. "Please , don't be dead." His voice soft, letting out a load dramatic sob, you were not sure if it was real, his hands on your cheeks squishing them. Pushing his hands off you forcefully, sitting up to look at him. The moon light brightening his face from the sark halls, only a few candles were lit.
"I'm not dead; just wanted you to go away." His shoulders sank , as did the smile he gave you, his chestnut eyes dulled looking over your form and your bag.
"Where are you going...y/n?"
There was no point lying, you were clearly going somewhere, no I'm not going anywhere bullshit.
"Gondor."
"Gondor? Gondor?! Why would you go there? What do you have there?" He was not happy, you both just sitting on the cold floor, staring at your feet as Kili stared you down.
"What do I have here? I've done what I was meant to." Kili had scoffed in annoyance his face scrunching up as you stood from the floor.
"You cannot be serious. Y/n/n, please, I was coming to see you before I saw you in the hall. Don't leave."
"Well, that's lovely."
"Y/n, please don't leave me, please..." The voice soft, cracking into a higher pitch, your feet halted in place.
"Walk me back to my room."
With that, Kili did a bright smile on his lips, grabbing your bag, and your hand. As he skipped to your room, pressing a large kiss to your cheek.
"See you in the morning, love!"
You were alone again, sleeping in your bed with all the furs over you, you fell into slumber. What only felt like minutes had been hours , waking up from your door being slammed open. You forgot to lock it... Jumping out of sleep to see who was there, your hair stuck to your face , your eyes sagging.
Closing the door, there stood Kili smiling at you panting, his hair wind swept, leaning against your door. You had let out a groans falling back onto your pillow, your eyes slamming shut. For a moment there was no sound no nothing, but you knew you would not be able to go back to sleep. Especially when Kili had jumped onto your bed, specifically onto the pillow next to yours.
Turning your head to the side, there laid Kili his head held up by his hand with his arm in a triangle. Yeah on his side, that pose, grinning at you.
"Good morning." Half tempted to grab your pillow and cover his face with it you had let out a moan again, flipping to face the other way. The bed got lighter, Kili had left no he had not, he was going to do something you wouldn't like. Seconds later, the squeaking of draws being opened , hit you, you were not getting more sleep.
Your eyes now wide, after rubbing the sleep from them, sitting up against your pillow- You could clearly see Kili going through your draws picking items of clothing out. Wait, what was he wearing? He had a long brunette wig on. Hold on he was not picking out one outfit, but two. Did he think you were the same size?
"I'll buy you more." Like he knew what you were thinking, he turned and threw some clothing at you. "Hurry up, I need you to help me." His tone serious, not harsh nor loud just differently his flirtatious usual tone. There was no point arguing, the stubbornness of dwarves.
Going behind the divider after peeing you had gotten dressed quickly. "Take your tunic , and pants off, put on the undergarments for when I'm done." Standing still for a moment Kili watched your shadow, opening his mouth to disagree but quickly closing it. He wondered about how you did not even question what was going on.
After it was clear for you to come out, Kili had thought you would laugh, but instead you loosened corset lifting it over his head and over the shift. "Do you want it tight?" Your casual tone, caused Kili to become distracted, your hands gripping the strings waiting.
"I'm sorry, did you say t-tight?" Kili looked at you in the body sized mirror his cheeks pinched pink noticing you holding the corset strings. "Oh, just believable not too tight." Kili's mind was somewhere else. Letting out a dramatic cough at the slightest pull you had decided that was enough, he'd moan for the rest of the day. You hadn't been used to these dresses either , you rarely wore them, only since you had been in Erebor. That was only for special events, today must be one of them.
The petticoat already on him, helping him into the hoop. Keeping his own shoes, you had pulled the final dress layer on him, helping him with his wig no gloves his hands were too big. Okay he had thick arse, muscular chest so he looked like dam. Kili stood before you, dressed in your clothes, he had only stubble , passing as a Darrow dam would not be hard.
"Truly beautiful, Kee." As he spun around in front of the mirror before stopping in front of you, grinning widely. "You think?" Nodding at him, he spun again. "As do you ,my lady." You had scoffed, as you brushed your hair.
"Why did you need me do this?" Dramatically he had turned back to you with his mouth open. "You of course, how else am I supposed to get out of my duties, if everyone can recognise me?" That was very clever for Kili anyways, had he been thinking about this for a while?
“Well, what are you going to do today, Miss?”
“We are going to flirt with old men.”
“What?”
“Come on, we have some mischief to cause.”
That’s how you ended up at a ball, which Thorin was fuming because he could not find his nephew, Fili had told Dis that Kili had went to Dale for Bofur. She did not believe it. A ball without a Prince? Disgraceful.
Whereas he was there, with you. Pretending to be well behaved woman as you ate food and drank. Music playing in the background...wait was that Jareth singing? Yes it was, sorry about that, oh and Freddie Mercury? What? I’m sorry Kenobi too?
Men approaching the both of you, Kili laughing along with their jokes, and slapping them ‘gently’ on their shoulders, one had dropped their glass, rubbing their shoulders when walking away.
It was very embarrassing when both of you were facing the food table when you had been tapped on the shoulder. “Can I have a dance, my lady?” Both of you turning around, at the same time, Fili’s eyes widened when seeing it was you.
“Oh, Y/n, you look absolutely lovely, and who is your friend?” His eyes meeting Kili as he sipped his drink, spitting his drink all over Kili. His eyes travelling up and down his brother in shock and disbelief.
“Kili?!”
“Shh! I am Keanu, of the blue mountains.” Fili had looked back at you covering your face from trying not to cry with laughter, his face reddened snorting out a laugh too.
“This was his idea wasn’t it?” Nodding at the Prince he had bust out with laughter, lifting your hand to his lips pressing a kiss to your knuckles before travelling away, towards Dwalin...
“Would you like to dance, y/n?” It was not strange for woman to dance together, nodding, he had grabbed your hand as the song changed, leading you to the floor. Heroes tune playing , anything is possible.
‘And you, you can be mean.’
‘And I, I’ll drink all the time.’
‘Cause we’re lovers’
The two of you elbows locked as you swung around together, dancing around , Kili had even lifted you above his head like he was Patrick Swayze. You told him you couldn’t do that back. Eventually ended up become tired really fast, your heads in each other’s shoulders, careful Kili’s wif did not fall off.
Swaying together, your eyes locking as smiling at each other, giddy. Kili’s eyes flickered down to your lips for split second before returning to your eyes, trouble is what comes from that smirk.
“You know what would really cause a scene?” Shaking your head slightly, frightened, well not really.
“If we kissed, right now.” Your heart pounding in your chest, he wasn’t seriously surely? His hand reaching to cup your chin, his chestnut eyes glistening in the yarn light.
“What are you are you asking, Kili?” You weren’t sure if he even heard your whisper over the noise of the ball.
“Y/n/n, darling, can I kiss you?”
“Yes.” His lips were upon yours pressing a long peck against your soft lips, before pulling away from them. The cold air hitting your lips from the loss of warmth. Cheeks pink ad you looked at Kili. “You know, I love you, Y/n.”
“Yes, I lov-“ Though your confession was cut short, as several gasps had alerted Thorin and most of the original company, as well as Dis. Who all saw some of what had just happened, yes lesbian relationships did happen in middle earth just not often. Nor were they so public.
“Y/n!” Thorin called you other, your hand intertwined with Kili’s you pulled him with you, towards Thorin, Dis, Fili , and Dwalin. Thorin’s disproving gaze on both of you, jealous not disproving, he longed for a certain small fellow.
“I am sorry to disrupt your night with your date, but for your safety I must advise you do n-“ “ Kili?!” Dis had interrupted her brother, Dwalin had sighed under his breath. Thorins head had snapped to his sister looking around for Kili with no luck. Until, he had followed her eyes, to next you.
“Kili?!” Smirking at his uncle, oh gosh he looked like he was going to have a stroke, how could he not see it, this was like Clark Kent with no glasses just a wig.
“Sorry, this is Keanu, Kili is in Dale at the moment.”

You're My Life Now
Dawn had always been Peter's favourite time of day, he couldn't tell why, but there was something so peaceful about it. A time when the world seemed less corrupt,a time when you could just be still, be one with nature.
Nothing about this day had particularly stood out to Peter, there was nothing to suggest as he got ready for his usual early morning perimeter run to suggest that anything out of the ordinary was about to take place.
He'd been doing this run, every morning for almost two years now and nothing had happened yet. As one of the famous Mendes Triplets and Beta alongside his brother Raul to their eldest brother Shawn (Alpha of the infamous Shadowmoon Pack) Peter took his responsibility extremely seriously. He'd always been the sensible one out of the three of them, or at least the most level-headed one.
Shawn was an amazing Alpha,Peter had always admired his ability to lead, his empathy his compassion, but he could also let his emotions rule him, which could cause problems sometimes. Especially if there was a disagreement between the three brothers. Raul on the other hand, was, well, Raul. Fiery, and passionate and a bit of a trouble maker, he liked to stir the pot whenever possible and unfortunately for Peter he always seemed to be the piece keeper,to stop arguments (usually caused by some snide comment that Raul would make in the heat of the moment which he always regretted later).
Whenever anyone spoke of Peter the first things they'd say was that he was extremely loyal, always ready to help and would protect his loved ones with his life. He'd been like this as long as he could remember.
As Peter stood up from tying his shoe laces, putting his glasses on, he noticed the sheeting rain outside his window. It was so heavy that it was actually hitting the window, leaving large water droplets on the once clear glass. He sighed, it wasn't that he minded the rain, it didn't make a difference to him as to whether he got wet or not,he never felt the cold as a wolf anyway. But it would make it harder, more tedious to complete the run, he'd have to pay extra attention to his surroundings,to the sights, smells and sounds.
"I'm headed on my run," Peter called to Shawn and Raul as he past the kitchen where the two of them were making coffee and talking about day ahead.
"Thanks Pete," came Shawn's reply."I'll be in the surgery with Connor later if ya need me," Pete nodded as he made his way out the front door and into the rain.
The first part of the run was pretty easy, flat ground, open, easy to see the fields that sprawled unchecked for miles ahead. He made it in good time, easily nativagsting the familiar territory with no issues.
He was halfway home when he saw object up ahead. At first he couldn't make it out, even with his wolf-enhanced eyesight the sheeting rain was obscuring his view.As he made his way slowly closer, mindful that it might be some sort of a trap from the rogue wolves that were constantly trying to ambush their lands,he spotted the fabric. It was slightly covered by the truck of a tree, only half visible, but Pete was sure, it was definitely fabric from a tee-shirt.
It wasn't uncommon to find old clothes in random places around the lands, wolves would hide them in convenient spots so when they phased back to their human form they were able to dress themselves without hassle. Even Peter did it. But something about the way the shirt was sitting, haphazardly, carelessly, on the ground caught and held Peter's attention. Something told him it wasn't right.
As he made his way slowly closer the wind changed and he was hit with scent, overpowering his senses, causing him to falter momentarily.
It was the sweetest most intoxicating scent he'd ever smelt, like Rosewater and Ivy perfectly blended together. He took his glasses off pocketing them in the hope that not having the rain-covered glass in front of his eyes might allow him to see better.
As he stepped closer still, the clothing moved Peter stilled, watching waiting,a few seconds later it moved again, rolling over. It was then that Peter realised with horror, that this was not just an old disguarded set of clothing, this was a person, and a hybrid wolf at that, half human, half wolf he realised when another gust of wind sent a stronger wave of scent towards him.
He rushed forward no longer fearing an attack, only concerned for the welfare of this person. As he rounded the tree he got his first proper look at the person. It was a young girl. She looked to be about Peter's age. The first thing that struck Peter was not her bedraggled appearance- the way her dirty blonde hair hung around her face, sticking to her forehead and cheeks, not the mud that was caked into almost every part of her, not even the slashed in her faded green sweater that had obviously been made by wolves claws or the blood that was seeping out from the large wound beneath it and the several other cuts and bruises that peppered her small fragile body. No. The first thing that Peter registered was the look of fear, of terror as the girl made eye contact with him.
"D-dont come near me," the girl stuttered, a mixture of cold and fear Peter was sure.
He held his hands up in surrender, "Please don't be scared," he spoke softly, voice almost drowned out by the rain as he made his way closer still, now less than a foot away from the girl- young woman really.
Up close Peter could see the way her mascara was running from her eyelashes, leaving small black smudges under her red bloodshot eyes. "I'm not going to hurt you, I only want to help,I promise. My name is Peter."
She looked at him for a moment, seeming to weigh up what he was saying. "But you're a wolf," she pointed out. She was perceptive, Peter thought.
"Yes, I am," he admitted, watching as her eyebrows knitted together with fear again.
"And the other wolves hurt me," she chocked on a sob, looking away from him.
Peter reached out, placing a finger on her jaw, gently turning her head to look at him again. As soon as he made contact his whole hand began to tingle, and he felt the butterflies that so many other wolves had spoken of so fondly."Mate," he heard his wolf Timbre purr protectively from inside his head. He felt dizzy, slightly intoxicated now and had to shake his head a few times to clear his mind, to keep himself on the task at hand. If he didn't do something soon, he would have no mate to protect.
"But these are my lands- my pack's lands,my older brother Shawn is the Alpha, when he hears about what happend he'll send out a group to go out and deal with them. I promise you you're safe with me, with us," he was almost pleading with her by the end, but he didn't know what else to do.
"Just, please let me get you some help," he added, feeling the sting of tears in his eyes as the thought of what would happen if she didn't go with him ran through his head over and over again.
"How?" she asked. Looking up at Peter with wide eyes. Her eyes were so blue,it was like getting lost in the ocean.
"My brother,Shawn, when he's not working as the Alpha, he's a doctor, he'll be able to help you. I'll take you to him.I promise you'll be safe.
She nodded, water flying off her face, still not seeming entirely convinced, but she relaxed a little, her shoulders loosening just a little,as she reached for Peter's hand, surprising him. He took it feeling the tingles again, more than happy to have any contact with her that she'd allow. He wasn't sure if she was ignoring the feeling or simply in too much pain to notice, either way she said nothing.
"What's your name?" he asked, not breaking eye contact.
"J-Josie," she answered clearly still apprehensive. She watched his every move.
"Okay, it's nice to meet you Josie. Can you show me where you're injuried? I don't want to cause you anymore pain when I lift you," he asked, "apart from the gash on your stomach?"
"My back hurts," she told him, and my head. I feel kinda dizzy," she added, almost as an after thought. Peter didn't know much about medicine, bit what he did know was that it usually wasn't good when someone said their head hurt and they were dizzy. He knew he needed to get her home, out of the rain, to Shawn. They'd only been talking 5 minutes, but already she looked more pale, and slightly drowsy. He had trouble hiding his panic as he spoke again.
"Can I see?" she nodded, so he let go of her hand reluctantly and made his way around so he was behind her, slowly peeling back the layers of fabric to reveal a large oozing gash that ran from her left shoulder to the small of her back. She let out a whimper as the air and rain but it, making Peter's heart squeeze. The last thing he ever wanted to do was hurt his mate, when one mate hurt the other hurt."I'm so sorry," he apologised when she sniffled.
"Alright, let's get you inside," he murmured, coming back around and squatting so he was in front of her, automatically holding his hand out for her to take again. He could see how tired and scared she was and his heart literally ached."I know you hardly know me, but I think the quickest way to do this will be if I carry you, will you allow me to do that?" he asked softly, patiently waiting for a response.
She nodded again, and he wasted no time in carefully picking her up, trying his best to avoid her injuries.
That didn't stop her from letting out a scream.
"I know, I'm so so sorry," he whispered trying to console her.
She didn't say anything, instead curling into his body further, head resting softly on his shoulder. Peter couldn't help the small smile that pulled at his lips as he thought about the fact that she was already seeming to seek his comfort, his warmth. This was what he'd dreamt of since the day he turned 18 and was old enough to have a mate.
He ran as fast as he could, trying to be careful not to move her too much, and to shelter her from the pouring rain. He knew that if he'd shifted he would have been quicker making it back to the house, but she was terrified, and clearly in no way to be holding onto his back as he ran, somewhere along the way she past out, head rolling unsupported as he ran, making Pete panic more.
After what felt like an age, the house came into site, spurring him on to run harder. He sprinted the last 20 metres, and up the front porch stairs, banging on the door to get someone, anyone's attention. Finally, Connor came to the door.
"The door was open, why didn't you just-" he stopped taking in the unconscious young woman in his arms. "Holy crap," he whistled. "Where'd you find her?" he asked as Peter pushed through the doorway forcing Connor to step sideway to avoid being hit.
"Down by the south border," he answered moving further into the house. "She needs medical attention is Shawn still in the surgery?" he asked as he went to go up the first flight of stairs.
"Here, let me take her, you can get changed and meet us up there," he offered, holding his arms out for him to hand Josie over.
Peter immediately recoiled, baring his teeth,a soft growl eminating from his throat.
Connor stepped back a look of deep shock and confusion on his face. "Peter what the?" he started before he connected the dots, a large smile wiping the look of confusion from his features."Pete, did you, is she?" he asked tripping over his words.
Peter nodded,"But she's a hybrid Con, so we need to get her upstairs," he spoke, wasting no time waiting for his reply. Connor rushed past him so he could open the door to the surgery. The familiar smell of disinfectant hit Peter's nose as they walked in.
"Shawn, we need you right now," Connor called out, as they rushed through the front area and into one of the many consultation rooms.
Peter could hear Shawn making his way through the surgery as he placed Josie down carefully on the table, immediately missing the contact.
"What have we got?" Shawn asked, walking through the door, before stopped short as Connor had minutes before. "Pete, where'd you find her?" he asked grabbing a pair of gloves from the dispenser on the wall and making his way over to the bed. "She's got some nasty injuries," Shawn muttered as he surveyed Josie's body. He went to move her shirt away from her stomach, an automatic response,to make a better judgement, but Peter felt an immense feeling of protectiveness wash over him again at another male, even his brother, who was trying to help, touching his mate.
He couldn't help the growl that slipped out as Shawn pulled back the fabric exposing her stomach and the nasty gash which Josie had shown Peter in the field.
"What's your problem Peter," Shawn laughed, turning to him, "I'm doing my job little bro,"
"You're touching her, you'll hurt her," he snarled very unlike himself. He knew logically that what he was saying wasn't true, but he couldn't help it.
"Peter, as if I'm going to hurt her, I'm literally trying to do the opposite," he stopped watching the way Peter's gaze never left Josie and something clicked. "Peter is she your mate?" he asked beaming.
"Yeah," Pete chocked on the word.
"Congratulations man," Shawn smiled again. "It's a big step finding your mate, what's her name?" he spoke knowingly. He'd found his mate Ava two years earlier, and Raul a year ago with Mia. They were both always so happy, so settled and finally Peter could have that too.
"Thanks Shawn,Josie, how, how bad is she?" he asked, almost wishing Shawn wouldn't answer.
"Well, from what I've seen so far, not great if I'm being honest, she's lost a lot of blood and the gashes on her stomach and shoulder look like they're getting infected, and if I'm being truthful I don't like the fact that she's not conscious. But I need to have a closer look. Will you trust me?" he asked.
Peter sat for a minute taking in what his brother had said," Can I hold her hand?" he asked embarrassed, cheeks heating up.
Shawn looked at him knowingly," Of course mate, here, sit on this. It'll actually be good. Having contact with you will help to keep her calm," he agreed, pushing a rolling chair with his foot for Pete to sit on."Where'd you find her, what happened?" he asked as he went to a cupboard and pulled a thick blanket out. Normally the wolves didn't need them, but they were kept on hand for the youngsters as a comfort tactic."She's freezing, borderline hyperthermic," he added as he took her temperature gently, Peter watching his every move as he then carefully lay the blanket over her.
"By the south border, I didn't realise it was her at first, I thought someone had left a pile of clothes," Peter admitted feeling guilty,"but when I got closer I saw that it was her and then her scent hit me and I knew. She was pretty reluctant to trust me at first," he added,"Shawn, she said wolves did it."
Shawn shook his head, as he went about hooking her up to different monitors, getting an I.V. with antibiotics in, listening to her chest and checking her pupils with a penlight. "We've had a problem with rogues recently, I'm so sorry Peter, I'll get a party together to deal with them," he added as Peter expected. "Connor," he called out, and it was only then that Peter realised that he'd left the room.
"Yeah?"
"Get Raul up here, I need to talk to him about the rogue problem," he was angry, Shawn was passionately against rogues and what they stood for and everyone knew it.
"I'm going to have to try and wake her up buddy, I need to know what sort of head injury we're dealing with."
Peter nodded, watching as Shawn placed a hand on her sternum and rubbed. He couldn't help the growl that once again slipped his lips. "I'm sorry mate, I wouldn't be doing it unless I had to," he looked genuinely apologetic.
A small whine left Josie's lips, and Peter was on his feet in a matter of seconds looking down at his mate anxiously.
"Josie, can you hear me, if you can hear me, give Peter's hand a squeeze."
Peter nodded, feeling his heart swell with relief as he felt her do as asked.
She opened her eyes, slowly taking everything in, before a panic set in and she tried to sit up."Hey, hey, take it easy," Pete, comforted, gently stopping her from sitting up and hurting herself further.
"You're safe here,do you remember me, I'm Peter?" he asked. She looked up at him with wide frantic eyes before recognition crossed her face and she relaxed into his grip.
"This is Shawn, my brother, he's the one I was telling you about," he added when she looked over warily at Shawn. "He's going to fix you up okay."
"It's nice to meet you Josie," Shawn smiled kindly at the young woman."How are you feeling?"
"Tired, sore, can I have some water?" she asked, voice strained.
"Of course," Shawn grabbed a disposable cup and filled it with water from the tap, holding it out to her.
Shawn went about checking her over, happily reporting that she only had a minor concussion, before numbing her up and carefully sewing her wounds closed. The whole time she clung to Peter like her life depended on it, but he didn't mind. He was happy to be able to provide the comfort.
There was a knock at the door and Raul walked in, not waiting for a response, only stopping as Shawn had at the sight of Josie.
"Who,what?" he looked between the three of them confused.
"This is Josie, she's Peter's mate," Shawn put emphasis on the word. "She was attacked by rogues and I need you to go out and find them, deal with them, do what you have to," Shawn spoke, not saying what both Peter and Raul knew he meant. End them.
Raul nodded, turning for the door, "Congrats little bro, best thing that'll ever happen to you," he smiled before leaving the room.
"Congratulations?" Josie asked looking up at him. Peter sighed, he hadn't wanted to tell her like this, he'd wanted to wait but he also didn't want to lie to her. He looked at Shawn who nodded."Josie, when we were in the field, did you feel anything when I touched your hand, a tingling?" he prompted.
Her eyebrows knit together, before she spoke,"Y-yeah?"
He took her hand again, "You're my mate Josie," he spoke carefully, waiting with baited breath for her response.
She was quiet for a moment, before a soft smile graced her features. Peter thought it was the most beautiful thing he'd ever seen.
"I am?" she asked, teary, surprising both the men.
"Please don't cry," Peter spoke quicky. "I promise you, I'll look after you with my life."
She shook her head,"It's not like that,my dad was a wolf, that's how I knew you were a wolf when we met in the clearing. I'm happy," she laughed, leaning into Peter's chest a little more.
Shawn beamed as he took in the cute sight before him,"You're okay for now, I'll leave you two alone," he spoke before excusing himself.
They sat in silence for a while, just happy to be in each other's company, still getting used to the feel of one another, the smell, the presence.
"Thank you," she whispered, eyes half open as she lay abck on Peter's chest.
"For what?" Peter murmured.
"For saving me."
"No Josie, thank you, you saved me," he countered, gently running his hands through her now only damp hair, causing her to shiver. "You are my life now."

Parting Gifts (Winters at Kaer Morhen 1)
The wind changes and the first whiffs of thaw begin to flicker in the air. Up in the peaks of Kaer Morhen the ice and snow still hold unmoved, but Geralt can smell the spring stirring in the foothills when the wind blows just right.
Eskel, Lambert and Vesemir can smell it too. His brothers pace like he does, knowing soon they’ll start making ready. Vesemir smiles, small and restrained, and hides in his study more than usual. The old man does get a bit misty sometimes when it’s time for the three of them to leave.
Except it’s not three this year. It’s four.
Jaskier, for all his lack of Witcher senses, seems to feel the spring in the air too. He keeps singing about flowers and mornings, entire landscapes crafted out of song, the plucking of his lute strings somehow fresh like a stream.
It’s his first winter at Kaer Morhen and it’s been... good. More than good. Kaer Morhen doesn’t have much luxury to offer, and most of its splendour has crumbled away when viewed up close, but it has plenty of fire in the hearth, a steady routine of filling meals, soft beds with furs and blankets for comfort, and all the hot water for bathing one could want.
To Geralt, these things are a luxury, never mind that they take turns peeling vegetables and chopping wood (Jaskier turned out to be remarkably skilled at both and was put to work accordingly), but there had been a thorn of anxiety prickling somewhere in the back of Geralt’s mind as he led Jaskier up the mountain, walking ahead to shield him from the worst of the snow billowed in their faces by icy cold winds. Jaskier is no stranger to sleeping rough on the road and making do with whatever food can be found in leaner times, and he does it with cheerful indifference or colourful swearing and whinging. But Geralt had worried that Jaskier might expect Kaer Morhen to be... well, more. More than what actually awaited him. He seemed to have built it up into a heroic fantasy of a fortress in his mind, and the higher they climbed and the more Jaskier shivered and murmured comforting things to himself about food and bedding, Geralt worried that he would be disappointed.
As it turned out, he needn’t have worried. Jaskier gasped his awe when the keep first loomed into view, and ate three helpings of the thick, hot stew they were greeted with. Even tired, he was delighted to meet Eskel and Lambert and Vesemir, and he grinned when Geralt was teased about finally bringing him along. And when at last it was time to retire after the final and most gruelling stretch of their journey, Jaskier slept like a log, in Geralt’s bed, in Geralt’s arms, wrapped in furs and blankets and snoring lightly into Geralt’s chest.
Winter drags slow and lazy, its days filled with chores and sparring and idleness, but it still comes to an end. And as much as Geralt enjoyed having Jaskier here, with him, safe and warm and filling the keep with his cheerful voice, he’s also looking forward to resuming their life on the Path. To warmer days and new sights and having Jaskier all to himself again – as quietly happy as he is that his brothers and Vesemir have taken to Jaskier so much, he’s looking forward to it being just the two of them again.
Eskel is the one to head out first, as he usually does, braving the mountain pass while it’s still snowed over. He exchanges embraces with Lambert and Geralt, and then he pulls Jaskier into one as well.
“For you,” he says, putting something small in Jaskier’s hand. “Thank you for my songs. I... look forward to hearing them on the road.”
“Oh,” says Jaskier, surprised but clearly touched. “Thank you, that’s quite terribly sweet of you, my friend!” He turns the small gift over in his fingers, a little confused (from where Geralt is standing it looks like a coin, but he has enough dignity to not strain to try and get a better look). “This is very, erm... what is it?”
Eskel grins.
“Relax. Geralt will tell you what to do with it. Just... something to keep you safe out there.”
Geralt bristles, because he’s very much dedicated to keeping Jaskier safe just fine, fuck you, Eskel – but he tries to stamp out that impulse.
“I must say, your brother is a darling,” coos Jaskier later, once Eskel is gone, and for all the teasing aimed at Geralt, there’s genuine warmth in his tone.
“Hmm.”
“Oh, come, come, you know you’re my favourite... so, my dear, what am I supposed to do with this? I’m intrigued!”
Geralt recognises the small metal disc engraved with protective symbols the moment it’s placed in his hand.
“An amulet,” he says. “Sew it into a bag or a case and it puts a mild protective charm on what’s inside. Helps keep things safe for travellers.”
And Jaskier does so love his lute. And of course Eskel noticed. It's... good. That he cares. Jaskier deserves care. Which is why Geralt hums and smiles a little as Jaskier trills his delight over his gift and proceeds to sew it into his lute case, tongue sticking out as he sits on their bed, dressed for sleep.
Lambert leaves next. Normally, Geralt would head out with him, keep him company on the descent, but this year he wants to wait a little longer, to make sure the pass is fine for Jaskier to cross.
On the morning of his departure, Lambert pulls Geralt into his room and shoves something into his hand.
“For Jaskier,” he grunts, because he’s never dealt well with being upstaged.
It’s another fucking amulet, of course. This one is to ward off the evil eye or something along those lines. Geralt can’t help but snort.
“Hey, fuck you,” snaps Lambert. “You’re the one always complaining about how many times you had to save his arse from a cuckolded husband! Or other enemies.”
“Yeah, and I always do save it.”
“You’re not always there! And Geralt, he’s so... you know. Breakable,” Lambert says with concern that clearly shows he’s never seen Jaskier kick a burly mercenary in the crotch.
Geralt has. Twice.
“Fine. Give it to him yourself.” He grins, leaning back against a wall, because he never passes up an opportunity to taunt Lambert.
Lambert hisses, which Geralt is going to chalk up to that mysterious Cat he’s been spending time with.
“Would you stop being a dick for five minutes – honestly, I don’t know what he sees in you!”
“Hmm,” says Geralt, because most days he doesn’t know either, and other days he tries not to wonder about it. “Fine, if you’re going to cry about it.”
“Fuck you!”
Geralt grins. “That’s Jaskier’s job.”
Jaskier may claim to be a lover, not a fighter, but Geralt has seen him handle himself in tavern brawls and other fights plenty of times. Still, Jaskier beams and prattles his delight at Lambert’s thoughtfulness and promptly slips the gift in his pocket. Lambert will definitely bribe his way into another song with this, the bastard.
When at last it’s time for Geralt and Jaskier to leave, Vesemir approaches them with a small, worn-out book in his hands, and Geralt uses most of his willpower to keep his eyebrows from climbing up to his hairline.
“With thanks for caring so for our library this winter,” the old man says, handing Jaskier the book. Something shrewd plays in his eyes. “You’ll always be welcome here, Jaskier.”
It’s a book about the uses of forest plants and mushrooms for poisons and antidotes (mostly poisons), and Jaskier’s eyes gleam eagerly at the sight. Vesemir has always been a sharp judge of character. Geralt bites his lip and turns his head away to hide a smile.
Up in the peaks the snow still lies thick, and Geralt makes sure Jaskier’s new winter cloak (a proper cloak, not a flimsy piece of decoration) is secure around him, but this high up, in the clear blue skies, the spring sun smarts hot already, and Jaskier tilts his face to meet it with a laugh. He sings to snowdrops when, a while down, they find them popping up through the snow, and he tells Roach about all the juicy meadows she’ll soon be grazing on.
“Ah, the freedom of the open road again!” he announces, spreading his arms wide in that way he has, like he’s embracing the whole world. “Don’t get me wrong, my dear,” he carries on, taking Geralt’s hand in his, “Kaer Morhen was lovely, and I’m very honoured to have been invited, but it’s nice to be just us two on the road again, is all.”
“Hmm,” says Geralt, because he understands, and because something still flutters in his chest whenever Jaskier expresses his happiness with staying at Kaer Morhen.
“What’s that I hear you say? I was a delight to have and I should come back every winter henceforth? Why, Geralt, you say the sweetest things!”
Jaskier grins at him, beaming in his face, but there’s a touch of performance about it, and Geralt tugs his hand and pulls him into a kiss.
“Yes,” he rumbles against Jaskier’s lips when they part. “That.”
This time, Jaskier’s smile is brighter than the clear skies above them.
The temperature drops as soon as the sun hides behind the peaks they’ve left behind, so they make camp before it’s completely dark. In their tent, shielded from the winds by a pile of snow (and which, in turn, shields Roach as well), they sit close together under blankets. In the light of their oil lamp Jaskier reads, engrossed in his new book of poisons, flicking eagerly through the pages and worryingly scribbling Valdo next to some entries. Despite the piercing cold and rapid variations in humidity, his lute is kept a little safer by Eskel's amulet sewn into its case, and Lambert’s gift stays tucked into his pocket.
It feels right, Geralt thinks, watching the light play soft and warm across Jaskier’s face as he carefully puts the book away. Geralt has his wolf medallion, something that signifies his bond with his brothers wherever he goes. Jaskier may not have one, but with these gifts, he too now has a link to the other Wolves, something to tie him to them until he returns next winter. And he did say he wants to return.
Pleased with the thought, Geralt pulls Jaskier closer and turns out the light.

FLAME (I) | CS

⁕ pairings: choi san x fem!reader
⁕ words: 2.3k
⁕ description: keeping the title of being the best student on campus isn’t easy for you, especially when your mind was occupied only by him and his annoying smirk, the popular bad boy who once decided to sets on fire your heart without anybody’s permission
⁕ warnings: explicit language, suggestive remarks, smoking & alcohol
read the prologue here!
"I like you."
“I might also like you.”
The overhelming idea of being loved by the most popular boy is like a scene taken from a cliché romcom, where the leads are blinded by the arrow of Amor, making it hard to believe his smooth words. His declaration of being the one, who would be beside you in your worst time, holding you tight in his arms is alluring like the sweetest candy. San's confession opens the heavily lock to your heart, which you hide in order to prevent yourself for falling into a twisted flame of love. You give in all of the tempations like a prey for the devil, the taste of hell creeps at your tongue leaving a taste for more. Angels can also fall from heaven.
His charming smile can only bring concerns to your already clouded mind.
Beginning of the spring starts the night after your defeat of vain attempts to return to the godly paradise, the events from yesterday filling your senses with a nerve-wracking anticipation but also a uneasy fear of being stuck in imaginations of your dreamland. The dead world which was once sworn by a snow blooms into a mesmerizing flower only to catch your attention, taking away the ability to breathe with him as a main culprit.
It's your favorite season after all, does wonders really exist to open a new path for you? You hope so.
The strong scent of cigarettes wakes you up to relief your anxious sleep as the rays of golden hours dances through the small space of your room, motivating you to sit up in order to get ready for a new dares. Mornings are always hard as you never liked the idea of being out of your comfort zone - the bed. You shiver at the coldness of your wooden floor, groaning in annoyance as you fail to locate your favourite pair of fluffy slippers. The clock at nightstand struck now at 5:34AM, signaling to start your day with a cup of warm coffee made by your roommate Seonghwa who is also one of his friends.
Making your way to the dresser in order to pull out a pair of jeans and a simple white tshirt, you scroll down trough your daily reminder of activites as you got a message from Seonghwa saying to hurry up before the breakfast could get cold. The small yawn escape your mouth as you curse in your head for his overdramatic ass, he is always nagging about you to his boyfriend Hongjoong, who is a leader of the gang ATEEZ, he and other boys belongs to. You had actually a couple of chances to met him, he is a devoted kid with the sweetest smile you have ever seen. Deep down your heart you know both of them cares for you, like a brothers who want nothing but the best for their little sister. Grabbing a brush at your desk, you comb your long hair to smooth it out before doing a gentle makeup on your face to look freshly new. The last glance at the reflection in the mirror satisfites you, smiling brightly as you leave the room with a delighted mood.
The magnificent breakfast at the large kitchen's counter is what greets you first with it's abundance, thanking to god for Seonghwa's kindly gesture and his angelic manners. You need to attack him with kisses later for being a perfect roommate you were craving for years. Taking a seat, you glance at the flawlessly baked pancakes with doze of fresh fruits, most of them strawberries as he exactly know from one of many shared conversations that they are your favourite fruits. To improve your mood even more in adcition there is also a coffee that you would yearn for all of morning. He was indeed a perfect roommate, a soft-hearted bad boy with a caring side contrasting with his opposite lifestyle.
You consume the meal in peace as the muffled voice could be heard at the end of balcony where Seonghwa and you would enjoy his morning routine which include of a cigarette and hot cocoa for him, praising you about being non-addicted to smoking and you with a plain black coffee, talking to a Bom who is your newly planted Dianthus. Curiosity won a battle against your guts as you ate the food and decide to go towards the balcony in order to greet your friend but the harsh smell of smoke hit your lungs, coughing in desperation for fresh air as you blink a couple of times.
The mesmerizing sight of San with cigarette between his long fingers looks like pulled straight out of the outstanding painting in which his acute jaw is carved with delicate caution and his honey glazed skin glows in the sun, being a living example of a descendant of god. San's cat like eyes meets yours in a rapid moment, the sound of thumping inside your heart increase as you gulp and you swear you could see the whole universe in them. Too many stars to count them all.
He puts out the source of smoke, brushing a hand through his hair with red streaks to sleak them back in order to see you better in the sunrise. No sign of Seonghwa, the only savior is now gone, making you question what was his excuse to leave you alone with San. "Did you sleep well, princess?" he asks, the hoarse of his voice send a shiver down your spine. "I heard you like to talk to Bom. Your friend seems to enjoy my company."
"Why are you here? Where is Seonghwa?"
"Ouch." San pouts in fake pain at your blunt question. "I wanted to see your pretty face." he smirks as he leans against the balcony grilles covered in flowers. "Seonghwa is at his room talking with his lover boy." You want to take a picture of this moment, to remember it everyday before going to sleep, at how his sparkling eyes are looking at you with adoration and his intoxicating scent is overhelming you.
Choi San is a epitome of a bad boy who dresses in all black, the leather jacket on his left shoulder, the other arm is being exposed by his tank top which perfectly shows his majestic tattoos. You don't know if all of them have deeper meanings, hiding the scars of past misakes or made just under the influence of youth. One catch your liking, the weathered cat on his forearm.
"Is that a cat?" you asks curiously, causing him to grin widely at your little interest in his persona as his face lit up like a sun to run away with your breath. His deep dimples makes apperance as you shyly smile back at him, containg the urge to put kisses all over them and tell him how truly beautiful they are. If someone could be more charming than him, you wouldn't be in hell right now.
Chuckling, he says. "Yeah, that's my cat. Her name is Byeol." he smiles at the mention of his lovable pet, he surely adores her with genious love. Being envious of cat is amusing, but you can't help the uncertainty to his feelings, wishing he just would love you the way he loves her. "It's old though."
You step forward in order to examine the tattoo by yourself at the close range, his well-built body radiates with power over your wits, the hot temperature filling you up with dizziness as you burst with desire when his skin make contact with yours. The feeling of his piercing eyes on your every movements is affecting you in the way you would never imagined, blushing like a kid who would be caught at the stealing his favourite cookie. Inhaling his sensual scent, you don't break the contact between the both of you as you bite your lips at the thoughts, clouding your mind because his flaming skin feels rights on your cold one. "No, I think it's cute despite it's condition."
San's face softens at your words. "If you say so." he says, grabbing your delicate hand in his, letting it wander all over his tattooed arm to left the trace of heaven he's long lost addicted to. Yours touch is like a drug to him, dangerous but worth it's price, taking away his common sense in order to make him a fool of your nonexsisting sins. Oh, how much he wants to to demolish you with his world.
The drowing out sound of both yours rapid heartbeatings is like the sweetest music to your ears which you listen to ease your uneasy feelings, shaking you to the core of lust in order to realise the pressure of his warm hands on your waist, pressing himself as close to you as possible. Clutching subtly at his black top you push him into your embrace, lips molds together in a quick moment as he pulls away completely and you feel cold and empty as he flashes you a sly grin.
"Oh my god, I'm sorry" you says paincked. “I don’t know what I’m doing.”
"It's okay, don't be sorry. I actually really like it." he says as he doesn’t give you the time to respond, choosing to press his lips hard against yours instead. You would lie if you say the butterflies inside your stomach doesn't burst the second his soft lips met yours, opening a whole new world to you.
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
San chuckles and grabs you by the chin but his touch is not rough, more likely gentle like a feather, taking care of the pressure he puts into showing affection to you. "No, are you?" he mocks you. "I like you, remember?"
You shake your head as your heart starts to pound at his meaningful confession, craving for more of his sweet talking. The relationship with San started at the beginning of colleague when Seonghwa introduced him to you as on of his best friends. You both were attracted to ourselves but sometimes not everything work the way we want it to be. "What do you mean by like, we are enemies" you whisper as his hand sneaks to the small of your back in order to pull you even closer if that's possible, rubbing at the cold flesh of your skin, leaving the suave aftertaste of his hell.
"I really like you, (Y/N)." he says softly as his embrace on you grow stronger, proving how secure his arms could feel around your fragile figure. The sparks in his brown eyes are magnificent like a colorful fireworks on a New Year, drawing you into the neverending trance of exchanging shy looks. "My reputation is fucked up but who cares, they already know not to mess with me. These braindead folks can go to hell, I swear to god they are only a burden."
Venom lingers in his voice like a bitter poison, covering your blushy skin in goosebumps as you look away from his pleading stare to hide the tears, threating to fall at the corner of your eyes. It pains you that you have to see him in state, where the hateful words are form of a escape from a incumbent reality. "I care, San. How can I not, if you bring the troubles once I'm not looking" you sigh. "It’s not your fault, though." you lean into him, dropping your head in the crook of his neck. The faint sound of his heartbeat soothe your nerves like a precious lullaby, dreaming about this moment.
For a bad boy who can only curse about his miserable life, Choi San is a lost puppy who never experienced the meaning of love. Always in the wrong hands of his owners, deceiving his feelings to fall into the depths of emotion abyss.
You bite your lips in anexiety, exhaling his intoxicating scent of expensive cologne mixed with the smell of cigarettes from earlier. "Can you prove to me that your confession was true? Show me how much do you like me and how do you crave the feeling of my skin in yours, to hold me like this every night not like other girls you slept with." you ask with trembling hands. "Promise me to be honest with me and make me fall in love with the real you."
He chuckles as he softly presses his lips to the crown of your head. "I promise." he states, your insides swell and your heart pounds in your chest once again because San is far for being a perfect boyfriend but maybe you have a power to change him to be one. "Tutoring can wait" he says as you look at him curiously, a teasing smile on his face.
"San, your grades are awful." you sigh as you cannot help but smile at the sight of the pout on his face, looking like a kid who couldn't get his favourite lollipop. You pull away from him and thread your fingers through his hair in an attempt to comfort him.
He grins as you allow him to press chaste kisses down your neck to your lips, softly pressing into you as you whimper at his close approximaty, his burning touch leaving you with a bite for more of the forbidden fruit. Kissing him feels like paradise, you have never done it before, contemplating about the sin but it feels right. "I don't care."
Far for being angelic, the son of devil sets on fire your heart, not caring for the burns on his skin, inviting you to his little game.
"Kids, I left you for a moment and you are already making out." The sound of Seonghwa voice make you giggle in embarrassment.
"Fuck off, Seonghwa!" San warns, eyeing the older boy.
Maybe connecting your soul with Choi San’s won't be that bad idea.

"You are my life now."

covered in scars i did nothing to earn
Summary: 5 times Forrest finds old scars on Alex’s body + 1 time he sees a new one
warnings: mentions of past self-harm, descriptions of violent/dangerous situations, past child abuse, sexual situations, vague mention of 2x06 but not That Thing from 2x06
.1.
Forrest quite liked the feeling of Alex’s skin.
He was scarred beyond understanding, but his skin was still soft and taken care of with only little bumps. His body hair sometimes camouflaged the little ones and Forrest had created a game with himself to find them like an Easter egg hunt when they were in bed together.
Tonight was no different as he kept his head on Alex’s shoulder and dragged his fingers through his chest hair. It was barely there, but it was enough to play optical illusions.
“Oh,” he breathed, rubbing his index finger gently into a little knot of a scar over his heart, “What’s that from?”
Alex lifted his head to look at it as if he didn’t know before letting his head all back to the pillow. Forrest kissed his arm before snuggling back into his shoulder.
“Got stabbed,” Alex said like it wasn’t a big deal. Forrest lifted his head and stared at him with furrowed eyebrows.
“You got stabbed?” he said, trying to keep the calm demeanor that Alex had, “Over your heart?”
“Yeah,” Alex yawned, his eyes settling closed, “Leather tools or whatever.”
“You got stabbed with a leather slicker?” Forrest said, eyes wide as he looked closer at the scar. It was still sort of red, newer than the rest. “When did that happen?”
Alex was quiet and Forrest wondered if he’d fallen asleep, but when he looked at his eyes, he was looking right back at him. He looked like he didn’t understand why he was asking.
“I don’t really want to talk about this,” Alex said cautiously. Forrest adjusted himself just a little, worry still heavy in his system.
“Well, are you at least okay?” Forrest asked. Alex nodded, combing his hands through his hair.
“Yeah,” he said, “I’m fine.”
Forrest wasn’t quite sure he believed that, but he pressed a kiss over the scar and laid his head down on Alex’s chest again.
.2.
Forrest felt stupid.
He’d stopped kissed Alex the minute he got on his knees, instead finding his eyes locked on the scars lining Alex’s hip. Precise lines, all the same size and all in a row with the occasional vertical line across them. They were old, that much was clear, but they were there. He hadn’t noticed them before.
“You okay?” Alex asked, looking down at him. Forrest quickly made it look like he wasn’t staring, like he wasn’t overthinking everything Alex had told him about his childhood, like he wasn’t terrified for a boy he he’d never met.
But this was a man. He wasn’t going to bring it up and make him feel guilty for what he couldn’t change.
“Yeah,” Forrest nodded, pushing a kiss on Alex’s lower stomach, “I’m okay.”
As he settled himself between Alex’s thighs, he couldn’t help but look for similar scars. He found them, too, a row high on his inner thigh. Forrest’s stomach dropped, but he tried not to think about it as he took Alex into his mouth, doing his damnedest to make him feel good.
But, because Forrest was notorious at self sabotage, he found himself thinking about the other people Alex had slept with in his life. Had they noticed? Alex had told him that most of them were quick fucks in dark allies, so they probably hadn’t. But Michael Guerin had seen them, surely. Had he made Alex feel okay about them? Had he comforted him? Had he gotten the entire story?
Forrest zoned out for too many seconds in a row and started actually choking to the point he fell back on his ass as he sucked in a deep breath. Alex was staring down at him with wide eyes.
“Are you okay?” Alex asked, voice sweet and full of genuine concern, “I’m sorry, did I-”
“No, you didn’t do anything, I’m just stupid,” Forrest laughed, managing a smile as he looked up at him, “I was thinking about dinner and forgot what I was doing.”
“Oh, jeez, I’m that much of a turn off?” Alex laughed, holding his hand out to help him to his feet. Forrest shook his head.
“No, I just didn’t eat much today,” Forrest lied. Alex gave an exaggerated pout.
“You should’ve said something, you wanna order pizza?” Alex suggested, pulling him in closer. Forrest rested his head on Alex’s, giving him a small kiss and loving the way he smiled against his lips.
"Sounds good,” Forrest said. Alex smiled wider and pulled up his jeans before finding his phone. Forrest laid against his chest, letting Alex wrap his arms around him and order the pizza while he held him close without question.
Someone had to have showed Alex he was loved and needed, right? He wouldn’t be this sweet if they hadn’t.
Besides, they were old. He would be okay as long as he remembered that.
.3.
“And you’re sure you’re okay with this?”
“Stop asking me or I’ll change my mind,” Alex laughed, quickly followed by a sneeze that rocked through his whole body and a loud groan. Forrest smiled in adoration, huffing a little laugh as he scooted a little closer.
Forrest moved closer and gently pulled Alex’s stump into his lap, giving him one last look to make sure it was okay before he slowly started massaging the scar like Alex had showed him. It was something he’d seem Alex to before, but he never stared and had never offered to help. Help, this was the first time Alex even let him touch this specific scar. It was a lot for him and it was a massive privilege.
“So, what does this do exactly?” Forrest asked, wanting to keep the conversation going.
“Well, it’s a desensitization technique that they made me start doing before I got my prosthetic. I think I could technically stop doing it, but it helps a lot with phantom pain and on days where I don’t use my prosthetic, it keeps the scar tissue used to movement and friction, stuff like that,” Alex explained, voice nasal from his stuffy nose. Forrest smiled a little helplessly at the sound.
“Do you want me to wash it too?” Forrest offered. Alex made a face.
“I can do that when I go to brush my teeth.”
“Okay,” Forrest said, not wanting to push. Alex hummed and settled into his pillow more. He was cute when he let his guard down. Well, he was always cute, but it was infinitely more obvious on days like this when he was all soft and cuddly. He leaned down and pressed a kiss on his other leg.
“Don’t kiss me, you’re gonna get sick,” Alex scolded. Forrest laughed.
“It’s your leg, no sickness germs are going to seep out and get me sick anymore than just being around you will,” Forrest said. Alex groaned.
“I don’t want you to get sick,” Alex whined before repeating the same phrase he’d been saying since he got sick the day before, “You should go home.”
“I’m not going anywhere,” Forrest insisted. Alex sighed semi-dramatically and looked up at him with the world’s sweetest eyes.
Not for the first time, Forrest wondered just how much Alex felt his own feelings. He always seemed hardened, but his eyes betrayed him and showed just how big his heart was. Forrest kissed his leg again.
“Thank you,” Alex sighed softly, “For taking care of me.”
“Always.”
.4.
“Stupid fucking hair regulations.”
“You could always say fuck the man and grow it out all long and nice,” Forrest suggested, honestly kind of sad as Alex plugged in the clippers. He hadn’t seen Alex with regulation hair, but he knew he liked having something to put his hands through.
“Not an option, unfortunately,” Alex huffed, turning on the clippers and just taking it to his head without hesitation. Forrest visibly grimaced as the side just fell off. “Stop it, you’re making this harder.”
“I’m sorry,” Forrest sighed, sitting on the edge of the bathtub.
“It’s okay,” Alex said, buzzing off more. He left the top a little bit longer than the sides, but it wasn’t long enough. It really felt like the end of an era. Forrest watched closely, still, and he felt his eyebrows slowly come together as he saw a visible white line on the side of his head.
“Do you have a scar on your head?” he asked bluntly. Alex looked at him through the mirror.
“Yeah.”
“How?”
Alex didn’t answer right away, touching up his hair with unmatched precision. It made Forrest wonder how young he was when he started doing that by himself. Whenever he was in the military, he always had to get someone to help. Alex didn’t.
Eventually, Alex was done and he looked like a new person. Like a soldier. Forrest had mixed feelings.
“My dad made us keep regulation cuts when we were kids,” Alex explained, “My brother didn’t use a guard. Pretty sure he didn’t do it on purpose.”
Forrest’s whole body tensed and his eyes widened, involuntarily feeling the pain of it secondhand. Alex just stared at him, unflinching and unbothered. Maybe that was why he liked his hair long. There was a doubt in him on whether his brother had deliberately cut his head open.
“You okay?” Forrest asked cautiously. Alex nodded, shrugging it off.
“Yeah, my dad gave me stitches, I’m fine.”
The worst part was he said it like it was normal.
.5.
Forrest had his arms wrapped around Alex as tight as he could with the center console between them, shushing him as he sobbed into his chest.
He wasn’t sure what set him off. They’d been fine enough, just walking around the park and holding hands and talking about getting ice cream. Something had switched in him though as they passed the playground and Alex suggested they go right then, so they went back to the car. And then on the drive to the ice cream shop, Alex broke into tears. Forrest pulled over immediately to soothe him.
He knew Alex was a bit off when he woke up that morning, so he suggested the park to give him something chill to think about it. He didn’t expect anything there would set him off.
“It’s okay, I’ve got you,” Forrest promised, trying to breathe in sync with Alex to ground him. It took awhile, but he eventually calmed down. He didn’t let go of Forrest’s shirt.
“I’m sorry,” Alex whispered, “I didn’t mean to ruin your day.”
“You didn’t ruin anything, it’s okay. Don’t feel bad,” Forrest promised, pressing a soft kiss into the side of his head. Alex took another shaky breath, not moving from his place pressed into Forrest's chest.
Forrest thought back through all of the things Alex had subtly revealed about his childhood, trying to find a moment that could've hinted about a playground or a park being a trigger. He couldn't think of one, the closest one being his mom bringing all four of her sons to a park the day she ran off without a goodbye. But Alex never got like this when he talked about his mom.
"I'm sorry I brought you here," Forrest said, "I didn't know."
"No, it's just..." Alex said, sniffling as he sat up a little, "It's just a bad day. Could've been anything."
"But I knew that, so I'm still sorry," Forrest insisted. Alex huffed a small laugh, wiping his face dry as he sniffled again.
"You're too good to me," Alex said. Forrest shrugged and didn't say anything. He didn't feel like he was too good for Alex. In fact, he was still quite sure he wasn't good enough for him at all. "Guess I kind of owe you an explanation."
"You don't owe me anything," Forrest promised. Alex sniffled, shaking his head.
"No, I never give you an explanation, but this time I have one," Alex said, taking a deep, steadying breath. Forrest listened intently. "This, um, this was the park my dad took me when I was little when I got into trouble at school. I was, uh, super antagonistic in those years right after my mom left, I was so mad at everyone all the time. But, uh, he would take me here and every single time I could trick myself into thinking it was going to be okay. We'd walk around for an hour and we'd talk about what happened. He'd ask me why I did it, talk through it. It always seemed like it was going to end well. Then, um, then..."
"Alex," Forrest said softly, shaking his head, "You don't have to–"
"Then he told me to pick my own switch," Alex finished, breathing heavily. Forrest felt sick. "'Cause having a reason didn't excuse my actions, he said. I don't know, I just saw that tree and I just..."
"Jesus, Alex, I'm so sorry," Forrest breathed, leading him back to lay against his chest. He went willingly. He thought about Alex's body and tried to remember where scars from that might be. But Alex was six when his mom left, the chances of those having faded by now were high. And then Forrest was faced with the image of six year old Alex walking through the park, holding his dad's hand, and picking out the stick he'd get beaten with later that evening. "Fuck, I'm sorry."
"Not your fault," Alex said, "I-It's not even that big of a deal, tons of people had to do that, I'm just having a bad day."
"It doesn't matter how many people had to do that, it's still fucked. You're allowed to be upset with that no matter what kind of day it is," Forrest insisted, "I'll pick a different park next time."
Alex gave a soft laugh, "Okay."
"You still want ice cream?" he wondered. Alex sniffled and shrugged. "How about we stop by the store and I'll run in and get some and then we can eat it in bed with Buffy?"
Alex took another breath, steadier than any of the ones before.
"I'd like that."
.+1.
Forrest woke up to frantic knocking on his front door and Buffy barking.
"Who the fuck–"
He stopped speaking when he opened the door to see Michael and Kyle carrying a limp Alex between them. He didn't even ask questions as he got out of the way, letting them pull Alex inside and lay him on the coffee table. Kyle ripped open his shirt to reveal a bullet wound in his stomach. Buffy barked in concern beside them, trying to peer onto the table.
"Oh my God," he breathed, panic rocking through him as he saw his boyfriend who said he was just going a recruitment trip. That wasn't supposed to lead to this.
"Sorry, you were just the closest and we can't bring him to the hospital without Isobel because they'll ask questions," Kyle explained.
"I-I don't understand," Forrest breathed, "How did he..."
"Get shot? Because your boyfriend is determined to die a martyr," Michael said, not taking his eyes off of the wound. Forrest could barely think straight. Actually, he couldn't at all. "Can you put the dog away?"
"He'll be okay," Kyle promised, looking up at Michael as Forrest dazedly led Buffy to the bathroom, "Do your thing."
And then Forrest really was hallucinating his entire night because Michael's hand started glowing.
It was alight for a few seconds before Alex's eyes opened. Michael lunged to the side, grabbing the bag Kyle thrusted at him and vomiting in it in the same moment Alex groaned in pain.
"Forrest, come distract him, I don't have any anesthetics," Kyle instructed, gloves somehow already on his hands. Forrest was shaking and his mind was scrambled, but he obeyed and knelt by Alex's head. He held his head in his hands.
"Hey, babe, definitely would've liked a heads up," Forrest said. Alex gave a dopey smile, still sweating and clearly in pain. Forrest gave him a kiss on the forehead and stole another look at his abdomen. The wound looked fifty times better than it had before Michael did the glowy thing. He filed that away for questions to ask later.
It was when Kyle neared it with a suture needle that Forrest looked back to Alex. He tensed whenever the needle pierced him, but he just took a shallow breath to keep still. He didn't scream, didn't flinch, just breathed. Forrest found his hand and let him squeeze even if it hurt.
"You're doing great," Forrest insisted. Alex just breathed in slowly. Michael appeared beside him then, breath smelling of vomit and nail polish remover. It was the worst smell he'd ever been forced to smell.
"You really gotta stop playing hero," Michael told him.
"Says you," Alex shot back. Forrest didn't comment, just pushed his hair back and pressed another kiss to his head. "Sorry if I get blood on your new rug."
"Hush, I don't care as long as you're okay," Forrest told him. Alex nodded, taking another deep breath.
They sat there while Kyle stitched him up, Forrest kissing his head and Michael squeezing Alex's other hand. Eventually, Kyle was done.
"Can we stay here? I don't want to move him more and I need to look over him," Kyle said. Forrest nodded.
"Yeah, whatever you need, just keep him safe," Forrest said. He sat there with Alex for a few more minutes before he managed to get himself to his feet. "Gonna go get you some water, okay?"
A few shaky steps later, Forrest was grabbing three ups and filling them with water. A hand reached around him to grab his cup and Forrest followed it to Michael. He had a billion questions, but the guy was clearly having his own rough day and the questions could be saved for the morning.
"Thank you," Forrest said, "Not sure exactly what you did, but... you helped him, I think, so... Thanks."
Michael paused in the middle of downing his water, slowly pulling it away from him mouth as he looked at Forrest. He waited for whatever kind of reaction someone has when they just saved their ex-boyfriend's life and then had that person's new boyfriend kiss them.
"You're treating him right, aren't you?" Michael asked. Forrest nodded.
"I'm doing my best," Forrest said. Michael nodded curtly.
"Good. He deserves it. Keep it up, bro," he said, voice a little awkward and disjointed. He reached out a little, hesitated, and then went through with patting Forrest on the shoulder before grabbing another cup and bringing it into the kitchen. Forrest was too overwhelmed to even process that that was weird and grabbed the final cup and following him.
Forrest knelt beside Alex and helped prop his head up to help him drink. He sighed thankfully as the water got into his system.
"You know, I usually let you slide on the explanation thing, but I think I need one this time," Forrest said to him. Alex looked at him with his warm eyes and nodded, his head resting comfortably in Forrest's palm. So he didn't move it when he let Alex's head back down.
"I will," Alex said.
"At least you got another scar for the collection, much cooler story," Michael said, a lighter tone in his voice. Alex snorted a laugh but groaned at the pain it brought him. "Sorry."
"No, you're good," Alex said, "You're right."
"There is absolutely nothing cool about being shot," Kyle scoffed.
"Shut up, Dr. McDreamy, you vote doesn't count," Michael said before looking at Forrest, "You think his scars are cool, don't you, Forrest?"
Forrest blinked at him and then looked down at Alex who was looking at him expectantly. He didn't know how to say that cool wasn't the word he'd use. Tragic, maybe, a sign of his strength. Not cool. But they made him Alex, so that was something cool.
"Yeah," Forrest agreed, "Very cool."
Alex smiled and closed his eyes and Forrest officially accepted that this was his life now.
He was absolutely okay with that.

Untamed Spring Fest 2020 - Days 22 & 23: Fragrance & Earth
1,969 Words
Post-Canon, Wangxian Family and the Junior Quartet on a farm. Mostly fluff with some WWX feelings and Wangxian flirting.
“At least Lil’ Apple can be useful. All Fairy can do is run around barking and making a mess!”
“Fairy does not just run around making a mess!”
Jin Ling and Jingyi had been arguing on and off all morning (at least since Wei Wuxian and Ouyang Zizhen had arrived). Lan Zhan’s total disinterest in mediating such disputes was usually a comedic reflection of the boy Wei Wuxian had known in his school days. He had, in fact teased his husband as they had traded off responsibility in supervising the team of visiting Juniors earlier that day, but as the sun had risen higher in the sky and the sweat dripped down his face and back, it had been more and more difficult to find the disruption to the usually peaceful scenery to be anything but a nuisance.
“Jin Ling! Jingyi!” he finally shouted their way, exasperated, “If you’re not going to dig those potatoes up, I need you to carry that over to the southwestern plot for me, the one with the onions!” Wei Wuxian smiled a bit too widely as he pointed at some troughs strategically placed downwind from the turnip plot he, Ouyang Zizhen, and Lan Sizhui were working on.
The two teens whirled around, silenced at least for the moment by the instructions. They followed Wei Wuxian’s gesture.
As if on cue, the two started their protests as one.
“Not the manure!” “Come on, we did that last time!” they complained.
“Ah ah ah,” Wei Wuxian shook his head, waving a finger at the two, “Someone’s got to do it. And my farm. My rules. Go get the buckets.”
Jin Ling looked like he was going to protest, but Jingyi had already resigned himself to the disgusting task, so Jin Ling just huffed and followed along, not wanting to be left behind.
“Father,” Sizhui said softly as the two trudged off, “Can I go help them? They did do it last time and I feel bad…”
Wei Wuxian chuckled, “You’re too noble, A-Yuan,” he reached over to ruffle the boy’s hair, making his son reach up to anxiously readjust his hairpiece, “How could I let my little turnip live through such hardship?”
There was a sudden relief from the sun’s glaring rays on his back. A long shadow had fallen over him.
“Go ahead, Sizhui,” Wei Wuxian couldn’t help but smile as the sound of his husband’s voice washed over him, “But take some water first.”
“Lan Zhaan,” the shade his husband provided wasn’t enough to stop Wei Wuxian from whining, “I need A-Yuan here, he’s my good luck charm.”
He turned to look at his husband, who stood behind him, carrying a tray of cups and a jug of water.
Sizhui had already stood up, ready to go. Now he wavered, looking between his two parents, unwilling to pick a side. He took the water he was offered by his Lan father, stalling for time.
“Our farm, our rules, remember? Our son can do what he wants here.” Lan Zhan said, tone serious as ever, but the hint of a smirk letting Wei Wuxian know he was teasing.
Wei Wuxian sighed dramatically, “Fine, go,” he waved Sizhui off, “If you must leave the nest so soon, so be it,” he pouted, turning back to the seedlings, shoulders slumped as if to prove his long-suffering sacrifice.
Sizhui smiled at Lan Zhan, “Thank you father,” he said. He turned towards his other father before he left, saying, “You know, sometimes turnips have to grow up and leave for the market!”
“Lan Zhaaan, our son is being so ungrateful,” Wei Wuxian complained, but then turned to his Sizhui, expression softening, “if you have to leave me, at least take this.” He unravelled a strip of beige cloth from his arm and handed it to Sizhui, who took it, looking questioningly back at his father.
“Tie it like this,” Wei Wuxian instructed, dragging pinched fingers from below his nose to behind his head, “it’ll help with the smell, I promise.”
Sizhui smiled, and nodded, determined, “I will. Thank you!” He gave each of his fathers a hug (Lan Zhan returning it stiffly but warmly, Wei Wuxian pretending to sob into his shoulder) and followed after Jin Ling and Jingyi.
Wei Wuxian turned to Zizhen who had been quietly counting out inches between seedlings this whole time, “At least you haven’t abandoned me. Or,” he shot a pouting look at Lan Zhan, “betrayed me.” Lan Zhan only rolled his eyes and offered a cup of water in response, which Wei Wuxian took eagerly.
“Two… three… huh?” Zizhen interrupted his count, looking up finally and seeming confused at the replacement of Sizhui with Hanguang-Jun, who was holding a cup of water out for him as well.
Wei Wuxian laughed, patting the boy in red on the shoulder, “I’m glad you stayed, you actually seem to know what you’re doing here!” It was true. The boy was a natural at farming. Wei Wuxian was confidant the wheat would have died weeks ago if not for Zizhen’s careful advice on the Juniors’ last visit.
Zizhen grinned, “Thank you, Wei-gongzi! You know, I used to spend summers at my aunt and uncle’s home, and they had the most beautiful farm, with the best pear orchard, the sweetest, most delicate pears you’ve ever tasted…”
Zizhen carried on, explaining in great detail the transition from seedlings, to turnips, of pear blossoms to fruit, picnics and fishing by the river, deciding what to eat based on what was ripest that day.
Lan Zhan had sat next to Wei Wuxian, setting the tray aside and pulling out a small shovel to dig the holes where his husband would plant the seedlings. Their hands occasionally (not entirely accidentally) brushed in their mechanical movements from one hole to the next. Wei Wuxian’s whole face scrunched into a smile at the touch, the world slowing as he looked to meet his husband’s gentle eyes.
The sound of Zizhen’s chatter drifted off into silence, drawing Wei Wuxian back to reality. His eyes snapped onto Zizhen, who was staring, frozen, mouth just barely open, at the two near-legendary cultivators kneeling across from him, hand in hand.
Wei Wuxian stifled a laugh, bringing a hand up to wave it in the boy’s face, “Zizhen, Zizhen!” he said, breaking through whatever haze had ensnared him.
Ouyang Zizhen blinked back into reality, “Huh? Oh!” he shook his head, and hurriedly bowed in turn at Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan, “I’m so sorry Wei-Gongzi, Hanguang-Jun,” he said, “I was just… was just…” he stopped, lost for words.
“Admiring our love?” Wei Wuxian said, waggling his eyebrows in mock suggestiveness at Lan Zhan (which earned him a low “Wei Ying!”)
But Zizhen only nodded earnestly, “Yes!” he said, “I just…” he paused, he wiped a real tear that streaked down his face at this, creating a smudge of dirt down his cheek as he did so, “I love your love story so much. It’s just so… so beautiful!”
Wei Wuxian laughed, and looked over at his husband, who looked stricken, a faint blush darkening his cheeks, which only made him laugh harder.
“Lan Zhan!” he said, “You hear that? We’re beautiful!” he cupped a hand over his husband’s face. Lan Zhan turned towards him, eyes still wide. Wei Wuxian removied his hand slowly, carefully. Ensuring every speck of dirt possible remained on his husband’s face.
Lan Zhan only closed his eyes, a mirror of his brother in that moment, sighed, and reopened them. A frown fell on his face as he looked at Wei Wuxian, “Wei Ying.” He said seriously, “there is something on your nose,” he pointed towards his own nose as though this helped matters.
“Ah!” Wei Wuxian reacted instinctively, partway through rubbing off the imagined dirt on his nose when he realized, “Lan Zhaaan!”
His husband smiled, and reached to help clean the newly applied dirt off of his husband’s nose. He seemed content to leave the faint handprint on his own face.
A soft whine came from across the row of seedlings. Zizhen was crying again.
--
The three planted the turnip seedlings in peaceful silence for a long while, the sun dipping towards the horizon before they were done. Lan Zhan digging, Wei Wuxian planting, Zizhen checking as they went, incredibly adept at spotting where a hole was too shallow, too deep, too close to another plant.
Voices began to drift back over from the direction of the southwestern plot, two loud ones with long pauses between them, which, as they drew closer, turned out not to be silences but instead Sizhui’s quieter attempts at intervention in the arguments that hadn’t ever ceased.
Wei Wuxian’s gaze drifted over to the three Juniors, all three with their faces wrapped with a cloth to block the fragrant smell from their buckets that had luckily not yet reached the turnip plot. He was suddenly struck by a similar image, a memory of a life past. A boy in black, one in gold, one in white. Similar ribbons tied below the noses of the black and gold clad teens…
He clawed his fingers into the dirt, shaking his head. Smells could bring you back, to places he would rather not revisit right now. Now, he grounded himself in the smell of the earth, the ground beneath his fingers, the warmth of the sun on his back, his husband’s gentle, methodical digging and gentle humming beside him. Zizhen. Ling. Jingyi. A-Yuan. Their futures before them.
As he gripped the earth, he remembered. The furthest past was seconds before, when Lan Zhan had last made a hole or when they had last touched. The most distant future was the potatoes they would pull for dinner, the fresh vegetables Wen Ning would bring from town. He thought of the warm fire they would make once the summer nights brought enough coolness for that to be comfortable. Wen Ning quietly teaching Wen Qing’s medical books to Sizhui. Lan Jingyi sneaking an extra piece of fish from Jin Ling’s plate when he wasn’t looking, Zizhen telling a ghost story that would make all their skin crawl. Lan Zhan by his side, now, always. Wei Wuxian breathed, and planted another turnip seedling into the dirt.
The three returning Juniors, who, it became clear as they drew nearer, desperately needed a bath, were smiling. Zizhen rose to join them. They were not the same as Wei Wuxian’s classmates from all those years ago, they were their own people. Brought up by guardians who understood the horrors of war, the costs of petty fighting, of failing to understand what was truly important until it was too late. They had grown up raised by the fears of their guardians, but in a time of peace, not war.
Wei Wuxian reached out beside him, grasping for and finding Lan Zhan’s hand, squeezing it tight. The look he received in return and the tightened grip on his hand reassured him. Things were alright now.
“Lan Zhan?” Wei Wuxian whispered, looking towards the man standing next to him, “I think we should start an orchard.” Lan Zhan hummed in interest, Wei Wuxian continued, “Maybe apples… I’m sure Lil’ Apple would like that.”
He smiled at his husband, who smiled back, nodding. His muscles ached from the day’s hard work, these months on the farm somehow more exhausting than those spent hunting down ghosts and monsters.
The six cultivators, the group of four with the pair trailing behind, walked back towards the farmhouse. The scent of Wen Ning’s latest attempt at a Lotus Rib Soup drifted towards them, welcoming them inside.
Wei Wuxian looked around himself, at the fields, as they returned. All around them, things grew. They were safe, they were cared for, and they were at peace.

sooo, for the cute prompts can I request some domestic life scenarios with the RFA? Have a great day/night ♡
YES, this is exacty what i meant when i asked for cute prompts hehe ^o^ I’ll also add Saeran bc well, i haven’t written anything for him before and he deserves love too!!
YOOSUNG:
* There’s two scenarios for this sweet bean; living with him as students, and living together after graduating.
* As students, his scedhule is a bit hectic-he leaves early for classes, comes back dead tired in the afternoon, and honestly he wants nothing more than to just throw himself over MC and rest his head on their chest, taking in their warmth to recharge from the days’ fatigue.
* He loves to be pampered and cared for-if MC offers to rub his back, or help him study/make him some tea or snacks while studying, he’ll be so happy!
*He also loves to care for them though, and as a roommate, although often messy, he’s really caring-he’s usually the one cooking most of the meals, and loves to make MC’s favorites (the smile on their face when they eat something he’s cooked makes him twice as happy really), and will absoloutely cuddle them to sleep at night (aka at 3am when he’s done playing LOLOL, and is this kis a FURNACE WHY IS HE SO WARM)
* He loves to go grocery shopping together! He’ll absoloutely try and put MC in the shopping cart and run down the aisles with them until a security guard scolds them for it lmao
* When living together after graduation, he might mellow down a little-the initial jitters are gone, and he’s more comfortable around MC, especially if they move out and get a flat together-this is now their space, one they worked on and decorated together.
* Will absoloutely bring foster animals home, and even if they make a mess he cares for them so much MC finds it absoloutely endearing. Seeing him chase a bunny around begging it to stop pooping is quite freaking funny though and they do film him doing so and send it to the RFA chatroom lmao
* Honestly. Just an absoloutely sweet boyfriend, he’s just so grateful to have a person he loves to come home to everyday
JAEHEE:
* She’s the one that suggested moving in together, and though excited, she’s a little apprehensive at first
* She’s so used to having her own space and is really rigid about cleanliness even with her busy scedhule, so she’s afraid how she’ll react if e.g MC is a very messy person
* However she eventually learns to compromise, and so does MC-Their house is always clean, even if its’ a little messy at times. Jaehee learns to relax a little, and is just happy to have MC to come home to everyday
* Since they co-own the cafe, they take turns manning the shop and running house chores. She does however love whenever they’re able to go shopping for supplies for the coffee shop together.
* At home she’s always brewing new roasts of coffee or trying out new recipes of cakes and muffins-she loves baking with MC, finding it so adorable whenever they end up with flour on their nose, blushing a furious red if MC tries to feet them bites of the dessert themself.
* She’s not a cuddler, but loves to hold MC’s hand in hers when going to bed-nowdays she actually finds it impossible to fall asleep without the feel of MCs hand in hers
* She’s almost always the first one up in the mornings, and always brings MC a cup of coffee in bed to wake them up, along with a quick kiss
* They have movie nights once a week, and take turns choosing the film-it’s usually Zen’s musicals whenever it’s Jaehee’s turn, but MC doesn’t mind-not when Jaehee cuddles up with them, resting her back on MCs’ chest as they watch, constantly turning around to MC with wide bright eyes to comment on specific scenes.
* Seeing her smile every day is honestly such a blessing who wouldn’t want to live with her aaaaa
ZEN:
* This boy LOVES living with his SO, loves it!!!
* He is however extremely busy....and often comes home late....
* He’s happy MC is so understanding, but he’s furstrated with himself for not spending more time together even though they live under the same roof
* After deciding to live together, he’ll be willing to move out of his half-basement and into a place they choose together-that house holds many memories for him, yes, both good and bad, but he’s ready to say goodbye to that part of his life to start a new chapter fresh with his beloved.
* He’ll have so much fun going furniture shopping-absoloutely he’ll drag MC down with him on every bed to ‘test how comfortable it is’
* MC that’s a lie he’s absoloutely just trying to make sure how durable its springs are RUN-
* Ahem. Anyway yeah creating a place for the two of them to call home is an amazing experience, and he’s very lenient with compromises-he wants MC to be as comfortable as possible in their shared space, especially when he’s often home late leaving MC alone.
* On his free days he absoloutely makes up for his absence, becoming the absoloute boyfriend material-will wake up early and make MC breakfast in bed, waking them up with the sweetest kiss and the smell of freshly baked pancakes, will spend the day pretty much lounging like a big fluffy housecat-he’s s such an active and sporty person, yes, but he’s human too, and we’re lazy by nature lol
* He loves to rest his head on MC’s lap, feel them running their hands through his hair as they watch something on TV. The feel of their hands on him bring him ultimate bliss.
* Honestly just absoloute husband material, if only he had a little more free time lmao
JUMIN:
* He’s also a really busy man, but has the blessing of being able to more or less make his own scedhule, considering his position, so he’s sure to never miss dinner time with MC-it’s his own little ritual with them
* He loves to lay in bed with MC in his arms, stroking their hair as they tell each other about their day. He can’t go to bed otherwise.
* If he’s abroad, he’ll skype MC every night and fall asleep with each other on camera, and he’ll make it up to them a thousand times over once he’s back home
* He loves to bring little gifts and surprises for MC when he comes home-from a bouquet of their favorite flowers, to something he saw that reminded him of them
* On days off, he’ll want to do something creative with them-Jumin’s always up for finding new hobbies and learning new things, so he’s eager to share this joy with MC
* ((his current obsession is sculpting-he’s absolotutely working on making a reailstic life-like sculpture of Elizabeth the 3d to place on their home’s entrance))
* Often he’ll cook with MC, trying out new recipes together, ones they picked up from their travels around the world-he’s not afraid of trying new things, and same goes to flavours. He especially enjoys meditarranean cooking, and will search for the best products to cook with.
* Loves to wake up first simply to watch MC as they sleep-their peaceful expression brings the biggest of smiles on his lips MC wake up you’re missing the purest sight in the whole world
* Such a loving husband, perfect bean, 10/10
SEVEN:
* When all’s said and done, when both he and his brother are safe and he can finally breathe, he’ll absoloutely refuse to live together with MC in the fort he’s lived in for so long. It’s such a dark and gloomy place, he doesn’t want MC, his bright wonderful MC to live in such a constricting place.
* He’s really a family-oriented person-he’ll want a proper home for him and MC and Saeran to live in, one where their lives can actually finally feel normal.
* LOVES looking for a home with MC, viewing different properties and getting a feel of what suits them and what not-when the real estates agent tells them of homes with rooms perfect to eventually become nurseries, he can’t hide his gleeful smile, how he squeezes MC’s hand at the thought of having a home, a family, children-all he never thought he could have.
* Adjusting to a normal, everyday life is hard at first-he’s so unaccustomed to the most basic of things (like a freaking normal sleep scedhule) but with help he’ll get used to them
* Eventually he can’t fall asleep without feeling MC besides him-if he wakes up and finds the bed empty he panics, thinking of all the worst scenarios.
* Sometimes he’ll even get up at night to check that Saeran is alright, the fears of his past hard to completely leave behind.
* Learning to cook with MC and Saeran is a challenge he enjoys-it’s almost like a little cooking class, with MC hovering over the twins trying to make sure neither of them chops off a finger cutting onions or set the kitchen on fire by accident.
* If they have a backyard he’ll love tending to it-he doesn’t know much, but Saeran teaches him, and he has so much fun planting different flowers and watching them grow.
* Going to the supermarket with him is like taking a baby to the amusement park. He’s constantly finding candies and weird foods and stuff and tries to discreetly throw them into the shopping cart-it’s almost impossible to tell him no when he finds something he really wants and makes that cute ol’ puppy face as he clings to it ((that ‘it’ is most often Dr. Pepper and a heckton of junk foods))
* It takes a little getting used to, sure, but at the end of the day, living everyday with Seven is nothing short of an experience, and well, a way to make life fun.
V/JIHYUN:
* Honestly....he’s so caring and loves to have someone to care for and greet each morning every day with, but he’s been hurt so bad by such a person, that he’s really apprehensive at first.
* It took a long time for him to finally ask MC to move in with him-and even then he’s scared, scared of what they’ll see of him, scared of the power they hold over him-it’s like inviting a vampire into your home, a threat and pleasure all at once, and an offer impossible to take back once it’s been given.
* He’s so scared to love and give himself, worried there’s not much left of him to give-it’ll take a lot of patience and reassurance to allow him to open up again, to find who he really is and show his true feelings.
* When he does open up however-oh man. He loves so much and so strongly, and after starting to live with him, it’s impossible to think of how life was before him. It’s so natural, existing in the same space with him, it was as if there was nothing before him, no life to speak of.
* He loves to care for MC in the smallest of ways-from planting their favorte flowers on the windowsill, to softly humming songs to them when they can’t fall asleep, his hands wrapped around them, their head nestled in the crook of his neck as he rubs soothing circles on their hand.
* V’s a giver by his nature-to love means to give, and with MC he learns that to love is more than that-it’s to share. So he learns to share, to give and be given in return.
* He’s not a great cook, and more often than not something ends up burnt when he attempts to make meals, but he makes the most delicious hot chocolate in the whole world, and in the summer, he loves brewing all kinds of different lemonades, sitting out on the balcony with MC on particularly hot days.
* He’s not one that likes to stay home much-his soul is adventeruous, and he always feel a nagging feeling, the need to go out there and explore, see all there is to see-only now he wants MC beside him, wants to experience all there is with them.
* That doesn’t mean that he hates staying at home though-spending late lazy nights with MC, both in their pyjamas as they curl up on the couch-he’ll often smoke during those nights, be it his pipe or cigarettes, leaning closer to the window as they talk with MC about everything and anything. There’s something vulnerable about the night, and they’re the only person he wants to feel this vulnerability with, the only one he’s not afraid they’ll hurt him with it.
* Eventually he’d like to have a family, if MC also wants to-and even if not, he’d like to at least move into a house with them rather than an apartment, no matter how big or small it is-he’d just like a space with a yard they can plant a garden in, take care of it together. He’ll absoloutely grow fruit trees and herbs, bringing in the fresh produce daily to use for recipes with MC.
* He’s such a big softie and perfect husband material just-give this mint unconditional love p l e a s e
SAERAN/UNKNOWN:
* It also takes a l o t to get Saeran to agree to living together with MC. It’s not that he doesn’t want to-he does, more than anything, to be able to wake up everyday to his beloved’s smile, he’s just...scared. He’s not certain how he’d handle himself in certain situations, and living together with someone means they get to see every part of you, the good and the bad, and he’s afraid of how MC will react to the bad.
* They’ll have to remind him that they have seen the bad and the good, and they’re still here, and always will be. Only when he’s truly reassured of that will he agree, and even then he’ll be really shy and closed off at first.
* A place with a garden would be ideal, or somewhere with a view to a forest or away from the bustle of the city-he likes solace, and laying beneath a tree is the perfect remedy for his stress.
* Eventually he opens up, gets more comfortable around MC, starts to show his true self. The Saeran who’s happy, who is curious about the world, who constantly wants to explore and learn.
* He’ll love taking up a hobby like gardening with MC, will spend entire evenings with them on the couch and a book of botanology open on their laps as they sit with their shoulders touching, pointing to different plants and deciding on what they’d like to grow or not.
* He’ll visit Saeyoung frequently because well, he has to (aka he wants to but refuses to say it)), and will often inivte him back to their place, secretly laughing at his brothers’ jokes, enjoying how comfortably he and MC interact, seeing these two people-his family, in the same space he shares.
* It’s scary, to have a normal life after so long-but it’s what he craved the most, and now that he has it, he’ll never let go of it.
i had so much fun writing these aaa~

I was trying to figure out why this moment from 1.18 "Something Wicked"
made me
And idk but I think it's just like. There's resentment there. There is RESENTMENT because Sam gets to be a KID who watches Thudercats and doesn't know about the monsters in the dark or the gun Dean has just in case or why they should be terrified to be alone at night and Sam has someone bigger and older to cling to who is there to protect him and Sam is the kid who gets the Lucky Charms and Dean doesn't get Lucky Charms—he has to be big he has to sacrifice everything he doesn't get a childhood while he is sitting there protecting Sam's, and he should HATE Sam for that. He should literally HATE HIM. But he could never ever hate Sam because Sam is the little baby who reaches his hand into the cereal box and offers Dean the prize with an eager smile. Little brothers AREN'T the worst they are precious little beans and that's what Dean remembers last—it isn't everything he sacrificed for Sam it's Sam offering him the prize from the cereal box.

Summary: It had all been simple... and then (Y/n) met Zari. Everything that (Y/n) had known went completely out the window. Now, (Y/n) is left in a state of confusion and fear... with Zari being the only thing that seems to be right.
Author’s Note: This is inspired by “Would You Come Home?” by Tyler Blackburn (one of the sweetest songs I’ve ever heard in my life)

I should’ve known better when someone knocked on my door at 2 in the morning. It wasn’t that I didn’t enjoy seeing the Legends... they just showed up at the prime sleeping time. They always wanted help, saying that I could save them. I always went along.
“What is it this time,” I asked as I pulled the door open.
Sara was standing in the front. Ray was right behind her, a guilty look on his face. Zari was next to Ray. She waved at me when we locked eyes. The other Legends were all grouped close to them.
“There’s a bit of a problem back in 17th Century London,” Sara explained. “Care to join us? We have a change of clothes on the Waverider.”
“Let me slip some shoes on,” I grumbled. I grabbed the slippers that I kept by the door before following them out. “Let’s get this done.”
**Time Skip**
Mission accomplished. End of the world avoided. No lives lost. Perfect outcome, if you ask me. I let out a loud yawn as we walked back to the Waverider.
“Was the mission that rough,” Nate asked.
“It’s still really early in the morning for me,” I replied. “I am exhausted.”
“Well, we better get you back to bed then,” Zari wrapped her arm around my shoulders so she could guide me onboard.
I’m pretty sure I fell asleep as soon as I hit the chair. Sara had to shake me awake when we got back to my time. I nodded to whatever she said, pulling myself out of my chair.
“I can walk (Y/n) home,” I stared at Zari for a second. “Is that alright?”
I nodded silently. I followed her out and continued my silence on the way to my house.
I couldn’t explain my feelings for Zari. She was amazing and so caring. I thought we were just really good friends but... something changed. Now, I thought of her and just smiled. I would blush whenever she gave me too much attention. I would get nervous but feel completely at peace whenever she touched me.
The whole idea made me nervous. I knew how my family... and some of my friends... would react to something like this. The idea shot fear into my stomach and dread into my heart. It made me feel guilty every time I looked at Zari as more than a friend.
“Umm... thank you,” I whispered as we got to my door. “Y’know, for walking me home.”
“You’re welcome,” she shrugged, indicating that it wasn’t a big deal.
Maybe for her, I spent the whole walk back with warm cheeks and an itch to hold her hand.
“Well... I’ll see you the next time that the Legends need help,” I bit my lip nervously.
“Yeah,” she smiled. I was going to turn around and go inside but I was stopped by Zari’s hand on my wrist. “Can I try something?”
“S-Sure,” I nodded.
My breath caught in my throat when she leaned in. The moment only lasted a few seconds. It was a small peck on the lips. She pulled away and left so I couldn’t see her reaction. But I was in a whole different mindset. My lips felt like they were tingling. The breath had been knocked out of me.
Time didn’t register for me as I walked inside. I felt like it was all going too fast and too slow all at once. My mind only focused again once I had laid under my covers.
Then, no matter how much I had been told it was wrong... I smiled. I couldn’t help it. A wave of emotions pushed every thought away and I smiled. I smiled so wide that I thought it was going to hurt.
**Time Skip**
That was the start of it all. That was when Zari and I started being together. It was... interesting.
We didn’t stop being romantic after that night. Quite the opposite, we had been doing this for quite a while... undetected. It was all just private. Sometimes we would stray behind the group and hold hand... or interlock pinkies because it was more subtle. Some things were more reckless.
Zari would always walk me back from the Waverider. It started with me stopping her around the corner with one last kiss. Then, it was hidden behind the hedges a house down the road. Then, I was pulling Zari over to the side of the front deck, completely out of view of the front living room.
“Come stay with me,” Zari said after I had pulled away from one of those hidden kisses. My eyes went wide. “On the Waverider. It would be amazing.”
“Zari,” I sighed. “We’ve had this conversation.”
“Then say yes,” she replied. “Why don’t you want this?”
“I... just can’t do that, I’m sorry,” I mumbled. I knew that I should’ve told her about my family... I just didn’t. I wanted to feel free.
“(Y/n),” Zari cupped one side of my face.
“I...,” I looked down, letting her hand drop from my face.
“(Y/n),” she repeated. “If you can’t commit to this... to us... then I can’t keep this going. I’m sorry.”
“Zari, please-”
“Goodbye, (Y/n).”
“Zari-”
“Goodbye.”
She walked away with another glance. I placed a hand over my mouth to silence my sobs. My heart had been ripped out and it was my fault. I had hurt myself... and now I couldn’t fix it.
I walked back inside like I had so many times before. Silent and distracted. I would’ve ignored my entire family sitting in the living room if no one had said anything.
“(Y/n),” I stopped on the stairs when my dad spoke. He stood up. “I wanted you to know... we’re taking you to our church tomorrow.”
“Why, exactly,” I asked.
“You need help,” he replied. “They’re willing to help.”
“Help?”
“I saw you,” my brother spoke up. “With that girl.”
“You want to get me help,” I mumbled before my heart stopped completely. “You want to send me away.”
“It’s going to fix-”
“I’m not broken,” I shouted. My dad walked over to me. “I’m not broken. I was set free. I was set free... and I threw that away.”
“(Y/n), please, take the help,” he said.
“I don’t need it,” I snapped before going to head upstairs.
“What are you doing,” he asked following me.
“Packing my stuff,” I explained. “I deserve to be free and happy. You people sending me away proves that you don’t want me to be happy... especially if it’s not by your terms.”
“Never accuse me of something like that,” my dad replied. I rolled my eyes. “Listen to me.”
“So you can preach some more? I think I’m good.”
I walked into my room, grabbing some bags. My dad was rambling at this point but I was done listening. I tried to grab my clothes and anything that had a lot of importance to me.
“Please stop,” I said. “I am leaving... no matter what.”
I basically had to shove past my dad. I thought he’d let me walk out. Just leave and never come back... but he didn’t, he couldn’t. I ended up grabbing his wrist as he swung at me.
“What the hell are you doing,” I asked. “You’re my dad. You’re supposed to care about me. What the actual fuck is wrong with you? I fell in love. It should be a happy thing. Plain and simple.”
He didn’t respond. I felt tears in my eyes.
“You just don’t care,” I whispered through the tears. “You think that you failed because I fell in love with someone who didn’t have a penis. How pathetic are you?”
I stormed down the stairs. I was done with it all. My hand was on the door handle when I heard my dad speak up behind me.
“If you walk out of this house, you will never get to walk back in.”
I clenched my jaw for a second.
“I wasn’t planning on it,” I snapped.
As soon as the front door closed behind me, I took off running. That was the glory of having a duffel bag and a backpack... no wheels to trip on while moving.
“Please still be there, please still be there,” I mumbled as I continued running.
My steps slowed down for a second. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw the Waverider still there... and Zari still outside. I started running again.
“Zari,” I yelled. She looked over at me with confusion. I threw my bags down and hugged her tightly. “I’m sorry, I’m so fucking sorry. I’m sorry.”
“What happened,” she asked, hugging me back slowly. I moved back slightly.
“My... my brother saw us at some point,” I explained. “My whole family was waiting when I got home. They wanted to send me away to ‘fix me’. So... I ran. I ran home... to you.”
“What?”
“I love you, Zari,” I continued. “I am not going to be told that how I feel is wrong. You made me feel so free. You have changed so much for me. You became my home. You’ve healed me... or at least started to. I don’t want to lose that... I don’t want to lose you. I love you.”
“I... I love you too,” she replied. “But that’s your family.”
“No,” I shook my head. “The Legends are my real family. I want to be with my family.”
“You’re being serious,” she asked. I nodded, tears finally falling.
I leaned forward and kissed her softly. Her hands touched my waist softly as I moved to cup her cheeks. She pulled away this time.
“I love you.”
“I love you too,” I whispered.
“Come on,” she stepped back, motioning to the Waverider. “It’s time for you to get settled in.”
“Okay,” I picked up my bags.
I grabbed her hand as the door opened. She looked at our hands before smiling at me. I could get used to this... I already was.

Spills and Drills
Pairing: Dentist!Bucky Barnes x Reader [AU] Word Count: 4862 Warnings: fluff
Summary: Although you love sleeping in you learn that sometimes good things come to those who wake up early.
A/N: This is my submission for @teamcap4bucky Teamcap4bucky’s 2k Celebration Writing Challenge! My prompt was “Why are you staring at me?” Thank you as always to Sam @buckyofthemyscira for beta reading, I love you 3000! 💕 gif not mine
Hushed are the voices around you as the movie theatre lights dim to make way for the bright screen illuminating the upcoming releases. You’re comfortable in the red leather seat, with your hand digging into the bag of popcorn in your lap. The melted butter makes the salt stick to your fingers but you don’t mind at all, sucking them clean into your mouth after each handful.
Your name is called, no, shouted over the heavy thwong of the music in the movie trailer. You nearly jumped in your seat wondering why Shuri is practically screaming your name. As you turn to face her everything seems wrong. She’s wearing the same white dress she wore for her sixteenth birthday party, the white one with the fishnet collar her mother thought was a little too casual for the celebration. Shuri would always be her little princess even if she didn’t dress like one.
“What are you doing?” you questioned as she continued to shout your name. “Stop. No. Shuri, stop it!”
With a gasping breath you’re jolted awake, squinting one eye open to see Shuri standing above you, her palms are still pushing against your shoulders.
“Y/N wake up!”
Oh, it was just a dream. The tension in your body relaxes as you nuzzle your face back into the softness of your pillow. “Shuri stop, lemme sleep, it’s Saturday,” you groaned.
“I know it is, I was sleeping too until your alarm woke me up. That thing has been going off for twenty minutes. Don’t you have an appointment to go to?”
Your eyes shot open. “Shit!”
You get up, throwing the blankets off yourself as fast as possible to get out of bed. Why you decided to make your appointment at 8am you’ll never truly understand. If I get up early I’ll have the whole day to be productive, you mock yourself in your head.
With a wide yawn Shuri leaves your room, saying she’s headed back to bed. Your own bed looks so inviting, it’s calling out for you to come back. It was very tempting to cancel the appointment and go back to sleep but you wouldn’t.
Your dentist is a really nice man who worked with you a few years ago during an emergency visit when you didn’t have insurance. He reduced his fees to the bare minimum and even then let you pay him off over the course of a few months. He had a small practice in Brooklyn he ran with his wife and in the world of cheap deals on Groupon you knew he was struggling a bit.
In less than a minute you were dressed and rushing in to the bathroom to wash the sleep from your face and give a thorough brushing to your teeth. Morning breath was still heavy on your tongue so you made sure to scrape that well too. Checking your phone for the time you realized you might be cutting it close to your appointment, so you grabbed what you needed and headed out.
The subway ride was quick but you still had a few blocks to walk once you got out. The street was a lot busier than you expected especially for so early in the morning but that was mainly due to a new popular cafe that recently opened. The lines were crazy long and as much as you wanted to try their Instagrammable treats you figured you’d wait a little bit for the hype to die down.
Checking your phone once more you realized you had one minute to go and two long blocks to still walk. You picked up the pace and turned the corner at the cafe, looking down to secure your phone back in your bag and not paying attention to the person coming out of the door.
You collided with a solid frame, getting knocked back a bit but thankfully not falling. A dentist appointment is enough, you certainly didn’t need a visit to the emergency room. Something did fall however, the two cups of coffee the man was holding.
“I’m so sorry!” you blurted out, looking down at the mess on the ground, with coffee spilling out from the overturned cups.
Glancing up you saw the man standing there, still holding the now empty coffee tray in his hand, with his mouth gaping open in shock. Your own mouth dropped open while staring at what was possibly the most handsome man you’ve ever seen.
Tall and well built, looking unfairly good in a sharp black suit with a simple white button down, casually left open at the top. His rich brown hair was cropped short with perfectly groomed stubble covering his jawline.
Realizing you were gawking at him you shook yourself free from his handsome aura and prompted yourself to actually speak.
“I’m so sorry, please let me pay you for them,” you offered, digging your hand into your bag to pull out some money.
“No need, it was my fault,” he replied, with the words falling from his perfectly pink lips like silk. “Did I spill any on you?”
You were definitely sure this was your fault but the sincerity of his tone combined with the sweetest look those incredible blue eyes were giving you would make you believe anything he said. In response to his question you shook your head, not knowing if you were even telling the truth since you couldn’t bother to pull your gaze away from him again.
“I’m glad to hear that. Could I buy you a coffee for your trouble? Although it might take a while with this line,” he chuckled.
Yes is what you wanted to say. You would have waited in a month long line if it meant you’d be with this incredibly handsome man but you were definitely late to your appointment by now and you simply wouldn’t cancel on your dentist like that.
“I’m sorry I have to go,” you quickly trailed off as your feet began to carry you in the direction you needed to be. “Again, I’m so sorry about the coffee!”
You really wished you had woken up earlier, maybe then you would have had a spare moment to actually talk to the hot guy and try your luck at getting his number. He did offer to buy you a coffee so that seemed promising but then you remembered the two cups spilled on the ground. Two cups of coffee for one person didn’t seem completely unlikely but a guy as hot as that is definitely in a relationship. Oh well.
By the time you reached the office you were slightly out of breath after deciding that you should speed walk the rest of the way there to make up for lost time. It didn’t help that you picked the wrong jacket to wear on the awfully sunny morning.
It took a moment to steady your breathing before you rang the bell and were buzzed in.
“Dr. Barnes!” you exclaimed, not expecting to see him behind the reception desk where his wife usually is. “I’m sorry I’m late.”
“That’s alright Y/N, it’s a just a few minutes,” he confirmed, checking the watch on his wrist.
You followed Dr. Barnes down the hallway whose walls were lined with posters of people smiling, showing off bright white teeth that advertised all kinds of dental products and procedures.
“My next appointment actually cancelled,” he said, turning his head back a bit as he continued to take you to the examination room. “Turns out they didn’t want to get up this early on a Saturday.”
“I can’t imagine anyone that would,” you remarked with light sarcasm while sharing a smile.
The exam room had recently been redecorated with beigey-grey wood running throughout the floor. The former textured blue wall paper was gone, replaced by a fresh coat of light grey paint on all but one wall that was a deep teal blue. Dr. Barnes’ old desk and bulky computer were replaced by a modern floating desk and a monitor that was clearly a touch screen, though a wireless keyboard and mouse were on top of the polished surface.
You knew Dr. Barnes wasn’t comfortable with new technology. His flip phone made you laugh every time you saw it but it only added to his endearing charm. His wife Winnie adapted faster to her new phone though she has asked you the occasional question or two.
“The room looks great,” you said, hanging up your jacket on the small hook on the wall. “Did Winnie do this?”
His lips were pulled into a smile as he shook his head, “No, my son actually.”
You sat in the dental chair getting yourself comfortable as Dr. Barnes pressed a button for the automatic cup filler beside you as he continued, “He’s been back for a while now.”
Dr. Barnes would often talk about his children as he made small talk during the exam. His son James had gone to college in Indiana and also studied dentistry. Dr. Barnes had hoped James would eventually work at the family practice.
“…If only he learned to be on time,” Dr. Barnes sighed.
He glanced over at the frame on his desk, an picture of his family from over a decade ago when the kids were younger. From your angle you could see bright happy faces and James smiling with mouth full of metal. The poor kid ticked off all the boxes that made up an awkward teen, braces, acne and a lanky body with long stringy hair that looked like it needed a good wash. Rebecca, his daughter, thankfully didn’t look like she had any of the problems her brother did, and Winnie looked as radiant then as she did now.
“Where is Winnie anyway?” you wondered.
Dr. Barnes smiled at the mention of his wife’s name and you found it endearing to see how clearly in love they were. “Sleeping in this morning. Rebecca’s asked her to come along later while she looks for a wedding dress. Knowing my daughter, Win’s gonna need as much rest as possible!”
His fingers slowly clacked away at the keyboard, making you smile as he used both index fingers to slowly type out your name.”
“With Becca engaged I keep telling James he needs to catch up.”
“I’m sure he appreciates it,” you chuckled.
Dr. Barnes pressed the backspace key a few times, clearly unable to have a conversation while he was concentrating on typing. He let his hands rest in his lap for a moment, running his thumb along the gold band that has long since settled in the groove it created on his finger all those years ago.
“I just want to see him settle down with someone nice,” he said, pressing his lips together to form a tight smile.
You know he meant well and having had similar conversations with your own parents you can only assume the conversations are just as awkward for James as they are for you. A few times you’ve tried to explain to your parents how dating is much different today from their time but they don’t always understand. The conversation about why “nice guys” on the internet don’t actually exist seemed to have gone over their heads so you definitely understand James’ suffering.
“If it makes you feel better my parents say the same thing.”
Dr. Barnes’ sparkling blue eyes lit up at you words, as a smile slowly spread across his face. “Well, can I interest you in my son? He’s much better looking than I am and not a single cavity!”
“No cavities you say? That’s the first thing I look for in a man.”
The crinkles surrounding his eyes were prominent as Dr. Barnes gave a bellowing laugh. After finally pulling up your chart he briefly went over your medical history before taking x-rays. He placed the lead vest on your body and positioned the arm of the machine in place so he could begin. The sound of an ancient ringtone stopped his actions and Dr. Barnes excused himself to take the call in another room.
The weighted vest was comforting against your still sleepy form easing your eyes to gently shut. It would have been very easy to fall asleep but the dentist’s office was not the place for a nap. Instead you forced your eyes open, with a gasp caught in your throat as your jaw dropped in shock at what you saw.
Standing in the hallway in front your exam room was the man you bumped into outside the cafe, holding another tray with two cups of coffee. All thoughts about his looks went away because no matter how blue those eyes were or how chiseled that jawline was he was clearly a crazy stalker.
“Dude, are you kidding me?” Your mouth hung open in shock as you continued to stare at him. “I asked if you wanted me to pay for the coffees and you said no so now you’re following me?!” What a psycho!
He stood there silently, gazing at you with a crazed look in his eyes.
“Why are you staring at me? You need to leave.”
The man did nothing but continue to stand there, his mouth hanging open in what you perceived as happy recognition. Who knows how many buildings he went to before finding the one you entered, and now that he was here what was he planning on doing to you?
Without thinking of the ramifications you shoved the lead vest off and grabbed the nearest dental tool on the tray. You wished it was the drill but instead it was one with a curved end. You’re not sure what it’s called but you know it’s sharp and you hoped it would do some damage to this lunatic if he tried to come closer.
The stranger’s mouth pulled into a wide smile as he dipped his head forward and let out a chuckle. His actions only made you more nervous so you gripped the tool even tighter and pointed it towards him in the most threatening way you could be with an instrument that scrapes tooth plaque.
“If you don’t leave right now I’m gonna call the cops!”
You knew it was a stupid thing to say, since technically if you did call 911 it would take some time before any police arrived, and realistically you should have called for Dr. Barnes instead.
“I– ” he begins before he turns his head to the side seeing a figure walking towards him.
“James!” Dr. Barnes proclaimed from the hallway.
James? As in pimple-face braces James? As in George’s son James? Oh no.
A metallic clang rang out through the exam room as you dropped the dental tool back onto the tray and jumped back into the chair. Your heart was pounding furiously in your chest as you quickly pulled up the lead vest and replaced it across your body, trying not to look like you just threatened your dentist’s son with a pseudo weapon.
“Hi Dad,” James responded in that beautifully smooth voice you heard not long ago.
Dr. Barnes came into your line of sight and seeing the two together made you want to kick yourself for not realizing it earlier. Their eyes were identical as was the little dimple on their chins though James stood taller than his father, and where Dr. Barnes was lean James was obviously muscular. The integrity of that shirt was put to the test the moment he got dressed and you found yourself growing hot at the thought of the younger Barnes in a state where his body would not be covered with clothing.
Dr. Barnes folded his arms across his chest, frowning as he huffed, “You’re late.”
“Sorry, I was bringing you coffee and then…” James stopped to share a knowing look in your direction, your own eyes flared with panicked anticipation wondering what he was going to say.
“... I bumped into someone and knocked them right out of my hand, totally my fault. Had to wait back in line again.”
Dr. Barnes swiped his hand down his face as he let out an expected sigh, “My son, the klutz.” He turned his head towards you, seeing the small curve your lips were pulled into. “See Y/N, this is why he’s single,” he joked.
James turned a few shades pinker with embarrassment at his father’s comment, especially when he locked eyes with you, seeing your own crinkling with unspoken laughter.
“Well it was kind of you to bring coffee but I’d rather you show up on time,” Dr. Barnes remarked.
James followed his father into your exam room as Dr. Barnes officially introduced his son. “Y/N, this is my son, Dr. James Barnes.”
“Bucky,” he said, extending his hand towards you.
“N-nice to meet you,” you replied, unable to contain the nerves in your voice.
Once again Dr. Barnes shook his head at his son’s actions, mumbling under his breath about how “Bucky” is not a professional name. It was all in good fun however as you could see the love they had for each other.
Turning his attention towards you again Dr. Barnes asked if you would feel comfortable with James finishing the exam and cleaning. “That call was from Winnie. She locked her keys in the car. So much for sleeping in.”
Your veins carried fear throughout your body as panic rooted itself deep into your bones. It’s not that you didn’t trust James or whatever he wanted to be called, in doing his job and Dr. Barnes would never steer you wrong but the fact that you would be alone with the hottest guy you’ve ever seen as his fingers probed your mouth made you feel more than awkward.
“Yeah, it’s fine,” you lied through your ready to be examined teeth.
George smiled as he said goodbye, joking that he was going to call you later so you could let him know the truth about how James did during the exam.
The younger Barnes followed his father out of the room, telling you he would just need a minute to get ready, leaving you time to mentally prepare yourself.
You can do this Y/N. He’s just a hot guy. There are plenty of hot people out there. He’s just a normal guy with extraordinarily good looks. Don’t stare at him like he’s got a metal arm or something. Be cool.
Shrugging your shoulders you tried to physically shake off any lingering awkwardness, well as best as you could while still wearing the lead vest. With the morning you had you were glad you remembered to put on deodorant, especially now as you’re sweating in the chair, hoping the sweat stains under your arms that were definitely starting to form were not visible.
Footsteps echoed closer on the new wood flooring alerting you to sit up a bit more as you anticipated James’ arrival once more. He looked even better somehow, forgoing the suit jacket for a white lab coat.
“Time to get you out of that vest,” he said, scrunching his face up adorably as he corrected his words, “I mean, time to take the x-rays t-then you won’t need to wear the vest, heh.”
Responding with an awkward chuckle you felt slightly comforted by the fact that you weren’t the only one feeling nervous with the situation. You focused your eyes on the teal wall ahead, ignoring the way his deft fingers assembled the piece for the x-ray that would go in your mouth, holding a tense breath as he asked you to open your mouth and bite down.
Your mind was not helping you keep cool as it imagined his simple request in a more seductive scenario, hearing that smooth voice giving commands was not something you were turned off by.
You managed to make it through the rest of the x-rays with minimal squirming in your seat, as you combated visions of ripping his clothes off with thoughts of Shuri and her obsession with watching pimple popping videos. That girl may be a genius but there is definitely something wrong with her.
James’ fingers brushed against your arm as he finally took off the lead vest. “You’re hot,” he said causing your eyes to widen. “I mean from the vest,” he quickly mumbled.
Bucky was thankful his back was towards you as he hung the vest back up on the wall, rolling his eyes with embarrassment by his poor choice of words. It’s true, your body was feeling warm when his fingers gently skimmed across your skin but Bucky thought you were hot the moment you ran into each other outside the cafe.
He kicked himself for choosing to stand in line for coffee again instead of trying to talk with you before you left to give you his number. It took all the strength in the world not to drop the tray of coffee again when he saw you in the exam room. He’s truly never been happier to have been at work before.
Though Bucky had been practicing dentistry for quite a few years now being around you made him feel as nervous as he was during his first day of clinicals. He attempted to make small talk with you as he began the exam, an onerous task on your behalf as you could only communicate with a few sounds as your mouth hung open.
It was difficult not to look at James as he checked and cleaned your teeth. The bottom half of his handsome face was blocked by a mask but through his safety glasses you could still see those beautiful blue eyes, as clear as the ocean surrounding a tropical island.
Apparently you were lost in dreamy thought, unaware your tongue had strayed from where it was supposed to be during the cleaning.
“Stick your tongue out further,” he asked and you complied, focusing on the ceiling tiles above instead as he continued. “Okay, you can sit up and rinse now.”
Bringing the small cup to your lips you swished the water around your mouth and spit out a mess of saliva and blood.
“I never know what to do with my tongue,” you said, referencing your earlier action although hearing the words out of context you’re not sure if he knows what you mean. “D-during the exam!” you quickly added. “I know what to do with it.”
You heard a chuckle from behind, realizing your extra comment made things worse and you should probably never speak again.
Your mouth still felt unclean, though you couldn’t tell if it was leftover residue from the exam or the stupidity of your words. As you pressed the button to refill the cup you focused on the fact that in a few moments you would be getting your new toothbrush, paying the bill and leaving forever.
James spoke just as you began to pick up the cup, “Well, I’m happy to say your oral is good.”
The shock of his words caused your fingers to let go of the delicate cup, spilling water all over the floor.
“Health!” he shouted, catching his mistake. “Oral health!”
Bucky’s cheeks burned hotter than the sun and he didn’t need a mirror to know he was currently a deep crimson shade to match the level of embarrassment he felt. He wanted to disappear, magically teleport himself back to Indiana where he was not a bumbling idiot.
A gasp pulled his attention towards you as your hands simultaneously covered your gaping mouth while apologies spilled from your lips faster than the water.
“No, it’s okay, it’s my fault,” he apologized.
Bucky left the room, internally chastising himself for the ridiculous thing he said. He was thankful his father was not here to watch his descent into complete incompetence. There was something about you that made him act like a fool. He wondered if he could blame it on laughing gas, claim there was a leak in the nitrous oxide tank.
He opened the supply closet letting his shoulders slump as he exhaled a deep sigh. There was no way he could come back from this.
James returned with a large roll of paper towels in hand. Getting up from the chair you offered to help clean the spill but he insisted you didn’t have to. Instead you stood to the side, and despite how tempting it was to look at him bending over as he cleaned the floor you shut your eyes, pinched the bridge of your nose and wished you were still dreaming, hoping Shuri would wake you up from this nightmare.
His foot stepped on the pedal of the garbage as he dumped the saturated paper towels, pulling off his gloves to dump them as well. You still stood silently, inching your way out of the room, knowing you’ll have to find a new dentist because you could never face James or Dr. Barnes ever again.
Bucky rummaged through a drawer before turning towards you, “Do you want green or blue...or…. uhh, I’ve got orange,” he spoke of the toothbrushes.
“Doesn’t matter.” Get the toothbrush, pay the bill, leave forever.
James handed you a blue toothbrush and you wondered if it was a conscious choice, a reminder about his eyes even though this basic color falls short in comparison to the beauty of those sparkling sapphires.
Following him to the front you nodded quickly when he spoke about scheduling another appointment in six months. It didn’t matter, you would be cancelling it as the time neared. With the bill paid you gave him an awkward goodbye with a stupid wave that was immediately added to the long list of regrets for the day, and quickly ran out of the door.
A few hours later you were feeling better. You told Shuri everything the moment you got back to your apartment and even though reliving the disaster that was your morning made you feel embarrassed all over again, when she rolled off the bed from laughing so hard it allowed you to let go of everything and laugh along with her.
The buzzing of your phone on the table woke you from a nap you didn’t know you had taken. Seeing Dr. Barnes’ office number you remembered he said he would be calling you to check how things went.
“Hi, Dr. Barnes,” you said cheerily.
“Hi Y/N, this is Dr. Barnes. Not that Dr. Barnes though, it’s Bucky.”
“Oh, hi.” All of the nerves came rushing back as your heart raced with fear, wondering why he was calling you. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah, it’s just you left your jacket in the office.”
You completely forgot about your jacket until you were nearly home and a gust of wind caused goosebumps to erupt all over your bare arms reminding you about the poor jacket you abandoned in the office. It was too late, the jacket was a lost cause, an innocent victim as a result of your awkwardness, now homeless because you were not going back for it.
“Oh… yeah,” you responded, trying to sound casual.
“That’s not the only reason I called.”
Bucky cleared his throat, forcing himself to say the apologies he’s been repeating in his head all day but this time to the person who needed to hear it.
“I wanted to apologize for today. I’m normally not…” He ruminated on his words, trying to think of something professional before settling on the truth “… a mess.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his admission and the sound eased some of the tension he felt immediately. If Bucky was being honest you thought you should do the same.
“Me too. I’d like to think I’m a lot more chill than I was today.”
“So threatening people with a sickle probe isn’t a normal part of your dental experience?” he joked, pulling more laughter from you. “In all seriousness, I’d like to return your jacket and maybe I could buy you that cup of coffee?”
Bucky’s voice went higher with uncertainty as he silently hoped you would say yes to his offer. The momentary silence was deafening as he waited for your answer.
“I’m not sure it’s a good idea…”
Bucky’s heart sunk to the floor. He was wrong to think you felt the same about him. Clearly you wanted to keep things professional, something he was clearly incapable of.
“…I heard coffee stains your teeth.”
Relief washed over him quickly, helping to slow the rapid beat of his anxious heart. His lips stretched wide across his face as he said, “Maybe it’s another excuse to see you again.”
Heat rushed to your cheeks and you chewed on your bottom lip to help contain the smile that threatened to spread all the way to Brooklyn. You decided to meet at a coffee shop in the middle, leaving you just enough time to get changed and attempt to look presentable again.
“I’ll see you soon Bucky,” you said, getting up and eyeing your closet for something to wear. “And I promise I won’t knock it over.”
“I hope not because it was definitely your fault this morning!”

Tony Stark’s Home for Wayward Monsters
irondad and spiderson fluff
Tony’s life isn’t normal. He’s always known that. Hell, he’s Ironman. He’s been to outer space. Seen planets, defeated monsters, and when his own little boy gets bitten by a radioactive spider, honestly-
It’s all part and parcel of his life.
Peter Stark is the cutest little six year old in the world, as far as Tony and the other avengers are concerned. He’s so tiny, with the chubbiest cheeks and angelic chestnut curls and he bounces around and climbs up ceilings and makes little web-hammocks in the corner of rooms and often scares the life out of his old man by poking his little head down from the ceiling and Tony jumps so hard he nearly breaks his leg.
Peter is also the sweetest thing in the world. He’s such a good kid. Kind to a fault, and Tony would destroy everyone if Peter so much as grazed his knee.
Peter eats all his vegetables and gets excited by homework and is patient and adoring when watching Tony in lab- all big deer eyes and enthusiastically asking if he can have a go with the radioactive goo now, please daddy?
Natasha strolls in after picking Peter up from kindergarten one sunny afternoon, and Tony sips his coffee, frowning at the look on her face. She looks happy. That’s never a great sign-
And then Peter walks in-
He’s got a gigantic husky in his arms. The dog is bigger than him, seriously- but Peter’s strength- Christ- and that dog is all teeth and scabbed fur and-
“Daddy! Daddy! Look, Auntie Nat and I found a puppy!” says the big ball of fur with legs.
Tony stands, immediately wanting to yank Peter away from the dangerous canine, but the husky is apparently very content to be petted as Peter sets him down and then throws his arms around him in a bear hug.
The husky hooks its giant head over Peter’s shoulder- surrounding the boy- and bares his teeth as if Peter’s his young and Tony is the threat when-
Natasha takes pity on him, and hoists Peter easily out of the dog’s hold, and into Tony’s arms.
Peter giggles delightedly- dog fur all over his clothes. “Can we, daddy? Please! Please, please! I’ll look after him, I promise!” And his eyes are so wide and so earnest and-
Tony can’t say no.
***
But he taught his son a lesson that day. He taught his son that scared things, with too many teeth and not enough love, are to be brought up to the penthouse for their new home.
Peter, not two weeks later, comes in with Bruce (who was on pick up duty today, not like it’s a chore, though) and a man smeared with dirt and one very shiny metal arm.
“Daddy!” Peter announces proudly, “this is Bucky!”, and he tugs ‘Bucky’ (who looks so terrifyingly like an assassin that Tony briefly considers suiting up) into the penthouse.
Bruce looks utterly dazed.
Bucky looks frightened.
Ginger- the ferocious, but in actuality adorable, husky, rushes over to lick Peter’s face, and then nuzzle like a cat between Bucky’s legs.
Bucky relaxes, just a little, and pets the dog’s head.
“He was lost, daddy! And he doesn’t have a home!” His little face looks utterly-heart broken, and Tony stares in disbelief.
“I…” Bucky shakes his head, and tries to gently extract his fingers from Peter’s little hands, and looks very confused when the grip doesn’t come away. “I…He found me- I was- in an alley, and he said- something about-“
“A feeling,” Tony sighs. Peter’s ‘spider-sense’. A sort of extra-sense that tells him when something wrong is happening close by. “Listen, Peter- I’m sure Bucky here has-“
“Nowhere to go.” Peter pouts firmly, looking up at Tony with wide-eyes that glimmer with betrayal. “We’re gonna…he’s staying, right daddy?” He whispers, and Tony looks down at his little boy and-
Gives Bucky a guest room.
Just for the night.
***
Three weeks later, Bucky - the winter soldier- is firmly a part of the family. He takes Ginger for walks and has nightmares which make him stay up late at night with Tony in the lab, talking in hushed tones about Hydra, and giving information that’s vital- incredibly vital- to tracking down the last remnants of them.
Steve had taken one look at him and Tony had groaned.
Steve’s eyes had gone immensely blue and his jaw had dropped and Bucky had blushed and-
Tony had pinched the bridge of his nose and poured more coffee, before making Peter another blueberry pancake.
*** Peter is a few days before his seventh birthday, when he comes home with an astounded Clint, and a man with long black hair and angry-defiance in his eyes.
Peter is also dragging a huge hammer in his free hand.
It’s leaving a dent in the floor.
Tony stares.
And then sighs.
So Loki is a god, who Peter and Clint had stumbled across on their way home (maybe Tony should switch Peter’s school) and found Loki crying and trying to lift this hammer.
Peter had thought he’d needed help- and lifted it in one easy motion and now-
His seven year old is heir to the throne of a planet he’s never heard of.
“Cool,” Clint grins, ruffling Peter’s curls as Loki sulks in the corner, “make me a Duke or something, yeah, Petey?”
Peter shakes his head solemnly. “That would be abusing my powers.”
Tony can’t help it- he laughs. But he waggles a stern finger at Loki. “We are not keeping him.”
Loki gapes indignantly. Peter scrunches up his tiny nose in confusion. “But he’s hurt- and we…we help people when they’re sad and lost, don’t we, daddy?”
Bucky doesn’t meet Tony’s eyes, and Tony sighs.
*** It turns out though, Loki only stays for a few months.
And it’s a shame, really, because- goddamnit, the snooty prince was starting to grow on Tony.
Loki could conjure allusions- beautiful and intricate- and had spent a great many hours showing Peter little stories in the air- looking pleased at Peter’s effusive praise over Loki’s talents.
Loki could shape-shift- into anything- but mostly a pretty pony that Peter would ride around the penthouse.
Although, Loki sometimes stared at Tony’s arc-reactor for a touch too long, like he wanted to steal it and its power-
But then Peter would ask for some hot chocolate and tug on the end of Loki’s green robes and-
The god would settle back down.
But then in a hail of thunder and lighting, there’s another god landing in his living room- yelling with joy over having found his brother and his hammer and the new heir to the throne-
And Tony finds himself with the newest member of the avengers.
*** Bucky’s packing to move in with Steve when Peter’s eleven.
Tony muses over how different the penthouse will be without him-
And that’s when Peter comes home with a homeless man.
“He’s not homeless, dad,” Peter rolls his eyes, dragging in the sweaty wreck of a human being in behind him, “he’s got a symbiote.”
“It’s a parasite!” The man chokes desperately, looking like he’d love to run out, but his limbs keep jerkily propelling him forward. “A parasite!”
“Don’t call Venom that!” Peter scolds, reaching out his hand to pat some black goo on Eddie’s arm. “He’s much more than a parasite.”
“Yes, little spider,” croons a hissing voice that Tony- Tony cannot be dealing with this shit right now. “The spider understands. The spider would make a good host. But not better than you, our dearest Eddie-“
Tony hoists Peter up into his arms, settling him on his hip and shaking his head at Eddie (who he’s starting to recognise as that reporter who went missing) and saying firmly: “Ground rule: No using my son as a host.”
Eddie scrubs his face deliriously, and Venom asks for chocolate.
***
On Halloween night, Eddie comes back complaining about the taste of blood in the back of his throat, but his arms are cradled protectively around Peter who’s cuddled into his chest- supported by a tangled mass of black lines.
Tony looks up from his work and jerks to his feet- rushing over to his son.
“Some dude- tried to grab him.” Eddie whispers, and Peter is still crying a little, and Tony holds him tight- heart pounding. “We- I- We- we ate him.” Eddie mumbles. “Sorry.”
Tony decides right then and there, that Eddie might be his favourite... monster?Stray?
Tony spends the whole night eating chocolate with his son, praising him, telling him how kind and good and amazingly brave he is, and Ginger snuffles into Peter’s neck until the boy starts smiling again- wobbly and cautious.
Thor and Loki visit as soon as they realise what’s happened.
They bring a ship full of Asgardian gold.
Bucky comes too- and tells Peter about nightmares and how to make them go away.
Tony thinks there might be a thing to having a home for Wayward….monsters? Strays? Alien-people?
*** When Peter’s sixteen, he brings home a stray in the form of a boyfriend, and Tony is saying no before they’re even introduced.
“Dad,” Peter grins, rocking on his heels excitedly. “This is Wade-“
“No.” Tony says, but he has a horrifying feeling he’s already lost, because Wade is smiling like he won the lottery and- “No.” Tony says again, horrified.
Maybe he will send Peter to be the Asgardian King after all.
At least there won’t be any Wade Wilsons in space.
(Tony says yes, 6 years later, when Wade asks for permission for Peter’s hand. He also blasts him right in the chest with his gauntlet and Wade lets out a little ‘oof’. “You treat him right.” Tony says, though he’s said it before, and Wade has never ever treated Peter wrong. “It’s not just me who’ll destroy you- there are-“
“I get it, I get it. A whole universe of people on Pete’s side. Damn, your son’s really good at making alliances. You know he met some woman the other day? We were walking along and he got this feeling, so we went over to an old blockbusters and this woman named Carol was-“
“No.” Tony says, walking away. “No.”)

Doctor!AU Junhui
happy carat day~ the world’s sweetest, brightest, funniest boy, hope people see the other sides of him that i do ;-;
tw// mentions of mild domestic problems
Read Doctor!AU Jihoon | More Junhui au | More SVT au
2.3k | Fluff | Bullet | Not proofread
Mascot of the pediatric ward
Loves loves loves kids
The kids love him too, Dr. Wen is literally doctor of the year if you ask any of these kids
He’s not the only doctor in the whole ward, but he’s the most loved by everyone--the kids, the parents, nurses, techs, scribes, anyone and everyone who’s ever worked with him
And he’s loved for many reasons, Junhui has a way of getting kids to tell him many things
Treating children is a gift, they can’t always say what bothers them nor answer any medical questions. Their attention span is virtually nonexistent and they’re impatient, so what Junhui is able to do is truly a talent
Pediatric doctors must know how to create a non-threatening environment (even with sharp tools laying around) and ease their patients into a relaxed and cooperative state in order to treat them
Dr. Wen excels at his job
Speaks to the kids in this calm, innocent voice that ease their minds, all the kids not only listen to but also follow his words
Ever since Junhui was transferred to the pediatric ward, the amount of complaints from patients, parents, even nurses and doctors dropped exponentially
Bitter medicine? Dr. Wen has a way to get the kids to drink up
Homesick? He’s here to keep them company if he’s free
Everyone knows his skill is a talent, but he doesn’t think so. He’s just here because he likes children and hates seeing them in pain
The less patient there are in the ward, the happier he is, children shouldn’t be frequenting hospitals when they can spend their free time outside in the playground
Some kids get so attached to Junhui they wouldn’t go to bed if he didn’t personally come and say goodnight
One of the residents, Zhennan, brings his baby brother to work sometimes because he didn't have a babysitter, and little Haohao is so fond of Junhui he keeps leaving the playroom to ask for piggy-back rides and airplane rides from the doctor (here!)
Zhennan, sulking but trying his best to be nonchalant: he loves you more... that’s fine;; i guess
Junhui, holding Haohao on his shoulders: noooo please take him back i have to work :((
Goes to work in scrubs like all the attending doctors but,,, he looks Extra Good™
Obviously because of his blessed good looks, but also he just has this natural air of royalty
wears the white coat because the kids like to dig up candies in his front pockets (he always keeps them stocked)
Hair gelled back, forehead for days, bright eyes and a beautiful heart-shaped smile that lit up the entire ward
Honestly looks so expensive some days like he’s just in scrubs but the way he carries himself speaks a whole other story
People assume he probably drives an expensive sports car and owns a million dollar mansion but then they see him crouching down on the floor ruffling a kid’s hair and pinching his cheeks and they’re like… he’s just made of good old father material
Lowkey has a fanclub in the hospital
He kept to himself and doesn’t wander to the other wards often, except to visit Jihoon from ER or Wonwoo from Psych on consultation calls, but generally he’s in the pediatric ward or walking around doing his rounds on patients
Like most hospitals, people come to the nursery all the time to see babies and ease their stress
Let’s just say that recently more people have come for purposes besides looking at babies
Dr. Wen is so careful and gentle with his hands and words that the nurses ask him to administer shots to the crybabies when they’ve run out of options, and even though it’s not really his job, he likes to help out any way he can
Smiles a lot when he’s with the kids, a whole six feet something crawling on the ground, if he must, to communicate with them
There’s a no running policy in the hospital but the kids are an exception and so is Dr. Wen
He’s a cHILD
Will play tag with them if they asked because he wants them to spend their time like how they would in a playground with their peers
Has fallen multiple times catching kids or just plainly tripping over himself to prevent them from falling
Actually acts like a child sometimes that doctors and nurses take care of him with parental eyes
Nurse Seungkwan is always like, “doctor please don’t drop the child.”
Dr. Wen holding a kid from up top like, “don’t worry, he likes airplanes :D”
But Seungkwan knows how much Junhui treasures each and every patient, so he lets it slide...for now
It’s still a handful dealing with Junhui though poor Seungkwan someone get him a drink
You only know him from the rumors, something about a very handsome doctor from pediatric that loves playing with children, your colleagues visit that section of the hospital sometimes just to catch a glimpse of him
It’s really not your business, you were never gonna see him anyway since you work legals for the hospital, handling lawsuits and medical jurisdiction and whatnot
Until a case comes up that pertains to one of the outpatients the ER admitted
Apparently, after receiving emergency care, the patient snuck to the pediatric ward to see her son who was hospitalized at the time, but she didn’t have any visitation rights from the child’s father and thus the father sued the hospital for letting this happen
It’s a simple case and can easily be settled, but the child’s father was adamant about meeting the mother with the presence of the hospital’s legal team as well s an attending doctor, so here you both are
You thought words didn’t do Dr. Wen justice, you didn't think any doctor could look this handsome
Isn’t there another job title for someone born with those looks? Like actor, or model?
Junhui doesn’t look thrilled to be here and he’s a little jumpy, and at first you chalked it up to him feeling nervous, but then you noticed him glancing and smiling reassuringly at the little girl beside him... he was just worried for the child’s mental state
The meeting wasn’t pretty, at one point her parents were so heated in their argument that the child visibly recoiled, Junhui had to stop the parents and asked to be excused with the child
The meeting ended in a settlement, and you thought it could have been handled better without aggravating the little girl, but it wasn’t your place to speak so you held your tongue
It wasn’t Junhui’s place either, but he got angry regardless because his first priority is his patient’s wellbeing
You have to admit, it was a pleasant surprise compared to some of the doctors you’ve worked with who cared more about not getting sued
You thought he was a pretty great guy
Such a pity that this would probably be the last time you see him, right?
it’s not
Out of all the people to get snowed in with on a particularly late shift, it’s Dr. Wen from pediatrics
Just your luck that none of your friends were working a shift--Mingyu from dermatology dipped at noon when he heard about the snow storm, and Vernon from ortho was chilling at home on his off day
Just your luck that you decided to go sit outside the infant wards to wait it out, running straight into Dr. Wen who just got off work
And it’s not that you’re... awkward around Junhui, there just isn’t much to talk about between you two
You’ve met up a few times for lunch since you had mutual friends and had casually moved on to a first-name base, but you never really spent time alone with him
So you were somewhat surprised when he offered to wait with you instead of his other friends who were also snowed in
“It doesn’t look like it’ll stop soon, we might have to wait it out till morning.”
“Oh, well, at least I have company,” you smiled.
It was strange, you really don’t feel awkward with him as you usually would around others
Maybe it’s because he deals with kids, he seems so carefree and welcoming that the silence between you two is just comfortable
or maybe his pretty smile just puts you at ease
And it’s because of this easy space that you got to know him a lot more that day
You found out he became a doctor because of his little brother
He likes to cook sometimes, though he’s limited to basic midnight-snacks type of meals
He plays piano, and he’s admittedly more shy than he looks
He also has a really easy way to get you to open up
and his laughter is so warm
Junhui learns a lot about you, too, and the more you talk, the more you regret not having this conversation with him sooner
When you met up for lunch the next week, scribe Chan and nurse Seungkwan could visibly feel something was going on
Chan, when Jun was out of earshot: is it just me or is something different between you two?
Seungkwan: be quiet and eat your food before Jun-hyung gets mad at you
Chan: eyyy i’ve never seen Jun-hyung get mad mad
Seungkwan: hmm you know what, I’ve worked with him for years but I haven’t seen it either
Chan: right? I mess up on my charts sometimes and would have gotten strikes if it was with another doctor, but Junnie-hyung never got mad at me
Seungkwan: I wonder how scary he is when he’s mad,,, but can such a carefree guy be upset over anything?
You: what do you mean? of course he can
Chan:
Seungkwan:
Chan:
Seungkwan: wait--
Chan: you’ve seen it?!
Junhui, coming back to the table confused as to why Chan and Seungkwan are looking at him with their eyes wide opened: what? why are you so quiet? what did i do? D:
To think Junhui has never gotten angry at anything until his patient was put in harm’s way,,, you’re grateful to be able to see how much he cared for others. You thought he was truly kind.
Slowly, lunches turn into dinners, and your friends faded away in the background
Since your work schedule aligned on most days, you would get off work at the same time as Junhui, and it became almost routine that you go out for dinner together out of conveniency
Then conveniences turn into plans, and soon, you were spending almost all of your free time with Junhui
You like how he sees the world through these rose-colored frames, his view so optimistic and childlike
But you also see the hardworking side of Junhui, the lack of sleep and stress he faced pulling double shifts and on-calls to make sure the kids always have someone in case of an emergency
Of course he has worries no matter how carefree he may seem, everyone does, and you’re thankful he’s learned not to shoulder every difficult thing alone, because now he shares them with you
On such days, you always bring breakfast and spend your early morning with him so he can have a little break
He gets a little defensive when you ruffle his hair, “I’m not a kid you know? I have a pretty cool image to uphold around this part of the hospital.”
but he welcomes the comfort and warmth you bring
he doesn’t have a cool image everyone knows he’s a kid
Junhui appreciates your every moments with him, and didn’t realized he had grown to see you as someone special until his little brother asked him one night if he has a favorite person at the hospital
the first person he thought of was you, except.. you weren’t like Wonwoo or Seungkwan or Chan or Jihoon
You’re a friend... but you’re also not
To him, you were more than that, and he felt silly it took him this long to realize
He didn’t call it a date the next time you hung out, but he held your hand for the first time (and giggled to himself afterward, thinking you didn’t see, but you did)
Then Junhui picks you up to and from work whenever he can, holding your hands in the car, holding your hands on dates, holding your hands when he introduced you to his little brother
Your lunches together was almost like a parade as everyone now knows that you’re dating Dr. Wen Junhui from pediatrics
Nothing has really changed, except Mingyu was sulky when Seungkwan and Chan proudly said they witnessed this budding relationship, and the infamously intense Dr. Lee Jihoon from ER gave you a thumbs up when you worked with him on a case
Junhui speaks highly of you to anyone he meets, and though the attention makes you a little embarrassed, you love that side of him that isn’t afraid to speak his mind
There’s a deep maturity to him that isn’t often seen until he’s ready to show it, and you’re glad to be able to see this side of him
There’s the other side of him too, the one that sneaks up on you for a warm hug, squeezes your hand in between passing, and kisses you behind closed doors
Occasionally he’d just sit with you when you come to visit, taking the time he spends with you as a break from his hectic schedule
He would lean on your shoulder for comfort and play with your hands as you tell him about your days, chatting about the future and losing count of how many cats you’ve named together
When you saw him nodding off to the soft vibration of your voice, you felt a surging sense of comfort, of familiarity that only exists in your small bubble of happiness
Junhui feels like home, and you never want to be anywhere else
-V
