theorizing

It's still early in the event, but I'm already trying to think about what Hot Topic Issue this year's Halloween event might tackle (assuming it follows the precedent set by GloMasq and Playful Land). Here's the theory I present to you: the conflict will be about escapism and where to draw that divide between fantasy and reality. Why do I think that? Because there are lots of parallels between our shiny new guy on the block, Skully, and us, Twst fans.

Book 7 presents a similar idea when Lilia and Malleus discuss the life cycle of Gao-Gao Drago-kun, how short it is, and how convenient it would be if the virtual pet could live forever in a fantasy world. In the same book, Yuu has finally found a potential route home... meaning an end to their story and their time in their current world. Read another way, it can be said that we, the Twst fans/players, are like Malleus, not wanting anything about our lives in Twisted Wonderland to change. We want to stay here among these characters we have come to love and grow close to, not return to our boring mundane lives in our original worlds... in reality. Likewise, similar points of comparison can be drawn between these themes and Lost in the Book with Nightmare Before Christmas, even as early as part 1.

Now in this allegory, Skully represents us, the average Twst fans. Here's the parallels I noted:

Skully is notably a first year, which matches up with the grade level that Yuu (the player self-insert/POV character) is assigned to

Skully attends a school where his peers don’t understand him or his interests. This mimics the experience of some Twst fans, who may be misunderstood even within the anime fandom. How many times have people joked “Oh, you like the Disney dating sim?”/assumed that Twst is cringe? Can you talk to fans of traditional Disney about Twst? Twst may be somewhat niche in your immediate area. Chances are, you have to retreat to online avenues to find like-minded fans. In this way, Twst fans may feel isolated or not understood.

He does not like to talk about school because he doesn't have many people who understand him, perhaps due to his eccentricities. Again, this may not directly translate to all Twst fans, but rather it can be very relatable to those who lack social connections and seek to fulfill that through fandom or escaping into a fantasy world.

Skully is an otaku for Halloween. And what are we, as Twst fans, if not also otaku?

He looks mysterious but has excitable reactions. The behavior reminds me of someone who can be very sociable online or in special circumstances but might come off completely differently in real life or initially due to how their face looks and how they dress.

The strongest parallel, however, is the fact that he, like Yuu (again, the player self-insert character) ALSO gets isekai'd... into the world of The Nightmare Before Christmas. And what happens in this world that Skully gets isekai'd to? He... 1) meets lots of new people--people that don't know him in the "real" world, so he is free to act however he wants around them, maybe even befriend them, 2) gets to meet his Halloween idol, Jack-sama, 3) gets to be praised by his idol, and 4) (presumably) helps out his idol with putting together this year's Halloween. THESE LINE UP ALMOST EXACTLY WITH WHAT YUU DOES WHEN THEY'RE ISEKAI'D INTO TWISTED WONDERLAND... Yuu, who represents you, THE TWST FAN. You, as a Twst fan, 1) meet and potentially befriend these new characters (and maybe even explicitly made an OC to act however you like in your place as the one meeting these characters), 2) hone in on your favorite(s), 3/4) hyperfixate on the intimate voice lines and the moments you have with your favorite(s). It's total wish fulfillment for both Skully and the average Twst fan. In other words, Skully will get lost in living the fantasy that is literally being transported into the world of his Favorite Thing Ever, just like we, the Twst fans, escape to Twisted Wonderland. In the book/Twst, you can be yourself or whoever you want to be. But what happens when that peace and comfort is about to be taken away? Perhaps that's when Skully will snap 🤔 refusing to return to his old life, where he was awkward and misunderstood... wanting to stay in this endless Halloween night forever and ever. Maybe he even tries to prevent the NRC students from leaving too, since he has now formed a friendship (?) with them? Like, he's trying to keep them trapped in this fantasy of his (very Malleus-core of him, honestly). Then it would be up to us to try and knock some sense into Skully, reminding him that there are things in the "real" world to look forward to as well.

Looking back at previous Halloweens, the conflicts presented usually tie back to something relating to the Disney counterpart's own identities. For example, Frollo (in the stage version) lost his younger brother to sin and pinned the blame on an entire group of people. Rollo lost his younger brother to sin and now seeks to eliminate that sin (magic) from the world. Honest John and Gideon worked for a shady guy and lured away children, even though they themselves were terrified of what would become of those kids. Fellow and Gidel are similarly forced to do this dirty work because they are so impoverished they need the job, even if their boss disrespects them. I think my theory about what Skully's whole conflict will be could work from this angle too. The character he is twisted from, Jack Skellington, is known to be somewhat naive and an idealist. Jack pursues Christmas with all of his undead heart, sure that it will return the "spark" that Halloween has since lost. This could be reflected in Skully, our twisted!Jack, in his desire to pursue Halloween--or, more specifically, this novel world where his passion is reinforced and he has a place in it. He would be naive to the world he snubbed in favor of this new one, deeming this new world superior (like how Jack thought the "new" Christmas would enhance the "old" Halloween).

Henry bowers:

The worst thing Henry has done to you is really hard to narrow down in your mind, he makes your life a hell on earth every day so nothing stood out as the worst

Until the day you accidentally made him jealous

A boy from your ballet class had stopped you after class to ask you a few simple questions about your specific techniques during the duet the two of you had

The boy made the mistake of mentioning This duet in front of the entire bowers gang, earning him deadly glares and your pleading look for him to just shut up

You expected Henry to blow up at you the moment the boy left, but he stayed quiet the entire walk back to your house

Which was even more terrifying

Once you all reached your home, he sat you down on your couch and told you a story from when he was a child

He told you about how when he was younger he had a favourite shirt that he wore to school everyday because it was his only clean shirt, but one day his shirt was taken and he had to go back to his house shirtless and in tears as he told his mother what happened

“Do you know what she told me, sweetheart?” He had questioned with a sinister look “if you don’t want someone taking what’s yours, you should put your name on it”

He commanded that the other boys hold your squirming body down on the floor as he got his pocket knife out

He pulled up your skirt and revealed your thigh before carving his initials onto your upper thigh as you screamed and cried in pain

He didn’t cut deep enough to require stitches, but it was deep enough that he was sure it would leave a mark on you forever

Once he finished, he let you lay on the floor in shock and pain for about ten minutes before commenting on what a mess ‘you’ had made on the floor and commanded that you clean up the blood dripping onto the floor

You cried as you cleaned before getting up and trying to care for your injured thigh

As an added bonus to his cruelty, if you backtalked/ got angry at him for the injury, he would grab some salt from the counter and would put in his palm before covering your injury with his hand and rubbing the salt in it

You had to start wearing thicker tights to ballet after that, but the boy had gotten the message

His broken ankles and bruised face had told you that the boys had told him exactly who you belonged to

Patrick:

You’d never felt comfortable around Patrick, ever

He wasn’t as feared as Henry was and he wasn’t as strange as the other boys, he just made your skin crawl

His touches would linger on you for so long that you’d want to carve the skin off just to rid yourself of his touch

But all increased when you were left on your own with him for a night

Henry had told Patrick to stay over for the night on the usual Friday ‘date’ night that you and Henry had, Henry reasoned that Patrick deserved a reward for helping him so much lately

The night started off with forced cuddling during a movie after you had made him dinner and you wanted it to end after the movie but Patrick had different ideas

He followed you to your bedroom and told you that he wanted to sleep in your room for the night

Now normally Patrick was around the other boys so his forced affections had a limit that stopped him from doing anything that made you too scared for your own safety

But but not tonight, tonight it was just the two of you and that thought made you almost wish it was Henry in Patrick’s place

Patrick forced you onto the bed and proceeded to grope you as you cried for him to stop but he didn’t listen

He continued to touch you for his own satisfaction until he grew bored and he laid you down in your bed and cuddled close to you

You remember thinking that him sleeping on your chest was possibly the gentlest thing he’s ever done to you as you cried yourself to sleep in the arms of your abuse

Once you woke up, you notice that Patrick was being unusually nice to you and even defended you from the other boys when they got to rough

This continued for a few weeks until it wore off and he began to be meaner to you then before, that’s when you realised

He saw being kind to you as a repayment for his assault on your body

And you feared the next time he would come to collect his next payment

Victor:

Victor was a very possessive person, he always thought that anything good in his life would be torn away from him

And he saw you as an extension of that, he knew that you were too good to be true and that one day someone would take you away from him and the others

That’s why he reacted so badly when he found out about you sneaking off during class to smoke with Beverly

He knew he couldn’t make it so you could never be around people, but he could definitely make it harder for you to interact with people away from him

He cornered you one day on the way back from your little smoke break and pushed you into the janitors closet

He pulled the pack of cigarettes out your pocket and he pulled one out before lighting it and putting it in your mouth and making you smoke it

He let you get halfway through before he pulled up your shirt to reveal your ribs and holding it there

He took the lit cigarette from your mouth and put it out on your bare skin

You cried in agony at the burning sensation but victor quickly silenced you by pulling out another cigarette from your pack and lighting it and forcing you to smoke it again before putting it out on your ribs

He continued to do this until you ran out of cigarettes, so you had six cigarettes burns on your skin as you cried and begged for mercy

He claimed that it was a punishment for smoking when Henry forbade you from smoking, but that was only a half truth

The real reason was the fact you were interacting with someone outside of him, you were with someone who wasn’t him and it made him furious

After the punishment, he kissed your forehead and left to go back to class

The rest of the boys didn’t believe you when you told them about what happened, they simply stated that victor wasn’t aggressive enough to do that

He was, and he’d do much worse to that Beverly girl if he saw her hanging around you again and being a bad influence

Belch:

Out of all the boys, belch was always the one who was easiest to manipulate

He craved your validation, he needed your approval but most of all he needed to see you dance

He saw your dancing as the one beautiful thing in his life, his sole source of comfort and entertainment

You trusted belch, not a lot but way more than you trusted the rest

And he had caught you at a vulnerable moment when he found you crying in your bathroom with a look of pure horror

He asked you what was the matter and you just broke and fell down to the floor

He held you close, too close to the point it was painful, and he tried to comfort touch

He asked you again what happened and you cry your heart out as you admit that you couldn’t take much more of the constant abuse

You told belch through your cried that you thought about ending it just to get away from them

Belch stroked your hair as you cried yourself to sleep in his too tight hold before he put you in bed and walked to Henry’s house

When you woke up, all the boys surrounded your bed before Henry commanded Patrick and victor to hold you down

They do and Henry and belch stand in front of you before Henry tells you that belch had told him everything you confessed to

He was furious that you thought anyone could take you away from them, even yourself

He told you that he was going to take away something you loved as a punishment before making you try and guess what it was going to be

You guessed everything from your cigarettes to your bed, you only got your answer when belch took a hold of your ankle

You cried and begged and pleaded for mercy, saying you’d give anything

You reasoned that it could stop your ability to dance, and belch seemed hesitant and that but Henry calmly told him that he’d take that risk for you to learn your lesson

Belch was a strong guy, you knew that, everyone knew that

He was the muscle of the group for a reason

But his strength never really came to your mind until he started applying pressure to your ankle in a agonising way

He broke your ankle as you screamed and cried but Henry simply forced a shirt in your mouth to keep you quiet and forced you to make eye contact with belch

The boys forced some painkillers down your throat before leaving

Belch returned as quickly as he could in his moms care only to find you still writhing in pain on your bed

He put you in the car and rushed you to the hospital where he made sure to pay for you to have any medical treatments necessary

He lied to the doctors and told them that you’d simply tripped and fell down the stairs to excuse the bruises that layered your body and your broken leg

The doctors reassured you that it was a clean break and that you would be able to dance after a few months of resting and wearing the cast

You sobbed your eyes out at the thought of not being able to dance for that time and every time belch tried to comfort you, you’d practically shove him away

When the doctor left you alone, belch begged you to look at him and he pleaded that it needed to be done and he didn’t want to hurt you but you needed to be punished

No matter how guilty he felt, you had never been more accurately aware that this boy was not different from the rest

You’ve never looked at him the same or trusted him again since

In relation to my last post, I want to clarify some misinformation surrounding Dottore. I see a lot of it, and as someone who hyperfixates on him, I want to attempt to clear the air. Cause I feel like some of the hate towards him (and his fans) are based around misconstrued info.

Warning for spoilers!

Let me tell you the bad things he has done:

He has unlawfully experimented on living beings. Children, women, and men have been a victim of his. He even had a deal with the last Knave to send over the "rejects" from The House of The Hearth for experimentation.

Allegedly, he faked being a certified doctor as a way to experiment on patients at the Elezar hospital. Not cool man.

Also alleged, he killed a young woman on a picnic date and framed it to look like the tigers did it

Honestly he's probably done more but we don't know his entire story yet

Now that that's out of the way, let's go through the misconstrued information I often see.

"He unrightfully experimented on Scaramouche!" I know some people might not want to hear this but, those experiments, were a mutual agreement. Harbingers, as hinted at in voice lines, are not allowed to harm one another.

To back up my claim: Arlecchino has a voice line on Dottore that says "If he was not my fellow harbinger, I would have expedited their happy little reunion long ago." With context clues we know she's saying that if they weren't coworkers, she would've killed him so him and the previous Knave could dance around the flames in hell together.

With that we can conclude that the abyss experiments, the god experiment; Scaramouche agreed to it all. He wasn't forced to do any of it, because by harming another harbinger without an agreement, it would have caused dire consequences.

"He experimented on Collei!" While Collei was taken to The Doctor for "elezar treatment" it wasnt him who experimented on her. It was whoever this bitch is, as shown in the genshin comic

Blame that guy. That's the guy you wanna attack.

"Dottore killed Scaramouche's friend and caused his second betrayal!" You are correct on that, except there's a very important aspect of that that people gloss over. Dottore says "Jester, I have completed the task you gave me. Creating a gap and infiltrating Inazuma's inner workings."

He killed Scara's friend because Pierro gave him that task.

Kinda insane that he followed it up with "heh, what fun it was" but that's just a little quirk of his /j

All in all, he is a menace to society, I'm aware of that. People are allowed to hate him, just please hate him for the right and factual reasons!

Collei and Scaramouche fans (like to clarify: not all) love to infiltrate my inbox and go on rants about what Dottore did to them, yet most of it is incorrect (and in some cases, hypocritical). At least come at me with correct information.

He's a harbinger who has done bad things. If you have a favorite harbinger, there's a 100% chance that they also have done something horrible. They're harbingers, they've all done some horrid shit, that's basically their job. But they're also fictional horrid shit, so let's all hold hands and love our fictional criminals as a family.

That's not even getting into their Cam/William fic, because god, that is such a good rarepair. We love two immortals finding love with one another, we really do. My personal favorite has got to be their Huxley/Darlin piece though, because Darlin gets to be cute and awkward and so, so loved in it.

Explore their extremely well done masterlist, it’s beautifully put together, and you’ll find something you love. - You met Prince D with Cooper since you saw him escaping and told him you would come along since he was your best friend and you wanted to take care of him cause you also knew he was... different - So imagine getting abducted with him to see a male who looked EXACTLY like Cooper but he had a more chilled, laid-back face yet his eyes were staring at yours. - Love at first sight as your eyes shined at eachother like a zing as you both couldn't help but feel warm inside (HOTLE TRANSALVANYA HINT YA KNOW!! ZING!) - The male has gold tinsel-like fur on his neck. He has shorter and thicker dreadlocks than Cooper, which appear to have rings of gold on them and also wears an earring on his left ear, which matches the one worn by the older looking male troll beside him. - Your eyes shifted back to coopers who stood out beside you as you whispered to cooper to be careful you learnt everything about them from there genre to who they were - You stood beside cooper the whole time who heard his whole past and how they were looking for him the whole time while your jaw dropped eyes wide when glancing at cooper before your hands played with your fingers - You seemed to smile when you noticed he considers himself to be Hip hop rather than just Funk, and accepted Cooper considering himself both Pop and Funk after Cooper said that one doesn't have to be just one thing.

- When they were sent off you made sure to stay beside cooper you wanted to help your best friend and his family

- You and Prince D were dancing together vibing with the music smiling as you glanced towards Prince D who was singing with his mother before singing with you making you laugh - You and Prince D soon gotten closer after awhile - when you two hangout you lay against him when your both just sitting down playing with his hair out of boredom and sometimes adding some colorful beads beside the golden rings on his dreads - You like hearing the random beats he makes or snippets of some songs of hiphop and enjoy staring at him - After awhile you two were developing feelings for eachother which was very hard for Cooper to deal with cause well he tried so hard not to burst out the secret of you two liking eachother even though it was very difficult for him cause he finds it confusing how oblivious you were

- When you started to get too close almost seeing around each other with you smiling around him and clinging to his side as you blabbered away as he listened nodding his head - when someone gets the Cool laid back prince D jealous you giggle because he likes to look away with a slight blush with a pout on his lip if you point out - You love to make up some little dances that follow along to Prince D's beats just to get him to snort-laugh and smile at your shenanigans. - You and Darnell went on dates pretty often you already hung out constantly but you two had actual dates 2-3 times a week! - even if your diffrent trolls he cares for you ALOT your his partner after all Pop, Rock, Country, etc etc! he doesn't care he loves you for you - You would do stuff beside him if he is busy and would show off your works to him if you were an artist or did something cool. He enjoys how you explain how your day went. - Cuddles are amazing as he smiles at you evertime - If he finds any cool stickers that you would like he would get them and hand them to you as a gift or would find little thing slike pins or keychains and hand them to you as a way of him showing he remembered you - You end up visiting eachother alot and when you went to visit prince D he asked you out on date as you stared at him turning around screaming and turning back to him nodding "I would like that!" "Cool its a date"

Cooper

- You met cooper when poppy introduced you two too eachother since you were a baker and needed some help - so when poppy motioned for cooper to come in but he tripped and started laughing you couldn't help but star at him with wide eyes as your hand quietly grasped where your heart was for a slight moment feeling warmth grow on your cheeks. - Your eyes shined when meeting his as a Zing was felt a love at first sight when poppy left you showed him around - He helped you out with baking but he just daid to scare him and you failed cause he expected it but when you accidentally shut out the lights he screamed and pooped out cupcakes causing you to stare at him like an wild animal - Cooper's style of comedy is non-sequitur, meaning that he's silly often for the sake of being silly which you love about him - When you get tired though he lets you rest on him as he continues talking and laughing like always - He can't help but continue to laugh everytime when you make a little stupid thing but when you look sad he makes sure he does something stupidly sweet in return - You end up being around each other a lot and when you went to visit cooper he asked you out on date as you stared at him turning around screaming and turning back to him nodding "I would like that!" "Cool its a date" he laughed happily stomping his feet as you giggled cupping his face in your hands

Trollex

- You met king trollex at a rave - Trollex and Techno Beat Drop Button are best friends so it's obvious he's gonna talk to him about how he feels about you and how amazing you are when you start dating and when you weren't - You met at one of his raves you were dancing near the front with other techno trolls cheering - He loved your smile and how you danced around literally grinned wider when you two made eye contact as your heart swelled beating at the same time of the techno music - He told Synth to take over and wanted to get to know you... Literally swam towards you and welcomed you happily ( If your an different genre he would ask questions and if your an fellow techno troll he'd ask why he hasn't seen you around ) - when he stared at your eyes properly he couldn't help but stare with wide eyes as he felt his heart beat glow brighter when seeing you smile as you couldn't help but giggled staring at the heart on his chest that was beating faster - he likes to be around you he gets to be himself but you make sure he doesn't get out of hand and he loves it he's laid back and likes to vibe with you - You both get closer and vibe alot - As soon as you both hangout a month later he ends up rambling and trollex he ends up well he asked you out on date as you stared at him turning around screaming and turning back to him nodding "I would like that!" he spun you around and twirled you around as he grinned happily peppering your face with kisses

Synth

- Synth and You when you met? it was on a pier - You were listening to music and blasting the beat tapping your finger against the pier to a beat unaware of synth below who was trying to figure a beat out - When you played a beat he paused and pressed a button and when you continued to tap or stomp when listening to music he perks up and it becomes a good beat and he can't wait to show it off - You know when you listen to a tyoe of music so you go into your room and secretly dance or walk around thinking of a plot line or hyperfixating on an imaginary scene yeah that was you (I DO THAT PELASE DON'T TELL ME IM THE ONLY ONE) - Once he made the beat he jumped up from the water and spoke loudly causing you to scream but he apologized but it was super happy to get out of his music block - you soon got to know eachother for hours and end up always meeting at the pier - After a week He invites you to the rave where he was gonna preform the song he got the idea from you and you were like fuck it - Tell him what you really like and he will take his time he never starts an fight at all and would take it step by step but when your close to fighting he'll walk over slowly and whispering affirming words to make you calm down which works if you can't handle loud noises

- Synth wasn’t the most emotionally aware troll so he finds it hard to understand your emotions sometimes

- It takes him awhile but he gets there just for you and just to see you smile again cause if your not smiling he wouldn’t know what to do. - You were incredibly attracted to Synth's carefree, upbeat attitude and sense of humor. You love that Synth is always ready to brighten your day and make you laugh. - Synth took you to a rave and smiled as he cupped your face and kissed you on the spot before panicking and he starts asking you out and you both end up being flustered and nodding when he asked you to go on a date "I would like that!" he cheered placing a glow stick necklace around you to pull you into a kiss.

wip wednesday weekend

again, very much in a writing / hyperfixation rut BUT!! i decided to post blurbs from previous wips, in the hopes that it'll light the writing spark yet again.

so please enjoy quite a long blurb from an unfinished steddie fic based on that one scene in mamma mia where sam proposes to donna at sophie's wedding.

Eddie realizes then and there that he might never get an opportunity like this again. Well, he might but not another opportunity that has this level of show-stopping drama and Eddie lives for some drama in his life. 

And so, Eddie does what he does best and steps on top of the nearest chair, drawing the attention of the most chaotic wedding party he’s ever seen.

“Hang on!”

All the eyes in the room are on him in a split second and while he usually basks in all the attention, he also feel strangely nervous. But it’s now or never, everyone is already staring at him like he grew a second head, so he might as well continue. 

“Why waste a good wedding, huh?” Eddie grins as his eyes roam around the room before finally landing on Steve again. “How about it, Harrington?” 

The wedding guests once more erupt into hushed whispers of shock but Eddie can’t even hear them anymore. His sole focus is Steve, who looks at him like he’s certifiably insane. And maybe he is, maybe it is insane to propose to your ex from seven years ago during your friends’ canceled wedding, but Eddie’s just gonna take a chance. He’s not gonna run away, not this time.

“What?” 

Okay, not the answer Eddie was hoping for but he gets it. Maybe Steve needs a little more convincing. 

“Aw, c’mon. You gonna need someone to boss around in that newly empty apartment of yours and it might as well be me.” Eddie hops off the chair, his head cocked to the side and doing his best impression of Bambi to sell Steve on the idea. “What do you say?”

“Are you crazy?” Steve splutters, hands on his hips. His brows are furrowed and his lips are pursed in that famous Harrington scowl that Eddie knows and loves. 

“For you? Yes.” 

“You have a girlfriend!” Steve exclaims - which is quickly followed by grandma Wheeler’s 'oh dear'.

This makes Eddie frown because he very much doesn’t have a girlfriend, hasn’t had one in months not since- “Who? Donna? Nah, we broke up ages ago.”

“But- but- we live in totally different states.”

“I can pack up my things and move to Boston, no problem.” Eddie counters. “What else you got, because as you know, I can go on for hours.”

Steve apparently takes that as a challenge because that panicked look on his face melts away and is replaced by a cocky smirk and raised eyebrows. “What if I’m already dating someone?”

“Last thing I heard from Dustin you were dating that god-awful guy named Brad and considering that he isn’t anywhere to be found-” Eddie dramatically gestures around the room. “I figure that you did the right thing and dumped his ass.”

“You wouldn’t want to get married without Wayne here.” Steve counters, crossing his arms in front of his chest and God, Eddie had forgotten how hot Steve looks when he's up for a challenge.

“We’ll just have a second wedding. Periwinkle isn’t really my color either, but I’ll make an exception for you, sweetheart.” Eddie winks.

why did my favorite game turn into a dating sim? twst x gen reader (crack fic) CH 1: Bro got half a braincell

Intro CH:2 CH: 3

You were bored, like really bored.     So now you were sitting on the mattress that you called a bed while reading fanfics that hadn’t been touched by their authors after almost five years.  Scrolling absentmindedly through A03 you stumbled upon a new fic that somehow escaped your search.  It was titled 𝕋𝕨𝕤𝕥: 𝕋𝕙𝕖 𝔻𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕊𝕚𝕞, in that font, just published mere minutes ago.  “Well, there’s nothing else that I want to read” you shrug and tap to open your newest discovery.  You’re greeted by a page that is blank, completely barren of words, “Is my wifi bad?” You mutter and reload the page. The page remains blank, “Wait no summary? No chapter title? Nothing?” You stare confused at your screen Did someone forget to write anything and just press post? you think attempting to exit out of the fic.  You feel nothing but a sudden fear as you shut your eyes and feel a rush of cold air and cobblestone as you hit the ground.  "Ow...the hell?" you cry and step up "Ah, good you're here!"

     An unfamiliar voice calls out and you hear someone walking over to you.  You look up to face a man wearing a bird-like mask and dressed in rich attire.  “And you are?” You ask unamused.  “I am Dire Crowley, headmage of Night Raven College!” He smiles “All I heard was that I’m a stranger and I brought you here” you retort.  “That is correct! I brought you here from your world for a once in a lifetime opportunity!” Not convinced you continue “If that once in a lifetime opportunity doesn’t include free food and housing I don’t want it-” Crowley interrupts your comment “Trust me, your food and housing will be completely covered! For I am so gracious! Now follow me, for I shall tell you why I brought you here on the way to my office”.  I don’t suppose that I have much of a choice… you think to yourself “Alright bird man, let’s get going”.  You follow this Dire Crowley through what appears to be a school, there’s people your age walking around in uniforms of various colors.  Some are holding textbooks, some are discussing yesterday’s homework and some are using their movement time to nap on the benches. 

You both arrive at his office and he opens the door, you sit yourself down at the chair in front of his desk.  “Now explain why I’m here” You start and watch as he summons papers into his hand and places them on his desk.  “You are to be part of a special program here at Night Raven College, a program which includes teaching our students about the married life.  If they so desire to partake in it later in life” Crowley explains.  You nod and pause “Wait…so what does teaching your students about being married have to do with me?” inwardly you think Okay...this is definitely not the NRC I'm used to, there's no such thing as a marriage program.  He explains further “Well you see, I have contacted your siblings, and they say that this experiment would do good for you! So this is a win win situation for us yes?” nodding slowly you pause and mutter "Wait...why does this feel familiar?"  Stiffening you realize that you were summoned into the world of Twisted Wonderland, right in the middle of Night Raven College, a school full of cute guys...and a deadbeat principal...

    You gaze at the first page in the small stack that you were given, at the top there’s a section for your basic info.  Filling the first page out you flip over to the back, there are a few more basic questions, like what’s your best subject, your hobbies, and your likes and dislikes.  After filling out the first page you turn to the second, which has information about a young man named Riddle Rosehearts, there’s no photo set for either of you.  You knew a lot about Riddle, Twisted Wonderland was your current hyperfixation, so you knew damn well about everything for every character, you could probably be like Azul and blackmail everyone at school with the dirt you had on them.  Still, it was strange having their info presented to you on a sheet of paper, you usually used the wiki to get your info, wait...what if you get your own twst wiki page?  What if someone is studying your page like you studied your favorite boys'?  Shuddering at the thought you look through the what was written on the pages, Age 20...wait wasn't he seventeen in the original game? Is this an au or something? Birthday is August 24th, homeland is Queendom of Roses, man I wish my homeland was called that tbh... Best subject is practical magic…whatever that is.  He’s in the Equestrian club, righttt, I forgot that NRC is a rich kid school, ain't no way my school has the budget for horses.  Ughhh my sister was a horse girl, I do not wanna handle more seasons of Heartland.  Hobby is hedgehog tending? That sounds awfully cute, bro better share them hedgehog tending responsibilities.  Pet peeve is rulebreaking? Bruh, guys always do this…” you remark sighing.  "Shall we introduce each other properly?" I noticed a kind of pattern among texts so perhaps it works that way with all characters? Upgrading the damn affinity takes forever though!

Yes, I can see character stories! I thought all of the characters had patterns like that as well, but there isn't really one on closer inspection. Most of them have at least one interaction with another character(Romeo yelling at Taiga, Ren getting annoyed at Towa, Subaru apologizing to Haku and Zenji. . .) and two in-person interactions(except Kaito, he has one.) Haku's date, however, is off screen at this point. Maybe an on-screen one will be added at higher affinity.

Somebody asked me to post Jin and Tohma's chats, but it'll take a while because the formatting there is different from the home screen chats and I'm more tired after work or busy with certain things lately haha. HI HELLO IM SORRY THIS IS SO LATE!! i didn’t know how to answer it and then i got busy and then i forgot but i’m here now!

and tbh i still don’t entirely know how to answer it becus im not someone who makes headcannons very often. i usually just see some on my feed and be like “oh yeah that’s so them” and then immediately forget about it LMAO but i do have a couple even tho they are a bit basic and so i’ll try to describe those few in as great detail as possible

knuckles and amy are sibling 100%. they have that dynamic for sure! they train together and they tease each other. amy’s in the small demographic of few people he trusts too. many have also pointed out that they look similar and some people hc her as part echidna which im not really opposed to either

amy and shadow are definitely besties. whenever sonic is too stubborn to do “girly” things such as try on makeup for example, shadow would do that with her instead. he doesn’t care about his public image unlike sonic. music is something that brings them together too, seeing as we already know that they’re both swifties and went to hot honey! and she was the one who brought him back to his senses in the ending of SA2 (which btw im praying that the third movie has that scene aughdkftk). shadow has a clear soft spot for her that can only be brought out by amy. i feel like the next follow up question would be if i ship them and the answer is…not really?! i think it would be a situation where maybe amy is a bit touchy at times without realizing it and shadow blushes, or shadow does stuff to make sonic jealous (to clarify them hanging out in general is purely becus shadow wants to -not just an act so he can get back at sonic- but i think it would be funny if he would take the opportunity to brag about it when sonic gets on his nerves). i do not think either of them would actually date tho even with these one off situations and they are way better as platonic besties fr ong ‼️

this one is a bit random but i’ve always thought of amy being like… a starbucks addicted girly (in the world of mobius- not irl where they could possibly be funding a genocide 😭). and it’s kinda an ironic thing in my mind. yes, she’s the least ordinary girl you could get: wields a giant hammer, incredibly strong, is hyperfixated on and can use tarot cards as weapons, and has an indescribable intuition. however, calling back to the events of SA1, she really is just a normal hedgehog at the end of the day trying to lead a normal life. she had to learn all of these attributes, she wasn’t really born with an ability like the rest of team sonic. she also lived in an apartment for part of sonic x (i think?? haven’t watched the full series and i don’t remember everything) and actually liked it. so i think she would really enjoy simple more earth like customs. i think she honestly might be embarrassed of this fact too, seeing as she’s come all this way in her life just to resort to her old ways of living.

(…okay i’m gonna be honest that last one was a bit of a stretch and it originated from me and my friend calling her a basic white girl at one point as a joke LMAO but then i thought more about it and it kinda made sense once i put it into context)

the last one is a concept i kinda stole from a comic i saw a long time ago (i have no idea of the username- but if someone does lemme know). it was the idea that sonic started liking amy once she had started to move on, how the “chasing” kinda switched roles, and after she dialed down her “fangirling”. how sonic now wants her to be obsessed after she’s made so much progress in being her own person. i kinda wrote a fanfic based off of this and expanded upon my interpretation of it through amy’s POV. although i never posted it, i think the words i chose still capture it well so i’m just gonna copy and paste that:

“When Amy started to slowly change her childish and obnoxious mannerisms towards Sonic, he immediately felt more comfortable around her, and even started subtly reciprocating his feelings to her. Amy was obviously maturing no doubt about it, but she felt as if she had lost a part of herself in doing so. That side of her that would boldly protect and proclaim her love to him. That side to her that wouldn’t stop until she got her way. That side of her that was, as Jewel stated “…constantly following him”. She felt as if she had given up so much of her personality just to feel less incomplete, to have that soulmate she always dreamed about. On top of that, Sonic loved to come and go as he pleases. and if it wasn’t obvious already- i take a lot of what is said in the twitter takeovers, tailstube, and idw comics to heart becus i think they have the most genuine and interesting versions of these characters and tell us about small details that we wouldn’t otherwise know. i not only make this info my hcs but also like to expand upon them and use them in my evidence- so that’s what most of the things i said above are referencing.

Remember when I made a giant spreadsheet of Batfam comic appearances well here's a GIANT update because hyperfixation is real! (Uploaded as a whole new spreadsheet because it's. A lot of updates. This thing has become a monster. I highly recommend hiding columns you don't care about in the master list for ease of use.)

Dates are the start of the series, since that's how a lot of places besides DC itself with their weird "volume" convention distinguish different runs.

Character lists aren't split into Preboot vs. New 52 vs. Rebirth vs. IF, sorry. You can figure it out by the dates for the most part, though. (New 52 was 2011, Rebirth was 2016, IF was 2022.)

On that note, all of this was pulled from the DC Wiki, and while I did a little bit of spot-checking as I went for things I knew off the top of my head it's entirely possible things are missing or mis-attributed. I'm happy to update accordingly if there are.

okay my brainrot is actually killing me so here’re some headcanons featuring the potter siblings

james sirius potter

while his namesakes are perhaps the biggest troublemakers hogwarts has come across, james is actually a model student who does well in all of his classes and makes sure to follow the rules

becomes a gryffindor prefect

freddie and roxanne are also in his year and they’re some of his best friends, along with teddy in hufflepuff

quidditch chaser

plays quidditch all the time at home with ginny and sometimes harry

while he is popular at hogwarts both for his personality and his family, he has a lot of muggle-born/muggle friends outside of school who he just hangs out with

oldest sibling activities; constantly watching albus and lily when their parents aren’t home and does the dishes/laundry when his parents are stressed

james makes fun of albus a lot, but he knows which jokes will make albus laugh or which ones will hit a soft spot and he’s very careful about that

Don't get me wrong, Kazuha loved every aspect of you, but when you were bored, you were quite the handful. Little pranks, pokes, silly jokes... you would try everything to distract him, and that's what you wanted in that exact moment.

Calling him was an amazing option, since he was a samurai with an astounding control of all his senses, but where was the fun in that? You surely could do much better, so you got up, making as little noise as possible, and approached him with your hands shaped in claws ready to attack.

His eyes were still closed, perfect. You just needed to attack. 3... 2... 1... Now!

Or so you thought...

As soon as your fingertips came in contact with his ribcage, you felt something gripping your wrists and in a fraction of second, you were on the grass, facing the blue sky and a white-haired guy with an ominous smirk that you had learned to fear.

"Were you trying to wake me up, love?" He asked in a sweet tone mixed with a hint of playfulness, "Alas, your reflexes seem a little sluggish, like a lethargic bear cub." He tsked with no annoyance in his voice, just a little mocking.

"Maybe you're the one who needs a little awakening, aren't you, little cub?"

Before you could make up even the faintest argument to object, his hands started zapping your sides with ruthlessly, relentlessly and with the meticulous precision provided by the knowledge of every single spot that made you squeak, squeal or even snort.

"Ka- wahahahait nooo..!" You begged, but your pleas fell on deaf ears, as the tickle assault only increased in intensity. You attempted to swat his hands away, but that was futile as well. His reflexes were much faster than yours.

"Not good, your reflexes don't show any sign of awakening yet. Such a lazy little cub..." He joked, enjoying the blush that invaded your cheeks because of the nickname, "Do we really need to take extreme measures to make the lazy cub arise?"

Your eyes widened in shock and glee, and your laughter became much more nervous. "No no nohoho w-we dohohon't... we don't need to..! Please we do-" Not even Kazuha's refined lexicon had a term to define the high pitch of your scream, and the samurai knew this was his stop signal.

He raised his hands and helped you sit up while you were gasping for air, using his Anemo vision to create a gentle, refreshing breeze for you.

When you recovered, you looked at him with a gaze that meant war and pronounced the words: "I swear to the Seven Archons, I'll get you back."

Your warmongering glare was met with a smug, playful one. "Come at me then, cub, and show me your awakened reflexes" He chuckled, getting ready for a day full of combat.

the junglecorpse story primer

so i've been pretty obsessively cataloguing everything between them in my last year or so of being in AEW fandom, and since they are my Hyperfixation™️, i thought i would put together a little primer for the people who may not have been spending every waking thought thinking about the chemistry these two end up having with each other and how their story has played out. there's some videos in here that are fun watches and hopefully this adds a little bit to the knowledge bank!! (i love wrestling so much lol)

2019//

as far as we can tell, their first time ever wrestling was in 2019, which is what we like to call "the lost 2019 bar match," on february 24, 2019, at the high hat in los angeles. when we say lost, we literally mean lost. i would cut off my left arm to get a video of this damn match-up. the only video we have is a short bit from when they were hitting each other with empty water bottles, shown here. (tumblr won't let me embed these links without crashing.)

according to cagematch, darby won this match. given how many people in that crowd have phones out, i cannot BELIEVE that we haven't been able to hunt down the rest of the videos, but here we are, crying into the abyss that we can't find this. someone has it. name your price lol. i'm very open to negotiation.

2020 //

the only thing that 2020 had in it was another "lost match," this time from the jericho cruise, so we hate jericho even more for refusing to video the matches there so we can see them when we do not have $5k to go on this trip. but this one is just a 3 v 3 match, where private party and darby beat jurassic express (jack, lucha, and marko). probably not life-changing, but i still want to see it, as a completionist.

2021 //

by 2021, they had both been in aew for several years and were settling in. darby had the TNT belt, and jack was working up through both the singles division on his own, and the tag division with luchasaurus. surprisingly, they never matched up on their own! but in april of 2021, aew asked twitter to pick darby's next opponent for the TNT, and twitter chose jack. this is where things get interesting.

darby makes a promo talking to jack about the match that gets posted on darby's twitter here and reposted to aew's twitter here. (the link doesn't work to the video anymore, but don't worry, i backed it up on my yt account because i knew twitter would implode eventually.)

this is the first time, that we can find, that anyone has gone after the "if you stop being such a goodie two-shoes, you could be great" angle with jack. this promo actually pre-dates christian cage even joining AEW (he would join in the next month or two)! but this thread remains pulled alongside jack's next several years of kayfabe stories, so it's worth pointing out that darby may have been the first person to use it.

jack makes a follow-up video for this and it gets posted on aew's twitter, and as luck would have it, that tweet no longer exists. i'm not sure where it went, to be honest. it wasn't much except "i've proven myself" and "my record is great now." it's worth noting that neither of them tag the other in their promos, which makes me laugh. darby calls jack "jungle jack," which also makes me laugh.

they have their 2021 match, which is amazing, and don't worry, i also have that video link, so if you'd like to watch it, the full thing lives here. after this, darby loses the TNT belt to miro, and jack wins the battle royale after throwing christian cage out of the ring. important story beats for both of them.

2022 //

in 2022, they end up on the same side of a 6 v 6 match that i'm assuming was kind of just random match-ups, on june 1st at the kia forum. we've watched it, because of course we have, but it wasn't anything particularly interesting haha. however, in january of 2022, jurassic express wins the tag belts. they hold them until that summer, when they lose them, and christian turns on jack. lucha then also turns on jack. jack's heel turn gets majorly delayed due to christian's injury that takes him out through the whole end of the year. at the end of 2022, junglehook starts up after hook comes out to save jack from getting the shit beat out of him (this is the start of his heel turn).

2023 //

and then we get to 2023, the year that i was watching and promptly lost my mind, because we got the pillars storyline! right before this, jack beats christian in the coffin match, which finishes that particular aspect, but it butts right up to the pillars stuff. i've waxed poetic for like 4k about how jack was supposed to be a heel in the pillars story, but everything got delayed due to christian's injury, and they had to run him as a face for this because too many people were involved, and that's not really the point here, but it sure makes a lot of the decisions made in the pillars story fucking unhinged as shit lol.

i've made a video for the junglecorpse moments in the pillars storyline that is here if you have 23 minutes to experience the absurdity of what they chose to do here.

but abridged version is that jack and darby have to team up for the pillars tag match, and don't seem to get along well. they run a full thing where mjf asks jack to betray darby (so they lose) and jack gets up in his face, and then darby walks in to see it. after this, darby comes out for jack (and sammy comes out after) to save him from LFI killing him after jack beats rush.

prior to their tag match, they run this promo with the two of them, where darby references the lost 2019 bar match (DOES HE ALSO SIT AND THINK ABOUT IT FOR HOURS??? LIKE I DO???) and also mentions that they would probably be friends if they weren't wrestlers, which is worth holding onto lmao.

in the actual pillars PPV 4-way at double or nothing, they run a large segment of jack having the belt and a clear shot to take darby out with it (and win) and he doesn't end up doing it. they make a big thing out of it. this is insane given that a month later, jack turns on hook at forbidden door 2023 and eventually takes the FTW off him. i wish to speak to whoever thought this was normal. he couldn't cheat to beat darby, who he supposedly doesn't even like, for the world championship, but can betray his best friend for an unsanctioned belt a month later??????? this makes me insane. don't touch me chompie.

also worth mentioning is jack tweeting this during the storyline, with nothing else attached to it. merry early christmas to me. (jack tends to post a single photo for important story beats, with no text on it. he's done this for quite a number of things within the last few years. weird that he did that here, when they had one tag match together.)

2024 //

and that bring us to this year! jack is back in AEW after his unjust and sad-making time out. anarchy in the arena happens at double or nothing 2024, and jack and darby spend 75% of the match beating each other up alone backstage. jack hits darby with the bus, darby sets jack on fire. it's lovely.

if you haven't seen the video that leaked of jack preparing for the fire spot in the early part of 2024 with a stunt team, it's worth watching. (no sound)

darby is out again to recover since i don't know how he managed to get clear for AITA in the first place, and then he comes back with an obsessive single-mindedness to call out jack perry by beating up brandon cutler. jack then also beats up brandon cutler in the strangest mating rituals i've ever fucking seen lmao. INTRICATE RITUALS!!

• Dazai would be best for you! That mix of crazy but relatable seems to be something you enjoy, and what no better the the freakster himself. He’s not to mean to not care though, so that’s why I gave you him!

• Dazai is very carefree, and will either mess around with you to make you forget about your troubles, or take care of things himself (usually without you knowing). He somewhat take you under his wing in a way.

• He’s also the type to tell it like it is, sharing a bit of positivity here and there. It goes nice with your realism.

•He’s also very passionate and often hyperfixates on things! Like suicide for example. He wants to do a double suicide with you lmao.

• Dazai is a curious cat, and often likes to hear the gossip. He serves absolute cunt for that. The two of you love to share tea and learn tea from others too! Honestly, it’s probably the thing that got you two connected to each other at first, if Dazai didn’t already try to flirt with you.

• Instead of really going blank like you do, Dazai’s mind is constantly running and he’ll happily bring you back down to Earth if you need it. Simple daydreams he’ll let slide if you guys aren’t on any missions or something important.

• Most of his jokes are really funny, and theirs just other times he’s funny without even realizing it. He thinks you’re too adorable to not get a chuckle out of, and sometimes he’ll break down laughing if you say something out of left field. It’s hilarious!

• Dazai used to be a really strict guy, but nowadays he’s more chilled out. You wouldn’t need to go through that strict nonsense again. If you ever bring it up with Dazai, he’ll try even harder to be more of a good person. It just reminds him that where he is now is best.

• He loves showering people in compliments, and you’re no different! He compliments anytime he gets! Though brings it back during more intimate moments.

• While he may not be able to wrap his head around your anxiety of other people too much, he just validates it as a huge difference you two have, and gladly confides in you when you need someone to speak for you.

• He can be a little tone deaf sometimes, and if you ever talk about feeling down he’ll probably mention the double suicide thing again. PLEASE dont EVER listen to him,

• In actuality, I’d say to try a hand at the bright side! You have a loving boyfriend and a loving community within the Armed Detective Agency. They’re basically your guard dogs by the way, if you aren’t already a part of their group.

• Fuck other people who don’t want to hear you yap about shit! Dazai LOVES hearing you talk about your passions! Very rarely does he stop you, and he likes to ask follow up questions just to fuel the obsession! He’s a great person to talk to when you start to hyperfixate on something.

• Dazai mostly leaves you alone if you ask, but he’s also kinda clingy. Just don’t be away for too long, or he’ll get more and more needy.

• Dazai is a strong believer that it doesn’t matter what you wear! He’s the kind of guy that thinks you look good in everything, and will always find something about your outfit that he loves the most.

• He’s definitely a pretty boy, and well..he came from the mafia, so he definitely still has an edge to him. Some of his tendencies can even linger from time to time. I’d say he’s your type!

• He loves going out and about when he can, especially for walks! It would be the perfect date for the two of you to walk around and enjoy yourselves, most likely talking about something for hours on end to the point where Kunikida would call you guys and ask where the hell you were.

Dazai can be very patient, and I’d say he’s the perfect boyfriend for you that is willing to be your shoulder to cry on, as well as an anchor. Just don’t mind him being a little screwed up in the head. <3

your My Hero Academia matchup is… EIJIRO KIRISHIMA !!

• Kirishima would be best for you! Kaminari is a close second, though I figured he may be too silly for your liking.

• Now, I figure you’d be looking forward to having a villain for your match, however, you also said you wanted someone who you could relate and confide in. Almost all of the villains (except for maybe Toga) would not give a shit or understand why you need that shoulder to lean on. If any of them do care it’s most likely for a manipulative reason. I would’ve probably picked Toga if it weren’t for your preference. Hopefully that makes sense!

• You may bump heads with Kirishima from time to time, especially during times where Kirishima is way too nice. Not every relationship is perfect though, and from this he can possibly teach you to liven up sometimes, as much as you teach him to be more grounded.

• He’s a chill and lax guy, and will definitely help you calm down in any situation you need a hand on. He’s honestly the best at pep talk and lending a reassuring hand. As such, he’ll never get to exhausted will how many times you fall back down to the ground. He’ll always be there to get you back up again!

• Kirishima is also really passionate about the things he loves! He adores to hear you talk about thing, similar to Dazai. He’d be especially appreciative if you let him yap about his aspirations too!

• His humor is a lot like yours, and basically what the whole Baku Squad finds funny! Aside from Bakugou himself of course, cause just a dick. I can definitely see you being a part of their friend group though!

• Kirishima hate being super strict, but understands restrictions on some things for everyone’s safety. As long as you aren’t doing anything that will cause you or others harm, he doesn’t mention anything. What’s the bother anyway?

• Kirishima has tough skin, literally, and will become your shield metaphorically and literally. He hates seeing you cry, I breaks his heart so bad. He’d take over the world to make you happy!

• A part of me feels like Kirishima might have his own lingering depression by just how much he tries to fit himself in. Please just have his back as much as he has yours.

• In his eyes, there’s no such thing as daydreaming to much..unless you’re in literal danger but i doubt that would be the case. Daydreaming is a healthy coping mechanism. Sure it can distract from important things, but there’s worse things you could be doing. Especially during those times where you want to be occupied in your own world, Kirishima will give you space.

• The fact you get angry easily? Well, it’s not the first time he’s dealt with someone like that, heh. I’m sure you’re a lot more tame than you-know-who.

• Kirishima is a GREAT listener. I swear he picks up on everything and remembers a lot. He definitely keeps track of your needs and wants. Gifts, if you’re into that, are very thoughtful as well.

• He loves giving out hugs! Sometimes they might be very random, but hey, if you like hugs that much it shouldn’t be a problem. For him your softer body makes it even better!

• Much like Dazai, Kirishima loves to be out and about doing stuff, whatever gets the blood going! Unlike Dazai though, he only goes out when he has the free time. If he has work to do, he’ll most likely postpone his time with you. It’s worth the wait though, because you guys end up having a wonderful time together!

• Even though he might’ve not been what you expected, I do think Kirishima is a wonderful match for you!
