One for @steddieunderdogfics that every week promotes new fics and new authors. I know that's not exactly an event but they need our help and support to find new fics for their challanges so keep an eye on their page.

A big shout out for @harringrove-cafe that every weekend delivers incredible drinks and sweets! All you have to do is fill their form (it can be anonymous) and send a treat to the blog that you want!

And another one for Sapphic Delights that's very similar to the Harringrove Café and that's on Twitter!

BUT INSTEAD.

I have loved doing weekly fic recs for everyone and will continue to do it every Thursday, but for the last Thursday of 2023, I wanna take this time to give everyone the opportunity to reblog this post with YOUR fic recs!

If you'd prefer to give love to a fic in another way, follow @steddieunderdogfics and send them in! There are so many fun challenges coming up with that blog and the mod is working sooooo hard to make sure we have plenty of content every single day.

As a reminder, writers and artists in fandom are doing things they want to do for free. While it is fun, sometimes people really suck. Show them love and appreciation as often as you can, especially when you really enjoyed something they put time into creating! Like, reblog, kudos, comment, send them a nice message! I promise it will make their day to hear from you 💖

Also a note about being kind to mods running blogs, especially those with writing or art challenges. It takes a lot to run a blog, especially when doing it by yourself, and it's done to add something fun to the fandom. The more time mods spend dealing with rude comments and messages, the less time they spend providing fun, and at a certain point, it becomes not fun at all and then everyone loses out on something that was meant to be exciting. If you don't like the rules, don't participate. It's that simple.

“What do you mean, this isn’t working?” Mike can hear the shake in his own voice, mirroring the wobble in Will’s. Will looks so sad, eyes wide and damp and Mike reaches out to him, wants to tuck Will’s face into the crook of his neck the way he does sometimes when he holds him, wants to get his arms around him and keep him safe. Will shuffles back against the arm of Steve and Eddie’s couch, moves his hands out from under Mike’s. He always leans into Mike’s touch. Mike doesn’t understand. “I mean I, I.” Will’s voice is thick, like he’s trying very hard not to cry. Ten minutes ago Mike was handing him a plate of toast, and now he looks lost and sad and desperate. He swallows and tries again. “I love you, you know?” Mike nods. Of course he knows. The sky is blue. His green dice are cursed. Will loves him.

So the @steddieunderdogfics theme on Monday is fics featuring Will, and I was going to suggest the fic above (my first Stranger Things fic) before coming to the conclusion that it doesn't actually contain sufficient Steddie. But I really like it, and it's two years old this month (what is time) so i wrote it before I had my tumblr.

It's accurately tagged as a post-break up fic, but even so, I hope you'll give it a chance!

Hello everyone!!

We as the mod team have LOVED running this space but it really does rely on fans sending in recs! We can supply some but there’s no way that we can do the level we need by ourselves.

The last few challenge Mondays and theme weekends have been a struggle to put out. We’re only receiving one or two asks for each request, and maybe one or two on the days of when we’ve already filled all the slots.

We also just don’t have recs coming in anymore! They trickle in, but we’ve had to cut back on our posting to keep things going longer.

For now, we’re going to keep trying to get the challenges and themes out, to keep running the space as it is now, but it may come down to discontinuing these challenges!
