alright. know what? with Secrets of the Obscure right around the corner and plenty of new Mists-related sky island settings coming with it, I'll just bite the bullet and interest-check a little something I've been turning in my head for a long, long while.

would YOU be interested in a Mists-based GW2 roleplay guild that uses a lore compliant multiverse system to allow canon, canon-adjacent, lore-breaking, and otherwise 'contradictory' muses to coexist in the same setting?

simply put: every writer's cast would be set in their own self-contained universe. as such, everyone could bring whatever muses they want with their own personal headcanons, and no one could dictate what is or isn't canon for anyone else. so long as your muses are GW2-based, you're good to go! bring your Commanders, bring your canon-divergent OCs, bring your canon muses-- and yes, even the ones that are 'supposed' to be dead. who can say what might have happened in a strange world far across the Mists, after all?

neutral hubs and in-character safety guardrails would be in place to keep all muses on a relatively even playing field regardless of their power, history, and prestige, too. play hardball if you like, but it might not end quite the way you'd hope. the main rule would be to maintain good OOC etiquette at all times: no godmodding, no metagaming, no theft, don't blend IC and OOC, and so-on.

Hello to all fellow Stricklake fans!! Once again it's time to get excited for Stricklake month this August! This year I will be hosting the upcoming month long event, and I hope by releasing the prompts a month in advance like last year, it gives all of you who are interested in participating this year time to prepare!

Last year I made a (very random) post about QL actors celebrating Bangkok Pride so this year I decided camp the socials again to find familiar faces because it was a lot of fun to do and it made me incredibly happy. 🌈

There's a lot of different parades and events today with more to come in the following weeks. Some actors might have to work today or won't post pictures until later. They might be attending in a different city or voice their support in other ways. Please remember that celebrating Pride is fun and not an obligation.

Reading current events posts on my feed regarding things I am largely powerless about and thinking about how I don't tend to share political stuff as much on tumblr as I do on Facebook (where I think it may make more of a difference by annoying some of my relatives - which, let's face it, is the purpose of Facebook)... I think to myself why I "don't reblog this or that bad thing happening in the world enough" or my opinions in it, and it's like... "It's because I know that I'll feel like this guy, up there. People will come into my feed and I will be the guy." Not literally of course. Internet disk horse is hardly lead with full metal jacket. I did seriously have a dream not too long ago wherein I was in the middle of a war and trying to negotiate between some trigger-happy soldiers and a group of civilians they were aiming at. (There were remains of some people they'd shot to Hell already - it was a vivid, graphic dream). I was not The Guy, but I was spouting his rhetoric (because, let's face it, Vash the Stampede has lived in my soul since I discovered him in 2001). A solider was about to kill me until someone recognised me either as an American or as a member of the Blue States of America (I can't remember which - I don't know if I was dreaming about a new American Civil War or a foreign war, and I think it was the latter). They took me in to the friendly, American-side and I kind of didn't want to go, because, seriously, why should I live when other people are dying? Something like that.

Honestly the Murder Drones lore is super confusing. I think what this is trying to say is that every other Zombie Drone is doing poorly, (Except for Yeva), they are trying to reactivate 002 (Nori) via the USB. I'm not sure what this means. Maybe they only got the results they wanted from the two of them, and are trying again with Nori since she was the only other one that worked (also why they got Yeva when she failed; this may all be referring to how the episode opened up) Also, the date says SER. As revealed in the episode Cabin Fever, Copper-9 has months that Earth does not. SER most likely stands for Seramorris, the month revealed in that episode

I know most people (I think) see this as a joke and N just being a bit of goofball. But honestly, I think he did it intentionally to shock Cynuzi and give Nori a chance. In the Pilot, he licked V's sword to surprise her too, which means he isn't unfamiliar with doing something weird and surprising for the advantage

Skyn eating Doll's core. R.I.P. Doll again. Seriously, was that Doll in Core Form like Nori was? Or was Nori a fringe case because she was "Exorcised" and this is just a regular core? Questions, questions. Also yeah the Solver also gives you a Core. Fun

This tag makes me think that this body is Cyn's actual body. Not longer a hologram, but her actual body from the mansion. The reason Tessa gave N, J, and V their names was because that was the first letter of their Serial Designation (she's very uncreative). However, Cyn's tag was slightly faded, which meant her SD couldn't be seen, so Tessa gave her the name "Cyn" after her P/N, even though the other 3 already have the same P/N as Cyn (Tessa, again, is very uncreative)...

...and for some reason, Cyn or the Solver, which ever theory you subscribe to, decided to wear Tessa as a skin suit for some twisted reason. It did help her with the Captcha. Also scary because this doesn't have the right proportions for an adult (unless Cyn really forced that skin on), which leads me to believe that this is a Younger Tessa, and she faked having an older voice. Maybe I shouldn't call her my wife... I'm sure Eldritch J is still available :^)

(Seriously, the eyes are burnt out, leaving two eye holes over the visor, so she gives herself two X eyes so it looks better. Also yeah we found out what that thing on the "It Came From Copper-9" poster came from. It really was Cyn or Skyn)

I love this fic, it makes me ACHE for baby Gideon, and I love its exploration of Gideon's dynamics with the other characters on the Ninth as she was growing up :') this is the second fic I bound for @renegadeguild's Fanfic Writers Appreciation Day event!

I was SO excited to try a cutout cover for this, and think the endpapers I picked were perfect for it. The Pleather "bookcloth" I used was a bit thick, and that in combination with the shape of the cut out made for some very goofy progress pics. I ended up gluing scrap paper to the tiny flaps, because they were SO at parts.

Also, there were definitely several places that were like... exposed chipboard/paper, so I used a marker to color it in to hide those issues and it worked great

I initially formatted the cover incorrectly and my printer was out of commission at the time so I couldn't re-print it, so I just cut it up to frankenstien it into what I needed! I'm REALLY happy with how the sword cutout ended up lining up with the skull -- you can see in the above photos that they aren't identical, and this is because I did not think about this at all when cutting and gluing the endpaper in. OOPS!! anyway HOORAY luck was looking out for me bc it ended up looking great anyway!

The color of the cover was honestly hard to photograph but I love how it turned out and how it looked IRL. YAYY

As expected, promo for the overall stodgy TCND just started in NYC, including with this released and then quickly deleted Instagram pic, shared by the Sassenach Spirits' account:

Not the cleverest marketing & sales move, if you ask me. Knowing this fandom's usual bigot and/or scoffing triggers (which I tend to think S & team do, and rather very well), why even entertain lurid speculation and, by the same token, an unnecessarily juvenile image of The Co-founder? Oh, how I wish they'd step up their game a bit and perhaps be more coherent with that fresh, witty sales approach that first caught my eye!

Why. A rhetorical question that never grows old, as far as SC are concerned. Take for example the latest interview released yesterday by the Fangirlish.com website, which is barely a blurb in the great Instagram tapestry. 6k followers do not a great media outlet make, I believe and they've been around since 2011 (!).

Perhaps on design or perhaps because both of them DGAF anymore, we were treated to these parallel public statements on a rarely brought about and carefully censored calibrated topic: personal lives.

While C ambiguously mentions what Claire's character brought to who she is now, she is probably throwing to the scrapheap that constipated but convenient braggadocio that she was 'totally able to separate between Claire and herself'. Something we kept on reading ad nauseam from EFH to the Remarkable Week-end and beyond. She now readily acknowledges she has led 'this project alongside S', all the while - which is even more telling - 'assuming everything that implies'. For some reason, I doubt she simply meant the rather decorous EP functions, but also the entire emotional burden of it all, to which this damned fandom is not exactly a stranger. As we have long surmised, they are in this thing together and they did it together (been together, loved together, lived together, lied together...) all along this tortuous path. Cue in the usual venom that they can't stand each other anymore, I don't really care, at this point in time.

S dutifully obliges as C's sounding board and takes it the needed (but completely unnecessary, Narrative-wise) extra mile: JAMMF has given him 'an incredible relationship, one I never thought I’d have'.

Surely he does not mean Flukenzie Floozy or the entire Fitness Harem panoply, Ha-wa-wee 🐰and Dubai Burlesque included. And she could have rectified on the spot or poked fun at him or anything in between. Yet, she did not: surely Tracula is again the 'very understanding' character of that plot!

Why even bring it up all of this now? Why even mention personal stuff both of them have a rather appalling PR management of, from unnecessary exposure to gaslighting an entire fandom and probably also the kitchen sink?

For the sake of an ending series?

Oh, come on - give me a break, here. We are neither delulu, nor stupid.

He then proceeded to go private again, but the pic was downloaded and shared by that very well informed vigilante account, which then chose to tag Sassenach Spirits (why?).

Kinda random, but it's so wild to me whenever I still see people hating on the Hetalia fandom literal years after the fandom's heyday.

And I just...? Bro, I know the fandom could get nuts back in the day, believe me, I was there. I was in the trenches. It was fun, but there was definitely some crazy here and there.

But as for the Hetalia fandom today?

This is one of the most chill and accepting fandoms I've ever been a part of. I feel like we're all just sitting around, chilling, talking, and reminiscing about this series and characters that have lived rent-free in our heads for years.

I made a post a little while ago talking about how the Hetalia fans of today are just a bunch of adults sitting around a fire and drinking. I initially made it as a joke, pretending that we're a bunch of tried war veterans.

But you know what? If I had the money, I'd bring every single Hetalian on this website to my small town and we'd have a giant freakin' bonfire. We'd get together wearing our cosplays and/or merch and come armed with our favorite drinks and snacks.

We'd open the event by toasting with our boots high in the air. We can all hang out around the fire during the day, blasting the character songs from the biggest loudspeaker we can find and dance around like Italy. We can sit around and chat about our favorite characters, ships, episodes, etc.

I'd talk to the drive-in movie theater here in town to see if I can get them to do a screening of the Hetalia: Paint it White! movie later that night.

And then we'd all set up tents in one of the many surrounding fields in the area and have the world's biggest and most absurd slumber party imaginable.

And at the end of it all? We'd do a giant group picture together. All of us.

(Not to mention that we'd have to upload all of our pictures to a shared folder because holy crap I feel like the pics from a get-together like this would be wild).

SEPFEMBER 2024 PROMPTS LIST

HERE WE ARE! AT LONG LAST! THE MOMENT YOU'VE ALL BEEN (HOPEFULLY) WAITING FOR! GIRL MONTH!

I honestly can't believe this is actually happening. This event was a shower thought a few months ago.

Here's a recap of the event: to participate, make at least one fanwork of any variety during September that features a woman or women from the Zelda franchise as the main character/s. All Linksmeets are welcome in this challenge, as well as general LoZ fans!

Before I drop the prompts list for those who are looking for a little direction, I'd like to mention that I have made an AO3 COLLECTION FOR THIS EVENT. It's open and unmoderated so you can add your works to it freely. And if you post on tumblr, please tag #sepfember !! all the people up in arms going 'he looks so miserable!' and 'he doesn't look loved up at all!' like. . .hm, could it be possible that it's because. . .attending fashion events. . .is a job? what's with the 'give us a smile, sweetheart!' weirdness from these 'fans'? didn't we decide ages ago we HATE that? if I was at work and people were ripping me to pieces because I'm not smiling, I'd be pissed off. the man has been given grief from a fandom that undoubtedly DOES make him miserable for months on months and shows up to an event with a girlfriend y'all have known about for a YEAR and hated on for almost exactly that amount of time and you're surprised he's. . .what? not grinning ear to ear? the man takes a lot of photos where he's doing a blue steel fashion face, what's the hangup? y'all are just digging for justification for your own negativity.

and as far as Antonia goes, it's like every time it's a surprise. the people saying 'oh it's lame he only showed up with her after NICOLA paved the way!' . . .paved the way of what? Luke was photographed with Antonia in June of last year? Why are y'all always shocked pikachu face about her? Nic reiterating they're friends (as they both said during the tour repeatedly) in a pre-taped interview doesn't mean he then was like 'oh, okay! now i can be with my gf!' he's BEEN with her. he was papped with her a year ago, he's taken her on vacations, dates, and other events. what do y'all MEAN this is the 'hard launch'? we've all known?

stop convincing yourselves into delusions and just face the facts. the reality is- I DO think it's okay to say 'I'm a fan of Nic and Luke's dynamic and their public personas so I ship them' but that also means taking the responsibility of 'endgame' or 'canon' (gross, these are real people, not characters) off their shoulders and out of your expectations. they have partners. ship their personas all you want, live in the fantasy, sometimes it's fun, but stop spiraling and spinning new webs of lies to live in claiming it's reality. and then blaming these strangers for not living up to your mental gymnastic fanfictions. it's unhealthy.

do I think he looks miserable? no. In some pics, I think he looks like someone protective of his partner who has been harassed, and wary, since his previous partner has ALSO been harassed. But overall I think he looks hot as hell. nothing is screaming that he's upset. he's got some smirky smirk pics and moments, she's pictured smiling in the video. what's the big deal? if you feel dumb, it's because YOU made yourself fall for lies.

and a big genuine SHAME ON YOU to all the big Lukola blogs who continue spouting garbage encouraging vulnerable people to believe false narrative. fuck you to the tarot blogs, fuck you to the people doing 'morsels' or 'crumbs' analysis, and a huge hearty fuck you to the people pushing the awful lie of Nicola being pregnant by hyperanalyzing her body. y'all need to eat some crow and admit you were wrong and apologize to your audiences, because fuck that noise.
