The International Criminal Court warrant against Benjamin Netanyahu is a major development towards real consequences for Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people, but it's still too early to say what will result from it. While the United States tries to obstruct international law, we can't lose sight of the most important thing in this conflict: The ongoing need to help the people who are still trapped in Gaza.

The situation on the ground right now is dire. The "alleged" war crimes are very much real, and very much affecting real people who have been deprived of shelter and basic necessities throughout the horrors of this genocide.

Ahed Alanqar is one of those people, having to provide for his three daughters in the midst of war crimes. To be clear, that is absolutely heroic. Surviving in these conditions by itself is hard enough, managing to scrape by enough to take care of three kids, ages 1, 6 and 9? That's already difficult without the war crimes!

Everything in Gaza is expensive and hard to find. Everything. There is no source of income, and Ahed and his family are reliant on donations to survive. This is something we can help with. This kind of direct support is how we can materially help, make an actual difference, and resist the war crimes while governments drag their feet.

We didn't mean to leave them behind .. we feel guilty every single day that we're safe while they're not ! We tried everything but couldn't collect the funds, my mother is a single mother and we are barely managing to cover our expenses and sending them as much as we can to help them survive in Gaza . Until a friend I met here in Cairo, told me that hopefully you will help us ! 🙏🙏🙏 Help Me Rescue my Family of 4 from Gaza : • MY 83 years old DISABLED GRANDMOTHER (ستي فوزية) right before this war she suffered from a broken pelvis and a broken left hand, and she cannot walk or even go to the bathroom. So a ceasefire agreement is happening between Lebanon and Isreal. Israel will “gradually withdraw” its forces from southern Lebanon over the next 60 days. Read more here

A notable admission from this ceasefire is Gaza so we need to continue to support the Palestinian people. They're still under bombing and being starved. It's winter now so it's cold and raining all the time and the tents are not enough shelter to keep them warm. Aid still cannot enter Gaza so the prices of groceries have skyrocketed. Clean water is extreamly hard to come by. There are no hospitals left and doctors have been targeted and killed so diseases run rampant. The isreali army still holds many Palestinian prisoners that are tortured and raped in camps. So many people in Gaza and Lebanon have died and can NEVER come back. So many families have suffered such great loses.

We cannot just forgive isreal and move on because it's not over yet.

Huda is becoming a mother soon and prices for things like baby clothes, diapers, milk, and cradles have skyrocketed like food. Becoming a mother and starting a family is a beautiful thing, but it's also a struggle even for people who are able to afford basic necessities.
