I've reblogged and shared a lot of other people's words about the cancellation, but I have yet to bring up my own.
I'm not usually a "light in the darkness" kind of person at first; the counterbalance is there for a reason, and if we're hurting then we're going to take our time about it, dammit. but the way this fandom has rallied has been amazing to be a part of.
we're trending on tumblr. we've got a petition with 10K signatures overnight. we've got people spamming every major streaming service and the netflix request form. we've got a donation pool going to rent a billboard in LA. we've got news outlets noticing our outrage. we've even got fans proposing that we do this ourselves.
and in the meantime, the creators are stepping up—we're making art, tiktoks, memes, fanfics, and edits to celebrate the grishaverse, to uplift the fandom and say that no one can take this from us.
if you can't beat the odds, change the game. our passion is beautiful. we never stop fighting.

Thinking about how cool it would’ve been if the Soc spinoff used Wylan’s knowledge of Fjerdan to expand on his friendship with Matthias, like when Matthias didn’t know the Kerch word for snow goggles in the book and he didn’t want to ask Nina he just pointed to them and said “keep your eyes covered” instead, but we could have had him turn to Wylan and say:
“Lamb. How do you say snow goggles in Kerch?”
And then Wylan would say “snow goggles” in Kerch (/English for audience purposes) and then Matthias would tell everyone to put their snow goggles on and we would see both Nina and Jesper seething right up until their eyes were covered - especially because Nina would understand what Matthias had just said.

I'm genuinely so upset about the SaB cancellation... Despite everything I still had hope but Netflix obviously had to crash it and cancel the show like they do with every good story on their platform.
And why couldn't they just have announced it months ago instead of clowning us like this???
What is media becoming when writers don't even know how to write their seasons because they don't know if their show is getting renewed or not... cancellation feels like a constant threat and fandoms can't even get excited about a piece of media in case they cancel it.
No mournings no funerals but I'm mourning for sure

Six of Crows Spinoff
Okay, so now that there's talk of a spinoff, I feel like I need to add that unless the writers focus on a few little details, it's gonna fail. So, if we do get a spinoff, here's what I hope will be in it:
- Pekka gets an early release from Hellgate. This way, he can still be an antagonist for the Ice Court heist
- Eventually, for Crooked Kingdom, Kaz and Pekka will still need to have a revenge moment which could probably be done by humiliating him in another way (since firepox has already been used)
-Inej has already left Ketterdam, but maybe she returns quickly for some reason, which leaves her job incomplete? By doing this, we can still get Crooked Kingdom ending along with the Kanej mutual pining and slow burn
-Since the ICONIC "how will you have me" scene has already been used, maybe they can still recycle it? Inej could ask Kaz if he has decided to work on his trauma for her or not.
Honestly, I feel as though the spin off could be absolutely smashing if the writers just work carefully around the already used plots and stay fucking truthful to the unused ones in the books.
We all are sort of disappointed with season 2 of shadow and bone, but let's be honest, we don't fully hate it. There are some people who do, however, and they are being very vocal about it. SO, if we do want a spin off, just keep it on the Netflix top 10s, keep rewatching it and keep talking about it. PLEASE.

That stupid fucking After franchise that no one cares about got all their movie adaptations (5 out of 5 total) but shadow and bone was cancelled after 2 seasons, had to shove S&S and R&R into one season and our promised soc spinoff with the perfect cast nuked.... for what?????????
