Watching the fallout zone discuss addicts is horrific btw. Like regardless if you like the lore changes, please consider your stances on ghouls requiring a substance— that is clearly not free and dangerous to aquire— to maintain their autonomy.

The zombification of ghouls is a whole other subject but when you talk about ferals vs ghouls, remember that ghouls as a whole are on par with the disabled and the ill. They're not the same ilk as deathclaws or other monsters in the series; they are people who have been ghoulified. People. Ring that in red a few times.

And on that note, when you use terms like 'junkie' and 'addict' with a derogatory edge, remember that addiction is not a moral indicator. It could happen to you too.

It’s not a huge deal because it wasn’t like I was this big drinker, I just didn’t like how it made me feel especially the last time I drank, but today is 1 year with no alcohol and that feels pretty good!!

When people say that they don’t want to be around addicts, they don’t mean recovered /ex- addicts - they mean active addicts or “dry drunks” who haven’t changed their behavior and are still selfish and manipulative and playing the victim. Active addicts hurt everyone around them. If you’re a recovered alcoholic people aren’t talking about you.

I never said that anyone has to be friends with an addict, and it is never morally wrong to cut off someone who is being shitty to you. people can have their boundaries and that's fine. but when you say that you don't want to be around addicts, you are making a fuckton of assumptions about what an addict is. and you know what? I don't want to be friends with someone like that. I don't want to be excluded from the category of "addict" so that people like you can still feel okay about demonising addiction. they're talking about me because I am an addict and always will be, and I stand in solidarity with my fellow addicts. peace and love

giving up drinking is hard bc at uni almost all of my social life is going to the pub or going out. i caved last night and had some drinks at the pub but im going to try and not have any for the rest of the month. idk i wish it was like school when hanging out meant loitering in a park for 5 hours and then going to someones house and having their mother make dinner for u all and playing viddy games until u get kicked out

... it's just hit me that lister describes the bathroom kiss as assault and even when jimmy reassures him that he doesn't see it that way and doesn't have a problem with it, lister refuses to accept that it was anything other than objectively assault

while two days earlier jimmy insisted that a 32-yr-old having sex with lister at age 16 was wrong, despite lister not seeing it that way and not having a problem with it

does that mean that lister took that conversation on board but only as far as "the person on the receiving end of an advance can't accurately assess whether or not it was wrong" and is now equating himself to the woman that took advantage of him . because i will weep
