Simon derangement page number um I lost count!!! Time to explain things and transcribe my handwriting lol >:3

I put a photo of the whole page here because some things were hard to single out into separate images :)

A pose study! I was trying to work on foreshortening with that arm position. Just imagine that he’s talking to someone off screen and sweating cause he’s been working out or something d(^^ )

Two of these are based on some reaction image doodles I ran into on Pinterest that I’m pretty certain originated on tumblr lol. The bottom left one says “*realization*” and the top right one says “deranged —>” with the arrow pointing to our Mr. Deranged in question, Simon. The Simon and Richter one is kinda poking fun at the general Smash Bros fandom depiction of them and is also based on a doodle I saw on Pinterest.

Bottom left says “he has 97 mental illnesses and is banned from most public spaces” lol. Dw! He is your friend! I just forgot to write that part :). I hope the tbh creature doodle is appreciated, I’ve drawn him like that more times than I’d like to admit—

This one is based on a photo of this guy (gotta be a Snapchat one idk I’ve never had Snapchat) with a monster energy and caption “KILL”. I think it fits the vibe.

Bottom left says “monsert!”, a silly bastardizarion of “monster”, again the energy drink. I feel like Simon would be the kind of guy to have caffeine at like 6PM and then wonder why he can’t sleep later lmao. Or worse have caffeine to avoid sleeping 💀. The other two doodles I drew because I woke up one morning and immediately imagined Simon with raccoon stripe hair for no reason.

This one is based on a tumblr post, it says “(Simon) the psychiatrist diagnosed me with divine madness” “(Christopher) any other diagnosises you’d like to share?” “(Simon) Autism”. That ending panel of Simon saying autism ended up a sticker in a discord server I’m in lmaooooo. Also I need to have more Simon and Christopher interactions cause I think they’d be friends aaaaa

The top doodle is based on a Simon MMD model I found of him as a Vocaloid and I thought that was hilarious and banger, we need more people making fun crossover stuff like that in the world lol. The bottom one is just him vibin(?). Idk he seems pretty distressed, but that’s his usual state so uh—

Another little pose doodle. I think his preferred sitting position is like criss cross applesauce on the floor. I don’t think he’d sit normally in chairs at all. I am now picturing him leaning a chair back too far help 💀.

This one is based on this meme that’s kinda poking fun at the art styles commonly found in yaoi with the last one being left blank for putting whatever you like there and implying in a comedic way that it’s ‘straight man yaoi’, I’ve seen ones with things like football players or idk Breaking Bad put there lol. Basically I saw the meme and realized that all the different styles kinda lined up too well with some Simon designs and well yeah this happened 💀💀💀. So we got Ayami Kojima’s design as “straight woman yaoi”, the NES cover art/X68000 as “gay man yaoi”, Simon’s Quest as “lesbian yaoi”, and Captain N thrown into “straight man yaoi” lmaooo.

YESS NAGI AIKU AU wait you mentioned it again in a diff paragraph but i’m going to talk about it here for continuity’s sake and whatnot anyways um so remember how i was like “i’m going to keep this short so it doesn’t end up being 30k words and i can expand on it later” well…i did my best to keep it short and cut some of the things i was planning on including. and ykw?? IT’S STILL ALMOST 22K WORDS 😭😭😭😭😭😭 i had sooo much fun writing it!! i’m really excited for you and the five other people interested in it to read FSJJS trying to do nagi’s pov was def really tough but eh i came up with smth 🤔 now is ANYBODY in character?? probably not. did i have to absolutely glaze shidou and aiku at various points in the story?? 100%. BUT it was really cool to write from a canon character’s pov and in such a canon-adjacent au so i’m still proud of what i ended up coming up with (if that makes sense) anyways like i said i’m going out for a dinner so it’ll probably be a couple of hours before i post it but once i do i can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it :3

love triangles are sooo common in ya novels and also in manhwas and they’re annoying every time because you really have to do them well so it’s def a challenge 😭 but i will figure it out trust and yes worst comes to worse there’s always tik tok audios to inspire me…no but literally karasu and kunigami is super niche i feel like indie having them as a duo 😭 not to mention yukimiya and hiori people are going to think i just have an obsession with rare pairs (which tbf i do like them more than normal pairs but that’s a separate thing)

yeah i’ve always thought additional times and like adjacent things to that in other animes are meant to poke fun at characters by overly exaggerating them?? not give additional characterization to them if that makes sense LMAOAOA oh well the humor will remain as such for us two at least 😭🙏🏻

yup just because of aot being sm older and more popular there is SO much stuff for it KFJDDJN i always say there are a lot of crazy fans but the fans that lock in truly LOCK IN because some of those fanarts and edits deserve to be in museums i’ve literally never been in a fandom that does fan work the way the aot fandom does

people don’t put their SOULS into editing nagi i think part of it is that he has the largest quantity of hype animated scenes (followed by rin) so it’s really easy to throw a bunch of clips together whereas less popular characters require more effort to edit…and then rin is just so many people’s favs that there’s always someone around to put out smth astounding for him

no yeah i get you exactly like the way he does everything and tries his hardest but he always ends up one step short?? it’s kind of like reverse karasu if you think abt it where karasu kinda thinks he’s mid but he’s usually able to pull through in the end whereas yuki believes and tries so much but he can’t quite get it 🤔 NOT THE ONE SIDED BEEF BECOMING TWO SIDED okay wait actually speaking of rough and tumble yukimiya he definitely wouldn’t get along with karasu i think he would find him kinda pretentious or smth idk i see him being a) comfortable?? ish?? with shidou in the sense that shidou probably reminds him of the people he grew up alongside so he’s very familiar which in turn is kind of a source of comfort and b) getting along with like kiyora who’s also very blunt and honest (another potential bastard munchen team up??)

the only reason i think it won’t be shidou is because i think his backstory is going to be something that they will make a main event in the manga?? so they’ll wait to release his ln until after that happens…i could see a sae + shidou + aiku ln release in the future once we know more about sae and shidou from the manga

Also for Lae'zel's accent : yes, she would have such a harsh accent! As a foreign speaker, the pronunciation isn't always intuitive and is sometimes paradoxal. She probably never used some sounds, and it's hard to guess a lot of them. It's so inconsistent. I lack air in the middle of my sentences because of the tonal accentuations differences. Languages are crazy man. Lae'zel would have a stroke, struggling to say "library" with Gale correcting her.

I also wanted to share with you my recent victory : I passed my exams with unexpectedly high grades! It's been 10 years since I succeeded in anything school related, I feel strangely proud and hopeful. I attribute this partly to the intense hyperfixation for BG3. I've been trying really hard lately to figure out how to draw her recently bc despite the art disparity her and lae’zel are neck in neck at being my fav characters. 7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them? Hate is a big word and it really doesn't make me happy to complain about Chibnall Who three times a day, but unfortunately the answer is Thirteen. Of course, it all kicked off with people being extermely fragile and pearl clutchy about how the Doctor being a woman will somehow change the very core of the character, but those takes were simply a block and filter flag for me, so it is easy to ignore them. But then the canon turned out to be what it was and, extremely controversial opinion, "just poorly written" isn't an excuse for a character only best possible reason to criticise them. Still, if we are just in the canon my attitude towards Thirteen is warm rather than cold! I'm absolutely not in any "not mah doctor" club, she's likeable and has some amazing moments (much as I hate TTC, her confrontation with Tecteun is genuinely good). But making her out to be the bestest regeneration evah, and her relationship with Yaz the hottest romance in the show's history, and you just have to abandon all of the (insert long adjective from critical theory of the day) ways of assessing fiction to appreciate how subtly ingenious the writing is, and her bs moral compass is actually heading somewhere (argument persisting even after she regenerated), and she's clearly thought from the beginning to be the Doctor that abandoned all hope (fun fact: her theme is based on Luke Skywalker's, as in having A New Hope written all over it), and if I, a cis woman, can't see how brilliant a character she is, then clearly I'm a class gender traitor - yeah, fandom really wants me to dislike her. And then one day I saw a set juxtaposing Ten sweettalking the Master in Eot with Thirteen's I aM sO MuCh mORe THan yOU that had a comment about how it's good we have a representation of "softer" male characters and "tougher" female ones and I just thought Huh. So you're telling me the core of the chacter did change along with gender?...

I should add, though: in the one piece of media that has Whittaker as Thirteen but no Chibnall that got released til now, the game Edge of Reality, she's really, really good! Just to be clear, the game itself is an absolute disaster gaming-wise, but the story is really something I want to consider a valid part of EU. It just... feels like the writers wrote it for any Doctor and tweaked it to fit in Thirteen's individual quirks, rather than starting from the quirks and then making a DW story out of them. And, since it also features Ten (whose ass you chase with the sonic. yes, I believe the Master was involved in the development), it answers the biggest question of all: yes, River would be very excited about her spouse being a woman now :3

18. it's absolutely criminal that the fandom has been sleeping on... CATMASTER!!! This isn't completely slept on, but there can never be enough Catmaster! Specifically the machnics of how the cheetah virus somehow stayed in their biodata and every Master after Ainley is literally a biological cat to some extent! And I guess I should finish the Chibnall negativity by praising bringing this up in canon again! The day the Doctor figures out they just need a laser pointer in the sonic can never come soon enough

We all know that Wick has a metal leg and call me stupid but I always forget that because you seem to rarely draw it. And that makes me wonder: how did he even get it in the first place? And just how much of a problem was it to get used to it? Because I can imagine him falling face first in the first week or so before he finally got used to it.

Ah dw you are not stupid for forgetting about something I barely show, even because I have been trying to redesign his leg into something more consistent that can stay for the future instead of confusing people on what is the right leg design for Lampwick, that’s why I have been sticking to halfbodies drawings of him most of the time.

His leg got amputated after heavily passing out at the end of chapter 4 . The one to do the operation was Panacea himself ( Owl doctor ) when he still worked for the alchemist and before witnessing one of the many tragedies of his own experiment to find a cure ( in which Lampwick was one of the guinea pigs ).

Wick’s leg was severely in gangrene and it would have spread across his body, probably ending up a carcass like his roommate, Alexander. So instead of killing him, Paracelsus requested Panacea to spare him because “he could still be useful” even without a limb.

He was pretty knocked out into the surgery, Panacea didn’t even need to administer anesthesia to remove the rotten leg, he simply went with the saw and then attach a legion leg ( very similiar to P’s arm ) powered by legion charges ( yeah, Wick’s leg has a sort of in-battery built in, he needs charges in order to use it since it is basically attached to his body and can’t remove it ) and that’s it.

Of course when you wake up from a surgery table, in Lampwick’s case, the first thing you ask yourself is how you ended up there to then realise “where the fuck has my leg gone?” Lampwick didn’t take it easily psychologically especially for the chronic pain of the missing limb. He was heavily tied up to the bed shouting in pain and crying through a convulsion, until Panacea heard him awake. That was not easy to deal or to elaborate for Wick since everything happened too sudden for him from getting sick >>> losing a limb.

He felt scared and alone.

Panacea was the only one to take care of Wick as his patient but eventually got knocked out by him in attempt to escape. Lampwick truly went into a “fuck this shit I’m out” state after discovering that for the alchemist he was just a mere experiment, leave and basically become what we all know a love today.

He indeed took time to get used to the leg, probably more than normally since his nerves were basically exposed to the point to cause him continuous chronic pain by walking and falling many times because of it. His will to survive was the only thing keeping him alive even though sometimes death could have been tempting.

Also fun fact : I tend to meme a lot about Lampwick’s boobs and stuff but the muscolar body he has build up is not something he went willingly. Since he was a Bastard and a bodyguard and bodyguards need to have big bodies in order to act as human shields, the alchemist involved with the research to a cure used the Bastards themselves as their Guinea pigs. The medicine was hidden in their meals secretly mixed with steroids and since steroids tend to increase blood pressure, the blood flow because of that is increased giving them faster results in those that could be considered “separable” or “failures”. Lampwick was in constant movement and training with the other bodyguards so none of them never questioned why their bodies were changing drastically. They thought it was all “part of the the training process.”

Hope this answers your questions! Took me a while to find the right words to make it make sense haha

They had longed since clean the soot from the explosion from what used to be Barcus' homework potion. There wasn't a lot, thankfully, and nothing got destroyed which was great because Viney doesn't think she'll ever be able to pay for anything.

Not that anything Jerbo owns is very expensive but because... Well, her family is not one that someone would call, uh, financially stable. Yeah. That's a nice way of putting it.

Well, something had to go wrong after the bout of miracles of successfully bringing Hunter over.

As it turns out, Jerbo's moms are very good at sniffing out coven members. They're both the nicest people Viney has ever had the honor of knowing but she forgot that moms can be terrifying.

("Yeesh." Hunter says, with wide eyes as the adults leave the room. "Why are your parents so anti-Belos?"

Before Jerbo has the chance to speak, Barcus chimes in with, "They both got drunk with the Owl Lady one night." Which makes Jerbo slumps back down with a sigh.

"...That somehow explains everything and nothing at the same time.")

After that, a brief conservation was shared between Barcus and Hunter about potions. The detention trio vaguely recall Hunter wearing the potion track uniform the day he sneaked into Hexside.

("You speak Woof, Hunter?" Jerbo inquires.

"Somewhat. I'm... Familiar with Head Demon Eberwolf. Eventually, I picked up some Beastspeak languages.")

And when Barcus mentioned needing to make a potion for homework, Hunter offered whatever knowledge he has to assist.

Evidently, it does not turnout well.

Viney winces as she plucks the smallest and last shard from the her foot. That's on her for going around the house with no socks.

She forms a dark blue spell circle and gets her palms ready to cast healing magic.

"I was going to ask if you were going to heal that wound." Barcus sneezes from across Jerbo's room. "You step on glass and then you just get on Penstagram."

"It was just the other Entrails having fun in the group chat. Plus, Gus wanted to try one of those human memes Luz taught us. 'Sides, it's nothing serious." Viney chuckles. She takes a look around the room noticing the absence of the other boys. "Where's Jerbo and Hunter?"

"I think they're downstairs. Something about apologizing for the damage." Barcus sniffed. "A little odd considering nothing got damaged."

"Aside from your beaker."

"I think that goes without saying."

Speaking of the two, the other boys have returned to the living room where the witch and demon are. Hunter looks a little wild in the eyes and Jerbo looks... unnerved for some reason.

Barcus notices it too, if the glance they share means anything.

Viney raises a concerned eyebrow. Jerbo just mumbles, "I'll tell you later..." And leaves it at that. The would-be veterinarian merely nods.

"Sorry, again. I didn't think the unicorn hair wouldn't mix well with acacia roots." Hunter sheepishly wrings his hands together.

"In all fairness, it seemed like a good idea." Barcus growls. "Acacia roots boost the effectiveness of the potion which is what I needed."

"Didn't you say you were going to get help from Ms. Grace?" Viney asks.

"I was." Barcus nods. "But then Hunter offered to assist. I wanted to see what he knew."

The Golden Guard winces. "Which isn't a whole lot, I'm now realizing."

Jerbo flaps a dismissive hand. "Ce n'est pas grave. Don't worry about it. Nothing was destroyed."

Hunter hesitantly nods. "Alright." He still looks tense, if what his posture is telling Viney.

"Say," Viney starts which grabs the attention of the boys, "how about we check on the animals? It's what we're here for anyway."

"And I thought you were here because you enjoyed my company." Jerbo drawls, getting up from his bed.

"No, I'm here for the animals as always." Viney sweetly (and cheekily) smiles.

"Ouch. Tu me brises le cœur, Viney." The plant witch dramatically says. He drawls a hand palm up to his forehead for the extra effect.

Jerbo may have been a theater kid when he was younger.

"I have no idea what you just said so I'm gonna assume you're okay with that."

Hunter's eyes flip between them and Viney notices the confusion on the witch's face. Yeah, she can't blame him, that's just how they are. It's natural.

She has a feeling that... he doesn't get out much. Honestly, she's pretty surprised at how well he's good at small talk.

Especially since finding out that, as it turns out, Hunter met her friends before. Kind of. He had a conversation with Jerbo before and... Well.

Jerbo had to get that want for change from somewhere. He pulled her aside once they went inside the said witch's home and told the healer of how a potion track student wanted him to join the Emperor's Coven alongside him.

How he declined and declared he was going to change the system when he got older.

Hm.

("Err..." Hunter begins, confused, once they land in front of the house of Clemont. "Viney? Isn't he the guy you renounced your friendship with when we met?"

"Yeah. But that was ages ago. Things change." Viney said, unbothered.

"Viney, that was literally, like, two weeks ago.")

...It'll be fine. Probably.

A sudden ding grabs the attention of the coven member and he moves off the wall he was leaning on. "What was that?"

"Pretty sure that was your scroll, dude." Viney answers.

Hunter frowns then reaches into his pocket and pulls out his scroll. "Oh, it was."

His frown eases once he sees it's a message from Skara.

I see people talk about the outsiders a lot. Am I really missing out?

As for why I sent the ask... I don't really know... When your David Funko pic appeared in my feed, I was about to scroll past when I saw the abundance of Doors CDs and DVDs in the foreground. It made me pause to see another Lost Boys/Doors fan, so I felt curious enough to check out your blog. I gasped when I saw the Bully Posts (Bc i feel that it's pretty...niche? Kind of random and somewhat obscure?) and I just felt compelled to compliment you on your interests. It's rare to see people who like similar things to me, so I just felt excited. I never expected you to answer, nor did I expect to ask you so many asks in return. The questions just bubbled out of me.

As for why I remain anon... truthfully, I've had a lot of bad experiences with people (not online... just in person), and it's left me very wary and withdrawn regarding people. It's really hard for me to talk to people. I do want to, but it's sort of akin to attending a party, but feeling trapped in the shadows and watching everyone have fun. So I guess I feel safe as anon. This is random, but are you a fan of the Metal Gear Solid franchise? It's a Japanese video game series. I was just wondering because I noticed you like gaming and some Japanese media. mmm honestly if youre curious about the outsiders you just have to see the movie/read the book for yourself ;p i wouldnt say youre missing out if you arent that interested in it though... i wasnt all that interested in it for years and i actually didnt get into the outsiders till about a year/year and half ago? unlike most people i actually didnt get to read the book in class my class had to read "To kill a mocking bird" and my god what a slog that book is. could not recommend a book less. once we finished the book we got to see the movie and me and my friend were going crazy for atticus finch bc the actor who played him was hot.. ANYWAYS how i first got introduced to the outsiders was from the movie. the teacher didnt feel like teaching and put on the movie. (the other english classes got to read and watch the movie in the first place btw very envious) and even then i just didnt really care about it i thought patrick swayze was hot as darry but i didnt really care about the plot. it took like 4 more years for me to actually remember it and think "man i wonder what the actual plot of that movie was because it wasnt just sweaty patrick swayze"

no im not a fan of metal gear solid but i do get a lot of memes about it on instagram feed. i know theres a character named solid snake with an eyepatch i think?? the only real parts of gameplay ive seen is ladder climbing and some military dude groping a white haired twinks crotch ??? another japanese game i get a lot of out of context memes of are the yakuza games. i have no idea what the hell is happening in those games because every clip i see makes it seem like a completely different thing but i have friends who are massive fans of it

hobbies mmm well when im in the mood (which is rare) i do paint and do art ive posted some of my art on here (fallout art) but majority of the time if i do end up posting art i post it on instagram and thats IF i do it the last time i did art was like november?? i think? i could show some of my paintings if youre interested?

i also love to watch horror movies so i guess i would consider that a hobby. majority of the movies i do watch are horror. i dont really watch television because a lot of tv especially modern tv has like hour long plot heavy episodes and no i cant fucking do that. the only show im actually watching rn (at a slow slow pace rn mind you) is jojos bizarre adventure. in the past the only show i could kind of stand to watch was seinfeld because i could just use it as background noise half the time and the other half i could turn my brain off and enjoy some shitty tv. but some of my favorite shows are the midnight gospel, the twilight zone, and star trek the original series.

as for reading the last "real" book i read was for school and i could not tell you which book that was. currently i mainly read comics or manga (which is just japanese comics not a clue why people act like its so special and different) the last comic i read was i think batman and joker the deadly duo?? its been awhile.... i need to get in the habit of actually reading because most of the time im playing fucking block blast. not even reading fanfiction im just playing block blast. omfg typing out what i do all day is really setting it in how dumb it is i just spend all day playing this stupid block game oh my god. ANYWAYS every one or two days ill end up staying up all night playing fallout new vegas.

i dont have many hobbies my days consist of me playing blockblast mainly hopefully you have a slightly more interesting day than i usually do bc holyyy shit its just block blast 24/7.

Alr ive ,thought about it and im calling it "mercurys lulaby "( idk if i spelled lulaby right)

Story:

So mercury was bullied alot in this au and he discovered his singing voice( the singing part is important but we'll get to that later)

After earth went a TINY BIT TO FAR, mercury just ran to the asteroid belt, far away from Jupiter and saturn

It took awhile but mercury managed to make a vacuum outa asteroids ( i ran outa ideas here)

He slooowly went near the sun where the sun couldn't see him, and uh-

Mercury like- sucked the light, and energy outa the sun, since the vacuum was pretty big

The suns colour drained, he was just.. Grey

There was no light no nothing, lets just say his personality drained too.

Everyone immediately noticed and freaked out, but then they heard something.

Mercury used his little song ( which didn't have lyrics, just vocalizing)

Everyone felt drowsy. Like the song was making them fall asleep

Mercury came out from behind the sun after each one fell asleep

He captured venus ( NO, THIS ISN'T VENCURY BTW)

and mercury took venus captive

The planets soon woke up, confused, and freaked out

Meanwhile with venus, he wasn't himself anymore, by that, i mean he was hypnotized, the real venus was in his mind if that makes sense, he could see what was going on around him but he just couldn't control himself

mercury had venus in a asteroid cage, mercury was thinking what he could do for revenge.

He looked over to the suns energy he collected. He grins at it

Meanwhile with the sun, he was almost lifeless, actually, he was slowly (LIKE REALLY SLOWLY) shrinking.

The planets where out of their orbits thinking what to do. Saturn was crying, the moon and earth were making up plans, and mars and jupiter were shook

so they needed to stop mercury as fast as possible.

Mercury didn't know venus was hypnotized, since venus was just sitting on the ground, lifelessly

Mercury angrily told him " JUST STAND UP WILL YA?! "

venus opened his well- purple and white eyes and just stood up

Mercury was a bit shook, but he grinned at himself thinking he could use this to his advantage

The planets were finding ways to stop mercury

Earth and mars went to the deep parts of the asteroid belt, planning to comfront mercury

mercury ended up capturing earth, leaving mars since he saw mars as a friend-ish

Earth was yeeted into the same cage as venus was, venus was just following mercury wherever mercury went ( again, not vencury)

Earth wanted to know what mercurys plan was

after that (this part will be simplified bc i don't want this to be too long)

Mars soon was captured with earth, ( TW:GORE MENTIONS INCOMING) mars got his eye r!pped 0uT. Mercury wanted to know their plans.

Earth was also harmed, his surface looking like hell

after that jupiter went into the deep part of the asteroid belt

mercury didn't take jupiter, instead he wanted jupiter to "join" him

Jupiter of course said no, like a normal person would

Mercury told him sm like " alr... Well then... How about a deal? How about we battle? Me, "earth and mars and Venus" vs, you and those idiots? If we win, i get to rule the galaxys. And the sun dies off. If you win. I will stop and return the suns energy. "

Jupiter shook his smol hands and yeah

They fought, mercury sadly died. Then earth mars and venus came back to normal ( oh yeah mars and earth were hypnotized too-)

The sun was back to normal. Except.. Mercury was gone.

PLEASEEE i have made so many opps in my life and honestly i know there’s a saying that if you make enemies out of a lot of people you’re the problem but i really don’t think i am?? like i always try to self reflect and i definitely have been villainous in the past as has everyone but there’s a startling amount of people that dislike me for dumb reasons JHSFSD omg it’s so bad

whenever i think of dropping someone i’m like oh was i the bad person in this situation but being objective i hardly am 😭 this girl i think was just really jealous of me and so took the opportunity to put me down at any opportunity (she was also lowkey islamophobic and as almost half of my family is muslim i did not find her jokes terribly funny) and she was also one of the ones that like if i liked a guy she was suddenly OBSESSED with him meanwhile they wouldn’t even know who she was?? like she’d go up and talk to whatever guy i idly said was cute and they’d literally be like “who are you lol” 😰 there’s a lot of weird stuff w her she’s also HUGE into jjk and jjk x readers so i’ve always been terrified she’ll find my account hence why i don’t ever do face reveals or post pictures of things she might recognize (like my dogs…we had already stopped being friends by the time i started riding cloudie so i’m not scared of posting him) she only ever read on ao3 and didn’t try to figure out tumblr + she liked gojo choso and nanami none of whom i’ve written for so i probably would be safe but it’s still a thought in the back of my mind…anyways…

RIGHT like can you make a light novel out of this?? then it’s probably good…i think blue lock is a good counterexample actually where the story is very much so enhanced by the visuals because it’s a sport animanga but i think the sports genre is a little exempt from that test because who wants to read about sports KFHSD idk if that makes sense ANYWAYS everyone always says that jjk’s female cast is good as if not sexualized automatically equals well written…like yes gege did more for them in the sense that they were at least mostly covered up but that’s about where he began and ended 😭 BRO HANA GET BEHIND ME the way everyone hates her too i honestly just wish she got better treatment back when i was into jjk i LOVED her i honestly could write an entire essay about how i would’ve preferred she be written (like i did w kuni and yuki) but tbh the story started going downhill shortly after her introduction so idek where i’d start…suffice to say i would’ve had her be alluded to much earlier, not had her be obsessed with megumi (i think a romance between them could’ve been thematically and visually very lovely but NOT how it was handled and not given the fanbase jjk has), and expanded on the angel vs sukuna beef especially how that might’ve impacted the hana and yuji dynamic 😩 i think gege had the same problem as kaneshiro where there’s just too many characters but unlike bllk, there’s a much more expansive world in jjk too and that would’ve allowed for in depth exploration of more characters without slowing the story terribly if only that was a consideration yk

i don’t think jjk is horrible either!! there are a lot of things i enjoyed about it and i wouldn’t say it’s the worst thing to come out ever — it also suffers from having such a large fanbase that people are going to be disappointed no matter what direction gege goes in, so i have to give him that; however, agree, it’s not as peak as everyone says it is, and i think it’s fanbase would do well to recognize it for what it is (a normal shounen with slightly more gore but also with the regular pitfalls of the genre) sometimes i think the ending wouldn’t have been as disappointing if it hadn’t been hyped into smth beyond what it actually is yk 🤔 and honestly i don’t think it’s a failure of jjk to be that LMAO blue lock is very much so in that category and i still love that!! mostly because it is self aware and doesn’t try to do more than it has the capability for…instead it takes genre conventions and works inside them/expands on them (ego vs teamwork, the backstories of characters like snuffy) to maximize its impact?? idk if that makes sense HAHA like at the end of the day kaneshiro included anri’s hip waist bust measurements in the egoist bible and she’s also the only somewhat main female character so he’s not trying to beat the bad female cast allegations whatsoever he fr just threw chigiri in and called it a day but it works?? because he didn’t sit and say “hm how can we defy everyone’s expectations and astound the world” he was just like “ok soccer manga time”
