Low key very tired of people responding to veilguard criticism with something along the lines of “lol these people have no media literacy, didn’t you understand what the game was telling you??” Yes, yes I understand what the game was trying to tell me. That doesn’t mean I have to like it or the way the writers went about it.

Also the whole argument of “well, the dragon age fandom proved they couldn’t handle xyz controversial character/element of the story so that’s why veilguard had very little references to those things” kinda grinds my gears a bit. I don’t think it can be proven with 100% certainty what writing decisions were made based on past fandom reactions to the other games, but I do think it would be an incredibly shitty move to simplify or remove complexity from a story just because there might be a portion of the audience who doesn’t get it. “The fandom couldn’t even handle Vivienne” Yeah a good amount of people dismissed her as a selfish snooty bitch, but I didn’t and a lot of other people didn’t and to remove complex and interesting characters like her on the basis that enough people “won’t get it” just feels like a disservice to all of us.

I get that video games are products and for a product to sell more it’s gotta have mass appeal #and to have mass appeal it’s gotta cater to a wider audience #so yeah maybe simplifying things and removing controversy is good for the bottom line #but as an appreciator of art and good storytelling it just wounds my soul a bit lmao #also even if you’re afraid your audience won’t get something #wouldn’t it be better to present the more complex versions of things on the off chance some people grow and learn from it??#maybe some people will encounter something that makes them uncomfy #and if you give them a chance to just SIT. They *all* get a chance to be featured.#Cooperation was the real end goal! However I do think these two have the best frontman energy of the group.#Or at least 'crowd favourite' energy. I also really loved hearing what people thought their vocal styles would be like!#This was probably one of my favourite polls to do and I love drawing these characters a lot B*)#I'd love to spend a bit more time in this AU so count on me bringing it back.#One thing I keep feeling like I need to redeem myself on is Madam Lan's Translucent skirt. I have *not* done the concept justice yet.#It is such a crack-platonic ship but I want to think Madam Lan and A-Qing would enjoy each other's company.#Possibly also with JYL as well. They can be like mutually beneficial therapy dogs to each other.#Madam Lan never got to see her kids grow up into teenagers after all. She only had sons. Never daughters.#Even if she saw her kids once a month we do know she treated them with so much love and kindness.#She would bite the shit out of YZY for yelling at JYL. What a sight to see. i checked the italian blind run that apparently is very popular in the IT community. and. was anyone.

so was anyone. was anyone going to tell me in this version dusknoir asks if his existence had value.

his line about saying with full sincerity that life is marvelous.

why didnt i hear of this until now i crave to know every little difference between translations so i can cry again and again over the same guy.

#i love all the other translations dont get me wrong #there hasnt been any new content of futuee trio in 10 years i need to sustain myself somehow #no but fr 'now that the end is approaching... i can say without hesiation... and #with full sincerity... life is wonderful'#hey localization team wtf #i like other translations where dusknoir specifically says hes not wavering up till the very end #that he lived #its concise yet unflinching. a state of fact. despite all the darkness that surrounded him and he tried to perpetuate #in the end he lived. his existence happened. thanks to grovyle he can embrace the life he had and let it go with no regrets #but this IT version where it feels a little more abstract and less individualistic doesnt turn me away either #it puts the focus a bit away from himself to make a more encompassing statement: life is wonderful #living is wonderful #i dont think its inherently better or worse. i appreciate the difference. i think celebi says sth similar afterwards too #btw i teared up while taking the screenshots thank you in the morning sun #btw x2 idk italian so thank god these structures were so close and similar to spanish and latin #pmd2 #pmd dialogue

Gallery of Evil - Lord Hyden

Lord Hyden was advisor and high court wizard to Lord Darigan, serving under him alongside Lord Kass during the events of Champions of Meridell. Scheming, duplicitous, and power-hungry, the Cybunny advisor had his own motives, playing the two against each other and eventually assisting Kass during his hostile takeover of Darigan Citadel. However, when Kass fell and the citadel was reclaimed, Lord Hyden was nowhere to be found.

Some say he was defeated during the battle. Others say Lord Darigan sentenced him to jail for his crimes during the war and that he is currently being held in a high-security prison cell deep within the citadel. Still others claim he fled after his betrayal was discovered and is currently living in disguise, hiding somewhere in Neopia.

Some years after his disappearance, rumors began to circulate of a powerful Kyrii wizard taking up residence in an old castle in the Haunted Woods. It is said that he offers travelers dark spells in return for signing dubious magical contracts. Could there be any relation...?
