FIRST SUMMER
PAIRING ➩ heeseung x reader
SUMMARY ➩ you and your bestfriends brother (possibly your mortal enemy) are both given the task of renovating your childhood lake house during the final summer before it’s sold
WARNINGS ➩ light smut, heeseung and reader aren’t super nice to each other most the time
WC ➩ 14.5k
AUTHORS NOTE ➩ Well.. officially out of retirement with this one I hope! I started this august of last year and abandoned it during my hiatus so picking up where I left off was a bit difficult and I apologize for any changes in writing styles. This isn’t my favorite thing I’ve written but I hope you guys enjoy it, thank you always for waiting for me. NOT PROOFREAD NO PART 2
You wondered if Lee Heeseung had been put on this earth for the sole purpose of making your life more difficult.
He’d probably argue this assumption with the fact he had been born before you, his main reasoning behind his many claims that you were the one copying him and making his life a living hell and not the other way around. He was a measly two years older than you but never failed to bring it up and use it against you.
Heeseung had been in your life for as long as you could remember and you absolutely never got along.
It wasn’t a big issue at first considering you were kids and had no real need to be around each other. The playgrounds were big enough for the both of you and your parents saw no reason to force a connection between the two of you, despite the fact you were neighbors and the two pairs of adults actually got along quite well.
Similarly to you and Heeseung’s little sister, a small girl who was born in the same year as you but nearly your polar opposite in personality. At first you’d been hesitant when she started to show up to play with the older boy, knowing him by now as the enemy and assuming she was going to be just as wicked and terrible. It only took watching her push him down onto wood chips once for you to decide to be her best friend.
The boy had scowled from his place on the ground, grumpily picking pieces of the wood from the fabric of his sweater and watching the two of you run off together towards the swings.
He’d failed to understand the power of your friendship in that moment and now 15 years later he was still paying the price, stuck with the two of you constantly. You and Jiwoo almost seemed more like siblings than they did, attached at the hip and never going too long without talking to each other.
Which is why it was all the more annoying that you and Heeseung could never seem to get along, reverting right back to being two kids arguing on the playground every time you saw each other, which was quite often. You’d practically moved into the Lee’s house next door during high school and you were even a frequent guest on their family vacations, their mom booking a place with an extra bed for you before she even asked if you were available.
You weren’t exactly sure why the two of you didn’t get along. He was nice enough to other people and sometimes he cracked jokes that nearly made you laugh, only nearly. For some reason he just brought out a terrible side of you that you didn’t really understand and you were certain you did the same for him.
It was easier now that you were out of school and entering adulthood, not having any major reasons to constantly see each other and his parents didn’t have to force him to drive you and Jiwoo around places now that you had your own cars.
He was definitely still around though and you were trying your best to act civilly despite that inner part of you always preparing for an argument to break out between you.
Especially right now considering the fact he kept kicking your leg underneath the table at the restaurant both your families were eating together at. The Lee’s cousin was in town and you’d always been particularly interested in him, being a total sucker for an accent and a good beach tan.
You sent a glare to your right in Heeseung’s direction when he kicked you for the third time and jammed your heel against the bone in his leg, ignoring the grunt of pain he let out as he bent slightly forward to grab onto his shin. His mom sent him a concerned glance before remembering who he was sitting next to and rolling her eyes as she looked away from the two of you.
You were watching Jake as he talked animatedly about his life guarding job back in his hometown, leaning forward and resting your chin on your palm to show your interest despite the fact you weren’t fully listening.
It was difficult to considering the constant distraction sitting beside you, another kick being sent to the leg of your chair so you jolted slightly to the side. You whipped your head around to look at him again, immediately replacing your interested and awed look with one of hatred and disgust.
“What the hell is your problem?” You were spitting at him in a low whisper, grateful the table was big enough that the others weren’t really paying attention to you. Although they had to have expected an argument eventually considering they sat the two of you together, breaking an unspoken rule that had been built up throughout the years.
“Stop trying to seduce my cousin.” He was spitting back and his eyebrows were pulled down tight in a sharp glare, keeping eye contact with you in an attempt to intimidate you.
“Mind your own business.” Your response was quick and tight, slightly embarrassed he’d caught you staring but too angry to care.
You turned back to try and focus in on the conversation again but now you were suddenly overly aware of the fact Heeseung was sitting next to you and watching what you were doing, looking for any opportunity to tease you and start up an argument. You sighed softly and leaned back in your chair with crossed arms, keeping a scowl on your face and letting the dinner pass by without speaking again.
“You know, I figured the two of you would eventually start getting along once you became adults.” Your mothers tone was laced with lighthearted disappointment after the dinner, walking ahead of you on the rock path leading up to your front door.
You could hear your father laughing softly in front of her at the idea of your life long feud being laid to rest, a frown instinctively coming up on your face at their inside joke.
Glancing over to the side, looking past the small stretch of grass that separated your pathway from the Lee’s, you saw Heeseung sporting a similar dejected expression and you wondered for a second if he was hearing the same lecture you’d been getting after dinners for as long as you can remember. Then he was looking over towards you and meeting your gaze in the low light of the summer sun setting, eyes immediately hardening into a glare that you quickly returned.
It was hard not to think about it later on in bed, eyes trained on the old plastic stars on your ceiling that didn’t glow anymore. Your hands were folded on your stomach and you were tapping your thumbs softly on the smooth skin in contemplation.
Sometimes, although you’d rather die than admit it to anyone, you also didn’t understand why you and Heeseung didn’t just stop fighting.
He was kind to Jiwoo in a way that always made you envy having siblings and despite his constant teasing he never declined driving her places or picking up food for her when she didn’t feel like going out. And he was even kinder to your parents, treating them like his own and having manners enough for the three of you growing up.
It was like you were dealing with a completely different person, him falling into that same angry glare the moment you’d step into a room. Sometimes he’d be mid story with a group of friends, being charming and funny as he recanted something and exaggerated moments to get a few more chuckles. You’d watch from a far for a bit and then slowly approach and every single time he’d pause for a moment, looking completely thrown off by your arrival, and then tensing up and losing track of what he was saying.
Your presence just seemed to bug him and as the two of you got older it affected you more. You didn’t mind the fact he wouldn’t play with you when you were kids, never dwelled over him saying you had cooties or getting dirt on your favorite stuffed animals.
But the fact he still continued to hate you as you aged and matured, settling into your respective personalities and lives, you couldn’t help but be offended he disliked you so much.
“He’s just weird.” Jiwoo had explained to you once when you were both seventeen, sprawled out on her bed and flipping through a magazine as she addressed you. “You shouldn’t think too deeply about it.”
Heeseung had just graduated high school and you’d all attended the ceremony, both families getting reserved seats per his request.
It had actually gone well for once, he didn’t seem upset that you were there and he had even hugged you alongside your parents when he came off the stage and your mother handed him a bouquet of celebratory flowers. Mrs. Lee had shot you a surprised glance and then a supportive thumbs up and you gave her a soft smile in return, figuring he was just so excited to have graduated that he was managing to tolerate you being there.
The Lee’s had taken advantage of the fact your backyards combined into each other, no fencing between them, and the two pairs of parents had decorated the space for a small party for the older boy.
You were excited to go, especially since Heeseung hadn’t demanded an explanation for your invitation, and you even managed to make some good amount of conversation with a few of his friends.
The conversation was swiftly interrupted when you felt a hand wrapped around the middle of your arm, tugging you a few inches backwards to get your attention. You whipped around to see who it was and you were met with an angry looking Heeseung, looking more familiar to you than the smiley version of him you’d seen earlier.
“Why are you talking to my friends?” His voice was accusatory like you’d done something wrong and he sounded so upset that for a second you felt like you had.
Your mouth had parted in confusion, fumbling for words and coming up short from the shock of his sudden confrontation and also the embarrassment of the situation considering he wasn’t exactly being subtle with his anger and the boy behind you could definitely hear every word he was saying.
“Chill out Hee, we were just making simple conversation.” Jay proved you right by speaking from over your shoulder but you didn’t bother looking at him, keeping your eyes locked on Heeseung and wincing softly at the way his face hardened at his friend defending you. “Cmon man, I know better than to-“
“Do you know better? Because it doesn’t seem like it.” Heeseung was cutting him off at the same time he was removing his gaze from yours, breaking you slightly out of the worried spell you were under as he looked at his friend from over your shoulder.
You weren’t exactly sure what they were talking about but you assumed Heeseung had warned his friends against speaking to you. It took you back a bit, despite knowing he didn’t like you.
The two of you definitely didn’t get along but you were still very close regardless if you liked it or not and you spent a lot of time together, so it hurt you more than you expected it to that he hated you enough to actively try and keep his friends from interacting with you, enough to the point he’d embarrass you and cause a scene at the sight of it.
“Hee I’m sorry.” His eyes snapped back down towards you at the sound of your quiet voice, completely out of character for you to not be fighting back or making a snarky remark.
It seemed to throw him off enough that his anger faltered for a second, looking concerned for a moment as he stared down at you before his jaw was tightening again and his face hardened back up.
You weren’t sure why you didn’t bother to snap back at him, if it was from the embarrassment of being ripped out of a conversation and scolded like a dog who’d gotten into the trash or if it was actual disappointment at his behavior despite the fact you definitely should’ve been used to it.
“I think you should head home. Parties almost over anyways.” He was eventually saying and it was directed towards you although his eyes had dragged back over your shoulder to look at Jay.
You figured he had looked away because he was feeling slightly guilty for embarrassing you and not being fought back in return, or maybe he was disgusted with you and didn’t want to look at you.
Still, his tone wasn’t as angry anymore although just as hard and stern, and you nodded softly before stepping sideways out from between the two tall boys. You knew he was lying about the party being over soon but it had ended for you anyways and you had no issue leaving it and going to the safety of your bedroom.
Jiwoo had caught the end of the encounter and caught up with you as you speedily walked away from the boys who had started to angrily murmur at each other, hence leading to the conversation about her brother in your bedroom and her explaining he was just being weird.
“Jay is a total playboy though, you should steer clear of him.” Her nose was curling up in disgust as she made the casual comment but a small pout formed on your face, wondering if Heeseung thought you were going to hookup with his friend and that’s why he was extra aggressive about it.
Eventually you let it pass from your mind to become just another bullet point in the long list of things Heeseung had done to show you he truly disliked you.
It was a lot easier to start to dislike him back, easier to fight with him and snap insults rather than get confused and sad about why he treated you so differently. So your routine was set in stone even deeper and neither of you ever faltered, not during birthdays or relative weddings or even your own graduation two years later.
So it wasn’t exactly an easy thing to handle when your parents and the Lee’s were sitting you all down to explain that your family lake house was going to be sold at the end of the summer.
“Wait why would you ever sell it?” Jiwoo was blurting out before they got the chance to explain and you had a permanent frown on your face as you waited to hear their response.
You watched your dad and Mr. Lee exchange a heavy but meaningful look, like there was something they’d already discussed amongst themselves in regards of how to tell you. You were sat on the left of Jiwoo, Heeseung on her right and for some reason you had to resist the urge to lean forward and see what his expression was.
“We’ve decided, now that you three are all grown up, it was just time. We figured we’d use the money to travel during the summer or save towards retirement.”
It made sense as your dad started to speak but you felt a weird clenching in your stomach at the thought of not having the lake house to go to anymore.
Realistically he was completely right and you’d started to neglect the yearly trips out there, taking them for granted and not appreciating the time you got to spend at the house. You didn’t even go at all the last two years, finding yourself too caught up with things so unimportant you don’t even remember them now.
The lake house was a tradition that was instilled before any of you were even born, a collaborative effort of your parents to try and bring some fun and adventure to your summers since you grew up so close to the city.
“So it’s just gone?” Heeseung was speaking for the first time since the meeting was called and you were surprised to hear how thick his voice was with upset, clearly more affected by the breaking news than you and his sister. You caved to the urge and leaned forward a bit to try and get a look at him but Jiwoo shot you a sideways glance and you quickly sat back in place.
“Well not exactly.” Mrs. Lee’s voice was soft as always and you watched as she reached across the small space between the seven of you and gently rubbed her sons knee, giving him a soft smile and an encouraging nod. “We will have one last summer with it, mostly for renovations before the new owners come to look at it.”
You knew exactly what she was talking about when she said renovations, hearing your dad complain about the rotting in the deck and the holes in the inside walls for years now but never making the time to fix them.
But you weren’t fully understanding what they had planned for the three of you yet and you wished you had in that moment so maybe you could have come up with an excuse faster. They explained to you softly, attempting to lessen the blow, that you would have to go and stay at the lake house for a few weeks and fix up the place to make it look brand new for the new owners.
You weren’t at all against getting to be up there one last time, breathing in the clear air and having campfires on the sand, but you definitely didn’t want to sign up to spend your summer doing free manual labor.
Your parents left no room for argument and you could see the prepared disappointment on their faces so you offered no reason for it to escape, hesitantly agreeing with the plan and waiting to hear what the siblings next to you had to say about it. Jiwoo was stiff beside you and staring forward at the ground like she was in deep thought, a bad feeling washing over you at her expression.
She proved your suspicions right when she started to explain in a meek voice that she had already made plans for the first month of summer, having completely booked and paid for a vacation near the sea.
Her eyes shifted towards you as she told your parents this and you immediately furrowed your eyebrows in annoyance, knowing right away she was lying and making up an excuse so she didn’t have to come with you until the second half of summer and by then the house would be mostly finished already.
To make matters worse, you didn’t even process the fact Heeseung would definitely not decline considering how much he loved the lake house and that would leave the two of you alone up there.
He seemed to piece it together a few seconds before you did and you saw the realization settle over your parents faces too.
“Woah woah wait, there’s no way I’m going with just her.” He was quick to shut down the idea, sitting up straighter and shaking his head dramatically.
You didn’t say anything in response surprisingly despite the fact everybody in the room tensed up in anticipation for a fight to break out between the two of you. You were a bit dazed from the news of losing a big piece of your childhood and you were also just tired from the day over all, already knowing Heeseung was going to reject before he’d even opened his mouth to do so.
Mr. Lee was sighing and beginning to lecture his son on being an adult and putting your differences aside for something this important but Mrs. Lee was silent and giving you a curious look that you were too afraid to try and decipher.
Eventually it was decided that the two of you would either suck it up and go to the lake house together and work on it without killing each other or you’d face the wrath of four disappointed parents. You didn’t say much about the agreement either although Heeseung had plenty of comments to make and Jiwoo was finding the entire situation pretty hilarious from an outside view.
It had been about an hour since the family meeting and you were still in the Lee’s house, leaning your hip against the counter in the kitchen and mindlessly peeling some potatoes for the stew their mother was making for dinner.
The air was hot and dry like it always was during the beginning of summer, not bothering to creep up anymore and instead it just seemed like one day it was cold and the next you could barely sleep without waking up in a puddle of sweat.
You could hear the bugs outside from the open window, loud and alive with excitement for the new season and the breeze was just barely cooling off your damp skin. Normally this would bring you the same feeling summer always did, a lightness in your chest and a heavy sense of nostalgia everywhere you went.
It wasn’t hard to guess what was dampening your mood and leaving you feeling a bit shut off, the source of the weird emotions just a staircase away upstairs in his room playing video games.
Mrs. Lee was walking into the kitchen and pausing when she saw you although you only met her eyes for a split second before quickly focusing back in on your peeling and chopping. She cleared her throat softly and came over towards where you were leaning on the counter, placing down some lettuce and starting to chop besides you.
“Something put out your fire tonight?” She was asking it casually and her voice was as soft as ever but you immediately understood what she was implying.
You glanced at her from the side of your eye before shaking your head. Mrs. Lee had a certain aura about her that always made you feel like a little kid again, vulnerable and sensitive. As much as you loved your own mother, you always envied your neighbors for having her so close growing up.
“Sometimes it just isn’t worth the argument.” Your words weren’t the least bit convincing considering how forced they sounded coming from your mouth, paired with the fact you’d never once backed down from an argument and they all seemed to be worth it to you up until this point.
You could hear her take a deep self calming breath and your hands froze where they were chopping slowly, bracing yourself for whatever she was planning to say next.
“He means well honey he just… isn’t sure how to get through to you.” She somehow sounded as certain as she did hesitant and you could feel her gentle hand patting the side of your arm softly, leaving you with your poorly sliced vegetables and dimmed fire.
——
Throughout the entire process of packing your bags and mentally preparing yourself to head up to the lake house, you’d completely forgotten the fact you’d have to ride with him the entire five hour car ride there and then back again once it was all over.
He definitely didn’t seem to miss this fact considering he was standing outside leaning against the car with a nasty scowl when you came out, dragging your suitcase behind you and nearly tripping over the step off the porch from its wobbling weight. Your mother was trailing behind to say goodbye but not offering much help when it came to loading up your stuff.
Heeseung luckily didn’t say anything to you when you were approaching, greeting your mom with a gentle but annoyed good morning and staying on the side of the vehicle when you started to attempt to load your stuff inside the trunk.
After a few groans of annoyance slipped out of you, due to the fact your bags kept tipping over back out towards you and refusing to stay still in the neat tower of things Heeseung had packed for himself, he was sighing and making his way back towards you.
You glared at him when he circled around the car, not in the mood to be berated or rushed so early in the morning, especially right before you were stuck in a car together for the entire first half of the day. Your harsh facial expression faltered a bit when he was rolling his eyes and tugging your suitcase out of your grip.
“Just go and get in the car already, you take too long.” He was spitting it at you and harshly side eyeing you before starting to load your stuff up but you didn’t bother to argue considering the gesture was nice enough if you ignored the attitude he always carried.
“Well that was sweet of him.” Your mother was whispering the words to you in a dreamy voice, nudging you softly with her elbow and eyeing Heeseung through the windows.
You paused and glared at her in confusion, a dumbfounded expression and a sneaking suspicion starting to arise considering how weird both her and Mrs. Lee have been acting in regards to the two of you and your complicated, but mostly aggressive, relationship.
“Are you kidding me?” You settled on a bewildered statement instead of grilling her about her weirdness, knowing she wouldn’t give you an answer anyways.
She had given you a shrug that you assumed was noncommittal and then hugged you tight, tighter than she’d ever had and you tensed up a bit at the embrace.
You’d gotten into the passenger seat of the car and tried not to think about how weird the dramatic send off was, tried to focus yourself on keeping calm and not letting Heeseung get to you too early on in your time being forced together. You weren’t exactly sure why you were trying to be the bigger person lately but you chalked it up to being exhausted with the back and forth.
“You’d think she was sending you off to war.” He’d made the comment as he put the car into drive and you glanced over at him, staring at the side of his face, both confused and relieved by the fact he had noticed your moms weird attitude.
“She might as well be.” You didn’t mean to sound so snippy but it was your default setting when replying to him and he didn’t seem to mind the tone, chuckling dryly under his breath and shaking his head in annoyance before focusing in on the road.
He didn’t attempt to talk to you again for another hour or two and you were grateful for the silence, giving you another opportunity at being less confrontational. It definitely wasn’t for his benefit or to be kinder to him, you just didn’t want to constantly be exhausting your energy with the effort it took to keep up with whatever set him off.
Eventually he was pulling off of the main highway and turning into a gas station that was almost completely barren, stuck in one of those sections of a road trip that was basically just fields followed by more fields.
He was getting out of the car and shifting through his pockets for his wallet before sighing and glancing at you in the passenger seat, watching him from the corner of your eye so it didn’t seem like you were staring.
“Want anything to eat or drink?” He was asking in that familiar reluctant tone he always had with you and for a second you wanted to snap at him and decline his offer, tell him to just hurry up and get what he needed so you could get back on the road.
You took a small breath instead to steady your emotions before nodding. “Yeah I’ll just… I’ll take a-“
“I know what you want.” He was cutting you off and closing the car door before you could say anything else, leaving you with parted lips and annoyance starting to simmer in the lowest part of your stomach.
You scoffed even though he wasn’t around to hear it and leaned back in your seat, crossing your arms and scowling as you waited for him to return. You highly doubted he knew what you would get from a gas station, knowing he never paid attention to you or your interest outside of finding something to fight about and it just aggravated you further that he would go as far as to ask like he cared just to not let you answer.
He didn’t take long in the gas station luckily or else you’d overthink too much and be on the verge of exploding, sniffing slightly when he slid back into his seat and passed the bag with the snacks in it.
You paused for a second to glare at him before you were taking a look into the plastic and pausing when you spotted your favorite drink and a snack you commonly ate whenever you were stressed out or particularly craving something, mixed in with things you knew he enjoyed.
“What?” He was asking from the drivers seat and he sounded weirdly awkward underneath the familiar attitude. “Is it not right or something?”
“No it’s… it’s right.” You cleared your throat and nodded softly, sitting back in your seat and closing the snack bag after you grabbed what you wanted out of it and balanced it on your lap. “Thanks.”
“Yeah whatever.” It was muttered in his low tone but you caught it anyways, finding it almost as weird as the fact you had thanked him. He was finally starting the car and starting to pull out of the gas station much to your relief and you focused back on looking out the passenger window.
The heat was reaching the point where the low quality AC in the car wasn’t doing much to cool either of you down and once he rolled his window down instead, you took the silent cue to do the same to yours.
It was still pretty dry in the air and the sweat was really starting to make you itch and worsen your mood so you were hesitantly unbuckling your seatbelt so you could sit up more in your spot and pull your sweater over your head, leaving you in just a tank top and you sighed softly in relief as the air immediately cooled down the wetness of your sweaty arms.
You could feel Heeseung’s stare from your left and you glanced at him with furrowed eyebrows, rolling your eyes when he quickly scowled in return before snapping his gaze back onto the road.
It was pretty quiet for the rest of the drive, Heeseung playing the same music you often heard coming from his bedroom or his headphones when you were forced to sit close to each other in a car so you were actually able to recognize them and sing along.
Neither of you said much even when getting out of the car and starting to bring your things in, exchanging quick glares when you reached for the same bag or got in each others way but for the most part you were too relieved to finally be back somewhere that always caused your stress to melt away.
This time wasn’t any different and you took a second before you went inside with your things to take a deep breath, letting the fresh air fill your lungs and listening to the sounds of the water against the shore just off in the distance.
You couldn’t see the lake from the driveway as clearly as you could from the other side of the house where the deck was located but it was just one of those places where you could actually feel the difference in the air and the atmosphere.
“Can you hurry up? There’s plenty of time to stop and do nothing later.” Heeseung was griping at you as he passed by with another load of bags and you scowled at his back, completely removed from the peaceful moment you’d been having.
You decided to just leave it be and finish unpacking, flopping onto your back on your designated bed and panting slightly from the effort mixed with the heat once you were completely finished. Your phone had been abandoned against the span of your stomach but when it started to vibrate, you immediately knew who it was.
“So how’s it going? Have you killed my brother yet?” Jiwoo’s amused voice did nothing but amuse you further although you were struck by how much you missed her teasing.
You could hear the sounds of waves in the distance through her side of the phone, envy settling deep into your gut despite the fact you were also near water. The small lake was a lot different compared to the endless sea she was currently vacationing at, having a nice time with people who cared about her versus you being stuck with her older brother who couldn’t bother even being kind to you.
“We surprisingly haven’t really fought yet.” It came out of your mouth in a hefty sigh and you absentmindedly played with the string of your pajama shorts, pressing the phone tighter against your ear. “Think he’s downstairs getting ready for dinner.”
“Are you going to eat with him then or just hide out in our childhood bedroom?” She was asking it like it was a question but you both knew the answer already, the same accusatory tone that she always had heavy in her voice underneath the knowing smile you could practically see in front of you. “He’d probably secretly like it if you ate with him you know, I always did figure he had a crush on you.”
An automatic eye roll came over you at the sound of her baseless teasing. She often made jokes about Heeseung secretly liking you growing up, coming to the conclusion that was the reason he was always so harsh towards you.
You’d told her countless times that that was absolutely ridiculous and there was no way Heeseung liked you, let alone that he was the type of person who thought being mean to somebody was going to get them to like him back. You had seen the types of girls Heeseung brought home occasionally and he definitely knew better than to resort to elementary school level flirting methods.
She was eventually hanging up once one of her friends started to call her name, inviting her to come and swim with them.
You laid in bed for a while after the call went silent, feeling struck again with that weird lonely and nostalgic emotion that you couldn’t quite understand. It wasn’t normally this silent in the lake house, typically filled with doors opening and closing and the sounds of your mothers rushing around the kitchen as they cooked and your fathers cleaned.
As much as you didn’t want to, you couldn’t help but wonder if Heeseung was feeling just as weird about the whole situation as you, if he was downstairs just as lonely and unnerved by the fact it was only the two of you this summer and then nobody ever again. Your mind stuck on that thought process when you started to smell food drifting its way up the stairs and going straight to your empty stomach.
You’d planned to avoid the older boy as much as you could, especially during the first few days, but you were beyond hungry by now and you couldn’t help yourself from standing out of the bed and making your way downstairs.
He didn’t notice you for a few seconds when you first hit the bottom step, watching him for a beat as he casually moved around the kitchen and diverted his attention to three different pots and pans. He was listening to music again, something low playing from the old radio that sat in the lake house year round, and you realized how often you associated him with something soft playing.
You were completely ripped from your thought process when he was turning around and letting out a loud shriek when he saw you standing at the bottom of the stairs, dropping the bowl that was in his hands and doing a little scared hop.
“What the fuck are you doing?” He was spitting out and your mouth parted in surprise, not expecting such an extreme reaction or how loud it suddenly got. “Why are you just standing there like a weirdo?”
“What? I was not, I was just..” You started to defend yourself loudly but gave up midway and let out an annoyed grunt, knowing he wasn’t exactly wrong about what you were doing and you didn’t necessarily have an explanation. “I was just coming to see what you were cooking dickhead.”
He stared at you for a few seconds with a look on his face that you didn’t really understand before he was stepping to the side and revealing the plate with a handful of burgers on it.
You looked at it before you were meeting his stare and a weird feeling passed through you while holding his gaze, not something you often did- especially not willingly. He had cooked enough for the both of you despite his attitude when you’d came down and you weren’t sure if it was intentional or just habit but the act struck you.
The two of you ended up sitting at the table and eating in awkward silence, directly across from him but feeling like he was miles away considering he hadn’t even acknowledged you being in the room once.
You couldn’t help but be hyper aware of the fact you were very rarely alone with Heeseung and this was about as alone as any two people could possibly be. He was a lot less defensive when it was just the two of you and if you didn’t know any better you’d say he almost seemed shy, making you think about the jokes Jiwoo often made.
It’s not like Heeseung was at all ugly, you’d never stoop low enough to make fun of him for something that was so clearly not true.
Especially within the last year or two, he’d completely changed both in build and confidence and you were extremely glad you didn’t have to be around him as much as you did growing up. You disliked him as a human being but you were still a person in reality and he was almost unnaturally attractive.
“Why are you staring at me again?” His voice was low across the table, speaking in an awkward mumble as he started to push what was left of his food around with his fork.
You didn’t bother denying the fact you were watching him even though you hadn’t really realized you were doing it, completely zoned out again. You figured your time in the house together was already going to be awkward no matter what so you might as well ask him what you were thinking about. “Jiwoo says you have a crush on me.”
He completely tensed up for just a split second before he was quickly switching his demeanor and letting out a heavy scoff like he found you ridiculous. You caught the small reaction and your interest peaked, sensing an opportunity to get under his skin.
“Jiwoo also watches too many romance movies.” He was quickly disregarding what you had said with a casual and bored tone but you could tell that he was clenching his fork a little tighter, avoiding looking up from his plate all together.
“So you’ve never once found me attractive?” It rolled off your tongue easily, like you were asking him something as simple as to pass the mashed potatoes, but you gave him a knowing glance from under your eyelashes.
He finally looked up at you once you said this and he seemed taken back by the way you were watching him, the expression on his face telling you he thought you were absolutely crazy for even asking this.
“What? Are you kidding me, of course I haven’t.” He was quick to deny it and you could tell he was getting irritated, hand tightening around his silverware and that familiar clench of his jaw showcasing how much your questions were bothering him. You couldn’t tell if it was because he felt embarrassed or disgusted.
You let out a soft hum of understanding and let the silence sit for a few breaths, watching as he slightly relaxed under the assumption you were done saying weird things.
“I think you’re attractive.” He had been mid bite when you finally spoke again and his body lurched forward almost like he was choking, covering his mouth when he coughed and quickly taking a sip of water to try and force down whatever he had put into his mouth before you nearly killed him.
After he calmed down he was shaking his head at you again although not looking at you, staring down at his plate like he was thinking deeply about something and for a minute you wondered if he was going to take the bait like always or if he was going to just brush you off, making your stay much more awkward.
“My sister put you up to this?” His voice was stone cold now and he clearly was slowly losing his resolve, similarly to you considering what he said had completely thrown you off.
What did Jiwoo have to do with any of this and why would he automatically think that?
“No.” You shrugged like it was a casual conversation but your heart was beating a bit faster now, sensing genuine anger from him and not just annoyance. “I just don’t see the point in lying just because we don’t like each other.”
“You think I’m attractive?” His eyebrow was quirking up now and he was narrowing his eyes, leaning forward in his seat.
He’d finally put down his fork and stopped pretending to be focusing on the food he had barely eaten, elbows on the table and his full attention on you as he waited for you to reaffirm what you had said so confidently a few seconds ago.
The confidence had definitely left your body as soon as you’d said it and actually got his attention, feeling similarly to how you did when he embarrassed you at his party despite the fact the two of you were alone.
Very alone.
Still, you held strong and pushed through the conversation and if your stomach turned at his head tilt when you gave him a small quick nod, you’d pretend it didn’t. There was no going back now and you weren’t sure what direction this scenario was heading towards.
On one hand, you knew Heeseung had to be lying. You definitely weren’t unattractive and he clearly had eyes, ones that settled on you more times than you’d wished you had noticed so he wasn’t oblivious to this fact either regardless if he wanted to pretend he was. He was a teenage boy at one point and you were prancing around his house in short skirts and bathing suits.
And on the other hand, you didn’t think it necessarily mattered.
If Heeseung found you attractive he didn’t have to say it and this would be the ultimate time to completely embarrass you, humiliate even. If he rejected you here, you’d never live it down and he’d forever hold this over you as the time he utterly destroyed your ego in one fell swoop. Plus a large part of you was hoping he wasn’t planning to do that anyways even though you weren’t exactly sure what you wanted out of this.
You had hated the boy across from you for as long as you’ve known the power of the emotion and you’d never let him and his tall build and cute hair distract you from this fact.
But you also weren’t stuck seeing him everyday now. He didn’t live at home and you rarely came around unless you were forced beyond what you could deny so the stakes were a lot less high if he reciprocated what you were saying right now.
“You’re going to have to say it.” His low commanding tone was enough to stop you from overthinking the fact this was a bad idea, an absolutely terrible idea.
It was also enough for you to shift in your chair uncomfortably so you could better squeeze your legs together, watching the way Heeseung’s eyes darkened at the movement even though there was no way he could see what you were doing underneath the table.
“I think you’re attractive Hee, don’t be weird about it.” You were pulling yourself together and standing from your seat then, completely popping the bubble of tension that had started to suffocate you.
He didn’t say anything, thankfully not correcting you on the fact you had definitely been the one who made things weird, but he watched you with a heavy expression as you hurriedly cleaned your plate and disappeared up the stairs with quick footsteps.
——
You were coming to terms with an unmeasurable amount of regret now that a few hours had passed.
The bed had become your official moping place and you stuffed your face so far into the pillow you could barely catch your breath, possibly a self punishment for your humiliating behavior. You’d given up on attempting to sleep and you couldn’t rely on Jiwoo to entertain you considering she was probably busy and you were fearful you’d slip up and confess your sins to her the second she answered.
How do you explain that you’d nearly, just barely, flirted with her brother?
If you could even call it that considering the fact he looked like he was just on the verge of throwing his plate at you the entire time. Still, it had been weird and far too bold on your part and you were strongly regretting your life decisions up until this point.
Eventually you decided that sleep was useless and not coming anytime soon and you might as well make use of the fact you were at the lake house, suddenly remembering the hot tub that was placed around the side of the large deck. It didn’t take long for you to change into your swimsuit and start to head outside but you froze up right outside the slider door.
Considering how cruel the universe had been up to this point, you should’ve expected the fact that Heeseung was already occupying the small pool of water.
You were just starting to take a step backwards with the plan to retreat back upstairs and change again into your pajamas when you decided against it, taking a deep heavy breath before pulling the door open and simultaneously alerting the boy of your presence.
He was nearly all the way in the bubbling water but you could tell he was shirtless, something you’d normally be unaffected by if it wasn’t for the conversation you had. The steam from the hot water mixing with the cold night air was covering his face for the most part but you could see him enough to tell his face had hardened at the sight of you.
His gaze was locked on you for the duration of your walk towards the tub, stopping right outside of it and taking another subtle breath to try to calm yourself down.
“Mind if I join you?” Your voice was rougher than you wanted to be, nearly giving up the fact you were affected by the awkward tensioned air and the way he was watching you still.
He made it worse by not responding out loud, giving you a subtle nod of his head that made your heart rate increase. Still you were following through with the initial goal and climbing over the side of the tub before settling down into the hot water, letting out a sigh of relief and sinking into it until only the tip of your shoulders were above the surface.
Heeseung was still watching you and you were avoiding looking at his side completely, although that didn’t help much considering you could feel his stare on you.
“I’m sorry for making shit weird.”
Well apparently your mouth was planning on getting things out of the way before your brain was.
You looked up just in time to see him cock a brow in your direction, an expression on his face you couldn’t read and you almost groaned in annoyance from how calm he was being about the entire thing. You kept waiting for him to lash out at you and yell about your weirdness, maybe even call your parents and demand Jiwoo came instead of you.
“I don’t think it’s weird.” Instead he was saying this and shifting so his arms were resting on the back of the tub, lifting his torso out of the water more and giving you a better view of the wet streaks going down his neck and past his adams apple. “Unless you didn’t mean it.”
“I meant it.” Your voice was coming out rushed and your eyes were widening a bit, mentally cursing yourself for being so eager to reassure him.
He hummed softly like he had earlier and your stomach flipped again with nerves.
It wasn’t missing you that this was completely out of character for you and totally ironic but you were only human and as much as you disliked him as a person, you couldn’t deny how good he looked with damp hair and his tan skin lit up by the LED’s of the hot tub. He was sexy and always had been despite how much you wished that wasn’t true, and now you were alone.
So you tried to ignore your long history with him as you shifted through the water so you were closer to his side, only a quarter of the way to him now instead of being directly across from you.
He watched you silently for a few beats before he was scoffing and shaking his head like he was judging you, causing your eyebrows to furrow tightly as you stopped moving closer to him.
“What?” You felt embarrassed suddenly at your assumption and prepared yourself for him to make fun of you again, scold you for ever thinking he’d want you closer to him just because he hadn’t made you feel weird about your admission.
“Nothing. I just should have known you liked me.” He was laughing to himself slightly like it was the funniest thing in the world, not at all discouraged by the glare you were sending him. “You totally followed me around all the time, plus you always had that look in your eyes.”
“I do not have a look.” You hissed at him with a sharp voice and this seemed to amuse him even further. “And I never said I liked you don’t be stupid, I just think you’re hot.”
His eyebrows raised up high and his eyes widened in amusement, catching your slip of the tongue as you aggressively spat the words at him. “Oh see you said attractive, didn’t know you found me hot too.”
He was clearly having fun with the whole embarrassing situation and you gave up quickly, leaning against the back of the tub behind you and frowning with your arms crossed under the water in front of you. You stared ahead of you at the bubbles and tried to tune out his low chuckles.
“Don’t get pissy about it.” His voice was filtering over the running jets again and you glanced at him from the side of your eye, surprised to see something that slightly resembled guilt on his face. “If it makes you feel any better… I think you’re hot too.”
This made the corner of your lips turn up into a small smile, something very rarely ever sent in his direction from you. You turned your body to face him again and leaned forward with interest.
“So you lied earlier.” Your voice was more excited than you wished it was but you didn’t fully care, sitting up on your knees a bit. His gaze was dropping down to your chest before meeting your eyes again, losing all traces of humor now that more of your skin was visible.
“Yeah. I lied.” He confirmed in a lower tone and your smile fell slightly, suddenly nervous again. You were used to how he was acting a few seconds ago, making fun of you and feeling angry and embarrassed around him but this was a side of him you had no history with outside of watching him flirt with girls at parties Jiwoo forced him to bring you both along to.
That didn’t stop your body from naturally moving closer to him, drifting along the bench until you were right beside him and you could feel his thigh pressed up against your knee.
Your mouth was parted softly to try to keep breathing around the hot steam and his eyes were seemingly transfixed on it, watching your lips as you wet them instinctively and remaining on them even when your tongue was slipping back into your mouth. You could feel his breath on your face and it struck you that you’d never been this close to him before.
His face was leveled with yours for once since you were still perched up on your knees and he was sitting normally, minimizing the usually very apparent height difference.
He hadn’t touched you or even moved at all but you could feel his skin next to yours and you were hyper aware of his every movement, the subtle rise and fall of his built chest and the way his throat moved with every deep inhale he took. He seemed to be showing some restraint and that made you shift impatiently, teetering towards him until your shoulder was brushing against his.
His eyes shut tightly for a second when he felt your bare skin touching his, mumbling something under his breath before he was looking at you again.
This time his gaze was going all around your face instead of just focusing on your lips, even dropping back down to your bare shoulders and the way your wet hair was sticking to the skin of your neck. He scanned down past your chest to where the rest of your span of skin disappeared under the water.
“Hee.” Your voice was breathy as you finally spoke and instead of cutting the tense moment, it only worsened it and you felt your thighs pressing together again like they had at the dinner table. This time he could clearly see the movement past the bubbles and he stiffened a bit. “Can you touch me Hee?”
You watched him tense even more at the sound of your whiny voice using his nickname, one you didn’t say nearly as much as your friends and family.
He didn’t reject you even though you were starting to think he might considering how restricted he look, instead he was lifting his hand out from under the water and cupping it around your jaw softly. You could feel his thumb rubbing along your cheek, the water from his arm rolling down your neck and disappearing back into the pool of it.
It was almost embarrassing how much it affected you to be touched by him so intimately and the urge to kiss him was too overwhelming, a dizziness settling in from both the heat and the longing sitting harshly in your stomach.
You were so close to each other that you could feel his lips brushing against yours, not quite kissing considering he was rocking softly backwards every few breaths and holding your face tightly so you couldn’t surge forward and get it over with.
Heeseung definitely wasn’t letting go of his habit of teasing you but this felt particularly cruel and prolonged.
“That what you want? Want me to touch you?” His tone was meaner than you expected it to be but you didn’t exactly mind, at all apparently considering the shiver it sent down your back. He was clearly making fun of you and your desperation but if he touched you, you knew you wouldn’t be able to find it in yourself to care.
So you took a deep shaky breath and nodded your head as much as you could while he still held your face, moving your hand so it was touching his bare knee.
Your action took him off guard enough that he lessened his grip for a split second but it was long enough for you to lean forward and press your lips against his for just a second, barely feeling them on yours before he was pushing you back again and your hand was impatiently squeezing his knee.
Another embarrassing whine came from deep in your throat and his eyes flashed with something for a second before he let out another soft hum.
“Can’t do that baby.” He was so close that his lips pressed against yours as he spoke and you completely froze up once his words made sense to your lust dazed brain, just barely processing his rejection before he was letting go of your face and leaning away from you.
You did nothing but watch him in horrified shock as he stood out of the water and left the hot tub, weirdly calm even when your gaze was locking on his bare torso.
He was leaving casually like he hadn’t just did the worst thing you could possibly imagine and you felt hot wet tears of anger spreading rising quickly, completely humiliated and swiftly reminded on why you hated Lee Heeseung so much.
——
As the days continued passing with awkward avoidance on both of your ends, you were struck with the fact that maybe you didn’t hate him as much as you always thought you did.
You’d actually admired Heeseung at points considering he was the oldest out of the three of you and continuously setting a good example despite all the pressure. Some nights you’d leave a heated argument with him and head back inside your own home, laying on your bed with a racing heart and a scowl fixed in your features.
Then you’d hear the strumming of his guitar coming from his house, window wide open and directly across from yours.
The first few times you’d put in your headphones or let out an annoyed shriek as you slammed yours shut, trying your best to tune him out and erase his existence from your mind ; out of sight out of mind.
Eventually you got tired of pretending you weren’t impressed by how smoothly the chords carried over to you, how swiftly he must be moving his hands to produce something so soft and gentle. You’d let it carry you to sleep and for a moment you felt like you were experiencing something together.
You were more naive then, tricked into thinking he ever cared about you enough to even know you were listening, childish and stupid to possibly hope he might’ve been playing for you.
Some sort of apology.
He never was and he made that very clear to you and eventually your embarrassment and shame turned to hide behind anger. It was easier to fight with him, to scream and yell, than to admit that he was hurting your feelings and lowering your ego everytime he treated you so harshly.
The entire situation was extremely frustrating and annoying, almost (but not quite) as annoying as the continuous banging happening directly under your head for the past hours.
With a loud groan, you were getting out of bed and deciding to end your moping abruptly, heading downstairs to see what the workers Heeseung had hired were doing that made that much noise. You slowed your steps as you descended down the stairs, realizing there was a lot more men in your second home than you’d originally expected and they were all moving around at a fast and busy pace.
You’d just barely managed to dodge one of them, carrying a large amount of… something, as you reached the bottom step but in your attempt to move out of the way you were running into an abandoned tool box and spiraling in the other direction.
Your eyes had squeezed shut and your body tensed bracing for an impact that never came, instead feeling yourself smack into someone’s strong and sturdy frame.
“You alright?” You quickly shot open your eyelids to see who it was you’d fallen into, turning red in the face at the concerned look the man holding you was sending down in your direction, still holding you softly and giving your arms a slight squeeze like he was trying to get you to focus.
He watched as you nodded your head softly with wide eyes, helping you steady yourself back on your feet but still holding onto your upper arms like he was worried you’d fall again.
You took the opportunity to scan over his body and your face flushed a bit more at the sheer size of the man and his extremely toned arms, looking away quickly to focus on his feet between yours instead. Heeseung was definitely a large guy too and nearly towered over you but you imagined he’d look tiny in comparison to the one in front of you.
“You sure you’re okay? You look a little red.” He was speaking again in a soft voice that directly opposed his look and you snapped out of your random thoughts about Heeseung.
“I’m okay I promise.” You were nodding quickly and giving him a soft smile, hoping you were convincing enough to make him believe you definitely didn’t need any type of medical attention just because you’d tripped over a box. “Just startled me a little. Thanks for catching me….”
You trailed off while watching him and it took him a few seconds to understand what you were looking for, a bright smile on his face once he realized and filled in the gaps. “Namjoon.”
“Well thank you Namjoon.” His name was rolling off your tongue smoothly and his smile suddenly looked a lot more like a smirk making you a lot more aware of the fact he was still holding onto your arms and standing close to you.
He didn’t get a chance to reply considering the loud sound of someone aggressively clearing their throat was coming from next to the two of you, both your heads turning to see who it was and it was almost comical the way you froze up in sync with each other.
“Shouldn’t you be getting back to work now Kim?” Heeseung’s tone was stiff but you could feel the underlying threat in his words and the man across from you definitely could considering he was immediately letting go of you and taking a few rushed steps backwards, mumbling a goodbye to you before he was disappearing into the kitchen to find a task to complete.
Your shoulders slumped at the interruption but your heart was beating fast looking at Heeseung next to you, recognizing the expression on his face even though it was subtle.
He was absolutely furious, the type of anger that typically caused you to end arguments early or completely stay out of his way. When he got like this you knew it wasn’t the time to poke fun at him or start up any banter, his entire aura becoming a lot darker and less forgiving.
You’d fought with him like this a few times, realizing a little too late that he was in one of his moods and it was those times that he had said the worst things. Things that made the family and friends around you gasp even though they were used to your rivalry, things that caused tears to spring to your eyes as you stormed off to a different room.
“Let’s go.” He was saying it calmly but you felt a chill run over you as he stared at you with fury and disgust, reluctantly following behind him as he left the main living space and entered a small hallway just next to it.
You hadn’t even gotten the chance to explain before he was abruptly turning around and facing you, taking a few harsh steps in your direction until you were backing up and slamming into the wall behind you. Your eyes widened in surprise and slight fear, not understanding why he was suddenly cornering you.
Heeseung moved forward until he was pressing against your body and now your emotions were abruptly changing as you realized what was happening, a wave of heat rushing through you at the feeling of his front leaning onto you.
You were slightly embarrassed he most likely could feel how fast your heart was beating but you couldn’t find it in yourself to care once he was reaching up to grip your face, a lot less gentle than he had earlier in the week when you thought he was going to kiss you.
“So I don’t give you the attention you were begging for and now you’re flirting with the first guy you find? His voice was low and harsh, completely demeaning you and still watching you with hatred in his eyes.
You hated how much this drove you crazy, the urge for him to berate you and make you apologize for what you had accidentally done arising quicker than you’d even knew had existed and you were a bit dizzy from how much you wanted this.
“Please.” It was rolling off your tongue before you’d realized you were saying it and you barely recognized your own voice, breathy and begging for something you didn’t even understand. His eyes got even darker, if it was even possible, and your stomach lit up with a desperate heat.
“Pisses me off so bad when you do that.” He was practically hissing it at you, voice a low whisper and his hand around your jaw tightened, leaning in so he was speaking to your ear. “Stop being so fucking dumb and use your words.”
You tried to get ahold of yourself enough to find the right sentence to tell him what you want but your mind was completely blank, instead deciding to just arch your back off the wall so you were pressing tighter against him.
Heeseung faltered a bit and his eyes dropped down towards where your stomachs met, watching as you tried your best to roll your hips up to meet his but failed to actually get any sort of relief for yourself.
“Just fucking touch me.” You were finally gasping the words out through clenched teeth and he didn’t waste any time thankfully, surging forward and surprising you by kissing you deeply.
His tongue was pushing into your mouth before you even processed the fact he was actually kissing you and you were letting out a satisfied groan against his lips, letting him lick into your mouth softly and play with his tongue against yours. His hand was wrapping around your lower back and tugging you forward so you were pressing against him the way you wanted to.
A wave of desire ripped through you feeling that he was hard against you and you snuck your hand in between the tight space of your bodies and palmed him through his shorts, smiling at the way he sucked in a sharp breath and stopped kissing you for a second.
Your smile was dropping when he was meeting your eyes and looking ten times more deadly than he did in a daily basis, still glaring at you like he always did but with tenfold the usual fire and tension. That didn’t stop him from pushing his hips against your seeking hand for a few seconds, eventually stopping and letting out a groan as he snatched your wrist off of him and pinned it against the wall behind you instead.
He was rutting into you so hard that you were almost worried the rough materiel of the wall behind you was going cut your back, completely forgetting about it half a second later when he was pressing himself perfectly against your sensitive lower half.
“Keep your fucking mouth shut.” His voice was dangerously low in your ear and you could feel him taking heavy breaths against your neck, panting to try and keep himself quiet.
You were nodding quickly at his command despite the fact he couldn’t see you, curling your hand tightly in his hair and spreading your legs wider so he could continue to slot himself between them and give you just a taste of relief. He immediately took the silent invitation and shifted his hips against yours more, almost bordering painful if it wasn’t so addicting to feel him this way.
Heeseung was clearly struggling to control himself and you couldn’t recall ever feeling this needy for anybody before, something about how forbidden the entire situation was mixed with the life of tension and anger was driving you absolutely insane and you didn’t seem to be alone in it.
“You want me to fuck you here?” He was picking his face up out of your neck to look down at you and check your reaction, his eyes hazy and dark with his lips parted and swollen like he’d been chewing on them. “Where anyone can hear you begging for me?”
“Who said I’m going to beg?” You were trying to snap back at him but your voice came out weak, nearly a desperate whine that got louder when he was shifting against you again.
“Sure seems like it, the way you’re spreading your legs for me already.” His big hand was sliding down past your waist and cupping underneath your bare knee, hiking your leg up harder and rolling his hips against you so deliciously you nearly collapsed as a stuttered moan ripped through you.
You immediately took your hand out of his hair and covered your mouth with it, eyes rolling back a bit at the feeling of him shifting his hips against you and practically dry humping you right there against the wall.
Knowing that the house workers were only a few feet away and walking around completely clueless about what they might walk into was only making you more desperate for him and you didn’t care how out of character it was for you. At this point you would be willingly to let him take you in front of anybody who wanted to watch, leave you shaking and crying for him in public.
He didn’t need to hear you say it to know this, a cocky look on his face underneath the fucked out expression he already had.
“Always running this pretty mouth.” He was speaking again in that same low tone but he seemed completely out of it, almost like he was talking to himself and not you. His free hand was gripping your face, squishing your cheeks together so your lips were puffed out and your eyes were wide. “Should’ve known you wanted me to stuff it.”
An embarrassing wave of want washed over you again at his words, nearly drooling at the thought of him shoving his cock in your mouth to get you to stop back talking. It would’ve felt more humiliating if it wasn’t for the way his eyes were completely frozen on your mouth like he was thinking the exact same thing.
You couldn’t resist the urge to tease him more and your tongue was sticking out softly before you’d even realized you were doing it, causing him to loosen his rough grip on your face a bit to allow for it to push past your lips. You were staring up at him with big wet eyes and your tongue on display, silent waiting and begging for something you hoped he’d understand.
Thankfully he did and he was only hesitating for half a second before he was picking his head up more and spitting down into your mouth.
Heeseung didn’t even give you a chance to swallow before he was following the spit with his tongue, licking along yours and cleaning up his own mess before you were pulling him back into a kiss and sucking him deeper and deeper into your mouth. It was completely filthy, the nastiest kiss you’d ever shared with somebody and you were terrified you’d become addicted to the feeling of his spit on your chin.
“Please Hee.” You were gasping out into his mouth, reaching up to tug on his hair again and get his attention locked on you and your request. “Need you to fuck me.”
For the first time since you’d started, he actually looked hesitant. He glanced down the hallway towards where the dozen of workers were and your heart dropped to your stomach thinking he was going to stop what you were doing, even if it was just to take you upstairs to a bedroom. You couldn’t handle the idea of separating for even a second and you were spreading your legs impossibly wider and touching his face with your shaky hand.
He glanced back at you in question and his eyes darkened again seeing the pure disgusting need on your face.
“You’re stupid if you think I’d fuck you like this.” He was shaking his head in anger and taking a step away from you, one that immediately had your body tensing and your heart aching in upset.
You were instinctively reaching out to try and grab onto him, just about ready to get down on your knees and beg him not to leave you at the peak of your high like that. But the empty look in his eyes made you rethink that decision and you just stood there in shock as he gave you one more angry glare before he was exiting the hallway and leaving you alone inside of it.
It was even more pathetic considering the way your entire body slumped against the wall before sliding down it and ending up on the floor with humiliation completely smothering you, knowing you only had a few breaths to wallow in your embarrassment before needing to get up and go back to your room.
You’d completely retracted back to your bed again after that and this time not even the smell of food or the sound of annoying construction could get you to go back downstairs and risk running into him.
Jiwoo had called you three times every hour before she finally gave up and instead sent a thread of text messages that you promptly ignored. You were overly paranoid that she’d find out what had happened, like even the sound of your voice would give away the fact you’d made out with her brother since she last heard from you.
If you hadn’t hated him fully before than you definitely did now because there was no way you’d still want Lee Heeseung after he embarrassed you like this.
You didn’t think he would tell anybody considering he’d get just as much heat for it as you would, if not worse since he was older and supposed to be taking care of you and his sister at all times in your parents minds. But the interaction staying a secret was almost worse in your mind, a private thing between you and him.
Nothing could have convinced you to leave the comfort of your familiar bed until the wind of the sea lightly blew back the curtains and gave you a small glimpse of the sunset raging outside.
You let out a big breathy sigh, realizing now how much time you’d been wasting moping around about a stupid boy when this was your last summer ever getting to experience sunsets this bright and air this fresh. Heeseung definitely wasn’t sat in his room caring about you and how he hurt you so why should you be?
It was almost completely dark by the time you made it down to the beach but you didn’t regret coming, the lake looking long and endless now that you couldn’t see the other side.
You remember it seeming a lot scarier when you were a kid, before you’d ever seen the real sea and back when you and Jiwoo used to dare each other to swim out as far as you could before seaweed grabbed at your ankles and spooked you back to shore.
Your heart ached with how much you missed her and you were pulling your phone out of your pocket and putting it to your ear without another breath, playing in the sand with your free hand while you anxiously waited for her to pick up and talk to you. You didn’t have to wait long considering she was answering after the second ring and you let out a breath of relief.
“Finally, I was starting to think you’d really killed eachother.” Her voice was sweet as ever and a wave of fondness and nostalgia hit you even harder, laughing softly but not fully answering her yet.
For some reason the sound of her light joking mixed with the waves from her side of the phone was bringing tears to your eyes and you didn’t need to say anything for her to understand you were feeling something heavy. You both stayed silent and you hoped she figured you were just upset about leaving the lake house behind and didn’t create her usual conspiracy theories.
“You okay over there? I can come early if you need me to.” Your friend was doing her best to reassure you without knowing why you were upset and you wiped your now running tears with your sleeve.
“I’m alright, just feeling a lot of things right now I think. Are you having fun?” You weren’t exactly lying in your answer which was good considering you didn’t want to lie to her anymore than you already had to.
“I’d be having more if you were with me but you already know that. Can’t believe my brother gets to spend more time with you than I do.”
Your heart sunk a little at the mention of the exact reason you were crying and you were sure how to respond to her without giving too much away. She could read you even over the phone so you knew she might’ve felt the energy shift now that she’d brought her brother up, sniffling a bit and letting the sand run through your fingers.
She talked a bit more about her vacation and how much fun being at the sea was after so long and you listened to her excitedly chatter, letting out soft hums every once in awhile to assure her you were still listening.
You actually were but a large part of you was still thinking about Heeseung and what he might be doing back up the hill inside the lake house. You wondered if he felt guilty for you hiding in your room or if he had even realized you weren’t inside anymore.
Jiwoo was eventually bidding you a goodnight and making you promise to answer her the next time she called on the first ring, sounding a bit heavier when she was saying goodbye and hanging up the phone. You hated that you didn’t feel the typical happy buzz that your bestfriend typically brought and more tears made their way down your cheeks.
You sat like that on the shore for another hour, watching the waves roll and crash onto the sand just a few feet away from where you were sitting.
It was putting you in a sort of trance, so many thoughts running through your head that you weren’t even able to pinpoint where one started and another ended.
You were so deep in your own head that you didn’t at all hear the calls of your name from up the hill, starting off mildly confused and concerned but escalating to full on desperate and panicky shout when they were met with no response. You certainly didn’t hear the footsteps coming down the large wooden steps from the back deck or when he breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing you on the beach.
“There you are.” Your back tensed at the sound of his voice and the soft tone in which he mumbled the words. “I thought for a second you’d gone back home.”
He was coming to sit beside you on the sand, just close enough where you could feel his body beside yours and the wind carried over his familiar scent but still too far to touch.
Which was for the better in your opinion.
You ignored him even though you could sense his stare on the side of your face and embarrassment was hitting you in rough rolling waves, hoping that the moonlight wasn’t quite bright enough to give away the large tear streaks down your cheeks or how red your nose had gotten from crying.
“Hey, I’m sorry about earlier.” His voice was still soft which was doing absolutely terrible things to your heart and you shook your head slightly, pulling your lip between your teeth to stop yourself from letting out another sob. “I’m sorry about everything in general.”
He was turning to face you more and you braved up enough to spare him even the slightest glance, seeing pure guilt and turmoil on his face.
Meeting your gaze was enough for him to realize how upset you truly were and he was sighing before scooting closer to you in the sand and putting one of his warm hands on your bare arm, now cold from sitting out in the wind for so long. You instinctively leaned into his touch and his other hand gently gripped the side of your face so you couldn’t look away again.
It was such a jarring difference from how he’d touched you earlier, from how he touched you your entire life actually.
“I didn’t mean to be so mean so you or leave you there like that I just… I just panicked I think.” He was rambling now and stuttering through his words, something you knew he often did whenever he got in trouble when you were younger. “You think about something happening for so long and then it actually does and it’s so much more different than you thought, n-not that it wasn’t good I just mean that…”
He trailed off and sighed again and you squeezed your eyes shut to try and ignore the desperate urge to just kiss him and shut him up.
You knew you needed to hear whatever he had to say and he definitely needed to say it, he long overdue owed you a few hundred apologies and it was a lot more than the fact he’d left you high and dry earlier.
It was all the times he glare at you and stolen a smile off your face and every argument you ever had that left you stricken with angry tears and storming out of a room, the embarrassment of being told off at his graduation party and even worse the fact he didn’t kiss you until he was driven by jealously.
“I’m just so sorry.” He seemed like he was ending his monologue there and you gave him a heavy look, slightly nuzzling into his hand before placing your own over it. “Say something please?”
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to say.” Your words were more honest than you expected them to be but his eyes softened when your voice came out weak and croaky, the full expanse of your hurt getting more obvious by the second. “I’m just confused.”
You were turning slightly so you were facing him more and you were certain the two of you looked a bit ridiculous, sitting criss crossed directly opposite of each other with your knees touching and his hand holding your face still, only moving to push some of your hair out of your face.
“I am too.” He was whispering now and you felt the full effect of it low in your stomach, a soft smile on his face now that you were opening up to him a bit more.
Heeseung had never left your life and it was a lot easier to list out all the terrible moments you’d had with him over the softer times, glimpses of days where he’d had a smile just like this wether it was in your direction or not.
He’d been there every time you called for a ride even if he complained about it most of the way home and you’d never stopped listening in extra hard whenever you heard his sweet dorky laugh coming from a few rooms over. You must have been blind to what your mothers had clearly started seeing a long time ago but little things this summer had made you reconsider how deep your dislike for each other goes.
You’d long hesitated to fight with him, starting to rethink your quick jabs and your constant attitude whenever he walked into a room and clearly he’d picked up on more than you ever realized, obvious by him so easily knowing your comfort snacks or the way to calm you down.
“You know,” Your eyes snapped back up to his when he started to speak in a low voice as you waited to hear what he had to say. He looked a bit nervous, like he was about to confess something and you gave him your full attention. “When we used to fight as teenagers, I’d always feel so terrible for making you storm home. Even started playing guitar with my window open so you could hear it.”
Your entire world view shattered just off of that simple admission alone and a heavy sob interrupted whatever else he was going to say, his eyes widening in surprise for just a moment before you were leaning over onto him fully and throwing yourself into a tight hug.
He eagerly accepted although not understanding the true weight he’d just released from your shoulders and you felt him let out a big breath of relief now that you were in his arms, his hands rubbing up and down your back as you cried softly.
You didn’t need to hear him say that he felt the same way that you did, as confusing and scary as it was after projecting your anger onto each other for so long. Your heart tore up thinking about that young girl in her bedroom just holding onto the silly childish hope that the boy next door was actually playing for her, now knowing it wasn’t foolish at all and he’d been right there hoping she was listening.
It hurt you to think about how much time you’d wasted carrying on a childish feud and how whatever this was had started off being such a disaster of jealously and toxic back and forth.
But you were immediately soothed by the never wavering feeling of his arms wrapped tightly around you and the gentle sound of the waves crashing on the shore, spending one last summer on the beach that raised you and creating your first one with the boy you loved.

Note
I have never requested before I hope I'm doing this right. You can feel free to ignore this.
But can I have Billy and stu (separate or together is your choice), Bubba Sawyer, Thomas Hewitt, Micheal Myers (original or Rz are your choice), Jason Voorhees, Norman Bates, and Billy Lenz. You don't have to do all. I don't really care who or how much you do. But them with a reader who takes care of their younger sibling. Kinds like the oldest sibling being a parent of their younger sibling
You can choose the age and gender but I would prefer a male and 4 year old kid but it doesn't matter. I just haven't really seen much of this and would really like more. I love your writing btw. Again you don't really have to do this and I feel like this request is long but just wanted to write it
slashers with a reader who takes care of their younger sibling ; headcanons
Tumblr media
WARNING: None
PAIRING: Billy Loomis x Reader, Stu Macher x Reader, Bubba Sawyer x Reader, Thomas Hewitt x Reader, Michael Myers x Reader, Jason Voorhees x Reader, Norman Bates x Reader, Billy Lenz x Reader
NOTE: I’m so glad you love my writing! Your request is perfect, and I really enjoyed putting this together for you. Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
BILLY LOOMIS
Tumblr media
At first, Billy's not sure what to think.
Kids are loud and messy, not really his thing, but he’s intrigued by how seriously you take your role as a caretaker.
He gets protective over both you and your little sibling in his own way.
He doesn’t interact with the child much but will keep an eye on them, especially if things seem off.
Billy admires your strength and responsibility
He didn’t grow up in the best family environment, so seeing you take on that parental role makes him respect you even more.
If you ever need help with your sibling, he’s reluctant but won’t say no.
He’ll watch over your little sibling in his way—just don’t expect him to read bedtime stories.
STU MACHER
Tumblr media
Stu doesn't really care for kids, but your little sibling is an exception.
He’s the chaotic big brother type, always joking around, making silly faces, and playing rough
...in a way your sibling enjoys.
He’s surprisingly great at distracting your sibling when you need a break, even if it involves a bit too much sugar or wild games.
Stu admires how you handle your responsibilities, but he’s also the type to encourage you to let loose and have fun with your little sibling.
He'll say something like
"Being a big sibling can be fun too, y'know!"
Sometimes, he’ll get your sibling involved in harmless pranks—nothing too serious, just enough to make you roll your eyes at the bullshit.
BUBBA SAWYER
Tumblr media
Bubba has a natural, gentle side that shows around your little sibling.
He’s great with kids because of his own childlike nature and will immediately want to help you out with your sibling.
He’s protective but in a soft, nurturing way.
He’ll help with basic care—making sure your sibling eats, plays safely, and feels comfortable.
Watching you care for your sibling touches something deep in Bubba.
Family is everything to him, and seeing you take on that role makes him feel connected to you on a more emotional level.
Your little sibling will probably love Bubba’s playful, kind-hearted nature, and they’d get along well
Almost like having a second big sibling!
THOMAS HEWITT
Tumblr media
Thomas is awkward around your little sibling at first.
He’s not used to kids, and his intimidating presence might scare the child a bit.
Once you show him how to be gentle, though, Thomas is (not surprisingly) good at it.
He’s careful and protective, and though he’s not talkative, his actions speak volumes.
He respects your role as the older sibling and quietly supports you in whatever way he can.
He’ll help carry your sibling, fix things for them, and even craft toys if necessary.
Thomas feels a sense of admiration for how you juggle being a caregiver.
It reminds him of the family dynamic he grew up in, where responsibility was a big part of survival.
MICHAEL MYERS
Tumblr media
Michael is eerily silent around your little sibling, but he watches the way you care for them with curiosity.
He doesn’t fully understand the concept of caring for someone, but he’s fascinated by your commitment.
He won’t actively interact with your sibling, and in some strange way, he becomes protective of both you and the child
Like he’s observing a small piece of humanity that he’s long forgotten.
Michael doesn’t interact much with your sibling, but if anyone or anything threatens them, Michael steps in without hesitation.
He’s drawn to your strength as an older sibling.
It doesn’t make him soft, but it earns you a twisted sense of respect in his mind.
JASON VOORHEES
Tumblr media
Jason has a soft spot for children due to his own troubled childhood.
When he sees how much you care for your little sibling, it stirs something in him.
He’s fiercely protective, acting as a silent guardian over both you and your sibling.
He doesn’t speak, but his presence is always there, watching to make sure nothing bad happens.
Your little sibling isn’t scared of Jason for long.
Once they see how Jason watches over you, they warm up to him.
Jason might even offer small gestures of kindness, like finding things in the woods for your sibling to play with.
Jason admires your strength and responsibility, seeing you as a protector like himself.
It forms a quiet bond between the three of you.
NORMAN BATES
Tumblr media
Norman is gentle and polite around your little sibling, offering to help with anything that might make things easier for you.
He’s fascinated by the idea of family dynamics and your role as both sibling and parental figure.
It reminds him of his relationship with his own mother, in a twisted way.
Norman tries to make things comfortable for your sibling, offering snacks or games to keep them occupied.
He’s surprisingly good at calming your sibling down during tantrums.
However, there’s always a sense of unease around Norman.
His overprotectiveness can feel stifling at times, especially when he becomes too involved in your sibling’s care, as though he sees you as part of his own family.
BILLY LENZ
Tumblr media
Billy is unpredictable, and your little sibling might be a bit nervous around him at first.
Billy has strange behavior, but he never intentionally tries to scare your sibling.
He doesn’t understand kids well, but once he realizes how important your sibling is to you, Billy makes an effort to be less creepy around then.
There’s a strange protectiveness that comes over Billy when he sees you caring for your sibling.
It’s almost like he’s trying to impress you by not being chaotic around the child.
He’ll watch your little sibling from a distance, occasionally making weird, quiet noises, but he’ll stay back unless you need help.
If anyone threatens you or your sibling, though, Billy’s unpredictable nature can quickly become dangerous.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a/n: YALL WANTED THIS BAD OMG so pt 2 to my before fic, basically it goes a little further back and a lot more in detail after his planet blew up :3. This one’s long! But Tysm :)
Past boothill x reader ft some headcannons. (Gender neutral w some fem indication later on)
forwards reckon rebound
--
-Boothill was a sweet kid, a little dumb at times but he always gave his effort. Always curious and helping out on his families farm, helping his dads with his siblings as hes the 3rd oldest .
-He never gave much trouble as a kid, always listening other than sleeping in more or sleeping on hay sometimes.
-his family wasn't made of money, but he always had everything he needed or want.
-Growing up with the idea girls had cooties...as he eats crayons.
-he learns guitar as he got one for christmas, he goes to the local church to learn how to play it. He'd bring his scuffed up cd player to show the teacher the songs he wanted to learn.
-His parents take him out every weekend, teaching him how to hunt, ride a horse or how to shoot a gun.
-he has a habit of looking off into the distance. Wide eyes as he looked off into the sunset wondering what was beyond his small family and tribe.
-He loves stories, often reading picture books at the library or getting one of his parents too read it to him before bed. As well as sneaking into his dads room to watch his shows, his favorite being of an outlaw.
-His family went to church once in awhile, but always went during christmas. Boothill hated dressing up, but he loved the songs. When he learned guitar would join as well, playing christmas songs.
-Everyone in town knew him, he was always making a name for himself.
--
-You'd show up in his life while he was in school, messily drawing on his math paper (instead of doing it) with his tongue out as the teacher announced a new student. As you were a new student in 3th grade, boothill being boothill would introduce himself as the class sheriff to impress you.
"I'm Boothill, the class sheriff! I keep everyone in line, and make sure they all do what they're supposed too!" he said in a confident tone puffing out his chest.
-Thats where it all began.
--
-the teacher put you beside him which made him often pout and utter that you had cooties, while he didn’t do his work.
-he often ‘patrolled’ during recess but in reality no one wanted to play with him. (Since he had two dads and he looked nothing like them) they didn’t like how different he was from them. So he decided to give you a shot, since you also only sat on the swing set.
‘Hey..’ he said with a slight frown ‘..I’m not busy today patrollin’ wanna play’ he asked looking away with a small dust of pink on his cheeks
‘..sure, you can push me’ you said perking up
-after that you’d always sit on the swing set together, as he’s talk about anything and everything. How he didn’t like waking up early, how his youngest sibling kicked him in the shin, his horse, how Nick complimented his shooting. He loved talking about his family
‘..maybe you should come over.. you’d like the meatloaf my daddy makes’ he said kicking his feet against the dirt ‘if you want too.. it’s a big White House with a barn ‘bout 10 minutes from town’
‘I’ll ask about it, I’d like to see your animals. All we have right now is chickens, and they get annoying’
You went to his farm, his family was happy he'd made a friend. That was the first of many visits!
--
-You two soon became inseparable as you grew older and closer, everyone in town knew when one was around the other probably was too.
-Always going to school festivals together, shopping, staying out at night, laying in fields at night looking at the constellations, coming home wet from splashing each other with water.
-It was a romance from the novels you read, the only part left was the confession. You often thought about it, 'maybe this week..' you'd think as another day went by and he hadn't confessed.
-Until that faithful day
-The sun was setting, it was a day like any other. He seemed a bit on edge but it was normal.
-
He was sitting up, his chin resting on his shoulder as he stared out at the cornfield near his house mindlessly. The sky a peachy tint as you laid on his sheets, looking up at him admiring his long hair and jawline. '...I like you" he said softly his gaze never leaving the window.
'really?' you couldn't believe it, finally it happened. 'I like you too, ya know' you replied still admiring his figure. His gaze meets yours and eventually his lips. The same lips that introduced himself in the past, chapped yet soft.
You'd never felt more in love.
-
-the next few weeks didn't change much, kisses here and there and he'd get more touchy. But he also spoke more about the future, how he wanted to either build or fix a older house. He wanted a small family, a farm and barn animals.
'I'd like to fix up that house at the end of town" he said leaning against the barn door looking off into the distance once more, as you looked over his barn cats kittens. 'You think you could?' you add standing up and leaning in front of him
'Yeah, make it all nice and pretty for you' and smile wrapping a hand around your waist. 'A pretty kitchen, cozy livin' room, big room..' he said with a small giggle kissing your nose.
'it'd be a dream baby'
-Soon after he told you he was dropping out of school, he was 17 and decided he didn’t need to further his education. And just help out his dads on the farm, while he scrapped together some money. You were mad, but understood he had a different path and mind than yours. Even if you tried arguing with him that he only needed 2 more years to graduate, he’d blow it off and just go fix his truck.
-but while you were at school getting educated (weirdo) he eventually fixed up the old house at the end of town he always spoke about. He’d also made a small ring, with a single stone on it. He could afford a real promise ring, but he thought this one was more special. Even carving their initials on it.
-one day when you both were old enough, and you were out of school be finally brought you to the home. And promising to stay by your side.
‘Your lyin’ you said looking at the delicate ring
‘..no? I want you to be by my side, while I save up for your weddin’ ring’ he said softly slipping it onto your finger.
‘Cause your my past present and future’ he said pressing pecks all over your face.
-soon you both lived together, slowly building your life on the farm, getting chickens, moving his horse from his family’s farm to your forever home. It was a dream all over again
-it was mundane, you would tend or the animals and boothill would fix things and do the heavy work or sometimes you’d do the heavy lifting and when he’d leave for a few days. At the end of the night you’d lay in bed together. You wouldn’t have it another way.
-when there wasn’t work done he’d sit out under a tree playing his guitar, watching you put his shirts on the clothes line. As he hummed and played love songs.
He’d sneak up on you snatching you into his arms and tackling you into the grass. As he admired your laughing face.
-19 was when he found the baby girl in the cold, lost in thought. When he heard the cry, and your lives changed once more. Now a family of 3.
-it was hard, you didn’t make much money. But his family had hand me downs, boothills old crib and toys. You’d sew her dresses, boothill would attempt at making hats and mittens for her as well.
They were always too big, and he’d say she’d grow into them while the girl sucked on the fluffy oversized mitten in his arms. Looking up at him with wide eyes, he wasn’t even 20 and he felt fulfilled.
-when she was a little older and starting to crawl around and walk a little, he carved her a small cherry wood guitar.
She couldn’t play it, but when he had his out he gave her the small guitar so she could ‘play’ along side him.
-he loved the days where he’d sit outside and the little one was waddling around picking up dandelions and handing them to him
‘Oh for me? Their so pretty darlin’’ he smiled softly ruffling the girls hair and letting her waddle around more as she babbled to herself.
-sometimes he’d think of leaving but
-it was all perfect, a house he’d fixed, a barn with animals, his perfect lover, a daughter, all he needed was to make it official. An engagement ring.
-he was saving for months, finally he had the money to buy the one you were eyeing at the store.
‘I’m going to the market’ he announced putting the bills in his wallet.
‘Can’t I join? I got a bad feelin’ Boothill, them ipc people don’t like the town’ you said.
He hesitated ‘it’s just my usual errand nothing special’ he replied kissing you. ‘I’ll be back take care of her for me’ he smiled kissing the girls cheek.
Only to return to ashes, he’d heard two workers joke about this very tragedy. He thought nothing of it. Not till he heard the explosions, and saw the flames. He couldn’t bring himself to go inside, he can’t imagine what it was like.
He couldn’t bring himself to tears, those twenty years he’d spend building his life with you gone.
The ashes of your once blue home, the farm on fire. He couldn’t bring himself to search for your bodies, he barely made it to find your family pictures.
He didn’t sleep, for 3 days and then he slept for 3 days straight. Before leaving behind two crosses over the sight.
And he finally left the planet, he spent a few months searching before he found a doctor that could help him.
He decided he needed to end his life, to kill his current self. Leave his past, and that’s exactly what he did. His mechanic fixed him.
All he remembers is the taste of metallic in his mouth and seeing his heart removed, as he died.
His rebirth into Boothill
Basically a yap session and excuse to talk ab him again after the 2.6 story line :P might add or not
Hope you enjoyed 😣

Heal Together: Chapter 1
(Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw fic)
I've been lurking on here for a while, reading Top Gun fics and I recently got inspired to write one of my own. Hopefully someone reads it and likes it!
Note about the format: Between every header is a change in the point of view :)
Summery: When Rooster was med-evaced back to San Diego from the mission field, the last thing he expected was to wake up with a tube down his throat and the most beautiful woman he's ever seen at his bedside.
Masterlist
Word Count: 2.1k
Tumblr media
“Hey Carly, I’m taking over for room 4 today. Are you ready to give report?” You ask the cute blonde night shift nurse, she looked about 12 years old. What in the hell was she doing in the ICU of a military hospital? Hell, you should be asking yourself the same question. You hated it here at this boys club where nurses were ignored as a female dominated profession, despite being the people who spend the most amount of time at the patient’s bedside in a 12 hour stretch. But you were only one week into this eight week travel assignment and the money was great, so you just had to grin and bear it and make as few enemies as possible.
“The census is low, is this gonna be your only patient?” She asked.
“Yeah.” You pulled out your report sheet and pen, “Let’s hope it stays that way.”
You could tell Carly was fresh off of orientation by how nervous she looked before beginning to speak.
“Hey,” You placed a comforting hand on her knee, “take your time, tell me what you know, and if I have any questions I’ll ask them when you’re done. You just finished a long shift, it’s okay to be a little out of it. We’ll get all the info we need together. No pressure, okay?”
“Okay,” Carly nodded and took a deep breath, “This is Lieutenant Bradley Bradshaw, 35 year old male, full code, no known allergies…”
You quietly took down the pertinent information about Lt. Bradshaw as Carly spoke. He was a pilot, recovered after a crash, and was stitched back together pretty well on the aircraft carrier, he went septic and was transported back to the states to your hospital. Pretty standard stuff. He was currently on a ventilator for breathing support but all seemed to be going in a positive direction despite the shitty circumstances.
Carly finished her report with a sigh of relief, you had a feeling the staff nurses weren’t as respectful when receiving report from a new graduate. “Any questions?”
“Any family  at the bedside?” You asked.
“No, no family. Apparently a guy named Pete Mitchell calls daily for updates, they’re not related but he’s included on the patient’s medical information release forms, so we can talk to him. Chart says he’s single, no siblings, and both parents have passed away.” Carly yawned, she was beginning to fade after a long night. You didn’t want to hold her up anymore than necessary, she needed to get home and go to bed.
“Okay,” You clicked your pen, “Sounds good. Let’s go check lines and meds so you can get out of here.”
She paused for a second as you got up from your chair at the nurses station, “Y/N… thank you for being so nice… I’m only a week off of orientation and things are still so new…”
You smiled at the compliment, “We’ve all been there. Every nurse on this unit was new at one point and I think sometimes they forget that. Hell, I’m a traveler and this is only my second week and there’s so much that’s new to me too. You’re doing great.”
You spent the first part of your morning before rounds with the care team just cleaning up the patient, organizing the room, all that good stuff. Though it wasn’t necessarily considered “professional”, you played some music softly from your phone as you worked. You found that music or just talking to patients on vents helped with agitation. You couldn’t imagine anything more tortuous than listening to repetitive beeping and alarms all day long and nothing else. Though most managers didn’t like it, that didn’t stop you. What were they gonna do? Fire you? Hospitals hire travelers at such a high price point when they’re understaffed and desperate. They needed you more than you needed them.
█ ✪ █▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓█ ✪ █
“When the sun goes down, we’ll be groovin’
When the sun goes down, we’ll feel alright
When the sun sinks down over the water
Everything is hotter when the sun goes down…”
Who the fuck listens to Kenny Chesney anymore? Rooster thought to himself.
He knew he was sick, the docs on the ship told him that before they knocked him out to shove the tube down his throat. They told him he’d be med-evaced back to San Diego because the hospital where he was overseas didn’t have the capabilities to take care of someone as sick as him. He didn’t know how long he had been there, all the days run together when you’re too weak to open your eyes. He was used to having things done to him, he was past the point of getting agitated about it, because he knew they’d just sedate him more.
“Alright, Bradshaw.” A confident voice said, “All of your lines are untangled, your room is clean, and your initial assessment is done… How about we have a little spa day? You’re smellin’ a little… ripe.”
RUDE!
“HA! You can hear me! You raised your eyebrows!” She giggled, damn it was a cute giggle. Rooster honestly hadn’t realized he was moving his face. But he believed her because that’s what his face usually does when he’s surprised. “You’ve been caught. No more playing dumb.”
Water started running, splashing, and the suction was turned on… that sound usually meant his mouth was gonna get cleaned and he was gonna feel something funny down his throat. He hated it.
“Carly told me you were getting agitated during mouth care last night. Since you can hear me, I’m going to tell you everything I’m doing, so don’t get sassy with me.” She said, “Deal?”
Anything for the first person not to treat me like a damn vegetable. This was the first time someone actually talked to him and told him what the fuck was happening since he got here. It was a welcome change.
The kind yet sassy voice interrupted his thoughts, “Okay, mouth care. I’ll be quick, I promise.”
She didn’t lie to him, she was quick and the stupid suction caused him minimal discomfort. Maybe it was because he could brace himself, or maybe it was because she was just really good at her job.
“I’m about to give you a full body bath, so how about we get to know each other a little bit.” She said as she adjusted his sheets and pillows to reposition him, placing a towel under his head, and rinsing his hair with warm water.
Rooster’s whole body relaxed.
“My name is Y/N Y/L/N and I’m obviously your nurse today and will probably be for the next few days…” Nurse Y/N went on about where she’s from, her hobbies, how she’s not making many friends in this new hospital she’s been contracted out to.
Welcome to the military, it’s a boy’s club. He wished he could say that to her. He imagined medicine was similar to aviation, full of egos.
Before Rooster knew it, his whole body had been washed from head to toe. He hadn’t felt this clean in what felt like years.
“So Lieutenant… not to be crude but… I gotta clean your bits. But at least we’ve really gotten to know each other.” Nurse Y/N said, “Your girlfriend will thank me later.”
Ha! Rooster laughed to himself, What girlfriend?! My dick hasn’t been played with in months!
Like with the mouth care, her cleaning was quick and respectful. And damn, being clean felt so good. She went on to change his gown, sheets, and blankets. Rooster truly felt like a new man.
“Lieutenant Bradshaw, you’ve never looked better.” She said with a satisfied sigh.
That’s a damn lie, but I’ll take the compliments wherever I can get them at this point.
“Hey Y/N,” Another female voice said, “They’re starting with you for rounds. Are you ready to present your patient or should I stall?”
“Nah, I’m ready. Tell them to come in whenever.” Nurse Y/N said, then her voice got low and she whispered to Bradley, “I’m gonna try to get them to lighten your sedation and move towards trials of turning the ventilator off. It’s not gonna be comfortable but the sooner we start working towards getting that tube out of your throat, the sooner you can get the hell out of here.”
Rooster wanted to make sure she knew he heard her and that he was on board, it took every ounce of strength in his body, but he nodded.
█ ✪ █▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓█ ✪ █
“No way.” The resident physician said simply after you gave your recommendation with your presentation of Lt. Bradshaw
You were dumbfounded. What the hell did he mean no?!, “This patient was more than ready to move towards extubation.”
“And what makes you the expert?” the resident asked.
Oh lord, this fresh out of med school asshole was turning rounds into a dick measuring contest.
“The fact that I’ve been at his bedside for the past three and a half hours, I assessed him, bathed him, turned him, and he is showing signs of progress. The next step is spontaneous breathing trials and extubation. The longer he stays on the vent, the more likely he is to get pneumonia, as we all should know, Doctor.” You explained coolly but made sure to add his (probably newly earned) title.
“I agree with…” The attending looked at you and scanned your badge, “... Y/N… What do you think from a Respiratory Therapy standpoint, Brent?” He looked over at Brent, the RT.
Brent smirked and narrowed his eyes at the resident, “I also think moving towards extubation is a good thing. If he has two successful trials, he could be off the vent by the end of the day.”
The attending physician nodded, “Then it’s a plan. And I think this is a really good lesson for the residents and medical students with us on rounds, the nurses know more about the patient than we do. We should always consider their recommendations because they have the most valuable view on the patient, simply because they spend time with them.”
You tried to dim the glow that was on your face.
“Thanks, Dr…” You scanned the attending’s badge the same way he did yours.
“Carter, Brendan Carter.” He extended his hand and you shook it, “Glad to have you here.”
That was the most welcome anyone had made you feel in the last week here. Who would’ve thought a wrinkly old attending doctor with dancing eyes would be the person to stand up for you and make you feel secure in your clinical decision making.

Rooster wasn’t sure how much time had gone by since Nurse Y/N told him she was turning down his sedatives but it felt like he could open his eyes almost instantly. It was so… bright. Once his eyes adjusted, he scanned his surroundings, the lights weren’t even on but the sun shining through the large window felt blinding. He looked to his left and saw the machine that the tube in his throat was attached to, the machine that had kept him alive for God knows how long. He looked to his right and saw multiple IV poles that attached him to lines and lines of medicine and fluid. Further to his right, he saw a woman standing at a computer, typing away furiously, her face was serious yet beautiful, was that Nurse Y/N?
“Good morning, Lt. Bradshaw.” She said quietly, “You’re still attached to your breathing tube, so you can’t talk. Now that you’re awake we’re one step closer to getting you off that thing. Sound good?”
Rooster nodded slowly, wishing he could thank her for everything. For talking to him, bathing him, treating him like a human-being.
“Do you feel strong enough to write?” She asked, “Can I get you a whiteboard?”
He nodded again.
“I’ll be right back.” She swiftly left the room.
Rooster couldn’t help but love watching her walk away. Along with a beautiful face, he could tell she had a great body hiding underneath those scrubs. It had been so long since he’d seen a pretty girl.
She returned quickly with a whiteboard and a marker, handing it to him, “What’s on your mind Lieutenant?”
Call me Bradley. He scribbled,
“Nice to meet you Bradley.” She smiled down at him, “How are ya feelin’?”
Better now that I’m clean and awake. He wrote.
“There’s something healing about a bath and being taken out of your drug induced sleep, huh?” She giggled.
Rooster nodded and started writing again, Thank you for everything.
“No biggie. I’m glad to see you doing so well. Is it okay if I do a full assessment on you, just since you’re awake now?” She asked.
He nodded, this girl could do anything she wanted to him. She was basically his angel.

Chapter 17 (Last)
Masterlist
A/N: Such a rollercoaster I had writing this one, even if it is not a sad ending, it's a kind of closure in a lot of ways. 🤧
However I think I got to the point I searched for, even took me more time than I expected. I hope you like it, it’s a long one so take your time.
Thank you for reading!🍒
Tumblr media
“Do you actually believe that?” I see my nephews walking inside of the house after long hours of playing with Max in a snowball war, rolling their eyes as they take out their gloves.
Max is sweating with a brightly red face, he seems like he just ran a marathon.
“Come on Max! If it weren’t for Checo that championship would be a different story.” She scoffed, walking next to the door to leave their jackets.
Max serves 3 cups of hot chocolate that mom just made.
“Besides, don’t take us wrong but…” My nephew sipped his chocolate. “Sometimes you’re not that nice.”
Max choke with his drink coughing for the bravery of a kid, they’re Hamilton after all.
I bite my lip for don’t laugh while observing the full scene in the hallway.
“Hey kids, what are you doing?” I appear making them run and screaming my name, crashing with me in a big hug. “Careful, careful, I have the cake in this.”
They smile while waiting as I leave the cake on the fridge, getting down for they hug me and give me a big kiss on my cheek.
“The birthday girl carrying her… our cake, have you seen that?” I say walking where Max is sitting to give him a quick peck.
Max smiles surrounding me with his arm around my waist.
“What are you doing? Besides sweating.” They chuckles looking at Max.
“Smashing him in a couple of wars.” She said taking small bags of snacks for the cupboard. “He’s kind of slow and reckless, aunt. The worst combination for a snowball war.”
Max mumbled some words, making them laugh. “Any mercy, huh?”
“They resemble someone… you know, a few months ago.” Max shakes his head.
I hit him softly on his arm, making him laugh.
Roscoe gasps pre announcing his entering, running quickly searching for his proper pats.
“Crike! Smelly around here.” Lewis enters with Nicola carrying the last bags for the birthday party of this afternoon.
Nicola hugs me and greets Max with a soft wave; he knows already won my parents' hearts, my siblings are a work in progress.
“Kids time to take a bath, your uncle is right, you're smelly.” She fakes a funny face after smelling their heads.
“All right all right.” They said in unison taking their things going upstairs to get ready.
Lewis smirks seeing Max sweating. “Hard battle?”
“Not my best day.” Max grip his hand around my waist.
“How do mom and dad get used to this?” Nicola took a seat where her kids were. “This is so weird.”
I roll my eyes. “The Dutch man is holding our sister by the waist so comfortably, in front of you?” Lewis sighs, giving Roscoe a snack.
“Have you seen them kissing?” He fakes a shiver. “I still have nightmares.”
I grab Max's hand seeing my siblings grabbing their abdomen for laughing so hard. “GOD! Let's go Max, you need a shower too.”
“Wait, wait, wait, he can go alone!” Lewis shouts as we walk outside the kitchen.
“I know.” I turned around as Max put his arm around my waist. “But… I will make sure he has all he needs.”
I wink at them seeing his mouth open.
“Y/N!” The loud shouts make us laugh.
Our birthday party was incredible. We don't know how my parents made it possible but there were authentic Kebabs, delicious ones.
One by one my brothers and sisters were enchanted by Max; by the end of the night we were sitting comfortably talking with them as the first hours of the morning reached us.
Sadly next morning we must leave, or at least split apart. Max needs to be in Milton Keynes for a few meetings and me along with Thomas must be in the shelter.
By the way Max keeps moving his eyes from one side to the other. I can notice he's a little bit disturbed by the fact my nephews seem a little bit hesitant with him. We spend a full week with them but they seem hard to conquer.
“Hey Max!” The sound of two little voices made us turn around.
“Just…” My niece stops for a second looking at my sister who just nods slightly. “We usually spend a few weeks in Italy in spring, playing some tennis.”
I smile, jostling Max who looks frozen in his spot. “If you're available, do you like joining us?” My nephew completed her sister's invitation.
Max is blocked for the way he just opens his eyes and a small smirk appears in his face.
“But if you feel unc….” They speak probably believing they say something wrong.
“Two against one?” I laughed and stuck to his side. “It seems fair.”
They scoff as they run to hug him, my nephew closes his eyes. “Please take care of her.”
I feel my heart in pain, even though we tried so hard to keep things away from them; there were days where they ran to me with bloated red eyes and broken voice.
“Don’t hurt her, you don’t.” My niece said tighten his grip around Max abdomen.
Max splits, going down to facing them. “She is all I ever want, I’ll be an asshole if I even think about it.” They laughed and nodded. “Still I’m afraid I have to ask you the same.”
I see Nicola who has a soft smile on her face and Lewis nodding.
“Will you keep it safe while me…” Max pretends to roll his eyes. “And your uncle are in the middle of the season.”
They giggle, ready to keep messing up with him. “Max, what do you think we've been doing?”
I laughed with my head backwards. extending my hand to Max. “Let’s go love, you only will get roasted every time.”
Max scoffs taking it as we walk to the car. As we headed to the airfield I saw that smile on his face.
“Are you happy, huh?” He tingles his finger with mine before kissing my hand.
“Give me a couple of months and I will surely be his favorite uncle.” He said raising his head, with a soft smile on my lips I stretched out to kissing his cheek.
By the time season begins, all started to be in his place.
We have a full competent team who will be in charge of the puppies and dogs that will arrive at the shelter, personnel that will be in charge to keep an eye on all I couldn’t and an amazing legal team.
It’s the end of the spring and the beginning of the summer causing some unusual rains, making the weather a strange combination between cold and humid.
The sound of the door barely distracts me from the computer. “Do you bring the dinner?”
Thomas and Mika are staying here for the weekend to have a break from their work in London; after all it wasn't a bad idea for the shelter to be here.
“Thomas?” I take out my glasses. “Mika?” Standing and walking to the door.
But a big <Boo> as Max lifts me from the ground scares me to death; Max giggles as he holds me tight, I bet he feels my heart beat going crazy.
“Fuck!” I whisper, closing my eyes before hitting his arm. “You scared me!”
Max put me down grabbing my face between his hands. “Sorry, but you know you should have locked the door when you’re alone.”
“I’m not alone Mika and Thomas are…” I close my eyes. “Where did you leave them?”
Max laughs, giving me a peck. “They’re having dinner in a beautiful restaurant. Don’t worry they will come back.”
He kissed me this time taking his time. “Very late.” He walks to the sofa but he doesn’t stop kissing me. “Fuck I miss you.”
I smile as he falls first with me straddling his lap keeping him closer as I surround his neck with my arms.
Next morning I woke up earlier, coming out of the bed carefully from not waking up Max.
“Morning, morning.” Mika is already in the kitchen making breakfast. “How do you sleep?” She smirks as I sit on the stool.
I roll my eyes. “We didn’t hear you coming.” Thomas appears in the kitchen with fruit in a paper bag.
“We just arrived.” Thomas said wink at me. “We need privacy too.” Also gives me my computer. “They need the photos for today.”
I curse low, remembering I left that unfinished, they smile at me before kissing each other softly.
After 15 minutes Max came down too, kissing my cheek, whispering, I love you.
“Morning everybody.” Mika and Thomas are taking breakfast to the dining room.
“Nah, give her 5 minutes more, we need this for today.” Thomas said, crashing hands with Max who perks to my computer.
The photoshoot of Roscoe with the crew of the shelter, and a lot more of him, must be categorized by today; the ones which will be used for promotion, the ones who will be in the inauguration and the ones Lewis paid just because he loves Roscoe.
Max chuckles, kissing the top of my head. “Coffee?”
I nod giggling for the fact he won’t challenge Thomas' warning.
“Hey, hey, one second.” Max turns around before going to the coffee machine. I pull him from the front of his shirt, kissing him. “Better.”
Max's cheeks turned red as a loud growl of Mika faded away.
After breakfast Thomas and Mika decided to go and spend the day out; Max and I decided to stay inside avoiding curious eyes.
“I almost forgot.” Max stands from the living room going to his suitcase, bringing back a folder.
“What is this?” He gave it to me, and I took out the permission papers?
“You said if I want you back to the paddock.” He sits next to me. “What a foolish question by the way.”
I giggled pushing him softly. “I must fill out the correct papers and get permission.”
I laughed covering my face with the papers. “Jeez!”
“So, here they are.” I read it, actually papers from a permission.
“Spa?” I see him nodding. “Why Spa?”
Belgium is in 3 weeks, next week he must be in Austria, I was expecting he wanted me there.
“Just because.” He shrugged his shoulders. “I mean yeah, Austria, whoo, but I will love having you in Spa.”
I click my tongue. In three weeks, I expect to spend the weekend helping my mom plan a dinner for my parents' anniversary .
“Come on lifje! You already left me to ditch in Montreal.” Max mentioned too that he expected to assist Montreal but we were in the middle of a review.
“I don’t promise anything, I will try my best.” Max sighs rolling his eyes.
“If I don’t have another choice.” Max laid backs crossing his arms over his chest.
“It’s ok, go.” I look at my mother as we walk around the backyard with Jewel and Roscoe following us.
“Come on darling, you planned a whole shelter traveling, a small dinner for friends and family must be a piece of cake.” I shake my head seeing Jewel trying to jump over Roscoe trying to grab his collar.
That night when I video called Max, he raised his fist like he just won another race.
“Great!, I’ll see you there.” He said as he sits on the sim
“Hold on, hold on.” I choke with my tea. “There?”
Max giggles. “You’ll know what it feels like to wait for your loved one to arrive.” Max sat properly with a big smile on his face.
I narrowed my eyes, and any sharp comment came to my brain.
“I have to go lifje, see you in a couple of weeks.” The red face from the Dutch man dared to wink at me.
Even though my main plan was to arrive the race day I couldn’t wait to see him. I landed the day of practice; immediately the cameras were right to my face the moment I got out of the car.
Its been months since I've been in a race, obviously speculations about Max and I breaking up couldn’t wait, but we just ignore it.
The incessant questions about my presence and which garage I will go to makes me giggle.
“You like to cause a lot of noise around here.” Alexa met me in the entrance of Ferrari, Leo in her arms.
“Hi for both of you.” Alexa giggles as she gives a quick hugh.
She points to my pass. “Which colour is it?”
I pet Leo's head as he licks my hand. “This time.” I turn it around. “Black one.”
If Max makes me wait, I decided to make him wait too.
“Such a mean girl.” I wink at her crossing the street to the Mercedes hospitality, where girls and men giggle, as they shake their heads the moment they see me.
I found Rosa coming out of Lewis' room. “What are you doing here? I thought you would be in that building.”
She points to the last hospitality of the paddock with a weird expression on her face.
“Hey, hey, hey.” Lewis came out of the room dressed for the first practice. “I knew you were coming but I expect you'll steal from here.”
I hug him as I answer. “I’ll be, but he’s messing up with me.”
Lewis shakes his head as we walk to the garage. “He never learns.”
Rosa completes the phrase. “Never mess up with a Hamilton.”
As soon as a camera caught me in the Mercedes garage the news started to fly all over the place and internet, with the strong suspicion that me and Max already broke up. The fire only increased when Mercedes posted a photo of me chatting with George and Lewis.
  >Keep it in the family. 👍
I bet when Max finally paid attention to all the noise, he called me, but I let it pass a couple of times; until the end of the day, where we crossed our paths on his way back to the hospitality.
I pretend to pass next to him, but he definitely knows how to end my games. He finds the way to grab my hand among the cameras and reporters; I can hear the complaints of his team, but by the way his eyes seem on fire, he has a clear determination.
Max whispers so close to my face as he grabs my face and my waist. “With spirit of play, huh? Let me cut it out.”
I only have time to giggle before he kisses me with a smile on his face, if it weren’t for the sunglasses all the people would notice how surprised I am by his bold way of kissing me.
Flashlights and gasp is the only thing I hear and see when we split, but Max couldn't care less.
When qualy ends people notice a change of behavior in Max, even I start to worry about seeing him so anxious/cheerfully. He finished in the first place still he’s unable to stay still, literally.
“What's wrong with him?” Alexa asked me as we stood outside of the conference room watching the T.V.
Max is smiling but it’s fake by the way he keeps moving in his place, even Checo is looking at him weirdly as Charles pretends not paying attention to him.
“I have no idea.” I said, crossing my arms over my chest. “I’ll find it out later, I guess.”
Alexa nods, walking away with Leo, leaving my mind and my trying to decipher the man in blue moving one more time in his place.
After he finished all his to-do list, I was waiting in his room, entertained with the remaining fuss of the kiss of two days ago.
“Sorry, late improvement takes more time.” I see him with his race suit at his  waist and a big black jacket.
“Oh, it’s ok, I’ll go and let you work, don't worry.” I stand when I notice the other black jacket on his hand.
He follows the direction of my eyes. “No, no, we’re already finished, teams already leave but…” He bit his lip. “What about a sunset walk?”
“It’s starting to get cloudy, and it will probably rain.” I said looking at his back, where you still can see sunlight but the weather is getting humid.
“Since when does the rain trouble you?” Max rolls his eyes walking right to me.
“I’m not saying this for me, I don’t want Marko to blame me for potentially getting you sick.” I grabbed his arms when he put his hands over my waist.
Max clicks his tongue. “I’ll take charge of that.” He kissed my nose. “Let’s go.”
I was about to complain but he helped me to put on the jacket, every time I tried to speak he gave a peck on my lips.
I expected a lot of judgmental faces when we came out of the room, however we found an empty garage, I didn’t say anything because outside of the garage I found a few members of different teams carrying things to the exit.
“So, where are we going?” I asked him when he started to walk to the track, his hand gripping mine tight.
“To the curve 10.” He said, with his cap covering his eyes it’s hard to guess what is in his mind.
I nod, as we walk he keeps asking me questions about the inauguration of the shelter in a couple of months, and I gladly answer. He told me hears me talk is something he loves, because he usually does the talking.
When the flashing light of another thunder sparks the sky, I looked around, at this point of the track no one is here. “I think we should come back, I really  don’t want you to get sick in the middle of the season.”
Max pulls me as his arm goes around my neck but we keep walking.
“Do you remember what happened in Spa a year ago?” He asks as we start to see the lines of the track that indicate the curve is close.
I giggle. “Barely.” I remember every little important thing.
“I gladly help you to remember.” Max sighs like he’s about to say a presidential speech. “A year ago, you useless tried to put me away, telling me you’re not coming back to the races and you didn’t like me at all, then in a desperate measure…”
I stand in front of him grabbing his neck with my hands. “You confess to me, I bet you wanted to kiss me like now.” His eyes move to my eyes then to my lips. “I liked you from that moment too, I just… I had my fears.”
Max nods but he doesn't kiss me, we keep walking. “Why bring this up now?”
I saw it, in curve 10, a lot of umbrellas at both sides of the track from different sizes and colours stand with our favorite colors.
“Max.” I pout seeing all the decorations.
“There must be lights too, but with the rain coming we’re afraid to cause a mess.” Max said as we approached the umbrellas.
“It’s perfect, and what a view.” You can see the sun hiding behind the track tinted with red and deep blue the sky due to the clouds.
I passed my arms around his neck to kiss him. “I love you so much, you know that?”
His eyes are conflicted. “You’re going to break up with me?”
“NO!” I knew he wouldn't but it was the only way he finally saw me to my eyes. “It just… Ok, don’t freak out.”
I take a few steps back still holding his hand.
“I know we talked about taking things day by day, believe me I know, but…” He takes a graceful golden ring out of his pocket from his jacket.
I hiss, making him worry as he grips my hand. “I… not in a way of proposal, just because I want to make a promise and a commitment.”
I narrowed my eyes to him. “You have a lot of necklaces and damn it, Lewis always gives you a bracelet for your birthday every year…”
“You can say, you want to give me a ring.” He gets down his head making me giggle. “It's ok, I panic because it takes me by surprise but I got it.”
Max put his hands on my waist. “It would be so lame a simple dinner, you know.”
“It’s been a tough year, huh?” I scrunch my nose getting lost in my own mind as I see the gray clouds closer and closer.
“It couldn't be better.” Max words bring me back to the moment. “Yeah a little bit of craziness on the way but, can you look at us for a moment?”
He extends his arms. “I have the girl I never knew I wanted and needed in my arms in the middle of one of the most impressive tracks of the season, as she tells me how much she loves me, making me feel above one of those clouds.”
I scoff, grabbing his arms. “Fuck, Y/N I love you like anyone on the world.”
For the way Max touched my face a tear was already falling down.
I hide my face in his chest as he kisses the top of my head, feeling overwhelmed in the good way.
“That means you will never give me that kind of ring?” Max laughs and vibrates next to my head in his chest.
“That means, I'm ready if you ever be ready.” I see right to his eyes with indiscernible tears on his face.
“Thanks.” He gives me a soft peck. “But I believe you should put that ring on my hand, you know?”
Max shakes his head giggling as he grabs my right hand putting the finger.
“Perfect.”
A few drops start to fall, the dark clouds are turning in a clear gray.
“Let's go, I don't want you sick. Who will I kiss at the end line?” That was enough for Max to grab my face and kiss me slowly, letting us feel our lips against each other.
“Never worry about that.”
A couple of years ago, I swear such love was only something you can see in the movies, after Caleb only made that statement stronger.
Until a f1 driver came in a race car crashing one by one my walls at the same time, with so much care making sure he wouldn't leave any dust of doubt in the way. Without a warning I am staring at my own movie, feeling loved and protected.
Walking back to the garage Max got distracted with the sunlights peeking through the clouds, as I took a few steps ahead of him.
This is about unexpected decisions after all.
“Max!” I scream, making him turn around as the drops turn in gradually intensifying rain. “Keep me busy.”
Max choked his head when I showed him my left hand, the ring finger with the gold ring in it.
Max blinks a couple of times as he walks closer making the distance short where he can clearly see the ring.
A huge smile on his face with red cheeks, and probably a cursing word in Dutch was the only thing he could do before crashing our lips together one more time.
“Don’t play games with me, lifje.” He removed a little bit of the beanie from the jacket to see my eyes.
“I do. I will marry you if you ask me…” He doesn't take another word from me, he kisses me again and again.
“I love you. Trust me, if you think the shelter will keep you busy, I have a lot of things in mind for us.” He says as he sees my hand, and the rain starts to soaked our clothes.
My most precious moment, a shared moment under the rain.
“Y/N Hamilton, will you marry me?”

hello ! could you write some headcanons for what xander would be like as a boyfriend ? :0 thank you !!
boyfriend xander hawthorne headcannons
thankyou for the req!! i love writing for xander sm, he’s so 💖 wc: 980
Tumblr media
dating xander felt like living through a 2000s romcom, or like reading those books you’d read in middle school, wishing you could have a love like the books. he was perfect all around.
when you guys are apart for long, he sends flowers along with a letter to you every time without fail. they’ll sometimes be short, saying how much he misses you, or they’ll be pages long.
you guys are that couple at school, the one everyone wants for themselves or either wants to be. your relationship isnt secret, it’s private. everyone knows you’re together and literally in love, but it’s not like you parade it around, kissing in the hallways.
xander doesn’t shy away from PDA.
he's quite tall, so forehead kisses are very frequent.
quick pecks are also good with him, whatever you’re comfortable with, he is too.
if you’re not one for PDA, he totally respects that, and just loves you 10x extra in private.
he’s always buzzing with energy, so he often finds himself fiddling with your fingers, tracing patterns on your arm, or playing with your hair.
his love language is everything!!
your friends and parents say you started to talk like xander.
you didn’t believe it yourself until you caught yourself rambling on about a food you love, not once stopping for breath.
speaking of your parents, xander tries to act more responsible in front of them, and it kills you.
the second they leave, you’re a laughing mess.
“did you call my dad sir?”
“yes..?”
the way you’re the only person in the world who could ever make xander speechless, or at a loss for words.
one time, you guys had a fight, as all couples do, about something so stupid you barely even remember. all you know is you regret it.
what happened after it, though, you’ll never forget. he literally threw rocks at your window and stood outside with a boombox playing songs from your joint playlists. your parents and siblings were out of the house, thank god, because you’d never be able to live that one down.
you went — no, you sprinted down the stairs and to the backyard where he was standing—and shouted atop the music, “what are you doing!?”
as you neared him, you noticed a big poster on the floor that said, “i’m sorry!!”
you also noticed the music was literally murdering your eardrums. when you were in front of him, he turned it off and lowered the boom box on the floor.
“xander, what are you doing here.” you cross your arms over your chest and look up at him.
“i’m sorry, i’m an idiot, i don’t know what’s wrong with me, when it comes to you, all i want to do is the right thing, but sometimes it comes out in weird ways and they do the opposite of what i actually intended,” he continues talking, but if you’re being honest, you tuned it out. you noticed he was nervous, and all you wanted was to make it go away.
in the middle of his rambling, you just hugged him. he immediately stopped talking, and his arms were stuck to his sides for a split second. when he realized what was happening, he hugged you back as tight as ever.
“i love you so much, i never want to fight again,” you mumbled into his shoulder.
“i love you.” he kissed the top of your head, and you fell into a comfortable silence, saying all the words you couldn’t say yourself. you stayed hugging for another minute or so, swaying side to side a little.
that was until your arms started cramping and you both started laughing about it as you walked to your room, the fight long forgotten.
xander is such a cuddler!!
you’ll fall asleep with your head on his chest and wake up in a random position. usually with his arm around your waist bringing you closer, and his head nuzzled in your neck. sometimes, he even manages to sleep horizontally across the large bed.
he’s gotten so used to sleeping in the same bed as you that when you’re not there, he can’t sleep for hours.
same goes for you; you pretend your pillows are xander and cuddle with them instead.
dates with xander are always something fun. on your first date, he bought out a theme park for the day, and you spent the day there. the automatic pictures they take on the rollercoasters are displayed in both of your rooms. he once said they were his most prized possessions, after you.
“not that you’re my possession; of course, you’re your own person, and you’re an independent woman, if anything i’m your possession, you’re the boss - you’re the bomb dot com!”
he crouches down to kiss you if you can’t reach him, that, or he picks you up.
one time your friends asked you what time it is, and you immediately looked to xander. “don’t say it,” you already knew what he was about to say. “well how can i not say it?”
“xander…”
“guys i’m only asking for the tim-“ your friend begins to speak, only to be cut off by the phrase you were hoping your boyfriend wouldn't say.
“-it’s time to get a watch!” xander started laughing at his own joke while you and your friend just stood there, before joining in on his laughter, mostly because it was so unfunny that it was funny.
later on in the day, you were hanging out in xander's room, sitting on his bed, when you reminded him of his joke earlier.
“you’re so corny,” you say as you playfully hit his shoulder.
“you’re the farmer to my corn,” he points at your shoulder back, with a grin split across his face.
when you don’t respond and just look at him blankly, because you’re about to burst into laughter, he continues:
“what? no? you’re the peanut butter to my jelly? you’re the apple of my eye? you’re the “she” to my “nanigans?””
“oh my god,” you start giggling like a madwoman and lay your head across his lap. “i can’t with you,”
“oh, but you so can.”

I just thought what type of personality is thier child like and what type of dad they are.
Example: Daniel's child will be a chubby child like he is, probably shy and cute child. Daniel would be a dad that give confident to his child so they won't exprience hardship like and also both of them will have a shenanigans of eating in the middle of the night.
Gun's child would be mini Gun but doesn't look for fight like his dad. You can say the child is more of gentleman than Gun tendency. The child probably be like "Mom, How and why did you marry dad" Points at thier father who is rampaging in fight.
Thanks for the ask Sam and sorry it's taken so long 😭
Agree with your HC altho I wonder if Daniel might swing too much the other way being a health nut (after all the bullying and Lookism) and you would have to help him find a happy medium??
Lookism Boys as dads + what their kid is like
Wow that's a mouthful. HC for Jake Kim, Samuel Seo, Warren Chae, Goo Kim, Ryuhei Kuroda, Eugene, Vasco, Zack Lee, Johan Seong
General HC
Most would take after their dad and be at least adept with fighting
Unless specified they would turn out pretty ok. We all know the flaws these men have (except Jake he can do no wrong 🙏) so the coparent needs to balance that out
Jake and Samuels kids would be bff, much to chagrin of Samuel lol. He ends up seeing Jake far too much for his liking but his kid is happy so what can he do
Warren's kid and Yenna bff. Duh
Goo's and Ryuhei's hate each other at first. Always getting each other into trouble. Until. Wow, think of the chaos we can cause TOGETHER
Gun's kid IMO would probably get on with someone like Eugene's. But would be hilarious if they got swept into the Vasco/Zack/Johan dynamic
Eugene's is a bit of a loner. All the fancy upbringing means they have connections and networks rather than close friends 😔
Vasco's, Zack's and Johan's would be like siblings. Constantly pick on and insult each other. They're allowed to. But if someone joins in - WTF DID YOU JUST SAY?? YOU WANNA FIGHT?
Jake Kim
As a dad
Listen. I don't know whether my levels of delusion are way off with this man but he can do no wrong. He would be the best dad, best househusband. He would be harsh but fair and sooo much fun. Unfortunately your kid would be spoilt rotten with all the Big Deal Uncles and Auntie.
The kid
Like father like son/daughter. Absolute unwavering sense of right and wrong, maybe sometimes not too understanding of the shades of grey. A confident kid and heartbreaker - not purposely tho but their rizz will be off the charts like their dad. Of course a natural born leader. That runs in the family too.
Warren Chae
As a dad
Oof. If you thought he was protective over Sally then you have another thing coming. Needs a bit of talking around to give them their freedom and experiences. Apart from that you really can't complain. Warren has an infinite amount of patience. Also reads to them all the time to stop himself missing out words.
The kid
The cutest kind-hearted little soul! Would just be so nice and sweet! Super well adjusted and surrounded by loving adults (Hostel), and also Grandpa Manager Kim. Yknow the kids who are also constantly dirty? Like constant speck of dirt on their face? Yeah also that.
Samuel Seo
As a dad
It might be better if you're a single parent because he is gonna pass on some gnarly generational trauma. Your child will either end up like a mini-Samuel or fingers crossed there will be shitloads of therapy (for daddy and child).
The kid
Strives for perfection, and super ambitious. There's no avoiding some traits. Another natural leader, but rules less with an iron first than Sammy. Would be vain af, and looks after their appearance a LOT. A bit shallow and judgemental but will eventually grow out of it.
Goo Kim
As a dad
Shrewd af and always knows what's going on. Good luck to their kid because there is no lying to Goo. He'll play along and then drop the hammer. However, a bit too lenient so you would have to be the disciplinarian. Lets the kid just get on with things and learn by experience. "Oh you wanna play with the sword? Have fun!" "GOO NO-!"
The kid
Little shit. Sorry there's just no way they wouldn't be a mouthy little asshole. Goo would make sure they respect the parents, but otherwise they are a danger to society. A troublemaker. Figures out all the loopholes to any rules and laws... A constant headache but you can't help but be impressed.
Gun Park
As a dad
Does a lot of research before their kid is born. This guy is pretty thorough with things he is interested in, so if he's taking an active part in the kid's life then he will be meticiulous. Initially. Then, like Goo, will let their kid make their own mistakes. Otherwise, very hands on, doesn't believe in outdated parental roles. After all, this is Gun's ultimate masterpiece.
The kid
Christ. This kid could be the most intimidating child to have ever lived. Not as intense as their dad, but they are playing 5D chess while everyone else is just learning their shapes and numbers. They're cocky and confident, with the skills to back it up.
Ryuhei Kuroda
As a dad
Extremely similar to Goo imo. Would also love to embarrass the kid. Not purposely mind, just he can't keep his hands off or kissing you and no kid needs to see their parents so grossly in love.
The kid
An absolute menace, just like their dad. Huge prankster, mostly harmless. Don't get them together with Goo's kid because jfc they would be absolute terrors together. Unlike their dad in his youth, they would respect the shit out of women. You've seen to that.
Eugene
As a dad
Probably a little cold and severe, putting a bit too much emphasis on grades and perfection. Despite that, would actually be pretty good. Someone that reads up a lot on how to raise a kid, bonding with them etc etc. to form a somewhat healthy relationship.
The kid
Private school little wunderkind. Will grow up with the absolute best of everything and spoilt too so you would need to keep them grounded. Expected to take over Workers. Business acument and ambition will be drilled into them from an early age.
Vasco
As a dad
What is there to say about Tabasco that we don't already know. Would dote on them hand and foot. An absolute pushover! Their kid pulls out the puppy eyes and it's game over. Would teach them to protect themselves but probably draw the line at anything more.
The kid
Really creative? Vasco would place less emphasis on grades and would help to nurture their interest in the arts. But actually super smart too thanks to Uncle Jace's influence. Tbh I think the kid would be pretty perfect and with the kindest heart and stands up to bullies just like dad!
Zack Lee
As a dad
So so similar to Vasco. Has all these ideas on what they should and shouldn't do as a parent. Kid pops out, and Zack's a goner. Literally would do anything and everything for their child. Go absolutely crazy with pride if the kid is interested in boxing.
The kid
Would have no game... Like dad. Sorry. Good job they would be good looking af to even it out. Not a huge emphasis on education and grades thanks to Zack's influence. More focused on athletics. A little shallow and arrogant, but a huge softy underneath.
Johan Seong
As a dad
Panic and anxiety from the day their kid was born and every day after. First because of worrying about their eyes, second because he's just not comfortable with having an actual dependent. Tries to teach them about the evils of the world. Eventually chills out overall and reverts back to being the gentle-hearted boy he used to be.
The kid
For practical reasons, taught braille from an early age just in case. But otherwise a mini-Johan but without the trauma. Very softly spoken and sweet. Just an absolute ray of sunshine. Always accompanied by their dog, their bff and partner when a fight arises.

Hey!!!! You should uhhh infodump about your FNAF AU, that would be really cool. If you want. Especially stuff about Vanessa maybe, she's my girl
Hi! Thanks for the ask! I always wanted to infodump abt this but I never found an outlet!!
Tumblr media
Gregory Alavarez
12 years old
Argentinian
Vanessa offered to get him a haircut, but he preferred the messy shaggy hair
Has amnesia about his past life; he doesn’t remember his parents
Vanessa caught him trying to pierce his own ears, later she took him to a proper piercer.
When asked why he got the piercing, he said it was to match Freddy
Has a tough bad-boy exterior, but he's softer when in Cassie, Vanessa and Freddy’s company
Has like really good grades, he's a smart kid.
Has a lot of sleepovers with Cassie where they just chill playing video games and doing each other's makeup and nails
He also likes drawing and programming
He gets night terrors, and a lot of nightmares of memories that aren't his
He also HATES the dark, and he's a little bit claustrophobic
Owns a TON of Freddy merch and he decorates his bedroom with it
He sees Freddy as a parental figure, but he’s too shy to express it.
Is GGY/patient 46
Vanessa Alvarez
24 years old
Inspired off of her first poster where she had wavy hair and freckles (I just added a tooth gap bc I thought it looked cute.)
Lesbian
Has little recollection of her time as Vanny, Afton put her to sleep most of the time- but she's had visions and physical scars.
Pre-help wanted: her personality was bubblier, she had hobbies like baking, gaming and cosmetics.
Post-security breach: she’s more on the quiet side, she can get anxious and depressed at times. But shes keeping her head up for Gregory (and she’ll learn to do so for herself as well).
As for hobbies: She likes to read now, and she still bakes occasionally
Can be unintentionally rude sometimes
Her parents are deceased (backstory later ...*wink wink*)
She lived at the Pizzaplex for a while, but after the savior ending she got a brand-new apartment to start things over.
Vanessa and Valerie (tape girl) were romantically involved at some point, but were torn apart by glitchtrap
Freddy and Gregory live with Vanessa in her new apartment
Vanessa has legally adopted Gregory, but their dynamic is more sibling-like than it is parental.
Glamrock Freddy
His immobility slightly bothers him, not being able to express himself properly is the worst part of being just an animatronic head.
Vanessa and Gregory like taking him on road trips to see more of the world, so much so that Freddy considers traveling as one of his hobbies
Vanessa and Gregory connected him to the internet so he's basically like Alexa now (he's just sentient)
Him and Bonnie are long lost lovers (he hardly talks about it though)
He's become a reliable source of advice for both Gregory and Vanessa
Freddy is the peacemaker/glue/dad in the group
Vanessa has been working for a while to make a body for Freddy, though the lack of parts available for him has slowed things down. They resorted to stealing from warehouses and recycling everyday items to create a makeshift body for him. Though it's only halfway completed in the present.
He's really good at singing. Oftentimes, he finds himself singing lullabies to Gregory or singing along to tunes during road trips.
He misses his friends a lot of the time, and he’s still a little frustrated with Gregory for treating them with cruelty.
Dislikes conflict/ likes seeing the bright side of things

Swan Lake
Noah x ballerina reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will never forget the way I was feeling at that stage in front of all those people. My parents and siblings in first row, watching me with eyes full of tears and pride. I got the lead role in Swan Lake at the age of 16 which was seen as big accomplishment in ballet world. In that moment I felt happy, proud of myself and stronger than ever. But that didn’t last long.
Just a seconds after the big red curtain was closed and me and other dancers went in the direction of our changing room, I heard my name being called. Screamed, actually.
I turned around to see our trainer speed walking to me. I quickly went over the whole play in my head. What did I do wrong? I couldn’t think of anything, I felt good. She found million reasons to tell me I was a bad choice for playing the lead role, that I’m too fat and I won’t play on the next date.
That was it. That night I told my parents I’m done with ballet and I’m quitting immediately. My mother was ballet dancer too, we talked a lot about how hard it was for me lately, so she agreed with my decision and went to talk to my trainer. I packed my things and never saw that woman again. That felt like a big rock fell off my shoulders. That was 10 years ago.
-
“What are you thinking about?” Noah asked, his hand gently placed on my thigh as we were driving to my family home for Saturday lunch with my family.
“It’s 10 years anniversary of me ending my ballet career. I was thinking about it a lot recently.”
“Thinking about as?” he waited for my response as he didn’t really understand how I feel about it.
“As I miss it, I guess. I was thinking about talking with my mom about it today. Also I looked up some ballet classes in our area. But I don’t know, it was just a silly idea.” I shrugged it off.
I never really talked with Noah about my ballet career. I told him I did ballet for 14 years and quit for mental health issues. I mean, it’s very much known how the ballet industry works, so he understood. I have very mixed feelings about getting back into it at my age, so I haven’t told anyone yet.
I tried to stay healthy and fit, I sometimes go to open dance classes and sometimes I try some ballet steps. I still got it. I am a lucky one, I still have good stretches and I learn steps quickly. I just got bored of doing it only in our living room.
“Really? That’s not a silly idea, it’s actually a really cool idea. Did you find any good places?” I was surprised with Noah’s excitement. He is very supportive of everything I do, but I guess I expected different reaction.
“I like two ballet studios. They have some good teachers and also open classes, just for hobby attendance. One is on Mondays and the other one is on Thursdays, so I can try both and then see which one I like more.”
“Are you signed up already?”
“No, I am not sure Noah. It brings up lot of bad memories, 10 years ago it got me into a really bad place and I’m scared it’s going to be the same this time.” I felt tears coming as I thought of little 13 years old me crying through the whole night, because I was told I’m fat for ballet. That I’m not good enough. That I’m too tall to be a ballerina. That my skin is too pale. That I got in just because of my mother. That I’m never going to make it.
Those memories make me feel little and so vulnerable.
“I’m sure it will be great honey. If you miss it, then you should try it. But it’s your decision, okay? I don’t want to push you into anything. Take your time to think about it, talk with your mom and you will see what’s her opinion on this, right?” he brought his hand that was holding mine in it to his lips and placed small kisses against my palm.
“Thank you.” I shot him a smile which he gladly returned.
-
I loved days like today, spending time with my family. All of them love Noah, so after we have lunch, we are usually both separated and have conversation with someone else. Firstly, I talked to my siblings about college and their new internships, while Noah talked with my dad about new music and their upcoming Europe tour. My dad absolutely loves Bad omens and I am sure he is their biggest fan. When my family visits for shows, he never wants to be in the backstage, watching the show from safe space. He always goes in the crowd, which makes my mum crazy scared every single time.
I used this as a chance to talk to mom about the ballet thing that was going around in my head.
“Mom do you mind coming with me outside for a minute?”
“Of course darling.”
We took our coffees with us as we made our way to the garden and sit on the big couch that my parents had there for my whole life. That thing is going to outlive all of us.
“What is it darling?”
“What do you mean?” I tried to hide my worries, but my mom knows me too well.
“I know when my baby is worried about something. What is it? Is it Noah? Are you sad he’s going to leave for tour soon?”
“Oh no, well, yes that too, but it’s not the first time, that will be okay. It’s something I wanted to talk about especially with you.” I played with the cup in my hands and avoided the topic as long as I could.
“Come on hon, spit it out.”
“I was thinking about getting back into ballet.” I said and kept my eyes low, focused on the green grass. I looked up just because my mom wasn’t saying anything. “What? Are you going to say something? I don’t know what this face means.” I was honestly so confused with the way her face was looking at me. Was she happy about? Sad? I couldn’t tell.
“Well, I was expecting this much sooner than now.”
“What?”
“I always thought you will want to get back to it at some point in your life hon. You loved it. Aside from those ugly things, you loved ballet. I was so angry at that woman who ruined for you.”
“Why did you never say anything?” I was so confused. She was waiting for this for years and never talked about it with me?
“Because it’s your decision, not mine. I didn’t want you to think I was disappointed with you or pushing you back into it. Did you think of where would you start with classes? And would you want to take part in plays again?” She was right. It is just mine decision and with everything she saw me go through I understand she was worried.
“I found two studios near our home that look good. They have weekly open classes that I was thinking about. But I wanted to talk with you first about it.”
Then we fell into long dialogue about everything connected with be going back into ballet. My mom gave me a courage to at least try it. She said my eyes lit up when I talked about the good memories I had from my child age. She also told me that I am more mature than I was back then and even if I don’t think I can handle it, I can. And she was right.
I’m a grown woman now, I can handle myself and protect myself. It’s also just open class for everyone who wants to try ballet, there will be no judgement.
-
“I’m going to try it.” We left my parents house later than expected, so it was dark outside when we were driving back.
“The open classes? Did you talk with your mom about it?”
“Yes and she said I should give it a chance. So I guess I won’t be home on Monday evening.”
“Can I go watch you?” Noah asked.
“What?” I returned him a question, not knowing what he meant.
“I mean I never saw you do your ballet thing and you will be wearing those ballet outfits and I’m sure that will be hot.” He said as if it was obvious fact that I should’ve known.
“You’re not being serious right now, are you?” I tried to hold my laugh in at his innocent clueless face.
“Well I’m not, but I would really like to see your little ballet outfit for sure.” He turned his face to you so you could see his smirk.
“Sure, watch the road you perv.”
-
It had already been a month since I started going to open classes in the studio I chose after the first week. I chose the one closer to our home, their dance rooms were bigger and more modern and our teacher was a lovely girl, possibly my age.
And it felt amazing. It felt like I was alive again. Don’t get me wrong I loved my life with Noah, my work and everything, but this felt like the missing piece.
While I was changing into my clothes after today’s class, our teacher Molly came to talk to me.
“Listen Y/N, I know you said you have bad experience and memories with professional ballet, but we have few spots open in our semi professional group and I thought you’d be great candidate. I see you’re learning faster than anyone in your class and I’m scared you would get bored after a while. There will be auditions, but I can get a word in for you and see if you could skip them. Just think about it and let me know as soon as you decide please.”
That night I came running home to share that news with Noah.
“WHERE ARE YOU?” I screamed just seconds after I opened the door.
“Studio.”
When I opened the door Noah turned in his chair to face me.
“Did I do something?” he looked scared.
“What?”
“Why are you screaming and running, I’m scared I did something.” You let out a chuckle at his words.
“No, but I got news. Great news.”
“Let me hear them.”  I walked over to him and sat in his lap.
“I just got offered a place in semi professional group at the studio. Without auditions, Molly wants me there.”
“Honey that’s great news! That’s amazing news!” he stood up with me in his arms and spined us around.
“So you think I should accept that offer?”
“You haven’t already?”
“No, I wanted to think about it.”
“Judging by your reaction, there’s nothing to think about.” He smiled into our kiss.
“I guess I’m back on track then.” I kissed him back.
-
Long story short, I accepted Molly’s offer and started with my new group. I had classes 4 times a week, which was bit hard to get used to, but after while it was okay.
Noah left for tour, so at least I got something to do with my free time.
Noah leaving was also good for another reason. There is time difference between us, so we usually text each other or have short calls, so my worries are easy to hide.
Last week Molly told us that our group will be playing Swan Lake few months from now on, which brought back some memories. Semi professional groups still play in midsized theatre, I joined them when there wasn’t any, so I expected some play to come soon, but not this one.
I had mixed feelings about it, thinking if I want to play or if I just pass this one. Applications are closing in three days and I still haven’t applied for any role, which was weird for Molly.
She asked me about it after last class, so I told her about my ballet history, how Swan Lake basically ruined it for me. Molly is very positive person, so she told me something that got stuck in my head. She said I could take it as an opportunity and change Swan Lake from something bad to something really good in my life.
Truth is, I am thinking about applying for Odette/Odile, but I haven’t told anyone yet.
-
“Okay that’s enough love, what is going on?” Noah asked through the phone and I saw his forehead wrinkles were making his worried face. It’s scary how well he knows me, but with tomorrow being the last day for applications I needed to tell him.
“Our group is going to play Swan Lake in a few months and I don’t know if I should apply or not. It’s the play that made me quit.”
“Looks like it’s your second chance to make the best out of it. Listen, you were worried about even getting into ballet again and look at you now! I know you’re worried now, but wouldn’t you regret not even trying it?” I felt like I was on the phone with Molly right now.
“I know, I was thinking about applying for the lead role, I did it back then too. But maybe I should do other role?”
“Oh no love, if anyone is supposed to be the lead role in this play, it’s you.”
“You have to say this, you’re my boyfriend Noah.”
“Well wouldn’t you be the same if I was in your position? That’s what you do for your partner. You know how many songs would be forgotten and never released if you didn’t support me? There is lot of them I thought weren’t good enough, but you made me finish them. I may don’t understand ballet, but I understand you and I know you would regret not applying. So you get your ass up right now and fill what ever you need to fill and send it to Molly or I’m going to do it.”
And he was right, I would regret it. But I still couldn’t believe myself when I saw ‘send’ on my screen after I applied for Odette/Odile.
-
Molly informed me that me and 5 other girls applied for the same role, so there will be two rounds of auditions, first one starting on Monday, which gives me 6 days to prepare for it. Noah is also coming back home on Monday, so I’m happy I will share the outcome with him. Either we will celebrate or he will make me his comfort food and I’m happy with both options.
-
I spend the last 6 days going over the choreography for the first round of auditions. Everyday after work I went straight home and practiced. Last night I didn’t get a chance to talk with Noah, because he was already on his way back to the states. I at least talked to my mom this morning.
“Y/N you’re next.” I heard Molly from the ballet room.
-
“I’m homeee.” I heard Noahs voice that I missed so much. I left the pans on low heat and left kitchen to meet Noah in the living room.
I didn’t waste any time and went straight in for a kiss.
“Missed me much?” he managed to say between our kisses.
“Very much.” I looked at his face, tired face, and held it in my hands “Hi love.”
“Hi.” He leaned his forehead against mine as we enjoyed bit of silence and each other’s presence after month and two weeks apart.
“How was the flight?” I broke the silence, took his hand and led him into our kitchen to finish dinner.
“It was okay. I slept most of the time, but I’m still very tired. And I need a shower.”
“You can go take a shower now, it will take few more minutes until it’s done.” I pointed to the food.
“Okay.” Noah got up, left kiss on my nose and went to get shower. That’s what I thought at least. On his way to our bathroom, he realized I didn’t tell him about the audition.
“Y/N? Wasn’t the audition today?” it was, but I wanted to tell him about the result over dinner.
“It was, but I wanted to tell you later.” I tried to hide the smile on my face.
“You got through to the second audition, didn’t you?” he caught your smile and immediately knew the answer. “I guess we can celebrate right now in the shower huh? Are you going to join me?”
-
“So girls, I want to thank you for participating in this audition. It was hard to decide, but in the end, we agreed on one name. And it’s you, Y/N. We were amazed by your performance and we feel like your experience with this play could help us to make the best of it. Congratulations!” Molly gave me a hug and whispered in my ear that she knew it was going to be me from the beginning.
Noah and my mom said the same. My mom made sure she put date of the premiere in hers and dad’s calendar so they wouldn’t miss it. Noah also made sure to clear that day months in advance and welcomed me home with a flower and dinner as a celebration.
-
Breathe in, breathe out. And repeat. I stood in backstage already in my costume. I saw Noah and my parents in the first row as the rest of the room filled with strangers. Strangers that are going to be watching me in a few minutes.
“Are you ready Y/N? How are you feeling?” I felt Molly’s hand on my shoulder.
“I’m nervous, but also excited. I haven’t preformed for over decade, so I hope I don’t panic.”
“You’ll be great. We did lot of work, all of you will do great tonight.”
She then went to talk to other girls and I felt my phone buzz in my hand. It was Noah.
“Don’t be nervous, we’re very excited to see you shine tonight. You’ll kill it babe, I love you.” Oh my sweet Noah. Supportive as always.
-
I stood still in my pose as the curtain was closing. I let out a big breath I didn’t even realised I was holding in when the curtain was fully closed. I turned around to see my friends and in that moment we realized we just finished our premiere of the Swan Lake. And it was perfect. We did group hug, with Molly joining us. It was completely different than 10 years ago. This night was full of support and love.
I went to change into my normal clothes and then to meet Noah and my parents.
My dad and Noah both had bouquets in their hands and my mom had tears in her eyes. She was also the first one to pull me into a hug.
“I’m so proud of you Y/N, you can’t even imagine. You grew up into a beautiful woman and you just showed me how strong you are.”
“Thank you, mom, I couldn’t have done this without you.”
Then it was my dad who pulled me into strong hug. My dad didn’t show emotions a lot, so I appreciated him coming tonight.
I really wanted to literally jump into Noah’s arms, but I kept calm in front of my parents. They said their goodbyes and left, because they have long road ahead of them.
As soon as they left the parking lot I turned to Noah and attacked him with hugs and kisses.
“Slow down baby, let me congratulate you and give you this beautiful flower.” It really was beautiful bouquet. Noah always got me beautiful flowers.
“How was it? Did you like it?” I was interested in Noah’s opinion, because it was his first ballet play he saw.
“It was beautiful! You were amazing! I know you can stretch your legs right, but I didn’t know you can stretch them like this.” I didn’t know if I should slap his arm for his stupid comment or laugh at him as he was trying to show me what he meant and trying to do the pose he was referring to.
“Okay ballerina I get it!” I laugh and stopped him from what he was doing before he got himself injured.
“Do you want to go out for dinner and drinks? Or go home and order something? You must be hungry.” We intertwined our hands and Noah led me to his car. He was right, I didn’t eat much today, because of the nerves.
“I think I want to go home, order something to eat, have a glass of wine, have hot bubble bath and then my back could use a massage…”
“I will give you massage only if you let me join you in the bath.” Of course he wouldn’t miss that chance.
“Deal. Let’s get home.” Noah started his car and took my hand in his.
“I love you and I’m so proud of you. I’m getting tickets to every show and I’m making the guys come with me.”
“Okay.” I laughed, but I knew he was serious. I’m sure that at the next show I’m going to see the core of BO crew in the front row.
“But I’m serious, I love you.”
“I love you too Noah, thank you for being by my side for all of this.”
“Always.”

Hehe they are an amazing family!! I think i love both in diferent ways, is just that watching them having wholesome family interactions is so cuteeee aaaaaaahhh
thanks for requesting it 💙💜 hope you like it! I wrote it with all my heart!
Tumblr media
Luka, Juleka and Anarka are a really close and caring family, and you won't be the exception, everyone shows their love and care for you in their own way but never leaving you behind, no matter what
Anarka makes sure to give you your own space and freedom to do as you please (as long as you don't get hurt), but is always there for you whenever you need her, so it end up being Luka the one who is the most responsible person on your life at your early life (unless you were born before him), always looking after you and making sure you do your homework and chores, he does give you freedom but makes sure you learn to be good and responsible. Juleka may be pretty shy and introvert, but for her is a little easier to be open with you two, so she just let herself relax with you (as long as you don't mean harm to her)
If you were younger than them both will try to look after you, while Luka is more like a parent, trying to teach you a few things and being quite protective over you, Juleka is more inclined towards making you company and trying to keep you entretained, is just that Juleka isn't confident of her habilities to take care of her younger sibling and Luka is naturaly caring and protective
If the case that you were older than both or even in the middle then you three will probably just have an even closer relasionship, being so close to each other age can help to let you connect with each other and be able to spend time together (also because their protectiveness won't be trigger by you being so small and young)
Even if you are close to each other and have a really good relationship you'll never be forced to spend all the time with them or be friends with their friends, you are always free to go and do your own friends and have fun on your own, even Anarka will motivate you to go and do your life, to have time to yourself (but will actually put some limits, depending on your age)
Luka and Juleka aren't pushy with you telling them about your life, but they may ask sometimes just for being polite, besides if you are willing or actually want to tell them what you do with your friends they will be more than happy to heard them, Juleka will even share more histories of what she does with her friends too
No matter how old you are you'll always have the support and care of your family, so if you ever have a problem you can always can over to them. Luka is the best to comfort but has his own special way, he can easily read people's expressions so he knows almost immediatly when you aren't feeling at your best and waste no time before showing comfort, but is probably that he does it indirectly (specially if you prefer to don't talk much about your problems), he sometimes has problems with expressing himself by words so he tries to play some music for you. Juleka will have a little problems when trying to comfort you just because she gets nervous about it, but at the end she offers you a shoulder to cry on, just asking you if you want to talk about it or do something to distract yourself, is probably that you two end up talking about what makes you stress or upsed before reasuring each other, knowing that despite everything you have each other to relay on
Since in the Couffaine family is almost part of the dna having talent, or at least a liking for the music, is probably that you'll have talent for music too, but it won't matter much what instrument you want/know to play or what kind of music you prefer to perform everyone will support you and cheer for you (even if you were to prefer a rhythm that is the complete opposite they will still cheer for you, Anarka will find it quite funny but won't make fun of you for it). Besides, Anarka knows a lot about diferent instruments, so she can easily guide you to find the one that is for you!
Once they start Kitty Section you'll have the opportunity to not only meet Juleka's friends but also an invitation to participate, but its okay if you decline, they won't force you to anything and just let you know that you can change your choise if you want. Performing with them or not, you are going to always be welcome to their practices and you can always invite your own friends to watch too, they always insist that the more they are the more fun will be!

TELL ME ABOUT TED. Headcanons you have for him, anything... Can be silly or serious.
Someone... SOMEONE'S ASKING ME ABOUT MY HEADCANONS?! IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE SOMEONE'S ASKED ME ABOUT MY HEADCANONS!! HOLD ON, I MADE A DOCUMENT!! /ref/hj
In actuality, I did genuinely make a google doc. But it's not ready to be shared yet, so I'll share the highlights.
First off, the game manual lies. He is NOT 44. He's 33 at OLDEST. I kind of consider him more like 29/30. Just barely.
He grew up in South Carolina hehe, farm boy
Bisexual disaster but I think this is kinda just obvious.
He is the oldest between him and his 5 siblings!!! And adding onto this, he is SUCH a good older brother. I don't care if everyone else disagrees, he could be the worst man alive but the one good thing someone could say was that he took care of his siblings.
If you know Ayano from Kagerou Project, I think he's a lot like her when he's younger. Like 8/9 years old. He tried so hard to protect them all from their parents and keep them happy. He'd sacrifice so much for them, it's why he kinda,, went into the extreme of being so,, entitled as a grown up. Ykwim???
Just imagine. With the ice caves, moving without thinking to save the others before himself? His brain subconsciously doing what he knows best; sacrificing what he has for others.
Selflessness as a core trait for Ted, please.
Another thing relating to his siblings: He knows how to do ballet!! And he's REALLY good at it. He actually has a lot of fun doing it. One of his sisters wanted to, but she was too afraid to take lessons alone, so he went along with her in secret. Didn't get caught for years. (She stopped lessons once he got forced out of them)
He talks a little like a New-Yorker, or at the very least, that transAtlantic accent (yk like from the old movies?) to try and play off as that kind of guy like Great Gatsby.
His actual accent is Southern. Sometimes it slips out when he's like, extremely flustered/angry, but it's such a rare thing.
He can't stand the sound of someone crying, it immediately makes him angry. Take that, and yk, Ellen or Benny constantly crying... Yeaaaah. (This is also due to his siblings).
This is obvious, he forces himself into doing a lot of masculine things that he doesn't like to appear older/wiser/better, insert whatever word you wanna use that translates to "I am insecure about myself" lol
Okay this last one is really important to me and like. It. Needs its own special paragraph. He is a creative person in his soul. He loves to learn, he loves to write, he loves to read and dance and sing and draw and he has such a huge imagination and love for creativity. You can see it in his psychodrama with how it plays out like a full-blown Grimms Fairytale, the monster he imagined that no one else could see, the line in the radio drama "Am I the last storyteller, telling the last story...?"
He's a storyteller. He has so much to say and share, and he would've done something creative with his life if he had the option, but the abuse he faced and the societal expectations placed on him forced him to,, give it all up. Made him realize he could never have that. Which is why, at least in the game, AM chose him. Ted had so much potential to create, and just... gave it up. For seemingly nothing. Why wouldn't that make AM mad, who can't create, can't even imagine or wonder?
AKA Theatre Kid Ted canon, let it be known
I have like, also. I have a somewhat-AU of Omori for the ihnm cast, and Ted takes the role of Basil. I think Dream Basil vs RW Basil fit a lot of what he is as a kid vs an adult, or at least aspects of both due.
I also have a Hadestown AU of him with my self-insert where he takes the role of Eurydiceeee.... Like. Guys, Hadestown fans, hear me out. Ted singing "Flowers." AM singing "Hey Little Songbird" to Ted. PLEASE HEAR ME CAN YOU HEAR ME??? ARE YOU LISTENING??? /J
There's so much more I can say but this is getting so long I will definitely share more if people want nfjkdc bUT THANK YOU FOR ASKING!!!

i don't know if you're even still active, but im going to talk about this anyway. maybe nobody will ever see it, which makes me feel a little sad. i just want to know someone else knows about this.
i'm in love with my younger sibling. i've been in love with them since i was eight years old. im now twenty-one. we used to roleplay being together. we would usually pretend to be boyfriend and girlfriend, or boyfriend and boyfriend. we would usually pretend to be specific characters from books i was too young to be reading. we didn't do anything too intense when we were young. it was just kissing and little kid humping to copy characters.
when we got older and hit puberty, we started a more defined relationship. we weren't playing pretend anymore, not exactly anyway. we did continue incorporating elements of pretending to be characters for much longer than usual. anyway. at this point we started making out, having sex, being excited whenever our parents were gone because we could do whatever we wanted. lol. and what we wanted was usually each other.
at some point (teens, but i cant remember exactly when) we just kind of drifted out of it. it wasn't a breakup, so to speak. we didn't fight, or say "let's stop doing this" or anything. it just sort of tapered off. i can remember our last kiss very clearly. i don't know if i knew at the time it would be the last, though.
we're both older now. they have a partner and have for a couple of years. we live together. me and my sibling, not their partner. their partner is long distance. im still in love with them. they don't know. i don't think they're in love with me anymore, they've moved on.
it makes me feel like a stunted failure. a weirdo. i've never loved anyone but them. i never will. and ill never have them again. sometimes i contemplate suicide, but i know that even though they're not in love with me, they love me enough that i couldn't do that to them. but it's hard. it's so hard. why did they move on? why didn't i?
i'm in love with my sibling, and i am breaking into pieces. unrequited love is a bitch.
please answer, if you're still there. i just want to know that someone saw me for once. that someone knows i exist, that someone knows about my story. please.
TW
Hello, sorry this blog fell off. We see you. You are heard and seen. There is a point in living. Please stay strong for them. We’re deeply sorry. You are loved <3

@rom-e-o So, my turn, I suppose?
The Guineverich Proposal
Considering the Wolves relationship takes forever😩 I decided to stick to the idea in the game that Emmrich and Rook are supposedly moving at a pretty quick clip for the Ravens. Just for something different.
They first say "I love yours" and consummate their relationship around the 3 month mark.
Doesn't take long at all after for Emmrich to decide that, yes, he's going to propose. She's the one.
He just needs to find the right ring.
Tumblr media
Ring secured, his next step is to ask her parents. They're wonderful folks that think the world of their G'iney and he wouldn't want to make them feel like he's stealing her right out from under their noses without letting them know. So he gets in touch with them, telling them he needs to talk in person and asks them if they might issue an invite for G'iney, Manfred, and him to come visit the next convenient weekend. G'iney has to think it's their idea or she will be suspicious. So they do. Emmrich and Manfred more officially meet G'iney's family in a non-funeral related setting, and he asks for Guinevere's hand. Of course, they give him permission. Manfred spends all weekend playing with G'iney's younger siblings and cousins and Kat, because of course the snake goes too.
With ring and permission sets in stone, Emmrich sets to work at crafting the perfect setting. While Guinevere likes her jewelry to be more flashy, her proposal is a different matter entirely. She's much too shy for a public or even semi-public proposal. So Emmerich prepares a lovely, romantic meal to be held at the Memorial Gardens where they went on the date where they decided to make their relationship official. He plans to propose to her at his parents' graves. (Sorry! But it just seems only right for him to do!😭)
He stashes the ring in the meantime.
Unfortunately, fueled by the playtime he had with G'iney's family, Manfred is in a pirate-loving phase and is looking to find "treasure" for his "treasure chest". Naturally, in his search and snooping, he comes across a pretty little box. Now, Manfred knows, even as a pirate skeleton, that sometimes boxes contain very important things for his papa to use or keep safe, so before he decides to put the box in his treasure chest, he needs to see what's in it. But he can't get the little clasp open, and Papa is out. So he takes it to Mum instead!
Guinevere is... surprised to say the least. Emmerich already has a ring? There is nothing else this could be but an engagement ring: It's too new to have come from a crypt, there's no enchantment about it but a small charm to make the longevity of the sparkle last longer. He's already planning to propose! But... they've hardly been together as a couple for six months! It's so soon! And yet... it feels perfectly timed. And so right. And Guinevere finds, if she digs past those vicious voices in her head that constantly tell her she's worthless, not marriage material, she'll only be a burden, and Emmrich will end up hating her for tying him down to her brokeness, that she has no reservations. At least, none concerning him and his genuineness, goodness, and love for her.
She supposes she could have Manfred show her where he found the box and put it back to try and keep her beloved's surprise, but in contrast to the proposal, lying to Emmrich like that, even for what seems a good reason, doesn't feel right. So she tells and shows him when he gets home. Of course he's disappointed. Everything was going so perfectly according to plan, he was trying so hard to keep up.a good pokerface and had actually seemed to be succeeding. And the happy surprise of it for Guinevere is now ruined.
"I suppose I'll have to cancel things now."
"No, please don't! It sounds like such a lovely idea and you've gone to so much trouble to set it up. I don't need the perfect surprise proposal--I just need a lovely night with the man I love and all the happiness in the world to make it a dream."
So, cheered by her assurances, Emmrich does just that.
The night goes off without a snafu, except for one rogue wisp that seemed determined to hog their attention for a few minutes.
"Maybe Manfred needs a sibling?"
"Unlike Manfred, I don't believe this wisp would take too kindly to an earthly tether. And Manfred still has much to learn; I'm not certain I'm ready to take on another wisp as of yet."
Emmrich does manage to surprise Guinevere however, by getting Manfred a "Will you be my mama?" shirt and dressing him in it. (Bellara handled the tracking down of that one for him.) Manfred is wearing it when they meet him at the Volkarin's graves.
Guinevere laughs and cries and says "yes" to Manfred as she hugs him and accepts his flowers. Then she turns her attention to Emmrich as he goes down on two knees with the ring.
"Guinevere Vynhalsyne, the life of a Mourn Watcher is a lonely existence; mine has been no exception. From the moment I was orphaned as a young boy, I have been incredibly alone, even when surrounded by teachers, tutors, spirits. It has been hard for me to find solace even among my own peers. An enduring affection, such as that which I've dreamed of for as long as I can remember, is an incredibly rare find. I thought I'd missed my chance to find it.
"Then you come into my life and suddenly that deep shadow of loneliness flees into the corners at the touch of your light. Colors become ever more vivid. The air becomes fresh and clear and full of life. What unexpected splendor to be found in just the creases of your smile, the musicality of your laugh! And, most unexpected and splendid of all, enduring affection to be found in the purity and kindness of your wonderful heart.
"I love you, Guinevere, as the wolf loves the moon. As the sun ignites a rainbow after a storm, you have ignited my heart and soul for you. You have awakened my enduring affection. I offer it to you freely and will chose to do so all the days of my life if you will allow it. My dearest heart, my most precious beloved , flame of my heart, my Rook, will you grant an old fool the greatest honor of taking your hand in marriage to become your most devoted husband? My darling Guinevere, will you marry me?"
And, of course, through tears and sobs (which she feels a little silly about because she knew this was coming after all) Guinevere says "yes". A thousand times "yes".

My coral island farmer OC, Fazlyn Dirynhai Base on the convo, interaction and behavior , these are her character I came up with all info i have at the time. So Imma gonna put it here for the record for future reference?? since the game have presented main personality through text, context and subtext a lot. I need to keep track of her somehow. [contain SPOILERS about questline/heart scene, convo, interaction] Here I go.
She likes starfruit. (; Luke Convo)
She can eat raw vegetables like eggplants. (; Luke and Raj Convo)
She likes making joke and puns. (; Interact with people's room and shop)
She can be 'respectful', rarely. (; Interact with Mollie's closet)
She talks a lot, even with someone she barely know. (; Leah and Mark convo)
She's yogi (; Ben convo)
She likes romantic homey dinner kind of date. (; Answer Pablo Question)
She likes eating flower than admiring one. (; Answer Scott Question)
She can be unintentionally flirt sometimes, but it just being nice in that case. (; Answer Mark Question)
She usually collapsed at night from exhaustion (; Behavior)
She worked in art field before. (; Answer Zarah Question)
She likes gossip, sometimes, of course *wink* (; Bree convo)
She can drink alcohol in little amount (; Scott's heart scene)
She likes horror movie(; Rafael's heart scene)
Other info about her.
She remembered Alice and Lily when she arrived. (; Alice and Lily favorite shown since we arrived to the town, before the farmer spoke to both of them.)
She didn't remember Nina, but they were childhood friends. (; Nina's questline)
Her name isn't her given name. (; Raj Convo). // I came up with the story that her legal name come from her nickname and her old first name, it started from she had the same name with her classmate. So, she's the one with the nickname for convenience. Then after that she kept found the incident recurring a lot, so she changed her nickname to her legal name for good. Her old first name is Lyn.
Speaker in Luke's shop is easily broken, she used to buy that speaker's brand before and it's broken in 6 months. (; Interact with top right shelf in Luke's shop.)
She also owned a clock like the one Luke sells back in Pokyo. (; Interact with bottom left shelf in Luke's shop.)
She tasted Betty's soup without permission. (; Interact with the pot in Betty's kitchen.) [imo, i want to smack her hand for that.]
Her vow in her wedding with Luke was 'Luke, a lifetime is not long enough for me to wake up every morning next to you.' (; Married day, obviously.)
Anddddd, these are my headcanons for this character. Just base on my random guess and thoughts.
She was closer to Alice than Suki when they were kids.
At some point, I think Nina, Luke, and farmer had played together, but it just 1-2 times, so only Nina can remember that. Since Luke is too young to remember the farmer and haven't been contacted with, and the farmer played with Nina more than Luke and she still didn't remember her, she doesn't good with remembering and such.
Suki, Alice, Nina, Lily and the farmer was a childhood friend group.
She hadn't talked with Tavern siblings or blacksmith brother before, from the first convo they had.
Her hair and her blue eyes come from her mother side, her mother is from San franciskyo
Her grandparents who owned the farm are on her father side, so they should be Indonesian(?).
Her parents met in Pokyo and she grew up there. That's the reason she had Pokyo accent from Leah's convo.
Her first talk with Taco, the dialog is like, '[He smells a lot like Luke]', but she hadn't speak with Luke at that point. So, she kinda buffled a bit. 'Wait, who's Luke??'
Her first rescuer for collapsed after 2 AM is Luke, I remember this because it's happened in 2nd Spring in the Year 1. So, in Year 2, the farmer gave him the locket that day, 2nd Spring.
2nd Spring in Year 3, she changed her hair as celebration of sort?? idk, it's pretty coincidence. I just wanted to change something a bit about the hair and just noticed that it that day. huh.. Wonder what will happend if I continue playing until next year.

✪ In This Universe ✪
Tumblr media
paring: Natasha Romanoff, Yelena Belova, and their older brother
summary: when Yelena accidently gets hurt, her older brother is there to help her have fun again. and Natasha is just laughing at her brother.
warnings: i don't think any, it's just fluff/comfort
a/n: got this idea cuz last year my class went to the younger kids school and this little girl came up to me and pulled a children's makeup kit, and asked to do my makeup so i could, and i quote, "be a pretty boy" as i trans man, I wanted to cry but like, anyway. I wore that makeup look for the entire day. also, nicknames are ones my family members call me and they are definitely my favorites that people call me. kind of a weird ending but i just wanted to remind yall the pain that is Natasha knew her family was fake the entire time she was there and had to live with that.
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
With one sister on your shoulders and the other cradled in your arms, you walk away from the playground and back to your house. Yelena hit her head on a tree, and after comforting her, you put Natalia on your shoulders and picked up the little blonde to take them home. It’s easy to hold the light girls, so you do the entire neighborhood block walk.
Your mother sees you guys from the kitchen window where she’s washing dishes, and signs before walking outside and taking Yelena from your arms. The little girl is always getting hurt, which a lot of people think proves your mother and father aren’t good parents. They aren’t wrong, but you got kicked out of your old middle school for fighting with other kids who talked crap way too often. It wasn’t about defending your reputation, but your younger sisters. Your reputation is long gone, being known as Strings in hydra due to your ability to control minds. But Natalia and Yelena, they shouldn’t have to deal with that yet. Natalia already has, and now that you guys can live in semi peace in Ohio you are determined to let her keep that peace.
You lean down a bit so Natasha doesn’t hit her head as you walk through the front door, following your mother to the living room and setting the blue haired girl down on the couch and making your way to the kitchen for an ice pack.
“What happened? Your mom asks you. “We were playing tag and she didn't notice the tree in front of her because she was focused on me behind her.” You say, and the older woman sighs and orders, “you need to start taking better care of your sisters alright?” you quietly scoff and mumble, “Right.” Being the oldest sibling and already in your teen years, it is your duty to watch over your younger sisters all day while your dad is at work and your mom simply does whatever she feels like doing that afternoon. You love the girls, but sometimes you wish you could go off and have fun like all the kids in your school get to do. But you would never complain, just out of fear that Melina- your mother- would send you back to Hydra to be locked up in a cell once again to only be used when they need you.
Yelena holds the ice pack to her own forehead and gives you a small smile. “I'm okay солнечный свет.” Sunshine. That's what the small blonde said in Russian. When you and Natasha first moved to Ohio- Yelena coming soon after that- the little girl's were the only ones who could get through your stone cold heart. That earned you the title, “Sunshine” in Russian from them, and they became known to you as: “Пчелка” and “конфеты”.
“little bee” and “candy”
Yelena is little bee, simply for the fact that she loves bees. and Natalia is candy because she loves to dye her hair different colors. It's basically just a shortened version of the nickname cotton candy.
Your mom goes back to the dishes, and you pick each little girl up in each arm and carry them to your room over your shoulders like they're sacks of potatoes. This earns you loud laughs from the children as you throw them down on your bed.
The girls have lots of their own personal stuff in your room, because they spend most nights in your bed, making you read them stories and watch cartoons with them. You're always happy to spend time with your siblings, and you try your best not to let the little voice inside your head saying, “they're not your real family and they never will be” take over.
Both girls get comfortable on your bed, and you open a book as you lay in the middle of them. Suddenly Yelena's little voice speaks up, “солнечный свет?” you hum in acknowledgement and glance up from the book for a quick second. “Can I do your makeup?” Her question catches you a bit off guard and you giggle. “Mine? Why mine?” She shrugs. “Because you let me run into a tree.” She states casually, and Natalia chuckles at the gaslighting. The little girl is learning so much from her two older siblings.
You sigh, sending her a smile and putting your book down. “Of course you can little bee. Go grab your stuff.” She runs to her own room with a giggle, and comes back with a sparkly pink children's makeup kit. Your mother got it for her a bit ago, but Yelenas never really been too interested in stuff like makeup- unless she's putting it on you of course.
She settles into Natalia's lap, and opens the kit. “So big brother, what color eyeshadow do you want?” The little girl asks, and you quickly reply with an answer you know she'll love, “The brightest pink you got kid.” Natalia helps her scan through the colors until they eventually settle on one. She uses the tiny brush to begin putting it on your now closed eyelids, and you try your best to not flinch away every time she presses the brush too hard into your eyes.
She then moves onto blush, and you peak one eye open when Natalia giggles. Yelena is pushing the makeup brush into a shimmery blue, and then draws a small circle on the middle of both your cheeks. She grabs one of the lipstick tubes, and you're just praying it isn't the one she used to draw on a tree the other day.
Natalia won't stop laughing the whole time, you open your eyes to glare at the eleven year old for a few seconds which only makes her laugh harder.
A few minutes later, Yelena says, “And…….done! you look so pretty солнечный свет!” She hands you a small mirror, and you take a moment to look at yourself in the blurry plastic. You have bright pink on your eyelids that messily goes onto your eyebrows, small blue circles acting as blush like an old timey doll, purple lipstick that barely covers your lip and goes onto the rest of your face, and a random red blob on your chin.
Even with this terrible makeup, you smile at your little sister. “I look amazing Lena!” you half lie, because it truly does look good because it was done by your sister. Anything she could do in life would be amazing to you.
Her smile grows, and you can't help but burst into laughter at the way Natalia is looking at you. Her eyes are scanning your face, and she doesn't say anything for a moment before she begins laughing too. Yelena doesn't seem to care, as she presses a kiss to your nose and giggles when you scrunch it.
Your mother calls for Yelena to come pick up her toys in the living room, and there is silence between you and Natalia until she mumbles, “Why do you love us? We're not your real siblings.” There is no harshness to her words, just curiosity. “Because it's real in another universe. And it's real to her.” She looks up at you confused, so you elaborate, “The multiverse. In another universe, we are all blood related. None of our pasts ever happened. No red room, no hydra, no Dreykov. Just us.” She smiles, a bit of hope in her eyes. “Is the multiverse real солнечный свет?” She asks. You sigh. “I don't know Tasha…..but if it was….would you rather spend an eternity searching for the perfect one, or stay in this one where we have okay lifes?” She takes a moment to think about it before she nods, “I'd rather stay here. Lena's happy, I'm pretty happy, and I think you're happy.” You chuckle and press a kiss to her forehead. “I'm very happy candy…..so happy.”
