Being in the Fashion department, you had assumed your classmates had a passion for fashion. For god's sake, it's in the name.

But no, you're wrong.

Apart from using it as an excuse to wear designer brands from head to toe, no one really gave a shit.

No one cared about the history, about design, fabrication, construction.

No one... apart from you that is.

Your first client wasn't really someone you could say no to unless you had a death wish.

When the whole of the Architecture department shows up along with Vasco, their terrifying leader, you consider running off and screaming.

It was only Jace Park, who seemed to understand a more subtle approach and how intimidating they looked, that stopped you from wanting to flee to the teacher.

(Strange. You actually don't recall seeing your teacher for months.)

"Please," Jace murmurs to Vasco and he's practically begging. "You didn't need to turn up with everyone. Just leave this to me. Please."

If you didn't know better, you would think Vasco was giving him grateful puppy eyes. But that can't be right. He's a thug.

"Sorry," Jace turns to you, looking contrite and fiddling anxiously with his big ears when you're finally on your own. "Are you the Fashion Designer?"

It should have been a stupid question, considering you're in the Fashion Department.

Except you look around at the so-called boxer who pitifully simps after the brunette all day, the rich blonde kid who never talks to anyone, the other girl who is an aspiring streamer and you sigh to yourself.

"Yes, that's me."

All things considered, the Burn Knuckles are very easy to please.

It's a design printed on some pre-made boilersuits, not exactly avant garde.

You did touch up the logo though and provided some more clothing options than requested. Boilersuits in a small selection of colours, bomber and leather jackets.

When you hand over the boxes to Vasco and Jace, the latter shakes your hand and the former stares at you with tears in his eyes and asks how they can ever repay you.

You shrug. Because he did already pay you for your time and the materials.

"Don't worry about it." You say, giving him a polite grin.

Vasco beams and you think maybe this guy isn't so scary.

Somehow your reputation precedes you.

To be honest you didn't even realise you had any sort of reputation until a guy with a messy mop head and two dogs corners you in an alleyway.

"I heard you're the Designer," he grunts.

A part of you thinks of fleeing once again. A smaller part of you thinks damn, that nickname is kinda cool.

"I am?"

"Don't play dumb. I know who you are."

You would have found him rude and menacing if not for his dogs picking that exact moment to roll around on the floor belly-up, desperately wanting some attention.

"Fuck's sake," he mutters though he squats down anyway to pat them. "So?" he continues, trying to regain his previous threatening aura even as the pups wriggle around under his touch.

"So what?"  you ask, not able to stop the smile creeping over your face at this adorable sight.

"I need some clothing."

Perhaps the Burn Knuckles gave you a false sense of bravado, thinking everyone would be as easy as them. Unfortunately, this guy is a goddamn headache.

He wants hoodies, which isn't an issue but he wants matching dog-sized ones and he wants you to design the logo from scratch too.

"But I don't do graphic design," you cry and he pretends he can't hear you.

On your twelfth iteration, he doesn't glare at it and praise the heavens; he's finally happy.

Well, happy is an overstatement. He doesn't exactly look happy but he's no longer glaring at you, so you assume in Johan Seong's world, that means he's exhilarated.

The hoodies fit, both Johan and the dogs, and the logo looks good too.

You wave goodbye to the back of all three. Your bank balance is healthier except you hope they never darken your doorstep again.

It's a sorry state of affairs when three of the members of Allied are part of the Fashion Department, and come to you asking for help.

"Why don't you design it yourself?" you ask Daniel Park, Zack Lee and Jay Hong.

They look at you like you've grown two heads.

You will be eternally grateful that Jay Hong is mute, that Vasco is actually the sweetest cinnamon roll, and Daniel Park is pretty easy-going because having Vin Jin and Zack Lee constantly bickering and criticising your design is bad enough.

Apparently these men are very adept fighters. Caught up in some gang shit. It didn't matter. You still wanted to ram your pen through their skulls.

Then throw in someone else called Hudson Ahn who also seems to like giving rude, overly critical comments concealed as constructive criticism -

Eventually, after staying awake for 46 hours - you all agree on a logo.

"Here." You thrust the USB drive with the files at Daniel Park.

"What do I do with this?"

"You're in the Fashion Department too." You rub at your tired eyes, patience long gone with these morons. "Find a clothing printer yourself. Search for it on the internet. You know what that is right? The internet?"

Somewhere to your right, Vin Jin bursts into laughter.

You can't decide if this guy is trying to sell you something or if you're actually falling in love with him by the second.

Hell, he could sell you some snake-oil and you're so charmed you don't mind.

"So, you'll do it?" he asks, holding your hands in his larger gloved ones and you feel yourself simpering like an idiot at the contact.

"Sure thing, Mr. Kim."

"Jake," he says, giving you a toothy grin. "I'm Jake. And this is Jerry."

"Who?"

"Jerry Kwon," A large hulking man steps up besides Jake, offering you a handshake.

What? How did you miss him? You didn't notice him at all.

"Oh. Uh. Of course. Nice to meet you too Jerry."

"Come here, guys." Jake signals for the other men hanging back to come forth. "Ths is Brad and Jerry and Lineman."

Shit. Damnit, you've been so fixated on Jake Kim that you ignored everyone else.

Hell. You didn't even realise there was anyone else.

"Hi," you say, wanting the ground to swallow you up and blushing furiously.

Jake catches your eye and gives you a wink.

Being completely honest, the Big Deal tracksuits aren't your best work.

You're not too sure on the logo design (though hey - that's not really your handiwork). The placement is a little awkward and the design is sort of plain.

You added gold elements to at least make it a bit more cohesive, and sourced extra durable fabrics with lots of movement as apparently the guys have a tendency to damage clothing during fights.

"What do you think?" Jake says, modelling your finalised version.

From the smile on his face, you could tell he's very much satisfied with your work.

"Looks great," you say and you're telling the truth. Although it's not really the tracksuit that looks great, but the man wearing it. His broad shoulders and tight waist, long muscular legs and-

Vasco:

never used to care about his dumbness and others calling him that because Jace takes care of most things for him

he always has others looking out for him and tells them regularly how grateful he is for that

but you always say that there can be two moms and that she´s doing a much better job than you ever could

she´s also the first one you tell about your feelings for Eli, you kept them hidden for a long time because you didn´t want to pressure him

you didn´t even want to get into a relationship with him, not wanting him to be tied down in any way

after everything that happened with Heather you didn´t want to remind him of any of that, you were happy co-parenting as his close friend

Warren is the one to get Eli to admit his own feelings for you, he already was vulnerable around you before, he trusts you immensely after all

but now that he knows why it all makes so much sense, but at the same time he´s so scared

comes to you immediately after the talk and just confesses right then, sharing all his fears with you

- Showers you with compliments. ‘Beautiful’ ‘Pretty’ ‘Talented’, words you hear so often but you never have a doubt about his sincerity, given by the smooth, gentle tone of his voice when he whispers those sweet words into your ear.

- Vasco never gets angry at you — He simply cant. To raise his voice or to even think about causing you any harm is unimaginable. He loves and adores you way too much to harm you.

- His favourite thing to do with you that he’ll never admit is simply holding you close, feeling your breath on his chest and body nestled against his. Vasco doesn’t mind being big spoon or small spoon — he just wants to be with you.

- Another thing Vasco’ll never admit he loves is when you wear his clothes. When you wear his classic tank top or his Burn Knuckles uniform, he can suddenly feel his cheeks burning up as he quietly murmurs ‘you look good’, all while holding back what he really wants to say.

- To date him, you have to get use to his constant hands all over you. He never turns down affection, gladly pulling you in by your hips when you ask to cuddle. When you’re casually doing anything, he naturally wraps his arms around your waist and nestles his head into your shoulder like its second nature.

- No matter where he takes you, his attention is all on you. During movie dates, he finds himself constantly taking glances at you to see if you're enjoying it. While on a picnic date — although has never thought of being on one, but only considered it when Jace suggested it — he's still only has you on his mind.

- Vasco always talks about you to others: your beauty, your voice — everything about you is captivating. He’s practically deaf to anything that isn’t related to you.

- When your first anniversary came around, Burn Knuckles all cheered and decided to throw a surprise party. Cake, balloons, music - all of the usual elements of a celebration. You’ve never seen Vasco this excited; he was practically on cloud nine. The constant chatter and questions left you drained. By the end of the day, you were so exhausted that you just let yourself collapse atop his broad chest which felt especially inviting. His heartbeat thumped. loudly in your ear, its rhythm increasing with each passing second as you slowly drifted off to sleep. He then wrapped the two of you in a warm blanket, letting his chest serve as your pillow, secretly savouring this quiet, cozy embrace while letting his fingers gently glide through your hair before slipping into sleep himself.

“What do you want?” Jace crossed his arms over his chest, blocking your path. You scoffed, “Out of the way, monkey. I need to talk to Vasco.” You simply pushed his big head out of the way as he yelped. “Hey!” As you marched forward he follows behind. “Stop! In the name of justice!”

Ignoring him, you keep a calming pace towards the leader of Burn Knuckles with Jace still hot on your tail. “Oi! What business to you have with him?” Again you spare no reply. “What's that on your hand? Show me!”

“Jace!” Mary emerged in front of him. Giving him a good view of her 'mountains'. He clicked his tongue in frustration, “Not now, Mary. I'm busy.” “I know. “Vasco! Look out!” Jace warned as he slid to the side from Mary and leaped forward. Your eyes widened at the sudden attack, causing you to miss your footing. The box opened on its own mid air cinematically in slow motion over Vasco's face.

Pause. So Let's recap.

You have a crush Vasco. It just came over you. It's a silly crush, you thought to yourself. It's a never ending phase, though the sooner you start to realise that you're actually turning whipped for this buffoon. You told no one at first, thinking it's a piece of cake to confess your feelings by asking him to a simple hangout. But to your utter disappointment, you often stammer your ass out and shift on your spot like an idiot. Deciding that it's officially an issue you need to overcome, you went to your best friends for help.

You learnt two things that day. One, never talk about your feelings. Two, never talk about your feelings to Vin Jin. Because you can always guarantee another two things to happen from him if you do. That is he will laugh right at your face and mock you after. Stuff like quote unquote “killing two birds with one stone”. But no, this is killing one bird with two stones.

To be fair you blamed it on yourself. You should know his antics by now and in the end you pay the prize. You hardly took it personally. At first. Other side of you thought he was right. You, having a crush on the Burn Knuckle’s leader? That airhead out of all people. Vin Jin’s word, not yours. Mary was considerate enough to beat his ass as for you. But you don't deny the fact. Crushes are stupid. However, the constant teasing never goes unpunished by you because it's starting to actually get on your fucking nerves.

Your fist left a transparent smoke after feeding Vin one of your tasty punches as he lays there flat on his back. His face left a visible outline of your knuckles.

Mary crouched down, “Wow, that's gotta leave a mark.”

“No shit.” Vin choked. “What the hell? Are you on your period or somethin’?”

You sneered, slowing the smoke off your fist. “Nah. You got a bug on your face.” Vin scoffed back. Immediately after that Mary turned to you. “So any luck with your future husband?”

At the mention of the topic your shoulders slumped, “No…” Mary stood back up, now facing you. “Why? Just tell him right to his face. What's the worst gonna happen?” Before you could even answer, she clinged her arm around yours, “C’mon, let's go! I wanna see Jace.” and dragged you away from the classroom, leaving Vin behind. “Oi.”

“Can you quit it?” Jace sighed but took no action regarding Mary pulling with his huge ears. “Nah.”

Meanwhile, you are gaining your courage for your operation to confess your feelings to Vasco. He was first to greet you, pausing his dumbbells mid air like they weight nothing. “Hey, (Name).”

“Hey.” You said casually. “What's up?” or better yet awkwardly. You hardly remember the rest of the conversation after that. Three easy words, that's it. That's literally it. Yet it felt harder than pulling your punches.

“(Name) like Vasco?” Mary nodded. Jace added, “Damn.”

You cleared your throat, “Listen, I got something to tell you. It's important. Sort of.”

He sets down the dumbbells, now fully have his attention on yours, “What is it?”

At the same time Jace and Mary continue to observe both of you.

“She gonna say it? She better said it. How hard can it be?” All the sudden Jace seem to root for you.

“Listen.” You exhaled, fisted formed on your sides. “I…I like you.”

Vasco pulled a small grin, “Really? Ah, that's good. I like you too.”

“R-really?”

He nodded, “Of course. Why wouldn't I? We're friends aren't we?”

Both Mary and Jace winced. The word seems to echo even they can feel it.

It was until then the news spread quickly to Vin’s ear. He bursted into laughter while pointing at you. “No fucking way! He fucking said that?!”

You and Mary immediately shut him the fuck up with your own fists.

You sulked in the corner as Mary sighed, “Well, that's that. He's a lost cause.”

“That's not his fault! He's just slow.” You bit your knuckles, crying comically. You then stop abruptly once an idea hits you. “I know! I'mma just dress it.”

She cocked her brow, “Dress what?” You pulled a condescending grin, “Dress to impress that's what.”

Shrugging to your idea, you later found yourself wearing a decent attire with a bouquet of flowers in your hand. Only for your knees to tremble out of nervousness. Again.

“You suck, (Name).” Mary deadpanned.

“Don't I know that already?!” You barked. You inhaled then stood up straight. “I can do this!”

“You can do this!” She cheered, raising one leg up.

Again you found yourself pacing away from the reserved place to meet Vasco. “I can't do this.” “Hey!” Mary exclaimed. This time she didn't follow you. Vin joined her, “Well that's a bummer- ugh!” He clenched his gut at Mary's brief elbow blow.

Your snickers scratched lazily on the concrete. You tossed the bouquet into the nearest trash bin. Your mind starts to pondered the irony of the male species' difficulty to ask a woman out. Even to spare even the smallest amount of their confession and it baffles you greatly. You know that this isn't your first rodeo. Even in elementary and middle school you failed the subject of love. You tried. You really tried. But they often claimed you as scary or that ‘girls can't act like boys, it's unattractive’. And although those words seem to do a number on you, it wasn't enough to change you entirely. Instead you embraced it and endure your crushes in silence.

You groaned and yelled to the sky, “All this because I like a fucking boy!!”

The birds gawked upon you, basically mocking you.

“Shut up!” You barked back, sitting down on one of the swings. Your shoulder slumped once more before you started swinging slowly.

“(Name)!”

You almost fly from your seat by the booming voice. You turned over your shoulder. “V-Vasco! Hey, man. My dude.” You stood up, clearing your throat and shoot him finger guns. “What...are you doing here?”

“I came to see you.” Vasco scratched his head and handed you a small card. “You dropped this. It has your name on it.”

You took it from him and read it through. You froze once you realise this is your card that comes with the flowers that you planned to give it to him. You decided to just brush it off subtly while trying to hide your disappointment, “Oh thanks. Nearly lost this…”

“Glad to help. Don't want that person to think it's from anyone else but you.” You couldn't help but smile at his words. You love that he's considerate. The size of his golden heart is what makes you fall for him. Too bad he's just too dense to see it. And come to think of it, maybe it wasn't too bad. You are grateful enough to be able to stand this close to talk to him. It was better to just shoot your shot and go the flow.

“Hey.” You started, more loosely this time. “Are you hungry? Maybe you and I can hit the ramen shop like right now? My treat.”

He blinked before beaming with joy at the mention of food. “Would I?”

Now that part settles it, you can now confirm that you and Vasco…are no close to being a couple, sadly. But you actually didn't complain. Although shutting Vin up is a hassle, you still get to see Vasco more often. Giving him your homemade goods is one of them.

You blinked twice before nodding, “Uh, yeah. Of course. Sorry about that." You reached for your handkerchief to wipe the mess off of him.

Jace watched in disbelief. “What? It's not a bomb?” Your neck cracked, turning to give Jace a death glare, veins popping on your forehead. “Bomb? What expired milk did you drink today?”

“Do you have more?” Vasco licked his finger.

You turn back with a happy grin, “Of course! I'll go get it right now.” You sprint away from the scene, not forgetting to give Jace a threatening gaze as he shivers with fear.

During lunch break Vasco devour your desserts like a starving man. Jace watched with anticipation as he spoke, “You know (Name) likes you right?”

Vasco nodded with mouthful, “Yeah! I like her too.”

“No, as in she like like you. She has a romantic crush on you, Vasco.” Jace corrected himself. Vasco paused mid chew as he processed the news.

“Huh?!” Food spat out of his mouth.

You're not pissed off. You're much worse, disappointed.

Hands on your hips, finger dangerously close to wagging and lecturing them.

His intimidating presence does nothing to deter how you feel-

Jake's face drops and his eyes fall to the ground.

Whether he thinks he did anything wrong is one thing, but disappointing you is more than enough for him to feel bad.

He bows, bending at the waist a full 90 degrees and then some, and asks for your forgiveness. Face sincere and of utmost seriousness no matter how petty the crime.

Samuel scoffs and leaves. He doesn't need this.

But he tosses and turns that night, daddy and mommy issues playing up. The need for approval and validation from someone he respects gnaws at him, and he doesn't sleep a wink.

The next day he returns to you, bags under his eyes, pretending to be unaffected by your previous disagreement yet trying to get back into your good graces with expensive gifts.

"Disappointed?" Goo echoes, blinking owlishly, as if he couldn't fathom that he could be disappointing to anyone.

He whines and pouts, and is close to throwing a tantrum. Obviously your words having an effect on him.

In the end he does mutter an apology though you doubt the sincerity, especially if the look in his eyes are anything to go by.

Gun ignores you though you see the defiant twitch in his jaw from your words.

He doesn't care, why should he.

Except you catch him staring at you the rest of the day or week or until whenever your ire ebbs away. There's a strange awkwardness to his being, like he doesn't know how he should act around you.

The apology doesn't come if he thinks it's undeserved and unneeded, but he also doesn't want to see that look in your eyes again.

Vin scoffs, pretends he doesn't care. Calls you a nag, a wet blanket, all sorts of frustrating names.

Yet the guilt eats away at him. Your eyes, the playful expression you usually wear is now just replaced with disappointment.

He tries to involve Mary to worm his way back into your good books, she tells him to piss off and eventually he comes to you, tail between his legs and a poorly formed apology (likely as a rap).

Ryuhei's eyes are suspiciously wet. You think he's sniffling, the tip of his nose turned pink and he's trying to keep a brave face but god, he feels like a complete failure.

He drops to his knees and immediately offers to commit seppuku. When you roll your eyes and tell him to stop being ridiculous, he says he will do anything to make this right. That he would rather die than ever disappoint you again.

DG, usually ruled by logic but too often bratty and arrogant, considers whether this is a hill worth dying on. It's not.

Considers whether it warrants an apology, and it does. But does he deliver? Not always. Lets you simmer until he presents you with a grand gesture and a winning K-Pop smile he reserves for award shows.

His charm works on you less than he'd like, but more than you'd prefer.

Johan looks as if he's been slapped, before turning on his heels and leaving.

It takes him a surprisingly short amount of time to come back, feeling contrite. He doesn't say sorry but the unspoken apology runs round and round his mind.

Instead he drifts to your side constantly like a shadow, trying to catch your eye, seek out some of your warmth and hoping for your forgiveness.

Regardless of what it is you're disappointed with, Vasco Tabasco thinks you are the best. A literal angel descended to Earth that has graced his life.

So if you're disappointed then whatever he is doing must be wrong and is worth apologising for.

He does just that. Offers to make up for it however you see fit. Completely heartfelt even if he doesn't know entirely why.
