AO3 is back up but I’m still writing Nimona headcanons

I feel like the main trio are all really bad at taking care of themselves 

Nimona can go a long time without eating drinking or sleeping so it's really easy for her to fall into a pattern of not taking care of herself until she’s sluggish and snappy

At first it was really hard for the boys to distinguish her food withdrawals from her normal chaos 

When they do figure it out they make sure she eats and drinks at least once a day even if it small

It took a minute for her to adapt to this because she views taking care of herself as a hobby

But after a while she realizes that they’re just looking out for her so she goes along with it

Every once and a while Bal gets hyper-fixated on certain projects which causes him to forget to eat and sleep

Nimona once asked Ambrosius why he doesn’t do anything to stop these habits to which he responded “Oh believe me Nim I’ve tried it’s better to just let him get it out of his system”

Nimona still didn’t understand this and tried to force Bal to get up and take care of himself 

Which just ended with Nimona being on the other side of a verbal thrashing and then quickly shoved out of Bal’s workspace

Ambrosius didn’t even bat an eye 

Just walked around Nimona into the room with some food and water and then quickly left him alone

After that Nimona started to leave Bal snacks and pillows in his workshop when he eventually crashed  

(And occasionally carrying him to his room when Ambrosius was too tired to carry him) 

Bal also forgets to charge his arm 

So it’s not uncommon for his arm to die and stay locked in that position 

One time Ambrosius walked into the kitchen to find Bal hunched in an awkward position over his coffee and he didn’t flinch 

Just gave him a straw and a kiss on his head before he left for work

Another time Nimona walked into the living room to find them cuddled on the couch 

And they start their normal rant of “Ew gross get a room” 

To which Ambrosius replied “I would if I could Nim” 

She was quietly informed that Bal fell asleep and his arm died shortly after and Ambrosius has been stuck like this for hours waiting for Bal to wake up

Nimona laughed so hard they almost woke Bal up

They started storing chargers all around the house after that 

So I have a headcanon that I kind of hinted at in my other post 

But I’m fully convinced that Ambrosius' shoulder is fucked after the movie (he also has scars because I said so)

Because no way in hell can this man take a blast like that to his shoulder and walk away perfectly fine 

Nah that man will be doing PT exercises for the rest of his life 

And this dork forgets to do his exercises until he’s literally on the floor writhing in pain

Bal has tried just about everything to get him to remember 

He’ll leave notes around the house, he’ll remind him before he leaves for work, writing it into his workout routine 

Nimona told him “Boss you’re being too soft” and quickly switched tactics 

Now you might be wondering what method Nimona used and that's simple he started blackmailing Ambrosius 

Nimona started to warn Ambrosius “If you don’t do your exercises I’ll tell boss what happened to the last slice of cake” or “I’ll release the video of you singing at the top of your lungs while cleaning the house” 

And the stupid thing is it worked 

Ambrosius always says shit like “I should have left you in that box on the side of the road” to which Nimona responds with “Nah you’d miss me too much”

He also had a bad habit of getting sucked into little projects like trying to rebuild the city and fixing all the brainwashing that's been going on since the institute was created

You know small tasks for one person

And this dork will stay locked in his office until Nimona and Bal drag his overdramatic ass out

He always makes a big deal about it too screaming shit like “Oh please help me the heroes of the realm are kidnapping me an innocent bystander while I was simply doing my job!”

I feel like Bal and Ambrosius have a lot of nicknames for Nimona “Nim” is the most common 

“Hun” and “kid” are used a couple of times but not nearly as often as the weird ones 

Like “tornado” “tsunami” “hurricane” and “forest fire”

And if we're getting really sappy “starlight”

Now if you're wondering where this one came from I’ll tell you 

When Bal and Ambrosius were little beans Bal called Ambrosius “sunshine” 

It was supposed to be ironic but after that he started calling Bal “moonbeam” 

And Ambrosius jokes that Nimona completes their little astronomy shtick 

She pretended to be grossed out and lets Bal hug her and Bal and Ambrosius pretended not to notice the tears on Bals shirt

i spent a lot of time when leon was a puppy just counter conditioning him to loud noises and yelling because i live with kinda loud people and didn´t want him to be scared of things like thunder/fireworks

1; Just curious, what is Meemaw Bucchi's preference when it comes to a partner? 2; All I imagine now is Malleus bringing a bisexual flag to his grandma to celebrate her finding love and his Grandma being very confused 😭

First of all: Maleficia would appreciate Malleus' kindness... But my goodness, she would have NO IDEA what that meant 🤣 she would be very confused!! All that would be left for Lilia, who would have to explain everything (which could take a while and would make her even more confused BUT SHE WILL GET IT! ...... Someday 😅).

Second: this answer may be long! I may end up going on too long on some subjects. Vovó Bucchi is still a character that I'm developing and details may change in the meantime!

I'm going to get one detail out of the way here, boys, girls, and non-binary pals are all valid and Vovó Bucchi loves you all ❤️😌

Well, there are a few things that are important to her before you have any kind of relationship with vovó bucchi.

- It has to be someone that Ruggie likes or approves of. He is her only family and the person she trusts the most... Of course, she won't stop seeing that person or spending time with them... But having her grandson's blessing is very important!

- Don't hurt Ruggie. She will have a place to hide your body and nobody's going to find it.

- A person who cooks well is also a good quality for her! And I say this because Mrs. Bucchi herself likes to have company in the kitchen!... Okay, not everyone can enter her kitchen besides the children and Ruggie himself... 😅 But that's because few people can keep up with her! She has a long history of practically working miracles with the little food they have access to... And many people have gotten in her way in the kitchen and wasted food that could have fed one or two more mouths. So having someone who proves that they can keep up with her and ON TOP OF THAT, not get in her way is a very positive thing.

-Take responsibility for what you said or did (ou para nós BRs: sustenta suas gracinhas). Did you say something you shouldn't have? Prove that you're sorry. Did you do something you shouldn't have? Deal with the consequences. She's already spent enough time with people who said they were sorry but kept making mistakes and hurting her, she doesn't have time for that anymore. Actions speak louder than a thousand words, so don't be surprised if she doesn't accept your apology right away.

- Is there something you believe in and will do no matter what, big or small? Are you going to work hard to get that high grade on that test? Do you want to turn the world upside down? Cause a riot? Go for it! You have her full support and she loves your determination!

- You have to like children or know how to deal with them. Vovó Bucchi always has a house full of children and from a very young age she learned and took care of them. So... If you go to visit her, know that you will have to share her attention with more... 8 or even more than 10 children there, and believe that the little ones will be the priority. 🤭 Good luck, they are all her littles brats~

- She will steal from you at some point. 🤷‍♂️ Especially at the beginning of the relationship, if you notice this she will be impressed, and maybe even give you back your things! (Don't worry, nothing she steals you will miss it... I think)

- She doesn't need your pity. Pity doesn't fill her or the little ones' stomachs, it doesn't bring money into the house, your "generosity" accompanied by pity is not welcome in her house... - Always be ready to help her escape or be chased because of her... I think it's easier for me to introduce her little by little with drawings, or maybe comics 👀

You ever have a moment where you reconsider something you thought a lot about in the past but then sort of turned your attention away from for a while, and your new perspective just blows the whole thing open?

Me thinking about russ and magnus during ATS/PB today after years of taking a break from HH/40K lore yielded one such series of revelations.

I was thinking about Betrayer and Russ' attempt to give Angron a lesson via the Night of the Wolf. I was thinking about Prospero Burns and Russ' belief that he's had a direct line to Magnus this whole time via Kaspar. I was thinking about that 'please'. And.

I know this is pretty much canon to the text but I've never before really Considered that one of Russ' motives in keeping this guy alive and sending him out on compliances with his Legion was (Russ believed at least) letting Magnus see the SW in action and hoping that this might influence him into trying to Avoid doing anything that might cause Russ to be sent after him.

In the past I've talked a lot about the SW keeping Kaspar around to see what would happen in terms of thinking the TS were up to something or going to do something to the Legion, which is very much the assumption the Chaos entity wanted them to make, but looking back I tbh think i slept on the concept of Russ, who canonically has taken out at least one of the Lost Primarchs in an event which is prefers not to speak (or at least the codex Strongly Implies that Russ has been used against another primarch before), and who also canonically went into the Night of the Wolf fully willing to die to make his point to Angron if only Angron could understand what he was doing.

I'm sort of compelled by the concept because in a sense Russ was letting (what he thought was) Magnus take a peek behind the barbarian mask he likes to put on, to see into a more genuine heart of his legion, letting his guard down a bit by allowing this obviously-compromised spy in. Much the same way he let the mask drop when he went to try and talk some sense into Angron, bringing up philosophy and reading and ideals that Russ' ignorant-but-noble barbarian persona would never admit to being interested in let alone reading.

And both times the gambit failed, in Magnus' case because it wasn't Magnus on the other end of the line, and in Angron's case because he was too far gone to really get what Russ was illustrating for him.

The whole thing was orchestrated so well, ironically giving the "proof" that Magnus was up to something via this sleeper agent spy that the SW were toting around with them, playing on Russ being curious enough to keep this guy around and connect the dots on the (false) links between this guy and the TS. I have this headcanon that Russ and Lorgar were actually fairly close, with Russ actually talking to Lorgar about Lorgar's writings, because he didn't seem surprised that Russ had read them and had thoughts on them in Betrayer, so I actually sort of like the idea that he had a hand in setting up the fall of Prospero? I like the tragedy of the idea that he at least had some input on the idea, being familiar enough with Russ to know he'd take the bait.

Which would make that a third time Russ got genuine with someone and had it either fail or be used against him...
