now, let's be fair to Malleus, he started out very politely! a dainty little knock on Idia's door. graciously allow a couple of minutes to give him a chance to realize that his rebellion is futile and all shall succumb in the end. then, when that doesn't work, a firmer but still unquestionably mannerly knock. then just straight-up haunting his shit

honestly, there was a surprising amount of Twst trying out just a little bit of horror movie in this one! like. you're having a nice cup of tea one minute and then it turns into Alice in Wonderland Does The Cube. everything's red for some reason. your friend's mom is actually a mass of giant shrieking arms rising from the depths to drown you in an ocean of chamomile. this is all a precursor to being hunted as the most dangerous game throughout a labyrinth by dopplegangers of your best friends. what's going on, Twst. are you okay.

When your father tried his best to provide for you but he worked all the time and even when he was home he was either tired or stressed and he’s always liked to get drunk to relax and cheer up. But you like the feeling of your father ruffling your hair so you accept it, and still you stand next to your mother just as silent and just as stoic as her during family gatherings. You wonder if it’s more telling that you know him better than he seems to himself or that you don’t know him as much as you wish you did, or that you don’t think about him all that much these days. #this fatal kiss #aroaessidhe 2024 reads #bisexual books #polyamorous books #his is so fun I enjoyed it a lot!#it’s reasonably low stakes and is cute and whimsical but with some darker elements #and some very endearing characters #There’s a few things I wanted answers about - but clearly it’s going to be a duology #so I guess I’ll have to wait. I feel like it *could* have wrapped things up as a standalone if it wanted to though #some nods to The Dark Tide too (the MC is from there)#I enjoyed all the queerness and bisexuality plus some brief interesting moments of gender thoughts even from the ostensibly cis MCs #(i say ostensibly cis - she does actually pretty explicitly say she has no feelings about gender but it's just easier to be a girl)#(also says she's love to be a big buff guy at some point. but it's not really explored)#I assume this will be a part of book 2 but uhhh I couldn’t stop thinking about alexi’s body. like. iykyk. r we gonna address that #also LOVE THE COVER

MORE!!#TAYLOR WANT SHEET METAL #can you imagine all the clan battlehammer weavers tearing their hair out trying to figure out how to fit dwarf trad clothing on a human #i neeeeeeed to stop using green as a prominent colour in all my drawings cuz i always end up hating the colour balance LMFAOAO #i'm halfway through sea of swords now and the way catti is written in it is so... weird.......#like she's normal and fun and acting like herself in all of the scenes where it's just her and drizzt #but then if they have to talk to any npc at all suddenly it's like a fuckin batman and robin situation #and drizzt is doing all the talking and catti is just his sidekick that occasionally interjects #it reeeally feels like it should be the other way around and both of their characters suffer #cuz drizzt is supposed to be quiet and kinda shy and cat is supposed to be talkative and extroverted. I hate and love that my comic scratches the ultimate itch of the sort of narrative I want to consume because on the one hand, I love working on it and it is fully my Essence. But on the other hand, when I want to unwind and am craving a particular Type Of Story only to remember that it doesn't exist I'm just like......do I gotta do everything myself?

#it's not even that gtw is like.....particularly original #I guess melville just Won at the setting and everyone else was like 'okay we don't gotta do anymore'#that's why I read whaling journals IT IS ALL THAT WILL PARTIALLY SCRATCH THE ITCH #that isn't my own comic #all I've got is melville adaptations / things about the essex which are basically clinging to melville too #(don't get me wrong I love moby dick but...i want a new story!!)#aaaand the North Water which I just....didn't like at all lol. the book and the show #and the terror....the terror has similar vibes to what gtw will be but I can only rewatch the terror so often

#just got offered eng 101 teaching in the spring as an alternative to the writing center #which means i need to Make A Choice (terrible)#cons: i already know this would be immensely stressful (new and unfamiliar responsibilities and so many interpersonal aspects)#and i'm already doing comps this spring #pros: chance to try college teaching. good resume item. i suspect this could be an opening to get into adjuncting at my university next yea #HOWEVER if i just want to try teaching i have an opening to do THAT at a local co-op-adjacent highschool next year. much lower stress #this would be more...trial by fire #BUT good experience. and possible foot in the door to work here later? which i would like IF i turn out to like freshman teaching #(i know i like tutoring and i do want to give teaching a try in some form but it's still a closed book to me right now)#SO. i think i should either decide today or tell the boss that i need a little time to think it over #we shall see i guess

I need scenes where Daryl explicitly shows that he loves Carol for all of who she is as a human. I know we know it, even though that feeling has been fading since the spin-off and even in parts of season 11. But I reallyyy need at least one scene where Daryl catches Carol doing something distinctly Carol and looks at her for a *prolonged* time with unambiguous love all over his face. And then he actively shows and tells her. Like the scenes where Aaron and Rosita see Carol putting herself through pain to kill the horse to feed Alexandria. I need to know that Daryl sees that in her. And I need to see him radiate intense love in her direction because she fucking needs it.
