Finally got round to doodling some of the Heartless crew again - been juggling some very intensive work and life stuff lately so it was therapeutic to get lost for a lil' while drawing this one. (Thanks again to everybody who voted in those polls a bit ago - The results were very interesting so I'm looking forward to drawing more of the most-voted characters sometime soon)

The man standing before him was a solid head and a half taller than Tango was, with short, summer-gold hair, the bangs of which occasionally wisped into his sky-colored eyes. He wasn’t as broad and muscle-y as some of the warrior-types he’d seen around town, but he still seemed to eclipse Tango’s sight-line of the street beyond; all presence, like the invasion of sunlight in dark places. There was a peaking of chainmail from beneath his tabard, a simple sword belt cinched around his waist. He carried himself in a way that seemed almost military, shoulders squared, feet solidly shoulder-width apart. He would have cut an imposing silhouette, if he didn’t manage to break the illusion with his beaming smile.

“Hello hello!” the man said brightly, leaning forward just slightly and tilting his head, an action that made him look less like a swordsman and more like an over-friendly dog. He offered a hand that very nearly swallowed Tango’s when he took it, and shook hands fiercely. “Pleasure to be of service, sir. James Solidarity -- friends call me Jim. Or Jimmy, if you like.”

you ever think about the fact that they stayed in the past for several days longer than they needed to and it’s very much implied that swaine was the one holding them back. bc I do

#twirls my hair in my fingers maybe I’m planning on writing a fic centered on swaine and young marcassin during those several days #very staunchly behind the idea that swaine likely didn’t know when the emperor died bc he’d already left hamelin #and there was no one to break the news to him. so the guilt of leaving marcassin alone on that day absolutely eats him alive inside #bc even now that he knows. he has to leave him again. marcassin is going to be alone for those 15 years whether he likes it or not.#swaine trying to comfort marcassin in the past while also burying his own grief while also fully aware that he has to leave him again #marcassin is aware that swaine is his brother bc. I mean he was there when the emperor called swaine his son #but is politely trying to ignore it #idk.
