The other day I was looking through Mario movie stuff (A.k.a how I spend most of my free time) and I came across this!

It’s more of a size chart but we still kinda get an idea of how tall everyone is in the movie….so yeah!

Okay, the height difference between Mario and Peach has me convinced that Mario is definitely shorter than 5'1 in this universe. I added a red line here to represent how tall Mario would actually be without his hat:

If each line represented one foot, Mario would be about 5'4, but if that were the case Princess Peach would be 7 feet tall, and Bowser would be almost 12 feet tall (if we're including his shell.)

It is commonly believed that Princess Peach is 6 foot. So, If we recalculate accordingly... that would mean that each line represents roughly 10.3 inches. Based on this assumption, I present to you the new canon heights of the Mario cast:

Embarrassment welled up inside Lucile, the same feeling she had as a child when she felt out of place. Women her age usually had several children by now. She sighed, disappointment coloring her words. "Not of my own."

Lucile nervously steepled her hands, tapping the tips together anxiously. This was something she had always hoped to discuss with her own mother, but with her gone...

"Lucile." Nia’s voice cut through her thoughts, pulling her back to the present. She realized she had spaced out without responding.

"Oh—uh, you're right," she stammered. "We just got caught up in the rain. I'll make sure she rests more."

Nia’s face had hardened into a stony expression, her brow furrowed. The look made Lucile feel like a child about to be scolded. She tried to hide the anxious fidgeting of her fingers.

"Lucile, come here."

Nia's tone was firm as she ushered her toward one of the empty tables. "I’m going to ask you again—what’s wrong?"

"Woman to woman, I can tell something is off. Whatever judgment you might face outside of here, I promise it won't fall on you while it's just us in this room."

"Forgive me, I…" Lucile struggled to maintain the polite tone she had practiced, but exhaustion and stress broke through. Her shoulders slumped. "These past months have been awful…"

What began as a small confession about her and Josephine being alone, struggling to find work and living in the woods, snowballed into a torrent of emotion.

Her parents' deaths, her brother's betrayal, their neglect, and the harsh reality of leaving the home her father had meant for her all poured out in an avalanche of words.

Nia listened patiently, occasionally nodding. At one point, she got up from the table and poured them both glasses of wine. Lucile stared at the purple liquid in Nia's glass, her own glass already empty from stress-drinking it all.

"I know what that feels like, Lucile. You're not alone," Nia said, her voice a soothing balm against the raw edges of Lucile’s despair. She gently rested her chin on her hands.

"You do?" Lucile perked up.

"Of course."

"My people were forced away from their home years ago. We walked for miles, and thousands of my people perished from starvation, disease, abused by the control of US the army."

Lucile's eyes widened in shock. She hadn't heard anything about this, not even in her history classes with her father.

My pet peeve about Forgotten Realms' Drow lore is that despite being told that Drow Society is this super restrictive, matriarchal society with reversed gender roles, we are rarely shown Drow househusbands. In fact, most of the named male Drow characters are portrayed as either career soldiers or arcane spellcasters. This is explained by saying that drow society, as it revolves around the worship of Lolth, regards arcane spellcasting as far inferior to divine spellcasting of clerics, and that while only women are allowed to have high-ranking positions in their armies like the generals and the lieutenants, the grunts and the footsoldiers are mostly composed of men.

My problem with that is..... One, you can't claim that you're reversing the gender dynamic in your fantasy setting and have what's considered to be "a man's work (derogatory)" in said setting be wizardry and the military, two jobs whose real-world counterparts (academia and the military) are *also* considered "a man's job (complimentary)" and are highly male-dominated fields in the real world, come on.

And two, how has this supposedly super-strict matriarchy sustained itself for so long? We've got this class of abused, oppressed, and very rightfully disgruntled gender, many of whom are a. combat-trained and has to vastly outnumber their female superiors, due to how the whole "military hierarchy" thing works, or b. can shoot fireballs and blow up stuff with their minds. Meanwhile, the Drow women mostly stick to religion and politics and lounging about in boudoirs in fantasy dominatrix gear. So what's stopping the men from staging a rebellion? Not to belittle the power that religion and politics hold in a pseudo-feudalistic medieval pastiche society, but I always assumed the reason the church and the crown was so powerful in medieval Europe was because they controlled the military!*

(*don't quote me on this, I'm not a history major)

Look, I don't mind depictions of fantasy bigotry in fiction (I quite enjoy them actually!), and it's possible to reverse the oppressed and the privileged class in a fictional society so that's opposite from real life in a way that it still poses pertinent questions about real-world oppression in our real-world society (e.g. Egalia's Daughters) , but I don't think Forgotten Realms quite manages to do that. If anything, it's weirdly reminiscent of that "feminists don't *actually* want to work jobs, they just want the men to do all the work for them and for women to reap ALL the benefits" antifeminist rhetoric ☹️

(To be clear, I'm not saying that Ed Greenwood and R.A. Salvatorre are misogynists, just that they either were confused about how sexism actually operates in the real world, or that they had some unexamined biases and hangups surrounding feminism that they perhaps failed to address.)

I don't mind fantasy bigotry in my fiction, but I want my fantasy bigotry to be realistic or at least believable, y'know?

He would collect them and Stick them in a ball of wax until the ball was completely covered in spineies. After he'd take the rest to make a body, he would call them mace men because they look like maces with a body. He soon started to model them after cave drawings of primitive urchin

Nah because lately I have seen so many people unironically say “AFABS can’t identify as transfem, only AMAB and intersex people can!” and like

It’s so telling that they don’t know jack shit about what being intersex is or is like Intersex people can be AFAB. In fact it’s SIGNIFICANTLY more common that intersex people are either AFAB or AMAB, only having that they’re intersex listed on their birth certificate and not having male or female put on there is really fucking rare in comparison to the number of intersex people who are AMAB or AFAB

Intersex =/= right in between male and female (in fact the intersex variation that is *exactly* in between the two does not exist in humans from what I understand)

Intersex =/= ambiguous genitalia

Intersex is a term that covers a wide variety of conditions. While there *are* intersex people who where born with ambiguous genitalia (many of which have surgery forced on them to make them fit more in the boxes of male and female so they can assign them one or the other at birth) a lot of intersex people also do not have that. There’s intersex people whose difference is in their hormones, or chromosomes, or gonads, in a way that doesn’t show an immediately obvious difference in genitalia. Hell, a lot of those groups of intersex people don’t have it confirmed that they are intersex for years, sometimes even DECADES. There are several variations that don’t show symptoms until puberty or adulthood, and some who don’t cause overtly outward symptoms at all and the only way people find out is through medical tests.

And guess what? It’s not particularly easy to get a test for that shit. A lot of doctors will not listen to patients who say they suspect they might be intersex unless they believe the person is being damaged by their symptoms. Hell, there’s intersex people who NEVER get diagnosed because of this.

So, long story short, if you think all intersex people are allowed to use a label (like the example given at the beginning), don’t say people of a certain AGAB can’t use the same label as a whole because intersex people can be either of the two binary AGABs.

Hi, Anon! Usually I would do requests (my asks DO say that I can do them) but I'm going to have to reject this one :') have a not-so-grand doodle I did of an Empires Scott and Gem figuring out their powers as compensation.

The wording also confused me slightly since I do consider my Scott to be slightly more fem-presenting / not totally gender conforming. I'm happy to do art for fictive, kin, irl, fictpara* / fiction-sourced veritbonds* that are trans or don't have a gender aligning to canon but the wording confused me a bit.

(* ID and MaDD terms which is A Bit More than just an imaginary friend. As an IDer myself, I do have some that diverge from canon so I'm more than happy to draw for these purposes too)

oof well. Ok. some mods noticed some discrepancias in his runs specifically his drop rates (ender eyes and blaze rods i'm pretty sure and i think piglin trades too) and made the decision to take his runs down and stuff, dream initially denied the accusations and like accused some of the mods of being biased against him he hired some guy to run the numbers independently (idk exactly what happened there sorry) blah blah blah and basically for his mc videos there was a piece of code that causes higher drop rates to make the videos faster to record, he thought it was just for a certain type of thing like just for videos he wanted to record because the developer of the code - i think - said that was how it worked, he later backtracked on that, and it was revealed that the code ran for his videos AND speedruns and influenced the drop rates for both, meaning the mods were right to have taken his runs and WRs down so like . it was unintentional cheating but yeah he cheated
