Neither of them are memetic.
If an idea affects you via you learning or hearing it, and hurts or modifies your thinking, and then forces you to spread it, then it is a memetic, infohazardous cognitohazard. but most examples of any one category aren't all three

Hi! Hope you're doing well! I just wanted to check in and see if there is an ETA on epubs for anyone who's ordered them recently - I ordered epubs of both Fox's Tongue and Kirin's Bone, and The Skin Stealer's Son on the 31st of May but haven't gotten them yet. No pressure! I totally understand if you're just inundated with orders or busy, I was just curious 🤗 Anyway, thank you so much, hope everything is going good!
Very very soon! I ran into some issues with a corrupted file, which meant I had to go back to the version before that, which didn't have the final typo fixes because of course it didn't so I've been cleaning those up all week, blerg. I'm 90% done now--hoping to finalize the epub tomorrow and start getting them out the day after, assuming my computer doesn't eat things again. Since I'm now compulsively saving to three locations every few hours that should hopefully not be an issue again.

was inspired by a multiple people but especially @sqrkyclean to make a fursona who is ready for the beach!! they're a shark dog hybrid and they do deliveries of all sorts, from food to mail to groceries to medicine! they have a passion for fashion, secretly they want to learn to play volleyball or tennis but they're too shy to join a team, and they can also make a pretty good cocktail! their flower motif is supposed to be reminiscent of the humble rhododendron :) edit: unsure if it'll stick but i'm tentatively naming them Rhodie!

#normal things to think after your doctor tells you you need to get a blood test re-taken bc you mistimed your dose#I'm just. i am SO fucking exhausted by mainstream media opinions lately and i don't understand why they're frequently SO different from my own? like i genuinely don't think i am approaching anything from that unique of a perspective as a viewer? maybe it's just that i'm too easy to please when it comes to stories or something but like. how is the mainstream, widely accepted consensus on yellowjackets season 2 is that it's "bad" and "doesn't work as a season" and is "riddled with problems." literally what the fuck are you talking about. this is the most fun i have had watching television uhhhhh literally Ever? you're telling me people hated Burial? how? why? like i don't...i just don't GET it. and i'm not playing dumb for kicks here im like genuinely honest to god confused. that was the single best episode of television I've ever watched in my life. like i get that people have different opinions about things and that's fine but HOW am i in the minority here what am i missing

Imagine a person who only consumes Batman-related media. That is, they only watch movies and TV shows that have Batman in them, only read books that are novelisations of Batman media, only play licensed Batman video games, and so forth. This is not so absurd an idea; Batman-related media is sufficiently popular, varied and widespread that restricting one's media consumption in this way is completely feasible. However, I trust we can agree that if you actually do this, you will be left with very strange ideas about what popular media looks like.
The next step in this analogy is undestanding that if the only tabletop RPG you're acquainted with is Dungeons & Dragons, you have the same grasp of the tabletop roleplaying hobby as our hypothetical Batman Guy has of popular media.
#Don't get me wrong#I love D&D#I'm part of a campaign right now#Half of my OCs started as D&D characters#but yeah there's just so much more to RPGs#and all of the different rule sets are interesting#I played VtM myself#both with the rocks-papers-scissors and the deck-of-cards mechanics#I've tried a variation of Laser and Feelings where your character has a target number#that you try to roll over or under depending on the situation#I ran both Blades in the Dark and Scum & Villainy which include your home base as a sort of extra character for the party#and ways for you to 'pass down' the base to future characters as a way to re-spec#I've tried You Awaken In A Strange Place which is all sorts of odd and kooky#but probably the hardest game to play when your playgroup isn't the GREATEST at improv....#We just started up World Wide Wrestling which is a wacky RPG where you're pro wrestlers#and the wrestling promotion is essentially its own character (much like the home base for BitD or S&V)#I've also combined the RPG Gravity RIP (basically F-Zero) with S&V to create a space sport in-universe#My hubby started up a play-by-post original game based in the X-Men universe back when message boards (outside of reddit) were still popula#There's also solo RPGs to try out#If D&D is not your thing try a different TTRPG#If D&D IS your thing look for other fantasy RPGs to branch out into#so many possibilities#LycoRogue's added two cents in the tags#includes image#includes image ID#includes image description#described#TT RPGs#reblog

as kids who love horror and like theatre enough to repeated do that, brooke rodgers & zeke matthews getting to do that true combo event: i mean, trick-or-treat / becostumed halloween larping of course, but also putting together &/or putting on any event wherein there's Decorating an Environment to be hallowscary....making some form of haunted house walkthrough deal, manning your own trick-or-treat stop and making it into an Experience for anyone, throwing a halloween party that is Not a winetasting vibe Yes babadooks Absolutely going all-in on the Theme beyond just "idk have a costume Maybe"

why did I only just find out TODAY that if you block someone, it only blocks them from interacting with your main blog... AND THAT THEY CAN STILL SEE AND INTERACT WITH ALL YOUR SIDEBLOGS UNLESS YOU GO INTO EACH OF YOUR SIDEBLOG'S SETTINGS ON DESKTOP AND MANUALLY BLOCK EACH BLOG INDIVIDUALLY THERE TOO??
