Helena and Ramon both acting like they know Chris best, like they know what's best for him, but not only consistently treating him like he's still a little kid that can't do things himself, also guilting him into agreeing with them on their decisions and opinions. Contrasted with Eddie respecting Chris's boundaries, his decisions, and his independence, and actually treating him like the teenager he is by actually communicating with him instead of talking at him. The way he so clearly learned from his parents' mistakes and decided he wouldn't be like them, because he knows how it felt to have them as parents. And how he got Chris out of their house the second he realized they really were doing the same things to Chris they were doing to him. Just. Something about breaking cycles of abuse and generational trauma and the way you either learn to not be or become your parents. And Eddie chose not to be like them because he loves Chris so much and can finally see that he deserved better too, that he couldn't let Chris go through that. Because that's his kid.

Melusine creator au where while foul legacy is away for whatever reason someone finds and recognizes you while hanging out with the other melusines qnd end up getting jumped by like 10 melusines when they try to hurt you.

they WILL protect their sibling!!! no matter where you came from, you're still family

Foul Legacy and the rest of your friends have slowly begun trying to get you used to the outside world again, for a breath of fresh air more than anything. they're not taking you to the city apart from Neuvillette smuggling you in from time to time, but they want you to be able to explore the wilderness of Fontaine without fear. at least all the creatures and animals seem to expect, even those from the Abyss. it's the people they need to worry about, the overzealous hunters still scouring the land for the vanished Creator, or even just the Treasure Hoarders looking to make a quick pile of mora. so a few other Melusine always tag along with you, usually the ones visiting from above ground like Sedene or Sigewinne. they'll protect you- they'll always protect one of their own!

the trouble comes when Legacy is away on Harbinger duties, leaving you with not one, but two headpats from both himself and Childe. you're accompanied by more of your siblings than usual, all heading out to different locations but wanting to spend time with each other- when an arrow suddenly whizzes past your head and buries itself in a nearby tree trunk. the Melusine yelp, several little heads turning towards a very smug hunter holding a bow, laughing and pointing at you, at the familiar scars all over your body. they're clever, you'll give them credit for that- not just anyone can recognize the Creator as a Melusine- but not quite smart enough to give any thought to the several other sea slug creatures surrounding you

Mamere, the shyest of them all, points her paintbrush at the hunter and the Melusines simultaneously jump and tackle them with a furious cry. you don't even have to do anything, a few others hanging back to make sure you're alright, but you still go around and tend to them all one by one

by the time Foul Legacy finds you, there's a very unconscious hunter on the ground and a group of very proud Melusine
