             Your heart hammered in your chest as you clung to the wall of the back alley, hiding in the shadows to the best of your ability. Akuma attacks were scary enough to watch on TV, but experiencing one yourself was absolutely terrifying.  Everything was loud – the thunderous roar of the akumatized villain, the adrenaline-fueled cries of Ladybug and Cat Noir, the frightened shrieks of victims and passersby. You panted heavily as you sank to the ground, tucking your knees against your chest and willing yourself to appear as small as humanly possible. All you wanted to do was hide. Utter helplessness stabbed at your heart, urging a round of tears to well up in your eyes.

           A wave of something washed over the city, and you gasped at the sudden serenity you felt in the air. Rising to your feet, you tentatively glanced around the corner to find the streets full of normal, non-victimized citizens. A sigh of relief fell from your lips at the realization that the miraculous heroes must have defeated the villain once again.

           “Are you alright?” came a soft, soothing voice from your right. You jumped at the sudden noise, turning to face one of the heroes that Ladybug and Cat Noir must have called in for backup. Viperion, his name was, if you remembered correctly. The snake hero. Damn, he was so much more attractive up close. You’d only seen him at a distance before, across town or on TV. But with him here, standing in front of you, you were likely to lose yourself in his electric blue eyes, gazing at you tenderly as though you were a close friend instead of just a civilian.

           “I’m fine,” you finally managed to exhale. “I ran over here to hide. The villain didn’t see me.”

           “I’m glad you’re not hurt,” Viperion smiled softly, and damnit if his tone didn’t send a chill up your spine.

           “Thanks for your help, Viperion,” came Ladybug’s familiar voice, and you turned to see her approaching from the left. “Oh, hey there. Are you okay?”

           You nodded. “Yes, I’m okay, thank you. You guys were amazing out there.”

           She smiled sweetly. “Just doing our jobs, but it’s nice to be appreciated.” She then turned to Viperion. “Thank you so much for your help. We wouldn’t have been able to capture the akuma without you.”

           The snake hero bowed politely. “It was my pleasure, Ladybug. I suppose you’ll be taking my miraculous back now?”

           Ladybug nodded. “I’m afraid it’s time.”

           “I should go then,” you murmured. As much as your curiosity was eating at you, you understood that their true identities absolutely must remain secret, even from a single random citizen.

           “Thank you,” Ladybug nodded towards you, and you returned it. You crept away from the alley, sauntering through town and making your way home.

           Moments later, a hand grasped your forearm, and you turned around with a gasp. The hand belonged to Luka Couffaine, your friend’s twin and your long-harbored crush.

           “Where did you come from?” you inquired, your eyes darting behind him towards the alley.

           “I was so worried about you,” he murmured instead, taking your hands in his.

           “What?” you questioned, tilting your head in confusion. “Why?”

           “I thought the villain had gotten you,” he admitted. “I looked for you in the crowd, but I couldn’t find you.”

           What? Luka was looking for you?

           “I was hiding,” you explained, ignoring the heat rising to your cheeks as he tightened his hold on your hands. “Why were you looking for me?”

           The softest blush dusted his cheeks, and he ducked his head in the cutest way possible. “I wanted to make sure you were safe.”

           Warmth spread through your core as you gazed at the blue-haired boy. You gnawed at your lower lip, feeling a surge of confidence as you stepped closer to him.

           “Why were you so concerned with my safety?” you inquired, standing close enough that when Luka lifted his head, you could feel his breath on your face.

           Electric blue orbs bore into yours, and you felt your knees weaken. The intensity of his gaze sent a shiver down your spine, but you forced yourself to remain upright and confident.

           “I like you,” he murmured softly, lacing his fingers through yours.

           “You do?” you whispered back, your eyes darting between Luka’s eyes and lips.

           He dipped his head, resting his forehead on yours. “Yes, I do.”

           “I like you, too,” you informed him, removing your hands from his in order to place them on his chest.

           His hands found your hips, and his breath ghosted over your lips. You watched his gaze drop to your lips before meeting your eyes once again.

           “Can I kiss you?” You barely heard his voice, your eyes already closing from the proximity. You managed a nod, exhaling a sigh as his lips pressed tenderly to yours. Warmth flooded your chest at the contact, spreading through your belly before settling in your groin. Your cheeks flushed in embarrassment, but as Luka’s grip on your hips tightened, you found yourself growing more and more comfortable in his arms.

           When you finally approached your front door, your fingers trembled as you fumbled with your keys. You hoped he didn’t notice as you struggled to insert the key into the lock before finally managing to click it open. He followed suit as you opened the door and stepped into the apartment, his soft gaze wandering across your furniture and belongings.

           “Would you like something to drink?” you offered awkwardly, standing in the middle of the kitchen. “I’ve got water and tea, or I could make some coffee.”

           Luka shook his head, padding closer until he stood before you. “All I need is you.”

           You exhaled a shaky breath at his words, gazing up into his cerulean eyes. “Are you sure?”

           In lieu of a verbal reply, he lifted a hand to cradle the side of your face, bringing your lips to his. You melted into the kiss, your eyes fluttering closed as you pressed back against him. Your hands rested on his chest as his other hand found the small of your back, pulling your figure to his. He began walking backwards, his lips still tangled with yours, leading you out of the kitchen. He managed to find the hallway before he reluctantly broke the kiss.

           You offered a nod, claiming his lips as your fingers fisted lightly in his jacket, keeping him close as you walked him towards your room. You reached blindly behind you to turn the knob, kicking the door open as you led Luka inside. He spun you around, closing the door and pinning your back to it. I know it's not really the right chapter for me to be asking this but:

I get you keeping a third of the secondary heroes since their powers really click with the personalities, but what made you decide to keep Max as the horse and change everybody else? I feel like out of the ones you kept he's the one that fits the least-

To start, I assigned Max the Horse Miraculous back before I was planning on having all the Miraculouses in the field. At that point, the only "extras" beyond the main 5 I was going to have were Luka/Viperion, Kagami/Ryuko, and Max/Pegasus.

This three way kwami swap wouldn't really work, because the Snake was pivotal in defeating Desperada, which as an akuma after Jagged Stone and guitarists, it made the most sense for the center character to be Luka. While other Miraculouses could've finished off Ikari Gozen, I knew it had to be Kagami's debut episode, and I knew Max would be the hero in "Robostus" to deal with Markov. While Kagami probably could've used the horse (since Marigold had Venom to stop Ikari Gozen), I had a set way for Max to deal with Markov as Pegasus, so everything just slid into the three keeping their Miraculouses.

Maybe I could've thought a little longer to make it work, but at the time, the idea of Kagami and Max having a kwami swap never even crossed my mind, and if it did, I probably would've dismissed it because then it would've left Luka as the only one not to swap (besides Adrien). Personally, I would've felt off balanced. I especially didn't even consider swapping out the Snake, Dragon, or Horse for one of the zodiacs that, at the time, I had no intention of using. Idk why but it's like a wall was there preventing me from even thinking in that direction.

By the time I decided to add the rest of the zodiac, I had JUST FINISHED "ROBOSTUS". So kinda too little too late lol.

I'm not sure what Miraculous I'd give him if I had absolute free range. Maybe the snake, ignoring how essential it was in "Desperada". "StarTrain" did try to imply that the user of the Horse Miraculous needed a good grasp on geography, which is "why" it's suited for someone smart like Max:

But then it also implied that Max messed it up lol.

I think they kinda dropped that idea once other people started using it (like, how would Monarch even know the exact longitude and latitude of his akuma victims to use Voyage to teleport his akumas?).

I do kinda want to draw the Kept Their Canon Miraculous Club kids in each other's Miraculouses though. That is a six way kwami swap (seven if I add in poor Alix).

"You want me to patrol?" Luka asked, staring down at the snake miraculous being held out to him.

Ladybug nodded. "Yeah! Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be great at it!"

That wasn't what he'd been thinking about, actually. Taking the miraculous from her hand and putting it on - something she looked oddly pleased about - he pressed, "I don't mind, but why do you want me to do it?"

The miraculous shifted into its disguised state, a light coming off to bring Sass back into existence. The kwami reclined back like he was lounging in an invisible chair, then waved a paw and replied, "Public opinion."

Luka stared, still feeling lost.

Ladybug tilted her head in Sass's direction, continuing, "It's hard for snake heroes to gain any favor from the public. Real snakes are scary for people and no one can understand your power more than you can."

He vaguely understood that. To everyone else, the snake's powers weren't particularly flashy and the only one who got to experience the reset timelines was him. He'd never particularly considered how people thought about it as he didn't really care, but he acknowledged that the two were making sense.

"I care about all my heroes," Ladybug added, putting her hands on her hips, "and I want the public to care about them too. I'm sure all you need to do is go out there, put on a little snake charm, maybe tell a few stories about your timelines, and everyone will get that Viperion does great work just like everyone else, if not greater."

He couldn't be sure if she'd added on the end because she meant it, or because she could only gauge his success rather than his time and effort. The thought that she considered him a hard enough worker that he could outpace others made him smile.

"I'll do it. Thank you, Ladybug."

She beamed. "No, thank you." She took his wrist with the bangle in both hands and lifted it to her chest level, as if reciting a prayer to it. "I have my own things to do, but I know you'll do a good job with or without me!"

He nodded obediently. "Is there anything else I should know?"

"No! Or—" She paused, pursing her lips. It was the face of someone who felt like they were forgetting something. "Mm, not know, but..."

She pulled out her yoyo, popping it open and slipping her hand inside. Her tongue stuck out to the side as she searched for whatever she was looking for, at one point putting her whole forearm in. When the movement stopped, she lit up with a delighted, "Aha!" and lifted out a folded sheet of paper. She unfolded it to give it a quick check, then happily handed it over to him.

It was a map of Paris, lines snaking across with numbered indicators and circled locations. He would've assumed it was Ladybug's that she was letting him borrow if not for the "Property of Viperion" written in the corner, both 'i's dotted with hearts.

It was cute.

Ladybug sidled up next to him, pointing to the various parts of the map to explain, "This is the quickest way to get around the city while still making sure you're being thorough. The circled spots are where you can meet with a lot of people at once; great for public image. Even Chat doesn't know these."

"Really?" Despite the teasing tone in her voice, he knew she wasn't lying.

"He doesn't need it. He's a cat and people love cats." She rolled her eyes in faux exasperation, then nudged him with a playful smile. "We snakes and ladybugs have to stick together, right?"

He smiled back. He had no idea where this whole conversation of hers had come from, but he nodded and agreed, "Right."

And with that, she was ready to go, stepping away and waving him goodbye before heading off. Luka waved back, but felt eyes on him and turned his head to see Sass staring at him with a knowing expression.

"...What?"

He learned that day that Sass hissed when chuckling.

Patrolling was entirely different from fighting akuma, Viperion learned. There wasn't any real tension so long as he didn't find anything, and it felt like it served a nice role in getting him further acclimated to his hero self. He could jump and travel around easily enough when he was called upon, but it didn't escape him how his jumps grew more confident and his landings more solid as time went on.

Whenever he came across a circled area on the map, he would do as Ladybug had recommended and talk to the various civilians he'd find there. Unlike what he imagined would happen with Ladybug or Chat Noir, he had to check on them first rather than being called over for pictures or comments. It didn't bother him beyond the concern that he wasn't doing as much as Ladybug asked, but he couldn't verify until he went back to her.

Time passed smoothly enough, Viperion mentally checking off the map's numbers as he went. Near the end of the patrolling path happened to be around Marinette's house too, so he was in a good mood.

He was within eyesight of the place when someone suddenly called out, "Hey, Viperion~!"

He almost faltered, looking out towards the familiar voice to see Marinette on her balcony and excitedly trying to wave him down. He smiled unconsciously, feeling the natural pull she always had on him that urged him closer, but snapped out of it when he remembered that he was Viperion at the moment. He was supposed to be a stranger to her.

Taking one more look at his map, he noted the circle - oddly enough - right around the bakery. He supposed it could've been referring to the park nearby, but regardless, he was meant to be talking to civilians and Marinette was indeed a civilian.

If it wasn't what Ladybug had in mind, he'd twist the rules just this once.

Giving Marinette a look to convey his intent, he waited for her to step back before leaping towards her, allowing him enough space on the balcony to safely land. It was equally helpful that some of the various things on the surface had been moved in such a way that he'd had a clear place to drop onto.

"Hey... citizen." Wow, that sounded bizarre. "Can I help you?"

She giggled - cute - and nodded at him. Beckoning to him, she stepped back towards the entrance to her bedroom. "Yeah. Come with me for a minute."

She was so forward about it that Viperion genuinely wondered if this was just something that happened with heroes, or only with Marinette specifically. Perhaps Ladybug had even been invited inside before?

He couldn't bring himself to refuse her, so he followed her down onto her bed, then down the stairs to the main part of her room. He watched her walk across and bend down to the chest near her chaise lounge, her hands fiddling with the latch to open it. She reached inside and pulled out something teal, but he couldn't quite see what it was with her body obscuring it.

Marinette, careful not to show him what was in her arms, walked over to a full-body mirror nearby. Finally turning to him, she held up the object and asked, "What do you think?"

Viperion's jaw dropped. There in her arms was a Viperion plush and, judging from his own reflection in the mirror, she'd even gotten the smaller details right. He got the distinct feeling that she had looked at him more than he'd looked at himself just to ensure that the plush was accurate.

"Wow, it's..." He approached, reaching out but not feeling able to touch the plush, as if he wasn't worthy of it. At Marinette's encouragement, he gingerly held one of the little arms and gave it a squish to test its softness. "This is incredible work."

"Thanks." She beamed, swaying her hips and looking pleased with herself. "I try to make one of everyone, but this one's my favorite."

He looked at her questioningly, touched yet confused, but she wasn't meeting his eyes anymore. Her gaze turning back at the chest, she gently placed the plush in his arms and returned to her collection to start pulling more of her work out.

Viperion glanced at the stuffed imitation of him, unsure of how to handle it but doing his best to give it support. Marinette must've seen him at some point while setting out plushies, given the otherwise random giggle she'd let out.

After roughly a minute, she'd finished, sitting in the middle of the two groups she'd set out and spreading her arms out above them. Indeed, there was a group of plush superheroes to one side of her and even a group of plush akuma to the other. If he really eyed their details, he could tell which had been made when she was just starting out and which she'd done recently once she had experience, but it was all equally impressive to him.

Bringing the plush with him, he sat down in front of her and let it sit on his lap. He couldn't care less what he'd looked like, too busy admiring her work. His face must've shown it without him saying anything, as she puffed her chest out like she was basking in the unspoken praise.

Then, his eyes locked on something purple, black, and out of place amongst the heroes. In any other circumstance, he probably wouldn't have focused or commented on it, but it was also of him: specifically, Silencer, his akumatized self who had relentlessly chased down Bob Roth and stolen the voices of multiple people, including Ladybug herself. Bitter memories rushed back to him of waking up after the fact and fearing what might've happened while he'd been under someone else's control, the worst being if he'd hurt Marinette in some way

"That's an akuma," he said flatly. His own tone caught him off guard, but Marinette either didn't notice or didn't mind his disdain for that particular plush.

She followed his gaze to the mini Silencer in question. Rather than realizing that she'd made a mistake, she smiled, picking up the plush and setting it on her lap. Hand resting on the soft helmet on its head, she looked at him and explained, "Yeah, but... he's a hero to me."

She couldn't keep saying things like that to him without elaboration. He could only take so much without letting his civilian self show.

Thankfully, she elaborated this time, "People at my school get akumatized all the time; sometimes right in front of me. I have to run away from them as fast as I can, because even if they're not after me, I'm still another potential target for them." She turned the plush so she could look at its face, her eyes going soft as she continued, "Silencer was the first time someone got akumatized to protect me; when I felt honored to be protected. He didn't want my attention either, he wanted to get revenge because of what Bob Roth did."

Viperion hadn't known that. He'd had a brief discussion with Marinette about something he'd apparently said, but he'd been needed on stage and couldn't finish any sort of conversation with her. It warmed him greatly, knowing that she appreciated him even as an akuma.

"Sure, he was still another one of Hawk Moth's akuma, so Ladybug had to take care of him," she acknowledged, "but I think he's a little misunderstood, like you."

"Like me?"

She nodded, bringing back her point from earlier. "That's why the Viperion plush is my favorite. You're the least popular out of everyone, but I bet you do so much work during your Second Chances. Even though you should be getting more credit for it, no one notices until you're going around—" She gestured between them, indicating their current situation. "—like this."

He grew quiet, already seeing the connection. His heart sank at the thought.

"...It's relatable," she whispered with a sad smile, her fingertips trailing across the top ridge of the plush Silencer's helmet, "not being noticed for what you can do, people seeing you at your surface level..."

Shifting, Viperion held his plush self to his chest and moved within arm's reach of her. With his free hand, he reached out, cupping her cheek to tilt her face up to him.

Quietly, but firmly, he told her, "For what it's worth, I think you deserve to be noticed for all of you, not just the part that people decide to see."

It was definitely pushing the boundaries of what he should be "allowed" to do as a hero, but at its core, Viperion thought that that's what a hero was meant to do. Saving Paris was only the surface level of what people saw heroism as: the deeper, more important part was to care for the emotional well-being of the civilians.

He'd already gone through akumatization once and he'd never wish such an experience on Marinette. Keeping her happy was a top priority for him, both before and now, regardless of how she felt about him.

Her mouth curving back into the smile he'd missed in its short time away, Marinette reached up and placed her hand over his. "Thank you. Sorry if I brought the mood down."

"This is my job—" It wasn't, not in the way she'd be thinking of anyway. "—and it's not much compared to what you did. Thanks for appreciating me."

She nodded, eyes shining with her own gratefulness. There seemed to be more that she wanted to say, but she dropped his hand and shook her head to rid herself of it. Regretfully, she admitted, "I shouldn't keep you any longer."

He nearly blurted out that she could keep him forever if she wanted, but he held back. Equally as regretful as her, he returned the Viperion plush to her waiting hands.

Marinette took it, taking the plush in her free hand and scooting out of the way. The movement left a Marinette-sized space where she'd been, which is where she decided to set the plush down. Putting the Silencer plush back where he was before, she also took the Ladybug plush and let it settle next to the Viperion one.

It left the two as the only ones in the once-empty spot.

"They look good together," she commented, looking over her shoulder at him.

He stared, not sure how to feel about his crush having an opinion on his relationship with someone else, but he didn't express it. She clearly thought highly of his partnership with Ladybug in a way no one else did, which he considered a positive.

"...Yeah." He grinned at her. "I think so too."

"So?" Ladybug clasped her hands together, curiosity in her eyes. "How'd it go?"

"I got to talk to people," Luka replied vaguely as he handed the miraculous back to her. His visit with Marinette had made everything else fuzzy by comparison. "There was no trouble, but there was only one person who wanted to see Viperion."

"I'm sure that'll change!" she assured, her blinding confidence thoroughly astounding him. Leaning in and grasping his shoulders, she insisted, "You deserve to be appreciated, whether that's as a civilian, a hero, or an akuma."

He went to thank her, practically overflowing with all the affection he'd received at that point, but he paused when her words truly registered with him.

Ladybug, however, didn't give him a chance to respond. She stepped away, stashing the snake miraculous into her yoyo and making her escape back out into the city with her usual wave of good-bye.

Luka was certain that he'd heard properly: she'd said akuma. He supposed it could just be a coincidence that Marinette and Ladybug had both happened to reference his akumatized self, but Ladybug's expression had hinted to him that it was more than that. It had been strange to him that Marinette's balcony had been open for him, and even more so that Marinette happened to be there like she was waiting for him. If both she and Ladybug had wanted him to feel appreciated (mission accomplished on that one, obviously), then it was possible that they'd teamed up to give him a double dose of gratitude.

Or at least, that must've been the reason, because the only other option was—

Ah.

Just like that, Luka blushed a deep shade of red, the memory of Marinette placing the Ladybug and Viperion plushies together burning itself permanently into his mind.

I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS ON LUKA AS A CHARACTER AFTER WISHMAKER AND I’M GONNA DUMP THEM HERE

Luka is such a cool character and he has been a rock for marinette when things got rough for her, but beyond just being a really good and supportive friend I’ve gotta say that if anyone was going to find out both ladybug and chat noir’s identities, luka was definitely the best person for the job. like Marinette better be happy she was basically stuck giving that boy the miraculous of the snake because he might actually be the only one who can handle that level of responsibility.

First of all, he’s ridiculously level-headed until it’s his friends or family who are threatened. I don’t think he’d be akumatized unless someone came directly after his family or friends instead of him- the dude’s ridiculously patient and even-keeled, and as we know from Silencer, a gentle soul. Still though, this guy handles the information of who ladybug and chat noir are ridiculously well.

Like ignoring the weight of the responsibility for a second, just look at how hard it’s got to be to keep his mouth shut on a frustration level- he’s got so much on his plate already and now he’s got to watch these two knuckleheads be the level of oblivious and awkward that they are as civilians knowing full well how close they are as superheroes and how in love both of them are with each other (without knowing it) with a patient smile? The frustration we feel from watching the love square? This boy is living it.

Plus we know from Truth just how important that honesty is to Luka- he values it so so highly and holds himself to such a high standard, but when ladybug asks him point blank to his face whether or not he found out their identities, he lies without hesitation. He literally says that they were never hit (side note: why would he have used second chance then? idk ladybug didn’t ask so she probably assumed something else went wrong or they got stuck since he did seem to let her know that they had used multiple chances so whatever).

He lied to this girl who he cares about so much and compromised his own principles so soon after them being emphasized in Truth without questioning it because he

1. obviously cares about marinette/ladybug and chat noir/adrien and wants to protect them but also

2. because he understands that the responsibility that has been given to him as Viperion has to come before his own principles for the greater good.

He takes his hero-ing seriously, which is what you need from someone who’s going to be given the ability to play with time and potentially be your last resort if everything else fails. He’s known this, but I think after having that responsibility really play out in this episode at the expense of his own principles, he probably understands Marinette and the pressure she was facing and the weight that comes with being a miraculous holder even better than before. He probably went home and rethought everything, especially what happened in Truth with Marinette.

And speaking of the RESPONSIBILITY? All that while trying to not get akumatized and not hint EVEN TO LADYBUG/MARINETTE HERSELF (his friend and the guardian who trusted him with that miraculous) that he knows her identity or chat noir’s? And not hint that they really know each other in real life? And not slip at all even though he hangs out with both of them as civilians all the time?

Like he’s just gonna sit on that information and that responsibility of being the only person in Paris who knows both of their identities and not physically implode from the stress or tell anyone? Knowing that if anyone finds out he will become Shadow Moth’s number 1 target? But he won’t jeopardize his friends by even letting marinette know that he knows so he can talk to someone about it? Like I know he isn’t getting paid but someone get this boy a raise 😭

Miraculous Ladybug AU where everything is the same except Anarka is western-obsessed rather than pirate-obsessed. Her house is a western desert saloon with the nearby terrain being inexplicably desert sand and shrubs.

Either that or an akuma turns the entirety of Miraculous Paris into a western. I'm just in the mood for westerns right now. Probably because of Undertale Yellow. Back on topic, the Eiffel Tower is turned into a rock formation with roughly the same shape. Miraculous Paris turns into a shrubby desert wasteland with wooden buildings and cacti. Everyone gets western clothes and starts speaking in western accents. Maybe some people are turned into rocks, cacti, and animals as well if it's too crowded. Alix gets a horse in place of her rollerskates. Markov becomes a steampunk/dieselpunk can robot. I have no idea what the Liberty would become in this situation. Maybe just a regular house nearby what's left of the Seine. Maybe she owns a bunch of guns or something. What I do know is that Kitty Section's (minus Adrien) outfits should be a reference to the Feisty Four because it fits so damn well. The only exceptions are Kagami and Tomoe, who are dressed as someone out of a samurai movie instead. Because cowboys and samurai, you know. But otherwise, no one is safe. Not even the Miraculous Heroes. Ladybug and Chat Noir have their outfits changed to show they're the sheriffs in this town, as does Hawkmoth but I'm not in the mood to think about what his fit would look like. If Viperion joins he puts the snake bracelet in his boot. Chat Noir's staff is turned into a long gun, although Ladybug keeps her yoyo. But her Lucky Charm turns out to be a revolver. She uses it in a duel against the akuma. The purified butterfly flies into the sunset.

Just An Ordinary Girl

“We need to stay together!” Viperion called out. “Splitting up does not end well.” 

The sheer exhaustion in Viperion’s tone didn’t bode well either. Carapace didn’t want to know how many loops Viperion had gone through this go around especially considering it was his third time loop this battle.

Even from Carapace’s less than fifteen minutes of experience, this battle was awful. 

The akuma was like Miraculer - he could steal their powers. But he was worse because it could split into four clones of himself. 

“Okay then!” Chat Noir called. “Ryuko, Rena, and Carapace, protect our backs. Tigress and I will guard the gap! Viperion stays in the middle.” 

Carapace missed Ladybug. There was nothing wrong with Chat’s orders. Carapace didn’t disagree with any of his calls. This akuma just sucked. And Ladybug just had this insane creative genius for hare-brained schemes that seemed to be able to cut through anything. 

The akuma struck. Carapace narrowly yanked Rena Rouge aside and they both fell to the ground hard. His elbow took the majority of the impact, which hurt like a bitch, but he was glad it was him who took the brunt of it instead of her. And it worked. 

Except one of the other clones clipped him. 

A mud brown impenetrable dome manifested around all six of them immediately.

Purple Tigress punched it with her power. Nothing.

Cataclysm dissolved it, but it was immediately replaced with another. 

“Crap!”

That was one word for it. Carapace might have had a far less kid-friendly one ringing through his head. The six of them were getting their butts handed to them by this akuma.

Carapace took personal offense to the barrier that stood as a mockery of his own power. 

“Viperion?” Chat called. 

The snake hero shook his head. “We’re on loop number 1703. This is the best possible outcome. Trust me.”

Chat Noir winced. 

Carapace really missed Ladybug.

“I think we have to call Ladybug,” Rena Rouge said, turning toward Chat Noir. 

“No! We can’t!” Chat objected. 

Rena raised an eyebrow. “We can’t let the akuma win. We’re trapped.”

“She only asked for one weekend off! She deserves to have one weekend off! We can handle it.”

“I hate to break it to you, but we’re not handling it,” Ryuko added dryly. 

“We will not be calling Ladybug,” Chat declared firmly.

The other five of them exchanged a look. 

“We can get help from someone else!” Chat insisted.

“Like who?” Rena Rouge demanded. “You’d need someone who is willing to pull off crazy stunts, who is a tactical creative genius against so many, and someone who is not intimidated by akumas.”

“Marinette!” Chat exclaimed, his face lit up in excitement.

“How do you know Marinette?” Ryuko asked, her eyebrows furrowed together. 

“You think Marinette can do what six fully equipped superheroes couldn’t?!” Carapace asked. 

Rena’s eyes narrowed. “Why Marinette?”

“Are you kidding? Marinette could kick any one of our asses,” Chat said. “Marinette is the only person I know who has gone up against an akuma as a civilian.”

Seriously?! Did the cat have selective memory? But it wasn’t like Carapace could remind everyone that Nino had gone up against Anansi as a civilian.

Of course, he had lost, but that wasn’t the point. 

“You’re crazy,” he said instead, crossing his arms.

“I’m in.” Rena said. 

“What?!” Carapace turned to her in shock, feeling more than a bit betrayed. 

Viperion and Ryuko nodded in agreement as well.

Was everyone insane? He turned to Rena. “You’re going along with this? You’d throw Marinette—“ her best friend went unsaid, but Rena understood what he was saying. “—out there unsupported against an akuma?”

His girlfriend shrugged. She shrugged . “If Ladybug’s not an option. Marinette is the next best thing.”

Carapace stared at her incredulously.

Chat clapped his hands together, clearly pleased with this so-called solution. “I’ll call her!” 

“You have her number?” Carapace asked. What the actual fuck?

But obviously he did because he had the cat phone to his ear and it was audibly ringing. “Hey princess!” Chat greeted enthusiastically, turning away from the group like it was a private conversation. 

“Princess?” Carapace echoed. What kind of relationship did Chat Noir and Marinette have? 

“No.” Marinette’s firm voice echoed throughout the dome.

“I haven’t even asked for anything yet.” 

“The answer is still no! I only have twelve hours before this project is due. I cannot take a break.”

“But Paris needs you.”

“The answer is no. Call someone else! Call Ladybug!”

“No! Marinette! I can’t! Last week was terrible for her. I promised I could handle one weekend. She deserves and needs the time off. Plus, we don’t need her. I know you can do this. You can do anything . Remember Kwamibuster?”

Chat Noir spoke to Marinette like he was trying to sweet talk her. Carapace didn’t like it. Chat had always been flirtatious, and Marinette deserved someone loyal and sincere. 

Someone like Adrien.

“What do you expect me to do against an akuma without a miraculous?” Marinette asked. 

“Whatever it is you did against Evilustrator and Hack-san.” 

“I can’t do this. Not today.” 

Chat only grinned at her refusal. “You always say that, and then you do it anyway.” 

“What do I get out of this?”

“Your friends and family safe and sound, free to feel their own feelings and pursue their own dreams.”

Marinette groaned. “Chaaaat!” she whined. “You’re gonna owe me so much for this.”

“See you soon, Princess!” Chat sing-songed, and turned his attention back to the group. “She’s on her way.” 

As if that solved all their problems. 

“Shouldn’t we… I don’t know… come up with a back up plan?” Carapace asked. 

Purple Tigress looked at the other four expectantly, as if agreeing with him, but the others just exchanged glances and shrugged. They honestly thought Marinette was the solution. 

Carapace really hoped they were right. Marinette was amazing, but did that mean she could get through an akuma that Viperion had just spent who knew how many weeks fighting unsuccessfully across three time loops?

“You don’t need to worry so much,” Chat Noir assured, and it was galling that Chat Noir could read him so well. 

“How can you be so confident? Aren’t you worried about her at all?”

“Marinette would kick my ass into next Sunday if I worried about her. She can take care of herself, and she knows what she can handle and what she can’t. I’ve learned over and over again not to underestimate her. Kwamibuster was an akuma where Ladybug and I both lost our Kwamis, and therefore our transformations. Marinette pulled off a stunt the old Guardian thought was impossible with all the remaining miraculouses using the mouse to protect her own psyche. She was brilliant.”

“But she doesn’t have an entire box right now.”

“She doesn’t need an entire box. She defeated Hack-San without any powers at all. Her super power is in how she thinks!” 

Carapace held his hands up. “I know firsthand that she’s brilliant. I’m just scared for her too. That akuma handed our asses to us.” 

“She’s doing fine,” Rena commented, projecting a video from her flute into the air for all of them to see. 

Chat Noir flipped around the projected image, so he wouldn’t be seeing the mirror image like Nino from the back. 

“Some girl just took out an akuma with a trash can and a fire hydrant,” Chat read aloud. “She ran off before anyone could thank her.” 

In the video, Marinette hid in the trash can and when the akuma was overhead, she leapt out of her hiding place and tackled the clone onto the ground where the fire hydrant went off in its face. Marinette used the distraction to snatch the clone’s sash, and the thing dissolved underneath her. Then she was running away before the other three could grab her, her pigtails bobbing behind her. 

Chat’s expression was completely besotted. “The way she lured him in like that?! She’s just amazing!” Then he turned toward Carapace triumphantly like a proud boyfriend. “See! She just has this way of cutting to the right idea at the right time! I could watch her working on a problem or project for hours!”

Did Chat Noir realize how he sounded?

And it wasn’t fair because Nino was certain that Adrien was finally starting to realize that he was crushing hard on Marinette. 

What if Chat Noir got there first? 

“You think she’ll clear this up before sunset?” Purple Tigress asked.

“Why? Got somewhere else more important to be?” Viperion asked. 

“Well, not more important . But something I’d like to do, yes.” 

“A hot date?” Viperion teased. 

“What’s it to you?” Purple Tigress growled back. 

Viperion held his hands up in surrender. “Just teasing! You deserve to get to go on your date. Hopefully Marinette pulls through. She usually does.”

“I never said it was a date,” Tigress muttered. But clearly it was. 

“I have another Marinette update,” Rena announced, playing another video from the Ladyblog’s fan submission page. 

“This girl is insane!” the narrator exclaimed, his camera flashing toward two bungie cables dangling from the overhead railing with two suitcases attached on either end. “She set up a pulley system with two guys’ luggage and a plastic bag to set a trap for a friggin’ akuma and she won!” The video angled back to his face. “Where the hell are Ladybug and Chat Noir?” 

“Wow! That’s super cool!” Tigress said, watching the video with wide eyes.

“That’s Marinette for you. She never sits out a fight when she can do something,” Chat said. 

“You really like her, don’t you?” Ryuko asked, smiling fondly.

“Oh yeah, she’s absolutely amazing! Have you ever seen her designs?” His face was as bright as the moon as he spoke. 

Carapace shook his head. Chat Noir didn’t just know about Marinette’s designs. He had seen them! Nino wondered again how much time Chat Noir spent with Marinette on the regular? Even Nino had only ever caught glimpses of her work and he was in almost all of Marinette’s classes. 

“You know, even if Marinette manages to take out all four clones, how is she gonna break through this barrier?”

“She’ll figure it out,” Chat insisted. “She always does. I wish we had something in here to give her to show our appreciation.” 

Rena smiled at him. “I’m sure she’ll know we appreciate her.” 

“I just feel so bad for interrupting her project right before a deadline. I’ll have to make it up to her.” 

Yeah, Chat Noir had it bad, which wasn’t good. Nino didn’t want him swooping in right before Adrien was finally seeing her. 

“Ah! We have an update on the akuma,” Rena announced, projecting the post into the air again. 

“My little girl almost got hit by an akuma! Luckily, this girl knocked it out of the park before it touched her at all. And then she stayed and danced until my girl was laughing again! What an absolute angel!” 

“Wow!” Purple Tigress said. “Marinette’s usually so clumsy.”

But Chat was shaking his head. “Not during emergencies or akumas. Then she’s graceful. And yeah, she trips and stumbles constantly–” he was smiling fondly as he said this. “-- which can be really adorable, but she’s really good at catching herself! She kind of has this unique way of pinwheeling her arms to regain her balance. And her gestures are so creative and expressive… Honestly, I could spend hours just watching her.” 

That description was remarkably specific. “Aren’t you supposed to be in love with Ladybug?” Carapace asked. 

Chat turned to him, his eyebrows furrowed in total bafflement. “I am in love with Ladybug.” 

Carapace crossed his arms. “Are you sure? Seems like you have a thing for Marinette.”

“Oh, he definitely has a thing for Marinette,” Rena interjected, studying the feed on her flute before flashing him a smirk. “But then who doesn’t?”

“Right?!” Viperion chimed in. 

Even Ryuko was nodding. “I admit I hold more than a passing affection for Marinette as well.” 

Carapace hated that he couldn’t even argue. He had harbored a crush on Marinette for months . But he buried his hooded face in his hands anyway. This was ridiculous. 

“I don’t have a thing for Marinette!” Chat objected. 

“God! You’re worse than my best bro!” 

“What does that mean?” 

“You’re totally oblivious.” 

And Nino hoped it stayed that way at least until Adrien had a chance to say something. 

“No, you don’t understand. I can’t have a thing for Marinette! She’s in love with someone else. You should have heard her confession!”

“She confessed?!” 

“She practiced it anyway. It was silly at first, but then just so sincere. I wish someone would confess to me like that.”

Chat’s shoulders were slumped, and his gaze downcast. Carapace stared at a dejected Chat in disbelief. Did Chat Noir really not get that he had feelings for Marinette? 

Chat looked up straight at Carapace. “Do you think anyone will ever love me like that?” 

Nino froze. Chat Noir, one of the two primary heroes of Paris who pranced around in a catsuit and flirted with every other person he encountered, was looking to him for reassurance?! 

Today was just absolutely wild.

“I’m sure there’s someone out there for you, dude,” Carapace reassured.

There was a loud bang, and they all tensed, flipped around facing the barrier read to fight. 

But the dome just faded away. Marinette stood on the other side, holding out a clear glass bottle with an akuma fluttering angrily inside. 

Chat Noir plucked the bottle from her hold, smiling at her like she hung the moon. He released the akuma just far enough to cataclysm it. 

“See! I knew you could do it.” His eyes were so soft, he could give Adrien a run for his money. 

Marinette scowled at him, crossing her arms. “You know who else could have done it? Ladybug!! She has actual powers! Do you know how hard it was to go after an akuma without enhanced agility?” 

Chat took her hand. “May I offer the princess a kiss in gratitude?” 

“I think I’m the knight in this scenario,” she replies petulantly, but she didn’t pull away.

He pressed a lingering kiss onto her hand. 

Marinette didn’t even blush. “You owe me bigtime!” 

Chat nods. “Thank you for bailing me–” he gestured to all six of the present heroes, “–I mean, bailing all of us out.” 

“Why’d you ask me? I’m just an ordinary girl.” 

He shook his head. “There’s nothing ordinary about you, Marinette.” He said her name with absolute reverence. 

Nino shook his head in exasperation. There was no way in hell Chat Noir wasn’t in love with Marinette. Nino would have to warn Adrien to get his game on. He had competition, even if he didn’t know it. 

The other heroes surrounded her and offered thanks and congratulations. “Marinette! You are amazing!” Carapace told her. “Like you pulled off an impossible feat!” And then he bent down and whispered. “And I think if you’re not careful you’re going to break a certain black cat’s heart.” 

Marinette’s brows furrowed. “What are you talking about? Chat’s way too obsessed with Ladybug to ever really see me.”

Luka Couffaine, musician, twin brother of Juleka, and overall chill guy. His calm and charming attitude makes him hard to resist. Luka’s down to earth level head makes him perfect to be the rewinding snake hero, Viperion.

Just saw a take from someone that meant it as salt but honestly I'm kind of intrigued by it for the opposite reasons since it unintentionally highlights Chloe being incredibly strategic during the Miracle queen battle.

Extensively the person was claiming that Miracle Queen could flat out control every movement the holders under her control did beyond vocal orders, and while they were referring to Pegasus sending Chat to the Sun with voyage I'm more focused on the fact that would imply she not only had a good understanding of each of their power sets but were able to plan out multiple ways to take out both Heroes while controlling multiple bodies simultaneously

Okay no but like

Season 1-3 Chloé was pretty smart! Not like, a nerd or anything. But she knew how to get shit done and think out plans for situations. Unfortunately she used this to be a nuisance but it's still a demonstrated skill!

And when she becomes Queen Bee, that continues. She's good at this! Thinking strategy and working to strengths.

And yeah even in the Miracle Queen battle, she's calling the shots and only really loses because of one thing: the Snake. Because 1.) It's the one Miraculous she has never seen in action and has no idea how to work with, 2.) She may not know, but LB and CN do, so they know to prioritize grabbing it first and 3.) While they're somewhat Hivemind-ed, Viperion is the only one who would experience the resets so MQ can't adjust strategy she doesn't know about.

Ofc season 4-5 takes that away and tells us that she's such a fucking moron.

Also as a side note: Marinette successfully murdered someone by sending them into the sun literally a season later and has shown no remorse for it.

I know I might get bashed like hell for this but I don't care: Chat Noir and Ladybug are realistically the weakest Cat and Ladybug miraculous holders of their respective legacies.

And it's not just them. Every single Parisian hero of the current generation, from Rena Rouge to Viperion, are significantly weaker in terms of skill and power than their predecessors.

This isn't their fault entirely, as Ladybug and co have more disadvantages than the heroes that have come before them and there are those who don't take the job seriously [Chat Noir and Queen Bee].

They're Very Young

The first most glaring issue is the fact that they are still minors. The most consistent rule of the show is that a miraculous being used by a child is like the free trial version of a streaming service. Five minutes after using their special power, they will de-transform and will need to feed their kwami to resume their transformation. Unlike Hawkmoth and Mayura who can keep up their transformation even after using an akuma/amok, Ladybug and Chat Noir have to proceed with caution because they aren't grownups which limits their ability to fight all out. This is especially the case with Chat Noir and Ladybug as they are the main superheroes and characters used to emphasize this rule.

If the wiki is to be believed, then previous Ladybugs like La Déesse Coccinelle, Piao Chong, Tentomushi, Jeanne d'Arc (in the mlb universe), and Mudangbeolle were all adults according to their respective time periods and didn't have the same restrictions that the current Ladybug has. The same could be said about previous foxes, bees, turtles, snakes etc.

They Lack the Necessary Training

The second drawback that Marinette and Adrien have are their backgrounds. More specifically, their comfortable lifestyles. Marinette in particular, went from a clumsy girl who lived a normal life to a beloved superheroine in just one day. Not that there's anything wrong with that on a character level, but on a logical level it makes sense for her to be ill prepared for the duties of a hero at first. She was thrusted into it suddenly with no training [something I see is regularly addressed in crossover fanfictions with Batman and the DCU] or any background in combat, the latter she had to learn on her own. Though it's hinted at that Sabine is an exceptional fighter, it's pretty clear that she taught none of it to Marinette.

Adrien at least has some combat training in the form of fencing which is evident in the way he uses his staff like a fencing saber. But as someone who has been fencing since I was seven and been up against many talented opponents, Adrien strikes me as mediocre at best. He beats Kagami in Riposte sure, but by real fencing standards Adrien would be slaughtered by someone who had been trained their entire life to be an Olympic worthy fencer [Kagami].

I'm bringing this up because literally every past Ladybug, Black, and others have experience in combat, were vigilantes in armies, were warriors before using their miraculous, or fought in actual wars therefore becoming hardened veterans. In this category Adrien [again, even though he's mediocre] and Kagami are the only heroes of the current generation who have previous training in the form of a combat-oriented sport. Though, in my opinion, Kagami as Ryuko is the only hero that can hold a candle to her predecessors.

Alya, Nino, and Chloe are also very weak in this regard due to the aforementioned reasons above. They all have comfortable lifestyles and were thrusted into the world of heroes without any training or focus. Chloe nearly ran into a wall because she wasn't paying attention and Alya needed to be guilt tripped into giving the miraculous to Ladybug by Trixx. You can make the argument that the miraculous costumes make up for their lack of actual experience, which is 100% valid, but I can also argue that having battle training or any sort of athleticism can make a hero even more effective. I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but Kagami will always be the most effective and skilled temporary hero as evidenced by her being able to piece together her transformation phase, her attention to detail, her impressive battle awareness and her ability to right her mistakes [jumping into the fight without listening to Ladybug's plan in Ikari Gozen] with her quick thinking. Say what you will about her, but Kagami is objectively the best candidate to be a permanent hero, especially since Chat Noir has been demoted to sidekick/temporary hero status.

[Kim is also an athletic person, but his skill is in swimming, which isn't helpful unless he has an aqua form, which he doesn't so ehh]

They Have Little to No Knowledge of Their Own Powers

The third thing that the heroes have going against them is their lack of knowledge about their powers. By this point in the series, the heroes are just going with the flow and figuring things out for themselves as they go along.

As we know, these are the first heroes since the Order of the Guardians was destroyed. This context is important because in Feast, we learn that countless grimoires and Miracle Boxes burned away or eaten.

The miraculous date back to Ancient Times so there had to have been thousands of years of documented information about the miraculous of the Chinese Miracle Box. I'm not even going to say it's an assumption. It has to be a fact that there were secrets about each miraculous including how to train each Guardian that would have been extremely helpful to Ladybug and the others if they had access to it. Master Fu is responsible for tens of thousands of years' worth of knowledge being snuffed out in just one night.

This puts the heroes who wielded a miraculous after the Order was destroyed at a significant, almost sad disadvantage to those who were heroes before the Order fell. It's highly likely that after gaining their miraculous, previous heroes had access to the archive in which they could learn to utilize their powers to their absolute fullest potential. Whereas with the current heroes, it feels like they can only use a fraction of their miraculous's abilities.

Another problem with their lack of knowledge is the time separating Ladybug and Chat Noir from their predecessors. Bo Rua and an unnamed Vietnamese Black Cat were the last LadyCat duo before Feast swallowed the Order, with Adrien and Marinette being their immediate successors. However, Master Fu was confirmed to be in his 180s when he relinquished the Miracle Box to Marinette and Austruc confirmed Bo Rua and her partner to be in their early twenties, meaning that Bo Rua and LadyNoir have over 200 years separating them, confirming that their knowledge was lost over time after they died and can only be recovered by speaking to their spirits like in Reunion [which I have several complaints about]. Master Fu is obviously lacking knowledge about the miraculous to a severe degree, so it makes sense for Chat Noir and Ladybug to as well.

I'm not bashing Adrien and Marinette and co for being objectively weak because it makes so much sense. They lack proper training, they're kids with set limits on their powers, and they don't have access to crucial information that would've probably led them to defeat Hawkmoth by now. Sure, the two of them [more so Marinette] are the strongest heroes of their generation but if you put them up against their forebearers, they would be massacred with no difficulty whatsoever.

The show would be 100 times more interesting if this was acknowledged, which would lead to the introduction of the previous holders in a more natural and useful way.

Remaking "Miraculous Ladybug" (Season 4)

Welcome back! I hope you're ready for another season. Get your popcorn out, because things get CRAZY. Given my changes to the series thus far, some episodes weren't just removed out of personal preference, but because the plotlines that occurred no longer existed in this universe. For example, I wanted to include "Rocketear," but since Nino is the guardian of the Miracle Box here, I can't let him be akumatized. I never realized how Marinette-centric this show was--I mean, I did, but it didn't feel like THIS. Perhaps I've made the show too Adrien-centric now? Lemme know your thoughts.

Truth--A month after the events of "Miracle Queen." Gabriel fixes the butterfly miraculous thanks to the information in the digital codex, but he doesn't combine them; instead he simply wears them separately, since combining miraculous into one feels too powerful. Wayzz is giving Nino a deep talk on the history of the miraculous, and even passes along the codex. Nino questions the point of having the box since Hawk Moth knows his, Chloe, Luka, and Kagami's true identities--plus the fox miraculous has been revoked from Kagami, who is going back to Japan soon after her akumatization. Wayzz replies that Hawk Moth will likely assume that Ladybug and Chat Noir are too smart to use the same holders, and that they can outsmart him if they alter their costumes, but only one more time;if they're caught, they can never be holders again. As such, everyone except for Chat Noir and Ladybug are trying to lay low. If the heroes are ever threatened, they can return it to Nino, who needs to learn how to not be so open with information. Trixx (who I'm just gonna use male pronouns for given the French dub) is depressed over their ability to rewarp reality again, and fears that Kagami will return for him, which Nino assures him won't happen. Luka and Adrien go on a movie date, and Luka tells Adrien that he's there for him as a friend, knowing he has too much on his mind for a relationship, despite wanting to be with Adrien. While Ladybug attempts to fight Mr. Pigeon, she is shocked to find a black-cat-themed superhero fighting Mr. Pigeon, who introduces himself as Cat Walker. Unlike the humorous and daring Chat Noir, Cat Walker is shy and reserved, serving as an almost silent aide to Ladybug, as he explains that Chat Noir gave him a miraculous for the time being while he lays low. Ladybug attempts to bash Chat Noir for being a coward, but Cat Walker assures her that it's for a good cause, as Hawk Moth almost found out Chat Noir's identity. Viperion also assists them. Later, Marinette and Luka hang out at the ice cream store, but Marinette leaves once more, and Luka becomes Viperion again. As Truth, Luka's concern is for his OWN lying and the guilt that comes with being a superhero, especially considering that he still has possession of the snake miraculous and he has to lie to his friends and family (except Ladybug and Chat Noir) about not having it. Hawk Moth doesn't bother asking if he still has it, instead tasking him with going after Ladybug and Chat Noir. As Truth, he mainly targets Marinette and Nino, given that they have been acting suspicious lately. Adrien promises to be there for him, vowing to make more time for them, maybe having a relationship someday. Here, Marinette realizes that as Ladybug, it may not be possible to be with Adrien, given how busy her life is as a superhero, and that she's happy as long as he's happy.

2. Lies--Nino is working out the different magical recipes found in the codex. Unlike the original, there are only a few potions; some missions just require different heroes. (For example, I didn't cover Syren, but if I did, Viperion would've been the main star, given the existence of water snakes.) Alec instead does a report on Gabriel's life, which, despite being stressful, is a breath of fresh air compared to being Hawk Moth. Marinette notes that while Adrien has a lot of advantages in life, it must be very stressful, especially since rumors circulated that his straining relationship with his father has affected his eating habits and made him almost pass out at a previous fashion show. Adrien is focused on trying to mend things with Kagami, who is inconsolable and horrified at the idea of going home without her mother, especially since the events of "Miracle Queen" have been broadcast all over the world and her family will be very upset with her, though she takes solace in the idea that they may fear her--though Adrien mentions that it is better to be loved than feared and worries that she hasn't learned anything after her experience a month ago. Cat Walker scours the city, but is happy to report that there is no crime, but Kagami is suspicious of Cat Walker, jealous that a random civilian gets the power of destruction, arguably even more dangerous than the fox miraculous. This leads to a fight between Adrien and Kagami, as Kagami believes that any elegance he maintains is fake and forced by his father's expectations, which he disputes. She tries to kiss him, but he rejects her, and she believes that he's just like her mother, that she'll never be good enough for anyone. As Adrien spends more time with Luka, Kagami believes that they're a couple, and thinks that Adrien is lying to her when he denies it, noting his "off" behavior at certain times. Haw Moth akumatizes her, promising to let her have the fox miraculous if she finds the new holder of the miracle box. As such, she lashes out at Ladybug and Cat Walker with ferocity, with them communicating to the other members not to intervene. The rest of the episode pans out the same, but with Kagami leaving for Japan after a bittersweet semi-reconciliation with Adrien, as she's left with confusion once more.

3. Psycomedian--Mostly the same, but with a significant change; rather than trying to get Adrien to date her, Marinette teams up with her classmates, as several of them have noted his depression following Kagami's departure and Gabriel's absences becoming more frequent. They grow concerned that Adrien is becoming apathetic and reclusive, though Chloe, Luka, and Nathalie are convinced that Adrien is harder to break than one might expect, and that he simply needed his space to process his feelings. Once he was ready, he would embrace his friends, who would be there when he needed them.

4. Furious Fu--Mostly the same, except the episode focuses on Nino, as he's the holder of the Miracle Box, and after Master Fu traveled to the temple at the end of "Feast," it's confirmed that many lives have been brought back. As such, he's already made amends with Su-Han, though he is still upset with the idea of children using the miracle box and miraculous. He decides to stay in Paris, specifically to monitor Nino. However, the pressure makes him lash out at an amnesiac Fu, who becomes Furious Fu. The episode pans out mostly the same, though Nino and Su-Han use the turtle and fox miraculous to become Shellback (his new persona with a new costume) and Huli Jing to help Ladybug and Cat Walker.

5. Sole Crusher--The episode is mostly the same, but Lila encourages Zoe to lie more at school and act fake around everyone. In a new environment, Zoe accidentally tells grander lies than Lila herself would've, creating a bad reputation for herself, but she ignores the criticisms and blames Chloe for turning everyone against her the moment she came to school. Marinette attempts to befriend Zoe, but Lila prevents this from happening due to their shared animosity for each other, leaving Adrien as a neutral party to befriend Zoe. However, Zoe believes Adrien's sincerity is actually pity, and becomes enraged with how "in love" everyone seems to be with Chloe, which she believes is just because she was a superhero. When battling Sole Crusher, Ladybug, Cat Walker, and Queen Bee (now going by Ceratina with a new look similar to Clonika) take to the stage, but it leaves Zoe feeling more humiliated than ever, running her right into Lila's arms.

6. Gabriel Agreste--It is revealed that Shadow Moth has been monitoring Nino on the off chance that he is Shellback and has the Miracle Box, but thanks to Trixx, Nino is aware of this and is able to dodge his (and everyone else's) suspicions. While Gabriel is still intent on bringing back Emilie--at least for Adrien's sake--he has found that he's developing feelings for Nathalie, who kindly reciprocates. We also see a sweet moment between Gabriel and Adrien, as Gabriel has given Adrien less modeling jobs to focus on his health. It's also revealed that Amelie has been putting more pressure on Félix to figure out what Gabriel is hiding. Nathaniel and Marinette have a brief talk about how their relationship with each other has changed over time, and Nathaniel believes that Marinette must tell Adrien how she feels regardless of his feelings for her, as that is the only way she'll be able to move on. Chloe's blackmail doesn't happen, but she does overhear Marinette and Nathaniel's talk and believes she should move in on Adrien before anything happens between him and Luka. Marinette doesn't sneak in to the mansion, but is, along with Luka invited by Adrien to attend. Amelie attempts to flirt with Gabriel, successfully flustering him, while Félix searches the mansion, though Chloe follows him as well, losing Zoe amongst the crowd. Marinette, Luka, and Adrien are left alone in the room, and due to her friendship with Luka, Marinette finds it hard to confess to Adrien in front of him. When caught by Sentimonster Gabriel, Félix states that he wishes that he and Gabriel were closer, given that his own father has been dead for a while. He muses with the idea that he's truly Adrien's twin brother who was cast aside because Adrien was perfect and Amelie wanted a copy, though Gabriel refutes this idea. Chloe listens, shocked that Félix could be right about Gabriel being Shadow Moth. Félix manages to slip away before the Collector or Ladybug and Cat Walker can find him, as if he disappeared into thin air.

7. Crocoduel--Mostly the same, but the episode is on a bit of a happier note as Adrien and Luka grow closer, though Adrien was originally late to the party due to looking after Nathalie, leading Chloe and Nino to believe that he needs someone to take care of, following Emilie's death and Kagami's situation. The team in this episode consists of Ceratina, Uroborus, Ladybug, Cat Walker, and Shellback to battle the villains, as they fear giving anyone the fox miraculous after what happened to Kagami. Seeing them all, Alya correctly surmises that Ladybug likely didn't induct new members into to team, and that they are all the same people as before. Anarka and Jagged have a better handling on their parenting skills, and Adrien and Luka share a kiss at the end of the episode, confirming that they're official.

8. Wishmaker--The episode is more introspective and focuses on Marinette's dream of being a fashion designer, with Marc and Nathaniel dreaming of their future comic careers. Adrien's interest in modeling is partially his own, not just his father's wish. Given how he's been coddled and protected his whole life, he wonders if there's anything he wants to do, especially seeing how scary the world can be as a superhero. Luka encourages his interest in music, as Adrien has been developing interest in it lately, even working on his vocals, but Adrien doesn't see himself as being brave enough to become a musician that performs radio-friendly music, and doesn't see playing piano as being interesting his whole life, given his father always making him play it growing up. Luka recommends toying around with alternative sounds to see if there's anything he likes, offering to carve out some time in his band's studio for him to try it. Alya looks into interning for a newspaper, as her Ladyblog has gained her notoriety, and Nino has developed an interest in blogging himself--though this is difficult given his position as guardian. Most of the episode is the same--except for any Luka/Marinette/Adrien love triangle moments, and Alec's powers don't work on Adrien because as a child he didn't dream of becoming anything; he was just happy with his parents, and this affects Shadow Moth severely. Cat Walker's identity also isn't exposed during the battle, and Luka informs Marinette that he knows her identity.

9. Qilin--Basically the same, but touches more on the concept of nationalism and racism; without getting "political" about it, Sabine is discriminated against when she's seen speaking Mandarin, and assumptions are made that she's not Parisian enough, and that as an immigrant, she's a drain on public resources, hurting her terribly. Roger is more sympathetic towards Sabine since he knows her, and tells the inspector to be kinder to her. The whole experience makes Sabine worry that Marinette will grow to despise her Chinese heritage and recommends that they go there at some point to embrace that side of her.

10. Ephemeral--Very different. Gabriel goes with Adrien to the conference rather than being cruel about it, with Bob Roth's akumatization not happening. Su-Han returns to Nino to evaluate the team's progress, and tells him that if anything should happen, he needs to know the identity of Cat Walker and Ladybug, as they have the most powerful abilities. Luka confronts Nino briefly, wanting to ask if he still has the fox miraculous. Nino informs him that it hasn't been used since "Miracle Queen," and Luka is confused, but doesn't explain. In case something bad happened, Luka shares his identity of Uroboros with Adrien, who confesses that he's Cat Noir. Luka asks him if he's changed his identity to Cat Walker to avoid Hawk Moth's suspicions, but Adrien dodges the question. Unbeknownst to them, Gabriel was listening outside the door. When Luka leaves to tell Nino, Gabriel tells Adrien the truth and asks him if he would trust Gabriel in giving him his miraculous. Adrien holds off, but agrees to give it only if he manages to take Ladybug's miraculous first, and gets akumatized. When Ladybug's miraculous is taken, Shadow Moth demands Ephemeral hold up his end of the bargain, but Luka intercepts them. Cat Walker (or Spacecat) and Ladybug (or Lady Interstellar) save the day similar to CN and Ladybug in the original, but Nino gives Adrien's identity to Su-Han, believing that Adrien would agree with sharing it if it would help the team. Su-Han thanks Nino for his cooperation, and confronts Adrien in order to ask him about his history as a miraculous holder, and believes that he is Cat Walker as well, but Adrien's inability to recall recent battles perfectly arouses his suspicions.

11. Kuro Neko--In a flashback, it is revealed that in between "Miracle Queen" and "Truth," Adrien reveals his true identity of Chat Noir to Nino, and makes him promise to take back his miraculous if anything bad happens. Then he visits Félix and gifts him the cat miraculous, never revealing that he is Adrien, and stating that Chat Noir needs a break and has to lie low. Not realizing Félix's intentions, he believes that the cat miraculous will be safe in his hands, as Adrien has growing concerns of Gabriel being Shadow Moth, particularly after Chloe tells him about the events of "Gabriel Agreste." Not letting Amelie know, she berates Félix as usual for not being as good as Adrien, and Félix wonders at the cat miraculous for a strange feeling of deja vu. Ladybug and Cat Walker defeat Kuro Neko, with Cat Walker detransforming and revealing himself as Adrien. This shocks Marinette, but he assures her that he isn't Chat Noir. As they grow closer, Félix reveals in the fact that he's close to achieving his goals, as Ladybug has a soft spot for Adrien and believes that he should've done this sooner.

12. Penalteam--Very much the same, but when Zoe is encouraged by Lila to lie about having an injury to avoid playing a soccer game, fearing that no one will want to be on a team with her. However, Zoe is exposed by Chloe and Marinette, and her fear comes true, leading to her akumatization as Penalteam. The lie inspires Nathaniel not to use excuses to avoid the soccer game, and Marinette notes to Chloe how hard Kim is trying to impress her, and she decides to give him the benefit of the doubt. (Zoe instead of Chloe; Kim and Chloe). The post-akumatization of the plot is the same, save for the team consisting of Ladybug, Cat Walker, Ceratina, and Shellback. Ceratina and Penalteam get into a squabble that almost exposes Chloe's identity, but Penalteam destroys her akumatized object in a rage similar to Chloe in the original. Ladybug is momentarily confused when she believes that she sees Adrien hiding during Penalteam's onslaught and Cat Walker battling her, but when Ladybug attempts to ask Cat Walker about it, he pulls her into a kiss and confesses his love for her.

13. Risk (Shadow Moth's Final Attack--Part 1)--Ladybug is smitten by Cat Walker's confession to her, and swoons at the idea of revealing her identity, though Alya makes her reconsider, as does Nino. Marinette doesn't tell them who Cat Walker is, but they vehemently stand against her revealing her own identity. They attempt to contact Luka (and wonder why he didn't appear in "Penalteam"), but are unable to reach him and assume that he's practicing his music. For a brief moment, Marinette recalls how Luka and Adrien are supposed to be in a relationship, and questions if they've broken up or if Adrien is cheating on Luka. As Nathalie begins to see Gabriel sink into a deeper depression, as he doesn't visit her, Nathalie climbs out of bed and visits him while he's sleeping, taking his two miraculous to become Papaon (a portmanteau of "Papillion" and "Paon", AKA "butterfly" and "peacock"), creating Risk. She also makes a few phone calls to dial in an "unforeseen variable." Cat Walker comes to Adrien's room, stating that he got the call. Adrien demands the miraculous back after seeing him kiss Ladybug, but Cat Walker taunts him, saying that Ladybug likes him more than Chat Noir, not revealing that he's masquerading as Adrien to Ladybug. This hurts Adrien, who feels like he's been replaced, as Cat Walker leaves him to his sadness, telling him that he knows how that feels, but he'll get over it--or maybe he won't. Papaon feels Adrien's sadness, but decides against akumatizing him, as she cares for him and Gabriel. Adrien later tells Gabriel that he wants to book more jobs as a model so he can travel, preferably in cities where Kitty Section plays, which Gabriel allows. His warm moment with Adrien distracts him from the pain he feels, as well as not realizing that his miraculous are gone, and Adrien believes that his suspicions of Gabriel being Shadow Moth were unfounded because he's not wearing them. However, he is horrified to find that he will be traveling with Lila, who's lies have still held up and keep her with a good reputation to become a model. Adrien has no choice but to call his cousin again and pose as Adrien this time, but Félix refuses the offer, believing that this is an attempt to get the miraculous back and get him out of the way, believing that people will see him as a fake immediately. Adrien attempts to reach Luka, but he fails to answer, and he resigns himself to going with Lila. Zoe and Lila distract Marinette's friends from getting to him to dissuade him, and Marinette (under the influence of Risk) tells Adrien that she's always been in love with him. This surprises him, but with everything going on, he fails to acknowledge her feelings. Having spied on the Agreste mansion before, Cat Walker goes to the secret part of Gabriel's office and goes to Papaon's secret hideout. He greets her venomously, and promises to get the ladybug miraculous for him if she promises to give him the peacock miraculous to help him do it, as well as giving him the two main miraculous to make his own wish when everything was over. As he reveals that he knows who she is, he blackmails her into helping him or he'd make sure Gabriel would rot in jail. She agrees and he creates Strikeback, and she wonders who exactly Cat Walker is as her "unforeseen variable" returns: Kagami.

14. Strikeback (Shadow Moth's Final Attack--Part 2)--As Adrien prepares to travel with Lila and Gabriel, he sees how much havoc the city is in, and Gabriel realizes at the last minute that he doesn't have the miraculous with him. He believes Nathalie has them both, and rationalizes that she won't let any harm come to them, but worries about her fragile health, despite fixing the miraculous. It is revealed that Papaon used a sentimonster disguised as Adrien to trick Nino into letting him into his house, and taking the fox miraculous when he wasn't aware, as Kagami (now rearmed as Hansha) makes her appearence, fighting the miraculous users with no mercy. Hansha uses these powers (under Nathalie--now called Glasswing since she only has the butterfly miraculous) to make Cat Walker pose as Chat Noir, who chooses to flirt with Ladybug at inopportune times, throwing her off at his sudden return and not taking the situation seriously. Ceratina and Shellback come to help, but Shellback reveals that along with not being able to reach Luka, he cannot find the fox miraculous. "Chat Noir" is annoyed, as Hansha shows him no mercy and he's worried that Glasswing is beginning to go back on her bargain.Coming up with a backup plan, he convinces Ladybug that they should swap miraculous to try to find a different angle, Félix then becomes Coccin, while Marinette becomes Lady Noir. They manage to defeat the sentimonster, but without anyone noticing, Coccin creates a false set of ladybug earrings and sneaks off. While the team tries to find Risk and battle Kagami, Coccin leaves the ladybug earrings carefully on Gabriel's desk without Glasswing catching him. She calls Gabriel to return, which isn't a problem, given that the train stopped operating during Strikeback's attack. Félix returns home to his temporary residency, where Amelie has gone into hiding. It is revealed that Luka has been trapped there for a week, and that Félix is toying around with the idea of creating a sentimonster to post as Luka and make his friends believe he's abandoned them, though Luka promises that they won't fall for it. Félix says they might, lying that they've already begun to distrust him due to his silence all this time, but ignores his cries for help and transforms into Argos with the peacock miraculous and retrieving the snake miraculous he took from Luka and stored in one of the parts of his house. Félix returns to the battle, where Hansha has been defeated. Félix gives Lady Noir the fake pair of miraculous earrings and they swap miraculous once more. However, while the heroes are distracted by their victories, Félix combines the fox and snake miraculous, allowing him to manipulate time (maybe call him Serpent Renard). He whispers "tell me if it's still the same" and throws Kagami into a time portal, and he leaves the scene while the heroes are weakened. Marienette freaks out as she realizes that "Adrien" gave her fake earrings, and Gabriel marvels at how they're halfway to achieving his dream of reviving Emilie.

(Had to separate these due to the block limit; still the same episode)

Attempting to try it out, he uses the miraculous, becoming King Beetle, and uses lucky charm. This inadvertedly saves him and Nathalie, as Félix attempts to go back on his deal and uses his miraculous to take the ladybug miraculous from them. The lucky charm shows a picture that makes him falter, asking how Gabriel has a picture of Félix's family. Gabriel kicks him back into the time portal, managing to snatch away the snake miraculous before he goes. Nathalie is shocked to realize that this isn't a picture of Félix, Amelie, and Félix's father; it's a picture of Gabriel, Emilie, and Adrien. Gabriel recalls in the codex that when combining the fox's reality manipulation along with the powers of the snake miraculous' time manipulation, anyone who falls into the user's time portal is at risk of changing age and form. Nathalie surmises that the reason that the source of Félix's anger is because he isn't Félix at all--Félix Fathom never existed. It's likely that during a fight against an alternate version of Adrien, Ladybug accidentally sent him to the past where Amelie adopted him, wanting a child like Emilie did. However, his amnesia and abuse from Amelie made him cruel and calculating, and it's possible that he was like this in the alternate world. (The audience knows that this is Chat Blanc, and while it's convoluted, give me points for building up to this.) Gabriel is horrified that Adrien could fall so far, and realizes that he can never tell Adrien about his goals to revive Amelie, and that with the Ladybug miraculous, it should be over sooner than later, as Marinette sobs in horror at being duped by who she believes was Adrien.

NGL, season 5 is about to get tricky, given that I've removed a lot of miraculous. I hope you guys enjoyed this, because I worked hard to make it fun!

So, that one ask about Luka got me curious: Do you have fic recs for Luka being an actual, fleshed out person? I know you read a lot of fic and you mentioned it specifically, so I thought you might? I'd be interested in really getting into his head. Bonus points if there's Lukagami involved (since that's my preference), but stuff about Wishmaker or Desperada or any other episode were he was particularly relevant should be the most interesting? Or Couffaine/Jagged family stuff. If you do, thanks!

Sorry it took me nearly a week to answer this, but there was a fanfic one my radar I needed to read first, since I suspected it would be perfect for this list. And I was right!

In The Shadows by @19thsentry-blog is the best Luka fic I've ever read. I just finished binging it today, and am looking forward to reading its sequels!

On one side is Luka, 140-year-old Snake Miraculous holder and keeper of the Guardian's secrets, on the other is Marinette Dupain-Cheng, a relatively newly minted hero of Paris and Guardian of the Miracle Box. Each is looking to fulfill their promises to their now gone mentors to reunite the Kwamis and keep them safe. Sounds simple--until you throw in a rocky start, the Atlantic Ocean, Félix Graham de Vanily, and a whole host of secrets…and suddenly simple becomes complicated (story of Marinette's life, right?).

Yes, this is a Lukanette fic. I don't normally read those since I've had enough bad experiences during my early days in this fandom (particularly while season 3 was airing) with Adrien, Alya, the class, etc getting demonized in those sorts of fics, that it put me off of the pairing as a whole, even though the pairing itself is fine (I happily read poly fics that include Lukanette so long as Adrien's in there too, since those have historically been pretty nice to all the characters).

This one I decided to take a chance on, since I read one of 19thsentry's more recent works (See This Chance, a FeLuka fic where Luka's a ghost, it's under 4000 words so if you want something bite-sized it's a good read), was impressed, and decided to give "In the Shadows" a shot since it had an interesting premise and the sequels sounded like they were nice to Adrien and Alya, with the second fic featuring Alya as Scarabella and the third fic going into Adrien adjusting to adult life post Hawkmoth-defeat.

I wasn't disappointed. I adore how fair it was to all of the characters, From Luka to Adrien to Marinette to Felix, and even though it's tagged as having slight Master Fu bashing, it's fair to him as well. Felix received some of the most interesting characterization in fact. He's not exactly the greatest guy, and he's not super well-liked for good reason, but he is intriguing and I found myself enjoying watching his machinations, as well as him very obviously getting a crush on Viperion that he resolutely tried to ignore. 19thSentry's love for FeLuka shown through here quite a bit.

Luka's a little different since he has a very different backstory in this fic than in canon, but he's still recognizably himself. We get to see a lot of his thoughts, feelings, concerns, and baggage, and while his feelings for Marinette are an important part of the fic, they're not the driving force behind his entire character, he's got a lot of other things going on.

Honestly even if you're normally put off by Lukanette, I'd still recommend this fic, just for the plot and characterization alone, it's really solid and deserves FAR more attention than it's gotten.

Now as for other Luka fics, ones that build out his characterization while still being recognizably him, I'd be remiss if I didn't bring up this next fic, though it's not Luka-centric by any stretch of the imagination.

All of Paris watched as Hawkmoth murdered Chat Noir, taking the Black Cat Miraculous for himself. Ladybug swears revenge, but her enemy—and every miraculous in his possession—disappear without a trace.

Six years later, a new team of villains launches an attack for the last remaining Miraculous: Volpina, armed with new powers; Queen Bee, with questionable loyalty; Argos, the new holder of the Peacock Miraculous; and Cat Walker, who Ladybug hates the most.

Takes place after S4 - Strike Back.

I adore this fic for so many reasons, but as far as Luka goes, this is the fic that gave me the best insight into why Luka might have lied to Ladybug in Wishmaker about not discovering hers and Chat's identities, and didn't bring up that he knew them in Ephemeral, when it was relevant. One of my biggest issues with Luka has been my inability to get into his head, to see what he could reasonably have been thinking and feeling that makes his actions and characterization in the show make sense. Wackus delivered here, really showcasing what he might have been thinking in those cases, with Luka not wanting to rock the boat, afraid of causing harm, until a catalyst came along and spurred him to action. Luka's characterization in one does not love breathing may not be the focus of the fic, but it's one of the parts of it that stands out the most for how unique and exceptional it is.

When Luka takes a gig playing for a drag show he's falls hard and fast for the drag queen Buttercup who uses her performances to work through her own emotions. Meanwhile Adrien's been using drag to work through his own emotions and thinks maybe Luka coming back into his life and showing interest might mean a second chance.

The ladybug, definitely. From my ocs...hmmm... I guess the elephant would be useful.

This is pretty difficult I love all of my kwamis. I guess the white lion, I really like Luxx and his powers. The hellhound (Grimm) is also really cool.

Mouse, fox, and the snake, I have the most fun with these. The bee and the dragon are kind of frustrating sometimes but they are fun.

My least favorites are Ladybug and Monarch. Ladybug is bland and Monarch is just ugly. My favorites are Catwalker (I haven't watched Kuro Neko but I saw screenshots and fanart), and King Monkey. Viperion, Vesperia, and Scarabella are pretty solid.

Pockets. Definitely pockets. Also, have my hair out of my face.

The series. I've read the bibles but they don't really elaborate that much about stuff. I wanna know exactly how Emilie got into a coma. I hope you enjoy some of the explanations of my canon divergence, as well as my overview on Miraculous pairing, and how I’ve implemented the a/b/o dynamics into this world!

Major Canon Divergence:

This fic doesn’t take place in the canon universe.

You could think of this like me taking advantage of the multiverse theory and parking my car in it.

Some things to take note of are:

This universe(the one the fic takes place in) is damaged, there will be references to “The Rift” throughout the fic, which is a large, red, globe-like tear in between two universes who have no contact with each other aside from Hawkmoth.

In our universe(as it takes place in the fic): the miraculous have been given out to heroes and are currently in alignment with what you call “good guys”.

The villains we see in the fic are desperate attempts by Hawkmoth, of the other universe, to get his hands on the Ladybug and Cat miraculous (huh, that seems familiar).

Our heroes don’t understand that, they really only understand that there’s a bad guy, and they need to protect Paris.

Which leads into another set of rules that is hugeeeeely cannon divergent:

The only Miraculous that is not in a pairing is the Bunny, and the Bunny is the team leader in this world.

A/B/O Dynamics

In this universe, we have Alphas, Betas, and Omegas. There are no other special designations!

Alphas:

-scent glands on the neck, crotch, and underarms

-have extendable canines (larger than an omega)

-natural ruts that last on average 3-5 days

-bad reputations

-has knot

-Alpha’s have an ability to subjugate denominations that fall below them in the hierarchy. This is in the form of verbal subjugation that is usually unintentional due to it being considered a taboo by most to do it.

-it is very difficult for an Alpha to force another Alpha into verbal subjugation.

-rut will make an Alpha lose a lot of coherency, where their main goal is to breed the nearest nice smelling thing they can find. Fever and general violence are side effects.

-Common slurs for Alphas are: Knot Head & Rut Chaser

Betas:

-scent glands on the neck

-relatively peaceful, this type is closest to irl humans

-considered to be better than Omegas/Alphas due to their ability to control urges

-does not have a heat/rut cycle, female Betas do have a period

Omegas:

-scent glances on the neck, lower stomach, thighs, wrists, and crotch

-have extendable canines (smaller than an Alpha)

-natural heats last on average 5-10 days

-people underestimate them due to usually timid nature

-produces slick

-makes a nest made of whatever things the Omega finds comforting. Most of the time this includes soft things & articles of clothing the Omega considers scent compatible with their pack.

-a heat consists of a preheat duration that gives warning to the actual heat. This usually lasts 24-48 hours before the Omega begins having a terrible fever-like hunger for sex. Most Omegas will take a partner for their heats, some do not. Knotting toys and other means on sating themselves are possible, but an Omega in heat will find it very difficult to be satisfied without taking a proper knot.

-common slurs for Omegas are: Knot Slut, Knot Whore, & Career Breeder.

Additional Info:

-there are heat/rut aide medications

-there are scent patches to help dampen scent

-can get pregnant: Female Omega, Female Beta, Female Alpha, Male Omega

-cannot get pregnant: Male Beta, Male Alpha

(Note: Female Alpha’s are very very hard to fertilize but in rare cases we see in some Alpha/Alpha pairings, it is possible)

(Secondary note, because someone will ask: Female Alpha & Male Omega have very similar biology in this universe. Both have anatomy reminiscent of hermaphroditic individuals. Female Alpha’s have larger cocks, while Male Omega’s have smaller cocks).

-scent is a huge thing! Everyone has their own scent profiles and no one has the same as someone else exactly. Scent profiles developed overtime as a reflection of the individual and mature fully once the character has finished puberty.

-mood affects scent! You will probably notice if a character is sad/upset, the other character will comment on scent change and this is why!

-Mating Bites!!! Mating bites can be shared by ANY denomination regardless of their born-sex. (Yes!! This includes Betas!!)

A half bond: One partner bites the other. ( A bite will bind the BITTEN person to the biter, but not the other way around)

A full bond: both parties bite each other. (Both parties are bitten, and therefor bonded)

-once bonded, the body will accept the biter as their mate, and naturally over time you will not be affected by the scent of others. Although, the scent of the person you are bonded to will affect you tenfold.
