Yin and Yang

It's always occured to me that Miraculous Ladybug is based on Yin and Yang philosophy but at the same time it's really not.

Both the symbol of the black cat and the ladybug acquired their meanings around the same time in medieval Europe. Superstitions about black cats originated during the period of witch hunts, which began in the early 13th century in Europe.The name "ladybug" comes from medieval European farmers who would pray to the Virgin Mary for good harvests. Ladybugs feed on pests that destroy crops, so their appearance was seen as a sign that their prayers had been answered.

However, Yin and Yang philosophy came from ancient China and this concept has its own symbols.

There're no records about this concept being used by ancient Chinese alchemists. However, the concepts of essences is a part of Neidan branch of alchemy, whereas experimenting with minerals and something material is a part of Waidan alchemy. So, miraculouses might be the result of combination of two of these branches.

First notice of Waidan alchemy was made during Han Dynasty (206 BCE–220 CE) and gradually declined until the Ming dynasty (1368–1644). Neidan was arguably first mentioned in in Jin dynasty (266-420). Also Ying and Yan philosophy was first mention in the 16 century. So, creation of the miraculouses should have taken place between the 16 century and the 17 century.

Dragon as the symbol of Yang, the Sun and it is connected with masculine energy, so this is considered to be a miraculous for males.

Tiger as the symbol of Yin, the Moon, on the contrary, is considered to be a miraculous for females.

Both of them are in the beginning of their way for Balance. Marinette will go through Red Dragon phase before becoming Golden Dragon. While Adrien will go through Black Tiger phase before becoming Golden Tiger.

Some Murder Deer headcanons

oh nooo please don't get dragged into the deer AU haha... unless...

here's some headcanons & ideas I got while drawing these funky lil' cervidae! enjoy... I guess?!

The Deers in general

They're considered "fawns" until the age of 18 years, then they're "bucks" or "does". A gender neutral term does exist in their species - it's simply "cervi".

Their antlers break in (regardless of biological sex) between 15 and 17 years of age.

Antler size can be inherited, but they're mostly fairly small.

Fawns keep their fawn spots as late as 25 years of age. The longer they persist, the smaller the fawns usually are in "final" height. Uzi's e.g stayed until she was 25 and she's fairly small for her species.

Copper-9 & the Absolute Solver

The entire story sets place on an earth-like exoplanet that - similar to alot of xenofiction (e.g Guardians of Ga'hoole) - has one main race populating the planet (in this case, species of the cervidae family)

The Absolute Solver is an Eldritch Organism that is fascinated by the different kinds of mammals and species on exoplanets, slowly incooperating itself into different planets, imitating their populating species and slowly rotting the planet from the core until it is no more.

On Copper-9 it finds the many cervidae looking creatures, taking on the shape of a musk deer like entity (no antlers, sharp canines, for some reasons wants to devour flesh) - seeing how alot of the main individuals have antlers it develops a secondary obsession with antlers.

The AS incooperates the body of a deceased deer, Cyn, which it found rotting away in a forest. After taking the corpse and making it it's host body it found a small 'family' (herd) of deer which included Tessa, a young doe aged 20 that isn't opposed to welcome new indiviuals into the herd. Her parents however, the leading pair of the herd, do not agree and cast "Cyn"/AS aside.

Intruiged by Tessa's welcoming presence despite the herd's cold aura the AS slowly managed to gain her trust by meeting, playing the role of a young doe lost alone in this world ("Cyn") - and Tessa takes the bait easily.

Long yap session short story, the AS kills Tessa, eats her remains and removes her antlers to fuse them to itself, as well as parts of her fur to appear more like her, hoping it could "become" her in a twisted sense of identity seeking.

The Solvers emblem appears on the "users" forehead and they can use it to regenerate and telepathically carry things around with them. An infected user needs blood to sustain themselves as they'll throw up anything that isn't blood or flesh (for example, the deer on Copper-9 eat a plant based diet).

Solver Users/hosts also grow elongated canines and sharp teeth similar to "Cyn"/AS and it's musk deer body.

The Disassembly Squads

The AS creates the Disassembly "Drones" like it did in the OG story, shaping them after deer. Similar to the OG DDs their true eyes sit on their antlers while the ones in their faces are just to blend in (well... as much as they blend in looking like they do LOL).

The DDs are created from slaughtered members of Tessa's former herd, including N(ari), V(erika) and J(ane).

The DDs also have long canines and eat flesh. They're larger than normal deer and while not capable of flight (lack of wings) they're extremely agile and fast, able to quickly outmaneuver their prey.

N, V and J have fragmented memories of their former lives before being killed and rebuilt which do haunt them. J and V suffer the most from this, N is spared for the most part.

J was Tessa's best friend and almost-partner back before they were all slaughtered, and she still remembers this. "Cyn"/AS promises J to bring back Tessa if she does what it commands of her - trusting it to keep it's word. It doesn't. Doomed Yuri.

J is killed off fairly early by Khan when he chases them out of the forest as he manages to pierce her heart with his antlers, which does kill the DDs - usually alot of deer's antlers are too short, but Khan's cool, so he has very big ones. B)

Uzi & her family

They're now called "Doemans" (yes, you may slap me) - and live in a fairly protected herd away from most dangers in a hidden forest.

Nori was killed by N but returned as ghostly entity. She lost her eye in a battle with "Cyn" but was able to escape before being destroyed - she now serves as some sort of guardian for the Cathedral the humans once inhabited, wearing a cross she found as roseary around her neck; knowing it holds the key to kill the AS.

Khan raised Uzi alone and is the main leader of the herd, thus he's a BADASS in this AU. He won't hesitate to fight N when he tried to kill off Uzi, even being able to chase him off.

Uzi is a late bloomer in regards to her antlers - most fawns get them between the age of 15-17 years, Uzi still hasn't gotten her's at the age of 19 and feels extremely sensitive about this topic. Do not mention it unless you want her to cry internally. She gets mocked over this by some of the fawns in her age range. :'))

Khan doesn't allow Uzi to go outside of the forest's borders until her antlers grow in. She hates this - and sneaks out (only to meet N, V and J - whoops!)

Due to her missing antlers N doesn't really recognize her as prey, so he is friendly until V and J are like "dude that's still a deer?? fucking idiot??" and he's like "but she's so nice to me :'(("

That's when you run, Uzi. And have your dad fight N. And win. Because in this AU he doesn't suck!! >:(

Uzi gets the Solver from her mother like in the OG, where Nori is infected by "Cyn" during their fight. It activates during N's attack on her.

Other people

Doll also has her Solver in this AU! She and her family originate from a different part of Copper-9 and lived with different herds which is why their language differs from those in Khan's herd. They mainly got along by communicating through body language :D

Yeva & Nikolai, her parents, where killed by V when they attempted to leave the forest for food. Doll escaped because V didn't spot the fawn hiding in the tall grass - and this activated Doll's Solver. Ever since she's wandering about alone, trying to find a cure for herself. She also loses her eye in another quarrel later on.

Doll's fate is similar to the OG show with "Cyn" eating her corpse after killing her in a vunerable position.

Lizzy & Thad are also around and they're siblings! They're the first fawns in the herd to tag along with Khan to help and find Uzi. Lizzy is still the chattermouth she is in the show and Thad likes to be active. It's the deer ADHD. Their father is the teacher (who isn't a teacher to be exact in this AU... but something similar B))

The Refusal and An Awakening - Lose Clarity AU

(i was gonna make this a storyline but slsbsigwisbskshksb- its just a lore dump now :/ kinda sad since cool title ^ from my brain but whatever sbksbdksns)

(but hey so remember when Moon(Nexus) put a cure into Ruin’s head? well uhhhh, here’s a little story for you guys about one major point in my AU-)

When Ruin waited for Moon(Nexus) to find him and Sun, Nexus caught him and injected the cure into Ruin’s systems. The cure rushed in his systems and Ruin collapsed, seemingly turning off for a few minutes before rebooting. However that’s not entirely the case in this AU.

I may or may not hace established this in my first post on this AU, however the virus was submerged in Ruin’s systems for years while he was in his home dimension and only started working when he left his dimension; reasons being the Creator. The Creator was the controller of those affected by the hivemind code he made in the home dimension, Ruin being unaffected due to the Creator (being a dumbass for once and not checking his sources-) i mean due to the Creator not noticing he had somehow skipped over Ruin’s code.

Back to my point - when Ruin was injected with the ‘cure’, his systems refused it. It refused the cure, his code copying itself instead. This copied code semi-mixed with the cure in his systems in a way and a small piece of a bigger puzzle was created..

Puzzle!!! the little one who Ruin is now the guardian of!!

Pre-hour of joy + Post-hour of joy.

Before the hour of joy happened and shit went all downhill, Dogday(Formally known as Noah) was actually just a big, UNIT of a fluffy buppy. He often had to lower himself down to people's levels and soften his voice just to seem less threatening to everyone, especially the kids. When it came closer to the whole hour of joy thing, his demeanor changed, and he began to act like Kevin from the urban rescue ranch(Keevviiiiin hey!). Staff members literally had to hit him away with shit and / or use shields to not get their asses bit by him, and it obviously worked for a while until he eventually snapped

We all know what happens then.

bruce meets talia while training to be Batman. damian is (unknowingly) conceived. three years later bruce becomes Batman. four years after that, talia sends damian (7) to bruce with a letter explaining everything.

two years later, damian (9) becomes Batboy

five years later, bruce finds duke (10) and takes him in. damian (14) is insecure at first but eventually grows fond of him

two years later, tim (10) starts staying at wayne manor while his parents are away. damian (16) and duke (12) both enjoy his company

a year later duke (13) becomes Signal, and tim (11) figures out their vigilante identities and helps out on comms, going by ‘T’

another year later, dami (18) becomes Leviathan and tim (12) starts going by Rumor. duke (14) is just vibing

steph (13) starts out as Spoiler when damian is 19, duke is 15 and tim is also 13

after a year working together, damian (20) and duke (16) reveal their identities to steph (14) and she meets tim (14) for the first time in-person

when damian is 21, duke is 17 and timsteph are 15, tim’s parents die in a plane crash and he is officially adopted by bruce. after this he is finally allowed in the field as Rumor (he was just doing comms/tech before)

about a year later, cass (14) shows up in gotham and bruce brings her back to the manor (damian is 22, duke is 18, and timsteph are 16)

jason (12) is found stealing the tires off the batmobile and bruce adopts him. cass (15) is the vigilante Orphan, tim (17) & steph (17) are still Spoiler & Rumor, duke (19) is still Signal and damian (23) is still Leviathan

STORY BEGINS

jason (13) takes up the Batboy mantle, and the circus comes to town. newly orphaned dick (9) is taken in by bruce. (cass is 16, timsteph are 18, duke is 20, damian is 24)

dick (10) becomes Robin, and meets babs (9) in school. they become best friends. cass (17) changes her vigilante name to Black Bat

jason (15) is killed by joker. dick is 11, cass is 18, tim & steph are 20, duke is 22, damian is 26

bruce gets lost in time. damian (27) takes over as Batman, duke (23) is still Signal, cass (19) is Leviathan in damian’s place, tim and steph (21) are still Rumor & Spoiler and dick (12) is still Robin. jason (16) is taken to the LoA and revived in the lazarus pit. dick kills the joker as Robin

jason (17) returns to gotham as Red Hood. babs is 12, dick is 13, cass is 20, timsteph are 22, duke is 24 and damian is 28. bruce is still gone so dami is still Batman and cass is still Leviathan

bruce returns. babs (13) starts out as Batgirl
