About Smtm being potentially rigged : I think the first time I noticed they were probably not being honest with the results was the stages in SMTM4 but I feel like it is so blatant in SMTM5. Like, okay, they often have this narrative of the "underdog" team and in 4, 5 and I think 6 at least they made it seem like an entire team could be eliminated in the first round stages. But they never are? Exemple : in 5, I was sure One was going to be eliminated because the other guy on his team was BewhY (who we all knew would go to the finals) but they also couldn't eliminate team MadC&Gill so early in the competition, so #Gun had to win. Same goes with the following round : all teams had one candidate (BewhY, #Gun and Superbee) but team Zion.T&Kush had 3 (Cjamm, Reddy and Seo Chulgoo). Once again, they made this whole thing about how one team could have more than 1 candidate in the finals but then obviously Reddy and Seo Chulgoo lost and we got the Cjamm VS BewhY finals we were promised since the beginning (Superbee was there too but let's be honest it was just a number of candidates thing, most didn't care about him)

Yeah, I remember being a bit upset about the #Gun and One decision (and by "a bit" I mean WAYYY too much looking back. But in my defense I was like 18 and still took SMTM kinda serious at the time cause it SEEMED more serious back then LOL) cause I felt like "Comfortable" was the superior song. And not to be a dick but that belief was kinda vindicated by the charts since it got a Perfect All Kill back when SMTM songs weren't guaranteed to hit #1 at all. It also hard to believe a Simon D/Gray featuring lost to a Jessi featuring when at the time Jessi wasn't as established as she is now.

But that said, wouldn't they have to manipulate the numbers for that to happen? And again, SMTM hasn't been found manipulating numbers as far as we know (IDK if that investigation is still ongoing or if maybe that info on SMTM was supressed for some reason, or maybe they only investigated a certain length of time back so they wouldn't have caught any manipulation on SMTM5 if they didn't look that far). So it seems like from the evidence we have, #Gun won fair and square despite the fact the general public was in love with "Comfortable".

Could be that #Gun fans got into the audience and influenced the vote? I think I remember that some Bobby and Mino fans were present at some of their SMTM screenings. #Gun was on "No Mercy" competing to be in Monsta X so I definitely remember he had an active fanbase. If you have enough of your fans in the audience they will sway your way + the people in the audience who genuinely just like your song better. That IS technically a form of manipulation or rigging but can't really be helped by Mnet/SMTM.

Then I ALSO see what you're saying about Cjamm vs BeWhy but at the same time, who else was really better. Like 90% of the contestants didn't even remember their lyrics LOL. But ALSO, this is a situation where I feel like the fans were feeling a certain way due to editing. So I feel like the episodes could have definitely conditioned fans to vote a certain way since BeWhy and Cjamm were portrayed a certain way. Which also led to people feeling "eh" about Super Bee (I definitely remember being upset that no one gave a shit about Super Bee. Again, I was 18 LOL). So it goes back into what I said in the last post about Mnet possibly using more subtle forms of manipulation. I really didn't think about the other possible uses of their infamous "evil editing" outside of just pure entertainment for the at home viewers. They use it to manipulate us into thinking things are more tense, serious, dramatic, sympathetic, etc. But it can DEFINITELY be used to manipulate the audience in voting since some of the previous episodes are out before the concert days. They're basically ARE a portion of the "at home" viewers. So they are susceptible to the narrative of the editing as well).

And even THAT ties into the points about #Gun vs One. Cause wasn't that season the one where One wasn't doing as good as before? I feel like I remember him being edited as very meek, nervous, and kinda just there but not really doing well as a contestant and POTENTIALLY should have already been eliminated. "Comfortable" was literally the only point in the season where he didn't look pitiful. I can definitely see the crowd thinking "Good song but...why are you still here again? You've done trash in every round".

I didn't even mean for this post to be this long but this is definitely a really interesting topic to me.

Despite already knowing

that #GUN wasn't going to win against CJamm, I still had high hopes for him. I was truly truly proud of #GUN on how he took his defeat. You also could tell he very much felt was he was saying and that it was coming from his heart (both the song and his response to his loss.)

But it really stabbed me in the heart when CJamm chose to be a sore loser despite winning. It hurts because I thoroughly enjoy listening to CJamm. But as I watched farther into SMTM5 he became someone I didn't want to root for. And his attitude on this last battle I just watched closed the lid on me rooting for him.

Personally, I don't know if it was the show or if that's how he really came off. Either way, I didn't like it. This doesn't mean I won't blast his music in my ears. Fuxk yea I will. I just wasn't pleased with his attitude.
