I've seen people say that Joel didn't give a shit about Gem, and that's why he quickly brushed off her death, but I disagree. That man has told Gem that he would willingly go into yellow and kill Pearl if Pearl ever killed Gem.
I personally think that the lack of reaction to Gem's death was because of the fact that Gem died to a vex. Had Gem died to another player, he would've gone and chased that person down to avenge her.

Something I really love about this adaptation of Percy Jackson is how we get to see his anger at his father; especially so when Percy pointedly refuses to go on the quest that'll help clear Poseidon's name until Grover confesses that Sally may still be alive & the quest may be a way of bringing her back. I just think that's such a realistic reaction from a child whos been abandoned by a parent. That whole scene was superb acting.

Absolute DC Comics
I have read all three of the Absolute books and here's the run down.
Absolute Batman: Working-class Bruce Wayne. His father was killed in a mass shooting at a zoo- but his mother is still alive. We get a strong sence of justice, of righting wrongs with hidden intelligence behind the brutal exterior- but he's still ultraviolent and only barely not kills people. He still has a mass distaste for guns and isolates himself in his "Batcave" which is an abandoned suite in a high rise. He's pretty introverted at the moment- but seems to have a few genuine friends, so that might just be a temporary thing while stuff got bad.
Absolute Wonder Woman: Diana without Themyscira, raised in Hell. After the Amazons abandoned their oath and betrayed Zeus, Diana was dumped into the arms of a bemused Circe, imprisoned in the isle of hell. She grew up scraping a living off of the land, fending off attacks from beasts and monsters- and then befriending them soon after. She's strong, inquisitive and extremely kind, and doesn't take any shit from people who let their pride take over their duty. She reads slightly autistic, but that might be isolation, and her relationship with Steve is very cute. Her duty as an amazon is fend off extradimensional forces who invade earth, and since the others are gone, she's the only one doing it, and has to work with earth forces. Absolute Wonder Woman was my favorite of the three
Absolute Superman: Superman without the Kents. Kal-El is introverted and self-protective. He's supposed to stay hidden, but can't help himself when people are in trouble. Since he spends so much time skulking around in caves and dark buildings, he's kind of "malnourished" when it comes to sunlight. We don't get much else of his personal thoughts.
Wonder Woman was my favorite by far- I'm not familiar with her solo comics, but I liked how she was...kind but strong. She was girlboss. She didn't take shit from small men trying to shout her down to appease their egos, but she also didn't hesitate to pull an injured man out of the waves. She's not afraid to punch her foes, but she also doesn't hesitate to befriend them.
Batman was...okay. It's Batman. He's more brutal than I'd like, and I'd like him to be more personable- but the point of this series is stripping away much of his support to him at his core- a crusader of justice.
Superman was my least favorite. I still loved it, don't get me wrong, but we haven't had the chance to get a read on his personality yet- and we don't really have a supporting cast. I'm excited to read the next issue when it releases next week. Lois Lane still working for the military is an intriguing twist.

I find it very interesting the way people have interpreted Miquella's charm by bashing on about how evil and cruel it was. And how this shows that Miquella was this evil monster all along that forced everyone to do his will.
Yet they simple disregard the NPCs personal feelings on the matter. Ansbach obviously is no fan of it, but Miquella had to do it in self-defence and to prevent Ansbach from detering his plans likely,
"the feared commander of the Pureblood Knights, who cleaved open Miquella the Kind with his blood blade." - Leda.
Thiollier I personally think was more of a way to keep him a managable distance away from St. Trina due his unhealthy obession with her, and by proxy Miquella himself. Thiollier's love for St. Trina is extreme and I can imagine uncomfortable.
Leda's views on being charmed: "But while my devotion to Kindly Miquella remains unchanged, by my troth, I am not so sure about the others."
Hornsent: " I must profess, the spell mattered little. Uphold his covenant Miquella shall, and in godhood redeem our rueful clan."
Freyja: "Don’t worry. I’ve no mind to cross any of you. The guidance of Kind Miquella remains etched into my very flesh."
Upon their deaths, Hornsent, Freyja and Leda all speak positivly of Miquella. Even Ansbach does not really have much in the way of negativity to say but wants to uphold his duty to ensure his lord can have his respect in death. Which is very valid for Ansbach to want that.
But I don't understand why people actively disregard the victims of Miquella when they're all in favour of him regardless? Hornsent should have the one of the biggest reasons to hate Miquella, but he doesn't. He should be angry that Miquella charmed him, yet he remains to respect him.
The obivous elephant in the room is Mohg. I do not know when Mohg was charmed, it's not really made clear. Was it before Miquella embedded himself in the Haligtree? Was it after and Miquella made the best out of a bad situation? Was Miquella taken after the battle of Aeonia? Who knows. We'll never know... or maybe we'll get some information to fill in the gaps one day

Lmk s5 spoliers
I wish the lmk writers would at least give wukong screentime with his own monkeys and then give it to macaque, like macaque get two scenes with them,I hope next seasons we see that wukong gets more screen time and sun family gets bond with wukong on screen then macaque getting all of it,it really annoying.
The writers seem to disregard how important sun family is to wukong character,I am really disappointed that core part of wukong character is not that important in lmk, they did have a important in s4 but I want more of it.
this is just my personal nitpick and opinions,I do love lmk but i also love jttw wukong.
I did enjoy we that in s4, they had time on screen together,I am just really biased sometimes,I just really want to see more wukong with his monkeys.

Matt Rempe is gonna get himself killed, or kill someone else. I love hockey, it's a great sport, I've been a fan since the 90s, and I know it's unpopular but I've been happy to see the number of enforcers and fights go down.
I am of the belief if you need a fight to get hype for your team you're not a very engaged fan. If you need to fight to prove your worth on a team, you're probably not that good of a player.
Rempe strikes me as someone who puts pre-Great One style hockey on a pedestal, and is too young to understand how this is going to lead to his slow death from head trauma, or a quick death of someone else-- see his uncalled hit last night that was obviously charging, and sent that guy to the locker room [sorry leafs fans i forgot his name]
Hockey is dangerous but it's also a fucking game people shouldn't be cutting 10-20years off their lives for a game. the NHL and NHLPA need to mandage better helmets, cage players (yes i know the toothless thing is the Look of the sport i don't care), neck guards, etc.
I'm tired of watching 20 year olds ruin their lives because they feel invincible and are addicted to the cheering fans.

I think I need to get back into Tyzula, it was my first otp when I got into fandom and I think I let the negativity from toxic fans destroy it for me. Also I think I had a tyzula burnout from literally reading every fic everyday that I found on the Tyzula tag and being mostly unsatisfied with the longfics since they often were left abandoned when it got interesting.
I think reading fics will be a good start to reignite the passion. Does anybody have some fic recommendations, I’ve been out of the Tyzula bubble for nearly 2-3
#my personal thoughts#nowadays I have a new OTP but that doesn’t mean I can’t ship multiple pairing simultaneously because I already do#I just want this flame to reignite#because I do feel kinda sad when I see cute tyzula art and remember back when I loved it very much#tyzula#if people take this as hate I have only one thing to say#fuck you#I had these thoughts now for some long ass time#I know that people and interests change I certainly did when I look back to who I was 3 years ago#shipping

The thing that really bothers me about “strong female characters,” meaning physically strong female characters are that many fans violently dislike them unless they are super sexy. Female characters are described as being “cool” or “badass” if they are stick-thin and wear nothing but a bra and booty shorts.
But if a strong female character is more muscular, has hair on her face, and a square jaw, suddenly she is “unrealistic” and “woke feminist garbage.” It’s utterly transphobic and misogynist and racist, especially because the more muscular/athletic body type is far more realistic than the “stick figure with massive boobs” body type.
I’m mainly thinking about animated shows or video games, but I think this applies to live action as well. Female characters are only tolerated if they have a lot of sex appeal. I’ve always had a lot of problems personally connecting to or relating to female characters, and this is one of the reasons, but mainly in animated projects.
Maybe I’m super dysphoric, but I really do wish that female characters could be seen as actual characters rather than sex objects to ogle. Men are portrayed as complex people with agency, and I wish women were portrayed that way as well.
#writing#i’ve been thinking about this a lot lately#and also that every time someone talks about this#they are quickly shut down and called oversensitive#but people get super angry if a woman isn’t extremely sexualized in something#so how am i the oversensitive one?#my personal thoughts

My thoughts on Brainy Smurf from The Smurfs (1981)
Thinking about Brainy Smurf in The Smurfs (1981), especially across those later seasons, is like watching a character slowly lose the qualities that made him both frustrating and oddly endearing at the start. In those early seasons, Brainy was pompous and overconfident, sure, but it came from a genuine place. He admired Papa Smurf, wanted to be useful, and maybe just needed some guidance on how to get along with others. When he lectured or acted as if he had all the answers, it wasn’t to put everyone down—it was his way of finding connection and self-worth, even if it meant mostly bossing around Clumsy, the one Smurf who tolerated his quirks.
In The Smurfiest of Friends, for example, we see Brainy’s softer side shine through his friendship with Clumsy. After a spat where they end their friendship, Brainy quickly realizes he’s lost one of the few Smurfs who actually puts up with him. This vulnerability is amplified when he tries to befriend an imp, who initially seems like a great new friend but soon reveals a sinister agenda. When things go awry, it’s Clumsy who comes to his rescue, reminding Brainy just how important their friendship is. The resolution, with Brainy and Clumsy making up, adds a layer of genuine warmth to Brainy's character, showing that beneath his bossy demeanor, he really does value his friends—especially Clumsy, who’s his only consistent ally.
Then there's Papa's Worrywarts, where Brainy and Clumsy team up with the Pussywillow Pixies to help transfer Papa Smurf's worrywarts to a Wartmonger. Though Brainy isn’t the most selfless character, he’s surprisingly proactive here, working with Clumsy (and putting up with his antics) to achieve their goal. This episode showcases a Brainy who, despite his flaws, is capable of helping others and even shows a certain level of bravery in taking on a risky mission.
By Season 6, though, Brainy’s personality had really taken a turn. It felt like he was no longer a character trying to prove himself; instead, he’d morphed into this caricature of ego and ignorance. Instead of showing glimmers of understanding or empathy, he doubled down on his lectures and became almost clueless in his obliviousness. He began to act like he didn’t care about anyone, only focused on making himself look smarter—ironic, considering how often he was clearly wrong. His speeches got longer, but they were increasingly empty, lacking any depth. Brainy wasn’t that well-meaning Smurf just trying to do right by Papa Smurf and his village anymore; he was now so self-involved that it felt like he didn’t even understand the consequences of his own actions.
Take The Smurfy Verdict, for instance. Brainy, who once genuinely cared about his friendships (especially with Clumsy, who had been his one consistent companion), frames Clumsy for Baby Smurf's disappearance. He shows no remorse whatsoever, even as Clumsy suffers for something he didn’t do. It’s a stark contrast to the earlier Brainy who, despite his flaws, would never have taken such a mean-spirited stance, especially toward his one friend. This version of Brainy isn’t trying to maintain any real relationship with the other Smurfs—he’s just intent on proving his own point, no matter who gets hurt.
Or look at Papa for a Day, where he gets a chance to lead, something he always seemed to want in the earlier seasons. But instead of trying to do right by the village, he botches even simple decisions, like organizing construction work. Rather than a loyal assistant to Papa Smurf, eager to prove he can handle responsibility, he seems to be on a power trip, making decisions that have no real logic or consideration for others. There’s no drive to support the community, no understanding of what being “in charge” actually means. Instead, he’s just trying to flaunt authority, showing how much he’s drifted from his earlier self who had some genuine interest in helping and learning.
The show itself was shifting, too, almost like it had stopped trusting its original appeal. In the beginning, adults could enjoy the Smurfs right alongside kids; the humor, the situations, and even Brainy’s flaws were all layered enough to appeal to both. But around the time Brainy’s character shifted, the show itself felt like it was doubling down on broad humor and simplified storylines that catered mostly to younger audiences. It was disheartening to see a once-interesting character, someone who brought an oddly complex mix of arrogance and vulnerability to the village, devolve into a hollow version of himself.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard
I was excited about the new game on Halloween, and I didn't go in with much information on the game. I do this with a lot of games I am interested in because I want to go in clueless, enjoy it and learn along the way.
I thought the game was fun in places. The premise of the game was interesting, but I had really hoped there would have been more... Fighting Solas going on since it was supposed to be about him, but I digress.
I wasn't a huge fan of the art style, however, it did grow on me. The lighting was pretty good. I didn't like finding all the chests, or the statues, it was more tedious than anything, especially when I had to save and reload for the game to actually have half of the things to show up. Qunari's look... Like weird Promethean like creatures from the Aliens: Prometheus movie. It just looks like a creepy human face digitally imposed on a Qunari and that was a major factor on why I never used Taash. Onto the topic of Varric: I didn't like that changed his hair from light blond to almost black. They also did what TLOU2 should have done... But not in a good way, either. They could have made Rook see Varric because he was someone they cared about, a close friend, etc... But they cheapened it because it was just Solas making them see him. And varrics death wasn't... impactful at all, and that's coming from someone who has been pestering Bioware to make Varric romanceable from day one. He is literally my favourite character, and I felt... Nothing for his death.
Overall, I think the game was okay, but nothing really noteworthy.

So the Bridgerton's writers really do not have a single clue of how to write Kanthony! Wtf have I just watched...? No only they did barely appeared even when they were back, as they will be gone! AGAIN!!! We will be lucky if we see a glimpse of Kanthony next season. 😑
Honestly.... Someone need to tell the writers that me, and my fellow fanfic writers are available to do the job!
I am so disappointed with what I've watched! Not only regarding Kanthony, but the entire second part! They had so much dramatic potencial in hands, and they chose the easy way out!

All Of Us Strangers - Loneliness
DISCLAIMER:
This is my personal interpretation of the film All Of Us Strangers in which both Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal gave an outstanding performance (Andrew was magnificent in every scene).
Do not read if you haven’t watched the film yet: it contains SPOILERS.
Adam (Andrew Scott) is a lonesome man who lives in a flat in London. He is gay and this, in the past, caused him sufferings for he was (also) bullied by his class mates. Not only was he called “girl” as if it was an insult, but his father didn’t do anything to alleviate his pain. As a matter of fact, in a moving scene in which I cried my eyes out, Adam stresses out that his father used to tell him “not to cross his legs like girls” and, moreover, when he heard his son cry in his room he didn’t act on it. I won’t tell you much about this tearing-up scene, but it’s important to remember how crucial it is to understand (better) Adam’s loneliness.
Furthermore, his parents died when he was just 12. He was raised by his granny, but we feel through Adam’s words and Andrew’s outstanding performance that the loss has never felt more present inside him. He cohabited with the memories of his parents, but in reality he has always felt alone.
I strongly believe that Adam has never actually "aged". To be more precise, he grew up for time had passed but his mind has always been stuck to when he was 12. And we can perceive it through Adam’s melancholic innocence and childish-like behaviour. Listen carefully to the way he speaks and look at his shy smiles: Adam is still “a child” in a man’s body and Andrew Scott nailed it PERFECTLY.
I spent the entire film wanting to hug him and only when he (finally) lets his parents go, he “ages”. He is now “mature” enough to take care of someone else: Harry’s soul.
He’s not alone anymore. The loneliness he wanted to fill with his parents’ ghosts has now been replaced by Harry’s love and the love he feels for Harry, and even though their bodies are actually strangers, their souls have never been more intimate and connected than in this very moment (the end of the film).
I exited the cinema a little bit traumatized and I felt as if I didn’t know what to do with my life, but it was absolutely worth the tears.
