this older man driving a pick up truck just eyed me up and down while i was loading up the car from the farmer���s market. had me thinking about price from a small town helping a pretty city girl to settle well. telling her local lore and little tips of how to get fresh berries on sale. showing her how to avoid traffic going to the lake. brings her around to his friends’ place, saying how he’s just really showing her around. sure, she doesn’t know that he’s been calling her his little wife for a while now, and that this show-and-tell is practically means of staking his claim, but well. things just happen for a reason, don’t it sweetheart? you’re just gon’ have to learn how to be thankful for his help, yeah?
