L-lord Bowser, I got this strange dream that a giant winged lightbulb was speaking to me. It said that it would “cleanse all worlds’’. It sounded good until it said that you were concerned “unpure” and that it would “erase you along with your entire kingdom”. When I woke up, I found out that there were other troops who had the same dream! Panicking, we fled to the Mushroom Kingdom because we didn’t really want to cease existing, but we found out that the toads got the same dream and were also fleeing their kingdom in fear of getting “erased”. A few trips to every other kingdom later, there is now a massive galaxy-wide panic because a lot of people got that strange winged lightbulb dream. Now I’m scared, are we really going to be erased!?

World of Light Final Battle Placements

Additional notes:

Those in the "Fought Galeem" tier between Snake and Mega Man (inclusive) were seen in the gameplay portions of Sephiroth's reveal trailer. Everyone else showed up during the cinematic portions. While the gameplay segments are typically of ambiguous canon, status, I've decided to include them here because of the way the gameplay portion segues into the cinematic portion with an explosion.

"Defeated during the stretch to the final battle" tier exists because the Final Battle/True Ending portion of the game consists of multiple segments: a climb to the top (occasionally interrupted by false character armies), a boss rush segment, and the ultimate battle against Galeem and Dharkon. Sephiroth's reveal trailer shows that the fighters did their best to split the work to avoid having to fight both at the same time.

"Defeated" tier doesn't differentiate between who was defeated during the climb and who was defeated during the boss rush.

Ganondorf initially wanted to help, but many people were resistant to this idea due to his soured reputation at the hands of his later reincarnation, TP Ganondorf, via his role in Subspace Emissary. Thus resulting in the creation of the "Kept Ganondorf from trying to help" tier.

As this is a different incarnation of Ganondorf, Ganondorf is confused and enraged that so many would turn down his offer to help. (Of course, he hasn't discounted the idea of turning against everyone else, but admitting to that wouldn't be good for arguing in his favor.

"Kept the previous two tiers from killing each other" exists in direct response to the "Kept Ganondorf from trying to help" tier. Largely to keep them able to still fight in the event that they were needed for the fights with Galeem or Dharkon.

The Koopalings (not pictured) and Piranha Plant were given the order from Bowser to keep Ganondorf at bay because Bowser wanted to fight Dharkon. None of them have context for why Bowser gave the order, but they like causing problems on purpose so none of them have complaints.

Omg,I just remembered one Smash bros tumblr account (that I won’t say the name of) that said that Kirby won’t really care or be invested in about the whole World of Light stuff because “He is used to this kind of thing”

Ok, an interesting concept idea

World of Light where everything’s the same except what if Piston Hondo survived the Galeem attack (in progress of not becoming a spirit) and assisted Kirby in one heck of an adventure! Like think about it; considering that Kirby has met Little Mac before and Hondo has known Little Mac in the WVBA, it would be cute to see Kirby becoming friends with Little Mac’s Japanese friend while they save their friends!
