Which trope is your favorite? I'm quite partial to a good friends-to-lovers romance.

The fact that DC isn’t capitalizing on the Billionaire Romance potential between Bruce in Clark is criminal.
It has all the markings of success. Tall, dark, brooding love interests that’s richer than God but has a tortured soul? Check. Small town protagonist who’s in over their head but too in love to care? Double check. Complicated family and/or workplace dynamics that could pull the couple apart? Triple check.
Superbat is like an Ana Huang book on steroids; I know I’ll never see it actualized but DAMN is Bruce and Clark’s dynamic perfect for it…

need to speak my truth... keep seeing that "pumpkin spice cafe" book EVERYWHERE and every single time it bothers me that the author chose "laurie gilmore" as her pen name. like putting "booktok sensation perfect for fans of gilmore girls 😍" on the cover wasn't an option so they were like ok just make your name as close to a gilmore girls character as possible and that will say the same thing. I cannot read it on principle like I just refuse to accept that could be a quality book

Thanks to NetGalley and the author for providing me with an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review
✩🐻🏕️Review:
Reading this book is like receiving a bear hug that gives you all the warm, fuzzy feelings!
“Unbearably Your” follows Charlee Fletcher and Oliver Reynolds after a twist of fate forces the former lovers to collaborate on a nature documentary and put their grudges and wounds aside. But will they survive two weeks together in the wilderness if their bond still lingers?
This was such a delightful book to read! I was completely immersed in the small town of Pine Falls and fully invested in the lives of Colliard’s compelling characters.
What sets this book apart from others is that it is told from two perspectives and split between two timelines—the past and the present—that ultimately converge towards the end. Chapters taking place in the past are written as letters exchanged between Oliver and Charlee that document their development from strangers to friends to lovers over the span of a year leading up to June 21, 2018—the day they ceased communication. As a fan of epistolary novels, I really enjoyed this touch and the seamless transition between the two timelines. The contents of each letter directly connects to something going on in the present in one way or another or another, making it easy to follow Colliard’s storytelling. Only bits and pieces surrounding why their relationship went awry are revealed over time, which kept me engaged all the way through.
I adored Oliver as soon as he graced the page! He’s so sensitive and kind and Colliard portrays his neurodivergence with care. The more time I spent with Charlee, the more I grew to love the woman beneath her tough exterior. Both characters grapple with grief, but find solace in each other even after five years apart. They have such great chemistry and this becomes only more obvious when circumstances beyond their control leave them no choice but to spend more time together the deeper they journey into the Great Bear Rainforest. I loved watching the sparks reignite between Charlee and Oliver as they worked through their pasts to get another shot at love!

Every time I read a queer romance book that's ridiculous and cheesy and cliche and doesn't create conflict from coming outs or queerness in general and is just a bottled up queer joy fantasy I cry a little bit

Hi. Do you know of any aro, ace, or aroace fantasy books that take place in a small town?
Hello! Not sure if I know of anything that's perfectly what I assume you're looking for, but here's what comes to mind:
high fantasy set in a small town/village (though generally involves traveling to other places)
The Dragon of Ynys - aroace MC
From The Dark We Came - demi MC
The Story of the Hundred Promises - aro major characters & themes
fantasy elements, small town in our world
Every Bird A Prince - aro MC (middle grade)
Ravenfall - aroace MC (middle grade, also only very lightly mentioned)
Earthbound Hearts - ace MC (kinda fabulism, not Super fantasy)
paranormal/horror set in a small town in our world
Sawkill Girls - one of the MCs is ace
Funeral Girl - aro-coded ace MC
Now Entering Addamsville - ace MC
The Many Half-Lived Lives of Sam Sylvester - acespec MC, aroace SC
The Crows - aroacespec major character (completely different vibe from the above pls check CWs lol)
there's also definitely more fantasy small town books with aspec side characters (eg The Lost Coast, The Heartbreak Bakery, Summer of Salt) but not MCs...

🦇 It Happened One Summer Book Review 🦇
❓ #QOTD What's your go-to summer read?❓ 🦇 Hollywood's It-Girl Piper Bellinger is the paparazzi's beloved wild child. There's always the promise she'll go a bit too far for the Gram, including hosting a rooftop party that lands her in jail after a bad breakup. Hoping she'll learn some sense of responsibility, her wealthy step-father ships her off to her late father's dive bar in the small town of Westport. She's not there for five minutes before she meets grumpy sea captain Brendan, and the two instantly clash. Will Piper reconnect with her past (charting a course for a new future in the process) or can she get back to LA before the end of her three-month sentence?
💜 Despite how much my beloved Booksta girlies adore her writing, I honestly didn't know what to expect from Tessa Bailey (and I'm glad, because I love shaping my own opinions). From chapter one, there's this instantly familiar yet distinct voice that SCREAMS chick-flick rom-com (with Kesha playing at full volume in the background). Piper is Alexis from Schitt's Creek meets Elle Woods ala Legally Blonde. She's vibrant and bubbly and yes, a little ditzy, but after a few chapters, you start to love her for the heart behind it. Brendan is all salt water and deep grumbles, strong yet stuck in his ways. My latest concern with rom-coms lately has been a lack of chemistry. Too many books rush to the smut, forcing two characters to fit when they just don't. Chemistry sparks off the page pretty quickly between these two, though--not in lingering glances, but in actions. Brendan has memory foam installed over a bunkbed so Piper can stop bruising herself. He changes her locks because everyone in Westport has a key to her building. It's not insta-love (but once things progress, these two burn HOT), and I'm grateful for that.
💜 It's the underlying messages that bumped this up to a rare 3.5 stars. People have been putting Piper into a box for too long, telling her she's just like every other girl in LA, that she won't amount to more. Brendan shows her she has so much more to give than she realizes. We start adoring Piper through Brendan, and that's a powerful thing. Meanwhile, Piper recognizes her worth and accomplishes far more than she thought herself capable. There's an underlying theme of guilt and grief from both sides, too; Piper for her late father, and Brendan for his late wife. They heal together and end up stronger for it.
💙 It's the third act that made my star rating falter. Piper clinging to pieces of her past, that lingering what-if of falling back into her comfort zone and old ways--Brendan shouldn't have faulted her for that, turning it into a blowout fight when Piper admitted EARLIER that she didn't know what to do. After that, it's a number of conveniently placed obstacles that keep them apart. Piper's sudden decision to go back to LA felt out of place given her character development, too. Though it wasn't a full third-act breakup, it was enough to feel exhausting.
🦇 Recommended for fans of Emily Henry, Ali Hazelwood, and Hannah Grace.

One Selkie. Two strangers. Three murders.
The small town of St. Adalbert Sur Mer is hiding a dark secret.
Three times during the summer, the lifeless body of a Selkie was dumped into the river. Naked, and with a missing pelt.
Louison is sent by her clan to investigate these murders and catch the killer, but her mission derails when she meets two charming strangers whom everyone in town seems to be falling in love with - including herself. Torn between her rising attraction towards Gabrielle and Adrien and keeping the secret of her origins, Louison must dodge tourists, deadly poachers and wildlife protection agents in a wild quest to find her sibling’s murderer - before he kills again.
Skin Deep is a queer polyamorous story where everyone is hiding something and nothing is as simple as it seems.
Now available for pre-orders in both ENGLISH and FRENCH

“Wanting used to scare me so much, because I didn’t think I had space to want anything more than what I’ve got. But wanting a future with you is the easiest thing in the world. And I want it all, with you.”
