It really gives the song its own standing against the other 'musical within a musical' style songs that preceded it in the earlier Hatchetverse productions. This song isn't separate from the show's core plot, but rather acts as Ruth's defiance against the 'loser' stereotype as she takes the spotlight for the first time and properly owns it.
