so tired of romanticising being pale. i think we'd all benefit from stepping away from that
"oh their alabaster skin/white like a victorian ghost/just blinding in the sun" type of thing? good for you if it resembles a porcelain doll, but i have skin conditions and the line between it looking okay, maybe kind of cool to sickly is as thin as the violet-blue veins on my thighs. cannot stress this enough, it's a raw chicken situation when you don't put the balm on. the strawberry legs after shaving are just there, being strawberry. the discoloration alone can take you seeing all the colors like green, yellow, violet, pink etc hues. get yourself a nice sunburn from half an hour of direct sunlight for the whole packet. every bigger bruise looks like the whole limb needs amputating? and all of these are neutral bodily things! i just wish i saw normal pale skin that doesn't look like fine china around more

today i watched my first cillian murphy movie. it was watching the detectives and it was so fun! very cutesy and manic pixie dream girl-esque, and even i fell for violets antics a few times. lucy liu is soooo mommy in that movie, i can’t even function. i had been deciding on whether or not i found cillian attractive, and after watching the movie, i can safely safe i was left yearning for my very own film bro neil louis <3. tomorrow i will likely make an appointment with my doctor about my cough. gotta get to the bottom of this before i go back to campus! also hoping these three pesky bumps on my forehead that look like pimples but aren’t actually pimples go away very soon! or else i will go categorically insane!!!!!!
3 things i’m grateful for:
cillian murphy (unsurprisingly)
lucy liu (unsurprisingly)

The Dark Side of Beauty Websites
Unveiling the Harmful Impacts
In the digital age, beauty websites wield immense influence over how individuals perceive themselves and others. While these platforms can provide valuable tips and product insights, they also harbor a myriad of negative impacts that often go unnoticed. From underage usage and misleading information to perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards and promoting the misuse of products, the darker facets of beauty websites deserve critical examination.
**Underage Use and Vulnerability**
One of the most concerning aspects of beauty websites is their accessibility to underage users. Preteens and even younger children are increasingly drawn to these platforms, seeking advice on skincare, makeup, and fashion. While some guidance may be harmless, exposure to complex beauty routines and product endorsements can lead to premature concerns about appearance and self-worth. Moreover, the pressure to conform to adult beauty standards at a young age can result in self-esteem issues and unrealistic expectations.
According to 3 different POVs It reveals 3 different variety kinds of answers,
According to Gwen, she reveals that it is very common, especially in public schools, skincares seems to be the daily life topic and activities, Uma said that we should only use skincare at the appropriate age (12-13) years old or after puberty because little kids don't need skincare. Meanwhile, for Maurene's POV she believes that some areas that have experienced the phenomenon with preteens, are dealing with skincare at a very young age and because of social media on products including colorful packaging and the influence of beauty influencers.
**Misleading Information**
Beauty websites often tout miraculous transformations through products or procedures, presenting them as universally effective without adequate scientific backing. Misleading claims about the benefits of certain ingredients or treatments can lead consumers to spend money on products that may not deliver promised results or, worse, could be harmful. The lack of regulation and oversight in this digital space allows misinformation to proliferate unchecked, potentially endangering the health and well-being of users who trust these sources.
Maurene believes that, some advertisement are bringing bad impacts toward the wrong audience, because most preteens are not fully aware to what the skincare their using like chemical reaction or irritation and it's the worse scenario when you advertise a products and it reaches the wrong audience, Gwen said that they are trying to achieve that standards, because it is not needed in daily life, especially the campaign persuades the buyers due to marketing. Uma said that Kids these days are looking at social media seeing other girls have clear skin and no acne and they thrive to want their skin to look "perfect" but it's all actually filters and no one actually has "perfect" or "imperfect" skin, the negative impact is their spreading lies and insecurities
**Perpetuating Unrealistic Beauty Standards**
Perhaps the most pervasive issue with beauty websites is their role in perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards. From flawless skin to perfectly contoured features, these platforms often promote a narrow definition of beauty that is unattainable for most people. Filters, airbrushing, and digital manipulation further distort perceptions of reality, creating an unattainable ideal that can lead to dissatisfaction with one's natural appearance. This constant bombardment of idealized imagery can erode self-confidence and contribute to a culture of comparison and insecurity. According to Gwen, Beauty standards are very big, and it impacts teen life. It's because they are trapped in stereotypes of perfect girls. Maurene said, because of social media skincares is one of the teens that sometimes puts their eye on because skincare is a tool that can break you or make you but a false use of skincare can hurt you because you never know the chemical reaction to your skin. Uma said it is too big, but a waste of time.
**Misuse of Beauty Products**
The endorsement and promotion of beauty products on websites can sometimes encourage their misuse or overuse. Influencers and advertisers often highlight products as must-haves without adequately addressing their potential side effects or proper usage guidelines. This can lead consumers to experiment with products in ways that are unsafe or ineffective, risking allergic reactions, skin damage, or other health complications. The pressure to achieve quick results can override the importance of responsible product usage, putting consumers at risk of harm. According to my mom and sister, it is needed to search deeper in your skin types to prevent breakout or skin irritation, especially when their first audience was a pre teen first-timer on beauty products.
**Conclusion**
While beauty websites offer a wealth of information and inspiration, their negative impacts cannot be ignored. From influencing underage users and disseminating misleading information to perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards and promoting the misuse of products, these platforms wield significant power over how individuals perceive and care for themselves. Moving forward, greater transparency, responsible content creation, and consumer education are essential to mitigate these harms and promote a healthier, more inclusive beauty culture. As consumers, being mindful of the sources we trust and the messages we internalize is crucial in navigating the complex landscape of beauty in the digital age.
It is must remembered that we must not normalize this problem, especially as it can impact and ruin our childhood, feeling insecure and different perspectives about beauty in future generations. Being a teen is hard in this society and we can probably change the perspective of the skin care itself and bring it as a healthy POV towards skincare.

hi random person visiting thru one of ur posts. i also have evil hell dandruff and i found coal tar shampoo is basically perfect for helping to keep down the flaking :) unfortunately the itching wont go all the way away tho :(
Oh yeah for sure, I actually have like 6 bars of coal tar soap, plus coal tar shampoo, plus Neutrogena acid free face wash (it has salicylic acid), plus normal shower stuff. I am in itch and drift hell. Basically the only time I don't itch is straight after a shower, but if I just tousle my hair a little bit it's a snow drift and feels Terrible
(For those unaware, salicylic acid is a skin product that helps dead skin strip off easier and acts like a mild antibacterial, usually used for acne or, if you watch hoof gp videos, the powdered form is used to allow dead skin to separate and keep exposed live skin from getting infected. In the case of dandruff, all it does is help make the top layer of dandruff easier to remove. Coal tar extract and coal tar, however, actually inhibits skin growth specifically, preventing dandruff and such caused by shedding excess overgrown skin like in psoriasis. Another option for who's issue is eczema instead of psoriasis and normal causes is products containing Colloidal Oatmeal, since eczema involves try skin that cracks and needs moisturizing and soothing, rather than scales of dead skin that are easily peelable. Usually dandruff shampoos have neither, such as head and shoulders which has pyrithione zinc in normal products, and usually selenium sulfide in stronger products aimed at fungal issues that cause dandruff. If you suffer from untreatable dandruff, explore your options on potential causes, and try different active chemicals that attack different sources of the issue)

welcome back to my personal ramblings! i hope this helps those going through it with acne right now (even if you haven't found your "glass skin" solution yet) or, if you don't personally have acne, i hope this helps you understand what it's like and how you can support someone struggling with the condition of their skin.

don't wash your face, instead clean it with micellar water and then apply your creams, if you have products that require you to use water, get one of those water filter jugs (brita and similar brands) and fill it the night before, pour it in bowl and wash your face with clean, filtered water
Brother all this work.... i'll look into the filters, though. Micellar water makes my skin feel awful, tho i guess i'll look into different brands, mayyybe
Thanks tho <3

Hey just a friendly reminder. This is why we patch test products 🫢
About to try a new brand of body wash and one of them peeled the top layer of my skin off in less than a minute. Good thing I didn’t take a whole bath with it 😬
