He's been teaching at King College London for a long time now thank you very much and he does not take kindly to new Professors being sprung on him suddenly. *Minor Spoilers* This one packs in a ton of story for 30K words! My attempts so far of giving a plot summary just sound confusing, so I'll let you go into this with just the author's summary.

This story takes inspiration from multiple romance tropes and blends them together to make a very entertaining story. I loved the rivalry between them, and how flustered they both get! So quick to assume the worst of each other's intentions to the point where it just spirals out of control. On the other hand, we have such a tender penpal relationship that feels right at home to all of us in fandom. The way the two sides come together is thrilling and humorous! I couldn't help but laugh at how Aziraphale reacts when his two worlds collide.

I also thought the side characters were very fun! Especially Gabriel, who has done some unforgivable things to Aziraphale. The story makes it a point to not forgive him for those actions, but it does let him be better ish going forward. I just felt it was very true to Gabriel in post season two. Anathema was also a favorite of mine.

Mostly safe in public, there's a short fairly non explicit scene at the very end. This is is for fans of bitchy Aziraphale and secretly sweet Crowley. It was overall a very fun read!

Ch 1: Hell's Graveyard Shift Is Run by Interns

Summary

When Hell fails to notice Crowley’s Very Good Deed, he is left in an Edinburgh graveyard trying to navigate a world tilted by laudanum. Fortunately for him, Aziraphale has no intention of leaving him to fend for himself. Fortunately for both of them, Crowley's compromised brain-to-mouth filter leads to a far more enjoyable evening than they expect.

Crowley stared at Aziraphale through a long, drunken pause during which his brain's temporal lobe made an admirable effort to process Aziraphale's words. It was mostly unsuccessful, but it could hardly be blamed for the visual cortex hogging all of Crowley's attention.

“You're so lovely!” He loudly blurted out with a toothy grin, before continuing. “You're like…glowy. Twinkly? No, 'bright’, probably. Oh I know the word- beautiful! You're beautiful. Beautiful Angel. Oh! And when you smile like that it's even better!”

Hooray, I’ve managed it for the second week in a row! *If you have written/illustrated one of the works I've mentioned and I've not tagged you, please let me know!*

Completed works I've read this week:

Under Construction by @summerofspock Rated E – Honestly, this one can be summed up by the rather excellent tags ‘there was only one wifi’, ‘weaponized coziness’, ‘erotic woodchopping’ and ‘emotionally significant flannel’ (as in the shirt, not the miniature towel for cleaning one’s self…). It’s cosy, it’s Hallmarkian, it’s disaster puppy Crowley, and Aziraphale has a beard. 10/10 no notes.

Temporal Adjustment by @ukcalico & @vavoom-sorted-art Rated E – Written by Calico to accompany the ever-wonderful vavoom’s art, it’s a Post S1 Ritz scene which plays with time and some *very* spicy scenes. Three chapters of mild D/s content – mind the tags if you’re new to that world.

Sweet Dreams: A Companion Fic by @sixbynine-da & @vavoom-sorted-art Rated E – went down a vavoom rabbit hole, which is truly a delightful hole to go down…pun erm…not intended? But perhaps it was. Anyway. The tags initially had me hesitant to read this one (blood drinking, blood as lube) but it was a much more minor point than I was worried about and it ended up being a beautifully accepting, tender, loving story. I shed a couple of tears at this one.

You Can Stay At My Place, If You Like by AstroGirl Rated T – A lovely, touching piece about the moment A & C switch corporations/bodies and get to experience each other’s thoughts and feelings. Both POVs are written throughout the story, which adds a richness and emotion to it.

If It Looks Like A Duck, And Buzzes Like A Duck, It’s A Sex Toy by @quefish77 Rated M – Look at me bring the tone down after the last recommendation, but ho hum. This one had me weeping with laughter. Once again, the tags tell the story for me: ‘Look if you’re here for medical advice I got bad news for you’, If you don’t say WTF and laugh at least 3 times I’ve failed’, ‘Tags Are Fun’, ‘How many will you read before you roll your eyes and read the fic?, ‘Congratulations! You made it to the end of the tags’, ‘I lied there are more tags’. Yes…there were more tags. I laughed continuously throughout the entire fic, so I’m not sure if that counted as more than three times, and I read all the tags before I started reading, but I can guarantee this does not disappoint, but then none of Quefish’s work ever does if you’re looking for humour.

Aziraphale’s Diaries series by azzfell & @fellshish Rated T – This is a four-part series of humorous, fluffy diary entries written by A. 1. Empirical study on the principles of snake care – A tries to look after C as you would a snake…be ready to cringe and facepalm and giggle 2. Experiments of an angel who has read entirely too much fanfic – A finds fanfic. Tries some of what he’s read on C. Yikes. 3. How to be a demon: a brief history of the Arrangement – I can’t describe it any better than the authors’ description: “The Arrangement: the hard and challenging life of an angel who tries to make a demon do good deeds, and in turn has to perform temptations and wear devilishly sexy outfits.” 4. Adventures of a mystery shopper in the bookshop – this was by far my favourite. A puts C in charge of the bookshop…and then mystery shops. I laughed. And laughed. And laughed.

Lit by @fellshish Rated T – C decides to take a Uni course on literature (for absolutely no reason whatsoever…definitely not because he wants to impress a certain angel with his literary knowledge, nope, nuh uh)…but it turns out to be slightly different to what he was expecting…and they’re discussing Good Omens. Shit.

If You Touch Me You’ll Understand What Happiness Is by locketofyourhair Rated E – It’s no secret I like a bit of angst. You need only read what I write to get smacked round the side of the head with it. This one’s got it in spades. C confesses their love for A – repeatedly – through time. To keep them safe, A erases the memory of the confession each time. But A never forgets. Ouch. It does have a happy ending, though. Phew.

Lace And Gold Braid by @elsajeni Rated M – After rescuing A from the Bastille, C went to bed for 70 years. He never actually said he was sleeping. This fic goes into lots of delicious detail about A’s slutty, slutty outfit. The imagery is really well written and it has a podfic!

There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out by @phoen1xr0se Rated M - A is a researcher (puffins!), C is a lighthouse keeper on the island where A has run away to to escape his problems and do his research. The author has recently spent a week studying puffins - which is the ultimate dedication, if you ask me. Ch 9/26 posted this week

Find The Light by @klikandtuna Rated E - Headmaster A and Rockstar C. The story teases out a fraught history between them whilst keeping a tension between them in the modern day. Ch 6/? posted this week.

Terminus by @emotional-support-demon-crowley Rated T - Astronaut A is guided back to Earth by controller C after 92 years in space. There are many difficulties both of them have to face and they develop an amazing rapport. Ch 16/17 posted this week.

Oddity by @tsyvia48 Rated E - Actor C is contracted by (useless) Gabriel to guest curate an exhibition at the museum where A works. After getting off on the wrong foot, can they work together to pull off this show? Ch 23/26 posted this week (note increased chapter count!)

Under The Summer Stars by @pannotbread Rated E - This wonderful fic has taught me more about physics than school ever did (mostly because I never did any physics, but...well). A & C have to share their time at an observatory because there is Only One Telescope. Not only will you learn about astrophysics, astrobiology, and astroecology, you'll also read some of the most poetically, beautifully written masturbation scenes I've ever seen. *ahem* Ch 7/13 posted this week.

Exodus2 by @tismrot Rated E – Human AU set in a dystopian future. The summary says it best, really: Ezra studies programming at the University of ha-Gan. He’s as determined as he is damaged, as fastidious as he is precise, and likes to believe he'll stop at nothing to achieve his goals. His beliefs are challenged when a new student appears late to the first Ethics module lecture - and his life is changed forever. It's the future, it's dystopian, it's cyber and it's punk. It's political, grimy and slick with tears, lube and chemical snot. TW: Sex, drugs, trauma. Ch 28/35 posted this week.

Free by well, me: imposterssyndrome Rated E - A & C meet (again?) in an acute mental health ward after both having had mental health crises. A runs a bookshop but is very much under his parents' control. C has been homeless since childhood and has struggled his entire life. They do not trust each other when they first meet, but feel strangely drawn to one another all the same. Where will this lead them? This is a passion piece for me. There is a lot of lived experience in it, and extensive research from both professionals and peers. It has been a real journey for me to write it, and as I'm coming closer to the end it's becoming very emotional for me. Ch 45/? posted this week

A smutty, first-time getting-together collab fic by @doonarose and @sixbynine-da

(Yes the @goodomensafterdark event is over, yes this spiralled out of control, yes there's smut in this chapter. Also feelings!)

CW/TW: Explicit sex, voyeurism/exhibitionism themes, oral sex, piv sex, masturbation.

Summary: Aziraphale and Crowley find themselves with an unexpected increase in workload post Apoconot. Finding that it’s not really working for either of them, their only reasonable solution is to summon duplicates of themselves to share the work. But their replicas aren't entirely faithful copies and they quickly demonstrate that they have minds of their own.

Excerpt:

“I really can’t believe they aren’t doing this,” Antonia remarks, as they fall, tired and satisfied, back into the mound of pillows and thousand-count Egyptian cotton sheets. Her voice cuts through Zira’s reverie as her fingers twist and tug at the curls across his chest.

“Hmm?” Zira hums, half paying attention and not really able to parse her meaning properly in his post-coital haze of contentedness.

“Fucking,” She replies, “I cannot believe they aren’t going at it like rabbits. I mean we certainly did. Immediately.” She raises an eyebrow in his direction and Zira half sees it out of the corner of his eye, smiling indulgently in her direction.

“Well, they very clearly aren’t. If they were, we would remember it because we remember everything.”

Antonia lifts her head from where it’s been nestled under Zira’s arm for the last little while. She turns her body towards his and places her chin on the back of her hand against his chest. “I know they’re not fucking but I just can’t believe it. It took us all of a day to figure this out!”

He chuckles and she feels it rumble through him.

“Perhaps we just got lucky, my dear,” Zira suggests, running the backs of his fingers down Antonia’s arm.

“Yeah, but they’ve had six thousand years,” Antonia moans. “I remember those six thousand years, there were plenty of opportunities to ‘get lucky’. I mean do you remember Job? They were literally trapped in a basement together. Or what about that time in ancient Rome? The Bastille?” Antonia lifts her head up and looks at him dramatically. “The church, Zira. The church! I saved your books!” She flops back down on his chest with a huff, “And I can guarantee they’d be less concerned with keeping busy — keeping us busy, as well — if they figured their shit out,” she finishes grumpily.

Summary: Former guitarist for the famous Heaven's Gate rock band, Luke Godston isn't exactly living the high life after being kicked out just as they were making it big.

Teaching spoiled kids how to pass piano exams wasn't what he wanted to be doing with his life and it's hard letting your past go when they're plastered all over social media and loved up with another man.

But life has a funny way of coming back around.

Maybe this time things will work in Luke's favour for once....

Excerpt: Luke’s train of thought cut off as he took in the person next to Stan. There must be a person, mustn’t there, somewhere inside the tightest, blackest pair of jeans Luke had ever seen. They rose up into an impossibly long waist, tight black shirt pulled taut across a flat abdomen leaving very little to the imagination. All topped with a strangely familiar, sharp face hidden behind cheap sunglasses and red hair pulled up into a messy bun. 

“Oh, Luke, have you met our new teacher?” Stan walked towards him, and Luke forgot every complaint he’d ever had.

“Luke! I didn’t know you’d be here!” The jeans smiled at him widely and Luke was pretty sure the room got a shade brighter.

“Crowley?” he asked, softly. “Is that, I mean…”

Crowley let him flounder for a moment, eyes twinkling with mischief. “Same old Crowley, new pronouns though!” He glanced down at his frame. “Plus a few minor improvements.”

While Ligur liked to exercise his natural tendency for violence and dominance, on occasion he preferred to be on the receiving end of that sort of attention, and with the trust of an Arrangement between them, Hastur was the only one he would dare to let indulge him.

Ch 3 (finally!): Look At The Stars, Look How They Shine For You

~*~ Happy Season 2 Anniversary everyone! ~*~

I'm finally done with my extremely long fic hiatus, and I'm looking forward to you getting to read the next 4 chapters that are done! This one is THE very science-y (and footnote-y) chapter, with also lots of sweet fluff.

Summary:

From their vantage point on the grass, and safe from the prying eyes of Heaven and Hell, Aziraphale encourages Crowley to pass the sobering-up time acting as Aziraphale's tour guide of the night sky. Little did he know how some of the info would affect each of them.

Excerpt:

“They are also binary, but instead of just being two stars orbiting one another, this is two entire galaxies.”

Crowley cleared his throat and became very expressive with his hands, the two of them demonstrating with unsteady swirls and arcs the hypothetical paths of the two far off galaxies.

“Instead of two stars orbiting one another in nice stable ellipses, two galaxies circle and weave around irregularly, passing closer and farther and closer, until they eventually…”

Here, Crowley paused to look over with hands frozen in the air, and Aziraphale’s throat clenched with anticipation despite himself, the pull of Crowley's antics born of enthusiasm too great to resist. “...Collide!”— Ppfffwhooo! — and combine!"

Crowley smashed his fists together, fingers flourishing outward in time with his explosive sound effects, a riotous display he performed on a lopsided loop with joyful abandon. Aziraphale idly wondered how much of Crowley's demonstration was actually scientifically accurate(^), and how much was influenced by laudanum.

(^)Footnote: Aziraphale would be pleased to know that Crowley's hand motion demonstration was approximately 78.35% accurate.

“So for now, they're partway through the process, so all the matter, like gas, and dust, and bigger stuff too! Asteroids, planets, and stuff— that is floating around out there just follows them everywhere.” Crowley beamed at Aziraphale, his voice rising with excitement as he drew a spiral emerging from one of his galaxy-hands in the air above them. “They’re positioned such that the galaxies and all the spirals and clouds of matter together form what looks like a heart!” He sobered slightly but was still grinning. “Not, ya know, an anatomical human heart. But the human-invented simple shape they use to represent a heart and…” Aziraphale swallowed at the same time Crowley weakly cleared his throat. “And love.”

“Oh!” Aziraphale said a little breathlessly. “That sounds absolutely lovely!”

Crowley’s erratic arms fell gently back to the ground. The side of his pinkie happened to lightly press up against Aziraphale's. Neither of them moved away. All of Aziraphale's mental focus was on that point of contact.
