We made it.

February 19th, 2024: launch date of the epic fic project.

January 19th, 2025: the publishing of the epic fic, named The Serpent and the Owl, starts.

11 months in the making. Wow.

Total amount of people who wrote or made art for this epic fic: 

69 writers and artists.

Total amount of people involved in the project: 

75 people, including:

5 betas (+3 writers and 1 artist who took on the task)

This is the first part of a series in 7 parts.

Expect a new chapter of this epic fic every Wednesday and Sunday for the next 6 months.

And I promise: there is a happy ending to this story. Just not quite yet.

When I launched this crazy idea, based on Soggy’s request on the GOAD Writers Guild subreddit, I would never have thought it would turn into this.

Hell, part of me didn’t believe the project would succeed. 

Did I wish very hard it would? Yes, of course.

Was I fully convinced it would? No. With such an endeavour, with so many people involved, and a full narration to develop with dozens of participants, I had no way of being certain of it.

And yet, look at this: it’s ready, after 11 months, to be shown to this subreddit and to the Good Omens fandom.

I cannot begin to find the right words to express how I'm feeling as well. This feels a little surreal; we managed to make something cohesive, might I even say a good story, with so many people involved.

I have to say... seeing the first bits of conversations that we had on this project, and remembering how everyone was confused and scared at first, throwing ideas left and right and trying to even start to having something coherent and cohesive...

We're finally there, and it's beautiful and glorious and it's thanks to everyone and.... ❤️

Crawly is a singularity, born in the Empty and thriving in it, until the day Life settles into the universe. As that happens, she descends onto the planets in her vicinity.

Several centuries, maybe even millennia, pass; Crawly got integrated enough in the society of a planet that she (I'll go with she/her pronouns) is the long-standing Queen and main deity of that planet.

Aziraphale comes as a scientist from another planet that hers made an agreement with; thus begins their relationship. Crawly slowly comes to terms with her feelings with Aziraphale as their story evolves and their travels through the galaxy continue.

Excerpt:

Of all the places that Jala could have expected to find the Mother of All Suns, the cemetery of a remote village wasn’t her immediate thought; and yet, when she saw Her, there was no possible doubt.

A statue was standing on a pedestal, holding a sword in front of her legs. She had her eyes closed peacefully, her eternal beauty remained in her stone flesh, a lone ruby shining on her forehead like a diadem. Her hair fell like a veil from her head over her shoulders, arms and waist, circling her entirely.

Jala was certain of one thing; anybody who didn’t need her presence or believe in her would have passed this statue by without much thought, or might have just recognised the shape of the statue as an ancient former Queen of the planet. Jala however remained in awe before it for a very long time, pulled in by its magnitude.

She eventually closed the distance between them, climbing on the pedestal and rising to meet her gaze, raising a hand to stroke the stone cheek. “How long we have looked for you, my Queen,” she whispered, a tear breaking from her eye and trickling down her face. “How desperately we craved your presence.”

The statue remained lifeless between her fingers, but Jala smiled. The end was nigh.

"Kinda checked out for a while.” She swallowed. “I still don’t know what happened exactly, just that one day David was gone and it was like a cloud lifting.” She shrugged. “I was pissed, we had a huge fight. I thought he was being a jealous twat and using his connections to run off the competition.”

Charles snorted, “I’ve known him like forty eight hours and even I can tell Edwin’s gay as fuck,” he tilted his head and scrunched his face up. “Although to be fair, he was balls deep in another dude when I met him. So…” (K was fucking HARD man!! )

I just love the idea of Edwin marrying Crystal, it's hilarious to me. the arguments. They both move in the same social circles and get married cause, like, rich ppl problems and Edwins all 'well she'll do i guess' but Crystal is fucking wild and his life is never the same. My HC for this is he married her to save her from the shame of an unplanned teen pregnancy. He's never slept with her, everyone knows that, he's gay AF but he refuses to get a paternity test and insists the child is his even though it clearly fucking isn't. (this one is cheating a bit cause it more of an outline than a fic right now)

"Nope, absolutely not. He’s your hot mess not mine. I will be eavesdropping though.” She blew him a kiss and retreated back to her bedroom just as Charles burst into the living room, shoes still on, sweaty and shivering from the cold outside. 

“Edwin!”

“You don’t need to yell at me.”

“I’ve done something really stupid.”

"Gonna get your kit off?” Charles asked. Edwin licked over his bottom lip and rolled his eyes properly at Charles,.“Honestly if that’s how you’ve been treating girls it’s no wonder they all left you.”

She stretches and stands, nude and unashamed, and pads silently to the window and out onto the balcony. 

The moon is high in the sky and lights her up, reflecting off pale flesh and giving just a hint of the scales moving restlessly below her skin. There is a subtle whoosh of air and Crowley sighs and turns around.

“Aren’t you tired of following me around?”

One hand clung to the edge of the counter as if it would somehow stop him sinking any further, even as he gave up and did exactly that, large, impossible sobs bubbling out of his chest no matter how hard he tried to push them back in. 

Aziraphale gasped, trying to catch his breath, his vision swimming as he felt arms wrap around him and a soft voice murmur in his ear. He wanted to argue, wanted to fight and scream and kick and demand to just be left here in the mouldy remnants of his home; his life.

From there it differs though, none of them have a full recollection of Heaven — or if they do, those Demon’s aren’t sharing — but most of them recall their fall.

It’s hard to forget the vast nothingness swallowing you and the sharp snap of something you hadn’t realised you had being broken. 

It wasn’t fire and brimstone. 

It didn’t burn away her skin or destroy the bright white of Grace embedded in her core.

No. 

God didn’t leave willingly.

That, you had to do yourself.

"TThank you.” He murmured, “I think we can go home now.”

Warlock nodded and they turned and began the slow walk home. Aziraphale let the wind dry his eyes, the salt from the sea mingling with his own and settling dryly on his skin. He took a deep breath and tilted his head back, eyes closed, to let the crisp sea air wash over him.

The Scent Of You by GayDemonicDisaster (E)

Werewolf and Alpha/Beta/Omega AU. NO pregnancy/babies (I’m tokophobic). This fic is all about clear, enthusiastic consent, zero dubcon. Only werewolves and half werewolves are affected by A/B/O dynamics - normal humans are normal humans. Lots of Aroace representation in this as well, as the majority of betas are aroace spectrum. Crowley is an alpha werewolf living with his pack in Mayfair, in the midst of a city-wide upheaval in geopolitical boundaries amongst his kind causing disruption. He stumbles across Aziraphale, who, unbeknownst to her, isn’t actually human, but part werewolf and an omega. She has some of their senses, and is affected by the Alpha/Beta/Omega dynamic. Aziraphale’s employer, Ms. Angela Michael, is curiously hostile to Crowley’s arrival, so Aziraphale decides she needs to know what’s going on, and only Crowley has the answers she seeks. CW/TW: crimes against tea

Summary: English transplant Aziraphale is adjusting well to his new life in Australia — thanks in no small part to his gorgeous, tea-loving, surf instructor boyfriend Crowley. With Christmas just around the corner, Aziraphale realises celebrating the holidays Down Under means giving up some of his favourite traditions, including snow. Meanwhile, Crowley is searching for the perfect gift for Aziraphale. A catchy advert for an indoor ski resort soon has their snowboards sliding, tea bags steaming, and jingle bells ringing!

Who’s up for a holiday cup of tea??

Except: Crowley wiggled an eyebrow and enjoyed the blush that rose up on Aziraphale’s cheeks. But then another thought struck him. “Only… you do realise it’s not winter here, right? Or rather it’s Aussie winter, which means it’s hot. Proper hot. I literally do not know how you are in here with that fire going.” On second thought maybe Aziraphale wasn’t blushing, he was sitting right next to an open flame.

Aziraphale frowned and looked at the fire sadly. “You mean… no jumpers?”

Crowley shook his head and watched Aziraphale’s face fall a little.

“No cosy fires?”

Crowley looked over at the flickering flames and shook his head again. “I’m surprised that thing even lights up.”

Aziraphale stared pensively into it for a few seconds, then sighed and turned back to Crowley. “So… no snow?!?!”
