I read more than I expected this month!! Really loved rereading King of Wrath and adored Unfortunately Yours (much much better than Secretly Yours). King of Pride was fun too but Dante and Viviane are still top tier of the series for me as of right now. Diving back into the Off Campus series has been so much fun. These characters have a special place in my heart and revisiting them has been awesome! I was a little disappointed in Sinners Condemended and Consumed because I expected it to go better but am still interested to read the next books in the series. How did your reading go this month?

so i have been up and running to find some good mafia romance books for sooo long coz apparently danielle lori ruined those for me, i just can't find any book close to the made series....until.. now, so thanks to @lighthousepigeons whose amazing incorrect books quotes keeps us entertained! i came across the sinners anonymous series after reading one of their jokes and instantly went to read it.

needless to say this was IT! this book was literally one of the only books i think could come close enough to the made series, i have finished all three in the series and am desperatly waiting for gabe's story.. . literally *chefs kiss*

Oh, also in regards of permanent damage all of that drugging might actually damage Alastor's stomach lining and stuff. Though if it results in Alastor no longer being able to eat well spiced food it might just end up a final nail in the coffin for his hopes of his afterlife ever getting better

Oh, I did not know that! However, this does depend on how the regenerative system works in Hell! Some people go by a sort of "respawn/regrowth" Take that if you get harmed by anything not angelic (and you're a sinner), it'll heal. So his stomach lining and anything associated would, with this theory, just keep healing!

However, I honestly don't like that idea entirely. It just feels way too "videogame-y" to me and doesn't fit "eternal punishment" exactly. So my thought process has kind of always been: if you get flattened like a pancake by like a car or something, you STAY flattened like a pancake but remain alive and in pain. Same with if you lose a limb, if you lose a limb it doesn't just regrow. If you want it back, you'd have to reattach it. If someone gets decapitated but not by an angelic weapon? They're still alive, just their body is running like a headless chicken and their head can only really do head things until it gets reattached back to the body. Maybe if they say get hit in the head or anything they'll knock out for a bit and wake up, but not sure. I can see there being clinics to help heal these things at the least (like re-attaching limbs or unflattering someone). Which, if going by this route, Alastor would have some stomach damage that could be interesting to dive into! But I can also see Charlie or Lucifer helping Alastor out by healing these parts of him (whether by themselves or doctors from sloth, I don't even know if Charlie or Lucifer have healing magic) when he complains or realizes the issue. With that said, even then I can see Alastor sorta trying to hide it because he still doesn't want to show any weakness.

I can 100% see him going in to eat some spiced food, realizing he can't stomach it, and having that exact thought of shit not getting better. So I dunno if I'd actually want Alastor's stomach to heal at any point with that said...

I do hope at some point we'll get a better grasp as to how Hell's death system works. Because I don't even know if it was ever confirmed or not that non-angelic weapons can kill or harm permanently? I mean, what happens when the cannibals eat someone? Someone just able to regenerate from that at some point would be strange. But it seems like they've made it a point that only angelic weapons can kill sinners or even possibly demons (i.e. Striker needing an angelic weapon to kill Stolas. Which iffy since Goetia in the bible were fallen angels too but we don't know if that's the case here too well. Especially since Stolas clearly grew up in Hell and we'd only have Paimon to work with to know.) One of the many worldbuilding issues of these series I'm afraid haha.

For Bastard child au. Assuming that Lucifer finds out before the finale how would he respond to knowing Alastor got hurt fighting Adam? How would Charlie?

I've been waiting for an excuse to talk about this! Well, not this exactly, just...

Okay, so the general consensus is that Lucifer couldn't step in sooner with the extermination because he had an agreement with Heaven, and that Adam broke that agreement by targeting Charlie, a hellborn. Alastor may be Lucifer's son, but he was born on Earth to a human mother. He has a human soul and came to Hell as a sinner. An extremely powerful sinner, but a sinner nonetheless.

In other words, he's not protected under the same agreement.

But! But but but, I figure Lucifer must have been keeping an eye on the battle from somewhere, so he could know when to step in. So he saw Adam and Alastor fight, saw Alastor nearly die, and saw him barely escape with his life. In the end, Niffty doesn't need to step in to finish Adam.

"You come at me, and my family!?"

Lucifer does it himself.

They know Alastor isn't dead thanks to Husk (and possibly Niffty) but are still concerned when they can't find him in the ruins of the old hotel. Lucifer does make an attempt to look for Alastor, but he doesn't know Alastor well enough to know where to look. But his daughter is still here and still needs him, so Lucifer puts the search aside and helps Charlie rebuild her hotel.

And in the end, Alastor returns. Alastor would shove Lucifer off when he joins in the group hug, but he doesn't want to aggravate the wound he's pretending not to have*.

I think that, whether or not she knew Alastor was her brother, Charlie would show the same amount of concern for him. Wanting to know what happened after Adam broke through his shield, why he disappeared from the battle. Just, wanting to know if he's okay. Alastor just brushes off her questions and keeps her at a distance. The biggest change is really between Lucifer and Alastor, and later between Lucifer and Charlie.

The guilt is crushing Lucifer. He knows how badly hurt Alastor was, and knows that instead of coming back to the people who would help him, he hid away somewhere to heal alone. Lucifer tries to be subtle about it, but he's constantly checking in on Alastor, asking if there's anything he needs, or anything Lucifer can do for him. He's not subtle at all.

And Alastor is not at all amused. He doesn't care that Lucifer was late to the battle! He didn't ask for or want Lucifer's help! It was his own fault for getting sloppy and letting Adam get a hit in (not to mention a disadvantageous deal but he's not saying that bit), and he doesn't need Lucifer coddling him. Unfortunately, with his cane broken and his body healing slowly, Alastor is uniquely vulnerable for the first time in a long time. But Lucifer's awkward hovering and Charlie's concern is only serving to make Alastor all the more agitated. So he sticks the needle where it hurts; Lucifer's guilt.

He accuses Lucifer of waiting until after Adam had mortally wounded Alastor specifically so his 'mistake' would be erased. Of wanting him deader than dead.

Then he coldly tells Lucifer that if he can't be bothered to show up when it matters, he shouldn't show up at all.

Later, he assures Charlie he doesn't hold any negative feelings towards her even though Lucifer came running to her rescue while he was willing to let Adam nearly eviscerate Alastor. After all, it stands to reason that Lucifer would choose his real child over a bastard. The King of Hell has made it perfectly clear he doesn't need a 'busboy.' Charlie tries to speak in Lucifer's defense, but, Alastor is pleased to note, her heart isn't in it.

Afterwards, he listens from the shadows and grins as he hears Charlie asking Lucifer why he saved her but not Alastor. Lucifer telling her the terms of the agreement he made with Heaven doesn't satisfy her. Alastor's her brother, they're both Lucifer's children! Lucifer should have stepped in, agreement be damned! The recently repaired cracks in their relationship begin to widen once again and Alastor is pleased.

(*I'm going to cackle if season 2 drops and it turns out we were all wrong and Alastor's completely fine.)
