Really appreciate the AD writer who decided that a song someone was singing in archival footage was not comprehensible without subtitles but that the lyrics were important to hear, so the narrator would have to read them aloud. And the narrator who decided, correctly, that he was going to sing them along with the footage with full enthusiasm.

The Beef Stroganoff Song! (arbitrary subtitle discourse edition)
So, you may have noticed here that the subtitles in this clip (from Symphogear GX episode 3) are fairly different from what you're used to seeing when people post this video, and the phrasing in the subtitles is fairly different from what the associated memes often say
For those who don't know, Symphogear got itself released on blu-ray by Discotek, and with that came with a new translation authored by Noelle (@ulsairi on twitter ) who is notable for being the only trans lesbian anime translator I know of off the top of my head.
Her translation appears, in my opinion, really rather polished and very good, and I strongly appreciate the way it's written and how much character it adds to the dialogue by giving everyone distinct voices and adapting things into more natural English. It's also a fair bit gayer. I haven't encountered many people who've seen these subs, but I think most fans of the series would consider these a net positive change. There are some people who are mad about these subtitles, and they can die mad.
Anyway, let's talk about the different phrasing of the beef stroganoff song. I'm mostly going to compare to Crunchyroll's subtitles for reference since that seems to be what most others go off of. Here's a link to that version.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So right off the bat we can see here that while CR's translation appears to be a lot more, for lack of a better word, functional, Noelle's translation tries to apply more dialectal force "it's beef stroganoff/Yes! It's THAT beef stroganoff!" And generally communicate through the tone how excited the girls are to get started. Additionally you'll see throughout that the latter is a fair bit more lyrical, there's a lot more punctuation and verbal tics and filler phrases written into the dialogue to express that they are singing, which makes sense since Japanese tends to omit a lot of the sorts of prepositions that Noelle threw in here,
Like, Yumi (yes I went and looked up her name on the wiki) just says "beef stroganoffu" because it's obvious from context that it is beef stroganoff, she doesn't need to spell it out, at least, not in Japanese
(We know like maybe ten hiragana and 1 kanji do not trust us on Japanese this is all just basic shit we learned from online guides)
So this probably leads to a rushed translator from Crunchyroll (they are notoriously crunched for time) who's just trying to Get It Done probably not really bothering to throw in extra additional connecting letters to express the tone of the character, only doing so when it's required to make basic grammatical sense in the target language. So they likely didn't think to make the subtitles have flourishes like this that aren't explicitly in the original Japanese. Noelle meanwhile had the time to consider things like this and take such liberties in order to attempt to convey the same tone that was arguably implied by the Japanese, even if not explicitly put forth
And that's about all the things I should not repeat I guess, TL;DR, these subtitles are more fun to read because the translator had more time to think about the best way to make them more fun while still being accurate to the spirit of the original dialogue, who'd have thought!
(In case you're wondering, the Commie subtitles say kind of the same thing here, and y'know, it doesn't seem like a wrong translation, but also I really dislike this subtitle styling, orange on pink with that font and that drop shadow is just kinda bad. I appreciate the effort but like. Come on. Please fansubbers, please think about if the font and colors you chose actually work with the image you're putting them on)
Tumblr media
Moving on!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
horizontal and middle rhyme with each other so you can almost actually sing this, actually let me take a moment to try it right now- never mind, I can't sing. Hahaha. I don't actually think it lines up that well with the melody But I thought it did! Didn't I? That's significant, that this actually reads like plausible lyrics to a silly song someone made up instead of a literal translation of a Japanese song
Anyway, here comes the first major difference!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So in the Crunchyroll subtitles, Yumi says "it doesn't have to be beef" which in English (in my estimation) sounds a tad scatterbrained, like, "oh yeah sure beef but whatever really it doesn't actually matter," while Noelle's subtitles rather say "Got no beef? Don't you worry!" Which implies something different.
"It is recommended to use beef, but you may substitute something else if you are sorely lacking in beef" as opposed to "Oh the beef doesn't actually matter, zoinks lol!" CR's translation is kind of a bit funnier in how it sorta comes from nowhere without this qualification, which probably lead to this phrase's memeticness, but Noelle's translation seems more reasonable to me so yeah again, tada, yay for sensicalness.
Now here's another interesting change:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, the flat manner in which the CR subtitles say "finish with salt" with rendezvous only being included because that's literally what they said, is sort of absent any stronger emotional implication,
Noelle's translation meanwhile going with "don't forget them, they need it" imparts personhood upon the salt and pepper. The implication being that the girls are saying, "the salt and pepper are in love, please reunite them, they must be in gay love together." Or maybe you think the salt and pepper cannot be forgotten and must be reunited because they are Only Friends.
Whether you choose to believe that this is the salt and pepper getting married, or merely subtext, or an interpretation, or salt and pepper shipping bait, this is a deeply important tonal indicator because it reminds you that these girls are ultimately playing with their food!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"And there, now you're in for a treat!" I don't think I need to explain this one.
Now, here's an interesting one!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Crunchyroll subtitles, it just says the memetic "boys don't know this." With no context, no elaboration, no clarity, no qualifiers. Boys don't know. Did the boys magically get their brains wiped? Are the boys biologically incapable? Who knows. Nothing is said but that.
Noelle's subtitles, on the other hand, qualify this statement by saying "Boys aren't taught to cook, so they may not know" (And note again how, it says "kno-ow" to emphasize, once more, that they're singing, and also this lines up with the long "ooooo" sound they make at the end of this lyric, so cool)
There is now context! Boys aren't taught to cook! Anime and Japan's culture in general still pigeonholes people into gender roles! And an anime translator just wrote you a hidden translation note about it! You might be a boy, you might know how to cook, but certain boys in another part of the world aren't traditionally taught cooking, so they may not know
They may not, but they could!
Trust a trans person to express gender facts with subtle nuances like this in anime translations.
And with that lovely bit of good translation and good writing and good localization of a thing to make it make sense to people
Mew!

This may be slightly insane to say, however, did anyone else think season 2 is kinda mid so far? Like slightly act 1 but predominantly act 2.
The most all encompassing issue being it's moving too damn fast. Shows having under 10 episodes is hella annoying generally but season 1 felt nowhere near rushed. So many elements feel thrown in that will either get no explanation, we didn't even ask about, or will have an incredibly quick conclusion in act 3.
The entirety of the Ambessa and Mel storyline feels like it both came to a crawl, while also going in the most crazy direction. With the introduction of REAL WITCHES, Mel being part witch (?), and Ambessa just generally being fucking annoying. Like her daughters been kidnapped (once again by fucking witches) and yet she's just bounced to manipulating Caitlyn instead, fighting her goofy ahh war with Zaun, and trying to develop a technology that is essentially impossible to do without the inventors, who are missing from her perspective. When she could be... Looking for her daughter that's like her #1 priority?
The new characters are dummy uncooked. There's the fish enforcer, WHO WAS NOT EVEN NAMED OR GIVEN LINES BUT WAS THROWN IN THE MAIN GROUP ANYWAY. That's like all the info on him. The shield enforcer, please refer to the fish enforcer.
Then Maddie who gets her own paragraph because I know ppl will have quite the reaction to her lol. For the very, very surface level info we have about her, she's cool. She's snatched Caitlyn when Vi wasn't looking, I would've done the same. But once again... Besides that... She doesn't serve the plot besides 1 conversation with Vi, and fucking Caitlyn (which once again, mad respectable, I feel her grind but not like how Caitlyn did-ANYWAY). They only gave her like 2 scenes in act 2 as well 😭. Maybe she'll get 3 in act 3 who knows.
You may have noticed I didn't mention Isha in with the new characters. That's because she's more related to jinx' story than her own character, which in this case is fine. She's essentially what Milo and Clagger were to Powder, but now Isha with jinx. Kinda just a catalyst for act 3 character development. Not much else to say, at least rn, and by me.
Vanders (no, I'm not calling him Warwick. The only time the show says that's his name is in the subtitles. His name is Vander.) arc is moving at the speed of sound, if he's even still alive. He's turned into The Hound of the Lanes (way cooler name fuck you) essentially to see if Singe can, destroys a prison, Jinx and Vi find him and reunite as a familyish. Makes sense so far. They take him to Viktor, who then has a montage of trying to help him, he seemingly has a break through, until the spooky military lady pulls up and Jayce "kills" Viktor and the spooky magic makes Vander a lava monster and the kid shoots him with the spooky magic gun-WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?! HALF OF THAT HAD NO DIALOGUE. No interaction with jinx, seeing the person she became. No reassurance for Vi, who feels like she's failed at everything. Just turn into a lava monster lol. The flashbacks were cool if not unnecessary since Vander and Silco's reasoning for revolution was never in question.
We're just gonna hope Jayce and Viktors story gets more development in act 3, which seems to be the main arc act 3 cared about.
So yeah, turns out I was much more passionate about the season than I thought, lol. Oh, and if there's something I didn't mention, it was either peak fiction or so miniscule it didn't feel worth mentioning.
Thank you for reading.

I love bg3 but i cant be the only one who thinks the subtites in the game...need work, right? It's mainly the floating subtitles, the type the game uses while you're out exploring, where the dialogue appears over a character's heads. Every time my party starts talking, I have to stop dead in my tracks because otherwise they will wander off screen and I won't be able to understand them. This is especially frustrating when dialogue starts while navigating multi-level environments where some of the party members take a while to catch up.
Like don't get me wrong, I appreciate that we can add the background to the text and make it bigger so it's easier to read but that doesn't help when the character speaking decides to wander off (or just lags behind the player chatacter enough that they are no longer on screen).
Game devs, please just put them at the bottom of the screen and add the character's name to the front if you're worried about confusion. This floating subtitle method is harder to implement and is far less accessible. It's literally more work for a less accessible option.
Also, just because someone is singing doesn't mean you can stop captioning. My Tav helped alphira write that song, I want to know what she's saying.

We're All Going to The World's Fair - An Exercise in Isolation in the Digital Age
Are you alone right now? How alone do you feel reading this post? Think about where you are and how isolated you may feel from the people around you. Are you at home? In the office? On a crowded bus or subway? Regardless, you are most likely alone. Most people are alone most of the time. This film is about isolation, the internet, and how far people will go to feel less alone.
While not outstandingly complex, Jane Schoenbrun's debut feature film offers an uncomfortable yet rewarding journey through the mind of Casey, a young teenage girl who joins an online horror role-playing community of people who have taken "The World's Fair Challenge". The role-playing game consists of completing a short ritual and then vlogging the events that follow. After completing the ritual, we see Casey's descent into madness as she documents her "changes". Casey is eventually contacted by a man named JLB, a "world's fair" veteran, who introduces her to the deeper lore behind the game and encourages her to keep making more of her videos.
Casey and JLB's relationship forms the emotional core of the film. Their roleplay is initially reminiscent of the typical "final girl" and "creepy mentor", a familiar trope from any number of horror flicks. At first, their interactions feel tense and uncomfortable. JLB feels almost predatory as he garners more of a liking towards Casey. But as the film continues, genuine warmth begins to emerge JLB shows how he genuinely cares for Casey. Casey's troubled nature is something that JLB recognizes and so he's reaching out in any way that he can. Whether Casey accepts that help and whether JLB can provide that help is something you can see for yourself.
Now, while I have been singing the praises of this film, it is not without its faults. The film is admittedly slow in certain scenes even with its relatively short length (1hr 26mins). Long scenes of nothing of note happen infrequently but enough to make you really feel the length. JLB's performance can come off as pathetic and creepy. Only until the very end will you ever feel any sort of sympathy or kinship to him at all. Certain lines of dialogue are difficult to understand without subtitles. This seems to be a trade-off for realism because of the handheld camera-work in some scenes.
Overall, "We're All Going to the World's Fair" is an excellent exercise in how to accurately portray the rampant isolation in online communities. While not exceptionally groundbreaking or especially interesting, if you're willing to engage the material it feels rewarding enough to be worth a watch.
We’re All Going to the World’s Fair : ★★★½

The lyrics to Zunenshtraln, by Joseph Wulf
I recently watched the film Zone of Interest, which is extremely well made and thoroughly chilling. As the dialogue is primarily in German and I watched it in German in a German theater, I don't have much to say about it on the subject of translation except for this:
There is a small bit of music in the film. It is a real song written by a real survivor of Auschwitz, and we do not hear it sung, but rather tapped out very simply on a piano while subtitles appear on the screen.
The subtitles I saw were in German, but it was immediately clear that the syllables did not match the beats of the melody, so I assumed the composer was Polish. Some quick googling afterward told me that I was right---the composer, Joseph Wulf, was Polish, but the song is not in Polish, but Yiddish.
Finding the actual lyrics proved extremely difficult. Plenty of articles about the movie contain the fragment played in the scene, but not the full song. The recording of Wulf himself singing it is available on YouTube, and I spent some time trying to glean the lyrics from listening, but I only understand Yiddish insofar as it sounds like German.
As far as I can tell, there is only one (one!) website that has them written out, although it is possible that spelling variations are hindering the search results: https://www.antiwarsongs.org/canzone.php/commentocat.php?id=67793&cat=14&lang=en
So, in the interest of preserving it, here are the lyrics:
Zunenshtraln laykhtn, varmen, Mentshn-gufim kind un alt, Un mir do ayngeshlosn Undzer harts iz dokh nisht kalt.
Anyone familiar with German will recognize a great deal of the words if they read them aloud, but not all of Yiddish is related to German. The word guffim, for example, means Körper (bodies), and neshomes are Seelen (souls).
Antiwarsongs.org contains a German translation (as well as translations into Italian, English, French), but for anyone who's interested, here is a sort of halfway translation using as many German cognates as possible:

Fun Ways to Practice Speaking Bengali on Your Own
Learning Bengali can feel like trying to navigate the bustling streets of Kolkata – exciting, overwhelming, and full of delicious surprises! But what if you want to hone your speaking skills without venturing out just yet? Fear not, fellow language learner, because this blog is your ticket to a one-way trip to Bangla fluency (well, almost)!
1. Talk to the Mirror, Mirror on the Wall
Who needs a conversation partner when you've got yourself? Talk to your reflection! Introduce yourself, describe your day, or even plan your next Bengali adventure. The key is to speak out loud and don't be afraid to sound silly. The mirror won't judge (probably).
2. Shower Shonar Bangla (Golden Bengal in the Shower)
Can't find a quiet corner? Take your Bengali practice to the shower! Run through greetings, practice ordering your favorite Bengali dishes (Doi Machh anyone?), or sing along to Bengali rain songs. The acoustics might be interesting, but your pronunciation will be golden!
3. Be a Shadow Puppeteer, Bangla Style
Narrate your day in Bengali as it unfolds. Describe what you're doing, what you see, and how you feel. Bonus points for incorporating Bengali words for everyday objects – that mug in your hand becomes a "chhan" (cup) and your comfy PJs turn into a "lungi" (a traditional Bengali garment).
4. Cook Up a Conversation
Whip up a Bengali feast and narrate the recipe step-by-step in Bengali. Explain why you're adding "roshun" (garlic) and reminisce about your Bengali grandma's secret ingredient.
5. Binge-Watch, Bengali-fy!
Turn your Netflix obsession into a Bengali learning spree! Watch Bengali movies or TV shows with subtitles, then rewind and repeat key dialogues aloud. This is a fantastic way to pick up natural-sounding phrases and improve your listening comprehension.
6. Sing Your Bengali Heart Out!
Belting out Bengali tunes in the shower wasn't enough? Find Bengali music you love and sing along at the top of your lungs! Pay attention to the pronunciation and the rhythm – you might even surprise yourself with your newfound fluency.
7. Record Yourself and Become Your Own Guru
Record yourself speaking Bengali on your phone. Play it back and identify areas for improvement. Did you stumble over a particular word? Look it up and practice again. This self-assessment approach is a powerful tool for targeted learning.
8. The Power of Positive Self-Talk (in Bengali!)
Start incorporating Bengali into your internal monologue. Think about your to-do list, your plans for the evening, or even your deepest thoughts – all in Bengali! This subconscious immersion will solidify your grasp on the language.
Remember, language learning is a journey, not a destination. Embrace the fun, celebrate your mistakes, and keep practicing. Before you know it, you'll be holding full conversations and charming everyone with your Bangla!

Learn English Fast and Effectively, 5 Brilliant Tips to achieve your goals Do you want to learn English fast and easy? With just a few simple strategies, you can acquire the knowledge of English quickly and efficiently. This guide provides 10 practical tips to help you master the language faster than ever! Set Goals and Monitor Your Progress. Setting goals and tracking your progress is a great way to stay motivated while learning English. Make sure that they are achievable and relevant to you. For example, a good goal could be to learn ten new words every day or read an article in English once a week. Create weekly or monthly milestones so you can easily measure your progress and stay on track throughout the learning process. Tracking your progress can also help identify strengths and weaknesses. For example, if you’re having difficulty remembering certain words or phrases, try writing them down in a notebook or using an online task tracking tool like Trello to keep track of all the things you learn. Setting goals and measuring progress will make it easier to stay on top of your language learning, helping you achieve success faster than ever before. Watch Movies with Subtitles in English. Watching movies with subtitles in English is a great way to become familiar with conversational language and improve your comprehension. This activity allows you to quickly learn and understand common phrases, words, sentences, collocations and other things related to the language. It’s also an exciting way to boost your motivation as you can pick films that you know or like. To begin, start with movies that you know so it's easier for you to understand. Then, as your English language skills progress, choose movies that are unfamiliar and more challenging — the more you push yourself to comprehend what's being said in English, the better. Additionally, when reading subtitles in English try not to get overwhelmed: utilize your cognitive resources and limit distractions while watching. If a particular dialogue is difficult to follow, pause the movie and practice repeating the section of conversation out loud as an additional way to internalize what was said. Through the process, you will begin to recognize conversational phrases and expressions used in songs, which can help you to connect words and ideas more easily. Furthermore, when singing, your brain is getting accustomed with English pronunciation, intonation and rhythm; as a result, you will soon realize better memorization retention of what you have learned! Moreover, when you become more familiar with a song, the music will easily get stuck in your head. This means that by just listening to the music outside class, you can actually practice pronunciation and intonation without trying too hard. And as a bonus, singing along to English songs will also make you feel confident and enthusiastic about learning English in a fun way! Study Everyday Vocabulary Words Regularly and Systematically. Mastering English requires students to have a solid foundation of essential vocabulary words. To improve your English quickly, it’s essential that you choose and learn 10-15 new words every day. As you do so, try to utilize various learning methods such as flashcards and online vocabulary learning websites. I've decided to look into this further, yet again, this time with the nordic languages. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a dub for those unless I've missed something, so this is based off of the subtitles. I've left out dialogue that didn't really change in meaning in my opinion (like the conversation between Vizimir and Radovid in episode 8). Either way, more very late-night ramblings below the cut!
Episode 1: the first meeting and the carriage scene
What stood out to me was that in the Swedish version, Jaskier addresses Radovid formally in those two scenes in episode 1 but switches to the informal way of addressing Radovid in episode 2. I'm not sure if it's because Philippa wasn't around then, but it's possible.
Both Danish and Norwegian start out with the less formal version, but on "but you make quite the case for Redania" it sounds like Jaskier is directing this sentence at both Philippa and Radovid when he is clearly looking at Radovid.
Episode 2:
There's a number of things here, whew. Although I was quite surprised how little the lyrics differed. Either way
English (Jaskier): I don't do pretty
Danish (Jaskier): My songs aren't pretty
English (Jaskier, during Extraordinary Things): with you, I have enough
Danish (Jaskier, during Extraordinary Things): in you, I've found enough
This next one I feel is worth mentioning because similarly to the double meaning of the English phrase, the Norwegian verb used can also mean "to put on a show" (German-speaking folks might recognise it as similar to "sich aufführen" versus "etwas aufführen"), so it could be read as "put on a show/performance" or "make a show of yourself"
English (Jaskier, during Extraordinary Things): they say "keep on playing nice"
Norwegian (Jaskier, during Extraordinary Things): they say "behave (yourself)"
Episode 4:
English (Radovid): the only good part of this mess was meeting you
Swedish (Radovid): the only good (thing) was meeting you
Danish & Norwegian (Radovid): the only good in this was meeting you
The only good thing, Swedish!Radovid? The only good thing ever? 🥲
English (Jaskier): maybe that's something we can work on
Norwegian (Jaskier): we can work with/on that
Episode 6:
While we know that in the original, Radovid doesn't make it very clear to Jaskier how dangerous Dijkstra has proven himself to be towards him, it's even more vague in Swedish. As in... it sounds like Dijkstra is more of a mild inconvience rather than somebody who has issued a death threat to Radovid's face
English (Radovid): I'd be out from under Dijkstra's thumb
Swedish (Radovid): Dijkstra would leave me be/leave me alone
Danish (Radovid): I could free myself from Dijkstra
Norwegian (Radovid): I'd get away from Dijkstra
And then there's another small difference that makes my angst-loving heart sing because it gives Radovid's disbelief over Jaskier's accusation a slightly different flavour and peppers in some more doubt, the way I see it at least
English (Radovid): how can you think my feelings for you are a lie?
Danish (Radovid): why do you think/believe my feelings for you are a lie?
Norwegian (Radovid): do you think/believe my feelings for you are a lie?
Episode 7:
There's not many differences here aside from this change:
English (Radovid): I'll bring all I can. Just tell me where to meet you--
Danish (Radovid): I can help. Let me--
and this:
English (Radovid): just let me be there with you
Danish (Radovid): let me help you
Oh but what's that? By the gods, it's the Swedish translation with a steel chair (/ref)!
Swedish (Radovid): let me be by your side
This is fine. This is great. In fact, I am perfectly fine with this line 🥲
Radskier dialogue nuances in different languages
So I have been rewatching The Witcher in French recently and some of the changed lines stuck out to me, in the interactions between Radovid and Jaskier in particular. So i figured I'd compile my favourites from the translated versions I've seen so far here and compare their meaning to the original. I've also included some of the German lines since I'm German and I got curious!
Disclaimer: I'm just a guy who speaks a bunch of languages, don't expect overly technical linguistic wizardry here. Also this is not about the voice actors' skill or how well the lines are matched up to lip movements, strictly about the little changes in meaning when you take the translations literally! All meant to be in good fun.
Since this is about the season 3 dialogue, there are spoilers ahead.
This is going to be a long post so buckle up!
Season 3 in general: The way Jaskier and Radovid address one another
English (original): both use "you" which makes sense of course
French: Jaskier uses "vous" (the formal "you") for Radovid and Radovid uses "tu" (the casual "you") for Jaskier until they have sex in episode 4. When they talk the morning after in episode 6, they're both using "tu".
German: both use "Ihr" and the other formal derivatives for one another throughout (Even Geralt and Jaskier address each other formally the whole time. I'm not a fan)
Episode 1: Jaskier and Radovid meet
The dialogue here is generally very close, just two little things between the original and the German version I want to point out.
English (Jaskier): Fuck, I don’t really know what I’m supposed to… Bow? Or curtsy, or… I’ve been holding your hand a long time, so sorry about that.
German (Jaskier): Shit, I don't know if I'm supposed to bow or be polite... I've been holding your hand for too long, forgive me ("bow or be polite"?? HUH?)
English (Radovid): If your time at court’s been staid, you’ve been doing it wrong
German (Radovid): If your time at court has been too calm/quiet, something went wrong ([gay silence])
Episode 2: specifically Extraordinary Things
I've put the different lyrics as rather direct translations in the pictures below. They're also written out in the alt text. The French ones are a little more pointed compared to the original imo, I like that version a lot. I'm not sure how I feel about the German version but the first line did make me giggle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Episode 3: Jaskier talks to Vespula about Radovid
I love this scene for many reasons. I have two things to point out about this.
The first thing is that while in the English and French version, Jaskier says that he and Radovid have only met twice, in the German version he says that he and Radovid don't even know each other.
The second thing is that in the English and German version, Jaskier calls Radovid a spoon and he does in the French version as well. However, he specifies Radovid is a "little spoon" here. Need I say more?
Episode 4: the scene in the shed
Ah, the scene of all time. Before the other scene of all time in episode 6. A few things about this one. The first thing is a very small change in the French version:
English (Jaskier, after Radovid admits he's scared): Just saying that makes you braver than you know.
French (Jaskier, after Radovid admits he's scared): The fact you're admitting that proves you are brave
The second thing bothered me more because it isn't really a subtle change. Both in English and French, Jaskier says Radovid has "learned [his] song", but in German he says Radovid "knows [his] song". The German line here isn't saying that Radovid "knows" the song as in he knows how to play it (from hearing and watching Jaskier play it for him once, mind you), the way it's said makes it sound like Radovid has just heard the song before.
The third thing is what they're saying right after the kiss. Unfortunately with the slightly changed lines for Jaskier we don't get the clever connection between Jaskier talking about taking Radovid into the cabin and Radovid asking Jaskier to take him (sexually).
English (Jaskier): I can't take you inside, I'm sorry.
English (Radovid): Then take me here.
French (Jaskier): The cabin is occupied, I'm sorry.
French (Radovid): Then take me here.
German (Jaskier): We can't go inside, I'm sorry.
German (Radovid): Then take me here.
Episode 6: the morning after
The German version is the same as the original here.
English (Jaskier to Radovid): I thought I’d seen through your mask. Turns out there was nothing behind it.
French (Jaskier to Radovid): I thought I had lifted the veil from your soul. But I found nothing but darkness beneath that façade
The subtle differences in the French version on the other hand not only make the pain a little different, it also includes an allusion of sorts to that version of Extraordinary Things with Jaskier talking about Radovid's soul. At least that's how I saw it. Ouch!
Episode 7: the moment where Jaskier finds Radovid at Thanedd
All three versions here make me want to cry. That's all.
English (Radovid): Just let me be there with you. Prove that I’m more than a mask.
English (Jaskier): Maybe.
French (Radovid): Just let me stay with you and show you what is beneath this façade.
French (Jaskier): Why not.
German (Radovid): Just let me be with you and show my true self.
German (Jaskier): Maybe.

Willy’s Wonderland
It has a gritty almost grind house feel, like I sort of expect leather face to come out of nowhere
Nic cage looks like if ghost rider were rated r
Almost 10 mins in and Nic Cage hasn’t said a word
And this tow truck driver is ripping him off, even though I know nothing about cars I know that
Wasn’t this supposed to be the fnaf movie? Or was that smth else?
15mins no lines from Cage. Is he mute in this?
He’s actually cleaning the place, good on him for that.
And they’re moving.
He’s doing the dishes!
He made a break alarm, lord knows why I think that’s cute.
And I appreciate the dad bod, ngl
20 mins, no lines, and he just beat an ostrich animatronic to death with a mop
He just changed cause he got dust on his uniform
Duct tape is not a good bandaid.
He’s had at least three energy drinks in the span of a few hours, what’s his resting heart rate?
Cleaning montage of the mens room, like it’s on tiktok
It’s your birthday written in blood on the mirror, this man does not flinch
30mins no lines
HE GAVE THIS GORILLA A CALIFORNIA SMILE ON A URINAL
Now he’s Gotta clean the bathroom again
Changed his shirt too
Forth energy drink and he’s filing his nails and playing pinball
And we’re back to the arson subplot
None of these kids thought to bring bolt cutters, I mean they planned to do it earlier, but if she saw a guy “get a job” a pit stop might have been nice
It says Siren Sarah, but she’s a fairy, neither things are all that safe
Not a word from Cage yet 40mins
These kids are freaking out and Cage doesn’t give a fuck
And two have wondered off to bone :\
She’s giving this whole fucking exposition dialogue and he’s just doing some cable/tube management
The two who went off to have the obligatory slasher sex went to the old murder room
I have to read the subtitles with the sound off or I’d be choking on my own spit it’s so ridiculous
Yeah this was supposed to be the fnaf movie, got the weird smell part of the lore
And the owner and he crew did a satanic ritual suicide to live in the suits forever
Y’all made a pentacle out of tape and still couldn’t make straight lines?
Ok not tape, invisible paint, but still, it’s rickety as shit
The animatronics would move on their own, I mean that’s what they’re supposed to do.
Wow dude, like there’s roasting your friends, and there’s that
“Oh, you a freak freak.”
And now they’re boning in the murder suicide room
They’re just watching this animatronic sing a murder chicken song
And a kid has been stabbed
Boy should be dead
Now he is
They’re fucking in the ball pit
Cage is just playing pinball in the kitchen
She just hung up on this kid
Pretty sure the saying is protect and serve” sheriff.
I don’t have epilepsy, but there’re some nasty flashing lights
Break’s over!
50 mins no lines
THEY STILL FUCKIN!
They got eaten by the gator
She’s just watching Cage beat this thing to death.
At least she apologized for dragging her friends to the murder funhouse
Idk if this animatronic is lying or not
I think it is
More exposition!
Okay so her real parents were murdered, which is why she wants to burn it down so bad
It was lying!
Break time!
Girl held her own, with a switchblade!
Breaks over
Cops are here!
Oh, that’s a bit unexpected.
Hour in, no lines from Cage
She’s bargaining with the Ferret
“Head shoulders knees and toes~”
AN ANIMATRONIC WAS ON THE CAR FOR THIS WHOLE RIDE!
AND IT PICKPOCKETED THE SHELLS RIGHT OUT OF THE SHOTGUN! (IN SPANISH!)
Nic Cage killed the fairy with his thighs!
She beat up the animatronic but didn’t shoot it to make sure, the greatest slasher faux pass
HES CLEANING AGAIN!
Even got the kids’ bodies and covered them up.
How old is Nic Cage now?
He’s vibin’
Still no lines, and he’s 57, younger then I thought
I’m gonna say the ferret cheated for a bit
GET HIS ASS!
The fairy ain’t dead
Free Bird’s playing on the Juke
He drives off with the girl (who’s parents were killed) and the camera choices and music cues make it sorta creepy, but Nic Cage has such Dad vibes it negated those choices
HE RAN OVER THE ANIMATRONIC SHE LEFT ALIVE!
Not a word the whole film
He’s credited as “The Janitor” but it would have been dope to credit him as Nic Cage, but then again. He’s doing that for The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.
I know sm one’s gonna roast me for finding Nic Cage attractive, but do you really have any high ground? Here? In this cesspool of questionable taste?
4/5 entertaining and I didn’t have to think, good movie to turn your brain off to

Boost Your Spoken English  In Bangalore With These Tips
In Bangalore, are you looking for spoken English courses? Private lessons and language schools are only a few of the alternatives. Your needs and preferences will decide.
Tumblr media
These days, spoken English classes are necessary because of competitive exams. A person who wants to improve their communication skills—which may use some extra aid from everyone—needs spoken English classes in Bangalore. Many spoken English lessons in Bangalore, India, help its students prepare for any situation, including a competitive exam or a job interview, by using a very professional teaching methodology.
English is one of the most widely spoken languages in India and is also one of the languages that is used for international communication the most. In today's society, being able to speak English fluently is crucial. Most businesses and multinational corporations consider a candidate's English competence when hiring new personnel.
Here are some pointers for increasing your fluency when speaking English
Start thinking in the language
As the day goes on, start expressing what you see, hear, or wish to say in English. Start off with short, simple sentences if you want. Continue to get ready for the dialogues. You'll become more assured and effective when you speak. It's a fantastic method for learning a language.
Follow the chain listen, read, speak and write
Try to make it a habit to use the language in your daily life while you listen, read, speak, and write. Apply it at work or out with friends, and you'll notice a considerable change. The first four make excellent pairings with one another.
Learn phrases
Learn some useful and simple words to use in your English discussions. Pick words and phrases that are suitable for sentences and are frequently used. Your interactions will undoubtedly become more interesting and polished as a result of this practice.
the mirrors and phone activity
Consider your mirror to be your best friend, and just chat to it about anything as it is the one buddy who will listen to you uninterrupted. Furthermore, you simply pick up your phone and begin pretending to have conversations, just like kids do. Since one cannot see the other person's reaction or body language, which is very important during a conversation, many people also find phone interactions challenging.
Watch English movies and songs with subtitles
Pick a few shows that interest you, and just pay attention to the subtitles a little. This is crucial to understanding how to construct sentences. It may also be beneficial to sing along with the lyrics. This is a fantastic practice exercise to hone your abilities.
 Reflect over the conversation
Pick a few shows that interest you, and just pay attention to the subtitles a little. This is crucial to understanding how to construct sentences. It may also be beneficial to sing along with the lyrics. This is a fantastic practice exercise to hone your abilities.
I recommend speakeng India since it is one of the best spoken English classes in Bangalore, according to my study. The main goal of these spoken English classes in Bangalore is to enable students to master the language's four most essential skills: speaking, reading, listening, and writing. They know how difficult it is for people to converse in English, thus they specifically designed Bangalore Spoken English Classes to improve language learning.

Deleted lines of dialogue in Frozen 2
We know that F2’s plot suffered from last minute changes and even leaks that we got before the release contradict the final material, but that’s another can of worms for another post. What I wanna talk about in this post is something I happened to notice a few days ago while watching the Frozen 2 Outtakes video available with the Blu-ray version of the movie. Here’s a link to it. My apologies if there’s a post out there already talking about this, but I haven’t seen one so I thought I might as well give it a go.
Basically, the video is a recollection of funny moments that arose when the voice actors were recording their lines. But… I don’t know if this was deliberate or an oversight on Disney’s part, or if they didn’t care too much about it at the end of the day and released it anyways. The thing is, we can see the original dialogue they were supposed to record as tiny subtitles, and good god, there are tons of deleted lines, including an earlier version of Some Things Never Change, and some point to the existence of completely different scenes from the ones we got. Here’s what I mean:
Tumblr media
I don’t recall ever coming across deleted lines for Frozen 1 apart from the famous “That’s no blizzard, that’s my sister”, so this is pretty interesting.
But in addition to that, while digging through some old files I found recorded lines of a Frozen 2 book that came out before release (Specifically on October 4th, 2019, when the Frozen Fan Fest was being held with the first released merch). That’s a long, long time ago and I don’t remember the name of the book, sadly, but you can listen to the recording I made right here. If someone does remember the name of the book that’d be really cool. I think the original recording was provided by Snow on the Arendelle Kingdom Discord server, so credits to her.
UPDATE: The book was found along with other interesting pieces of info! It’s called Frozen 2 Read-Along Storybook and CD. Credits to @lovewillthaw-j and their amazing detective work! Here it is.
What’s particularly interesting about this one is that no merch released on October 4 had the ending of the movie. Every book was cut off at the moment Anna received Elsa’s message in the cave, with no mention of Show Yourself or Elsa’s death for that matter. Now, we don’t know if they were trying not to spoil the movie, or if they legitimately didn’t have a final ending at the time the books were made. Knowing how… messy Frozen 2’s development was, I think we can all sort of agree it was the latter.
Because of this, there is some really intriguing stuff. Nods to scenes that aren’t in the final movie, shameless hints to Elsa’s permanent death, events happening in a different order… I don’t know if these lines were recorded only for the book, but I doubt they were, because many of those lines are actually in the movie or are referenced in books and some have really slight modifications like changes in tone of voice. I guess we’ll never Find The Truth™, but we can analyze these lines too because they can give us an idea of what earlier versions of the movie were like.
So let’s look at them one by one. Looooong post ahead.
Tumblr media
Frozen 2 Outtakes Video
“Should have left it to me. Love you too. You blew it Kristoff. Oh. I’m alone. It’s fine.” – Kristoff/Sven
This one definitely happens during Kristoff’s first proposal attempt. Before this line, Anna says, “She couldn’t act out ice?” and we can assume Kristoff absent mindedly responds with “Should have left it to me”. That makes sense, considering he delivers ice for a living and ice is his life. Then we got “Love you too”, which Kristoff says in the final movie, but then we got Sven dialogue as he tells him “You blew it, Kristoff.” “Oh, I’m alone,” is what would go before he finally says, “It’s fine.” The reason the dialogue is all mixed up is because Johnathan Groff is the one recording the lines and he does both Kristoff and Sven’s voices (well, technically, Kristoff).
_______
“Hey. What the—What is this? Hang onto me. What’s happening? Run. The mist is rising. We are being pushed by the…” – Kristoff
We can tell this happens when the Arendellian gang was crossing the mist wall for the first time. The scene was evidently going to be longer and more chaotic than what we actually got. Apparently they run and that would’ve been pretty cool.
_______
“The winds are restless. Like how I sometimes feel in the fall. But I’m not ready. I love these days, I’m grateful for them all.” – Elsa (Alternate Some Things Never Change)
Now this is what I call a quality deleted line. I recommend you guys watch the video to hear the little part that Idina sings to have an idea what Elsa’s part in Some Things Never Change was originally going to be like. Definitely a bit sadder than what we got. I think this line gives the idea that Elsa wasn’t feeling too comfy in Arendelle even though she enjoyed the company of her family immensely, or if we go with the idea that fall represents change, Elsa is feeling restless in the face of change. She’s not ready to ‘change’ and wants to keep enjoying her days in Arendelle. She can’t let them go. How ironic. Interpret it as you want!
_______
“I’d freeze this moment if I could find a way…” – Elsa (Alternate Some Things Never Change)
Same scene. Sadder atmosphere for her part of the song. It’s a shame we don’t know what goes next.
_______
“Water drowns with a stallion’s might.” – Elsa
Wowowowowow. Now this is interesting, because I have no idea where to place this line of dialogue meaning there might’ve been another scene foreshadowing the Nokk. In the final movie, the only moment we see the Nokk is during When I Am Older and it was very brief and played for laughs. But this line gives the idea that the existence of an angry murderous water horse was going to be mentioned earlier on. Now I have a lot of ideas as to what she might’ve referred to (maybe that’s just a comparison she made on the fly and didn’t know the water spirit was a horse? Maybe it’s like a riddle she solved to know what the water spirit was?) but to be honest I think there’s no way to know. Fun to theorize, though.
Also, total confirmation the Nokk is a male!
_______
“It’s magic. It’s amazing. There’s a voice. I need to follow it.” – Elsa
This line probably happened when they visited Pabbie and evacuated Arendelle. A different take on how she explained to Anna why she wanted to go on the journey. Honestly, I prefer what we actually got. She sounds quite desperate and hypnotized in this one. VOICE. I HEAR. MUST FOLLOW. I don’t know what you guys think. The actual explanation in the final movie is not great either but I prefer it.
_______
“Hey Elsa. It’s your mom. Remember, mothers are always right. Now, be who you are!” – Olaf (Longer Post Credits Scene)
We were robbed. This line and another one points to a longer post credits scene. I suspect they weren’t able to include it because of time constraints, because c’mon, this is hilarious. An animator on Instagram said that they were not able to model the inside of Elsa’s ice palace for the post credits scene because they ran out of time, so they used Ahtohallan pillars and changed the lighting so that it gave the ‘feel’ of the ice palace. I’m sorry I can’t provide a link right now because I don’t remember who the animator was, but if I find it again or someone else does I’ll update this.
UPDATE: The Instagram comment in particular was found! Thanks to @super-mam-te-moc for the screenshot.
Tumblr media
Okay, kind of got derailed there. They didn’t have enough time to finish the post credits scene and that’s the only coherent answer I can find as to why this was deleted.
_______
“They’re all looking at us, aren’t they? Okay, got any advice? How do I free the forest?” – Elsa
Very similar to what’s in the movie but here Elsa asks Bruni if he knows how she can free the forest. The fact that Elsa asks a little cute salamander this… kind of gives the idea that Elsa was completely clueless, same as the rest of the gang, and the rest of the writers. Jkjk!
_______
“Emotional and slightly haunting memory of Mother? Is that you?” – Olaf (Longer Post Credits Scene)
Same as above. We were robbed. Twice.

Unused Recorded Lines from Frozen 2 Book
“Teeth? Oh. Pillow fort! Disturbed! Aw, c’mon, you definitely look disturbed!” – Anna
Shorter or summarized charades scene. Anna never mentions a pillow fort in the final movie.
_______
“I know that rumble.” – Kristoff
This probably goes when Pabbie and the trolls appeared at the evacuation place. Seems like in an earlier version, there was more buildup before the appearance of the trolls. Kristoff hears the rumble of the rocks before anything else. Deleted scenes seen in trailers also point to a slightly different ‘troll appearance’ scene.
_______
“I won’t leave her side.” – Anna
During Pabbie’s visit. We know thanks to trailers Anna’s little talk with Pabbie changed a bit. Here Anna displays her worry for Elsa even more.
Here’s a comparison between the trailer:
Tumblr media
And the final movie:
Tumblr media
What’s particularly interesting about this is that a later point in the movie, during Kristoff’s third failed proposal, Anna suddenly remembers Elsa and runs off hurriedly saying, “I swore I wouldn’t leave her side”. Coincidence? I THINK NOT. She never explicitly says so in the final movie, but it seems like she did in an earlier version.
_______
“We’ll fix it together. / Together. / Together.” – Anna, Kristoff and Olaf respectively
Probably as they were going to go on the journey, considering the lines are said chronologically? They discovered the power of teamwork. Weird Elsa doesn’t say ‘together’. Maybe they left it out because, coughcoughtheydidn’tfixanythingtogether.
_______
“Uhm, I sense no way in, but this is fun nonetheless.” – Olaf
Definitely during the arrival at the mist wall. Olaf doesn’t say anything as he bounces off in the final movie.
_______
“Hah! It let us in, but it clearly does not wanna let us out.” – Olaf
Same as above. Anna is the one who says they’re trapped in the final version.
_______
“Your father was… / King Agnarr of Arendelle.” – Mattias, Elsa, respectively
In the final version Mattias immediately says “Agnarr”, while here Elsa finishes his words after his pause. To be honest, it makes more sense in the final version, considering Mattias would remember Agnarr’s name without a doubt.
_______
“I’m fine. I just… actually, I’m starving.” – Anna
This probably goes right after the “Don’t Run Into Fire” argument. I didn’t think much of this line at first but it’s actually really interesting, because in the final movie, right after Elsa and Anna’s argument, Elsa places Iduna’s scarf on Anna’s shoulders and with this perfect timing they find out she was Northuldra, leading to the whole “Vuelie” scene. But here, there’s no comforting with scarf, and it seems like this scene leads to the one after Vuelie in the final movie, with Anna eating as she talks to Mattias, and Elsa and Honeymaren talking about the spirits.
Which means… that in an earlier version, the discovery of Iduna being Northuldra was probably going to happen later on. Pretty crazy, right?
_______
“If I lost her… I think I’d lose myself.” – Anna
All right. I think that this line is one of the most important ones. Thanks to books having this line in them we can pinpoint exactly when Anna utters it: expectedly, when she was talking with Mattias. The delivery of this line is also particularly heartbreaking, so I recommend you guys hear the audio file.
I don’t wanna ramble too much but there’s a lot to be said about this line. But yes, I’ll actually end up rambling. Warning.
Along with “I won’t leave her side”, it seems like earlier versions of the movie showed Anna being even more anxious and worried about Elsa’s wellbeing. As we know, Anna and Mattias were talking about ‘doing the next right thing’, and being prepared when life throws you down a new path. This is obvious foreshadowing to The Next Right Thing. But why were these two cut? Don’t they deepen Anna’s character and show just how deathly scared this whole adventure had her?
Well, here’s some speculation. These two lines are obviously foreshadowing Elsa’s death. The thing is, there exists the likelihood that at the times these lines were written and recorded, there was no such thing as Elsa’s revival. We’ve known for a long time that Elsa was going to die for real in Frozen 2, but test audiences were left traumatized and probably in need of PTSD treatment, hating it so much that the ending and everything that came with it was rewritten around June. Including, I speculate, these two lines which blatantly foreshadow Elsa’s big oof.
There’s not much foreshadowing to Elsa’s death in the final version. That’s because it was a minor thing. She died before the climax of the movie and her death scene didn’t feel final nor dramatic enough to fool the audience and make them believe she was really, really, won’t-breathe-ever-again kind of dead. Some watchers didn’t even realize she died, because the scene was not supposed to feel like her end. Not even the score, Ghosts of Arendelle Past, has a final feeling to it. It just kind of ends there in an ominous tone and they stress the fact that she sent an important ice message before freezing, giving hope of events resolving themselves.
But these two lines do foreshadow of a terrifying event. One that’s not minor nor temporary. These two lines, probably among others we’ll never find out about, and Anna’s worried sick attitude in earlier versions, give more weight to Elsa’s death, Elsa’s permanent death, and ultimately, The Next Right Thing.
Or maybe not and I’m wrong and there was no need for a 4 paragraph long overanalysis of two lines. Maybe they just deleted them just cause. Who knows the ways of writers…
_______
“All this time… the four spirits. Right there.” – Elsa
Maybe this goes during Honeymaren’s talk about the spirits? Right there, meaning, they were all along depicted in Iduna’s scarf and nobody in Arendelle realized? We’ll never know.
_______
“You mean like a voice?” – Elsa
Probably happened when Honeymaren was talking about the fifth spirit crying out the day the forest fell.
_______
“She made it across the sea.” – Anna
“I know why the spirits evacuated Arendelle.” – Anna
“Olaf, I know how to free the forest.” – Anna
Okay, I’m gonna talk about these three at the same time because it’s the same scene. Obviously, these lines of dialogue take place in the cave as Anna receives Elsa’s message, right before The Next Right Thing. We know that for sure because The Next Right Thing was one of the first Frozen 2 songs to be written and the writers knew that’s where they wanted the story to go. This seems like a pretty different setup, but to be honest, it feels like a placeholder. Anna doesn’t even react to the fact that there was a statue of grandpa slicing an innocent man in two right in front of her which just feels weird.
And all in all, the lines just don’t have the sadness of the final version. Anna doesn’t sound nearly as disappointed and her voice doesn’t lower that much. She sort of sounds determined in the last line! So determined to wreck her home to pieces with a gigantic flood… ahaha Anna…
______________________________
Okay, it was pretty fun to overanalyze all 23 deleted lines that I managed to find. There are even more deleted goodies out there thanks to the merch, but we’re gonna leave that for another moment.
There’s no doubt that Frozen 2′s development had plenty of problems along the way and I think it’s pretty interesting to learn what it could’ve been and could’ve had. These lines are just the tip of the iceberg and I’m more than interested to know what exactly the test audiences saw in those infamous test screenings...

Okay, let's talk details. At the beginning, nearly everyone gets hurt and then gets separated.
***As always, spoilers abound below for episode 11x03: Hunted. Don’t read until you’ve watched!***
I noticed that in the opening credits, we now see the two rows of hanging bodies to represent the Reapers.
Tumblr media
Maggie:
Elijah tries to help Maggie but is yanked backward and disappears. We don’t see him the rest of the episode. I really hope he’s okay. ☹
Tumblr media
When Maggie is walking around alone, we see a car with an open door that's emphasized. It reminds me very much of this shot from 5x09.
Tumblr media
@wdway also noticed some chevron symbols in the parking lot. (Chevron Theory)
She passes the dumpster before she actually gets into the mall building. That might be called back to Glenn. She also uses glass alcohol bottles as a warning system. I'm sure I don't have to explain the parallels there.
Tumblr media
There's definitely a rat thing going on here, which is important because of 10x21, but I can tell you that we see (hear) it in episode 11x04 as well. I just noticed the subtitles tell us that there are rats squeaking quite a lot. After finding Negan and Alden, Negan pushes for Alden to be left behind. He doesn’t like being on the road. He says the plan is bad and unsafe.
Then they hear screaming and run toward Agatha. Duncan is hurt and clearly not going to make it. He says, "We were good. We were lucky." Both Beth lines. Maggie puts him down after promising to get Agatha home.
Tumblr media
Now, that’s interesting to me. I said yesterday that we’re seeing a replay of Beth through many of these story lines, and I focused on Alden as a proxy. But I think Agatha is one, too. Just the fact that they talk about getting her “home,” makes her a proxy. Meanwhile, she doesn’t make it “home.” She’s bitten by a walker and left behind…in a mob of walkers. This is also where Negan drags Maggie away while she screams, “no!” Maybe indicative of her emotional response (not to mention her screaming in the parking lot of Grady) over losing Beth?
Tumblr media
Jumping back a bit, before Agatha’s death, Maggie’s group travels through the woods. Negan and Maggie have an interesting exchange. Negan says of himself, "people change." Maggie says that no they don't.
So once again, it's called back to Beth dialogue, but Maggie is specifically harboring a belief that was the opposite of Beth's. That people don't and can't change. It's obvious that Maggie is on a very destructive path right now. She doesn’t really have faith in people, or faith that everything will work out okay. We can't be sure where this is going, but it's interesting. As I've said before, I'm sure this attitude of hers will probably end up causing drama down the road.
Tumblr media
They happen upon a burnt walker that's tied to a tree with the sign that says Judas over his head. This super interesting. I know I have a lot of asks about this in my inbox. My first reaction is that we can tie it to the burnt walkers from 6x06, which was bursting with Beth symbolism. Since it’s obviously the CRM who was responsible for those burnt walkers, you have to wonder if there's a CRM tie here.
We might also be able to tie this to the Governor’s episodes in 4a, where he found several decapitated corpses wearing military attire that also had signs near them like ‘murderer’ and ‘rapist.’ If nothing else, this shows that someone in the area is actually burning people for betrayal and labeling them as Judas. Doesn't exactly bode well for our group. But we don't know whether this was the Reapers or somebody else.
***Update: I wrote most of this post before seeing episode 11x04. I still think we can tie this burnt walker thematically to 6x06 and the CRM, but in terms of what is literally happening in this season, let’s just say this burnt walker will make a lot more sense after watching 11x04. I don’t want to give spoilers beyond that.***
Tumblr media
Just before Maggie's group reaches the chapel they end up leaving Alden at, they pass green car. I don't think it's a Gremlin, like the one we saw in 7x05, but it's the same shade of green.
Tumblr media
And of course, we see the cross outside the church. Beth was wearing a cross bracelet in the hallway of Grady when she was shot. There are plenty of holes in the roof of the church (Hole in the Roof Theory.) At one point, Alden even says, "I'm dead weight." That was the name of 4x07, the Governor episode where they found the decapitated corpses.
At the chapel, we caught an interesting snippet of dialogue from Negan. He tells Maggie “the sun is going down” and that she’ll have to make a decision. We’ve always thought Beth would return with a dawn theme, which might mean literally that we’ll see her with a sunrise or something. So, it made me wonder if the “night” will be them fighting the conflict with the Reapers and then will return with the new “dawn.” Something like that. It might be literal or just thematic. We’ll just have to wait and see, though.
Tumblr media
Maggie finally agrees to leave him behind, but she struggles with it mightily. They even have this really on the nose line where she says, "you better be here when I come back." And he answers, "you better come back." Think about how that would relate to Beth's arc.
Tumblr media
Carol:
We see Carol and Kelly returning to Alexandria together. They have this whole thing where Magna thinks Carol is giving Kelly falls hope and wants her stop.
Tumblr media
They also seem to be setting up something with Carol and Aaron. I'm not sure what it is. They're kind of at odds in this episode because he wants her to help with the walls and she wants to go track the horses. I thought it was interesting that Angela Kang, during the Inside Look bit, went out of her way to say that Carol and Aaron are not enemies. They're still good friends but they have different ideas about how to deal with the current crisis. I feel like they're setting up an arc with the two of them together.
Tumblr media
When Carol was out looking for the horses, she finds Rosita. Rosita is scavenging MUSHROOMS. This part was super interesting because Carol tells her not to pick a certain type of mushroom unless she accidentally wants to make baby cocoa high for about a week. This is meant to be a joke, but it fits into the hallucination theory. I've noticed several mushroom mentions throughout the seasons. It’s an ongoing theme that I think ties into things not being as they seem, or a character to misunderstands or is deceived by something.
As I told my fellow theorists, I sat and thought about this for a minute. It's a little bit odd to me that they included Rosita’s response. When Carol says the mushrooms will make them high, Rosita answers, "yeah, but only for about a week, right?" It's meant to be a funny of course, and it is, but why put in a timeframe for the hallucination?
Tumblr media
The only thing I can think of is that maybe it's a hint that the hallucinations or misconceptions people have been laboring under are about to fall away. That includes Daryl and Leah, but we can also extend it to Beth. If she lived, as we think she did, and TF think she died, then their belief in her death fits into the hallucination theory. Just thought that was interesting.
Rosita joins Carol in searching for the horses. At one point, she tells Carol about some dreams she's been having. (Kind of interesting to mention hallucinatory mushrooms and then talk about significant dreams, no?) Apparently, she's been dreaming about Abraham. She says he's trying to tell her something, something she supposed to do, something about Alexandria. But she can't actually hear what he's saying. (Hear no evil.) And just when she gets close enough to hear him in the dream, he gets shot in the head.
Tumblr media
This is interesting on so many levels. First of all, dreams. We had the episode 6x12 of FTWD, titles, In Dreams. Abraham is a man Rosita once loved, and has lost. Most obviously, Abraham didn't die of a gunshot to the head. He died when Negan killed him. So, it feels like an excuse to mention someone being shot in the head. And of course Abraham was often a proxy to Beth. I’m definitely side eyeing this.
Tumblr media
The other thing about this is that I've been noticing for a while that they have some big arc for Rosita coming up. They’ve done several sequences where she’s searching for weapons but is unable to find them for a time. She usually eventually finds them and uses them to somehow save the day or turn the tide of the conflict.
We saw this in S7, and the weapon she found was Dwight, who defected and helped them win the war. We saw it during the warehouse sequence in S8 where she and Michonne were trying to stop the singing truck from going to the Sanctuary, and Rosita ended up with the rocket launcher. It’s a pattern that’s been happening for a while. I don't know how this dream of Abraham ties into that, but I’m wondering if this arc they’ve foreshadowed for several seasons is about to start playing out.
I don’t have a whole lot more to say about Carol tracking the horses, as I went over the most important stuff yesterday. I'm assuming that in this episode, that Kelly is equating the dead horses with Connie, and that's what upsets her so much.
Tumblr media
After we see the horse run away from them, Kelly says, “fourth time’s the charm,” which means that was the third time they’d attempted it. (Rule of Threes).
When they get back to Alexandria, Carol cuts one of the horse’s throats to slaughter it for food. Aaron comes to help her, and he looks at her very compassionately.
Tumblr media
This is also where we get the shot from inside the church with the broken window. We see Kelly come out and hug Magna, but then still go with Carol. Just really interesting symbolism there about her not giving up hope of finding her sister. I can't help but wonder if Kelly will go with Carol to look for Connie and end up finding Beth. That would be super interesting.
It also reminded me of something that happened during S9. There was an episode where Kelly got lost in the woods and Daryl and Connie went to find her. They had this really weird before-the-opening-credits sequence where we saw what was clearly a Whisperer, rather than a normal walker, coming up behind Kelly and reaching out for her, as though she was about to get kidnapped or taken prisoner. But that didn’t actually happen.
Tumblr media
When Daryl and Connie find her, she's on her own in the woods and just dehydrated. There's definitely hallucination quality to that sequence, but I’ve always suspected it was a foreshadow of something in the future. Anyway, this is just conjecture and I'm just rambling, but these are some of the thoughts I had while watching the episode.
The kids:
There couple of charming scenes of all the kids playing together. We see them play a card game—Slap Jack, I think—at the kitchen table. Many people have noticed that this kitchen table looks a lot like the one in Alone that we saw in the funeral home. And no, it’s not the same. It doesn’t have a diamond on it, but the material and pattern look similar. Which is kind of interesting.
Tumblr media
Actually, to me, the design looks a little reminiscent of the All-Seeing Eye, which is often seen on paper currency. So, it could be part of that theme.
Most of these are just cute scenes and Angela Kang says that part of the reason for them is that they wanted to have Judith and Herschel interact a little bit. People have also pointed out to me that when Herschel asks if any of them have ever been on the road like he was with Maggie, Judith says no, “Not like that.” Actually, she has been, but she was just too little to remember it. But this may have been a subtle reminder of 5x12.
Tumblr media
Herschel is clearly worried about his mom and the adults who keep leaving. Judith does her best to console him. Not sure what to make of these conversations in terms of what they foreshadow. Maybe nothing. But I did enjoy watching the scenes.
Father Gabriel:
The man Gabriel kills is named Nichols. (Got that from the subtitles.) We hear him reciting the Lord's prayer as Gabe approaches. I also noticed that his shoes are not on. They are on the ground on the other side of the tree from where he’s sitting. Which might be part of the Lost Shoe/Foot symbolism.
Tumblr media
He has an arrow in his stomach (it looks like Daryl’s) and he’s bleeding from the neck. The neck wounds are interesting because Father Gabriel got one too. It's almost as if these two mirror one another.
Tumblr media
I mentioned this yesterday, but Gabriel says, "God is not here anymore." Just wanted to mention it again because it will be important to remember for next week when we get into 11x04.
Okay, I think that's all I have in terms of details. Anything I missed?

Dating Peter Parker would include...
Tumblr media
I’m sorry I’m not so active lately. I got the requests about Tony (I think there are four of them? two from accounts and two from anon)
-          Peter Parker is a dork.
-          Let’s start saying that.
-          He had always had a crush on you. The beautiful girl in his class, with who he had talked with a few times because a project. Besides, you lived close to him, in the apartment block on the other side of the street. So you sometimes saw each other on the street, and made small conversation.
-          The thing is, he didn’t ask you out. He hadn’t thought he had any chances with you, so he just dropped it and cried to Ned and May about it.
-          But then, a highschool dance for valentine’s day came around.
-          He wasn’t going to go, let’s be real; he didn’t have a date, Ned was going with Betty and Flash had been mocking him for the entire week.
-          Sad boy was sitting at the end of the class, doodling on his notebook, when you approached him.
-          It made his day that you talked to him; so when you asked if he wanted to go with you to the dance, he just broke.
-          You took that as a bad sign, so you retracted and told him it was okay if he had someone.
-          Peter didn’t get to say yes because he just froze and nodded to everything you said, so you left.
-          That day Peter was as pale as ever. He spent the lunch time sitting on the same chair, looking ahead and thinking about nothing. He went home, told May about it and she actually smacked him with the newspaper.
-          She made him walk to your apartment and correct himself.
-          That was how he found himself talking to you through the window, explaining himself while both of you cried; you for sadness, and he for frustration.
-          Finally, you went the dance together and the rest is history.
-          Now.
-          NOW.
-          Dating Peter Parker is a rollercoaster.
-          One moment you’re okay, taking a nap together while playing Wii, and the next you’re screaming because you throw a blue shell at him.
-          He’s all about giving you unexpected roses, gifts or planning some weird dates that include random trips, horrible food and a lot of spiderman. And about starting arguments and fights over insecurities, stupid decisions and videogames.
-          He loves kisses. And I’m not talking about ‘good-morning’ kiss, ‘night’ kiss or ‘see you later’. Not even about random kisses in the cheek or quick pecks on the nose when he passes by.
-          No.
-          Peter has the necessity of trying every available cute kiss on the market. From the first moment, you learn that he loves that type of kisses. The spidey kiss is not enough.
-          For example, he will fight you in trying the lady and the tramp kiss while eating pasta in an Italian restaurant. Everyone looks at you weird, but he’ll be blushing and giggling for the whole dinner and it’s worthy.
-          It’s hard to admit, but he knows every Disney lyric and choreography and sings along with the film once he is comfortable enough with you.
-          Honestly, he’s a kid.
-          He shows it when, in autumn, he takes you to walk around the park only to find the most hidden place, make a pile of leaves on the ground and throw yourself over it. He loves spending the time with you, laying there and watching the people walk while imagine their lives.
-          Also, movie marathons with fortes every Saturday, that end up in a pillow fight and with no clothes in the end.
-          Fun fact: holidays make him riled up.
-          Like, the idea of creating a custom between the two of you, original and unique, keeps him awake at night. He starts planning Halloween one month before the vent.
-          And he’s a freak. On the good side, of course.
-          Peter can spend the whole night awake, you lying by his side sleeping, with the phone illuminating his face as he reads conspiracy theories and unsolved police files on BuzzFeed, only to wake you up when one is too scary or interesting.
-          He has a lot of inside jokes with you, almost all of them too strange for anyone to understand; but you love him that way.
-          His favourite thing to do on a Friday night is to watch soap operas from another county, without subtitles, and make up his own dialogue with you, with a bad accent.
-          Healthy competition, too.
-          Like, bet who can eat more ice-cream without brain-freeze. Or be quiet in a meeting with Tony where he’s asking questions. Talking about Tony, he’s so fed up with Peter and you that he schedule thirty minutes every week to cry about the decision of getting involved.
-          Who can sleep longer, run faster or annoy Mr Harrington the most. Who can keep smiling through a sad movie. Or cry through a happy one.
-          Days with Peter are always something new, you can’t never get bored.
-          There is also a sweet part in him.
-          He can’t sleep without you by his side when you finally make the relationship serious.
-          He has a corner in his room filled with silly selfies or objects that mean something to you.
-          There is a drawer with pads, make-up, panties, bras, pain-killers for the period, a brush, some hair bands, your favourite perfume and shampoo, and an extra charger for your phone in his wardrobe. That he updates every once in a while with things you might need or want.
-          Every day, he makes his goal to tell you ‘love you’ in a different way. By giving you something, helping you to study, learning something new for you, or just sticking a paper to your locker.
-          The thing is, Peter Parker is a boy with a mind of a kid who loves stepping on puddles but forced to become a superhero that swings you across NY.
-          And you get to be the lucky person to spend the rest of your life with him.
