Mini Modern Home Collection | Sims 2 Residential Lot Downloads

Modern homes aren't typically my build style, but I put these together several years back and they are currently residing in my desert town of Modern Mesa because coming up with creative town names isn't my strong point err....collecting dust.

These 5 lots are on the smaller size, 3x1, 2x2 and 3x2, so they work great for those small nooks and crannies that need to be filled in in a neighborhood.

Each of these homes only has 1 or 2 pieces of CC that can easily be omitted. I can't live without upper cabinets in my kitchens, but maybe you can! 🤣🤣A list of CC is included below each home. Most of it is either Maxis "lost and found" items, or pre-order bonuses.

All EPs and SPs are required for these lots.

Here's the first home. This one has 2 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms and is built on a 2x2 lot. You will need the MANDAL dresser from the Ikea Stuff Pre-order bonus items, and the usual upper kitchen cabinets.

Floor plan layout: The 3rd bedroom is being used as a home gym right now, but you're welcome to toss the treadmill (and other things) and plop a bed in there instead.

Now for home #4. This one has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and is built on a 3x2 lot. If the round window doesn't show up as a window just remove the Genuine Railway Tie fencing from the 2x1 space directly in front of it. I'm using @fwaysims Object Freedom mod which gives me a little more, uhh, freedom in object placement. 🤭 Tap the pictures to see a larger version:

And now for home #5. This one has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and is built on a 3x1 lot. The car is not included in the packaged lot download. It's just there to look fancy and add a pop of color. Don't worry though, it comes with the game. You can find it in the buy catalog under misc> cars.

Floor plan layout: Feel free to turn the open space on the second floor into another bedroom if you need more room.

I’ve run these home through the Lot Compressor so any random references to sims that aren’t there should be removed. I have also run them through the Lot Cleaner to remove any bits of buggy code. These lots come with a shiny custom thumbnail so they have even more curb appeal in your Lots and Houses bin! 😄

I ALWAYS recommend using the Sims 2 Pack Clean installer to install lot files.

Welcome to the Princess Peach Challenge for The Sims 4! 🌟 In this magical adventure, you’ll guide Peach through her journey to build a castle, grow her kingdom, and prove she’s the ultimate boss princess! 💕 Each phase is packed with fun goals, storytelling, and some epic building moments. So, grab your crown and let’s get started! 👑🎮

🌟 Setup

Before Peach can start her royal quest, we’ve gotta set the stage!

🏰 1. Manage Worlds:

Bulldoze and convert the Von Haunt Estate into a residential lot. (You’ll need the Venue Changes mod by Zerbu 🛠️).

Rename the lot: Mushroom Castle. 🍄✨

🌞 2. Lot Traits:

Add these magical traits to Peach’s new kingdom:

🌱 Great Soil (perfect for gardening!).

☀️ Sunny Aspect (keep it positive and happy).

🌬️ Bracing Breezes (gotta keep fit for all that adventuring!).

💸 3. Starting Funds:

Reduce Peach’s starting funds to 8,000 simoleons (even princesses have to budget sometimes 😅).

👸 4. Create Peach:

Aspiration: Friend of the World (because Peach is a sweetheart 💖).

Traits: Cheerful 😄, Good 💕, Outgoing 🌟.

Career: Politician (Charity Organizer branch) 💼✨.

🏡 5. The Royal Shed (aka Her Starter Home):

Peach starts her journey in a tiny shed (humble beginnings, am I right? 😅):

Inside: A basic bed, desk, chair, mini fridge, and a small bathroom (toilet, sink, shower 🚿).

Outside: A little garden patch for growing flowers and veggies 🌸🥕.

👑 Phase 1: Becoming a Princess

Peach is just starting out, full of dreams and determination! 🌟 This phase is all about laying the foundation for her role as a princess.

✨ Goals:

🌟 Career Goals:

Join the Politician career and reach Level 3.

Use your Charisma (Level 3) to deliver a speech on a community lot 🎤💬.

📚 Writing Goals:

Write and publish your first children’s book: The Toad Who Could 🐸📖.

Earn at least 500 simoleons in royalties.

🤝 Social Goals:

Make 5 friends to build your royal crew 👑✨.

🤝 Skill Goals:

Reach Level 3 Gardening Skill.

🏡 Building Goals:

Keep living in the Royal Shed for now—it’s not castle time yet!

🏰 Phase 2: Building the Ground Floor

Time to level up, literally! Peach starts constructing the ground floor of her castle while still living in her Royal Shed (progress takes time, bestie!).

🏗️ Construction Unlocks:

Build the following rooms:

Entrance Hallway: Add some cute flooring, wall lights, and maybe a rug or table ✨🪞.

Bathroom: Sink, toilet, and shower—basic but functional 🚿.

Kitchen: Fridge, stove, and one counter (no fancy upgrades yet, sorry! 🍳).

Dining Room: A dining table with four chairs (keep it simple for now 🪑).

Office: Desk, computer, and maybe a bookshelf for decor 📚💻.

Grand Staircase (Placeholder): Add a staircase to hint at future expansion—it doesn’t go anywhere yet, though 😅.

⛔ Restrictions:

Peach still has to live in the Royal Shed—no castle bedrooms yet!

Keep the decor modest (save the fancy stuff for later ✨).

✨ Goals:

🌟 Career Goals:

Reach Level 6 in the Politician career.

Use Charisma Level 5 to deliver another speech on a public lot 🎤.

Raise 2,000 simoleons for charity 💖.

📚 Writing Goals:

Publish 2 more children’s books: Piranha Plant Picnic 🪴 and Adventure Under the Mushroom Tree 🍄📖.

Earn 1,500 simoleons in total royalties.

🤝 Social Goals:

Make 10 friends—your kingdom is growing! 🥳.

The castle gets an upgrade, and Peach finally gets her own fancy bedroom! ✨

🏗️ Construction Unlocks:

Build the second floor, adding:

Princess’s Bedroom: Luxurious bed, vanity, and wardrobe—time to live like royalty! 👸🛏️.

Second-Floor Bathroom: Fancy fixtures, of course! 🚿🛁.

Royal Hallways: Connect those new rooms for a cohesive look.

Functional Grand Staircase: It finally works—no more pretending! 😅.

⛔ Restrictions:

Still no extravagant luxury items (save the chandeliers for Phase 4!).

✨ Goals:

🌟 Career Goals:

Reach Level 8 in the Politician career.

Host a public protest on a community lot ✊.

Raise 5,000 simoleons for charity 💖.

📚 Writing Goals:

Publish 2 more books: Royal Mushroom Adventures 🍄 and The Brave Garden Bloom 🌼📖.

Earn 3,500 simoleons in total royalties.

🤝 Social Goals:

Make 15 friends—Peach is becoming everyone’s favorite princess! 💕.

Host a Gold-Level Dinner Party in your castle 🎉.

🏡 Building Goals:

Move into your Princess Bedroom (bye-bye, Royal Shed for now! - do not delete it) and finish the second floor 🛏️.

👑 Phase 4: Restoring Royalty

Peach is thriving now, but there’s always room to level up! 🌟 This phase is all about making her castle shine, expanding the kingdom, and preparing for future challenges (Bowser might be lurking 👀).

🏗️ Construction Unlocks:

Time to add some extra flair to Peach’s castle:

Grand Banquet Room:

Upgrade the Dining Room into a banquet space fit for royalty. 👑

Add a large table (seats at least 8 Sims), fancy lighting (chandeliers, anyone? 💡✨), and decor.

Royal Garden Expansion:

Add 10 plants (flowers, fruits, or veggies—get creative 🌷🍓).

Include a fountain or pond and some outdoor seating for a peaceful vibe 🪷.

Royal Sitting Room:

Build a cozy living room with:

Plush sofas or armchairs 🛋️.

Optional fireplace for extra charm 🔥.

A creative hobby item like a chess table ♟️ or easel 🎨.

Servants’ Quarters:

Add a spare bedroom with basic furnishings (bed, side table, lamp).

⛔ Restrictions:

No building the third floor or any secret rooms yet—save that for Phase 5!

✨ Goals:

🌟 Career Goals:

Reach Level 9 in the Politician career.

Host a Gold-Level Royal Fundraiser or Charity Benefit Party in the Banquet Room 🎉💖.

Raise 8,000 simoleons for charity.

📚 Writing Goals:

Publish 2 more children’s books: Toad and the Great Fountain 🐸💦 and Peach’s Royal Banquet 🍑🍽️.

Earn 5,000 simoleons in total royalties (cumulative).

🤝 Social Goals:

Make 20 friends to show Peach’s growing popularity and beloved status 🌟.

Host a Gold-Level Social Event in the Banquet Room.

🏡 Building Goals:

Complete all new construction (Banquet Room, Royal Garden, Sitting Room, Servants’ Quarters).

Convert the Royal Shed into a greenhouse for gardening 🌱.

😱 Phase 5: Kidnapping and Self-Rescue

Plot twist! A villain (cough Bowser cough 🐢🔥) disrupts Peach’s perfect life by taking over her castle! Peach must now rise to the challenge, prove her independence, and reclaim her kingdom on her own terms. 💪👸

🏚️ Kidnapping Setup:

Story Setup:

Create a rival Sim (your Bowser equivalent) with traits like Mean, Hot-Headed, or Kleptomaniac 🥴.

Move this rival into Peach’s castle (using Manage Households) and lock the lot for Peach—she’s officially kicked out! 🚫🏰.

Peach moves to a rundown micro-home (maximum 32 tiles) on a tiny lot. Use cheats to reduce her funds to 1,000 simoleons.

Living Situation:

Build her new tiny home with only the bare essentials:

1 bed, mini fridge, toilet, shower, and a cheap desk with a broken-looking computer 💻💔.

Castle Rules:

Peach may not return to the castle or interact with it until she completes her self-rescue goals.

✨ Goals to Escape and Reclaim the Castle:

🌟 Career Goals:

Maintain her Politician career and reach Level 10 while living in her tiny home.

💪 Fitness Goals:

Max the Fitness skill (Level 10)—Peach has to train to defeat her rival 🏋️‍♀️💥.

📚 Writing Goals:

Write and publish 1 motivational book about overcoming obstacles: The Princess Who Saved Herself ✨📖.

Earn 2,000 simoleons in royalties during this phase.

🤝 Social Goals:

Befriend 2 new Sims in her new neighborhood to show her resilience.

Meet Mario (add him to the neighborhood!) and fall in love 💕.

💰 Earnings Goals:

Save up 15,000 simoleons through work, writing, painting, or gardening to “fund her escape.”

🎉 Reclaiming the Castle:

Once Peach completes her goals, she can return to her castle! 🏰✨ Here’s what she needs to do to fully reclaim her kingdom:

Defeat the Rival:

Win a Fight interaction against Bowser. Show him who’s boss! 💥👊

Host a “Reclaim the Kingdom” Party:

Throw a Gold-Level Party to celebrate her victory 🎉🍑.

🏗️ Unlockable Upgrades:

After reclaiming her castle, Peach gets to add some well-deserved luxury:

Secret Tower Room:

A hidden or private tower room with luxury decor (e.g., yoga mat, meditation stool, or vanity table). 🗝️✨

Expanded Bedrooms:

Add a fully decorated heir’s bedroom for the next generation 🌼.

Royal Garden Upgrades:

Add a gazebo, statues, or seating areas to reflect Peach’s triumph 🌷🪑.

Banquet Hall Enhancements:

Add extra elegance to the Banquet Room, like a piano or bar 🎹🍸.

🌸 Phase 6: The Legacy of the Princess

Peach has done it all—built her castle, defeated her rival, and earned her happily ever after. Now, it’s time to prepare the next generation (and wrap things up with a bow 🎀).

📚 Writing Goals:

Publish 1 final children’s book about her journey: The Legacy of the Mushroom Kingdom 🍄✨.

Earn 10,000 simoleons in total royalties (cumulative).

💕 Social Goals:

Marry Mario in a lavish wedding 💍🍑.

Make 20 total friends (symbolizing Peach’s beloved status).

Befriend 1 child or teen Sim (as a mentor to the next generation).

👶 Heir Goals:

Have at least 1 female child (Daisy), who will continue her legacy.

🏰 Final Castle Completion:

Peach’s castle must be 100% complete before her heir takes over:

Throne Room: Luxury furniture fit for royalty 👑.

Classic Colonial

This grand, high style Colonial Revival home is as traditional as they come. One might even call it a bit stuffy. Of course I saved the biggest, fanciest, showiest for last — and honestly, I'm kinda meh about it. Symmetry, yawn...

Still, you'd be hard pressed to find a better style of home to decorate for Christmas in that classic, traditional way: between the formal living and dining rooms, this home has not one but two big, fancy windows for big, fancy Christmas trees. And with a live-in butler, the sky's the limit for hosting big Christmas parties.

This home might be perfect for: a sim family that is either very big or very rich (or better yet both), your own Home Alone-style kid sim's misadventures, fireplace aficionados (we've got 6!)

The Bluewind Inn ♥ The Sims 4: Speed Build // CC

♥ Hi guys, Today I present to you the Bluewind Inn and Suites located in Brindleton Bay. This build was inspired by the sea, the sand, and the sky. The Bluewind Inn sits near Cavalier cove and is owned by retired Marine Biologists, Rio and Jane Clarence. 5 years ago, this beautiful seaside manor was transformed into a Inn to be enjoyed by both locals and tourist.

The Bluewind inn is a multifunctional lot as it could be set as a rental lot, a restaurant, a pool, or a spa.  

ATTENTION: This is a huge build and is very cc heavy, so beware. If you’ve downloaded my other builds, you should have majority of the cc’s I used…But there’s more cc on this than usual.

✨ John Price’s Home - My Sims 4 Take 🎮

Hi, everyone! 👋 Remember how I mentioned in the A/N of my last chapter that the house described was inspired by @eleu22's moodboard for John Price’s home? Well, I loved it so much that I had to try my hand at bringing it to life—in The Sims 4! 😂

For those who might not remember, the A/N was from Chapter 11 of my Papa Bear Material story. It’s the chapter where John brings you to his home for the first time to spend the weekend together as a couple. That chapter was such a special turning point in their relationship, and I wanted to make sure the house really captured the warmth, cosiness, and charm of John’s character.

Whilst reading this, I want you to imagine John Price taking you here 😈—his home, his space, his rules. Just picture it: the cozy fireplace crackling, the scent of whisky lingering in the air, and that intense look he gives when it’s just the two of you. Go on, let your mind wander to the things he’d do… because trust me, he’s thought about it too.

This is my interpretation of what Captain Price’s home might look like, from the cozy interior to the overall vibe. I was inspired by @eleu22's vision—their moodboard really hit the spot! While I agreed with much of their design, I also put my own spin on it, tweaking it to suit how I imagine the Captain’s space.(So it’s more “inspired by” than a full recreation!)

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll see:

📍 Structure - So, let’s start with the foundation of the place. The floors are a mix of old vintage tiles and polished hardwood—well-maintained and perfectly worn in with years of use, especially after John renovated the place. The walls? They’re made of rustic stone and sturdy brick, well-structured and kept in excellent condition. Captain Price inherited the house from his grandparents, and during his renovations, he made sure to preserve its warmth and charm while adding his own personal touch. You can almost feel the history and legacy of his family in every corner, a tribute to the generations that have lived here.

📍 Living Room - Warm, inviting, and just the right amount of rugged charm—because you know Price would keep it comfortable but not overly fancy. He has a cast iron fireplace installed underneath the original one, something he added during renovations for practicality and efficiency. The room is filled with old furniture, lots of books, and pictures of his late family, reflecting a deep sense of nostalgia. Price inherited his cottage from his grandparents, who originally owned the place. He lives somewhere around Kingston or Richmond—not too far from Central London but close enough to enjoy the woodland charm of the outskirts.

There’s also a door in the living room that leads directly to the garden outdoor area, adding a touch of tranquillity to the cosy space.

On the other end of the room, you’ll find a collection of vinyl records, a player, and an amplifier. I can absolutely see Captain Price brooding on the couch over his plans with a whisky or bourbon in hand, maybe even smoking one of his nice cigars, as he listens to Annie Lennox’s “Money Can’t Buy It” or something from Tears for Fears, The Police, Sting, Duran Duran, John Waite, or Spandau Ballet classics. And when he’s feeling especially emo or introspective, maybe even some modern ones like Adele or Hozier.

Duran Duran’s “Come Undone” or “Ordinary World,” and Sting’s “Fields of Gold” or “Shape of My Heart” would absolutely be on his playlist when he’s in one of those pensive moods. (And yes, Adele and Hozier have vinyls of their albums, and oh boy, they sound so good!) 😍

📍 Kitchen - Functional and homey, with a touch of practicality that screams "This man cooks bacon in a cast-iron skillet." It’s a rustic space filled with lots of old items, including his grandparents' porcelain plates, some newer ones, and a vintage stove. There’s even a little porcelain chicken figurine that’s been there for ages—he finds it cute, so it’s staying. At the centre is a wooden counter island, usually covered in food, seasonings, garnishes, and maybe a bottle of whisky or two. This man makes a proper snack.

📍 Dining Room - The dining room exudes rustic charm, with another iron cast fireplace that doubles as an oven, perfect for cooking and grilling. Above the fireplace, a collection of herbs hangs, adding a fresh, earthy touch to the room. On the left side of the fireplace, there’s a sturdy hutch or cabinet, stocked with all sorts of fine spirits and selected wines. Next to it is a well-stocked drink cart, ready for any occasion.

On the counter, a cheese dome sits, showcasing a selection of his favourite cheeses, because this man is absolutely obsessed with cheese. Under the cabinet, there’s a collection of different glasses for various types of alcohol. Two framed vintage posters hang on the wall—one detailing British cheeses and the other offering basic cheese knowledge, both adding a touch of humour and character to the space.

An old chandelier hangs above the center of the room, casting a warm, soft light, completing the intimate, cozy atmosphere.

📍 Bedroom - A simple but intimate space that feels like a retreat after long missions. The room features a cosy, old queen-size bed with vintage charm. At each end of the bed, there’s an old end table. One holds a book and a tray of water, while the other has a tablet, probably for late-night reading or catching up on work. A dresser sits nearby, topped with a vase of fresh flowers and an old replica painting of a famous artwork. At the foot of the bed is a comfy ottoman, perfect for kicking back after a long day, and an old chair is positioned beside the bed, as if ready for quiet moments of reflection. A large window lets in plenty of sunlight, warming up the room with natural light and creating the perfect atmosphere for relaxation.

📍 Study - The door to Captain Price’s study is cleverly disguised as a bookshelf. It’s the perfect example of understated secrecy—who would’ve guessed that behind the shelves of books lies one of his most brooding spaces? A place for the Captain to retreat and get even more pensive.

Against one wall, there’s a shelf where his most precious drinks and cigars are kept, along with a stash of biscuits and cookies (because, yes, he’s got a sweet tooth—don’t let the gruff exterior fool you). All of this is strictly for his own enjoyment, mind you—no sharing.

His main desk, made of dark wood, is set up with the kind of tech Simon—his favourite, and let’s face it, only tech-savvy lieutenant—would be proud of. Simon installed a desktop computer, added extra memory and a camera for his calls, and even set him up with a high-quality mic. He even picked out a nice pair of headphones for those brooding music sessions, where Captain Price likes to sip whisky, smoke cigars, and disappear into his thoughts. And just for extra fun, Simon also set up his music app account. (Yes, Captain Price still insists on listening to his vinyls downstairs, but hey, he’s trying with the tech stuff.)

In the corner, there’s a telescope pointed toward the window. When the Captain wants to look at the stars (or brood about something—again), he’s got a perfect view. This too was set up by Simon. Why Simon? Well, because he's Captain Price’s favourite lieutenant, of course—or, more accurately, his favourite IT support. Remember that time in the game when Kyle asked, “Why can’t it be you instead of me going in?” when they were about to assault a location? Price just casually responded with, “That’s why they call me Captain and you Sergeant.” Same deal with Simon—though in this case, Simon got a nice haul of rare whisky, bourbon, cheeses, and, naturally, cookies, all for setting up tech in one go. And when Price calls him in for IT support, Simon always tries to act like he’s somewhere else, hiding from the task, but we all know he secretly enjoys it (and the perks, obviously).

Books. There are lots of books on the tall bookshelf, as the Captain likes to read—mostly military thrillers, obviously, but don’t be surprised to find a few spy novels by John le Carré or Frederick Forsyth hidden in there. The shelf isn’t just limited to that genre, though. You’ll also find a collection of cookbooks (because, yes, Price can cook!), fishing guides, gardening books, and even some on carpentry—because he’s always been handy with his hands. Atop the bookshelf sits a vintage typewriter in a glass case—his grandparents’ typewriter, which he keeps as a display piece. It’s a touch of nostalgia, a little piece of his past that he can’t quite let go of.

Next to the bookshelf is a small study table with his laptop. This is where the Captain taps away at his keyboard, writing stories in his downtime. (Who knew, right? Captain Price, aspiring writer, channeling his inner Andy McNab.) Maybe one day, when he’s feeling confident, he’ll share a manuscript with someone—just don’t expect it to be anytime soon.

📍 Garden/Outdoor Area - Lush, peaceful, and perfect for a man who appreciates some fresh air and quiet moments. It’s filled with trees, shrubs, and greenery, and there’s even a small stretch of the River Thames running behind the property—a little slice of tranquility amidst the chaos of life.

I had so much fun building this and imagining every little detail. I hope you enjoy this peek into what I think John Price’s home might look like—Sims 4 style! I made Webby and the Lords in Black on Sims 4 a while ago:

I was really proud of his hair. I also gave every Lord and Webby their own special room/building, so here’s Wiggly’s:

Decorating isn’t my strong suit but his room was the most fun to design, I was thinking mostly of a grand palace, mostly in green, with a fireplace and a table with thrones for him and his siblings to meet at - notice the white throne for Webby?

Here’s Pokey:

I couldn’t find a beret so I went for a Phantom of the Opera style fedora, but the eyes I found were PERFECT (side note - they are all spell casters because that made the most sense considering their godly powers). Here’s Pokey’s room:

I’ll be honest, I accidentally mostly forgot to give him instruments, my idea for this room was to explore his different interests because he spends most of TGWDLM trying to figure out what people want, and that’s reflected in the different activities in his room. I also gave him cool wallpaper that reminded me of a beehive as a cute nod to that - I think I gave him a violin in the end that you can only really see from a different angle.

Here’s Tinky:

My inspiration for Tinky’s look here was anime characters, much like in NPMD, but I found the perfect goat eyes for him that totally add to his look. Here’s Tinky’s room:

I gave Tinky every clock I could find, but the vibes of the room were definitely meant to replicate the cube with insane patterns meant to drive someone mad; there’s a rock climbing wall in the corner that I think alludes to Tinky’s feral energy.

Here’s Blinky:

I’ll be honest; this hairstyle for Blinky was what inspired me to recreate the eldritch siblings on the Sims, it just seemed perfect, and of course I made his eyes massive so he can have a good look at everyone. The sunglasses also seemed pretty accurate to me. Here’s Blinky’s room:

My idea for this room was to give Blinky things to watch - so there’s loads of tvs, a camera, comfy chairs and even spy tech in a corner in case shoes get too unrealistic for him. A small detail that I wanted to point out is that in every room for a Lord, I have placed lava lamps on their bedside tables that match their colours, funnily enough I just found them in the game anyway and they were a perfect fit.

Here’s Nibbly:

A fluffy jacket, pigtails and a big mouth, what else do you need for an accurate Nibbly? I love that jacket, I wish I owned it in real life. Here‘s Nibbly’s room:

Okay, this is essentially a fancy kitchen with a cupcake machine, a wardrobe, a vanity and a bed - I ran out of ideas here. Still, I think it’s cute and I think Nibbly would like it if he ever got midnight food cravings. This room could save lives.

Finally, here’s Webby:

I honestly think that Webby is the most accurate, I was looking at reference images for all of them but that dress seems like it’s been ripped right from the screen, not to mention her hair. I’m proud of this Webby, I can sleep well at night knowing I’ve at least done her justice. Here’s Webby’s room:

I was definitely going for ‘ethereal’ when I designed this room, with a chill, relaxing vibe - what could be more relaxing than loads of fairy lights? I also made it a priority to give Webby plants to show that she is encouraging new life instead of crushing it like her brothers - the larger amount of windows and lights also are meant to suggest that she’s a kinder, more moral/good person.

Working on setting up Quinn's "house" in Hell.

This is long after River starts living with him. I still have to perfect things, but this is the general layout. There's a sitting area by the door that can be blocked off by walls to hide the rest of the room. There's two desks, one for River and one for Quinn. A bed and a couch that have a good view of a large TV. And a cozy kitchen with a bar.

Then there's a large bathroom with two sinks, a water closet, a giant walk in shower, a separate room that had a fancy and huge tub (bigger than what's shown but Sims 4 has limits) and a huge closet where one side is Quinn's stuff and the other is River's.

J & M Legacy Home | Sims 2 Lot Download

This spacious home is built on a 4x3 lot and has a traditional look that incorporates modern touches with plenty of room for all. This lot is very lightly furnished and costs §109,656.

This lot was originally built as an upgraded house for a Legacy challenge family one of my kids was playing years ago--J and M are the initials of the founder, and his wife (who I'm pretty sure was Melissa Fancy). I've redone the upstairs, which required putting on a new roof, and I'm happy to say that for the moment I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Here's a look at the back. The white fence is a Maxis "Lost & Found" object. I'll pop a link near the lot download so you can grab it for your game too if you haven't already.

The lot looks awfully small for a legacy family you might say, and you'd be right! 🤣 I rebuilt the home on a smaller (4x3) lot so it would run faster and be more efficient for playing.

Let's take a look inside and see the floor plan! I'm using a default replacement for the Euro set porch railings so that they are plain white and don't have that ugly neon blue stripe on them. Along those same lines I've also got a default replacement for the Hydrangea shrub to make the eye-searing, neon blue flowers look more realistic. I'll have a link near the bottom of the post if you need to have them in your game too.

1st Floor: Clockwise from bottom left: Dining room, bathroom/laundry, kitchen, back entryway with office nook, family room/music room, entryway, stairs, and living room. Oh yeah, there's a garage in there too, but I bet you can pick out which space that is. 🤭

2nd Floor: Clockwise from bottom left: Master bedroom, master bathroom, kids room 1, bathroom, kids bedroom 2/nursery, kids bedroom 3, upstairs landing, and kids bedroom 4.

As usual, if you don't like something or it doesn't fit your style, tear it out and put something different in.

I’ve run this home through the Lot Compressor so any random references to sims that aren’t there should be removed. I have also run it through the Lot Cleaner to remove any bits of buggy code. This lot comes with a shiny custom thumbnail so it has even more curb appeal in your Lots and Houses bin! 😄

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Transitions in Time

The rest of the day for the adults is relatively mundane. Robin and Scarlett head into their office jobs and Sabrina heads into the restaurant. While there, they get an unexpected call.

Sabrina: Hey, Laks! Didn't expect a call from you!

Lakshmi: Hey, Sabrina! Hope I'm not intruding too much. Just wanted to give you a quick call. Are you busy?

Sabrina: Restaurant just opened so no customers yet. I've got some time. How are you and Tabs doing?

Lakshmi: Great, actually! We adopted a cat and things are pretty chill.

Sabrina: Awesome! Yeah, Ziggy's aged up to an adult dog now. Crazy how that little puppy grew so big so quickly.

Lakshmi: I feel like you just sent me those puppy pictures! Goodness, time's really flying. Speaking of which, how's everyone else? You, Juno, Beau?

Sabrina: We're all doing good. Juno's off on his first official day of school with the twins. Sure he's making a bunch of friends.

Lakshmi: That's so amazing! Hard to believe he's gotten so big too. Man... we're far removed from our college days, huh?

Sabrina: Tell me about it. Nyla with her family, me with mine, and you and Tabs!

Lakshmi: Yeah, so much has changed. And Tabatha and I have been thinking, y'know, since we've got this new cat, and our place is small. We've decided to purchase a house.

Sabrina: Oh, wow! That's a huge step, Laks! Congrats!

Lakshmi: Thanks! There's an old mill down in Port Promise that's been gutted and repurposed. Looks really nice. We've been busy getting things set up.

Sabrina: Sweet! Can't wait to see the space. You know, my mom and I found a spot in Grims Quarry that we love. Such a shame, feels like we booted you guys out of that place.

Lakshmi: We saw it on the market too. Lovely spot, but we wanted a little more space.

Sabrina: More space than that?

Lakshmi: Well, we've been living in such a tiny apartment for so long, and with the cat and all... we wanted a place with more breathing room.

Sabrina: I see... well, just let me know when the housewarming is and you know we'll be there!

Lakshmi: Definitely! It may not be for a week or so more. Hopefully, it won't conflict with your mom's move. Oh, and do be sure to invite Alton and his girlfriend too! That man changes phone numbers like underwear. I can never keep up.

Sabrina chuckles.

Sabrina: Can do. Anyone else to add to this growing list of invites?

Lakshmi: Well of course the whole family over at yours is welcome. Marquise too, if he has the time.

Sabrina: Okay, noted. Oh, speaking of Marquise, Beau and I are finally gonna have that dinner with him and Juno over at his place. It's just been so busy with the wedding, all the birthdays, mom's big move, getting Ziggy... we just couldn't figure out a schedule that worked for everyone. We better snag this one before we lose it.

Lakshmi: Oh, finally? Man, he's been talking about wanting to invite you and Beau over for ages.

Sabrina: It's this big mysterious chat he's been hinting at since around Sigrid's Bridal Shower... between you and me, I think he's finally got someone special.

Lakshmi: You think?

Sabrina: Well he hasn't asked for too much advice on the apps lately, and Juno has mentioned how giddy his dad seems to be these days... There's gotta be someone. It's cool, I'll act surprised no matter what. Don't want to let on and ruin his surprise.

Lakshmi: It's nice that you guys have such a healthy relationship. No jealousy and sour feelings. It's definitely rare. You know my past.

Sabrina: That I do. But look at where it brought you: about to move into a fancy house with plenty of breathing room with the love of your life and cat! Sounds like a dream scenario to me!

Lakshmi: That's something I'd have to agree with you on! Thanks for always being there, Bina. You'll let me know how the dinner goes, yeah?

Sabrina: Of course! And you tell me how the move goes! If you need any help just say so!

Lakshmi: I think we've got it. Not too much to move from this tiny place.

Sabrina: Alright. Well, it sounds like service is picking up out there. Better get to it. Talk soon?

Lakshmi: Of course. Bye.

Sabrina: Bye-bye.

Sabrina hangs up and returns back to the task of running a restaurant with a little extra pep in their step. Getting time to chat with their friends, a novelty that gets increasingly harder to do as everyone's lives get busier and busier, is always refreshing. The rest of the workday goes on without a hitch, but it's still quite late by the time Sabrina makes it home. So late that they miss Juno's bedtime.

Sabrina: Hey, Mom. Sorry for being so late tonight. Things got pretty busy at the restaurant today.

Scarlett: No worries, sweetheart. You hungry? I'm meal-prepping for the week.

Sabrina: Starving. The irony of being a chef in your own restaurant is you can't find time to eat.

Scarlett: Well don't worry about having to scarf down a ham sandwich tonight. I'll be done with this shortly. You get settled in some, okay?

Sabrina: Alright. Thanks.

The free moment allows Sabrina to peek in on Juno, who's already fast asleep for the night. They're a little bummed that they didn't get to chat with him about how his first day went but Juno will definitely let them know another time. Sabrina admires the peaceful expression on their kid's face. Soon enough, it'll just be them together. Scarlett will retire away from the legacy home and they'll be a family on their own. Sure, Robin, Sigrid, and the twins will still be here, but it will still be odd to not live under the same roof as Scarlett. Sabrina only ever experienced it during their uni days, and Juno's never experienced it unless you count weekends at his dad's. Sabrina's nervous, but they've prepared themselves for it. They also reflect on how special it's been to have their mother all this time. Their own mother lost her mom as a child, and Kira passed when Sabrina and Robin were only toddlers. Of all the adults in the house, Sabrina is especially lucky.

Sabrina realizes how long they've probably been standing here staring... yeah, kinda creepy. They clean it up by tucking Juno in tight before returning to the kitchen. By that time, Scarlett's done with her dish.

Scarlett: That you? Fish is ready. I'm just preparing some salad. Come take a seat.

While Sabrina digs into their plate, Scarlett and they get a chance to chat.

Scarlett: Juno seemed like he had a good first day.

Sabrina: Did he? I was a little worried.

Scarlett: He seemed to be in good spirits. Audrey was already talking about a project that’s coming up in a few weeks, and Alma was busy being Alma. Juno just sat in between the chaos.

Sabrina: Yeah… Sometimes I worry that he struggles to express himself between two big personalities. He could just be quiet, but… I don’t know.

Scarlett: Things have changed from his toddler days, huh? He was always the one making friends. Alma was the quiet one.

Sabrina: It’s like they sort of flipped. Don’t get me wrong, Alma still definitely enjoys her alone time, but her personality really shines now more than it did in the last.

Scarlett: Part of it is being a sibling of Audrey. Alma's got that competitive spirit… she wants to do well, but Audrey always by her side makes it harder to stand out. Meanwhile, Audrey's oblivious to most of the competition and Juno is just trying to make it through the day.

Sabrina: Three kids under one roof… don’t know how we're gonna manage.

Scarlett: You know your uncle and I had to deal with the same thing.

Sabrina: Well, Anya was so self-efficient since she was older, and Robin and I were pretty chill.

Scarlett: Are you kidding? You each had your own quirks that gave us a run for our money.

Sabrina: Aww come on, we weren’t that bad!

Scarlett: Oh don’t worry, we all go through it. Now’s your turn.

Sabrina: Did you wish this on me?

Scarlett: Never. But life repeats itself…

Scarlett chuckles, which makes Sabrina laugh.

Sabrina: Well, I guess you’re happy to be running off before the teen years.

Scarlett: Teen years are often the hardest, but not always. It was for me, my sister, and Anya… even you to some degree. I’m looking forward to the peace that comes with moving.

Sabrina: You know the kids will always want to be coming over.

Scarlett: I’ll be ready and excited for them to come. And then ready and excited to send them home.

Sabrina and Scarlett laugh again.

Sabrina: Thanks for the love, Mom.

Scarlett: To be fair, my teen years were hard too. Dealing with the loss of my own mother, my sister's pregnancy, and helping her care for Anya... it was hard, and I coped in not-so-great ways myself. Things will change as time progresses, but the good thing is you have such a big support system. Marquise, Beau, your friends, and me of course. That's not something your uncle and I had. My only sister was gone, and neither of us had especially close friends or parents to support us. So lean into your village, and we'll do what we can.

Sabrina: ...Okay. Thanks, Mom.

Scarlett: Don't mention it.

The main house was a simple two room cabin with a small hallway connecting the two.

To the left was the bedroom, and to the right was the kitchen. The furniture was well worn and robust, and although the place was much less fancy than the Park home it seemed like a wealth of luxury to Charles Elias after his long journey.

Once inside Charles Elias was invited to sit at the dinner table, with the old man, who introduced himself as Isak, sitting at the head of the table.

"Now then," Isak said, "Why don't you explain why on earth you've come all this way to see Theodore, and I'll have my niece cook us up a nice warm meal while we talk."

Once Isak had called out to a younger girl, who walked in with barely a hello and who kept her gaze firmly away from the group, Charles Elias began telling everyone his story.

He skirted around the truth of who his father was, worried that it would reflect poorly on both Charles Elias, his mother and Theodore if it were to come out, and instead leaned heavily into Joseph's behaviour as the driving force of him leaving.

It wasn't technically a lie.

The more Charles Elias spoke, the more of his frustration poured out.

How angry he was at the man who had raised him for how he had been treated, how slighted he felt, how he reached a point where he just couldn't take it anymore.

And the more Charles Elias spoke, the sadder Theodore and Isak looked. They all knew their culture said you should always listen to and obey the head of the household, but they could also understand that a hurt and angry teenage boy might not follow those expectations.

Once Charles Elias was done, Theodore spoke up.

"Well," he said, "I certainly think you had cause to leave. It was a rash decision, but I can't find it within myself to hold it against you."

Charles Elias breathed a sigh of relief.

"Personally," Theodore continued, "And I hope you don't mind the suggestion, sir, I wouldn't be opposed to having you stay here and help out with the fishing. It's hard work, but it's honest work, and a strong young man such as yourself would do well."

"I-I wouldn't mind fishing, sir," Charles Elias said, glancing towards the man at the head of the table, "I promise I will work hard to earn my living if I you let me stay here."

"I don't see why not," Isak said, "Theodore staying with us has supported our family immensely, and having an extra hand here would do wonders."

Charles Elias smiled.

"I say you're welcome to stay in Theodore's cabin, and to work with us. Welcome, Charles Elias."

With the tension of weeks of travel gone, the conversation began to flow more freely.

Theodore and Charles Elias joked and reminisced, and Isak told a few far-fetched stories of his fishing days as a young man.

Finally, everything felt alright again.

Historical Info

Oh boy, oh boy! Get ready for historical info you guys, and thank you to everyone for your patience <3

Since I'll be covering two different topics, I'm gonna arrange it into different sub-headers to make reading easier.

Charles Elias' Path

We've discussed the Postal Road between Stockholm and Turku in the past, primarily looking into how it functioned in general.

As such, I won't go into all of that again, but will instead look at the path that Charles Elias took to reach Theodore.

Using this map as a base, I made a sketch of the path that Charles Elias took in order to reach Theodore.

I've always kept the exact village etc. where my sims live somewhat vague on purpose, mostly to have a little bit more room for storytelling.

But, in general terms, you can see what areas I've imagined Charles Elias started his journey from (blue) and where he ended it (red).

The blue X to the west marks the location of the postal harbour, which would have been the point where he turned east.

Now, if you were to make this journey today it would not take two weeks. With car you can make this journey in like maybe 40(?) minutes or so, and on foot google maps says such a walk would take aprox. 17 hours.

However! Keeping in mind that nowadays we have the luxury of modern, well-kept roads and easier modes of transport, I reckoned it made sense if the journey took longer.

There were less roads in general, most were dirt roads, and many small channels of water had to be crossed by boat or bridge. Taking into consideration setting up camp/sleeping somewhere and winter conditions and I figured it would make sense for such a journey to take much longer.

Inns

Set up along the postal road and larger roads at this time were a number of inns.

For the most part these inns were somewhat simple, and often mostly had a main room and some rooms for travelers. The primary people who came to the inns were people traveling along the postal road, primarily "officials, military, merchants and sometimes sailors and boatsmen". This we know since the inns were demanded to keep a diary of their visitors, some of which have survived to modern day.

The quality of the inns at this time varied, with some travel diaries bemoaning the quality, while others thought it was pretty okay. "Guests of higher social standing preferred to stay with priests instead."
