Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - The Party Pt. 4
Matilda: ...And that's what happened.
Harper: No way… are you sure you saw right? Maybe you misunderstood.
Matilda: There was no misunderstanding this. I saw him. I saw both of them.
Harper: Whoa…
Matilda: Yeah.
Harper: This is wild. I gotta say, I really didn't see that one coming.
Matilda: How do you think I feel?
Matilda: He never told me he liked guys.
Harper: Guess he had his secrets too.
Matilda: Feel like I barely know him now...
Harper: Well, that was the point, right?
Silence.
Harper: Matilda—
Matilda: No no, you're right. I asked for this. It's my fault.
Matilda sighs.
Matilda: I was so focused on myself. What I needed and wanted... I disregarded him. Man... I really do suck.
Harper: No you don't.
Matilda: I do.
Harper: No.
Matilda: Are you really arguing with me about this?
Harper: Yes.
There's a pause. Both girls chuckle at the absurdity of it all.
Matilda: We sure do know how to pick 'em, huh?
Harper: We?
Matilda: You and Romeo.
Harper: I mean, I wouldn't say I picked him... but we agreed that we're better as friends. He's a nice guy though. Sorry your attempt didn't go to plan. I just don't think dating's in the cards for me right now.
Another pause.
Matilda: Carlos said something earlier... he said that you're always trying to make me happy. Is that true?
The question is surprising to Harper. She sits in stunned silence for a moment.
Harper: Um, I mean, I wouldn't say that.
Matilda: You can be honest with me, Harp. I think I need that now more than ever.
Harper sighs.
Harper: You're my best friend, Tilda. We've seen each other grow. All the good and bad. I think it's natural to want to do what we can to make each other happy. You tried to make me happy. You thought me being with Romeo would be good for me.
Matilda: But I forced it on you. I twisted your arm.
Harper: Hey, if I really didn't want to do it, I just would've said he looks like his breath smells like trash berries.
Matilda: Well, does it?
Harper: Couldn't tell between the strong cologne and scent of beer.
Matilda laughs.
Harper: No, he smelled fine. There just... wasn't a spark. For either of us, really. It's okay. No hard feelings. And like I said, you tried. So thanks.
Matilda: You're thanking me for pairing you poorly?
Harper: I'm thanking you for trying your hardest to make me happy.
Matilda: I thought I was happy. Finally being on my own, away from my brothers and my mom, finally feeling like I had control of my own life... but it seems I've screwed things up.
Harper: You didn't screw it up. Sure, you made some mistakes, but you still push forward and create the type of life you want. That's what you always vowed to do. Remember in high school? You always said, "Harp, one day I'm gonna own the world with you right by my side."
Matilda: Yeah, well... you think I'm any closer to my goal?
Harper: Are you kidding? You're already immortalizing yourself in Foxbury history. Pair that with your killer grades and killer looks, the world better be prepared for what's coming.
Matilda: Well the same goes for you too! I just want you to see it in yourself. I think that's why I'm always pushing you.
Harper: I could probably stand to work on my own self-esteem. I'm just not as confident as you. Not so sure of myself and what I want.
Matilda: It starts with the little things. What do you want right now?
Harper: Just to be by my best friend's side. So, guess I'm winning.
Matilda: Have to say I agree.
Matilda: I do want you to be happy, Harp. I really do. You're so special to me. No one understands me like you do.
Harper: You're special to me too.
Matilda: Promise me, no matter what happens, we'll always do our best to make each other happy.
Harper: Think I can promise that. I've already been doing it.
Matilda chuckles lightly.
Matilda: Oh Carlos... sometimes he knows what he's saying, huh?
Harper: He knows us so well.
Matilda: Yeah. The asshole.
They chuckle. A pause. Matilda sniffles slightly.
Matilda: Gosh, I think all that beer is making us emotional saps.
Harper: I don't think it's the beer.
Matilda: No?
Harper: No.
Matilda wraps her arms around her friend. They sit there in silence for a while.
Harper: Matilda?
Matilda: Hm?
Harper: ...
🎶 When she bites her lip, looks at me like that
I wanna be more than a friend, more than a friend
Does she feel the same? Does she want me back?
I wanna be more than a friend, more than a friend
I have you close but I want more
I want your t-shirt on the floor
When you bite your lip, look at me like that
I wanna be more than a friend, more than a friend. 🎶

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - The Party Pt. 3
As the party continues, Dandre and Matilda keep their distance. Nolan succeeds in lifting his friend and roommate's spirits, chatting and drinking until Dre's forgotten all about his argument with Matilda.
Matilda focuses on losing herself in the party experience and being the best hostess she can be for everyone else.
Drinks still flow late into the night, sims are enjoying some games and dancing, and there's even some connections being made. All in all, Matilda's party is going exactly how she wanted! Well, mostly.
Carlos: For a hostess throwing such a successful party, you sure do have a sour face.
Matilda: I’m fine. Party's great. Everyone's having a good time. It's perfect.
Carlos: Come on. Spill it, girl.
Matilda: I think me and Dre are done.
Carlos: For real?
Matilda: You didn’t hear our big argument?
Carlos: Please. Everyone heard it.
Matilda: Then you should know how much of a big baby he was being.
Carlos: Mmm, is that so?
Matilda: I just don’t get it! Never once did I delude Dre in thinking there could ever be more than what we already had. I was clear from the beginning. He just had to catch feelings. I warned him, I gave him an out, and he stuck around regardless.
Carlos: Yes, but you also knew how he felt.
Matilda: What?
Carlos: You knew he was starting to feel deeper about your relationship, and you didn’t end things before they got bad.
Matilda: If he had just—
Carlos: Dre can’t help what his heart wants. He cared for you and wanted to be there for you even if you didn’t want him to be. Maybe it was foolish on his part, but how many guys are willing to put up with that?
Matilda: Oh, so now this is my fault?
Carlos: Both of you weren’t being honest. He should’ve just outright expressed his feelings, but if you didn’t really want him around, you would’ve pushed him away sooner. Admit it, as much as you claim to not be attached, you care for him too.
Matilda: What? You seriously think I like him?
Carlos: It may not be full-blown infatuation, but… maybe he grew on you. Just a little.
Matilda pauses. She can’t believe what she’s hearing. Her? Like Dre? Seriously? Carlos must’ve had one drink too many.
Matilda: You’re insane.
Carlos: So purposely asking him to hang out, spending casual time together studying, having “date nights” is something you do with someone who's just a woohoo-buddy?
Matilda: They’re barely dates, just meeting up for happy hour at the local pub and playing a few rounds of darts or ping pong. A-and, we're both in college and we take our studies seriously! Might as well keep each other company. And you're always working. Not like our schedules always match so that we can study together instead.
Carlos: Mhm. And why did you want Harper to start seeing Romeo so badly?
Matilda: I don’t know. He’s a good-looking guy. They’ve met before, got along.
Carlos: They barely said more than a few words to each other before tonight.
Matilda: And yet those two were giggling like little schoolgirls earlier.
Carlos: I also saw them hug it out and go their separate ways a little while back.
Matilda: They did? Crap, how did he screw that up? She liked him!
Carlos: She wanted to make you happy. She's always trying to make you happy.
Matilda: That’s not true.
Carlos laughs and shakes his head.
Matilda: Harper's my best friend. I know her. She liked him. He just must’ve been a lot duller than we both realized.
Carlos: Okay. Sure.
Matilda: At least she didn’t have to deal with a Dre.
Carlos: Okay, I’m gonna say it— you need to apologize.
Matilda: For what?!
Carlos: You should’ve just ended things if you didn’t want to be with him. Blowing up on him wasn't fair.
Matilda: Well he should’ve—!
Carlos gives her a look. She wants to protest, but she knows he's right.
Matilda: Uuuuuuggghhh, fine. I’ll apologize. Man, you’re annoying.
Carlos: Love ya too. Now go.
Matilda: Yeah yeah, I’m going.
Matilda's annoyed, but she knows Carlos is right. She was too harsh. Sure, Dandre should have been more honest with himself, but Matilda owes him honesty too. So she goes. She realizes she doesn’t see him anywhere. Odd. She also realizes suddenly how much she needs to pee. Too much beer will do that to you.
Matilda (to herself): Okay, bathroom break, then Dre.
She walks into the dorm floor's bathroom. She hears the giggles and smacking of lovers probably copping a feel in one of the stalls. You know, the normal stuff. Until she spots something in the corner of her eye.
Matilda: Dre?

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - The Party Pt. 2
Romeo and Harper lock eyes from across the room. They smile. Jackpot. Matilda's plan might actually work after all.
Matilda: Well, don’t just sit there. Go say hello. She won’t bite.
Romeo chuckles. There's a playful glint in his eyes. The same is reflected in Harper's.
Romeo: Alright. Well, wish me luck.
Matilda: Just don’t put your foot in your mouth and you’ll be perfectly fine. Good luck.
So Romeo heads off, pulling Harper over to a proper spot to chat. Matilda, ready to get her full party on and really up the vibes, decides it's time to up the ante.
With the help of a nearby sim, Matilda makes an attempt at a keg stand. Things are going well... until they aren't. Beer sprays everywhere. She crumbles to the floor. Big fail. But it was fun, if not mildly embarrassing, and it did what she wanted to do: up the party vibes. A few sims after her make similar attempts to varying levels of success and failure.
Harper, meanwhile, seems to be getting along well with Romeo. They chat and giggle, seemingly really enjoying talking to one another. Matilda's plan appears to be working splendidly! Maybe Harper will get what she deserves. Matilda tries to not read too much into it, but genuinely she wants her friend to be happy. Anything she can do to help, she always does. Matilda may have a big personality and oftentimes be a bit full of herself, but she really does care about those close to her. She just has more unique ways of showing it at times.
Matilda ends up retreating back to her little corner of the room, enjoying another cup of beer. After the keg stand, she's starting to feel the effects of inebriation. Might as well lean into it more, right? Dorm party rules!
Dandre slips into the seat beside her, happy to get a moment with her himself.
Dandre: Man, this party's getting a little wild!
Matilda: Mhm.
Dandre watches as she downs her drink.
Dandre: You okay there? What number cup is that for you?
Matilda shrugs.
Dandre: Maybe you should slow down.
Matilda: Aww, are you worried about me? That's so sweet.
Dandre: I'm serious, Matilda, maybe you should pace yourself a bit.
Matilda: Oh, come on! It's a partyyyy! I'm having fuuunnnn! Don't be a downer!
Dandre: Matilda--
Matilda: Gosh, stop acting like you're my mom! You're always so serious! It's a college party! Everyone's supposed to get as messed up as they want and make memories they'll look back on in twenty years when their knees are creaking and preteens think their slang is older than the dinosaurs!
Dandre: But Matilda--
Matilda: You're just upset because I won't date you! Admit it!
Dandre grows more embarrassed by Matilda's drunken yelling. It's certainly drawing attention.
Dandre: You're seriously making fun of me for caring about you?
Matilda: You're always wasting all that suaveness on a sim that literally doesn't see you as anything more than a woohoo-buddy! I'm my own woman! I don't need a man telling me what to do or protecting me.
Dandre: Matilda, don't do this.
Matilda: Don't do what? Tell everyone here how much of a hopeless romantic you are? How much you want me to change my mind about being with you? You think I don't see?
Dandre: Matilda, that's totally unfair!
Matilda: You're not denying it, though!
Dandre: Well if you didn't care about me, why am I your exclusive woohoo-buddy, huh?! Even though you flaunt your beauty and use it to your advantage whenever you can, I know I'm the only one who's been with you in that way.
Matilda: You think you're so special? I could be with any sim in this room if I wanted to. You're nice enough, but you're not special, Dre.
There it is. They always say drunk words are sober thoughts. Matilda's true feelings have come spilling out. All the times she ignored his advances, kept him at arm's length, refused to get emotionally close to him... it's because she doesn't actually value what they have together. Even worse, maybe she can't. Dandre has deluded himself the entire time. Usually, guys get a bad rap for doing things like this. With the tables turned, Dandre feels even worse. His ego is shattered. He's mortified.
Dandre: Whatever, Matilda. Just leave me alone.
Matilda: Fine. Go mope somewhere else then. And while you're at it, have a couple drinks! Enjoy the party!
Dandre: I will!
Matilda: Fine!
Dandre: Fine!
When Dandre does finally step away from the conversation, he can't help but let the sadness wash over him. Sure, Matilda's always been very firm on where she stands on their relationship, but he never knew she felt that resentful of him. That's what happens when feelings cloud things. Dandre has learned the hard way.
Matilda feels equally frustrated. All this time, she's always told him that the arrangement was only limited to physical closeness, never emotional. She had always seen the ways he would try to win her over. The ways he'd look at her, try to pick her brain. It made her uncomfortable, but she also enjoyed the physical enough to tolerate it, so long as it didn't progress. With things being so weird between them the past couple of days, this argument was a ticking timebomb waiting to happen. Well, it's all out in the open now. No turning back.
As Matilda suggested, Dandre finds himself drowning his sorrows in some cheap beer that tastes awful, but at least it dulls the pain. His roommate, Nolan, spots him.
Nolan: Oh man, I know that look. That's the look of a heartbroken sim.
Dandre: Matilda let me know how she really feels about me. So yeah, just pondering my life within this cup.
Nolan: Burn. Don't let it get you too down, though. The night's still young! You could have a miraculous comeback. Come on, you stick with me tonight. Maybe we'll manage to make some better memories tonight.
Dandre: Alright, man. Thanks.
Meanwhile, Harper and Romeo seem to be getting along well on the dance floor.
Harper: You're a pretty good dancer!
Romeo: Thanks! You're not bad yourself!
Harper: It's been nice talking to you. I know we never seemed to get much opportunity in the past.
Romeo: Yeah. Always seemed like there was something. But you're really nice, Harper. And might I add, really beautiful.
Harper pauses just slightly. It's a nice compliment, but she sees where this could be heading.
Harper: Romeo, listen...
Romeo: You don't have to finish that. I get it.
Harper: You sure?
Romeo: You're a very nice girl, Harper. Talking to you has been awesome. There's just not quite--
Harper: That spark.
Romeo smiles politely.
Romeo: No hard feelings. We gave it a go.
Harper: We did. I don't regret anything. Do you?
Romeo: Not at all.
Harper: I’d love if we could hang out more though. You know, maybe the entire friend group actually spend some time together. Could be fun.
Romeo: I think so too. Nolan's always trying to get me into his video games. Maybe we can all have a game night at our place.
Harper: I can bring snacks!
Romeo: Sweet! And we'll have plenty of drinks!
Harper: Man, I’m more excited about a game night than any date!
Romeo: Agreed.
Harper: Thanks for being so cool, Romeo.
Romeo: Don’t mention it.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - The Party Pt. 1
The dorm is decorated with lights and streamers, there's plenty of mismatched chairs and pillows to sit on everywhere, games to play, and booze to drink. The time has finally come! Harper is one of the first sims to arrive, helping Matilda out by tapping the keg and making sure the final touches are all in place. Carlos gets there soon after, impressed with how the space looks. Soon, sims start piling in and the DJ makes their appearance as well. But where's Matilda?
You already know she had to make her grand appearance 😎. As sims pile in and seem to be enjoying the good tunes and good booze, Matilda is feeling particularly proud of all her hard work. The night has just begun, but after a stressful semester she's hopeful that the night will definitely be one to remember.
Dandre spots Matilda and immediately makes his way over to her. No way he's not going to see her when she's looking that good.
Matilda: Hmm, looking pretty nice.
Dandre: Just "pretty nice"?
Matilda: Well, you never let me style you. You can dress well enough.
Dandre laughs.
Dandre: Well, you look great. Really pulled out all the stops tonight, huh?
Matilda: Well, I should be the best dressed at my own party. Only fair for the guests.
Dandre: Well, this guest certainly appreciates it.
As the night progresses, sims seem to be getting more relaxed and socializing well. There's good banter, drinks flowing, dancing, and even some smooching going on throughout the dorm. Matilda feels good seeing everyone seem to get into the party spirit.
Matilda: Looking good, Harp! That color really brings out your eyes.
Harper: Oh, this old thing?
Matilda smirks.
Matilda: Learning from the master, I see.
Harper: The perks of being dragged around through the mall with you while you negotiate pretty-discounts with cashiers who can barely keep their tongues from wagging at you.
Matilda: Hey, you're a beaut, too! You should totally use your advantages where you can. Speaking of which, have you talked to Romeo yet?
Harper: Of course, you're back to that. No, can't say I have.
Matilda: I'm only trying to look out for my girl!
Harper: I mean...
Matilda: At least talk to him, yeah? You never know what might happen between you two.
Harper: You're right. Maybe my nerves have gotten in the way of things. I acknowledge that.
Matilda: Then how about this: I go and talk you up to him, and then you seal the deal with your amazing personality. Sound fair?
Harper: Well... okay. Let's try it.
Matilda: Yes! Okay, no pressure. If he ends up being a prick, dump him. But he's cute, so if you can get a little bit of action before then...
Harper laughs nervously.
Harper: I'll signal if there's a problem. How about that?
Matilda: Okay, that works. Anyway, let me go put the gears in motion.
When Romeo relocates to the corner chairs, Matilda swoops in.
Matilda: Hey, Romeo!
Romeo: Oh, hey Matilda. Great party.
Matilda: Glad you're having a good time. Wanted to make sure everyone enjoys themselves.
Romeo: Well you set it up really well. Nice to be able to unwind after a stressful semester.
Matilda: Yeah, it's definitely been a doozy. We all deserve some downtime.
Romeo: Definitely nice seeing everyone get that time.
Matilda: Speaking of which... you remember my friend Harper, right?
Romeo: The girl with the pretty green eyes? Of course.
Matilda smirks.
Matilda: Oh? Sounds like you've noticed her more than once then.
Romeo: She's very cute. Seems nice. Only seen her mostly hanging with you, though. Can't quite recall the last time we got to really talk.
Matilda: Well that could change tonight. Why don't you talk to her?
Romeo: She'd want that?
Matilda: She's open to it. She's more reserved than me, but she's interested in getting to know you better. So don't be scared, just give it a go and see what happens.
Romeo: Alright, think I'll do that then. Thanks, Matilda.
Matilda: Hey, just don't break my friend's heart and I won't have to kill you.
Romeo laughs.
Romeo: Okay. Fair enough. You know, Harper's lucky to have a friend like you.
Matilda: Thanks.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Weird Vibes
Matilda's day continues as a pretty normal college day. She goes to class, grabs a bite to eat, and hunkers down to get some work done. Dandre hangs out with her while she works on homework. She assumes he's working on some important paper, but he's actually just messing around on some video game. He had finished his work earlier but made an excuse to just hang out with her in the same space. They don't talk much while she works, but the company is appreciated.
And after sitting hunched over a table for hours, Matilda makes sure to loosen her body up with some yoga and a little jog on the treadmill at the student center. It leaves her refreshed and feeling better than she has been. It doesn't fix everything though. Matilda's been especially stressed as the semester draws to a close. Not to mention trying to arrange everything for her rager of a party, already set to happen the next day. Did she have enough drinks? Enough chairs? Things to do? She's not quite over the weird feelings between her and Dandre now either. Sure, he hasn't done anything more to coerce or guilt her, but he hasn't done a whole lot of anything else either. She's lucky he even sat with her while she worked. Something's gnawing at her, and she can't quite pinpoint it...
That thought plagues her as she redresses and heads back to her dorm room. She knows there's nothing she can do about it now. She can only wait and see what happens between them. Maybe this is the beginning of the end. Oh well, she surmises. If it is, it is. At least, that's what she tells herself. At any rate, there's no time to dwell on it. She's back to working and studying late into the night. No rest for the elite.
The next day starts off dreary and rainy. This doesn't help Matilda's mood. A shower will surely help, right? It does until she gets shampoo in her eyes. Ouch. Okay, maybe not quite the start of the last day of classes she was expecting.
When Matilda meets up with Harper and Carlos, they also seem to be bogged down by the poor weather, but not quite as much as Matilda.
Matilda: Are we all stressed about finals?
Harper: My presentation is in two hours and I practiced all night. I'm lucky my concealer can cover the bags under my eyes.
Carlos: And I had a final at 8 am today. Worst time to force someone to scrape someone's brain of all the knowledge they tried to pack into it on no sleep.
Matilda: Think you did decent enough?
Carlos: I'm lucky I remembered my own name. Good thing I did the extra credit. Hopefully, the professor curves the grade a bit.
Harper sighs.
Harper: We're a mess.
Carlos: Well, at least we have a super awesome party to look forward to!
Matilda looks up and sees a familiar face walking into the room.
Matilda: Hold that thought. Dre's coming. Quick, change seats!
Carlos: Why?
Matilda: I don't want to sit next to him.
Harper: I thought you guys were cool.
Matilda: C'mon, just please move?
Harper: Alright, alright, come on Carlos.
So Harper and Carlos move seats as requested, leaving a seat diagonally across from Matilda for Dandre to sit.
Harper: Hey, Dre! Happy last-day-of-classes!
Dandre: Hey guys! Definitely feels like it. The poor weather is bringing the whole vibe down.
Carlos: You too? Man, it's the worst!
Matilda: But like you said, tonight we toss all that aside and let loose! The party of the century! Drinks, dancing, debauchery! The only "Ds" allowed!
Harper: I've got the perfect outfit.
Matilda: So do I. And we've got plenty of time to dance the night away after all our classes.
Dandre: Sounds like everything's nearly set up then.
Matilda: I still have to lay out a few things, but yeah, pretty much!
Harper: I'm definitely ready to dance all night!
Carlos: Will you be saving a dance for Romeo?
Carlos wiggles his eyebrows, which makes Harper roll her eyes playfully.
Harper: Meh, maybe. Depends.
Carlos: On what, exactly?
Harper: On whether I feel like it.
The group laughs in unison.
Dandre: In defense of my roommate, he's actually not a bad dancer.
Matilda: Hope that extends beyond the dance floor.
Matilda wiggles her eyebrows this time. Harper blushes slightly.
Harper: We barely know each other!
Matilda: You don't have to! We talked about this, Harp!
Harper: Ah, I just don't know. Not really my thing.
Dandre: Well regardless, he's actually a pretty cool guy. I think you two would get along if you got to chat more.
Harper: I'll think about it. Maybe we can talk during the party, see how things go. But no promises, especially you, Matilda.
Matilda pouts.
Matilda: You're no fun.
Carlos: Who needs all that anyway. Tonight's about partying how we want, so let's paint the dorm red!
Harper: I second that!
Dandre: Let's do it!
Matilda: Alright. Well, fun's over. I need to get ready for class. See you guys at the dorm.
The rest of Matilda's day before the party is stressful. Some students paid her for some last-minute tutoring for one of her classes, and since she had to spend some money on the party she figured earning a little back would be good. She also takes her final exam and is feeling pretty wrung out by the end of it all. To top it all off, one of her roommates somehow locked herself out of the dorm, so she has to rush back to the dorm. The good thing is that she still needs to put the finishing touches on the space for the party, so going straight back works out for her. The bad part: how the heck did her roommate lock herself out of a dorm that uses a rabbithole elevator. Some sim things you just don't understand, and you don't bother trying 😆. With the stresses of the day complete though, Matilda can focus on the fun ahead! She hopes it'll be all she hoped for and more.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Girl Talk
The next day, Matilda makes sure to update Harper on what happened.
Harper: He said that?
Matilda: Yes!
Harper: Gosh… well, what are you going to do?
Matilda: I don’t know. Everything was going great, but now… he just had to go and catch feelings.
Harper: Well, is there any chance…?
Matilda doesn’t actually answer as quickly as expected. There’s ever-so-slightly a pause, a huff of indignation, before she responds.
Matilda: He knew what this was when it started. I’m not looking for anything serious right now. It’s the first time I’ve been on my own and I'm just trying to enjoy it. I’m not looking to change things, and I don’t want to be guilted into it.
Harper: That’s fair, but if there’s any chance you might…
Matilda: Uuuuuuuuuuggghhhh, are you also going to convince me how much of a mistake it is to not be with this guy?
Harper: I just want to be certain you’re certain. I know you had a plan, but things can change, and that’s okay too. And I mean, Dre's a nice guy, you get along well, you admittedly like being with him, so…
Matilda: I’m not obligated to reciprocate his feelings just because we have good banter and the woohoo is decent.
Harper: Matilda—
Matilda: No, I’m sick of everyone having an opinion on this! Dre's cool, we have a good time, and I’m okay with just that. I don’t know if it’ll change in the future. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that I focus on my classes and we throw the ultimate dorm bash. Make memories that’ll burn brighter than any complicated situationship.
Harper sighs. She knows her friend.
Harper: Alright, alright. Well at any rate, I hope things work out, whatever that looks like.
Matilda: We'll see, but enough about me. How’s you and that Romeo guy?
Harper: Romeo? We haven’t talked since the last time we were all over at their place.
Matilda: You have to talk to him at the party!
Harper: Ah, it's really fine. I mean, I’m not sure how much I actually like him.
Matilda: You don’t have to like him like that! Just, do you want to get to know him better?
Matilda wiggles her eyebrows. Harper looks a little nervous.
Harper: I don’t know…
Matilda: Oh, come on! Everybody gets to tease and cajole me about Dre, it's your turn! Maybe getting closer to him might be just what you need. You never know!
Harper laughs.
Harper: I just don’t know if dating's in the card for me, in any capacity.
Matilda: You not feeling him anymore?
Harper: I was never head-over-heels for him. He seems like a cool dude. Just… maybe haven’t found the right sim yet.
Matilda: He doesn’t have to be “the one”, just “the right now”.
Harper: We’ll I’m not even sure if he’s that.
Matilda sighs dramatically.
Matilda: Fiiiiinnneee. Well, keep your options open for the party. You never know.
Harper: I could say the same to you.
Matilda: Shut up.
The two laugh.
Harper: You’re a mess.
Matilda: That’s why you love me.
Harper: Yeah. Something like that.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Matilda’s Date Night
As has become relatively normal in Matilda's routine, Dandre and her meet up at the local pub to hang out. It's a date, but not a date, y'know? At least, that’s how Matilda sees it. Casual.
Matilda: Thanks for letting us borrow those chairs for the party.
Dandre: They were collecting dust in the basement anyway. Might wanna air out those beanbag chairs though. Who knows what they’ve seen last.
Matilda: I’m sure they’ll incur some new stains at the party.
Dandre laughs.
Dandre: So how were classes today?
Matilda: Easy-peasy, as usual. Already nearly done with my final presentation. The beauty of being both beauty and brains.
Dandre: I think I can agree with that.
Matilda notices the glint in his eyes, but chooses to ignore it.
Matilda: Your classes going well?
Dandre: As good as they can. Junior year's no joke. Nice to be able to let off some steam like this.
Matilda: Exactly what I was thinking. You know, just getting away from everything else, and just… be in the moment.
Dandre: Yeah. I like being in the moment with you.
Matilda ignores that comment too.
Matilda: I mean, college’s the first time I feel like I’ve been able to breathe.
Dandre: Rough home life?
Matilda: Not “rough”, but… let’s just say there was always someone around. Not enough to go around in one way or another.
Dandre: You don’t talk about your family much.
Matilda: I mean, it’s nothing that interesting. I lived with my mom, have an older brother from my dad, and a million little brothers from my mom. Dad died when I was a teen, blah blah blah, insert sob story here. There. Now you know.
Dandre: You’re the only girl?
Matilda: Well, Anya and I aren’t blood-related, but I consider her my sister too. Oh, Anya's my brother Robin's older sister. They have the same mom. And Robin's married now, so I consider his wife my sister.
Dandre: Big family.
Matilda: Has its pros and cons.
Dandre: I envy it.
Matilda: Don’t.
Dandre: What’s so bad about envying a sim with family?
Matilda: Because it’s not always what it’s cracked up to be. It’s messy and complicated and… just, be thankful that all you really have to look out for is yourself.
Dandre: I think I’d quite like it. Being part of a family, building my own… what’s not to like?
Matilda: We’ll it’s not something I want. You know, building a family and all. I just want to live my life for myself. Maybe appreciate the ones already here. That sounds like the perfect life to me.
Dandre: So you really don’t imagine settling down one day? Creating a family?
Matilda: I don’t know, should I? Look, this is supposed to be fun. We’re supposed to just be letting off steam. Let’s stop with all the heavy talk, okay?
Dandre: …Yeah. Okay. Wanna head upstairs?
Matilda: Sure.
So the two relocate upstairs to continue the date with a more chill vibe. They choose to do this via a classic game of beer pong. Something to loosen both of them up.
Dandre: Watch this. Eyes closed!
Matilda: Cocky already on the first throw?
Dandre: Just watch the skill!
True to his statement, the ball falls into the first cup with a plop.
Dandre: Hah! And that’s how it’s done.
Matilda: You had magical luck. No way it’s going to be replicated.
Dandre: Just drink up, loser!
Matilda laughs and downs the first drink.
Matilda has her turn, but she fails miserably. Dandre takes his second turn, and like the first one, he sinks it easily into one of her cups.
Dandre: Yes! Eat it! Or, I guess drink it in this case!
Matilda: Ugh, am I going to have to hear you gloat the entire game?
Dandre: Only if you can’t catch up, which, at this rate, might be the case. Now drink!
The game continues. Matilda attempts another throw and fails. Again.
Matilda: Ugh! Why isn't it working?
Dandre: Maybe you'll get it next time. My turn!
Aaaaaaannnnddd he sinks it. AGAIN. Matilda is starting to think the game is rigged (and so am I). Another drink down the hatch. Good thing Matilda's got a high tolerance.
Matilda: I didn't expect to get pummeled this bad. Admit it, you added super strong magnets to the bottom of these cups.
Dandre: Don't need cheap ways to win when I can do it with pure skill.
Matilda rolls her eyes.
Matilda: You're annoying when you're this confident.
Dandre: And yet, it's the quality of you I might like the most. Come on, your throw.
Matilda throws again, but it results in the same outcome as the previous two. No go.
Matilda: Well, just put me out of my misery then. Your throw.
Dandre grabs his ball. He lines up the throw. Deep breath. Focus. For the win. He throws...
And it sinks. Game over.
Dandre: That's all folks!
Matilda: Man... you're seriously good at this! I admit defeat. Beer pong's not my thing.
Dandre: Hey, I could always teach you a thing or two.
Matilda: Nah. I'll let you have this one. If I manage to beat you, I'd probably be too powerful.
Dandre: Fair enough. Come on, let's sit a moment.
The two retire to the couch to enjoy the fireplace and each other.
Dandre: No hard feelings, right? Not gonna put me in the doghouse?
Matilda: I should, but I'll be merciful. Your gloating was next level though.
Dandre: Hey, not often that I'm able to one-up you.
Matilda: The only time you'll be able to do that.
Dandre: Maybe so. What can I say? I have a thing for sims that challenge me to be better.
Matilda: And I do that for you?
Dandre: Among other things...
Matilda: Hmm. Smooth-talker.
Dandre: Just trying to butter you up after that embarrassing defeat.
Matilda: Shut up.
The two can hear the music playing downstairs. Dandre's eyes get a glimmer in them.
Dandre: Let's take this party back downstairs, hm?
Dandre drags Matilda back downstairs, sweeps her into his arms, and they dance in the middle of the pub together.
Dandre: This has been really nice. Perfect middle-of-the-week date.
Matilda: Definitely a needed excursion.
Dandre: I enjoy our dates. I feel like I learn a little bit more about you each time. You're a tough nut to crack.
Matilda: I prefer to keep my cards close to my chest. Easier that way.
Dandre: You could let me take a peek from time to time, though. I'll help you win the game.
Matilda: If the game isn't beer pong. Then you'll annihilate me for sport.
Dandre: Only because I want to show off the one skill I have.
Matilda: You've got other skills. I'm sure of it.
Dandre: Is that your way of giving me a compliment?
Matilda: Don't let it go to your big head.
Dandre: Hey, gotta take them when they come.
The two dance in comfortable silence for a beat. Matilda can tell by the look in Dandre's eyes that something bubbling under the surface. Something she's been trying to avoid this whole time. True connection.
Dandre: Matilda--
Matilda: Listen, Dre, this has been really fun. You're a good guy. And one day you'll make a lucky sim very happy.
Dandre: Just some lucky sim?
Matilda: You agreed to what this is. Let's not make things complicated. I enjoy spending time with you. I enjoy the woohoo. I'm not looking for anything more right now.
Dandre: This your way of friend-zoning me?
Matilda: Friends-with-benefits-zoning you maybe. That is, if after this conversation you still want the benefit part.
Dandre pauses. He notices the way Matilda avoids his gaze. The way she seems to be disassociating from the situation. There's a distance. He knows there's more to it, but he also knows she's not privy to telling him. He makes his decision.
Dandre: Hey, as long as you're not tired of seeing me, I'm happy sticking around. Whatever capacity you allow.
Matilda: You sure? I don't want any lingering feelings messing things up.
Dandre: I'll check my feelings at the door. Cherish what I have with you. Which, right now, is this moment. Letting off steam.
Matilda: I'm glad we're in agreement then. Thanks, Dre.
Dandre: Hey, don't mention it.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - A Week in the Life of Matilda
We're stepping away very briefly from the Legacy Household to see a snippet of what Matilda's college life is like! Matilda has largely not been focused on since she's not the kid of an heir nor lived in the Legacy House at any point, but Matilda is getting a little bit of highlight! Finally, after a life surrounded by her brood of younger brothers (her mother Robin had several more kids, all boys), Matilda has entered college and started her adult life. This has included making good friends like Harper and Carlos, as well as starting a "casual" relationship with a young sim named Dandre.
Matilda's now in her sophomore year and enjoying the experience thoroughly. It's been nice having her own space and she feels like she can finally breathe without all the commotion of her home life. While freshman year was all about getting used to being on her own for the first time, sophomore year is different. No longer the lowest on the totem pole, Matilda intends to showcase herself to the larger school body in the ultimate college way: a huge dorm keg party!
Harper: There you are! Been looking everywhere for you. You gonna study in this little corner all day?
Matilda: Why didn't you just text me?
Harper: You left your phone on DND, as usual. Thankfully your bestie here can track you down. If you ever get kidnapped don't panic, I got you covered.
Matilda: Wow, my hero.
Harper: Well, come on! We reserved one of the study rooms.
Matilda: So how's Operation Banger going on your end?
Carlos: Looks like we'll get a pretty good crowd, guessing by the likes on the Social Bunny post.
Matilda: Sweet. I’ve been busy securing the goods. Dandre's got a good reference for a DJ too.
Carlos: You and Dandre have been getting pretty close.
Matilda: I guess you could call it that.
Carlos: So regularly ending up at his place all night isn’t “getting close”?
Matilda: It's not been a regular thing.
Harper: 2 out of 3 days this week, and it's only Tuesday.
Matilda: Wow, you really are a stalker.
Harper: Your fault for giving me GPS access to your phone.
Matilda: Which is meant for when I’m inevitably kidnapped by aliens for my impeccable good looks.
Harper: That's our Matilda. Never the humble type.
Matilda: Why should I be? I'm gorgeous, smart, and a lady who knows her future. I'm the total package.
Harper: Well Dandre seems to agree.
Matilda: He'd be an idiot not to. Doesn't mean our relationship has to be anything more than what it is now.
Carlos: Buuuuuut, he seems like the type that would want more.
Matilda: He knows this is casual. We talked about it.
Carlos: Did you?
Matilda: I mean, at some point.
Harper: That doesn't sound so certain.
Matilda: Guys, come on! We talked about it! We're having fun. A few dates here and there, just to let off some steam, sneaking up to his bedroom when his roommates are busy, but that's it. Casual. Plus, I don't even know if I like him enough for anything more serious.
Carlos: You kidding? Most girls drool over guys like Dandre.
Matilda: He's easy on the eyes, I guess.
Harper: Very attentive to you, too.
Matilda: He's nice.
Carlos: Just nice?
Matilda: Why are you two grilling me? I said Dandre's a cool guy, we get along, we have a good time. I’m good with that, and so is he.
Harper and Carlos glance at one another, but they don’t press further.
Harper: Well it'll still be nice to see him and his roommates at the party. Especially… what’s his name again?
Matilda: Romeo. He's pretty cute. You should talk to him.
Harper: Pah, I wouldn’t have the nerve. Plus, there’s really no point. Not looking for casualty like you, and he reeks of casualty. Wonder why you didn’t hook up with him instead.
Matilda: Because I met Dandre first. And like we said, girls drool over a guy like Dandre.
Carlos: So you're using him for clout.
Matilda: Did I say that?
Carlos: Just reading between the lines.
Harper: Okay you two, puts the claws away.
The trio laugh.
Harper: At any rate, this party will solidify our place in the university's history! Let's make it count.
Carlos: Hear, hear!
Matilda: Let's do this, guys.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Transitions in Time
The rest of the day for the adults is relatively mundane. Robin and Scarlett head into their office jobs and Sabrina heads into the restaurant. While there, they get an unexpected call.
Sabrina: Hey, Laks! Didn't expect a call from you!
Lakshmi: Hey, Sabrina! Hope I'm not intruding too much. Just wanted to give you a quick call. Are you busy?
Sabrina: Restaurant just opened so no customers yet. I've got some time. How are you and Tabs doing?
Lakshmi: Great, actually! We adopted a cat and things are pretty chill.
Sabrina: Awesome! Yeah, Ziggy's aged up to an adult dog now. Crazy how that little puppy grew so big so quickly.
Lakshmi: I feel like you just sent me those puppy pictures! Goodness, time's really flying. Speaking of which, how's everyone else? You, Juno, Beau?
Sabrina: We're all doing good. Juno's off on his first official day of school with the twins. Sure he's making a bunch of friends.
Lakshmi: That's so amazing! Hard to believe he's gotten so big too. Man... we're far removed from our college days, huh?
Sabrina: Tell me about it. Nyla with her family, me with mine, and you and Tabs!
Lakshmi: Yeah, so much has changed. And Tabatha and I have been thinking, y'know, since we've got this new cat, and our place is small. We've decided to purchase a house.
Sabrina: Oh, wow! That's a huge step, Laks! Congrats!
Lakshmi: Thanks! There's an old mill down in Port Promise that's been gutted and repurposed. Looks really nice. We've been busy getting things set up.
Sabrina: Sweet! Can't wait to see the space. You know, my mom and I found a spot in Grims Quarry that we love. Such a shame, feels like we booted you guys out of that place.
Lakshmi: We saw it on the market too. Lovely spot, but we wanted a little more space.
Sabrina: More space than that?
Lakshmi: Well, we've been living in such a tiny apartment for so long, and with the cat and all... we wanted a place with more breathing room.
Sabrina: I see... well, just let me know when the housewarming is and you know we'll be there!
Lakshmi: Definitely! It may not be for a week or so more. Hopefully, it won't conflict with your mom's move. Oh, and do be sure to invite Alton and his girlfriend too! That man changes phone numbers like underwear. I can never keep up.
Sabrina chuckles.
Sabrina: Can do. Anyone else to add to this growing list of invites?
Lakshmi: Well of course the whole family over at yours is welcome. Marquise too, if he has the time.
Sabrina: Okay, noted. Oh, speaking of Marquise, Beau and I are finally gonna have that dinner with him and Juno over at his place. It's just been so busy with the wedding, all the birthdays, mom's big move, getting Ziggy... we just couldn't figure out a schedule that worked for everyone. We better snag this one before we lose it.
Lakshmi: Oh, finally? Man, he's been talking about wanting to invite you and Beau over for ages.
Sabrina: It's this big mysterious chat he's been hinting at since around Sigrid's Bridal Shower... between you and me, I think he's finally got someone special.
Lakshmi: You think?
Sabrina: Well he hasn't asked for too much advice on the apps lately, and Juno has mentioned how giddy his dad seems to be these days... There's gotta be someone. It's cool, I'll act surprised no matter what. Don't want to let on and ruin his surprise.
Lakshmi: It's nice that you guys have such a healthy relationship. No jealousy and sour feelings. It's definitely rare. You know my past.
Sabrina: That I do. But look at where it brought you: about to move into a fancy house with plenty of breathing room with the love of your life and cat! Sounds like a dream scenario to me!
Lakshmi: That's something I'd have to agree with you on! Thanks for always being there, Bina. You'll let me know how the dinner goes, yeah?
Sabrina: Of course! And you tell me how the move goes! If you need any help just say so!
Lakshmi: I think we've got it. Not too much to move from this tiny place.
Sabrina: Alright. Well, it sounds like service is picking up out there. Better get to it. Talk soon?
Lakshmi: Of course. Bye.
Sabrina: Bye-bye.
Sabrina hangs up and returns back to the task of running a restaurant with a little extra pep in their step. Getting time to chat with their friends, a novelty that gets increasingly harder to do as everyone's lives get busier and busier, is always refreshing. The rest of the workday goes on without a hitch, but it's still quite late by the time Sabrina makes it home. So late that they miss Juno's bedtime.
Sabrina: Hey, Mom. Sorry for being so late tonight. Things got pretty busy at the restaurant today.
Scarlett: No worries, sweetheart. You hungry? I'm meal-prepping for the week.
Sabrina: Starving. The irony of being a chef in your own restaurant is you can't find time to eat.
Scarlett: Well don't worry about having to scarf down a ham sandwich tonight. I'll be done with this shortly. You get settled in some, okay?
Sabrina: Alright. Thanks.
The free moment allows Sabrina to peek in on Juno, who's already fast asleep for the night. They're a little bummed that they didn't get to chat with him about how his first day went but Juno will definitely let them know another time. Sabrina admires the peaceful expression on their kid's face. Soon enough, it'll just be them together. Scarlett will retire away from the legacy home and they'll be a family on their own. Sure, Robin, Sigrid, and the twins will still be here, but it will still be odd to not live under the same roof as Scarlett. Sabrina only ever experienced it during their uni days, and Juno's never experienced it unless you count weekends at his dad's. Sabrina's nervous, but they've prepared themselves for it. They also reflect on how special it's been to have their mother all this time. Their own mother lost her mom as a child, and Kira passed when Sabrina and Robin were only toddlers. Of all the adults in the house, Sabrina is especially lucky.
Sabrina realizes how long they've probably been standing here staring... yeah, kinda creepy. They clean it up by tucking Juno in tight before returning to the kitchen. By that time, Scarlett's done with her dish.
Scarlett: That you? Fish is ready. I'm just preparing some salad. Come take a seat.
While Sabrina digs into their plate, Scarlett and they get a chance to chat.
Scarlett: Juno seemed like he had a good first day.
Sabrina: Did he? I was a little worried.
Scarlett: He seemed to be in good spirits. Audrey was already talking about a project that’s coming up in a few weeks, and Alma was busy being Alma. Juno just sat in between the chaos.
Sabrina: Yeah… Sometimes I worry that he struggles to express himself between two big personalities. He could just be quiet, but… I don’t know.
Scarlett: Things have changed from his toddler days, huh? He was always the one making friends. Alma was the quiet one.
Sabrina: It’s like they sort of flipped. Don’t get me wrong, Alma still definitely enjoys her alone time, but her personality really shines now more than it did in the last.
Scarlett: Part of it is being a sibling of Audrey. Alma's got that competitive spirit… she wants to do well, but Audrey always by her side makes it harder to stand out. Meanwhile, Audrey's oblivious to most of the competition and Juno is just trying to make it through the day.
Sabrina: Three kids under one roof… don’t know how we're gonna manage.
Scarlett: You know your uncle and I had to deal with the same thing.
Sabrina: Well, Anya was so self-efficient since she was older, and Robin and I were pretty chill.
Scarlett: Are you kidding? You each had your own quirks that gave us a run for our money.
Sabrina: Aww come on, we weren’t that bad!
Scarlett: Oh don’t worry, we all go through it. Now’s your turn.
Sabrina: Did you wish this on me?
Scarlett: Never. But life repeats itself…
Scarlett chuckles, which makes Sabrina laugh.
Sabrina: Well, I guess you’re happy to be running off before the teen years.
Scarlett: Teen years are often the hardest, but not always. It was for me, my sister, and Anya… even you to some degree. I’m looking forward to the peace that comes with moving.
Sabrina: You know the kids will always want to be coming over.
Scarlett: I’ll be ready and excited for them to come. And then ready and excited to send them home.
Sabrina and Scarlett laugh again.
Sabrina: Thanks for the love, Mom.
Scarlett: To be fair, my teen years were hard too. Dealing with the loss of my own mother, my sister's pregnancy, and helping her care for Anya... it was hard, and I coped in not-so-great ways myself. Things will change as time progresses, but the good thing is you have such a big support system. Marquise, Beau, your friends, and me of course. That's not something your uncle and I had. My only sister was gone, and neither of us had especially close friends or parents to support us. So lean into your village, and we'll do what we can.
Sabrina: ...Okay. Thanks, Mom.
Scarlett: Don't mention it.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - First Day of School!
The day has finally come! After an eventful summer filled with birthdays and new experiences, Juno, Alma, and Audrey are ready for their first day of elementary school!
The adults are prepping for the day like any other day, minus a few special treats, but Alma takes this momentous day very seriously. She's the first kid up, dressed, and ready to go. She makes sure to head straight downstairs, wanting to check her bookbag and make sure she gets a hearty breakfast for such a big day ahead.
Robin: Well, well, well, look who's already all ready for school! Putting even your old man to shame.
Alma: Well this is just a normal day for you. This is a big day for me! Stepping into the world for the first time is no small thing!
Robin: "Stepping into the world", huh?
Alma: Of course! Elementary school is the first time a sim enters such a large social circle. This is my opportunity to establish myself and create the building blocks for the rest of my life!
Robin: Hmm, well when you put it like that... guess I better get myself in gear. Can't send my girls off into the world looking like I just rolled out of bed!
Scarlett: And can't send them off with empty stomachs, either! Audrey, go get your sister and cousin so you can have breakfast!
Scarlett has made a special breakfast for such a special day.
Alma: Bacon on cupcakes for breakfast? Man, this is awesome!
Scarlett: Well I had to send you off the best way I knew how! It's an important day!
Juno: Thanks, Grandma! These are the best!
Audrey: Yeah, thanks, Auntie Scarlett!
Scarlett: You're very welcome.
Audrey: This day is going to be amazing!
Alma: Amazing? It's just school. The shininess will wear off by the end of the week.
Audrey: Aww come on, Alms! You're not excited at all?
Alma: I'm excited to meet the other kids and go to recess. I heard the rabbithole pop-ups can be eventful from time to time too. But we've got other fish to fry. Scouts will be starting soon!
Audrey: Yeah, I'm pretty excited for it, too. Just imagine, all three of us working on badges together and helping each other with school projects. Man, this is gonna be awesome.
Juno doesn't say much; he's just enjoying the moment and mulling over the decision he has yet to announce to the twins. For now, he just wants to make it through the first day of school.
After breakfast, getting dressed, and making sure everyone's bags are packed, the family steps outside to take some obligatory photos to commemorate the day.
Sigrid: Alright, you three! Say "sh-shooby"!
The kids: Sh-shoobyyyy!!!
After Sigrid makes sure no one's eyes are closed in the photo, the adults give their final hugs and kisses for the day.
Robin: You have a great day today, sweetpea.
Alma: Thanks, Dad.
Sigrid: Knock 'em dead, Junebug!
Juno: You got it!
Sigrid: Have a good day, Auds. You're gonna do great.
Audrey: Don't worry, I got this.
Sigrid: I know you do.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Growing and Learning
Robin finds Alma situated underneath a tree, looking over her homework. She's drifted off a little further than allowed, but seeing her confidently look over her brings a smile to Robin's face that erases any other lecture he might've given her.
Robin: Well well, look what we've got here!
Alma: Just finishing up some problems. No big deal.
Robin: Have you finished all your work?
Alma: Just about!
Robin: Wow! That's awesome, sweetie! You didn't even need any help!
Alma: Help with this stuff? Pah, please. A baby could do this in their sleep.
Audrey: Now that you're finished, we can enjoy the rest of the day together!
Robin: Speaking of which, Auntie Scarlett sent me a message to find her at the other end of the park. Said there's something there to check out.
When the trio arrives, they see a public treehouse with Aunt Scarlett sitting at one of the empty picnic tables. The girls' eyes light up; this treehouse has many more upgrades than theirs, and it's amazing to see.
Audrey: Whoa, Dad, look at this! It's got a whole slide and everything!
Alma: This is so cool! Can we go in?
Robin: Sure. Knock yourselves out.
Audrey ends up climbing up the slide while Alma takes the conventional way up. The moment she gets to the top, she spots another addition to the treehouse and bolts straight there.
Alma: Whoa! It's even got a bell!
Robin: Audrey, be careful!
Alma rings the bell enthusiastically, much to every living creature within 30 feet's torture.
Robin: Alma, that's enough!
Alma: What?!
Robin: I said that's enough!
Alma: This is so cool! Can we get a bell for our treehouse?
Robin: I think your mother would kill me.
Audrey: Can we at least get a slide?
Robin: Let's discuss that later.
Robin lets the girls have a little playtime in the treehouse while he chats with Scarlett, and then the four of them sit down for a meal before packing their things and heading home.
When they get back, Alma makes it a point to show off her work and have her mother "assist" with the last bits of the work. Sigrid is impressed at her aptitude, especially considering Audrey's concerns the day before.
Sigrid makes sure to give her little girl a big hug afterward.
Sigrid: I'm very impressed with you, Alma! You managed all that work very well.
Alma: It's easy, Mom! This school thing is gonna be a piece of cake. Just watch.
Sigrid: Well I hope that's the case for you and your sister. You know Dad and I are always here if you ever need help with anything though, okay?
Alma: Okay.
Sigrid: Well, make sure to get plenty of rest tonight. No chit-chatting with your sister late into the night, you hear me?
Alma: Yes, ma'am.
And that night, everyone makes sure to get a full night's rest to be ready for the big day.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Sunday Funday
It's officially Sunday morning and the first day of fall, even though it doesn't feel like it quite yet. But with that, it means it's also the last day before the twins and Juno start school! Juno's enjoying the weekend with his father still, and Sabrina is over at Beau's place, but the rest of the family plans to spend the day together. But first, another bath for a stinky, smelly Ziggy, much to Sigrid's irritation.
Once Ziggy is clean, the family decide to make a visit to Willow Creek Park. Sigrid focuses on wearing Ziggy out with a long walk, Scarlett finds a quiet bench to knit, and Audrey tries her hand at bicycle riding again. This time, her dad is here to give encouragement and advice, but it doesn't decrease her frustrations.
Robin: Alright, Auds, just take it slow and steady, okay?
Audrey: Ugh, why is this so hard?!
Robin: Don't lose your patience. Any skill takes time to build. You've been putting in the work, you'll get it eventually.
Audrey: But I have to learn before Juno gets back!
Robin: No you don't. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. You'll learn on your own timeline. For now, we keep trying. Okay?
Audrey: Ugh... okay.
Robin: Alright. Now make sure to find the proper balance. Let's give it another go.
Where's Alma, you ask? She got permission from her dad to wander off a little farther.
Robin: Not too far, okay missy?
Alma: Yes, sir!
She wanders to the back of the main building, finding a very interesting sight.
Alma: Hmm, what's this? A well?
Alma: Well, only right I make a wish! Hmm...
Alma gives a good thought to what she wants before finally making her decision.
Alma: Okay, magic wishing well. I wish for better grades. That way I can prove to my parents and Audrey that I'm just as smart as her, if not more! Oh, and here's a coin for payment. Sound good? Now do your magic... stuff.
She watches the coin slip down into the well and waits. The coin makes contact, and Alma swears she can hear a bubbling sound coming from the well. She peers in further.
Suddenly, a bright light appears from the well.
Alma: Huh? Is it really working?
She watches in excitement as the light expands and brightens.
Suddenly, there's a bright explosion before everything dissipates again. Alma is left standing there, not exactly sure what just happened but feeling a little luckier.
Alma: Well... guess that's that. Wonder how I know if it worked...
Meanwhile, Robin and Audrey continue working on her biking skill, and when Sigrid isn't looking Ziggy finds a conveniently created puddle to undo all of Sigrid's hard work earlier in the day. It's so shocking that even Mrs. Crumblebottom clutches her pearls.
Sigrid: ZIGGY!!!!
The yell makes Ziggy stop and look over at her.
Sigrid: Bad boy! No playing in puddles! I can't keep constantly bathing you because you refuse to listen! You're going to make me lose my mind!
Sigrid is just venting at this point, but Ziggy seems to get it nonetheless. He learns that maybe his puddle-playing days are over. With that, he gives the saddest little pout and whine to Sigrid, trying to express his remorse. Sigrid sighs. Even though she's frustrated beyond a shadow of a doubt, she can only be but so mad at that face. Curse Ziggy's cute little puppy-dog eyes.
Sigrid: Alright buddy. If you've learned your lesson, I can forgive you. Sound fair?
Ziggy's ears perk back up, and he moves closer for reassurance. Sigrid obliges, kneeling down to give him a scratch.
Sigrid: Okay. Ew, you're still wet...
Sigrid sighs and considers what to do next. She supposes she could just deal with it for the rest of the day, but returning home exhausted and then having to wash Ziggy up before bed does not sound ideal. Not to mention she has to check the girls' work, get them all set for school tomorrow, see about signing them up for scouts...
Sigrid: Well Ziggy, seems like you've spoiled your day out. We're going straight home after a chat with Papa.
Robin: That's it, Auds! Feel the breeze in your hair and the sun on your face and forget that you're even riding in the first place! That's what makes riding fun!
Robin finally notices Sigrid walking up behind him.
Robin: Oh, hi honey. Wha- oh boy.
Sigrid: Tell me about it.
It's Robin's turn to sigh this time.
Robin: Naughty little thing, hmm?
Sigrid: I just washed him this morning too. I swear, it feels like all I ever do is chase this dog around. "Don't do this, don't eat that, don't play with this." I'm losing my mind.
Robin: The growing pains of raising a dog. It won't always be like this.
Sigrid: I know. Just reminding me to recall the hard parts of infancy and toddlerhood for the girls, too. Erases any baby fever creeping up on me instantly.
Robin: Okay, I get the picture. Well, at any rate, I'm sure you gave him a stern talking-to.
Sigrid: I think he's learned his lesson this time. At any rate, I'm gonna take him home.
Robin: Really?
Sigrid: Yeah, just better that I take care of this now rather than later. You've got the girls?
Robin: Of course. Auds and I are still busy with our lesson, and Alma is close by. I saw her walk off behind the main building.
Sigrid: Alright. Well, see you all at home.
Robin: See you at home, honey.
Robin makes sure to give her a kiss before she and Ziggy are off.
Audrey ends up getting off the bike shortly after.
Audrey: Okay, I think I'm done for the day.
Robin: Great work, babygirl! You're really starting to get the hang of things.
Audrey: I don't feel like it. Riding a bike is a lot harder than I thought.
Robin: It may be hard now, but one day you'll be riding circles all around me without even thinking about it. And when that day comes, you won't even remember how hard it feels now. You'll just be happy with your newfound freedom. Just imagine it! You'll be able to ride all over the neighborhood after school, and you'll probably end up being the first of your three kids to learn, so you can help the others too! I'm sure Juno would love to hear some pointers from you in exchange for using his bike.
Audrey kicks at the dirt and sighs dramatically.
Audrey: I guess...
Robin: Don't give up, Auds. I'm here to help you through it all. You'll get it eventually, and we'll make sure to celebrate big when that day comes. Okay?
Audrey perks up a little.
Audrey: Okay.
Robin: Good. Now, let's go find your sister.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Saturday Night Studies
While the adults are out on their date, Alma and Audrey are having a different kind of Saturday night.
Audrey is hard at work on her presentation for the first day of school. It's a simple book report just to introduce the kids to each other and get to know everyone, but Audrey takes it very seriously. She even asks Auntie Scarlett to use her desk in order to fully concentrate.
Of course, that doesn't stop her sister from making an entrance.
Alma: Hey, Auds! What are you doing in here?
Audrey: Just finishing up my homework. That way I can enjoy Sunday stress-free! It's the last day before school starts, after all!
Alma: Ah, school schmool. It's just a rabbithole. How hard could it be?
Audrey: Well I still want to be prepared. How far have you gotten with your work?
Alma: It's coming along.
Audrey: Is it? You know Mom's gonna check it tomorrow.
Alma: I'll get it done! You doubt me?
Audrey: I doubt you'll concentrate long enough to finish it.
Alma: Dang! You could've at least lied a little!
The two laugh.
Audrey: Just don't put it off. You know Mom won't be happy if you do.
Alma: Sis, you really overreact! This homework is a piece of cake! I can get it done in my sleep.
Audrey: So you say.
Alma: I mean it! I'll go get some done right now!
Audrey: Well, go find somewhere else to work so I don't have to hear the cogs in your head turning.
Alma: Ha ha.
Audrey: Good luck!
Alma does indeed find a quiet spot to try her hand at the work.
Alma: Okay, let's see what's this all about. Eight of Grim's pets aren’t cowplants, five aren’t crows, and seven aren’t axolotls. How many pets does he have? Hmm...
The moments tick by. More. And more. The words seem to all mush themselves on the page. Alma does really try to work through it.
Alma: Maybe if... no. Oh, what if.... no.
The longer she sits there staring at it, the harder it seems to be to understand.
Alma: I need a break.
And there's a perfect companion to enjoy a break with.
Alma: Okay, buddy. Let's try to teach you some skills, yeah? Now, sit.
Ziggy, surprisingly, responds to the command on the first try.
Alma: Wha- that worked?! Alright, Ziggy! You might just be the smartest dog on the planet! Now let's see if you can do it again, yeah?
After some time, Audrey successfully finishes her own work. She feels really confident about herself and looking forward to enjoying the rest of her weekend the way she wants to. Of course, she can only imagine what her sister's progress looks like. Still, she has to know for herself.
Audrey: This doesn't look like doing your homework.
Alma: I'm taking a break. Ziggy's doing some learning right now. Show her boy! Sit!
Again, Ziggy does manage to obey the command.
Alma: See? He's a genius! Just wait until I can get him jumping through hoops! Maybe we can start a circus!
Audrey: There's no circus DLCs. Did you read too much about the Sims 1?
Alma: Aww, come on, Auds! Have a little imagination!
Audrey: I do! It's what helped me finish my book report!
Alma: Ugh, did you come down here just to annoy me?
Audrey: Alma, if you need help I can give you a hand. It's no problem.
Alma: I don't need help! I'm just... taking a break. I'll get it done.
Audrey: If Mom finds out--
Alma: Mom won't find out unless you tell her. You gonna be a tattletale?
Audrey sighs. For as much bickering as they do, it's obvious that Audrey cares for her sister deeply. She doesn't want her to fall behind and she doesn't want her to get in trouble. Alma loves Audrey too, she just expresses that love differently.
Alma: I'm gonna keep working with Ziggy. Come on boy, let's do it again, kay?
Audrey doesn't say anything more. After a while, she hears the front door unlock and soft chatter. Sigrid and Robin are back from their date.
Robin: Man, what a night, huh?
Sigrid: Definitely. Bed is callin' me, for sure.
Robin: Let's go see what the girls are up to first.
Audrey greets them.
Robin: Well, hey there missy! Were you waiting up for us?
Audrey: I heard you coming in.
Sigrid: It's a little past your bedtime, but since it's your last night before an official school night I'll let you bend the rules a bit.
Robin: Good to see you, sweetpea. Missed you.
Sigrid: So how was your evening?
Audrey: I finished my book report.
Sigrid: You did? Wonderful! I'll be sure to check it out tomorrow, okay? I'm sure it's wonderful.
Audrey: I worked really hard on it. I think it turned out well.
Robin: That's awesome, honey. Where's your sister?
Audrey: Um, she's training Ziggy.
Robin: Training?
Audrey: Teaching him how to sit.
Sigrid: Wow! How's that coming?
Audrey: She got him to do it a couple times.
Robin: So awesome to hear. Now you girls can start splitting up the chores for him. Walking him, cleaning up after him, filling his food bowl...
Sigrid: Well that's a chat for another day. For now, it's late, and it's up to bed with you.
Audrey can't hold it in.
Audrey: Mom, Dad... I think Alma's having some trouble with her work.
Robin: Oh?
Audrey: Yeah, and she won't let me help her. She didn't me to tell you, but I don't want her to fall behind, and she keeps saying she's going to finish it, and--
Sigrid: Okay.
Robin and Audrey: Okay?
Sigrid: She has one more day to work on it. We'll discuss it. Don't worry, Auds.
Audrey: Okay... just don't tell her I told you, okay?
Sigrid: Of course, honey. Now, bedtime.
After getting the kids into bed, the two adults retire to their bedroom.
Robin: Ah... well, that was interesting.
Sigrid: Tell me about it.
Robin: Are we really not going to talk to Alma about her homework?
Sigrid: We will. I just want to give her a little more time. If she's not done by the afternoon, we'll step in.
Robin: You sure?
Sigrid: It sounds like she's begun. I want her to have the freedom to get it done on her own timeline until it's obvious she needs the extra support. I don't want her to feel embarrassed. She's so proud. She won't ask for help easily.
Robin: That is very true.
Sigrid: Let's not worry just yet. At any rate, I want to enjoy the rest of our night off as much as possible.
Robin: Right. Speaking of which...
Robin pulls the classic move. Sigrid seems to be into it.
Sigrid: Ah, just what I needed.
Robin: I really did have fun with you today.
Sigrid: Same. You looked good behind that turntable.
Robin: I always forget how much you admire my creative side.
Sigrid: You're the talent between the two of us. I'm sure I sounded like a screaming banshee during karaoke.
Robin: Aww, come on, you weren't that bad.
Sigrid: You're in love with me. I don't trust your judgment.
Robin laughs.
Robin: Shouldn't you trust my judgment more since I'm in love with you?
Sigrid: So you're not lying to me?
Robin opens his mouth, but he can't get himself to say it. Sigrid laughs.
Sigrid: Figures.
Robin: I still love you, even if you can't sing.
Sigrid: Gee. Thanks.
Robin: I can't believe Sabrina and Beau just ditched us like that, though.
Sigrid: I can. They're so in love, Juno's at his dad's, and Beau's got his own apartment. Perfect recipe for a salacious sleepover.
Robin: What a concept. I like how our night's going.
Sigrid: So do I. Can't wait to slip into bed, hold hands, and knock out. I'm exhausted.
Robin: So am I.
Sigrid: I love you. I love this life. Just being a simple, married couple, taking care of our girls. There's no place I'd rather be than right here.
Robin: I feel the same way.
Sigrid: Good. Now let's get changed and go to bed.
Robin: Yes ma'am. But first, a quick goodnight kiss?
Sigrid: I think I can manage that.

Sims 4 Fontenot Legacy - Saturday Night Fever
With Juno at his dad's and time dwindling down for Robin and Sigrid to have a live-in babysitter, Sabrina, Beau, Robin, and Sigrid have a little double-date moment. They go to the local karaoke spot which is kinda dead since they got there around 7, but they make the best of it!
Beau: It's so nice that all four of us get some time out together! Next time we have to bring the gang.
Sabrina: For sure! Hard to get everyone together with differing schedules, plus Nyla and Alex not always able to get a babysitter for Roddy. We luck out since Marquise and I aren't together.
Beau: Well I'm sure Juno is having even more fun than us four tonight.
Sabrina: Pfft, you think?
Beau: Oh yeah! Two bachelors in an apartment all by themselves? Perfect recipe for the ultimate rager!
Sabrina: The only rager Juno better be participating in is getting chocolate wasted on some ice cream, beating his father in Don't Wake the Llama, and getting in bed by 9.
Beau: Aww, no late nights on a weekend?
Sabrina: Gotta get him used to a proper sleep schedule before school starts.
Beau: Guess that's why you're the parent and not me.
After watching a few performances of varying levels of skill, the couples try their hand at belting out a few tunes. First up: Robin and Sigrid!
Fun fact: While Robin is a fairly decent singer, Sigrid can't hold a tune to save her life. 😅 They had fun though, and that's what matters.
Next up was Beau and Sabrina. If you thought Sigrid was bad, you should have heard these two together. Poor Sabrina did not inherit their mother's musical talent. 🤣 The best part was truly how much they committed to the whole thing, and they were in perfect sync with each other.
Sabrina: Whew! Man, that was actually really fun.
Beau: I know right? We were electric. Then again, you're always the best partner, so of course we'd kill it.
Sabrina: Ditto. Best team ever!
Meanwhile...
Sigrid: Having fun?
Robin stuffs his mouth with complimentary bread.
Robin: Hmm? Oh yeah, it's great!
Sigrid laughs.
Sigrid: Hey, I heard there's a DJ table upstairs. Why don't you give us a little performance?
Robin: A performance? I mean, it's been a while since I even practiced...
Sigrid: Aww, come on! For old-time's sake? Who knows when we'll get another free evening like this again.
Robin: Well...
It doesn't take long for Robin to agree and get behind the table, starting up the tunes like he last performed yesterday. It's a small crowd, but Sigrid is his biggest fan anyway, and she's all he cares about.
Sigrid isn't the only one smitten with their man though...
Sabrina: Well, this has been nice, hasn't it?
Beau: It has. I always like our weekend dates.
Sabrina: Me too. Living in different towns, busy between your job and my restaurant, being able to meet up like this is nice.
Beau: It won't always be like this. One day, we'll be under the same roof. You'll be making Juno and I try all your new recipes for the restaurant while I demolish him in Blicblock.
Sabrina: That does sound pretty nice. Just as long as you also make sure he finishes his homework before playtime.
Beau: Oh, of course. I'm the best teacher. He'll never have trouble with me around.
Sabrina: You're a good influence on him. He really does look up to you. He thinks you're the coolest, next to his dad.
Beau: That's good to hear. I care about him. I also really care about his super awesome parent.
Sabrina: Oh do you?
Beau: Yeah. They're kind of the love of my life. No big deal.
Sabrina Those are some strong words.
Beau: Well these are some strong feelings.
Sabrina: Well, I have some pretty strong feelings of my own. Maybe we should express these feelings, in private.
Beau: Think we can slip away from Robin and Sigrid?
Sabrina: Oh, that old married couple? Their bedtime is earlier than Juno's these days. I'm sure they won't mind.
Beau laughs.
Beau: I'm gonna tell Robin you said that.
Sabrina: Not if you want to get lucky.
The two say their goodbyes to Sigrid and Robin and slip off to Beau's place. They never make it past the living room. Even after all these years, their passion for each other is just as strong as it was in college. They just have to navigate living in different towns and worrying about bedtimes. Sabrina may have been giving Robin and Sigrid shit, but they're just as in love with their partner as they are.
