Since a lot of y’all have been asking about my Strawberry Acres save I have decided to make it public again.

I however won’t be answering questions or fix any remaining issues. I’m working on a new world, so this won’t be a priority anymore! :)

my current household’s sim got pregnant far younger than she should have and popped out a baby, and since my sim is rich and famous and the best dad ever, he decided to set the kid & grandkid up and build a lil house right next to his :) yay hale lore!

this is 2 individual houses on a single lot; the house on the left is the original harewood, and the house on the right is a new addition and the house featured in these screenshots. the new house is a small two bedroom house decorated with a master bedroom and a toddler bedroom. it is tiny but it does the job and could also work later down the line when said famous father is an old man and his daughter takes over the big family home and boots him into the small one, only time will tell.

When I took on this challenge from @joshttew, the first thing that came to mind was a towering building with glass everywhere. But the game’s height limit made it incredibly challenging. So much so that I gave up—at least for a while—because nothing I tried fully solved the problem or matched the vision I had in my head.

This week, though, I decided to give it another go, and… LOOK AT THIS BEAUTY! Isn’t it absolutely stunning?! I’m beyond proud of how this build turned out. 😭

For those curious about the technical details, here’s how I made it work: the building actually has only 5 floors (not counting the garage), but thanks to this amazing tutorial, I was able to make it look much taller. Since windows can’t be placed on walls altered this way, I picked a wallpaper that mimics the appearance of windows. In other words, the whole thing is just an illusion!

This game can be incredibly frustrating at times, but with a little creativity and a lot of patience, you can achieve some truly amazing results.

Cuando acepté este reto de @joshttew, lo primero que me vino a la mente fue esto: un edificio súper alto con cristal por todas partes. Pero el límite de altura del juego me lo puso increíblemente difícil. Tanto, que terminé rindiéndome… al menos por un tiempo, porque nada de lo que probaba solucionaba el problema por completo o encajaba con la visión que tenía en mi cabeza.

Sin embargo, esta semana decidí intentarlo de nuevo y… ¡MIRAD ESTA MARAVILLA! ¿No es absolutamente increíble? Ay, estoy muy orgullosa de esta construcción. 😭

Para aquellos que tengan curiosidad por los detalles técnicos, os cuento cómo lo hice: el edificio en realidad solo tiene 5 pisos (sin contar el garaje), pero gracias a este maravilloso tutorial, conseguí que pareciera mucho más alto. Como no se pueden colocar ventanas en las paredes que se alteran de esta manera, usé un papel de pared que las imita bastante bien. En resumen: ¡todo es una ilusión!

Este juego puede llegar a ser jodidamente frustrante a veces, pero con un poco de creatividad y mucha paciencia, se pueden lograr cosas realmente impresionantes.

As i mentioned earlier, work on my Eastern European-inspired town is now complete, and it’s ready for download and for play.

A few important notes:

To install the town, you’ll need all The Sims 3 expansion and stuff packs.

No Store content is required.

All necessary custom content (CC) is included in the archive.

as I’ve been building in sunset valley recently, I’ve been trying super hard for my builds to be cc free whilst still being unique (easier said then done ngl). But this little beach front house has a garage and parking space underneath 🌞

Luxury Horse Barn

One of my sims started breeding horses and needed proper facilities. So I built her a barn that ticks all the boxes!

Amenities:

stables for 8 horses

indoor and outdoor riding arena

pasture

living accommodations for the family (2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms)

groom accommodations (1 bedroom/1 bathroom)

There are 3 Versions:

One uses the box stalls that came with the Pets expansion, and the other two use DIY box stalls made with fences and gates. If you don't know how to use the DIY stalls and you're curious, let me know and I'll make a tutorial.

Things to note:

I had @ohrudi's "Pets need less space" mod installed when I was play-testing. I think the lot will still work without it, but I have not play-tested it without the mod, besides: you will find playing with horses way more enjoyable with this mod!

If you direct your sim to jump the course while the sim is already in the outdoor arena, you will get a routing error. The jumping course works best if you position the rider and the horse outside of it (I marked the area in the screenshot below) and then direct your sim from there to jump the course. The sim will then gallop into the arena and start jumping the course.

And the Lusitano Template from Daruma Fields found here.

The exterior was inspired by the lot "Moonlight Stables" by Rocket Jane. I really liked the look of this lot, but I wanted more stables, an indoor riding arena and a bigger pasture. So I had to build my own.
