Updated Resource List: UI Edition (Updated 11/10/24)

This is all the mods in my downloads folder that changes the game UI and makes it look better on modern display, removes annoyances etc. My old resource list only listed 3 which have since been replaced.

I play on a 2k monitor with the game set to 1080p with the default UI because I like the nostalgic look.

If you use cleanUI by @greatcheesecakepersona, then many of the widescreen fixes are already included! Many of these also have an alternative version made for cleanUI.

Loading screen replacement:

UC loading screen by @eddysims replace the Fun With Pets logo and removes idle M&G sims on select menu (I use an older version to match the Super Collection for mac, but have combined with this to remove the idle sims).

UC startup strings by @simsllama replace the M&G text strings while loading to fit Ultimate Collection.

M&G to UC program name replacement (MTS) changes the program name to say Ultimate Collection on taskbar, when closing the game and in credits. I use the old original Sims 2 icon in start menu.

Removed or disabled buttons:

No delete button in Sim Bin by Chris Hatch avoid accidentially deleting a family in the neighborhood.

No delete button in Buy/Build mode by Chris Hatch. I prefer to delete cc in the downloads folder instead.

Edited No useless town buttons by ePSYlord. Removes the AL, FT and Pets buttons from upper select menu in hood view. It also disables Custom Content Browser button to the old sims2 webpage, the camera and video buttons which I never use but always accidentially click.

Removed Auto Login button by ePSYlord. Removes the redundant option in settings.

No delete button in CAS, edited More Columns in CAS by ePSYlord. This is an edit of Chris Hatch's ui mod (cas300Extra) that adds the columns while also removing delete button from all categories. I had difficulty getting it to work for me, but managed after changing load order and removing specific cc hairs.

Remove hood popup dialog box reoploaded on MATY. No more nagging to add subhoods when entering a neighborhood.

Visual annoyances begone:

No CC icon in CAS (MTS) hides the star on custom content.

No pause frame by @simnopke removes the red frame from live, buy and build mode.

Add store icon to CAS by @jawusa. Restore the TS2 Store Edition icon on store content which can all be found here.

Widescreen fixes:

Wider change appearance by Chris Hatch.

Wider buy/plan outfits by Chris Hatch.

Wider family tree by SixAM!

Wider design tool by @lamare-sims.

Wider collections by Chris Hatch.

Menu fixes or addons:

Subhood selection by Mootilda changes menu from big button to list of selections instead. Useful if playing with multiple subhoods.

Select your cemetery (MTS) adds dialog box to move tombstones if all sims on a lot die.

Baby Last Name Chooser by @midgethetree adds dialog box to choose a baby's last name when born.

Marriage Last Name Chooser (MTS) adds dialog box to choose last name after sims gets married.

Misc. UI changes:

Clearer need bars by simnopke. It just looks nicer.

Season icons in color (MTS). Replace the blue with colorful icons.

LTW icons fixed by Lamare. Resizes the Life Time Wants icons to be consistent.

I think that was everything concerning the user interface in my game. A lot more than anticipated and most added in the last year or so. My game looks so nice now!

Thank you so much! Well recently, I've been watching @plumzet and @plumloup because they play 100% vanilla and that helped me feel better about going back. Normally I watch OLD YouTube let's plays. Sims 2/3 included. All the OG Simmers like DeeSims, xUrbanSimsx, Deligracy, Fantayzia, SpringsSims, etc. I really enjoy Keeyuh as well, she's hilarious, real and plays Sims 2!

Those are the ones I came up watching and I find the game play and editing super nostalgic and pleasant to watch. Things aren't perfect, mic's sound like crap, graphics aren't great - but there's a genuine enthusiasm with the bare minimum packs that I enjoy watching LOL.

As far as inspiration, I pull that from everywhere. Even non-sim videos. Series on Netflix, real life stories, etc. Tumblr has always been my biggest form of inspiration because everyone is so insanely unique you can't help but be authentic here. I started here and it's always been my biggest inspo. It fuels my motivation to keep pouring my love into this game.

My main thoughts are: were they actually believing they’d still film stuff together? (They mentioned baking, mukbang, consistent Dan videos, etc?) Or were they just saying that to keep people from freaking out all at once? I mean later (mukbang 2) dan says that was supposed to be the end, like Dan wanted to kill Dil. Was Dan saying that they’d still do vids together for the audience’s sake? For Phil’s? Or both? Was it that Phil thought maybe they could but Dan knew they were done? Or did they both know and just wanted to leave the audience with hope?

Hmmm there's a lot, I really struggle with choosing favorites.

But some of the games I really like and often return to (be it playing them or just resurfaced interest):

The Sims 2 - sometimes 4 as well but 2 is super nostalgic for me

Zoo Tycoon 2 - still the best zoo game in my opinion

Jurassic Park Operation Genesis - kind of weak as a game itself but it brings me so much comfort and I love how atmospheric it is

Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West - looove both games, they really scratch my brain in all the right places. The second one might be my favorite of the two, if only because of the incredible soundtrack

Stardew Valley - gods I put so many hours into this game. It's so relaxing and I love all the characters

Hollow Knight - not surprising. I might not really be in the fandom anymore but the game's still incredible and I want to do a new playthrough sometime

Rayman 2 and 3 - I love the newer Rayman games as well but those two will always have a special place in my heart

Assassin's Creed 2 and Unity - the whole series is that really scratched the itch for me, I even enjoyed the newer ones to large extents, but these two are my favorites. 2 is just overall super nostalgic, Unity, despite its buggy launch, was peak modern AC to me and I even named one of my cats after its protagonists lol

There's definitely more if I sit down and think about it more but here are some of them.

Sunset Valley - again

Like many of you, I've been following @greenplumbboblover's Sunset Valley Chronicles - or whatever she's named it. (Old-timers' disease!). Which made me nostalgic for SV - probably my favorite town to play. And while I've been playing, I've been re-doing the lots. Because I can!

I moved the family in that multi-colored, hot mess of a house into this one. This was a remake of theirs that was done a gazillion years ago by @lilymayrose. You can see the original over on her blog - which is still active. Or at least up. (Lily's Sim Antics (lilyssimantics.blogspot.com).

Anyway, I did make changes - mostly to the outdoor landscaping. The original had a swimming pool in the backyard and since I have 3 pools in this frammin town, unless you are super rich like the Landgraabs, Altos, or Goths, I expect my lazy sims to use the public facilities. But back to my changes. I resurfaced the driveway and added that spot where the trashcan and bicycles are. Then I resurfaced the sidewalks, moved flowerbeds, and gave them a hot tub. (I'm not entirely mean!)

I didn't do a whole lot to the inside - because I liked her version. Maybe switched out some rugs and got rid of all the toddler junk - because I aged the rugrat up.

Anyway, here's the family - the Single Moms. Fiona has finally come out-of-the-closet and is currently trying her darndest to convince Molly that they should be exclusive. (Their lifetime relationship is around 41 - even though they are supposedly "girlfriends.") I'm guessing, hating your beloved's cookie-cruncher is not the way to endear yourself to the object of one's affections. River - the teen - just wants the 2 of them to keep it in the bedroom. (Fiona is big on public displays of her amorous desires). While the youngest - I forget her name - is just happy to not be living in a shelter. BTW, in my town, she is the product of a drunken one-night-stand that Molly had with that Alvi sim. (The reason his wife bailed on him). Right now, she doesn't know who her dad is.

Then I hopped next door and did a tiny make-over of Jaime's house. I basically tried to keep it as horrible as EA had designed it. I did get rid of their carport and made a new one - sort of an arbor thingie. Then - because the description says this is an Asian-Tudor mix, I added that new siding on the gables after re-doing the roof a tad. I also got rid of that extra front door and replaced all the windows and doors using B5Studios' Grant Park set.

Inside, I left all the wall finishes the way they were. Except for the bathroom. That one I changed. Anyway, I made the kitchen a bit bigger since that front door was deleted, freeing up space. Then I added those Grant Park screens in the dining area. I basically reused her furniture, although here and there I made a few changes. I did get rid of that spare bedroom, making it into an office, since all the doctors I work with, always take their work home with them. I also put up those posters by @kimmiessimmies, because Jaime has a major crush on the lead singer. And she is absolutely sure that if he ever met her, he'd dump that Sadie sim for her - because she is just that BEAUTIFUL!!!! And don't you forget it! Well, you can't because she reminds everyone she meets that she's beautiful and smart! But apparently not smart enough, because she got demoted at work when she bragged about her latest conquest - Thornton Wolff. (Seems her boss, Geoffrey Landgraab - a good friend of Morgana's - was not pleased.)

And here the little tart is! Basically, all I did was change her skin and hair and toned down her make-up. I did give her some new clothes, but some I kept because I don't like having a whole neighborhood of models walking around. And this outfit wasn't that ghastly.

BTW, she's set her sights on a new gene therapist who was recently added to the hospital staff. His family lives in a new house next door to the Keatons. But since he comes from a traditional Chinese family, his parents are having none of it. Like Yumi Sekemoto, they are looking for a nice Asian girl to marry their son to. So, that lets out Ms. Jaime and her BF Pauline Wan. They're on the fence about Tori whatshername.

Hello I got an answer from the EA team and I didn’t read It correctly the first time. I’ve got banned because of 4 problematic Sims. What the problematic thing about the for Sims is they didn’t say. They’ll keep me banned and I’ll probably lose a lot of Sims.

I begged them to not delete them, so I can save them to my library or to my computer. But no comment….

I am so sorry for your situation, genuinely. Did they tell you which specific sims/gallery posts led to the ban? Even if they didn't tell you why there were problematic, if you know which posts caused the ban I might be able to look at them and tell you what the gallery might have constituted as "problematic."

Also, are they holding firm that you won't be able to buy games in the future, or have they at least resolved that? Have you heard back from them since you asked to save your sims? Not to be a negative nelly, but I am not surprised they're not being super empathetic. This is just... how these big corporations are. Never super helpful, but it sucks and I am really sorry.

This game is buggy af and truly, it might not even be something you did. I call it a trashcan with a Gucci belt because that's what it has become. I love the Sims, it holds a special and nostalgic place in my heart, but boy oh boy does the Sims 4 piss me off on a daily basis so I get where you're coming from (lol).

Unfortunately, it sounds like your save files are corrupted. It could have been a mod that broke them, it could have been an update on EA's end, it could be a number of things causing your problem... but I don't think there's any fix outside of cleaning your cache files, removing all mods and CC, repairing your game through the EA app, creating a brand new save, and seeing if the issue persists after doing all that. From my research, it seems some players had a similar issue to what you're describing after the integration of Snowy Escape (there's a whole thread from 2020 on Answers HQ).

Alternatively, if you have or had any custom content food stalls in your game older than 2022, they will break your save file, even if you remove your mods/the custom stalls after the issue presents itself. If you have loaded the game with the custom food stalls and have since saved with that CC still in your game, the save file remains broken forever. This actually was caused by the My Wedding Stories Atrocity errr... Pack. Here's a Answers HQ thread on that.

Either way, something likely permanently corrupted your saves. On the bright side, it might not be the Sims themselves that are broken! Here are two answers HQ threads that are all about troubleshooting broken, irreparable saves: Thread 1, Thread 2. I'm sure there's something in there that could help you. I also think, if your saves are corrupted but not your sims, you could probably save a copy of your tray folder to your desktop before factory resetting the game, and then you wouldn't lose your sims because you could just copy and paste the tray files back into your fresh game. It's worth going in, saving the the townies you don't want to lose to your library, saving and exiting your game, then making that copy of the folder just in case.

Worst case scenario, your game is still having issues and you know the sims themselves are corrupted. Best case scenario, and in my opinion the more likely one, you find that the issue is gone once the game is repaired and all the broken saves have been removed and then you still have all those sims you love without the bug itself.

I've rambled so much, I apologize! I hope some resource I've given you has been helpful. I've said it before and I'll probably say it again, I'm not tech-savvy lol but I am genuinely happy to help you to the best of my ability. If you Google "Food stalls and curio shop only selling produce sims 4" you will find so many different people with the same issue you have.

In the future, I think the best tips I can give are:

Save modded sims with an abundance of CC to your library, not to the gallery. If you wish to share your sims that use cc, the gallery is not an effective place to do this.

Always keep your Mods folder organized - keep mods in their own labeled distinct folders and keep CC in its own distinct folders. CC can even have subfolders! I will put an example of this at the end of this list, but this is really important because it makes it easier to not only find issues if they arise, but also makes it easier to stay on top of keeping your mods up to date.

To piggy-back off that last point: keep your mods up to date. A broken mod can corrupt a whole save file if you're not careful.

Remove mods and cc before you update your game. Only place them back in once you know it is safe to do so and all your mods have been updated. Play with modded objects at your own risk, but know they might corrupt an entire save.

Regularly clear your cache files, especially after altering your mods folder by removing or adding a new mod.

I also recommend creating a subfolder in your cc folder called "New CC - [Month]" That way if your game starts acting funky suddenly, you can start with that folder. For me, that's roughtly 40 items that could be the problem as opposed to hundreds of files.

I know that is a lot, but playing with Mods and CC is something that does take some level of proactive vigilance. If TS4 wasn't constantly barfing up bullshit updates and bug fixes on players at every possible opportunity, it wouldn't be as tedious of a commitment...but that's just what we have to deal with.

I hope you can get some level of these issues solved, but if not I hope you can still play your game and make the best of a situation that is out of your control. Hey there people of today and robots of tomorrow! It's me, Clark, back at least with another #throwbackthursday, just in time for the highly-anticipated Across the Spider-Verse! With Miles set to swing across the big screen again, I figured how would be a good time to show off this piece I made in 2020 featuring my characters from 3K. 3K is set in the year 3000 (hence the super subtle name) where robots are as common as people. So much so that a group of them band together in order to defend the planet from internal and external threats. One of its founding members is AH, a robot who went blind after seeing years of war now fighting for peace. Yet in another dimension she is one of a handful of robots who is infused with the powers of a spider, AH herself dawning the mantle of SpidAH-Girl. She fights crime in New York City alongside her friend ERN-E (Classic Spidey) and EMIL-E (Spider-Gwen).

In case this pic doesn't make it super obvious, I am a huge fan of Mayday Parker's Spider-Girl, her series acting as a gateway for my eventual love of comic books. Having fallen in love with the Raimi trilogy around the same time I discovered Google, I stumbled across the cover for The Amazing Spider Girl #1 and my life was never the same after. May zigged in everyway her father zagged. While she wasn't as physically strong as Peter was, I'd argue she was mentally and morally stronger than her old man ever was. Where Pete thinks that someone dies every time he fails, May sees it as somebody lives every time she succeeds. Along with that she has faster reflexes, a keener spider sense, can magnetize surfaces with her adhesion abilities, and even inherited her mother Mary Jane's sense of style. This is most evident by the fact that she looks way better in Ben Reily's spider suit than Ben himself ever did. On top of that she's a big brother, which is also cool.

However, this pic didn't keep me up until 1 or 2 AM. What can I say, when I get an idea in my head, nothing stops me until I see it completed. Especially when the end result turned out so great. I liked how AH looks in both her super suit and casual clothes, not to mention her lil' logo was a nice personal touch. If I were to change anything now it'd be to swap out EMIL-E's Spider-Gwen outfit for MJ's Spinneret from Renew Your Vows. EMIL-E and ERN-E are supposed to be a couple and by now I've jumped aboard the Miles x Gwen ship. It's the one time I will ever ship a Spider-Man with Gwen outside of Spectacular Spider-Man. Otherwise the reason I drew EMIL-E like this was because of a Halloween pinup my friends SIM-N and I did for Halloween back in 2016.

Looking back now, I wish we had named these pin ups something other than Playbot. Chock it up to be being a dumb teenager. Speaking of dumb, hey tumblr, screw you and your limit on image size! This is an art sharing website, I should be able to upload files regardless of size! Especially when I wanna share these old Halloween pin-ups later this year!

The Sims 4 | Ukrainian village house [photo longpost]

A story of this build is more than it seems.

I finished this house on April 11th, 2022. It was already more than 1 month of russian full-scale invasion on Ukraine. This was one of the first times when I tried to distract a bit from a 24/7 scrolling though terrible scary news. I took my laptop, sit in corridor (note: this is a safe place in a flat if there is full-scale war with bombing, air strikes etc outside) and launched The Sims4. This was the most chill and comfy game that I had back than. No buttles, no difficult quests, just building.

I decided to build old Ukrainian village house, because at that time I was fully into thoughts about my country. I wanted to do something with traditional Ukrainian vibe or simply nostalgic.

I searched for some refs, childhood memories when I was spending summer holidays in the village. But also all of this is from my imagination and game functional.

The whole view to the land area.

Sunflowers in front of the house near the fence is a must! We have a lot of sunflower fields and it always nice to see even single flowers here and there. This is Ukrainian thing.

fun note: on the first months of russian full-scale invasion on Ukraine, brave Ukrainian woman came to the russian soldiers, that wanted to occupied a Ukrainian village, and ask them to put some seeds in their pockets, so they can at least somehow be useful after they pass away on Ukrainian land. This became a well-known meme and also a symbol in Ukraine.

Anyway, back to the house.

A vegetable garden in Ukrainian village household is a must too! I did a little one just for vibes. But usually Ukrainians have a few hectares of gardens. As people of agricultural country it would be strange if we didn't. BTW pumpkins in Sims are super cute, i guess they're not even from debug.

sad note: many of Ukrainian vegetable gardens are destroyed because of russian's bombing. They, in fact, purpously burn and shell fields to left us with no harvest.

Beekeeping is also a thing here. I guess almost every Ukrainian has a nostalgic chilhood memory when local beekeeper inspecting a hive frame and bees don't sting them. Oh, wow!

Talking about nostalgia. Even though nowadays in vilages we have toilets inside the house I wanted to build an old school one, haha. (one of the reason was me wondering how to buid it in Sims lol).

wtf note: while I was wondering which toilet to build in a game, russian soldiers were stealing flush toilets from Ukrainian houses, to send it to their homes and i guess finally live their dream.

The outdoor summer shower is another old school stuff that I wanted to include. On the left you can see an old bath and a tyre with flowers (just for fun really).

It was so weirdly satisfying to build and to clutter up a shed, lol

Finally interior! Sunflowers on the table, random furniture and bunch of printed stuff on the walls.

Small bedroom with 2 extra beds if someone came to visit. I want you to notice an icon in the courner on the first pic. Small detail that I customised myseft 'cause I couldn't find any to download, ugh.

The basement or cellar. Very useful top tier place in the house. Safe and has a lot of food.

note: nowadays it's not an odd thing for Ukrainians to spend hours in here, waiting for air raid alert to stop. This one better than a corridor

Can you imagine how much time it took me to add all of this single veggies, fruits and other stuff from the debug? I bet you can't. Too long! But is was worth it!

The fun part! Secret exit from the basement, hidden in the bushes, hehe.

You never know when you will need to secretly escape your own house, because of neighbor invaders.

💻: To feel nostalgic; what are some old games/websites you spent lots of time on when you were young?

Oh man, to be young and fighting for access on the one family desktop in the house 😂

When I was young I remember using the internet to track hurricanes (childhood is weird in the south lol), play Neopets (hours and hours and hours), or research whatever new historical fixation I had that year (I distinctly remember a Titanic and mummy phase).

Then when I got a little older, I really started getting into games. First the Sims 1 and 2, then Zeus and Poseidon, and the early Civ games. Pretty specific world simulators with historical leanings. Who I am makes so much sense now lol

👻: What is something in an animated movie or cartoon that scared you as a kid? 

So this isn’t animated or a cartoon but it is (kind of?) a kids movie.

E.T.!!!! For some reason I was horribly, horribly afraid of the little alien in E.T., so much so that I still haven’t finished that movie to this day. I remember someone tried to get me to watch it and I straight up ran from the room. Then whenever I was driving anywhere at night I would have to close my eyes when we passed cane fields because I was scared that’s where the aliens would abduct us, even though I don’t think there’s a field in that movie?? Idk. Super odd childhood fear though lol

TS2 and its spinoffs (mainly DS and Console) are my main sims games and my non-sims comfort games are We ❤️ Katamari, Bejeweled 3 (also available as a mobile app, it's just called Bejeweled Classic), Zuma and Zuma's Revenge, and Plants vs. Zombies 2. Katamari is SUPER nostalgic for me, and playing it instantly gives me the warm and fuzzies, and for the others they're just super accessible and easy to pick up and put down. But Sims 2 really is my One. as much as it can be a pain in the ass sometimes, I don't think I'll ever put it down for good. It's been on every computer I've owned since I was 12. 💚

0:00 - I love the immediate crazy-hair

0:18 - that is a really long nap at a bad time of the day for a normal sleep schedule. Also, did he nap in his contacts?

0:30 - he turns into a burrito when he sleeps

0:34 - the Star Wars pajamas he got for Christmas 2015 that he was wearing in Reacting to my Baby Videos! too

0:38 - this does not look like a particularly comfortable filming position

0:39 - whenever there’s a glimpse of that other nightstand when he films, it’s always completely empty, or crammed with whatever cups and things it looks like he moved from the other side

It’s just so normal. Sometimes I think that “normal” look at their lives is part of why DNP seem so relatable and gained and kept an audience . They mop their own floors and clean their own toilets.

I do love this video. It has always seemed to most “realistic” of the sleepless night videos, because Dan was away. Though Phil must have filmed it the first night Dan was gone because just a day later Phil went up to see his family and posted this video while he was still there (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).

Historical Simblr Tag!

So I haven’t been actually tagged, but saw quite a few people just saying they tag anyone who wants to do it, so I’ll take it!

1. What has been your favorite time period to play in or which one are you most excited for?

I’ve been really enjoying the 1900s actually! Peter Pan was my favourite book as a kid and I was always really obsessed with stories about turn-of-the-century explorers and archaeologists (obviously as a kid I didn’t really understand the issues of colonialism there), but I think because of that the Edwardian era has felt weirdly nostalgic for me. 

As far as eras I’m looking forward to, I mostly studied the 1940s in university so I think that will be a very familiar period for me which should be fun. Mostly though I’m really hyped for the 1980s- that’s more my aesthetic irl. 

2. Do you have a favorite piece of historical cc? (CAS or BB)

I absolutely adore the dress from @gilded-ghosts ���Stately Set”. I have Evie wear it pretty much all the time and have put quite a few townies in it as well! Also the Vintage Typewriter by Esmeralda has been unbelievably useful. 

3. Who is your favorite sim currently?

I mean, it’s probably fairly obvious but I love Evie a lot. She sort of started as a cheeky reference to Rachel Weisz’s character in The Mummy, just because I had named her Evelyn, but then I absolutely fell in love. I don’t change the genetics of the sims in this challenge (other than to add freckles), and I liked that she looks so different from all of her sisters, and then I’m always a sucker for slightly bookish adventurers. I also hadn’t really expected her to become famous from her writing and archaeology skills, so that’s been fun to play with a bit! 

I will say though, Arthur and Beatrice are both growing on me very quickly. 

4. What is your favorite world?

I will always have a soft spot for San Myshuno. I’m much more of a city lover so that was the pack I was the most hyped about coming out, and it’s still the one I play in the most outside of the decades challenge. Other than that, Evergreen Harbor is probably second, if only because it reminds me the most of places I know and the area of the world I live in. I do also really like Del Sol Valley aesthetically, but wish it had a bit more space to play with. 

5. Are you more gameplay or story focused?

Riiight down the middle there, I’d say. I do make general plans about where I want the characters to go and what sort of things I’d like to happen in each decade, but also I like to just play and see what happens. I will say, I got quite nervous sending David and Evie to climb Mt. Komorebi. The whole time I was debating with myself over what to do if one of them died on the climb- like would I reload it or not, and luckily it didn’t come to that. They were both perfectly fine, but I still don’t know what I would have done if they weren’t. 

6. Do you like to play with pets in your historical saves?

Yes! I personally just like to have pets around for any sims I play with. I always find they just make things feel generally more cozy, if that makes sense. 

7. What’s your biggest immersion breaking pet peeve with the game?

Good god, townies. I know this has been pretty much everyone’s answer, but man they can be really frustrating. 

8. What’s your favorite in-game historical item? (CAS or BB)

This might be a bit of a weird one, but the radiator from Vampires. It instantly makes older styles of builds feel much more realistic, and as someone who was primarily a builder before doing this challenge, that’s super important to me.  

9. What would you like to see as a new pack or asset to the game?

I’ve heard some people bring up a band themed pack a few times, which I would be very into. I’d also like something to flesh out school for kids and teenagers. To be honest, just more for teens and kids would be great- like more hobbies! I loved the hobbies in Sims 2 like ballet and stuff. More of that please. 

10. What pack do you think is invaluable as a historical simmer?

Cottage Living, Get Together, and Vampires are obviously the best for the  aesthetics of the early decades, but I think overall Seasons is the best if only to give more of a sense of progression outside of actually switching from one decade to the next. 

11. Do you have a favorite mod to enhance historical gameplay?

No more auto phone stuff -  Anonymouse85 

12. What’s your ideal family size for playing?

I’d say 2 to 4. The initial Sewell family was a little overwhelming tbh with the 5 kids, and I’m sure I’ll probably have big families later on again in future generations, but honestly I’m usually happiest with just 2 and maybe a pet. 

13. Do you use poses?

Yes, in fact I’ve been using them more and more! I was really hesitant at first for some reason, but I’m really liking them actually. 

14. Do you use any overrides in your game?

I try not to. I had one for baby cribs briefly and it caused some weird glitching (baby Beatrice fully disappeared from the game at one point and I had to reload), so now I’ve been avoiding them. 

15. Do you, or did you, play off-the-grid during your game?

No, I thought I would at first, but I didn’t like how few things you could actually cook, and I thought that sims should still be able to write on the typewriter. 

16. What lifespan do you play on?

So, I was playing on long, which I feel was a mistake. I’ve always played on long in the past, and so I stuck with that, but it’s starting to be a bit much. Like I said in another post, Evie has already finished 3 aspirations and she’s still a young adult. That said, I kind of feel like normal is too short. So what I’ve done is I used MCCC to change the age durations so that sims actually have a regular calendar birthday- using a chart made by @simkhira. We will see if that is a bit more reasonable- I’m just starting to try it out. 

17. What inspired you to start playing a historically?

I was a history student in school, so when I saw some people posting about the decades challenge on the regular sims tags I was really intrigued. Then I started reading a few people’s stories all the way from the beginning, especially @pixelnrd ‘s story which I’m really loving, and I thought I’d like to maybe give the challenge a go myself!
