These are some designs, sketches and tests I did before I begun my piece There's An Unusual Guest In Our House for TRSB. I'll be honest, I had SO much fun with (almost) every aspect of the creation of this piece. But mainly just figuring out Thranduil gown and how it's going to be. For as much as I like how he's dressed in the movies I DO get tired of drawing the same outfits over and over again. And I honestly think his move design is missing some green, but that's a whole 'nother topic.

One thing that I'm just noticing is that the gold neckline in some of these is much lower than in the final piece, and i do like it lower... Hmm, maybe next time.

            Sigrid reached up and pressed a hand to her shoulder, to the spot where one of the Greenwood Elves had carefully – and painlessly – inked an Elvish rune into her skin. It would fade on its own within the month, she had been told. With silver swirling shapes and carefully painted green edges, the rune was elegant and beautiful. The Elf who had painted it on her had also teased her, saying, “It is for virility, Princess, and for… inciting desire, some say.”

Alarë Awarthiel meaning she-who-grows daughter-of-abandon

Later Vanya meaning fair or beautiful which was a name suggested by her witch girlfriend

She is a traditionally beautiful woman, with dark purple skin, long flowing brown hair, leathery wings, cloven hooves and a dump truck of a rack and arse. She underwent a bit of a corrupted transformation and her hands are now distinctly more claw like with glowing infernal tattoos up her arms, she has glowing magenta eyes and a dark scar across her face.

Are you ready for a (heavily condensed) lore drop, because this is a big ol lore drop below the cut.

First a bit of background, in this setting use of magic or "sins" corrupts a soul, functionally this means if you cast too many or too powerful a spell you risk becoming corrupted, or if you go about killing people. Get too corrupted, and you turn into a monster.

No One really knew how tieflings came about but, the were always more vulnerable to corruption and would almost always become monsters when they were in their mid 40s or younger. Usually the transformation would occur due to strong negative emotions. (Alarë was not aware of this curse)

Alarë is a tiefling, on her fathers side, she grew up in a small village where her father was the village alchemist and she took to botany and alchemy readily.

When she was 15, her mum died of a disease and her dad, broken hearted, became a monster. Alarë killed the monster that was her father to protect herself. She then ran away and for 6 years was a travelling alchemist, before heading north to find the origin of her curse and to maybe stop it.

On her journey, she met her two girlfriends

Sigrid arnaulf, city guard, turned eldritch ranger. OC of @rebockey

Sigrid is a muscly boat building warrior who is trying to figure out who/what to listen to and how to find her own voice. (Has very recently, it seems, come into her own)

Sigrid has bright red hair which has been shorn so short on the sides, although she used to have long braided hair and wode markings in various places across her body

The other girlfriend, Oksana Bosko, OC of @primalsavagery

Oksana is the weird, little, witch boy who hangs around and is also a midwife. She is blunt, argumentative and "off-putting" but an excellent medic.

Oksana has shock blond hair which has also be cut away at the sides and has tattoos of the phases of the three moons all across her body. She is also dog.

Together the three of them are founding a witch coven very soon to become the "Sisters of The Shifting Seasons"

So that's the light lore and descriptions now for the story

Alarë came to the forest with this group, she was head over heels for Sigrid pretty instantly, she was strong, kind hearted and friendly. Honestly kryptonit to gaining Alarë's affection,

Oksana was a bit different at first Alarë was afraid of Oksana, she was blunt and unsociable which had been a red flag in the past but eventually she began to see how much Oksana cared about everything and that melted Alarë heart

Oksana was murdered by another member of the party (after Oksana went werewolf and almost killed and definitely infected said party member) and Alarë became so enraged that she struck down the other party member and partially transformed into a monster her hands growing into claws, the markings on her arms in a demonic language appeared and her eyes began to glow.

For several weeks (IRL months) they did the oblivious lesbians thing, and were just pining at one another with moments like "you can share my tent if you aren't comfortable sleeping alone"

Together with the group she went to the home of some necromantic hags hoping to bring oksana back to life, the hags were unable to aid but in the end the barrier between the living world and the dead was broken and be returned Oksana's soul to her body

After her transformation Alarë started calling herself Uvanima, meaning monster, Oksana wasn't particularly happy about that and suggested Vanya instead.

When they reunited with Sigrid, she had been cursed with an uncontrollable desire to drink blood, so the other two stepped up to help her deal with the impulse

"We can let you feed on our blood,

we have a blood letting kit,

it's hot,

I mean,

not a problem"

Shortly after that the three began fucking on Sigrid’s birthday!

Since then they have formed their proto coven (this Wednesday is when it might be official) with Oksana being the medicine witch, Sigrid being the handywitch and Vanya being the homeywitch? (Cooking and keeping the Inn and making potions and stuff)

It's a big ol' chunk of text but I have been the soul of brevity in this description there's so much more to everything.

Hey, Ttte followers! I have an announcement!

I got HEAVILY inspired by @askthefamous8 ‘s wedding ceremony that they had last year!

And I am pretty sure that I announced this at the end of last year but here it is again!

The official date is July 15th 2024!!

It’s very obvious that I’m a Rex and Bert shipper because imo they go well together. So, I’ve been planning a fictional wedding for the two!

I plan on using a very similar format that Sleepyhenry used. But my goal is actually me wanting to get more people familiar with the arlesdale characters and railway. Because, let’s be honest, most people forget that they exist or flat out don’t know about them.

This is the same template photo that sleepy used for their Henry and Gordon wedding! Mine will (like I said) very similar to theirs.

Please don’t hesitate to draw yourself in!!

It makes my day when people interact with my posts! And you don’t even have just draw! You can use picrew, and Gacha as long as it fits into one chair!

Empty Vessel-'verse headcanons: Tilda

Thank you to @tildabardsdotter11 for asking me to do headcanons for Tilda in My Heart is an Empty Vessel-'verse! Here are the ones I can think of, and I'll reblog with more if I think of them!

She is endlessly curious, and not at all afraid to ask awkward questions; she is very direct, which can sometimes come across as tactlessness.

Her weapons-grade cuteness (as a child) develops into a disarming charm and openness that means she has most people she meets wrapped firmly around her little finger in five minutes flat.

She becomes a keen gardener in Dale, restoring its gardens and orchards and seeking advice, tips and plants from every ambassador who visits; her hothouses, in later years, are the envy of half of Middle-Earth.

She also becomes a healer, learning how to use the herbs and medicinal plants she grows; she is particularly skilled in midwifery. Her mother died giving birth to her and Tilda is named for her - her mother was Maud, known as Maudie, and Matilda is another form of Maud (in our world, Matilda is the Latin and Maud the Old English form of the name) - and Tilda decides early on in Dale that she wants to learn to help women in childbirth in her mother’s honour, so that as few women as possible suffer the fate her mother did.

In adulthood she is very enthusiastically pansexual, and is forever getting into one sort of mischief or another.

This fact notwithstanding, she is an accomplished diplomat and is very good at dealing with foreign ambassadors, most of whom want to arrange a marriage between Sigrid (who is Queen in this ‘verse, Bard having abdicated to retire to the Woodland Realm with Thranduil as soon as Sigrid was old enough to take over from him, and who is very very aroace) and their own ruler; Sigrid calmly ignores the marriage proposals, and Tilda tends to deal with the ambassador in her own way.

Tilda is the one who breaks the ice with Thranduil, initially, and although he does not have favourites among his stepchildren, if he did his favourite would probably be Tilda. They absolutely adore each other, and Tilda is the one who can disarm him and persuade him into doing things that will be good for him.

She is an inveterate matchmaker, and if she sees people being daft about each other and not doing anything about it, she will absolutely be the one who says something about it; she is almost entirely singlehandedly responsible for Bain and his childhood friend Lotta sorting themselves out and getting married, for starters.

She never marries (she is far too busy and also she doesn’t want to limit herself) but she has her family around her and she is probably the happiest of all of them to the end of her days.

If you’re in Dale and you have a problem, Tilda is the one you go to. She will know what to do, whether it’s referring you to Sigrid (and probably putting a word in on your behalf), brewing you a tincture, taking you for a walk in the gardens and a good long talk, whatever you need.

Snippet from Chapter 5 of Beauty of Starless Nights. That will be finished. One day. It's the third repetition of "red like" that had eluded me for ages.

Red like Sigrid's coral necklace that she claimed to be an ancient artefact made by the Sildroher, back in the days before they hid from human eyes. Before his sister broke the land to mirror her broken heart. He suspected it was a tale spun by her wild imagination, but he loved listening to her; she had a gift to shape even the most prosaic moment into a story of great poetic beauty. It was her who inspired him to attempt translating Old Fjerdan poetry to Ravkan, gently scolding him when he failed to achieve the perfect rhythm or catch "the true heart of the North".

Finally posting one of my TRSB (@tolkienrsb) pieces!

The short explanation for this piece is that I REALLY wanted a more fae, otherworldly, not natural, interpretation of the elves, specifically Thranduil in this case, interacting with bards children. I really am always craving that cultural differences between people 😂 And here it is 😌

I am SO happy with how this came out looking, I was SO worried about how it was going to look, I had very specific expectations about the look I wanted this to have. And I'm really happy overall.

Obligatory thanks to everyone who bared with me and my complaining through the process XD but specially to @i-did-not-mean-to for getting me the lovely watercolor pencils I created this with 😭 🥰 I am forever grateful.

-Family tree includes an archdevil somehow

-Literally inseparable. Sigrid is a ghost possessing Viv who got stuck rendering them unable to be pulled apart without violently killing both in the process

-Viv is an Herbalist and Cleric of Eilistraee, Sigrid is the ghost of an ancient Netherese rebel healer seeking to bring down the government

Lizzy Jude (Druid, Green/Blue)

-Algae in a corpse, is inspired by one of my favorite characters from this. Because she has all the memories of said corpse, somewhat unclear if she is Lizzy resurrected or a new being.

-Is a librarian and organizes her inventory via the Dewey Decimal System

-Married to a princess who she met because someone threw her in a river. Is a MILF

-Raised by humans and didn't interact with other elves. As such, assumed her growing scales was just something all elves do eventually and never questioned this, or realized she was part Dragon.

-Did not in fact know what a dragon was, despite having been to a country called the Dragon Empire.

N.O.R.A (Artificer/Rogue, Green Blue White)

-Daughter of a government official who died in an accident involving a robot made to kill superheroes, got Astro Boyed to become that robot (ish). Went on the run, now a superhero.

-Built to kill heroes but believes firmly from her programming they help people and need their own help, and refuses to kill them.

-One of her main enemies is an evil gamer girl

-If prompted would attempt to figure out her sexuality via the scientific method.

-Her designer ensured her variable arm cannon blaster also had an attachment that is a cat toy.
