putting this here to say I'm joining the Magic Roleplay Blog trend, here's my intro post/blog for any interested followers of mine!
Dear people of the Multiverse, it is pleasant to make your acquaintance. I am Dr. Sango Akagane, and I have been informed of this wonderful platform for "Blogging." I am not quite sure how this works, however my steadfast ally Aariz tells me I need to make some sort of introduction for proper etiquette and statement of intent.
I suppose to declare myself, I am first off a planeswalker. If any of you have questions not answered about other planes I suppose I can do my best to figure them out. My primary passion, however, is the medical field and the culinary field. New recipes or surgical techniques are always welcome and I am always happy to grant advice on either. If you have a genuine medical emergency, however, I recommend contacting your local plane's emergency services.
Sincerely, Sango
P.S: To any of House Dimir who are likely monitoring this communication, should you need to edit any part of these posts to remove classified information or add any sort of hidden messages, simply speak to your handler. To save us both the trouble of hacking or breakins, I have provided the requisite information to most Dimir leaders in the district. Or, if you cannot reach them, the password is inside the cookie jar.
Hello everyone, Aariz here. I'm the aforementioned "Ally" she referred to. She doesn't know about how the read more button works yet so she hasn't noticed this little addon. This isn't really my blog but if she's introducing herself I should as well. I am the Master of Deserts, but you don't really need to know where I'm from. Frankly I think it's a bad idea for Sango to post her location so readily but she seemed insistent. Maybe I should put a fun fact here? I dunno, I just found out that apparently "Ballin'" means you have a lot of cash. Lots of new information here. So I guess I am....always 'BALLIN'. What a fun word, it is being added to my vocabulary. Hope to have fun with you all!

Im really torn between the fact that my favorite set of all time Will be seeing the light of the day again ( lorwyn) and my gut feelings of how It Will be fucked up by the new superbland mediocre art style and the real world politic agenda ( not so) subtly pushed in late sets, in a CARD GAME. We want to see stories of faeries, kithkins, elves, goblins, Giants, merfolk and cinders in their beautiful fantasy setting, no trans they/them faeries that think they're kithkins
Two points:
1) When returning to a world, we’re very cognizant of the aesthetic of the world. We understand returning to Lorwyn requires embracing what made people love it the first time around. Obviously, there will be updates, as the game has evolved much since our first visit, but we’re very aware of the need to recapture the plane’s essence.
2) For far too long, fantasy, as a genre, was used as a way to reflect the worldview of those in power. It leaned into stereotype and reflected how the privileged wished the world was. Modern fantasy is more reflective of the actual world, which includes the wide variety of life experiences that exists.
Trans people, people of color, and women playing a larger role, are all part of modern fantasy because they’re all part of the actual world, and it’s important that our stories and world building be reflective of that.
“I want to return to a time where we could ignore the existence of certain elements because I was happy living in that ignorance” is not an excuse to deny real people and their real life experiences.
Entertainment is at its best when it lifts everyone up and isn’t used as yet another means to ignore certain people’s reality.

Could we see a return to the dark
I don’t know what that would mean exactly. What are we returning to? An aesthetic?

hey! have you ever wondered what plane from Magic you'd end up in? have you ever considered if you'd actually survive if you accidentally slipped into an Omenpath and ended up in said plane? spin my wheel and find out. or don't. I'm not a cop or your mom.

blood is basically the most normal thing for a sword to hunger for. if a sword gained sentience and started asking me for blood i'd be like yeah i thought you might say that

curious that you think I'm a bitch, considering the homunculus clone of you that I keep in my basement has never said something like that to me. could it simply be that the stresses of your daily life are making you irritable?

While I think The Thran novel maintains a largely and appropriately somber tone throughout, I do occasionally have a blue screen moment whenever I remember that book contains a scene where someone electrocutes themselves because they pissed their pants while sitting at the controls of the glimmer moon.

Hi Jay, I've got a question about the Speed Demons - are they all from Duskmourn? Or are they just being loaned Winter for the race? I've heard various people claim both, and I think the point of contention is the spot in the Planeswalker's Guide where it says they're "led by a demon who allows excursions from their homeworld". Some say that's the Speed Demon himself, some say that's Valgavaoth, and I'm undecided until I hear something more concrete. Thanks!
My understanding is that the Speed Demon is the team's 'chaperone' and the racers, save Winter, are pretty much all glitch ghost possessed survivors and/or razorkin from Duskmourn.
I think the PW Guide is pretty clear:
These are the Speed Demons, a group of possessed racers and their tormentors who drive specter-haunted vehicles, led by the eponymous demon that allows their excursions from their homeworld.
Note: Eponymous means 'the thing giving its name', so the Speed Demon. Easy to miss, though!
#phrasing it as chaperone is so funny#need my signed permission slip from mr. valgavoth to go on the field trip
