Sigriel Week is a week of fan creation celebrating the characters Sigrid and Tauriel from the Hobbit movies, timed to coincide with the date of the Battle of the Five Armies on 10 October 2941 of the Third Age of Middle-Earth.

Summary: Five years after the Battle of the Five Armies, Dale begins to flourish as it picks itself back up. Things have never looked better for the kingdom of men. Their princess, Sigrid, is now tasked with the duties of building relations with other nations, and what more than to wed the prince of the great kingdom of Gondor itself?

But is this really what she wants? She can't help but have doubts, but the words of a red-haired she-elf just might give her the right answer for herself.

SIGRIEL WEEK (@sigrielweek) DAY 6: Getting Away From It All

Moodboard and a drabble (under the cut) for today's entry. Enjoy!

Lazy summer days at the lake are their favorite.

No duties or responsibilities burden them on the shore. They can lie on a soft blanket all day, having a picnic or enjoying the heat. Tauriel teaches Sigrid the tongue of her people with the latter’s head resting in her lap. When they need to cool off, the water is perfect. Sigrid splashes Tauriel to make her smile- and gets splashed back every time.

As the sun falls, they can dry while enjoying a glass of wine. Even later, the brilliant stars glimmer above, the perfect end to a perfect day…

three ships I like: well, there's the bi widower dads (come join us for Barduil Month!), and then my beloved rarepair canoes Legolas/Imrahil and Sigrid/Tauriel...and that's just for starters.

last song I heard: listening to something on the soundtrack for Breaking Bad at the moment (the missus is watching it and I'm kind of half-following it) but I've no idea what it is, and I can't remember what was on in the pub last night, but the last thing on my Spotify is The Bitter End by my very much beloved Placebo so that will do nicely :D

favourite childhood book: too many to count, but including the Chalet School series, the Moomins, Peanuts, various Roald Dahl books (yes, I know, I know, it was the 80s and I didn't realise at the time), The Thirteen Clocks and the Wonderful O by James Thurber, and a whole load of other things. I read obsessively as a child.

currently reading: still working my way through The Two Towers but not actually really reading anything. I've more or less completely lost the ability to sit down and concentrate on a book, thanks Tumblr for destroying my concentration span.

currently watching: Breaking Bad, sort of, Morden im Norden and Watzmann ermittelt, and really really looking forward to X-Men 97 on Wednesday omg.

currently craving: Chinese food, which we shall be ordering as soon as our favourite takeaway starts delivering in about an hour XD

first ship ever: fandomwise, Rogue/Gambit from X-Men, but when I didn't know what it was, various including Lai/Ymarys from Sarah Ash's Moths to a Flame omg it's been nearly thirty years and I still so desperately need someone to read that book and come and ship them with me, they're so deliciously tragic and doomed...

I wrote a thranduil x resurrected!wife fic on Wattpad and blew up. She had lost memories and joined Thorin’s company and Fili fell for her… and then Fili fell. 😢

It’s been year(s) now and I was just reading my over the past few days and I’m starting to pick up traction in my brain for a sequel.

So now I’m researching what would happen post lotr and find a way to write a post story that would include Kili’s descendant Fili x Thranduil’s daughter.

So while I was reading, someone was like, well, men obviously took over, elves departed, and dwarves ( mixed? Not sure where they went) and hobbits became even more secret and it dwindled down to now human present.

Ooh! Okay, so we can have Daughter x Fili 3 x sigrid 5 (cause Fili x sigrid) and somehow make sigrid’s descendant be the evident villain in any sort. (Like, villain in the story, or actually a villain, villain.

And then the “connecting to present” links it to the Assassin’s Creed headcanon I had where Tolkien is valued as THE Historian and people are after the arkenstone and resurrections happen.

And oh! This just came to me now as I’m typing this post! I was confused if o wanted to resurrect the three durins or just Thorin, and Smaug. So this trilogy way, Fili can get his closure, kili already got Tauriel, so now it’s just Thorin vs Smaug.
