unpopular opinion. something i really hate is when a feminine (or shy or in any way not typically masculine) boy character is headcanoned as a trans guy or gay or a twink.

now this is coming from an andromasc trans dude that does not like being feminine and honestly being a feminine guy does not automatically make you gay or queer in some form and i think people need to realize that.

don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with being a feminine trans/gay man but it really is annoying to see people find a not typically masculine boy character and immediately think to themselves, “wow, this guy doesn’t follow the societal standard of what it means to ‘be a man,’ obviously he was a girl at some point in his life/likes guys!”

to me this reinforces societal gender standards and, in a way, is trans/homophobic in itself.

go be a feminine trans/gay guy! go be a masculine trans/gay guy! but genuinely quit reinforcing gender norms for the sake of “being inclusive.”

this also applies to masculine girl characters by the way.
