21. Does your OC like to ascribe nicknames or pet names to other people? How well does this usually go down?

ruby calls EVERYONE by pet names, at all times. "honey" and "sweetheart" are her main go-tos. this often puts people at ease but does not go over well with anyone who feels nicknames are condescending. also, fern freaks the Fuck out the first time ruby calls her "honey," because she thinks ruby is calling her by name (honey fern) even though ruby Should Not Know her name.

devin's version of pet names is pretty similar to darius owlhouse's, ie: derogatory (affectionate). devin will call anyone 35 years old and younger "kid," despite only being 38 herself, and will also grumpily refer to people as "that pain in my ass" or "you delusional idiot," etc. people who are offput by this mostly just avoid devin, which is how she prefers it. people who are NOT offput by this tend to become Very Attached to devin, which is the bane of her existence. Stop Acting Like I'm A Folk Hero. I Hate Your Dumb Asses So Bad <-woman being followed around by a gang of friendly twenty-something-year-old ducklings

nova tries to remember the names of people she sees semi-frequently and uses said names with great affection, because it's literal god's gift for god to remember your name. she's also very complimentary. as far as more personal relationships go, she tends to give people weirdly infantilizing nicknames: ie, camde is "cammy," robert was "robbie," and devin, of course, is "baby."

sol is the only one of the four who almost always just uses people's names with no ulterior motive. notably, though, she's also the only person who calls ruby "sunrise." she usually does it when she's being sarcastic, but also, like. ruby is her sunrise.... and other gay nonsense.
