grover was the person who was there for percy the most. he helped percy transition from the mortal world into the greek one. he supported percy in tlt when sally was thought to be dead. grover was percy’s first friend. ever. it’s not fair how people keep forgetting that. grover saved percy’s life.

percy literally did NOT hesitate to save grover when he was kidnapped by polyphemus. percy tried his hardest to be there for grover while grover fulfilled his dreams of finding pan. percy and grover travelled through most of the labyrinth together. grover is the foundation of percy’s best traits. percy saved grover’s life.

there is no other friendship in any of riordan’s books that can compare to grover and percy’s. they’re platonic soulmates. there’s no one like them.

I actually think TR!Tango is on such thin ice with Ros and his constant jabs at her. He intends them as jokes but there are so many times today where they did not land with Ros. There's obviously the one during the event where Sneeg and Clown immediately jumped to her defense but in even later afterwards he continued to make jokes and rile her up. Ros even went to Foolish about it after he made a joke about her making the walls and Foolish waved it off by saying Tango couldn't have known Owen made them (which, fair, he did not) but it actually upset Ros to not have her building skills and work on the castle recognized.

Building is like the one thing Ros takes pride in. She is so horribly insecure in nearly everything else, but building is her comfort zone. So for someone to not acknowledge her work and consistently tease her about it really made her frustrated and she even had to walk away and calm down. Interestingly enough, when Tango made a joke about the newspaper saying Ros doesn't have a backbone she very calmly told him that it was false and that people lie. This is something Tango and many others have teased her about in the past but this time she is finally standing up for herself. Ros is not the same person as she was when Tango left and I think he's going to find that out real quick.

I used to be one of those guys when I first joined the Kirby fandom, but everytime I hear a discussion of the series writing that starts with "So the Lore is InSaNe-" and not like, "Kirby has a fun writing style that takes advantage of its cute exterior to tell cool stories that reward player's curiosity and leave lots of room for imagination-" I cringe so goddamn hard.

I kinda just hate that people approach things that encourage investment when they don't expect it as inherently absurd. Like it is fun to joke about how absurd Kirby lore can be, but it really often comes with an air of disrespect or exhaustion rather than like, appreciation that these games are made by people who want to tell interesting stories when they could easily make as much money just making polished enough fluffy kiddy platformers. And when it's not met with exhaustion, it's met with - like I said before - that tone that it's stupid for a series like this TO have devs who care about writing stuff for it. Which is a whole other thing about people not respecting things made to appeal to kiddie aesthetic or tone.

Maybe the state of low-stakes YouTube video essays just blows cause people play up ignorance and disbelief for engagement, but like I STG I hear people use this tone for like actual narrative based games sometimes. Some people don't like... appreciate when a game is made by people who care a shitton in ways that aren't direct gameplay feedback. And they especially don't appreciate it when it comes from something with any sense of tonal dissonance intentional or not.

Anyways, I love games made by insane people. I love games made by teams who feel like they wanna make something work or say something so bad. I love that energy, especially when invested into something that could easily rest on its laurels or which obviously won't be taken seriously. I love this in a lot of classic campy 2000s games, I love this in insanely niche yet passionate fanworks, and I love it in the Kirby series and its writing. Can we please stop talking about it like it's an annoyance or complete joke?

I think the audience of interview with the vampire often overlooks an element that is so frequently referenced in the actual narrative (especially in season 1 more so), the element of loneliness. I am a human person with a mortal life that could end at any moment and there are still nights that I cannot put to rest how long life will be, how long it already has been, how it seems to stretch endlessly when there’s no one there to hold my hand. I have already lost people that I thought I would know for the rest of my life, I cannot imagine trying to conceptualize an eternity of carrying a loss with you. I struggle to face every day alone with no promise (or even prospect) of a partner. I cannot imagine attempting to imagine eternity with no one to cling to. Time does her trick on and on and on and you cannot die and there is no one to hold you when you sleep, only the eternal memory of hands engulfing your body. I found it hard to unlatch from an abuser knowing my life was finite, knowing if I didn’t move I’d be trapped for what little time I had, stuck there wasting time. But I also thought, what is waiting for me on the other side? Life is also long, who will I have to be with me? Imagine trying to shuck comfort when there is infinite time. There is nothing to be wasted and only cold, unending loneliness waiting for you when you break free. “Life is too short to be with someone who hurts you.” What does that mean when life isn’t short at all? Killing Lestat was a human expression of pain, of reclamation, of life, and of retribution against time lost. Staying with Armand is the vampire instinct of preservation, of comfort, of security, of attempting to bargain with what’s already with you, because what else will you have?

Can I rant about Mahasamut for a minute?

Can we all agree that Mut is THE DEFINITION of a soft dom/ brat tamer?! He knows what he wants and is fully aware of the power dynamic between him and Rak, but he plays oblivious or plays along to Rak's antics. Since the first episode, he was on the HUNT for Rak but let Rak lead until he was riled up enough to flip on that switch. When he dives, he dives DEEP. Not to mention that he definitely loves giving and at times feels like a submissive top. He lets Rak have his fun and explore at his own pace, and when he gets that green light, he just flips. He knows how far to push Rak and when to pull back and step out of his dominant role into a softer one. He always has control of the situation, even when Rak seems to be the one with the power. He's also not afraid to let himself be seen enjoying Rak's brattiness and even egging him on at times

He lets his dominance show in a way that isn't overbearing and leaves space for exploration. One thing I love love is that he isn't a stone top!! He let's Rak have his way and definitely enjoys being taken care of (whether he's in full control like the end of ep 6 or he's letting Rak lead like ep 2 & 3). He just loves to take care of his partner and holds that space very well of a solid, attentive, and sensible lover. +++ he uses affirmations to help Rak find security in him

Overall, he is so caring, seems good at aftercare, and really just caters to Rak's need for a mental blanket that's warm and all-encompassing. Mut is the dom that any sub would want (my self included) and Rak is just able to seek comfort and explore safely with someone who understands the way he operates. They just have such a good dynamic yk. Him being bigger than Rak (thicc boi) only adds to his character
